0:00 Rule or Ruin: Edwin's Car Issues

When you are tired and you just want to go to

bed, you have

to go and take a turd in a bucket in a cupboard.

William to my left and Benjamin upside down the camera.

This week, I'm going to put in ruin because I

just have

many car things to sort out and I don't have

much time to

do them.

I have things to do if I don't want to do it.

Podcast is out, you will have had an MOT.

Yeah.

Correct?

Correct?

There's a flood.

Are you confident in its ability to pass an MOT?

I will not speak on it because I'm scared of jinxing.

Oh, you'll jinx it, okay.

But like, if you're a betting man,

would you say like, what do the over-under?

I don't know what that means.

I never have known what that means.

Would you bet more on the fact that it would

pass or fail?

I will not speak on it.

I think you've got a favorite in the race.

I think it's pretty, I'm pretty confident.

I think you think it's going to pass.

I hope so, I need it.

So if not, I'm in the S2000 daily.

Odds on pass.

Couple of advisories, like a couple of little ones.

Although, it has dampity.

A side-ball joint, you know,

slightly.

Maybe.

Oil leak.

Oil leak, but not excessive.

Do you know what?

Oil leak could be great.

Yeah, you'd be fine with that.

Because it's going through oil,

so I prefer it was leaking out than burning it.

And when you find out you go,

where would I find that oil leak?

Is it UK based?

Just the underside, all of it,

just have the whole of it.

I don't want that.

Anyway, it's a ruin because I have things to

do and we have a lot of things to film and we

have a lot of things to do to cars.

Have you thought any more about your

replacement for the S2000?

No, it's so far out my mind currently.

It's crazy that this man can live like this.

I have so many things.

The next two weeks is just long.

I have too many things going on that I can't

think about cars or buying cars.

I just want the S2000 gone, I want the golf sorted.

Listen to how he talks about it.

I just want it gone.

He does not care.

He hates it.

I took the wheels off it.

And sold the wheels too?

Sold the wheels to William.

Wow, on the screen right now,

S2000.

I sold the wheels to William,

who's putting them on his McGann.

I am.

And I've bought proper tyres for it.

Yeah, fair.

I put the original wheels back on it,

but yeah, now it looks quite rough.

It needs a clean, maybe a little bit off

that, but it just looks.

3:54 Bet on Will Buying a Fun Car by End of Year

And now you've taken those wheels off.

Like you said, you had that thing where at

least you've looked at it and liked it,

as now you don't even have that.

No, no.

That car's dead to you.

Yeah.

Can I?

It's too early, we're in the rules and ruins,

but still I wanna pitch it to you now.

Sure.

I meant to do it last week.

Yeah.

A bet.

'Cause I think I did say it last week,

but I didn't say what the stakes were.

No, I don't think you'll buy a car,

a fun car to this side.

This side of Christmas.

Okay.

Does that give you, you know.

Wow, you extended it before you,

yeah.

I thought I can't remember what it was,

but I was gonna say the end of the year.

No, June at some point, wasn't that June?

What?

I thought it was end of the year.

I think I might have given you,

unless a Christmas just 'cause it's a nice,

easy, no, like Christmas.

We had like five days.

End of the year.

End of the year.

Oh, you know, that five days,

extra five days, we're gonna really do them at one.

Everyone's out buying cars and something

between Christmas and the end.

I do.

I don't think you'll buy a car.

The money will drop into your account.

Yep.

And you'll say you'll go, oh,

I could have put that into investment bonds saving us.

Oh, God, the percentages.

Into my Roth.

Exactly.

Are you fantastic.

And I would like the stakes to be here,

the punishment to be if that is true,

to be the grandest L we have ever dealt.

A painted, I want a requesting a painting.

Yep.

A painting in a nice golden frame that we can

put up somewhere.

We will pay, we'll pay for it.

That's fine.

But we want a painted one of you in a gesture outfit.

It's a photo of Venerages, or sorry,

painting of Venerages, in a gesture outfit

with a grand, grandiose L in his hand.

You can do that.

Yep.

But what I will say is that you made another

bet of me.

What was it?

I would sell it before Summer Solstice.

Yes.

Now, I haven't sold it yet.

You haven't, but when is the Summer Solstice?

Is it July or June?

June 21st, I think, or 20th?

I think I haven't gone by then.

Well, no, because you're relying on it here,

it's Ben's ability to sell a car.

Yeah, that's fair.

So you, Ben, you might be safe.

There's so much.

I don't even know what the odds were on that,

but now we've set this one.

It was an official on the podcast,

if you don't buy a car by the end of the year.

What do you want?

Painting.

Yeah, fine.

You know, that's gonna cost.

The cost falls on you.

You just said that you paid for it.

Oh, I think so.

Oh, sorry.

I had a good day for it.

The company will pay, and we won't put the

lights on again for Christmas.

Okay, that's fine.

Deal, shake my hand from here.

All right, handshake.

Consider that a shake in, you're well,

pal.

William, what is it?

What is it?

Oh, you will note, William's voice is a bit

rough this week.

It's not your TV set being out of tune.

Will's got a husky voice.

So there'll be some, also some YouTube videos

where it'll be even worse.

But anyway, hopefully by the next podcast,

it will be gone.

I also rule there is still no mercy logo.

It's very, very annoying and very,

very frustrated.

There is nothing I can do at the moment.

I'm just waiting on people and things.

The car is sat in storage that I am gonna

have to pay for as well.

But to my right, we have a tire.

Because it's quite large.

It's quite large.

I knew that the car would be a would need a

tire in order to get through an M.O.T.

They're

7:04 Ben's VW Golf Tire Replacement Issues

very expensive.

So it should be a ruin for that island.

I can see the site here.

It is a 335, 30, 18.

That is incredibly difficult to find.

It just ridiculously wide.

So there are only a couple of manufacturers

that make tires in this size and you can't

buy a matching front.

It is, for a car that's quite expensive and

that is going up a value so much.

Salting this out.

No.

There's nothing.

You cannot buy tires anywhere.

So I had to buy these and then a separate set

for release for the front.

The rears alone were 1,400 pounds.

Oh.

That's tough.

I have never spent that much on tire.

I don't think that's two sets of tires for

most performance.

No, it is ridiculous.

So that's just the set of rears.

The front's a normal.

Just a 245, 30, 18 or something.

But the rears, Jesus Christ.

If someone, there are slicks out there.

Someone makes, I think his Nankang makes

some, but they're proper semi slicks.

Just don't fancy that on that car.

Going pirouets, going down the road.

These will do.

They will have to last some time.

They really will.

If they start to wear on a corner,

I'm going to be doing some of those TikTok

videos where they're cutting into the tire

and making it new again.

I'm going to get some retransfer it.

But other than that, ridiculous cost.

Rule.

Yeah?

Yeah.

For me, I'm going to say it was a rule

because we just had Chef Fest last weekend for us.

It's been quite a few weeks away or quite a

few weeks already for you listening,

but it was a very good event.

I didn't get violently ill, so therefore it's

a great one to see for me.

I was present the entire day.

But no, we met a load of you guys,

a load of creamers, shout out to the creamers.

Many.

We were up on the stage, quick,

quick on.

Up on the stage, Alex was introducing Chef

Fest, thousands of people out in the crowd.

And he said, "Who here listens to the Autoisox podcast?"

And there was like a woooo.

I was like, dust ball.

No, there was a good amount of people.

And then he said, "Shocking",

he said.

Most of you probably listened to the cream

podcast instead.

And you guys went, there was creamers out there.

And it wasn't just like a few active,

it was, there were more people that were up for it.

So, shout out the creamers who A,

turned up and represented, but B,

just came up and said hi to us and said,

I'm creaming.

As always, not the toughest here in the wild,

but fine in the company.

And the guy who made the CD case,

the custom CD case, we'll put an overlay on

the screen, picture of it.

But, now it doesn't have any songs on it.

No.

Now, to say I was ever so slightly

disappointed at first is true,

but then I realized, recording an entire

album to give to us at a show is quite big.

I brought mine in to be in the background of

the podcast because did you see the song

names on the back?

I read through some of them,

there's some good ones.

The track does at night is on there.

It's on there.

Let me get it.

Right, I have, I have with me the album

cover, it's in a dual case and it has the big end.

up on the cover with the with the number plate cream.

It says cream, no reason to ruin as the album

name strong album name off the bat.

And then we've got 10 songs.

Number one, no reason to ruin the album's name.

It's a nice one.

Number two, then any thoughts?

Tracks at night?

No.

Number two, we come in with two rules and a ruin.

Okay.

Clean.

Number three.

Tracks at night.

Tracks at night.

Tracks at night.

Feet.

Richard Poulter.

Very good.

None's full name or is it?

I think we're probably featured on it.

Yeah, it's his song.

Number four, any thoughts?

It's Creamers Paradise.

Ooh.

Quite nice.

Tough one.

Number five, I'm sorry, Mrs.

Rogers.

Good one.

Number six, middle lane, Hogger.

Feet.

Any thoughts on who that's featuring,

Ben?

Is it me?

No, it's featuring Debbie Bingles.

Actually, sorry, Debbie Bingle,

singular, before she got married.

Number seven, Sertie Driver.

Then we go straight to number nine,

skipped out track eight, it's a rare one.

Number nine is Acon said it,

right?

She's playing that like that.

Finally finishing up with number 10,

The Big M, which is clean.

Now, he has put his at tag in

11:17 Discussion on Potential Supercar Makers

the bottom left, but it's, I can't read it,

the quality's too low, but that will live,

it will live on the set as a nice little,

as they'd be album's go.

Yeah, it's pretty strong.

albums.

Okay.

But shed fest good?

Shed fest, very good.

I also got, when I was there,

offered a reindeer of a classic from a man.

He said, I don't know much about it,

but there is a woman who used to work for Top

Gear and the Grand Tour.

She has this and he showed me a photo on his phone.

It was a black reindeer of a classic.

So he since sent me small photos and said,

I'll ask on your behalf if you'd like.

Thankfully, this episode is sponsored by the

guys at Car Vertical.

I ran the plates on a Car Vertical check.

It is interesting.

2009, we had 130 4,000 miles.

2010, we had 115,000 miles.

It was just going down just by it.

Yeah, we just went back in time.

And then in 2016, we'd gone up to 128,000 miles.

2017, we're back to 123.

Okay.

So, you know, I'll be honest,

this is the sort of stuff Car Vertical is for,

i.e.

finding cars that are dodgy.

It's not going to disturb me.

If this car is good, I'm having it.

But I have a feeling I have a look on the MIT

history, which Car Vertical also has an it's

just, it's just over and over,

a car not connected to the chassis,

offside, offside body mounting,

not working.

Where is it?

Offside rear body has slight corrosion,

offside

front body has slight corrosion.

But then it just says

corrosion everywhere.

So, you know, I'm not hopeful,

but I'm

hopeful at the same time.

Look, sometimes you get a little

bite.

You never know.

You go like, I felt like a little one,

but it could be a big fish.

It could be one.

So shout out to Car Vertical.

If you guys are buying a car van or

motorbike, as always, we tell you,

don't leave any stone unturned.

