0:00 Introduction and Welcome
You are the most vulnerable thing on the road
outside of a badger.
City Car has been convicted and fined over an
untaxed Nissan micro.
Name your top five shoes.
A set of leather broaks.
Shut up.
Hello and welcome to the 99th Cars Rule
Everything Around Me podcast,
the preliminary to the centennial episode
with myself, Edwin, William to my left and
Benjamin to my over there.
Hello Last week, the last time he saw us,
it was with the
Grand Tour gang.
We'll get on to that shortly.
Ben
obviously was not there.
I mean, it's not out yet, but I
know there were comments asking where he was.
Ben, one word,
why weren't you there?
Fantastic.
We'll get him next time.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
When we see him at the golf course next time.
For me?
Impossible.
Let me think on this one for just a moment.
What?
Something funny behind the camera?
I don't know what perspicacity means.
What is it?
It actually means the mental sharpness and
quickness of insight need to understand
complex situations and make wise accurate judgments.
You do not have that.
That is not opposite of what you've laid out
on your list of things that you have.
It was random word that sort of fitted,
though, what was, anyway, gone.
Anyway, thanks for interrupting yet.
Let me just get to this, which I've
definitely decided on.
Let me call it a rule.
Let me think why.
Would you like me
to go?
No.
I've got this.
It's predominantly because I don't
have a reason to ruin.
Now, that's a fantastic idea.
Now, we have been doing car things recently.
Every week.
I know.
It's difficult to believe sometimes.
But we have got Maserati's.
Sorry, as far as the view is concerned,
we've got Maserati.
But if you look behind you, is,
and you're looking with your eyes.
You listen behind you.
Yeah, if you can listen really hard,
you might hear a Maserati.
I'm not going to say it.
But keep an eye out on the YouTube channel.
There might be two Maserati's.
So there are Maserati's in and around,
and they just sound so good.
Oh, there are reasons to ruin in there.
100%.
But I'm so excited about these cars.
They're so, so cool.
And then next door, the M3 is currently.
So that's going to be starting very,
very soon.
Next door.
So we cleaned today.
That's a good reason.
That's part of my rule.
It's a bit like you look at a tiny house and
go, this is great.
Isn't this just nice?
So very cool Maserati is just cool cars going
on and off the back of the Grand Tour as well.
I think that's the that is the mark of a
truly, truly lost like person that's into
cars or petroid that we've been told the cost
of these Maserati's.
And yet every time we start and we go,
I want one.
And I've been looking on auto trader and I
may have to.
The more I look at this, I'm like,
do I buy this car?
Because it is.
Where else are you getting that?
You can't even get these.
For the amount of money that this car has
cost for what car?
How much car it is?
Yeah.
And this isn't like a mad like,
oh, we got it off an auction or it was just
for sale for that amount of money.
But yeah, cool.
So rule, I'd say rule.
Ben him in.
For me, it's going to be a rule.
Wow.
And that is because A, we have TC unit two.
It's back.
It's back.
And it's better never, I'd say.
It's looking indeed.
Clio, not much news.
I still have a shifter to fit.
And yeah, there we go.
Well, here it comes.
I found something last night.
I found a set of seats and I sent them to you.
3:40 Rule or Ruin: Edwin's Maserati TC Unit Two
And Eilira, I said, Ben, how's that going?
And did you send him a message?
No, no.
You haven't.
I kind of wanted to look at the listing and
look at because also there was like 17
comments on the listing, but I wasn't in that group.
So I couldn't see.
This was, he said this to me earlier.
It was one of the craziest things I've so out
of interest.
So seeing as I saw it in screenshots that
it's handed to you, what could you have done?
Yeah.
What's the point?
Oh, it was more of an idle thing.
I was
like, I'll have a quick look,
but I didn't want to bother
to do it.
I had probably thought it.
Ben goes on to the
most of eight, sees all other cars and goes,
what's the
point in going on there?
Well, there's going to be traffic,
isn't there?
Well, it was the point.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't.
With this outlook on things,
I don't know if it will.
Your bets looking nice.
No, there is time to fit.
As soon as there's one comment on a post,
you go, someone else is in there.
Sold, isn't it?
It wasn't like that.
First to see, we'll buy.
Someone says, good luck with Sam.
And then goes, oh, well, that's it.
Well, gone, isn't it.
Sold to the highest bit.
Sold to the first bidder.
Okay.
Anyway, the golf, I had a, I had a moment of
inspiration with it because we filmed and you
may have seen it by now.
Last Friday, if you know, the ML63 video on
the second channel, we still in that,
we'll do a little update on our dailies
because me and Will have been mashing us on
our dailies, Edwin's been walking to work.
Don't worry about it.
It's fantastic.
So, and I realize in that clip,
I was getting bullied quite a lot,
I don't know.
But because they're saying that I'm letting
my golf go.
Yeah, yep.
I'm not.
You let your man go.
I realize that which you are.
But the thing you have to remember,
I'm that car to me.
I love it, but it's a tool.
I'm doing runway miles to get A to B.
Much how we see you.
So, but I have noticed there are a few bits
needed doing to it.
So I want to get a nice--
Sorry, just a quick one.
I have noticed there are a few bits needed.
It has been brought to my attention.
Well, us every week, when are you going to do those?
Well, I know, Ben.
It does not need doing.
They're fine.
We don't know.
We don't know.
We don't know.
We're doing shoulders being brushed off every day.
So, I would like to make it nice.
I want to get the wheels redone.
I want the tires on it.
I want to give it a little service.
Let's get it.
I want to fix the long crankiness.
I want to fix the oil burning issue,
possibly.
Let's get onto those wheels.
Because just a moment ago, we were cleaning
up the unit.
You were back and forth between us.
What do I do with my wheels?
Should I paint them?
Give you the crux of it.
Your standard wheels, you'd either like to
get them repainted original color.
Diamond cut.
Or silver.
Or go full silver.
Or full silver.
Or take the golf hour wheels that we used to have.
Is Cadiz wheels very good?
And get them either done in gray or in silver?
Or is it just silver?
Just silver.
Just silver.
Just silver.
And you're trying to work it out?
Yeah, because we, the plan was,
I think we mentioned the podcast,
I buy the golf hour wheels off of the channel.
For a great negotiating.
Sure, for 170, 70 pounds.
Yeah.
I've forgotten.
And a relevant sum of money to Benjamin.
It was 80 and a half thousand pounds.
Yeah.
But then what I did was I did a little render
of the car with the money.
And I loved it and it just doesn't work.
Now, this is where I wish to bring you up,
sir.
Because how often do you go to ask,
why haven't you done this to this car?
Why isn't this done?
Why aren't you doing this?
I'm done.
I ask politely.
Sorry, sir.
Just please fill me in.
No, you say where's the beat?
Why's there not having on this car?
Do you not see how easy it is to get,
was it object, was it something paralysis?
What is it?
I'll remember it, someone in the comments
will correct me, where you have so many
options that you can't choose one.
That's fair.
Just paralysis.
However, I get that.
However, there's definitely me in you,
pal.
Yeah, exactly.
This is like what uses your life.
You live and breathe this.
Exactly.
So the assumption people make with you is
that you will have a decision.
No.
Also, some of the viewers don't know,
is that these two, these two are possibly the
most decisive human beings I've ever met.
But decisive.
Decisive and opinionated.
If I ask you anything, there will be,
no matter what it is, there is a strong opinion.
Yes.
What kind of zero do you like?
You could be the same.
Yes, you could.
I also, no, I'm very wooly famously.
You just have to make the decision.
Famously, I'm easily swayed and not very decisive.
But my point here, Ben.
Yep.
Is that the one thing you want to do to your car.
You're already going back and forth between
now and now.
But that's new, buddy.
Yeah, now imagine there are 400 things you
want to do to that one car.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And you also got 10 cars.
Yeah, but that's fair.
I'm saying.
(laughs)
My main point is that's fair.
What I'm saying is that I'm already
inherently indecisive person,
but you invite the questions because you're so decisive.
Do you not see that?
Yeah.
I think you just sometimes must introduce
logic into the conversation.
I don't like that.
You have to zoom out sometimes.
Okay.
Oh, you weren't going to add that anymore.
I can't help you.
I can't do that for you.
Basically, here's my current thinking.
Bro is waiting for you to zoom out for.
That's what I mean.
That's what happens here.
And this is why people come to you guys with questions.
I don't want to hear about that.
I know occasionally you get frustrated by
actually like, "I'm not your personal car builder."
No, that's not true.
It's the--
Ben, that's not true.
Yes.
If you come up and you say, "What do I do with this?"
And we say, "Here's this."
That's fine.
I don't think any of us have ever objected to that.
It's when 20 minutes later you go,
"Yeah, but what do I do with that?"
And you ask the same question.
I don't mean that.
I don't mean that.
I don't mean that.
I mean--
I don't mean my opinion.
What I think of it.
And anyone--
Yeah, but I don't like that.
Okay.
That's what I mean.
What I mean is that sometimes like,
you get up, you get, 'cause everyone comes to
you guys and asks you stuff about cars.
I can say everyone--
Everyone, everyone.
Everyone that we know, yeah.
Yeah, right, yeah.
Let me speak.
I'm being suspicious.
And I know occasionally I'm like,
"Okay, all right, yeah, cool,
I've answered that, yeah, cool."
It's a bit like a sort of meeting degree of
car questions, right?
But I don't know.
But my other--
But the thing is, we can--
I had it, and I haven't felt the pressure.
I watched his brain unravel.
Yeah, it just goes, I don't have--
'Cause I have the question.
'Cause I have the question.
Because I have someone with a weak case in court.
No, I have the question.
My brain is not--
What I'm saying, basically, what I'm trying
to say, really badly, is that you are so opinionated.
Yeah, that's why--
That you invite the questions.
But here's the problem we have.
Yeah.
We give you the opinion.
Yeah.
And then you go--
I don't like that.
That's not the opinion I want.
Because this is where you're getting it wrong.
'Cause that doesn't mean your opinion is fact.
That means that I'm trying to get your
opinion to see what you think,
and then I'll compare to how I feel,
and then I'll decide.
But that's how it works.
I'm not asking you to tell me what to do.
I'm asking you to tell me what you think.
'Cause you, the options you showed me are
fully, you painted wheels.
I'm there for that.
But on those wheels, they don't work because
they're not particularly interesting wheels.
And when you showed me it, the comparison I
made is they look like a man from Birmingham
has bought a car from BCA or an auction.
He's got cubbed diamond cut wheels,
diamond cut wheels cost 600 pounds to refurb.
And he said, well, my mate Barry the Dave can
do that for 200 quid, but he's gonna paint
them fully silver.
That's what that looks like.
Yeah, but yeah, I get that.
And there it is.
For me, it's a rule.
Perfect.
I think.
But basically,
11:03 Grand Tour Episode Reaction
I wanna get a car nice.
Yeah.
That's the plan.
So I will endeavor to do that.
I am going to say it's a rule.