Don't get caught out on a car that would

otherwise look quite good.

But when you do a check, you find out it's

not got great history.

You can use R code CREAM for 20% off your

next Car Vertical check, bundle them

together, get 50% off.

You know the deal.

Shout out, Car Vertical.

But for me, yeah, Rule, Rule,

overall, also, when I did skids in the TVR,

it was very fun.

I did have to drive home on most tires,

so I couldn't do too many.

I was very upset about that.

We still work.

We got a couple of donuts in and a couple of

limited batches.

So, all good all around.

How shall we get on to some items?

Let's get on some things and things.

Now you have put a question in here is a

Jalopnik question.

It is which automakers should build a new supercar?

We're not starting off with bullshit.

We're starting off with something.

It's a conversation.

It's a real brain tease of this one.

But no, it's a question that I saw on there.

I used to frequent Jalopnik five times a day

when I was growing up.

Great site.

Lots of cool car stuff.

I saw it on there and thought,

that is a good question.

Ben, I think you're going to have an

interesting answer on

this because you're from a different

generation as us.

I was thinking Alfa.

Yeah, Alfa Romeo.

I guess they have never actually done a

full-on super car.

No.

I know the ASE is there.

And the 33 Stradale, which was a road car

version of a race car.

But I'd still love to see them do a full-on,

like a 4-8 hurricane.

That size kind of thing with an amazing

engine, that kind of thing.

The issue I think with them is that I think

they would be strangled by FCA,

by Stellantis, is they would go,

I can, but you are going to need to use a

4-cylinder, or you are going to have to use V6.

Or would it just be a Maserati?

Yeah, it would be.

Because the problem with any of those cars is

that they're always going to go,

they're not in the same, they're roughly in

the same family as Ferrari, right?

Yeah, but I guess that's the whole thing with

the ASE, was the ASE was essentially kind of,

not re-bodied.

Because the Gran Turismo.

It was essentially Gran Turismo.

So you had DNA from Ferrari,

really.

But you always have that thing where it's

annoying that they can't ever,

Ferrari are never going to give out for an

engine that's going to go into a car that's

going to outperform or outdo their car.

Yeah.

So they have to make it themselves,

in which case it would mean it would be very,

very expensive.

I think the problem with that question now is

really hard because there's not enough

interesting engines out there.

No, I was still BMW.

Again, BMW have never really made,

obviously the M1 kind of was a supercar.

Was that wearing a supercar?

The i8 sports car in my S11.

But BMW, I'm less excited by them doing one

now because it would have some straight,

it would be a turbo engine, it would be.

But like, they're making supercarring like

the 2000s when they had the V10s,

the V8s, even like an S54, using one of those

mad NA engines in a mid-engine thing or a big

front engine car would be cool.

I would go American because I think they're

the only ones who have the ability to do an

engine like that anymore.

Yeah, Cadillac CN, that from the early 2000s,

those were cool.

I want one of those or a new Dodge.

A Mi4 12.

A Mi4 12.

Like they always, America always had this,

this such close taste of we're building a

hypercar or a supercar.

And

then everyone go, "Okay, yeah."

And they go, "No, I've got rid of it,

we're building a Grand Am or something."

Yeah, 'cause in the UK, what we've got,

I mean, Aston are making pretty,

they're making better supercars than they've ever made.

Really?

Yes.

McLaren are making supercars anyway.

That's kind of there.

That's their deal.

You know what I would like to see?

The speed tail was good, but I would like to

see another attempt at a P1 and obviously the

center and there's a W1, but I don't feel the

same thing that I felt to it.

We've talked about it before,

whereas it's, our generation has passed in

terms of supercars.

The things that make us excited aren't there

anymore, but I still like to see a halo,

halo car.

Mercedes, what are they?

They do the AMG GT in the black series,

but they're yet to come out with trying to

think of top my head, something that's sort

of SLR McLaren or SLS level.

Yeah.

I know the AMG GT could probably say is kind

of that car, but you can get a base model AMG GT.

Whereas that's not where there is,

SLS was, it was the SLS.

Yeah, SLR was the SLR.

You couldn't go buy a basic one that was like

a 911 competitor.

So from, I think, would be cool,

especially because they still might have some

kind of cool designs.

One other thing before you go,

I want to see Volkswagen there again.

The Nardo, when the Nardo came out,

if you don't know, Ben, do you know what

Volkswagen Mardo is?

No idea.

They made, they nearly had it all.

Volkswagen made, now for audio listeners,

you're going

to be not going to be able to see it.

But it was a, how do you even explain it?

Kind of the shape of kind of Mercy Lago in

shape, very similar to Lago back,

and a very short snout from,

but they, and it was essentially the W12,

it was their way of kind of showing the W12

off quite a smiley guy.

I think they made one working prototype

because there was, another one was called a

synchro, I want to say, but oh,

that would have just been, it would have been

brother to the Veyron, I always think,

in my head when I think about the Nardo,

but Volkswagen doing it today,

going all right, all that diesel get stuff done now.

Watch this, and then using the full force of

VAG, you know, parts, having all of them and

going, how are you going to do this for me?

Porsche, you're going to do this for me.

A building, an Uber car would be cool.

I guess Audi actually would be good.

Audi, because again, they've killed the R8.

All right, dead.

So there's no them coming out with something

else, because the R8, I mean,

why?

How well was that received really there?

When did that come out, what,

'07?

And they made it for God knows how long,

almost 20 years, and even the designs are

basically timeless.

So a new R8 would be cool.

But I can't think of anyone else.

And the R9, hey, Ben, we've used up basically

all of the other cars and given you time,

what are you going to say?

Well, I don't really have any of the brands left.

I'm going to get a comment going.

What an awful take, I don't care.

Lamborghini, 'cause I would argue they don't

make supercars anymore.

They make hypercars.

Okay, right, so we're saying.

A supercar, I'm talking like a,

even like a horror car.

But you wouldn't say, you think a Temerario?

It's a Powerless Power.

It's a Hypercar.

It's Hypercar.

It's hybrid.

But it goes not 16.8 of a second,

not true at all.

But I want to see, I want to see some actual,

not just a thousand, everything's the most power now.

It's all what I will consider a hypercar.

Everything's going to be that now.

Now that has to be hybrid.

Don't do it.

Ooh, that's what I'm saying.

Who's up for else?

All of the people inside Lamborghini.

All right, you have to something here.

I do not think of that.

I just

20:13 Lamborghini's Shift to Hypercars

think it's excessive for...

I agree.

You can't use it.

You're taking the soul away from it and all

you're getting is just speed.

Do you know what?

I will, I will say from being in some more

modern cars that are like that,

where their whole thing is just being fast,

they do lose their differentiation,

if that makes sense.

Like if you drive an E46 M3,

that is a straight six NA sports car thing,

and then you go and drive the TBR,

which on paper, the only difference is a

couple hundred CC's.

It sounds just the sound alone completely different.

The way that it delivers the power completely

different, X, Y, Z, all different.

But I feel like now that if you get in like a

Porsche, a fast Porsche, and then you get in

like a fast Lamborghini, they almost start to

feel and sound the same.

You shouldn't be able to do that.

They should be completely different animals.

It's just quick.

Speed, speed.

But when are you using a thousand most power?

I'm not.

I'm in.

Hey, I haven't driven in supercars.

So why even listen to me?

But I think that you're getting rid of

anything that makes it special just to make it quick.

I think everyone's just chasing the electric

car thing now.

Nothing comes out with an interesting enough.

My thing is engine still.

There'll be lots of people that won't,

not won't care about it, but they'll care

that they like the 40 to twin turbo.

V8 or whatever it's going to be.

But previously, when you're thinking it back

to the Golden Days, when you think of like

C.R.E.G, less like SLR McLaren,

because I guess they used a standard engine,

but things like the C.R.E.G.T,

where they just go, we just made this new

engine for this.

The only way to do that now is by going into GMA.

So the price point is now way higher for that

level of special stuff.

So you're saying BMW and Lamborghini?

I'm saying just, yeah, car makers like I

mean, BMW was an example, like what you were

saying of just a car maker that could make a

supercar with what they have,

but haven't really before.

I'm talking about like the traditional

supercar companies, your Ferrari,

your Lamborghinis, these guys who are now

just making just hair dryers with engine.

And it's good.

I'm not saying they're cool still and they're

stuff, but it just doesn't, you don't feel anything.

I want to feel something.

Do you reckon you'd feel more in like Will's

mercy than you would?

Yeah, sorry, Will's potential mercy.

is the other one that doesn't exist.

Then like a Revuelto?

I'll make a claim.

I think you will feel, I think the speed is irrelevant.

There's nothing to do with that.

It will be quicker.

I'll probably be more scared in Revuelto,

of course, but you know, it's not,

that's the speed of it will become

unenjoyable quite quickly.

Whereas like the most logo is everything

about it is like an event.

Can you hear it?

I'll just remember the latest Doug De Miro beef.

Oh, I came across a clip from his podcast,

not shoes.

This is not shoe related.

He was ranking, oh, the crazy dude on a

podcast as well.

Sorry guys, just my accent.

He was ranking the best V12 Lamborghini,

basically.

So there's what five is Mura Kuntash Diablo.

Where's your logo?

Maschilago, Aventador.

Five, six, even.

But he said that the Revuelto looks better

than the Aventador.

What?

Doug Mate, Doug Mate, I think he knows what he's doing.

But it's not, it's not to engagement,

mate.

Just to cream, mate.

Yeah, he's just trying to get his,

he's like, if they talk about it.

He's an avid listener.

He's like, right, I need to get some numbers up.

Let's get these creamers over to my podcast

and just rallying against me.

Doug Mate, what are you talking about?

I just, I don't think the Revuelto is a bad

looking car, but does it?

Aventador's a great looking car.

Also, I think it, it goes back to this.

I, this was my, we've had this,

I've had this argument for years and years.

I believe there is a difference between a

good looking car or like a beautiful looking

car and a cool looking car.

Those are two different things to me.

So it depends what he's saying,

which way you're going.

Cause if you're saying like good looking,

a Revuelto does not even start to be on that list.

It's not good looking.

There are no lines.

It is angry.

It's Gioro curved lines of bullshit.

That's what he said.

That is, but it doesn't look good.

Any, any model or any, any artist would look

at that and go, no, there's,

there's a lot going on.

Yeah.

Whereas if you're saying cool,

yeah.

Okay.

Now, now it can go on that list.

I understand it.

I can't remember how he put that list,

but I think it was a vented or bottom possibly.

Ben go rank the best V12.

Okay.

Listen

again.

So you've got, starting off with the mirror.

I'll

list them.

You put it in a place.

How many, how many are

left?

There are six.

So mirror, the original.

How about start?

Start Revuelto, because that's your bag.

Yeah, so we're back in time.

Revuelto, I'm putting Revuelto as the last one.

So number six.

And then we'll go back to the beginning mirror.

And you can choose whichever version you'd like.

Oh, I'm going to, you don't feel much to

watch the mirror.

I don't feel much to watch the mirror.

I'll get a shout out if I say.

Just where you want it.

No, no, it's your list, bro.

Three.

Okay.