But A, for cleaning, that makes me feel a lot
better because the E55 moved out under its own power.
And I just love that car.
I love it.
And from the Grand Tour, we filmed that only
yesterday for you guys.
You've obviously heard that by now.
But that was really good.
I genuinely really love that.
It was sad.
What's going on?
Was that a yawn?
Sorry, I've never seen that face on it in my life.
That was a different person.
Stop analyzing me.
I was just, I'm tired tonight.
So yeah, the Grand Tour
was really good.
It will now have been out for you guys.
So
you will have been able to watch it.
And we've seen one.
So we can talk about one.
We haven't spoken it for people who haven't watched it.
But Ben, you never got to watch it.
I would like you to please get guess what
happens in the first episode.
I know who does at the end.
It's crazy.
I don't want to.
Can't crazy they kill cars.
You would let me watch this.
I don't want to.
No, but I would like to guess what happened
to the first episode.
I know it's the American one,
right?
Oh, sorry.
Okay.
I want you to guess what was in the second episode.
But we didn't even know that.
No, we do.
We do.
We do.
We have a breakdown of each episode.
Malaysia.
Okay.
Malaysia.
I know it is Malaysia.
And what happened?
In Malaysia, one of them has a 350Z.
It's blue.
This is pointless.
This is a pointless game.
I wanted you to use your imagination.
Oh, okay.
They go to Malaysia.
So you've ruined it now.
Oh, they go to Hawaii and the goal is to lap
Hawaii before Francis can finish his lunch.
Is it a big lunch?
It's a big lunch.
Okay.
It's a roast dinner.
And what's what cars are they?
The cars they're in is, what's that car you
use on collecting cars?
The car will cover.
The car will cover.
Yeah, they have to lap Hawaii before he can finish.
In approximately 25 minutes.
They're famously very slow car.
I don't know, I don't know why.
Fair.
I haven't got it immediately.
The cost of living crisis in Hawaii.
So yeah, overall for me, it is a rule.
I'm
excited for things ahead, for projects we've got.
Yep.
Am I alpha's still broken?
We don't need to talk about that.
Also, there is a video coming soon.
Will is going away for a bet,
so he's dying.
That's it.
And then Will's away for a few weeks,
so we've decided we're gonna turn Ben's
vitriolic rant at me in last week's podcast,
I'm not having a daily, into a video where I
have to buy a daily.
And I found one on Copot.
That's fine, you didn't say that wasn't allowed.
He did say that was not allowed.
And it looked really good, and it said it was
used unrecorded, did a Car Vertical report on
it, which is obviously this week's sponsor,
and it turned out it had been previously damaged twice.
So it had both a cat end and a settlement,
which most other places won't tell you if a
car's been crashed, checked over and not gone
through insurance before.
The only ones that does that.
So they managed to find that car went for far
too much money, so I left it,
stood out on that one.
But if you guys are buying a car,
a van, or even a motorbike, as they like to
say, you can use a Car
Vertical report, you can use our code CREAM,
the 20% off
your next check, shout out to all the creams
that have been
using that code.
Car Vertical have said there's a good take
up among you guys, and we appreciate that.
This one, and then telling us some of the
issues, I think there's a guy recently bought
a 911, so we've had lots of,
it's quite nice.
When we see an email like that,
where Car Vertical has actually saved
someone's arse, like it has with us,
which is very, very good.
So obviously, like Edwin said,
you can use our discount code,
which is CREAM, or you can actually bundle a
load together, so if you or a friend's
awesome family know you can be buying lots of
cars this year, you can get loads of reports
together, and you can get up to 50% off all
of those checks.
Hell yeah.
Right, what should we get on to first?
What shall we talk about?
Do we have anything to do with what?
You've seen the Grand Tour podcast,
we don't want to talk about that anymore.
Do you know what?
You haven't seen it.
Yeah, you haven't seen anything.
We've only just received the footage today.
How about this, Ben?
I would like you to guess one question that
we asked them.
I mean, we guessed things.
The thing is, Sam tonight.
Yeah.
My brain, it feels like a soup this evening.
Okay.
Yeah.
You asked them, they're shoe sizes.
Fantastic.
You want to know.
First thing we asked, as well.
Yeah, yeah.
And what kind of trouser material they will prefer.
I mean, I guess Francis likes corduroy.
I think that's a natural, that's a given,
really, at this point.
One thing many of you won't have known about
the little interview we had last week.
Well, one is that it was filmed for us,
so we felt like the actual journalists.
It was crazy.
I personally went in before us,
was from the BBC.
Yeah.
I've seen the footage and it looks proper like.
You've seen the question.
I downloaded it to send Dick,
who's doing this one right now,
and also to Alex as well.
And I haven't actually watched it yet,
so I'm a little peruse of it later,
'cause I'm quite excited to do that.
I came through it, and it's proper.
Imagine a press drone, like it,
it's just that.
Oh, great.
Yeah, but it's like that classic black
background logo, YouTube stood there.
I don't know how much we're meant to say.
It was a hotel without a bed in it,
but there was still a head force.
It was quite weird.
It was very strange, but we met,
now we have been near to James and Thomas.
They were at the drive-tribe event,
I think it was, was it last year or two years
ago, I think, at this stage?
And they were on stage with us,
so we very briefly met them,
but we've never actually had a chat with them properly.
And Francis, obviously, we have never met,
and they came out from a previous interview
in a tiny corridor.
Like tiny corridor.
Like we were chest to chest with our backs
against the wall.
Five people, and there were other people
trying to get past as well, and we just
started talking and going, "So how about cars,
huh?"