Three, okay.

Three, so three and six taken.

Couldn't hash

again any version you want.

I can appreciate it, but I'm not of that era.

I don't feel much to it.

So I'm putting that at four.

Wow.

Interesting.

And next up is a Diablo.

Diablo is going in five.

Diablo in five?

Oh, well, second to last.

At all, and in number.

Where am I?

Mercy logo.

Sorry.

Two.

Events at all.

One.

Crazy.

Okay.

I felt like I thought that was,

I felt, I felt that.

I didn't expect.

I didn't expect to mirror above Countach,

though.

I feel like in your mind that I could have

gone either way.

Well, actually, when I think about it,

I, the, again, this is my opinion on,

and it comes from, from a thousand different

places of what I've seen growing up on that.

That sort of thing.

Maybe it's the lamborghini you grew up with.

Interesting.

We could make that a running thing.

But I'm not saying that any worse,

I don't know much about them,

spec-wise.

I just like the events, though,

the most.

No, but I think, I think there's going to be

a lot of people that essentially agree with you.

I think that's going to be

that your list is probably how a lot of

people would have their list.

And the mirror, I, I like it.

I just like it, though.

I think you're saying, mostly longer one.

Diablo two, or is it a vented or two?

It would be a big toss up, but it could be

either on either days.

I would probably.

There he is.

On the screen right now, there is.

There is a.

There is a.

It's on the list, there's one on the game

behind us, which is Gran Turismo 5.

Only for the license list.

I would go, mostly longer Diablo.

I then.

A vented or.

Right.

And then I think you'll go in Tash.

Oh.

Mura.

And then Revuelto.

I think the mirror is the probably one of the

best looking Oh, and.

No, that's crazy.

For all the listeners, the Gran Turismo

license tests behind us.

I just put this on randomly.

Was a Mercial Argo SV before,

and it went straight into a swordfish blue TBR tasket.

What the hell is going on?

The next one better be a V12 vintage for old

Betty Bingles.

The mirror is one of the best looking out of

all of them to me.

But I don't.

I don't wish to drive one or own one.

Right.

And I've heard that from a lot of people who

have driven them.

They're either a scared that it's going to go

up in flames.

and be that it just doesn't drive that well.

You said this one looks.

No, no, but I mean, I was thinking in terms

of which ones I'd like to like.

It's kind of all of those things.

It's like which one that that's what mostly

I'll go from these top obviously.

And then that's why it's a toss up between

Diablo and Aventador because I'd quite like

to drive both.

But driving a Diablo would feel,

I think, more special than an Aventador and

it's more like Pete Clambagini than an

Aventador to me.

Whereas Aventador is, it's still got it,

but it's quite modern.

And then mirror and Countach could probably

trade places, but I just think a Countach,

an early Countach for me, is one of the best

looking car of all time.

I want to make clear that my list was based on looks.

Okay.

I thought that was what it was.

You vain, horrible person.

I thought it was based on which one you think

looks first.

Yes.

Thanks for that podcast segment,

Doug's Miro.

We'll be stealing that and doing Ferraris next week.

Yeah, we'll be missing your podcast on the way home.

We won't.

Well, officially started.

But I do watch your clips.

Right.

Ben.

Hi, this is for you.

Here we go.

I hope you've come prepared once more.

We'll find out.

You've said here IKEA T50.

What?

There is a page Instagram called worst spec.

A great page, which basically they have

dedicated their lives.

I respect this to finding supercars and rare

cars and cars of all sorts.

They're in the worst spec.

This is a GMAT 50.

Now, hold on, actually.

Will hasn't seen this, I'll just put it on screen.

What do you think the worst spec GMAT 50 could be?

Now, we're going to give it all quite normal.

Okay, so it's a two-ten exterior.

Well, you've said IKEA.

Well, because they are.

My brain was saying when you said IKEA,

it was going to be blue on the outside,

yellow on the inside.

Now, that's bad, right?

That would be bad.

A blue on the outside, yellow on the inside car.

Allow me to be worse.

So that is the upper 50% of the car is yellow.

The rear kind of clamshell bit is blue.

But then the fan is yellow and there's a blue

stripe running up the middle,

but then there's a smaller yellow stripe

within that stripe.

Just all over the place, I will show up to my spline.

Is that a spline like that?

Is it yellow?

Red and blue?

Red is not blue.

Right, but he looks like a transformer,

I've seen all that buzz.

Now, I'm going to make a claim.

Oh, don't say like it.

I don't think it's real.

I think someone's photoshopped that.

I have this, I don't think GMA would let that out.

But there's been some pretty poor,

when you think of like Koenigseggs and the

Paganis, there's been some rotten spec on it as well.

I know, but that's what I feel like surely

Gordon's saying, no.

Should we, Gordon?

Yes.

Gordon putting his foot down and going,

no, we cannot do this.

We'll reach out to GMA's press team for

comment and at the bottom it will say,

but there's Gordon one coming from the podcast.

Gordon Gordon come out to play.

I just don't think he'd allow it.

I think he would, because I think the

publicity of it is-- I think money speaks to loudest.

Yeah, but the money's already there.

lining up to buy, like they were sold out straight away.

You could always find someone else.

I think I feel like someone has taken

liberties with Photoshop on this.

I'd be, I'd be glad, no, I wouldn't be glad

to be proved wrong.

I would be upset to be proved wrong.

But what is on the screen behind it?

And also the blue goes into the interior,

which is why it does in theory look real,

because look at the blue, the blue goes into

the interior.

It's a purple dash with a yellow stripe up

the middle of the dash.

It's, it's a rough one.

I think so.

Someone has, has had a play around with gone.

I reckon I can get posted on worst spec if I

had it this.

But what Ben?

I think that they would like it.

Cause I think the brand, it makes the brand,

what's the word?

People, it's brand recognition.

More such thing as bad, plub,

plub.

That's the one, plub, plub.

Now, I will say I do wholeheartedly believe

is that no one likes this.

Even the person who's spected,

it doesn't like it.

They just basically when I'm going to take the piss.

You know the people who look at this stuff

psychologically.

Yeah.

colors work together.

Yeah.

This is why things have like people like

decorate houses and lots of this way.

You wear clothes in this way.

Surely your human brain isn't functioning correctly.

If you look at that and go, "Yeah,

that's great."

But that's why I think it's fantastic.

I think it's, you know, it's color blind.

You're going to say like, or just blind.

I love the gray over the lighter gray.

I think that's a really nice contrast on this.

I'm actually quite happy with that.

A good one.

How do we tell him?

I don't know how we tell him this.

Just put it in the production,

just let it go.

Yeah, you know, that is, it's an FU car,

which is, I think it's like a,

like a, you can, you can say what you like,

but I've got a T50.

That's what I do.

I like that.

I think we set it on, we saw it on the 911 ST

that said, the door kit plates said,

"Your mum."

Yeah.

And then I think it said 69 somewhere on it.

And it was like, "Hey, it's,

because he's gone, I don't care."

Because I can.

Literally that.

Yeah.

But I'm hoping it's not real.

Hopefully we will, we will update as it goes,

but that's rough.

That's a tough one.

Now this will even be the least valuable T50

ever to be sold or will be the most valuable people.

If it does what F1s do, McLaren F1s,

it will go to the next owner and then we'll

get sent back to GMA and it will get respect

because that is what you can do with them.

So I hope to never see that because there

was, oh no, I've just remembered,

there was a McLaren F1 and it's chassis 40,

no, it might not be a chassis 14,

but it is, it was an incredible spec.

It was black, it had the LM kit,

so the five spoke wheels, like just beautiful.

got bought, I think it was a Russian

billionaire or a billionaire of some sort and

they repainted it, white with a red stripe up

the middle with a smaller white stripe down

the middle of that and then they crashed it

and then it went to MSO and has been rebuilt since.

So I'm wondering, please, no,

not like this, not like this.

Hey, it all adds to car law,

I guess.

Also, is that a Gen 1?

I thought it was a Cayenne in the background,

but I think it's a Bentayga.

That's a horrific spec.

That's a DBX.

No, I'm looking at the one on the ramp anyway.

Ben, this is big.

Edwin and I have been waiting with a baited breath.

It's not as exciting as you think,

but go on.

Okay, so earlier on, in the week you put in

here, Rogers versus Bristol,

back for round three.

Everyone loves a sequel.

I

got home the other day.

Wait, hold on, can you do a 10 second

submarine for people who do not know?

Oh God, I had nine 10 seconds,

but I'll try and do it in maybe under a minute.

I have a Honda S2000.

This Honda S2000 is not Ulez compliant in

Bristol, which is where I live.

You have to drive into the center of the city.

You must pay nine pounds a day if your car

doesn't reach certain emissions standard.

The S2000 did not, from factory,

officially read that because it was made

before the regulations came in,

but I proved to, I think got fined many times.

I proved to Bristol that actually,

despite not being registered as that,

it did meet their requirements,

they made a Ulez compliant.

Golf actually, from a factory,

is Ulez compliant.

And for some reason, Bristol City Council

said this car here, this is not Ulez compliant.

I then received upwards of 10 PCNs.

I appealed it again.

I had to, at this time, a great ends to,

even though this, ironically,

this car actually is Ulez.

I had to go for a whole process of trying to prove it.

It was Ulez.

Finally did, it's not Ulez.

I arrested at the end of this long--

There couldn't be any more issues.

I thought you'd put your feet up,

mate.

Oh, done.

I can finally arrest.

Ben, the other day I got home to two letters.

(laughing) And I was talking to my mum at the time.

I thought my day was, I thought,

yeah, 'cause she went, oh, there's two

letters here for you.

I went, cool, man.

I opened them up.

And they're white letters, not brown letters,

like, so you can get from the DBLA,

so I'm like, cool.

I'm chatting, whatever.

I open it up, and I just pause.

I just see PCN inquiry, whatever,

whatever.

Now, just a quick pause.

Yeah.

What were the first words you said when you saw it?

Out loud.

Like, what did your mum hear?

I think I just laughed.

I think I went, huh, no.

No, 'cause I, the way I imagined it

immediately was Ben listening,

opening a piece of paper, and he went,

no, that's great.

I said that too, man.

(laughs)

Yeah.

And so what it was is that the PCNs for the

Golf, some of the most recent ones,

they confirm, I haven't been writing that the

car is Ulens could comply and that they will

cancel the PCNs.

Of course.

So what do they do?

They didn't cancel.

They canceled all but two.

Okay.

So now, I have received two letters saying,

"Hey, man, "what, where's the money?"

Oh, so the price has gone up.

The price is now the full price plus,

and if I don't pay it, I now can't appeal,

and if I don't pay it, then they threaten all

kinds of stuff.

How much?

I think it's like 180 pounds each,

that's 360.

And they add another half again if I don't

pay it for like a week or two weeks.

So what's the solution?

So I called them and I said,

"What?"

And they went, "Oh, hello, Ben,

how's the family?

"Haven't I heard of you?"

I was like, "I found my phone."

I was like, "Surely no."

Well, well, well.

And the first thing I thought was great

podcast, I sent that message as I was open

the second letter.