Yeah, it was immediate.
It was the instant, it was, "I hate it."
So you got E63, right?
Yeah, how's that treating you?
Yeah, we got ML63.
It was pretty good.
It's a credit to those three guys,
it was immediately, it was straight on to car shit.
Yeah.
There was nothing awkward, there wasn't like,
"Hey, an icebreaker in there."
It was like, right, we know we're gonna talk
about cars and we're doing it straight away.
The cameras haven't even started,
we're doing car stuff.
There was a producer there or someone
associated with the show who kept trying to
get their lunch orders 'cause they had a very
limited time out there and yet they made an
hour for us, the usual slots were 15 minutes.
15 minutes, so.
So then post, they said half an hour,
I said, "That won't do."
We have lots to talk about and they managed
to get us an hour, so big up James was
sorting that as well.
So this person was very kindly trying to go,
"Can you guys, "I just need you to choose your lunch?"
And they were like, "Yeah."
So you guys got an hour for two,
and it's interesting, "Oh, we're gonna do that."
So very, very good, very excited.
It was cool, yeah.
So there was a weird first interaction,
especially like Francis is a big,
I mean, obviously the sort of house goes
amassive on YouTube, but Francis is,
he's like UK, so that pretty type thing.
So it was kind of weird, but they are genuine.
I think about shows in good hands.
Yeah.
The chat we had with them, I'm sure the other
people in the room were probably thinking,
"What the hell are these guys talking about?"
They would have had a day of,
saying the other interview is going to be
boring, but I don't think they're going to be
doing calm, nerdy talk, like what we were doing.
They're not going to be looking through his
notebook cake.
So oh, 500 E, where was that?
But James messaged me afterwards and said
they had really good fun with that interview
and they really enjoyed it.
So I'm hoping now that it's out,
you guys have also enjoyed it as well,
because it was quite a big deal for us to get
access to something like that.
And it was lovely if I have someone else to film it.
Yeah, it was cool.
That was quite nice.
Just walked into a room and it was all set up.
I was like, "Yeah, it'd be nice to walk into
a room, wouldn't it be Ben?"
Just have it set up.
These divas.
(laughing)
But yeah, shout out for Grand Tour,
guys.
I hope the launch went well from in the past.
What we got?
Let me just get to that one
moment.
Shall we talk about Grand Theft Auto 6?
Hey,
again, it's slightly later in the day now.
You heard it
here for a couple of weeks now,
I think.
You heard it here many third,
but they released, if you're not into
18:55 GTA VI Car Designs Discussion
gaming, don't worry, we won't go on too long,
but it's hard not to have heard of GTA 6 by now.
They released an extended look,
but the biggest thing is that the cars.
Now, we all watched the, all of us have
watched that extended look car bit.
I scanned it, yeah.
I scanned through the, I jumped through the
mission stuff 'cause I don't want to ruin that.
But there was a point where they get into
what is called a shaft.
That's what Ben is.
There he is.
It's kind of the front end of,
kind of like a CL type thing.
Yeah.
With a later E-Class rear.
Yeah.
But when they show the interior of it,
it is a full W211 E-Class.
With the steering wheel buttons,
every, the coin holders in the corner.
How, that's crazy.
It's gone into detail as well.
It's really, it's like the leather has,
you can tell it's leather on the headrest and stuff.
It does, it is mad.
There was also a E30 convertible,
which is, I think, one of the car from--
Doesn't E30 convertible have an electric roof?
I think super like once--
In a game, it goes down electronically.
And I thought, well, you can't say it's not a
cook 'cause they'll say it's not an E30.
Yeah.
So I guess you can get away over it by thought.
Was that true?
Was TDC an electric roof then?
It might be too early.
I thought the car designs are moving closer
to real life than ever before.
So this is a Reddit shot.
If for audio listeners, I've just pulled up a
Mercedes W211 interior and then I'll go ahead
and pull up the GCA equivalent,
which just has, it's a bit dark,
but you could just see, that's just a full
dashboard from our car.
That's the same thing.
So if every single car in that game is gonna
have that level of detail, obviously we've
seen it in Forza and Gran Turismo.
But this is an open world game.
Yeah, this is...
Car's not the...
It's in the name, but it's not,
it's more about story and there's whatever
else in the gameplay.
So having a thing you just drive around.
They also get you around is crazy.
They don't have to do that.
'Cause it's not a real car.
They don't have to add those buttons where
they are and make it there.
So cool, it'll be really cool.
And the car chasers look sick.
They look really good.
'Cause the physics look like it's gonna be a
mix of sort of four and five,
right?
You can shoot out the tires and the car will
almost accurately crash.
Well, rather than just sort of like just
stopping off of car and following you,
it just flies off screen, by cool.
Yeah, I'm excited for it.
So I know some creamers are gamers,
some creamers are not, but either way,
we're excited.
You know, it's probably been a quiet week,
the week that comes out at TDC Towers.
They're a tough one.
Lewis Hamilton.
Can you read it actually how it's in the chair?
Yeah, I can do actually, 'cause I had to
translate it in my mind to what this was.
Edwin said, LH with the big 40,
I don't know.
So first thing first, I'm gonna pull over the
first photo I found on Google,
I'd like to tell me what the name of the
image that is that they've uploaded.
That's ham.jpg.
More importantly, Lewis Hamilton has bought a
Ferrari a 40, but not just any a 40,
supposedly one that has been in Italy has a
barn find for 30 years.
Now 30 years, that will put it at 95,
so we're only a few years old into the car
being new that someone decided to put it away.
So there's not much that much information on it yet.
But I did remember seeing, I think it was the
end of last year, he said, I've sold all my cars.
I've sold all my cars.
I like collecting art now.
And I think he said somewhere that the one
car he would still like to own is an F40.
It was his childhood, you know,
post the car and that sort of stuff.
So that's cool to see that.
But I want to know where it's from.
Maybe we're gonna have to ask James at DK,
because they are ear to the ground F40,
like they know everything about that stuff,
or even Stuart as well at SBR.
Ferrari.
Yeah, was it Ferrari?
He was like, because obviously Ferrari have
their classic, which is where you can send
your Ferrari back to get checked over.
And if it's all good, they will certify it as
like a, this is 100%
Ferrari original, given our stamp of approval.
I wonder if
that's a car that someone had mentioned to
them and said, I
want to get it done.
And they said, "Alore, we will buy
this."
What would be even more cool if it was from Ferrari?
in there where it's like, oh,
this just depends on that.
It's for, I don't know, something like that
would be a really, really cool story.
That would be very cool.
I was, because the video on this is about a minute 40.
I was so annoyed because I thought,
I thought, okay, he's bought an F40.
Oh, it was almost like whatever.
You can, not that they're easy to come by,
but there's quite a lot of F40s.
Buying one's not too hard.
And then I heard the story and I thought,
I need to know more about this.
He's saying, like, all the parts were original.
He's covered in dust.
I'm like, bro, you put this on YouTube.
You can make it like a five part series out of this.
You can put me in touch with him now.
It would be a great thing to watch.
But the thing is, I always think this with a
lot of his stuff is that he's very trendy and
cool, but he's almost, especially with this
car meds, like I was too trendy for his own good.
It was all filmed on like super eight film
and like classic looking photography.
But I just want to see some shots.
Talk about it.
Just let me see this car.
I don't want an artsy shot of like a,
a dim figure of this car with you standing there.
Man, tell me how you got this.
Where's this car from?
He matches that.
Either way, a very cool thing to have like
as in to find.
Yeah.
And only only someone as big as that
24:09 Lewis Hamilton's Ferrari F40 Purchase
is getting like offered that sort of thing.
It's also quite
cool that he's gone for that.
He could have quite easily, I'm
assuming he's relatively well off.
Well, if he could have
quite easily bought, he could have quite
easily bought a
perfect ready to drive example of an athlete.
Yeah, easily.
But instead he's gone for something like that.
So I want to know if there's ever going,
if there's going to be any I don't know if
it's done, it didn't show like a finished
product or anything.
Or if there's going to, because obviously
there was that rumor at least when he first
joined Ferrari that he wanted to make a
modern day of 40.
Yeah.
Ferrari kind of said, no, if you're going to
try and do something like that,
where it's like almost like a resto model or
something, that would be really cool.
There was a shop, I don't know if it's from
his car, but there's a shop of him standing
next to an F 40 engine.
So I don't know if they've already pulled the
engine out of it.
But I wonder if they pulled in their like,
right, engine out this afternoon,
all done on the same day.
But that is cool.
So yeah, we'll have to try and see if we can
find some more information on where that
car's come from.
I would love to see more content.
And even just from Ferrari's point of view,
to put content out about that,
that's a little bit more raw.
And with Lewis Hamilton, a part of it,
or whatever would be it, that would be so so
cool to watch.
I like the idea of that stool.
I'd like to talk about motorbikes.
Why is that there?
Now, this isn't necessarily a ramp.
It's half ramp.
It's a ramp.
It's not.
It's more, I'd call it a bone to pick.
It's a bone to pick.
And then I'd also like to learn,
mopeds and bike riders.
And this is leaned heavily towards mopeds for
the most part, but bikes do it a lot.
Why do bikes and mopeds sit in your blind spot?
As fair.
Also, bikes and mopeds tailgate worse than
any car than any car.
I sometimes, I'll look in my mirror and I'll
see a moped so close to me.
I'm like, you are the most vulnerable thing
on the road outside of a badger or some sort
of slow-moving animal or a bicyclist.
So like, let's just take it.
Oh, so you can go around me.
I always think there's like true motorbike
lists are very aware and that's what's up.
But like, delivery driver, moped drivers and
young people on 125s are just a,
not a bane, but just they're like,
I don't care if I die.
Delivery riders are, I will die.
It's suicidal.
I don't know what it is at the end.
They're like, if I die on this trip,
I do not care.
I'm making this trip by hook or microke.
I'll do it.
But it's, it's where they sit.
They don't always sit directly behind you.
They sit either right in your,
in your win, in your wing mirror.
Yeah.
So they're light.
Bikes and moped, obviously haven't advanced
enough in the last however many years they've
existed that they don't have a stable light.
So they're just shaking in your mirror like this.
And there's nothing you can do about it.
Or just in your blind spot, just a little bit
behind your bumper.
Just, just, just run the corner of your bumper.
Right in the blind spot.
So if anything walks out, comes out in front of you.
All I'll see is a bloke and a slightly green
jacket fly over my windscreen.
Just under the front behind.
Just a pad tie right across the back of your window.
Hey, pizza frisbeeing up in the distance.
But I'm sorry, there was a motorbike
recently, we did the same.
And I was like, like, surely,
what, why are you, why are you doing this?
This is a risk.
Also, if you're willing to be that risky,
overtake.
Do it.
Do one of the motorbike I had the other day.
This is what, this is what triggered it for me.
Is the one behind me the other day.