For context, in our podcast chat,

it is a message that says, "Ben Rogers versus

Bristol Council back for round three."

And that a reply from me that says,

"Surely not."

And one from Ben that just says,

"We're so back."

So, yeah.

And then with you, Les finds,

I mean, it's a final effect of the government.

So you will, they will send bailiffs round.

They will steal your things.

So they're 160 pounds worth of stuff from you.

Exactly.

So they might sell the S2000.

Fingers crossed.

No, so I called them and I said,

"What are you doing today?"

And then I had to go, and then I had an automated system.

So it says, "Please speak in a simple sentence."

Like what you want.

So I shouted at it about eight times the same

thing and it said, "Can't do that."

And hung up on me.

And you went, you went, right.

So I had this hard rest of the thousand.

And then I, you thought it wasn't you Les,

but it's you Les.

And now I have what was golf and you thought

it was you.

And they basically, then you can go,

so then you can call the police.

You can call basically either the National

Center for you.

The National Center for you Les control,

not what it's called at all.

Basically it's a National Ulez

people.

NASA, yeah.

Who deal all the zones.

They can't

do anything.

They can just give you information on where

the zone is and that's by it.

Or you can call Bristol one specifically.

Sorry, hold on.

So you phone them up and they go,

"Hi, how you doing?"

"Yeah, I'm very, very well."

Can you help me with this?

They go, "I can't help you with that."

But that road, you know, like Stephen's Road,

that's in.

Yeah, and they go, "Yeah, and they're right,

yeah."

And they're outside of that?

Can't help you with that.

Can't tell if you've been into the zone or not.

They can't, no, they can't, they can't tell

if there's PCNs that have been issued,

but then you can't then appeal the PCN over

the phone or do anything about it.

They don't have to go.

So the people who actually deal with the

PCNs, untraceable, I believe they're locked

in a dark room and you can't contact them.

CI, black site.

Am I five agents?

Yeah, they're definitely off the continent

somewhere, in a secret lab.

So I called them lab.

The local, I managed to get through on that

ultimate system to a actual person.

I spoke to a very helpful lady actually,

who basically told me, who agreed,

and was like, "Yo, what is going on?"

Like this is crazy.

And then said to me, "Not to worry,

what I'll do for you is I'll send a little

email from our end."

Basically said, "Who's with me?"

I sent an email over to the actual PCN people

saying these need canceling.

This was last Friday.

You were never Monday.

It was Wednesday.

Nothing.

That's why I'm liable to lock charges apparently.

Don't worry, Ben.

I've got you.

But the phone element.

You've just turned around and looked at a

pair of bailiffs and said, "Oh,

you guys, son."

Yeah.

And then go get him, Tiger.

Today I sat on hold and no one picked up.

Sounds great too.

So it's going well then.

So we could be, you know what,

next week we might be in for some more.

Yeah.

Well, I hope not.

But tomorrow I'll be calling them and saying,

"What's going on, please?"

This is nice.

You know what?

Will and I said at the other day,

you are a forever, never ending content machine.

I just don't understand it.

You turn the biggest W into small L's.

Just like that.

That's thousands of small L's.

You say they're dicing up W's,

turning into tiny little L's to talk about the podcast.

It started to feel personal.

Yeah.

No, I think they're coming for you.

I think they're literally going after you.

Don't know who you are.

I don't know who you are.

So hopefully by the next podcast,

we might have some movement.

Well, she confirmed to me over the phone.

So I have no proof.

She did say to me, those will definitely be

canceled because your car is you.

Let's comply.

And it is compliant.

Are you being pranked?

Yeah.

Someone's just calling you again.

You are a foreign quid.

Then goes, no, I

don't hear them.

I also do.

180 quid.

That's, oh, no, not again.

It's a drawing of Ben's car.

Just look, you drove here this time.

I will watch this story with a great interest.

Very much.

I look forward to

40:39 Van Life Critique and Hotel Preferences

the conclusion.

It feels like a series goes on for so long.

Everyone's wondering how the finale is going

to go down.

Yeah.

That's how it is with this.

It's going to be disappointing.

It's going to be the end of this promise.

It's just going to go black halfway through a podcast.

Oh, spoilers.

I'm not.

Hey, listen.

Everyone dies in the end, hopefully.

I'm not just like, I'm not just,

being negative to the British City Council.

He's playing the other side now.

He's hoping whatever her name is,

is listening going.

All right.

Call it off, though.

I'm giving, I'm giving, on his feedback and

my experience, which has been a tough one for

a man that bought a Euro six compliant car

and just drove it through a city.

They said, you need to meet these regulations

and you're okay.

You did that.

And they went, hold on a second.

What are you doing?

How can we get him?

Okay.

Job fair enough.

You know, I'll cancel them.

But I'll leave those two.

Yeah.

Just see what happens.

Just, just add a pot a little bit.

Yeah.

Lovely.

Well, we'll, yeah, we will watch your career

with great interest.

Yeah.

Next up, Edwin, you're putting here van life M.F.S.

Right.

I would like a small rant.

Okay.

We, we tend to make fun of lots of people on

this podcast.

Yeah.

And I always tend to see a few comments

saying, what, why is it that you're right about this?

We're not.

I'm just, these are just my opinion.

I don't have to be right.

I am right about it, but I don't,

I don't necessarily have to be.

Why, why is it that people who live in vans

or drive around in vans all day going to things?

No, no, no, these are the ones that have like

beds in them.

Okay.

Right.

Some sort of scruffy dog can always live with

them, can for the conversions.

Why do they have to try so hard to convince

me that they're having fun?

Yes, sir.

All, all over these vans like that is just,

is, I wrote down what I saw.

This is on the way up to heading up to a shed

fest was a van that said, "Home is where we park."

And then on the other side, it said,

"Living our best life."

Shut up.

You know what it is.

If your life is so incredible,

go do it.

Why do you, you spent time painting down the

side of a van, living my best life.

I don't care.

Do you, do motorsports, do motorsport cars

have, I'm going really fast down the side there.

No, just go in your van, just drive off.

I cannot fathom it.

It feels like the, you know,

in the thing, I think you said it,

Ben, where it's like people that post lots

about like their relationship.

Or even like about friends, like,

I've got so many friends, look at me with my

friends, they're probably the most miserable

or not in all cases, but just in a lot.

Because it's like, I need, I need this

outward, I need you to go, of course he's having fun.

I've seen correlation to this.

He's shitting into a hole in the ground.

Of course he is.

This is my point.

I, at any one time, I'm sure there are,

there are good points to van.

I

can't think of a positive.

The one positive is that you

have the freedom to go where you like.

But then at the end

of the day, when you are tired and you just

want to go to

bed, you have to go and take a turd in a bucket.

Here's my problem.

All the gear summed up.

My problem is, is that for people that want

to do this properly and comfortably,

they spend a lot of money on these fans.

So much money.

So much money.

Now, hotels, in some cases, it depends where

you go and how big of a hotel and fancy you

want to go.

But you see your humble premier in.

What do you want?

Air B and B.

No, go like holiday in express.

Are they the same?

I thought that was.

Go budget hotel.

Because think of van.

Do you get in the same experience here?

A van is not.

It's not spacious.

It's not.

I love a hotel hotel.

But like a hotel hotel, because there's standards.

I agree, Matt.

Ibis style.

Oh, and I we've had a couple of nights at Ibis.

Yeah, yeah.

When it comes to budget hotels,

anyone has worked a car for a lot of TDC.

We are we are experts.

We go.

We're sought by lowest.

Always sought by lowest.

Someone's a park.

Someone's a sleep.

Who that I don't have to take home.

And I also, there might be a nice meal there as well.

I could possibly have a restaurant or a

breakfast in the morning instead of literally

waking up where I shot.

Oh, dinner with the smell of fresh dirt.

Can I go to the other end of it?

The really annoys me as well.

It's particularly Americans.

People in their vans taking two steps.

People in particular, particularly in

America, you know, like an RV.

But what does it extend and go out?

Yeah.

Buy a house.

There is it.

Okay.

Because, but hang on, because you,

what you've done there is you've bought every

luxury of your house with you and therefore

you just have a house and it gets what it

costs more than the house.

But hit.

Okay.

But I in America, I can slightly get it more

because you drive vast distances,

thousands of miles and you're not even at the other side.

You drive to the other side of the country

tonight to sleep.

By the time you get home, you'll have driven

most of the breadth of the UK.

I've had it before where I think about like,

I look at a musician's touring sketch.

You want to go?

Yeah, they're playing Nottingham that line.

And the next night, they're playing in Birmingham.

How they going to do that?

Like, they've got to go from there and then

you realize that it's like an hour and 10 minutes away.

If that, basically anywhere in the UK is

within four or five hours with fine.

I just, you know, it's not so much the vans

that I don't like.

Oh, I don't like the vans at all.

I hate them.

But fine, if you'd like them.

But why are you trying to just stop trying to

convince me that I'm missing out when I know

I'm not just go shit in peace on the cliff of Zevdova.

And they've had to extend it normally just to

stand up in it.

You get a van and I can't fit in here.

I have to make it taller.

People made things to live in and sleep in.

You're not really in the houses,

hotels, hell.

They're a super cheap places to go and stay

in a hostel.

I'd rather stay in a hostel than a van and

that saying something.

Agreed.

I would agree.

I don't know if I would.

I would.

I don't want.

But the hostel costs not a lot.

No van.

How much is the cheapest van?

Five grand, let's say.

Oh, no, I meant like it's done.

Even to an animal suspect.

Because most people do it themselves.

See, okay.

Now, that is something I will say.

If it's a project, you and your loved ones or

you and your kids have done together to

build, I can again, I can get a little bit of that.

But I don't want to be a part of it.

But be, that's not what I see the majority of

out on the road.

Out on the road, I see these expensive as

behemoth of things that are over 100 grand in

a lot of cases.

Who's paying that?

Who's spending that money?

I guess you can't finance a hotel night,

though.

Whereas you can finance one of those.

It's still going to be money,

but what I'm saying is, I guess people's

argument to not going in a hotel is that they

can't afford outright to go and do that X

times a year.

But let's say it's 20K minimum.

Surely it's 20K minimum to set up a van.

I know you could probably do it cheaper than

that you're buying new stuff,

making stuff yourself, but still 10 grand minimum.

You could do some lovely holidays.

Oh, some really lovely things.

Oh, you could say some like Evian B's are lovely.

You can stay in someone's house.

I have a question of people who build their

own vans, and please genuinely answer me this

in the comments.

Why is it that you go to great lengths for

everything but your bed?

It's like, oh yeah, I shimmed off this bit of

metal and this little bit of the van here,

and I cut this wood specific side so I can

keep my knives and forks in a smaller space.

and therefore I can put my milk in more space.

And then they go, and the bed's over there

and it's sort of an inch from the ceiling and

then it's a single bed.

But I can poo with a bit more space.

I cannot turn around at night.

Yeah.

That to me was surely the most important thing.

Do you know what?

All the gear came to us the other week and

said, can we do a video with you where we

make you really uncomfortable and make you camp?

I hope they never get this back to them.

I think we're going to make them camp in a van.

People sleeping in their van,

they make it.