And often if there's a bike behind me,
a motorbike or a moped, I will sort of sit
slightly further to the left to give them
that signal of like, I'm letting you go past me.
And it's quite nice, because sometimes you
get a little, thanks.
I'm like, you know what?
You and me?
I did that on purpose.
It's like a cat and a dog, just thinking,
like, look, we don't usually get on.
Fair enough.
And they gave me the microcane nod.
And then the hands of it did his thing.
So that's always nice.
He didn't do it.
And I thought, well, if I have to stop for
anything, you are going to die.
Well, you're not going to die,
but you're going to be pretty uncomfortable
for a while.
I'm doing 160.
You're right.
And then he put his blue lights on.
But I just want to know, if you are a
motorbike, is there a reason for this?
Is it just to annoy people?
Are you scared?
Slipstream.
Oh, I just find it baffling.
And is anyone out there an engineer who can
fix headlights on bikes?
Because I don't understand it.
It's like having a rickety old 50s car ride in you.
It's not good at all.
It's fair.
So be safe.
You know what?
I think bike.
I think comma bike.
Not just think bike.
Think rider.
Just get a car.
Whichever one it is.
Just get a car.
Just get a car.
It's slower, but it is safer.
The 911 smoke email.
Now, what is it?
I have no idea what it says.
I've forgotten the name of the man who sent this email.
And that's fine.
Because that's how we ride on this.
We will put the photo out.
I'll give the overlay to deck,
actually, because it needs the full image.
Someone sent it.
Ben was looking at the auctions in Japan.
You see that classic Japan auction thing.
This is a 997 Porsche 911.
You know what?
Actually, I'll get it so that you can see it.
That's fantastic.
Okay.
So Edwin isn't now seen it.
Ben, you know the auction photo.
You've seen it.
So it's a 997 that's available for auction,
but the room is filled with smoke.
So that's the front end of it.
And then the back.
You can see it chuffing out of the rear.
I mean, fantastic.
I mean, there's going to be lower bids,
I think, on that one.
Also, back surely the next car that goes and
goes, I'm not going in there.
Everyone's going to think that was me.
I've got to wait for that second here with a fan.
But it's really not.
It's not a good look, is it at all?
So yeah, that.
My favorite things as well is that they don't
seem to do it as much anymore,
but I used to be big on looking for cars at
Japanese auction and buying them
30:03 Range Rover Electric Version News
is that in the first photo, which is like the
exterior three quarter view,
the person drives in, but they don't want to
be seen in it.
So they'll lean across into the passenger
seat, but it, depending on the angle of the
photo, a lot of times it just looks like a
Japanese man's been shot dead in the car.
So you open the listing and go,
"Jesus!"
I know, he's just he's just ducking down there.
So I think you can expect to see this come up
for sale at probably some car dealer in the north.
with a fresh engine rebuild and some missing
paperwork sometimes.
Yeah, that is amazing.
That's fantastic.
It's that, but I love that.
That is great.
Because you click on it thinking,
"They've messed up the camera or something."
But at the moment you go to the rear and see the exhaust.
Pluming, smoke out.
Fantastic.
Yeah, so there you go.
So keep an eye out for that on auto trailer
very, very soon.
Ben, you got news.
How are I?
And I think this is news, news,
because you put it in today,
which means it's somewhat recent by the time
this goes out.
And here is, it looks very different for audio listeners.
You're looking at a Range Rover.
Imagine the current generation L-460 big Range Rover.
That's it.
And that's it.
Yeah, the thing is, when we were talking
about this before, you said,
yeah, it looks more like the new Jag thing.
Is that different than the Range Rover GT?
No, the different thing, that's the Range Rover GT.
I mean, we should believe we'll be electric.
We won't go on this too much,
'cause it's not interesting.
But essentially--
Oh, wee.
How much has it got?
Oh, I actually had that.
I had that.
I had power.
I don't know how much.
It was going to be a how much of everything.
Yeah.
If I have the stats.
Oh, here we go.
The price, it starts, it is in US,
but it starts $138,000.
Bargain.
So about a hundred grand.
Not to 60.
Four, four, three.
Oh, wow.
That's actually very fast.
Because I did see one number that I remember,
I recall.
2.88 tons.
Now the thing, again, we're approaching HGV weight.
Like if you go into someone,
which some yummy mommy will be driving this
around and Mac piss, who's late for picking
up kids, you're going into the side of a
course of B and flattening it.
But you're done.
Making it mush.
Allegedly, it's only 73 kilos heavier than
the petrol one.
But still, that's not--
That's like saying we've got a new tank.
It's only 50 kilos more than the old tank.
The old tank did weigh 10 tons.
Most electric cars are usually noticeably heavier.
Yeah, it's
normally like in the hundreds.
That's actually not--
That's like having like a passenger.
I wonder if that weighs less than like it's
not that much more than something like an L32
or something.
I guess.
But you could, if you have--
How many ranges does it have?
That's 300, 300.
300, 300.
See, that's nice.
333.
Okay.
See, that's nice, isn't it?
So coming to company directors soon.
Yeah, coming to the brand spanking new Range Rover.
I watched the cogs turn in Will's mind.
I was like, how much do I have to make this year?
Yeah.
People looking at their take-ons going,
time's up, pal.
No, no, no, no.
We can't take any more of these back.
It's not cool, but possibly not,
well, it may not be good 'cause it's a reliability thing.
It's got an ingenious battery.
Well, the entire powertrain,
the motors, the batteries and everything else
is all made in-house in the UK.
Which is cool to have it made in the UK,
but-
Now, isn't their creamers-
That is it, but yeah.
More, more, wise, creamers will know,
but wasn't that the thing with the eyepace?
Wasn't that they, weren't they all English?
I don't know that, if I'm honest.
I thought my passes are OK.
I thought there were lots of issues with-
Creamers will know.
Electric creamers will know.
I like that pace.
I feel like an electric Range Rover makes
some sense to me.
It's a bit like the electric-
I still would-
I'd like to have an engine because I like the
noise of an engine that's going on,
even if it is quiet.
Because that's what Range Rovers do really well.
If you get the right Range Rover,
whether it's a five-litre or one of the
diesel ones, it just feels nice and smooth,
but an electric one just feels like it would work.
So we rented an L460 when we went to Monterey.
In quite a similar colour to this fetching,
green colour, but it had an inline six,
we believe it was a P400, Ben,
you knew this.
Yeah, it was a hybrid...
A hybrid lens, yeah.
And it was a rubbish engine.
Yeah, it sounded.
It didn't sound good, it was not fast,
it was slow as hell, but it was a Range Rover.
We were there in the inside of the car,
as you usually are.
It would have been fine if that car was electric.
As long as there is a spicy version,
if you want fastness, so you have like a
five-litre or something or four-four.
Cool, I'm fine with that, I don't mind that.
I do think it's the same as the Rolls-Royce.
I don't care what engine is in a Rolls-Royce,
as long as it takes me there and waft.
I have two things I want to say.
The first thing about the I-PACE is that it
was obviously developed in the UK,
but it was made in Austria by some outsourced company.
And the motors were designed by Jaguar,
but the batteries were sourced from all over the shop.
Okay, all right.
And the other thing is that this is cool,
it's a bit like the Rolls-Royce Spectre,
it's like, you know what, it can't make sense.
It is the wrong shape.
It's the shape of a petrol car.
It's like the front end to fill it with an
engine, and you just put...
I would love to see the engine,
babe.
I looked, I looked to see if I could try and
find a photo, maybe they've released them by
now, but I couldn't.
Is it their stuff?
Can you put things in there?
I'd love to know, like, yeah,
is there a frunk?
Because there's so much space there.
You're surely you're not filling that whole thing.
Obviously there's a...
It would take a good amount of space,
especially the front motors.
But the batteries and the floor.
In the floor, yeah.
So I think the Renault 5 was the same as
that, and there was a lot of stuff in there.
The front of that car.
Yeah, but that's still a proportion like a
small hatchback, whereas this is so big.
That engine bay is...
You're fitting big things in there.
What is it, an S-68?
They put in them, or an S-63?
S-68, yeah.
If you look at the dimensions of that engine
to go in there, that's space there.
What we're filling it with, just your air con condenser.
It does kind of make sense, isn't it?
Because at any Range Rover, doesn't matter
what engine you put in it, it's never gonna
be an economical.
An electric car, at least, is not what,
economical is probably the wrong word to put it.
Will be cheaper to run than a petrol or a
diesel equivalent, so.
It means I can see it, but it's probably,
I don't know, is it gonna tank into value?
Who knows?
Probably.
I don't know that.
'Cause I don't know how many,
like, there was a G-Wagon electric,
and I don't see many of those.
I didn't know they were out yet.
Yeah, you can get a cheaper one.
Wow.
I don't remember the last time I saw one,
but again, I don't know how many G-Wagons are
actually being sold.
So those are the facts you come to the podcast for.
I don't know how many of these have been
sold, wishy-washy, if they will be sold.
Do your own research.
But I've got G-Wagons, they're off 14
electric G-Wagons on auto-trader right now,
electric G-Wagons for sale.
'Cause they're the ones that can do the big spin.
They can do the big spin now.
How about that?
We've got the cheapest one, sort by lowest.
That's the TDC way, it always has been.
136,000 pounds or a car with 5,000 miles.
The most expensive being 184,000 pounds.
That has dropped 15 grand since it first went up.
This was 200 grand new.
200,000 pound new listed.
Heavens.
Holy bull sack, man.
Most of these cars have dropped around
between five to 10% in price and they've all
been up for about three months.
That's nice.
So that's tough.
That's nice, so Range Rover,
keep an eye on that.
I'd like to talk about Bristol.
37:16 Bristol Fighter Revival Update
That's interesting.
I'm for one car Bristol.
It's not been talking about Bristol,
but this isn't the Bristol you're thinking.
It's the car brand Bristol.
He's back.
They're not.
They're not really back.
What they're doing is, I read this,
I said Bristol is back, and they said with a
new V10, well it says a new run of the V10
powered fighter.
Ah, okay, the Bristol fighter,
yeah.
That's what they call me.
Do you know how the Bristol fighter is,
Ben?
Me.
No, really, be serious.
I know, I doubt this is the news.
It was an English car that had a Viper V10
and gull wing doors.
That's quite cool.
They did look cool on our photo up.
So imagine a Viper sort of shape.
Yeah.
Imagine a Viper English.
Yeah, a Viper but English that someone down
the pub made
Yeah.
There is a photo.
But apparently there's--
That's great, that's got TVR vibes.
It does.
Awesome.
Meanwhile, the fake BBSLMs.
It's angry TVR.
I remember once, the first time I ever went
to Goodwood, I begged and pleaded with my
parents for years to go to Goodwood Festival
of Speed and we went and we stayed in some
hotel down the road and there was just,
it came out in the morning, I was like,
"Sup Bristol fighter, am I right in thinking
there was a T?"
They said that they were gonna do a,
I think it was either nitrous or turbo that
was gonna be a thousand horsepower.