Now a tool fits in a toolbox.

It only fits in that space.

Yeah.

That's how they make it in the van.

That's where I fit.

That's just enough room.

Top and tail side by side for you and maybe

your partner if you've been very fortunate

enough to get one with your van life.

Then I just find it so tough.

I don't know if I've told this story

anywhere, but at Carf Rule, we did a video

where we had one of those van life campers.

It was like a 150 grand.

And we built the Vaneo, Mercedes Vaneo,

which was under a grand, which had a hammock

that I welded.

in.

It was a rough one.

And Alex was in the Vaneo and Jack

and I were in the van life van.

And in the middle of the

night, the handbrake came off on a hill and

we rolled down a hill.

And so I woke up.

This is probably why I hate them.

So I have PTSD from it.

I was on a two normal like airline seats or

like train seats, turned sideways and folded

down so that you could lay across it.

But there was a space in the middle that was lower.

So it was horrible.

So I basically let none at all.

But I woke up from my very small amount of

sleep to movement.

And my brain immediately went,

"Why am I bed moving?"

And I did not consider the van was moving.

I considered that someone was moving my bed.

And I sat up and I just, and I saw the light

that we had, we had some lights outside the

thing just disappearing slowly away.

And at that point, Jack woke up at the same

time and he just went, "We're rolling."

And I jumped.

I jumped from the back part of the van.

and threw the middle of the front seat and

pulled the handbrake back up.

It was a big hill, but we were on quite a large hill.

Jack, both Jack and me, would not be alive.

They would be, "TDC not exist,

all the gear not exist gone."

It would be you and Ethan doing a channel

about to fly, perhaps it's wings.

And, but my favorite part of the story that I

think about quite a lot is that Alex would

have woken up in the morning,

looked out the window for the day.

We were, even, would have been gone,

just gone completely.

Woken up to a police cordon,

two dead bodies, and then he was left up.

That was not us.

And then he just got out of a veneo.

So, anyway, enjoy your van, people.

Yeah, look, I'm sure you will all have

benefits and feel free to put those benefits

in the comments, but I don't see myself

enjoying any of those benefits anytime soon.

No,

51:15 Motorway Traffic Annoyances and Broken Down Cars

give me a lovely comfortable premiere in.

I never premiere in.

Give me whatever the one- Or the print.

The one- Which ever one Lenny Henry picks up?

That's obviously premiering.

That's the one that- Yes, although I've

become quite expensive these days.

How many?

It's where you stay.

That probably is true.

Oh, Ben and I stayed in one in Tamworth.

Jeep.

That was a tough one.

Which one was that?

The one before DT performance.

Yeah, a lot of our hotel trips,

I've sort of blocked out my memory.

We've had a few good ones recently.

Maybe at some point we'll share some stories.

We have one recently where every in Edwin-

That makes it sound like we're sharing the room.

Well, a car for a week.

We did every in a lot of times.

Ben and I shared a bed one.

We did share a bed one.

Oh my God.

That is true.

That is how cheap car for a world.

Yeah, it was a tough one.

I remember a first trip and they got told we

have a hotel and then I remember being told

you're just sharing.

Also, remember that we filmed for like 12

hours that day or we want to go sleep and

then it's just you're another six foot man.

Yeah, Ben put pillows between us.

Not true.

That's not true.

Are you telling me that's not true?

I was scared what might happen.

I know you very well.

But we have one recently where we before,

where we go, Sukar driver thing the other

day, where we were told we had the exact same room.

Now that was quite funny.

My room was a normal hotel room with a double bed.

Yeah.

But quite maybe styled, styled in the 1940s,

executed in 1960s.

And then just stopped.

Yeah.

And then Edwin's room was a modern room with four beds.

With four double beds.

Four double beds.

But the guy took great pains to tell us

you've got the exact same room.

He said to us, when giving us keys,

he has number 15, number 16.

They're both identical rooms.

I think he was having fun with it.

Because I think he was hoping the next

morning we go, I was sure we were.

So same as mine.

Meanwhile, the first the storybook type room

that I had.

All of a twist.

You could have invited friends over.

Yeah.

You could have subletted your hotel room.

But as I love that hotel, I can only describe

it as any episode of Gordon Ramsay Kitchen Nightmares.

That is the hotel.

Perfect.

I do love, do love a motorway side hotel.

There is always a story.

Almost a sort of motel type of beach.

Yeah.

Next up, this is more ranting.

It will be more ranting.

Okay.

This is from Edwin Choppers on the M40 again.

Right.

Sort of helicopters or maybe a motorbike.

No, no, no, no different type.

Sometimes you get stuck in traffic.

We've talked about it many, many times before.

And we, this time, Will and I were going up to Shedfest.

We got stopped.

Basically the moment we got onto the M40.

Now, the M40, God's motorway,

you make progress on the M40.

There is absolutely no reason for there to

ever be a stoppage on the M40.

There's no speed limit, is there?

They're asking why that is.

There's no speed limit.

There's no gantries, which means everyone

starts slamming brakes.

There's very few places for unavoidable

objects or things to come out of nowhere.

It's just clear and it just goes and it's nice.

I'm doing 70 at all times.

Even in the 30, no, no, no, no.

M40 is just clear.

I like that it just moves.

We got stopped almost instantly.

I was like, this is weird.

There isn't usually a reason to stop here.

I saw traffic up ahead and I was like,

okay, I was sitting there.

We sat for maybe 20 minutes.

Coming up for half an hour.

We're talking sat still.

Sat still and then every few minutes you'd

move a car.

Didn't we have a traffic person stopping them out?

No.

Okay.

There was no traffic person stopping them out

of the way.

What was happening then on our side?

Badger.

Yeah.

Okay.

Any other or someone just stopped someone.

Yeah.

I don't know for this.

I'll just stop.

No, nothing.

Oh, nothing.

Not a single thing was happening on our side.

What was happening on the other side?

Someone broken down.

Aha.

And there it is, folks.

I was baffled.

I don't actually believe there's much that

makes me more angry in this world.

It just, what are you doing?

You're, I just, oh man, I don't have words

that are appropriate for a podcast.

How is someone else broken down on the motorway?

For you to go, I'm going to stop us all.

Cause we all, my life is so boring.

I need to have a look at this.

Hundreds of people.

I got to get a look at this.

It's a, it's a C3, is it?

Oh yeah.

Oh, is he dead?

Amazing.

I'm going to tell my mates.

You're, you're all weird.

If, if, if that's you.

No crash, no nothing.

Just a man who'd broken down in the outside

lane with his car and hadn't moved over yet.

I had it against it.

No, it's day I was late.

That was, again, the same thing I mentioned a

few podcasts ago.

Other side of the motorway.

Quite a bad crash.

Because the motorway was stopped.

Like fully stopped.

Got to go and past it.

Everyone sound on brakes.

Have a look.

Just go have, you have issues.

I will set it before I say it again.

You have issues.

We, we, we've talked about it.

Gantry guns, they will become enforceable.

The moment you vote us to TDC,

you vote us to Parliament.

You know, when TDC, the TDC party comes to

power, everyone's getting shot that slows down.

I'm going to make you a magical staircase

like Harry Potter.

It just moves your piece of road.

Rehabilitate you.

Into a field.

You just, you just get moved off.

Yeah.

Or catapulted.

You know, like an old school type Trebuchet.

Yeah.

I want the, I want the traffic officer to

usher you onto into like the DBSA checkpoint

and just load you up onto a Trebuchet and fly

you off into a field.

I mean, we crush you.

I'm going to have something else.

Here we go.

I'm going to rehabilitate you.

Okay.

So for example, that where people are so

interested by a broken down car,

I'm going to create a grandstand just next to it.

If you look at it for too long,

you must, you'll be ushered off motorway.

You must park your car in a car park where

just as an added bonus,

57:02 Helping Broken Down Drivers

you can't find your car again.

I mean, life's difficult.

And you'll have to sit in the grandstand for

eight to 12 hours and look at it.

But at the crash, the clean up,

all that sort of stuff.

The crash, I won't allow that one.

We can go over your method because that makes

you a morally bad person.

Yeah.

Okay.

The broken down person, I'm just going to let

you sit there.

Okay.

If it's so interesting, you can sit there for 12 hours.

Would you, would it be that car or would you

take them to somewhere where there is just a

broken down car just sitting there and they

must do 12 hours of looking?

Yes.

and they can't, and they can know how to fix it.

Oh, okay.

It'd be something really simple.

Wow.

So the next time they go, let me have a go.

I don't know what to do with this.

I mean, like they have to sit there.

I can fix this.

I could just get a sword, but you can't.

Maybe that's why they're slowing down because

they're going, what is that?

Right.

C3.

I know the dizzies go on those.

Do you need a hand?

Have you got one?

I can come over.

I can do it.

And they go, no, I don't.

You go, sorry, can't help me.

My tools have I just wait here.

And if I need to just sort of appear,

I'll help.

Or it's like you and you came up from that crash.

And this is just open the boot and let the

tools spell out.

I know what the guy that crashed.

Yeah.

I saved his life.

What are you talking about?

Saved his life.

Hey, you messed up his boot and got him an angle grinder.

All right.

What did you do?

Me, peacefully, peacefully and made unaware,

blissfully unaware, we know of Ben at the crash site.

Oh, where's Edwin?

Are you rubbing eggs?

Yeah, it's crazy.

You should have carried on.

Oh, I should just plan into the flip to car.

You should just carried on, driven around him.

Come on, come on.

No, thanks.

I'm not rubbing egging.

Thank you very much.

People trying to help him.

You're morally bad people, by the way.

I had machine gun you to death.

Thank you very much.

I thought I was actually a nice thing I did

for that guy.

I think it was done.

Left.

Probably not true.

You can't park there.

I would have, I would have gone to try and

fix the car.

I have a mental image of what I

look like.

No, I'd say to, I get someone else there and

be like, you're taking care of the woman,

the woman.

You're taking care of the man in the car.

Yeah.

I'm going to go, I'm going to see what I can

do about this car now.

Be like, rear wheel bearing is looking a bit

short, spinning in while it's upside down.

Feel filter looks old.

Yeah.

Your tank straps are a bit rusty.

One year crash.

You're pointing out his tires going out to be

six points, Jesus.

Next up, I think on this same trip,

you also put in a ML63 telling.

I talked about this on the shed for stage.

Ben, you haven't heard about this.

We've said at, oh yeah, he also,

we didn't do it.

Well, Ben never came to shedfest.

Sorry, by the way.

He said the numbers were too small.

No, he was not the event that day.

I wasn't.

I couldn't make it.

Yeah, exactly.

You couldn't make the event.

I couldn't make the event.

Sorry about that.

It wasn't personal.

It was.

It was to you.

The ML63, we always said that we'd never seen

an ML63, especially in the UK towing.

I saw an ML63 and it was towing.

Ben, I'm going to put the photo up on screen

for the audio listeners.

Can you tell me?

It was.

It was like a 30 to 40 foot yacht.

That is not an ML63.

No.

It was an ML63 towing a gargantuan boat,

like a boat way too big, a boat two to three

times the length of the ML63,

just straight down the M40.

But I saw it.

I was like, that's,

1:00:12 ML63 Towing a Boat

you know what?

We think we're cool with the ML63,

but that's kind of cool.

Also, just waiting your boat for a drive.

Yeah.

I mean, it's just down going.

Also, down the M40, quite famously the middle

of the country.

Yeah, your land log there.

Yeah.

I can't find anywhere.

I've been driving all day.

I'm looking for a canal.

Is there a canal around there?

I can float down.

But random bit of, if you see an ML63 towing,

we always want to see what it's towing.

We want to know if we're the biggest dogs on the water.

I'm saying rep.

How much does a boat weigh?

That sort of boat.

How long is a piece of string?

How big is that boat?

Oh, surely that's more than the towing capacity.

That's what I thought immediately.

That's what I'm saying.

Including the trailer.

Is that a 35 foot boat?

Are we reporting in?

Made out of fiberglass, right?

Boats.

So maybe it's like a TVR.

Super lightweight.

Looking halfway on this boat.

Maybe let's underestimate.

Let's say it was a 20 foot.

A 35 foot.

Oh.

Okay.

Hold on.

25 foot.

Let's go with that.

That one was definitely 25 feet.

It was at least double the length of the amount.

Will you confirm, Edwin, for me,

that it's roughly that sort of boat?

Well, how long?

Now that it was a double decker,

it had the two, it had like an interior type.

We'll call it a 30 foot yacht.

30 foot yacht.

weight.

Here we go.

We are looking at between, now this is Google Earth.

Maybe I don't know lengths of boats.

Typically ways between 3,175 kilograms and 4,500.

So he's quite putting a trailer,

whatever else is.

Maybe it was closer to 20, but it was at

least double the length of the car.

My eyes immediately went to,

why is there a boat driving down the motorway?

And then I looked in front of it and went,

"That's an ML63."

Oh, that's a canoe.

There you go.

Oh, he did it.

V12 vintage on the screen.

For Benjamin, it might be a lot.

But shall we, what have we got next?

Next up, or talk about this,

actually, because I saw this on the way in this morning.

The GR Corolla.

Yeah.

Yes.

The three cylinder thing.

We weren't getting that.

Yes.

Why did I see a truck full of them this morning?

Oh, because I saw there was a Mike Fernie

video, shout out Mike Fernie,

of him tearing apart a three cylinder Yaris.

And there was one at the sort of,

which was garage with bits, I think.

I think it was them.

And they had a Corolla GR there.

And I was at the time, I thought,

I thought the whole thing was,

yeah, this is cool, but you lying and getting it.

I saw genuinely like brand new cars,

they didn't look imported or anything like that.

Not that I could even really tell.

But perhaps five or six right now,

my dude, Corolla GR on the back.

So they had the central pipe and then like

the other pipes, I can't remember what it was.

It's sort of odd thing.

They were definitely the GR Corolla.

So are we getting, do we have that?

I think it wasn't.

Is it a great import?

It is a great import.

So I'm seeing a few of them,

they are off for sale.

And it says they are Japanese imported examples.

The reason

we didn't get them in the UK is due to

emissions compliance.

I thought that was cool.

I would like to see one on the road.

I was quite impressed by the Erest G.R.,

so in theory, a crawler.

A bit bigger, a bit more powerful,

might be nice.

So that's the same engine.

Same engine, but more beans.

Yeah, I believe.

That's the technical time.

Ben, you here with your prospecting,

you're coming up with ideas,

you're doing finance stuff here.

You said F3J prices in the U.S.

This is just something you're monitoring.

Just in case, you're wondering.

I saw a reel of SVJ, which

1:04:03 SVJ Lamborghini Prices

I've never seen before.

What is an SVJ?

An event store SVJ, we're talking the

Lamborghini Event Store, the best V12 Lamborghini.

The cream of the crop of the Event Store.

And it's the top big boy with the,

it's the one you see in this frame of shit and flames.

Quick question, what is an Ultimape?

It's a large one.

It's the final one.

But is that an SVJ or is that just a normal Event Store?

Don't think so, but I think it might have SVJ.

It's got the same pipes at the rear.

Okay, same exhaust.

Okay, carry on.

Just a quick question.

So SVJ, they're all over Instagram.

Instagram car.

And best noise.

It's a great noise.

I would quite like one.

And I saw a reel of someone,

someone driving one and it said like million pound SVJ.

Sorry, million dollar SVJ.

And I was like, no.

I was like, million, million dollar car.

That's not million dollar car.

In this country, I don't know exact prices,

but SVs and SVJs are roughly around half a mill.

They always have me in about that much.

America, I looked it up, million.

Wow.

million pound car, million dollar cars.

That is a, that's kind of across the board,

across Lamborghinis in general.

Diablo's, Diablo's, they're worth much more.

Merciolargos are worth a manual,

a manual Merciolago in America,

million dollar car.

I'm going through now.

Now, now you must remember Ben,

there is also the exchange rate to factor in.

So half a million pound car in the UK is

going to be 600 to $650,000.

Well, this one is one point,

there's one for two million,

there's one point one point two,

there's one here for 500, 500,000 pounds,

it's $680,000.

So what's a million pounds?

735,000 pounds.

Okay, so which I think is actually similar to

what I might be thinking of SVs,

there's been some people talking about this

recently where it's either SV or SVJs or

perhaps both that have just,

I mean, it's mainly the listing prices.

So seeing a sold price, I haven't seen that

yet, but just been being listed for silly

money six, seven, eight hundred thousand pounds.

I have got a couple here, we've got 975,000,

675, 675, 600, 800, 900.

So UK.

These are all the UK cars.

Wow.

But you can get one for the UK.

Yeah.

You might be able to get one.

I've been stealing off market.

That's best, been made cars.

I'm looking for all these, he's getting them

for five grand.

So okay, maybe it's not that big a difference

that I thought, but still like,

but also calling that a million pound car.

So you're saying that one sold?

What was that?

An auction thing you're talking about?

Is that is always the thing worth remembering?

Yes.

But these are cars listed.

Sometimes people in the UK will try and

follow one from a US price to see if it kind

of follows on.

Maybe they are selling for that.

I don't know.

The other thing to remember is that the UK

and a lot of our foreign creamers will remind

us of this, is that we have the most

ridiculously cheap car market in the UK.

Our prices are notoriously very low because a

lot of people say, well, it's right hand

drive car, it's a UK deliver car,

it's rarer.

give it its rarer because we're the only ones

in the next two, three thousand miles that want it.

Our other options are South Africa,

Australia, New Zealand, Japan,

and then some of the Indonesian countries.

That's it for right hand drive.

So America with less than drive cars,

they're more sought after anyway.

That's true.

So that's why I watched the,

there was a bottoms auction at the Miami Grand,

Miami.

The Miami Grand Prix and a lot of the really

expensive cars were not hitting anywhere near

their estimates.

They were just about touching them with some

of the fees because obviously the fees are insane.

There was, well, what I did find quite

interesting was, I can't remember the exact

number, but it was a Veyron.

Again, no idea how it could be a rough car.

I've no idea.

It was a red Veyron, fully red with black wheels.

Early ones?

Early, yeah.

Sold for, I think it would have been under a

million pounds.

You think that's how much?

Like my Armstrongs.

I can as well, yeah.

And that was a car being sold at an auction

seemingly fully functioning.

Again, might be a story behind that,

I don't know.

And there's also fees.

But it is, some of these, this is just big,

big.

Watching auctions is actually quite interesting.

I was like, I have no interest in these

things, but just seeing them go for way under was,

yeah.

I love the auction.

It's so entertaining.

I am a dick.

I was wondering how I'm a dick.

I'm addicted to them.

Any weekend that there is an auction on,

a car auction, whether it's small scale cheap.

I'm watching it.

I love it.

It's just, it's so cool.

It's random stuff going that sometimes goes

for dirt cheap.

And then some things that go mental.

My mate was looking at a hundred series Land

Cruiser, which is the same as what the auto

Alex guys had.

And we were watching this auction and things

were going for nothing.

Like absolutely nothing.

They were going for half, they went,

none of the cars hit their reserves and half

of them were going for less than half their estimates.

Got to this car, which he was interested in.

It went for like one and a half time.

Times the, what do you call it?

Lower estimate.

Just went way over.

Well, some cars just go.

One of the things we did in Monterrey last

year, which we, I think went to.

I was the, I'm sorry, the B's auction.

Yes.

That is, I love it.

Also that it's so entertaining.

You've got, yeah, the car is number one impressive.

It's there in the, in person,

which is mental.

You're seeing the number go up,

which is cool.

And then there's people around the room all

like you can hear him talking and they're all

like, they're trying to egg each other on.

There's all these like different people there.

Big ego is trying to do.

It's just a great show to watch.

You know what is?

options are to cars, what music are what

concerts are to

music, if that makes sense.

You can listen to it at home

and you're like, yeah, I like the song kind

of getting them.

But then when you go to a concert,

I've heard the vibe is

there.

Everyone's like, the atmosphere is like,

yeah.

The

ombial.

That's what it's like.

That's electric.

You look at a, you look at an SVJ and you're

like, oh, cool.

SVJ rolls up on an auction lot and there's

like 100 people in the room who want it,

you feel it.

I just went with the Mercilago.

You felt it.

A whole room.

The moment that car came up,

everyone was kind of, okay, it's old Land Rover.

He said, right, here we go.

Here's the Mercilago.

Everyone kind of sat up and was like,

here we go.

That was my first experience and I had to ask

you because I think it was literally the

second or third lot and two or three cars had

sold, obviously, before that.

I don't know if they hit reserve or what.

But no one said anything and then this car

sold, sold to someone in the room and there was applause.

Yeah.

I was like, why did everyone applaud that?

It's like a sport.

It was like, there was, again,

they applaud maybe because it was someone in

the room and it's like, cool,

there's someone there so you can applaud that.

But also, there was another few cases where

if there's a bit of a battle.

Exactly.

There's some toing and throwing.

Everyone's like, I love this battle.

Yeah, it's like going on gladiators.

People going, who's gonna spend,

I'm not invested in this.

I'm just here to watch the sport.

Yeah, one will try and fove the other and

it's a good battle to see.

I love that the battle is just throwing money

at each other.

Yeah.

I love the, I don't know if it's,

I think it's only really high in auction,

obviously, but like there are some other

things where they send a man over to the

person who's bidding.

Yeah.

And then that person has to--

To egg them on.

To egg them on and it's just great to watch.

You can just watch people, and obviously

these people are, it's certain the level

there, they are multi-zillionaires buying,

some of them are buying a car just to mug off

the other person and be like,

yeah, I can buy it and you can't,

but it's so cool, just to stand there and watch.

I really would love to be an auctioneer for a day.

We've said this, we've said we'd love to do

it for a video.

Just, it wouldn't need to be anything crazy

hectic cars, but I wanna be able to be that

person, making them on, go, come on sir,

don't you see yourself in this beautiful

vintage Nissan Primera?

You didn't come all the way to Birmingham to

lose out on this by 500 pounds did you?

And I've got them on the phones here in Hong

Kong bidding on the Nissan Micro.

(laughing)

It's great, I love it.

I find it, when we went to the one in

Monterey, which again, I think you mentioned

we might have gone to.

We might go to somewhere.

It was interesting looking, walking around.

'Cause a lot of people there,

and a lot of people get access,

they're not all bidding, some of them are

media, some of them are friends,

some of them are just there to have a look around.

It's trying to spot who has the money.

Who's the big dick swinger here?

Yeah.

You can see some of them, they look like they

might be, but a lot of some of them that look

like they are probably aren't.

That's what we saw, isn't it?

We wanted a big suit, a proper three piece suit.

I think they're rich compared to us.

Yeah, no, of course.

But compared to people in there,

no.

We did, we saw, I think, I don't know if we

talked about it, the guy that was a guy a

white wife beta, and it wasn't like a fresh

wife beta, it was like clearly washed quite a

few times, like a little bit gray jeans and

some crazy shoes with a medello beer in hand

and smoking a cigarette.

And he was walking around this car and I was

looking and I was like, this already feels

like this dude has money.

And Ben walked up to me and he said,

have you, to you, said, have you seen that guy's

watch?

I don't know, I think about watches.

And you're like, yeah, that's what,

a million dollar watch or something?

Yes, I'm like, it was, I can't remember.

And you know watches and you're like,

that's real.

Yeah, yeah, well, I mean, also in that

context, you would assume that it probably is as well.

But he like set his beard down on the side

and started looking around the speed tail.

He was like poking it as well,

like touching it, which not what he meant to do.

But yeah, there was another guy in that who I

think I can't verify.

I think you were going sandals.

And he was like, I think--

Stuck to mirror.

No, he would wear no shoes.

He would be with no shoes.

But it's the, and then I think if you go even

on one level above that like billionaire,

billionaires, they just sit on the sofa and

go, I'll buy that.

I also think some of the super rich ones,

just not there.

No, they're not.

Someone else is doing the bidding or they're

doing it, someone else is doing it for them

on the phone or online or they've just set

their bid and then got there well.

Yeah, but I think a lot of them are super

rich ones, probably quite enjoy the,

oh, yeah, the whole spectacle of being the

one outbidding the other rich person is a

thing in itself.

It's crazy.

Seeing that for the first time there,

that was the first time my whole experience

with auctions currently, apart from the MR2,

the MR2 was my second experience of an auction.

The first was RM Sotheby.

Ferrari solved for 26 million dollars.

Meanwhile, the Westbury car auction,

where a key a Rio was bid from 100 pounds to 110.

Some fantastic prices, it was really good.

The first cars that went through there,

God, they were going well under.

Was it an interesting experience,

then?

The difference between the guys in Monterey

throwing out hundreds of thousands of pounds

of bids with not caring, meanwhile,

watching Will look like he's about to shut,

his body's about to shut down while throwing

one extra bid on.

Did we ever talk about the man who approached

you, Ben, at the Westbury car auction?

I don't know if he meant to be in a park.

Oh my God.

No, I think we can talk.

Okay, he approached you to one of us.

Got him.

We were all stuck together, so who knows who

he was talking to.

He was talking to the next part.

He was talking to car auctions.

Look, there were some people there.

There were certainly some interesting folks there.

There were some interesting cars there.

It was an interesting auction,

to be sure, and we lost out on it.

We approached Ben.

We were filming.

And in Venice, we did say beforehand to them,

"Can we film?"

They said, "Yeah, all good."

They kind of said it like, "Yeah."

They gave us some parameters.

They said, "Can you just not shove cameras in

people's faces?"

And we were like, "Yeah, that's fine."

It's mainly going to be on us and just off

the stage of the cars going.

But then this man just rocked up.

It got like chill, actually.

It's not quite chill.

He walked up and said, "Basically,"

said to Ben, he asked you if you'd captured

him or on camera.

Which I luckily had not.

Which you had not.

And then he, there wasn't a threat involved.

He said, "That's good because I'm out on

license at the moment.

I'm a wanted man."

No, no.

The two different, the thing is,

I think on license means you've been let out.

Yeah.

So you're not wanted.

I think it just means that you are not meant

to be doing that sort of thing.

Yeah, if you're right.

It's just be like, "You're out."

But like, he's out on car base,

J-Pree, and he shouldn't be doing it.

He should be around those things.

And he's not in the video and he was not

captured at all.

But, and it wasn't a, he actually really nice about it.

He made a bit of a joke out of it.

But always unsettling.

Yeah.

And bearing in mind, like that is--

You don't get that out of R.M.

No, R.M.

is there.

They offer you another glass of champagne.

They don't, they don't say that they're out.

You don't present a sentence in Westbury Call

or a couple auctions.

Yeah, that was, that was quite worrying.

But anyone, a monetary car like this year

that has an auction, just, you know--

Hey, what's going to be there?

Yeah, let's off of the stage.

Right, here we go.

Who wants a Ferrari out there?

And what's they said?

F40?

Come on, let's see.

Come on, right.

Starting to bid off at 10,000 pounds.

10,000 pounds.

I'll take 11.

I'll take 11.

Going up.

Ignoring everyone to go, "Ben,

in the back, we'll take that,

we'll bid."

Thank you very much.

I'll talk over there, it's just put a bit in

of 75 million pounds.

Thank you very much.

You've got that in the bank account.

Right,

Ben, you put in here V8s back in F1.

The V8s are allegedly making return to F1.

Okay, I don't know about F1,

neither did anyone else here,

so we're going to try our best.

I'm going to, I'm going to proposition you,

Ben.

Okay.

They were V8s and V12s.

It'd be an old old.

And then they went to 4-cylinder turbos,

like 80s.

Something right, it was 6-cylinder,

I believe.

Okay, what's the tag turbo?

Yeah, tag turbo is a small 1.5 litre V6.

But then there was a BMW that was a

4-cylinder, I want to say.

Possibly, there was a lot more variation.

And then it was V12s, then V10s.

V10s, yeah, V10s are like early 2000s.

And then V8s again.

And now we're in the hybrid era.

6-cylinders.

Which is a V6, but a 1.6 litre V6 hybrid.

And now this year, or this season,

they have, I believe, gone to a 50/50

electric split, basically.

Wow.

But there's a lot of controversy because up

until now, you'd be able to drive a car,

where it's now like, it's more tactical

because the car ran out of energy and the

battery wouldn't need to be charging and a

lot of drivers say they don't drive very well.

So randomly, there has now been an announcement from...

A man.

Bernie Eccleston.

Oh, the head of the FIA.

Well, I actually wasn't that far off that he was right.

I can't pronounce names.

I'm very sorry.

He used to be a rally driver,

I want to say.

Really?

I think I might be true.

He watches my arms strong.

Yeah.

I think he watches TV.

He watches my arms strong.

Yeah.

Really?

Yeah.

How do you know this?

Because I've seen it.

He began his career as a rally driver in the 1980s.

He became one of the most successful Middle

East Rally Championship drivers winning 14 titles.

You know what?

Shout out.

That's how you should be.

If you're in charge of an organization like

that, you have to be in the know.

Yeah.

You've got to be like, "Yeah,

man, I was doing skids too back in the day."

Look, guys, I understand that.

Because I saw a, I saw randomly this morning

a reel from, it was in Miami this weekend.

But if one, don't worry, if you're not in

Teflon, we won't stick on it too long.

But of Martin Brumble does a walk around of

pits, interviewing people.

And usually from what I understand,

it's people that are like, "I say,

I love F1.

Cars go so fast."

And that's it.

That's kind of vapid bullshit.

But he went up to Colin Farrell,

and he said...

Colin Farrell, at a Colin Farrell took it

through his glass office and said,

"Oh, Martin, this is amazing.

I've always wanted to do this."

And he said, "Are you into F1?"

He said, "Me and my mates in 1998 went and

watched Monza on it.

Like we bought the cheapest flight we could

on Ryanair and shared a hotel room and watched it.

I love it."

That's cool.

You need people that want to be there should

be there, if that makes sense.

Like it makes us going to F1 makes no sense.

We don't know anything about it.

But Ben going, you like F1, right?

Do I?

We used to, right?

I dabbled at times.

You were on the grid at one point.

Yeah.

I do a couple of laps, I'm out,

it's done.

Yeah.

No, I like, it's okay.

I just don't feel much towards it.

But do you think you would if they have V8s?

Yeah, probably.

It's just, I don't know.

But what if the V8s they go for,

they're like the Cadillac V8?

It's not like high end twin turbo,

it's a seven and a half liter.

Just a mean cam in it.

Yeah, just with a carb sticking out of the top.

I leather bench.

That's what, Cadillac's coming back in.

What made me, we'll get to one moment,

Ben, this is one small.

Oh, sit in the waiting room.

Don't you?

Is, the V6s, they sound better in person,

but they still, they don't get your bits fizzing.

But when we went to good with members

meeting, parked up and we were walking

towards, towards where the auction bit was.

But at that time, we weren't allowed access,

we didn't have a ticket.

There was one of the, I think it was one of

the V10, F1 cars, I think it was Gents and

Button possibly driving, can't remember

anyway, someone else will know,

but a proper F1 car with one of the NA,

I think it was a V10.

And it sounded, um, just hearing that from

the car park, you'd sell tickets just doing that.

Yeah, if you sell tickets on the door of

people going, where's that noise coming from?

I will pay to go and watch that.

I, you don't get that with the modern stuff.

I as a non F1 person would would,

as an experience, just want to pay to go and

see it, just so I could see,

like, because everyone says you feel it in your chest.

Yeah.

And after hearing that from a mile and a half

away, it was ridiculous.

And then imagine 20 of them.

Yeah, it's just like, it's in nuts.

So he said that they're targeting 20,

31 year before the maturity of the current

regulations, he said it's going to happen,

but it is a matter of when.

Interesting.

No, no, no, sorry.

He also said that they will probably go away

from the 50, 50 power split as electric.

No matter what.

I don't understand this.

Why is it that F1 redoes the regulations

every three years and it's completely different?

Why you just bought in this whole new thing

and they're going, we've done four races.

So I guess for a time.

So just grab a whole thing and do new engines

and get rid of hybrids, shall we?

I wonder because F1 is now, it was never

popular in America, but now it's since the

Netflix series, right?

It's become incredibly, there's quite a lot

of races in the US.

And they're now pushing over to being lots of

race in America.

I wonder if that's where the V8 thing of,

or bigger engine, but mainly V8 gone.

We'll get more of them if we get V8.

And I use V8 motor.

If I hem in it, they've all got superchargers.

They're just cooking.

I'd love that.

I would love that.

I hope they won't, because it would be a

shame to never have experienced that in my lifetime.

Going to see the F1 and hearing that.

Yeah.

We were quite lucky we had silvers the last year.

And again, it was good, but it just hasn't got.

Again, for a lot of people, they like the

sport and the racing.

Yeah.

doesn't matter, but the noise has to add to

the theater of it.

At least being there anyway.

So please, I guess they're probably selling

enough tickets and got enough viewers that

they probably don't care.

Yeah.

But for us, come on, V10s, V8s minimum,

V10s please.

Next here, Edwin, you've put spread to the gospel.

Creamers in the comments.

I can't

1:22:51 Shout Out to Creamers

remember.

This is just to do, this is just a quick

shout out to Creamers.

We did it, we did it earlier on,

but it seems to be in, sorry,

that was it.

Adam C video, Adam C, the forefather of car YouTube.

He was there, you know what,

when I was like 15, 16, he was already

filming cars leaving events.

And there was an event, and there was the

event that Bista recently.

And the top comment on the, on Adam C's video

was, Will was, that's, that's Jacob,

Will's glado.

Shout out to the Creamers.

And that's, you know what, I like seeing that.

We're not, the Creamers aren't,

you're not, you're not overriding,

but you're just about to let them know.

Creamers here.

Oh, the fellow Creamer here.

I like that.

Shout out to the Creamers.

You're out there in the world,

letting each other know.

That's what the community's about.

Spread the gospel.

Because also, I don't, I think we,

well, we think that a lot of TDC viewers

don't know about the podcast.

True, this is true.

We, it, it was originally on the second

channel, and then it moved over to its own channel.

And I think when that happened,

I think a lot of people assumed it just stopped.

Yes.

So, hey, my friends.

And it doesn't need to be, it doesn't need to

be anything in your face.

You don't need to be, you don't need to be,

be plastering it on buildings.

But just every now and then I like to see a

little,

Any cream is it?

Cream is it?

Cream is it?

I see, I see it in Instagram comments as well.

I've seen so many random like car reels,

and in the comments, there'll be a mention of

Creamer in that.

It's good to see, it's good to see.

I love it.

Also, we need to find, I need to go back and

find that when we read out the comment saying

the first mention of Creamer,

I'm not saying we're not gonna call ourselves that.

I know what podcast it is.

I know it 'cause it was when we were on a train track.

So, we need to go back and we will lead

tonight to this man.

He might be--

That's almost a year then, 'cause that was

one of--

Over a year.

Over a year.

Well, it'll be March of last year.

Wow, wow, wow.

Crazy, so--

It was when we took the project card that no

one's ever seen to--

Of course, plus.

Yeah, which is many months.

I wanna know, and feel free to put this in

the comments of Spotify or YouTube or

wherever you can comment.

Do any of you only know the podcast and then

found the YouTube channel?

I think it's probably a very small amount of you.

Interesting.

But are any of you, like, are you OG Creamers?

Like, are you not OG or such?

Creamer by nature.

You started out with cream.

You didn't TDC and then cream.

You started out with cream and then maybe you TDC.

Maybe we say TDC and you go,

"What the bloody hell is a TDC?"

Yeah, we're saying, "Oh, we did this this week."

And they're like, "That sounds amazing."

Wait, what's this?

It'd be amazing to see that.

I'd say, "Why are you doing all that off-camera?"

You could make a good channel out of that.

Because I'd like to know that.

So if you are a person who came across the

cream podcast first without the channel,

let us know.

Tell us how you found us.

And one more side.

It's like the end of a survey.

It's like, "And how did you hear about that?"

What's an internet search?

Previous customer.

I also want to know another thing.

You know I may have this.

Has anyone become friends of anyone because

of a cream?

Or better their relationship?

Or has it ruined a relationship?

I think that.

Or maybe ruled their relationship.

Oh, very good, very good.

I want to know that.

I want to know if anyone's, because I see a

lot of people interact with each other using

cream and I want to know if anyone's become friends.

You might need to get a cream car club going.

People, creamers in your area,

you want to meet up.

Swiping left and right.

They're real.

No, no, no.

So you can work on cars together.

Shout out.

But it's the picture of their car and you can

reject them.

You get it on the street.

MX-5 reject, reject.

There really should be an event at some point where.

We don't worry, I know we say it a lot and

the merch, but that is, cream is our favorite

little project.

It's our, it's not going anywhere.

It's not.

And we love you guys.

It's in the works, guys.

Someone did have a t-shirt that says I'm a

creamer, so he made it himself.

How desperate you guys are getting for this stuff.

It's coming.

We're just kind of particular about

everything, but also bootleg merch,

cease and desistors in the mail.

Yeah.

We're coming for you.

Yeah.

You're like a moonshine, we're gonna be

hunting you down the ninking arm.

Jesus.

We don't really have a big thing to end on,

but we do have pucker pies to talk about.

You know what, it's a classic podcast trophy,

isn't it?

When was your last pie, just off topic?

On some Saturday.

Wow.

That's your first.

What kind of, it was a leak,

an in-leak pie.

Ah, for my favorites.

What I found that, you know what,

we said it since only the TVR,

I'm going full England.

Yeah.

Pies are now back on the menu.

Pies with a meat inside.

Pies with a meat inside and a sauce that

doesn't really have many ingredients.

No, it's just mainly sort of meat fat.

Yeah.

It's mainly brown sauce.

And sauce.

Will your last pie?

No, I was about to talk about what,

if this podcast had a pie, what would it be?

Let's hold on, we'll get onto this.

It's just based on the naming,

what would it be?

We'll end on that.

A mushroom soup pie.

Okay.

You're about to say, why I thought you were saying that.

Creamers, no, okay.

Yeah, it's tough, I've just realized.

Creamers, that was quite innocent,

actually.

I thought you'd both clock it instantly.

No, didn't do that.

That was quite nice, that shows with good people.

I don't even know what we're talking about.

We don't look at car crashes.

Any mail from Kofi.

Man, I don't think so.

I don't think so.

Hi, Will, Edwin, Ben, in my village,

there is a fish and chip shop.

Oh, yes.

It is your typical greasy chip that's making

you feel that.

God, I could, I could, bad day to be out.

God, bad day to be in a chip shop at 10 o'clock.

It's your typical greasy chip,

which hasn't changed since the '90s.

In the corner, they have a very worn and

faded advert from Pucker Pies.

Now, not only is this ad absurd,

but am I creating and thinking that this is a

TVR Griffith?

It would be interesting to know your thoughts

on this frankly mental image on the podcast.

Now, for the audio listeners,

we've pulled up the old school ad for Pucker

Pies, which says,

and then it says, don't compromise,

which is their very timeline.

But it is a top down shot of quite a yuppy style man.

I think he is upwardly mobile in the

corporate industry of the '90s,

feeding a chip to his woman next

thing.

It's significant other, very,

very nice.

But my

question is, why is she not just giving me a

chip yourself?

Because she might, one of my first questions

as well, she does have a chip on her phone.

She has one as well.

Those classic, we feed each other.

How greedy?

She's got you on the fork and she's got one of his.

She's got a gig, he's got a drive.

More importantly, he is in the driver's seat

of a TVography.

So I want to know how this came about.

Was it like the ND had a grip in their eye?

We need to get a shot of something,

something kind of cool, kind of snazzy.

But the thing I like most is that they're in

this '90s corporate professional type attire and vibe.

Is that a fucking pose of trends of track?

We need to attract the young,

upwardly mobile people.

Get the advert with a TVR in it.

I just understand how you end up in this situation.

Also, right, quick one.

Ben, what is the food of the day?

What?

What is there?

What are they eating?

Well, I can't really, they just have,

like, whether the shift to it is in the car

for those who are listening,

he's holding a healthy serving of chips and a

whole pucker pie.

This is my point.

They're not eating the pie, they're eating the chips.

That's true, yeah, that's true.

This is not a good advertisement.

It will be difficult to eat that pie in their

current predicament, especially in that car,

which, for the audio listeners,

is a basically white/cream off-white interior.

I wouldn't want to be seen as a pucker pie.

I imagine a pucker pie in my head as well is

always steak and ale.

So it's a brown sauce.

It's a brown sauce all over the champagne.

The thing is, as well, the moment you get

driving, that's going everywhere.

500, there's speeds going on,

and there's sideways going on.

The only place you have is in the double hump

in the middle, which is famously,

it's three different humps at different

heights, meaning nothing flat can be stored on it.

So that pie, done for.

Different sizes of pucker pie.

Maybe that's why, but it feels like they just

had the car available.

I'm like, "Well, yeah, that looks flash."

Also, it was a Ferrari too far.

Yeah, they went, and a Porsche is not calling it.

Right, right.

No, the TVR feels.

They said a Ferrari is a bit flash.

We don't wanna, that's not our image.

We have pies, what is pie?

An SD-1.

English, it's TVR.

It's an SD-1 sort of, not a Cosworth.

No, a Cortina.

Like an XR-3 or something.

Yeah, exactly like that.

The humble, perfectly.

It all goes back to Instagram influencers.

It's the Thinking Man's Pimer Bill.

(laughing)

Why are they sharing one pie?

It seems a pie is too much for one person.

I disagree.

A pie is famously created as being a enclosed

one person meal.

Yeah, no, I would agree.

Sharing a pie feels a bit odd.

It is a bit odd, but it's like a here's a meal.

It's sealed up, actually a meal.

You can eat the wrapper as well if you want.

Can you?

Yeah, it's not like you can eat the pastry.

Oh, sorry.

Is your like stew?

I was wearing a trusset.

Well, are you sharing the pie?

Ben, Ben is absolutely chowing down on that

metal tin, the thing that it comes with.

It's a bit chewy, but you know what,

it's all right.

You're the worst pies.

Is it the plastic it comes in?

No, no, it's the, you know, when you get a

pie and you go, that's good,

you take it out of the packaging,

lovely pie, it says cook in the metal

container, and you put cook it,

and then you go to take it out of the metal

container, and it's not a pie.

Only the top is a pie, and it's just--

Never experienced that in my life.

I think you've just been scammed out of pies.

It had, it was like the metal tin full of the

meat sauce, and the top was a pie top.

It's a faux pie.

You had a po, you had a po, you had a pie

that had a rim protector on it.

Yeah.

Steely, just been referred this way.

I've never been subset in my entire life.

That is crazy.

You got scammed on pies, man.

I did, yeah.

Your pastry has been demolished.

Exactly, yeah, whatever that means.

Will,

your last pie, please?

I'm not a big pie, man.

I can't

remember my last pie.

I had a pie that had chicken in it.

What was that?

I was gonna say it was two years ago.

Two years?

What I need to do, you know what?

The cream car meat.

Oh, someone, hold on, hold on,

sorry.

Pies.

Someone at the shed fest said,

I've worked out the best car meat name for you.

And usually, look, as we've said it before,

99.9% of you are perfect, lovely people.

There's some of the dross, some of the car

meats, names and things we heard,

but there was one fantastic one.

We're looking at us right in the face the whole time.

Cars rule everything around meat.

Wow, around meat?

Yeah, 'cause it's a car meat about beef.

Exactly.

I expect that to be barbecues.

There you go, that's what I'm saying,

the pies are there, pucker pies,

Oddly sponsoring creams first event.

We love that.

That's not true.

Maybe it could be, if anybody could reach out

to pucker pies, don't do that.

I haven't had a pie a month.

Or if you work a pucker pies.

If you work a pucker pies.

If you work a pucker pies.

Can we recreate this, but it's me feeding Ben the chip.

Oh, come on.

I want a pie, I want a pie, I need some fish and chips.

The fish and chips has really got me going.

If we could end the same podcast prompt.