'Cause I remember hearing that and it was a
bit like hearing about the Selena 7 twin turbo.
I'm like, "No one's talking about this,
bro.
As far as it's going in the world."
Only I know.
It was supposed to make a thousand and one horsepower.
Sorry.
Was it a fighter T?
Yeah.
You were right.
Five T in 2006, they announced the fighter T,
a turbo charged version of the fighter.
It was aiming to produce a thousand and 12 horsepower.
Yeah.
And RPM.
Bristol, come on Bristol.
Bristol claim the car would be capable of
more than 270 miles an hour,
but it would be electronically limited to a,
in quotation marks, more than adequate 225
miles an hour.
But I don't believe that there were ever,
yeah, Bristol car website now states that no
T's were ever produced.
Bristol used to be the sort of famous,
I would say, dealership in London,
which is now, I think it went to calm and now
it is, I want to say it's Indian motorcycles.
It was McLaren at one point,
I think that might have been something.
Oh, possibly, yeah.
It's sort of changed.
But I remember seeing it Bristol all the time.
I was like, why is there, it's like a new car
dealership with old looking cars.
Yeah.
But apparently they have new owners and it's
been 15 years since they've been dumped,
we've done anything basically.
And they're doing a new run of Bristol fighters.
I'm calling it now.
I know what will happen.
It will, it's always the same.
And I wish them, I hope that it goes,
I hope that it happens.
But every single time this happens and an old
car gets brought back, gets brought back with
a set of new wheels, like modern wheels,
and they look wrong.
Now this, if you're listening,
it has kind of like an old school 90s BBS
style looking thing, which fits the era of the car.
Lots of these companies that remake old cars,
they just go and whack a new set of wheels.
And usually it's to fit new brakes,
'cause they put big brakes on it,
so you need bigger wheels.
But please keep the vibe.
I love that.
So there are 13 currently registered.
Okay.
How many do you think they're making now?
They're making 13.
I have lines.
Oh, okay, perfect.
No, they've got five at the building.
Apparently they're not gonna be,
this is reading from AutoCar by the way.
Oh, I'm reading from AutoCar as we speak.
No way.
They are not traditional continuations,
but they'll be sold via individual vehicle approval.
That's an IZA to you and I.
And will, so they'll be registered as 2008,
whatever.
That's COVIDges and stuff.
2008.
Yeah, they'll make it until 2011.
Oh, wow.
So the old VIN numbers that are being reusable.
But first car makes its, the three days this weekend.
Yes.
Coming, it would have been, we can just been
for you, for you man out there.
So you would have seen it before us.
So this is all a pointless sense.
You heard it here.
Where are they building it?
Bristol.
Is it in Bristol?
So these they were building it in Bristol.
They used to have a London, not dealership,
but like a warehouse type thing,
because when a car throttle was looking for a
unit, we found one and we were going to go look there.
I remember it, it was next that it was in
that like weird, I think it was Brentford or something.
Oh, right, yeah.
They, 'cause I saw it, I was like,
(gasps) and I was like, hey,
man, new cars come, 'cause we've got Marcos coming back.
Bristol?
Coming back, I believe Marcos is coming back.
Everyone, everyone on that early 2000s,
I remember like reading about cars in the
library before I had access to a reliable internet.
And there were all these car brands that I'd
tell my dad about and be like,
do you ever heard of a Marcos?
And he'd be like, you're dead,
no, doesn't exist.
Doesn't exist.
Or there's one every year that gets made.
These are sort of things, what was the 100
countries, man?
Was it a panels?
Oh panels, it's panels.
You know about panels, you don't even know cars,
mate.
You haven't played a spec.
He'd never driven an Esperanto.
Didn't think so.
Also, I've got no idea what that thing
raised him.
Also, from what I've just read,
will be like this, built very close where
Concord was built.
Wowzers, quite cool.
Wowzers, man.
That's the thing, right?
They are aeroplane related or something,
I think?
Are they?
They were Bristol Aeroplane Company,
originally.
I knew that, mate.
Because of the war.
I could hear that.
Yeah.
Cheering the war.
And now they're making cars,
maybe, possibly, again.
Yeah.
And they also said, we'll make five,
but maybe more.
Get perfect.
Do you know what, the sort of vagueness cream
loves to see?
Yeah.
I like that, small car companies going,
we'll only make five-ish.
Speaking of vague releases, it's episode 99.
I wonder what next week will bring.
I think.
Maybe some clothes on our back.
Merchandise.
Oh, sorry.
Hot dogs, got it, you got it.
Got it, that'd be great.
What do we got next?
We have got, for my next trick,
I would like to talk about Sadiq Khan.
Okay, now, I'll be honest, we have a list of
ideas to put in, and I looked at Smoky 911
and Sadiq Khan, and I didn't know what,
sorry, I looked at Bristol and Sadiq Khan.
No idea.
This is now officially a political podcast.
I know, it's not.
I just thought the story was quite funny.
Who is he?
He is the mayor of London.
It's just absolutely chuffing down the road
at Mac 10.
You wouldn't have heard that,
but something went down the road quite quickly.
Anyway, Sadiq Khan is the mayor of London.
And has been for some time.
I mean, he keeps getting, he's still there,
and he's been there for some time,
but he does appear to be, at least on the
surface, relatively unpopular.
Mainly because of the US stuff,
so that's not actually the same US as you,
but in a similar vibe.
I wasn't US cars, actually, it's a different thing.
Sadiq Khan's out.
This is, we just read from all talks,
Yeah.
This is a much more reputable news outlet.
Is this the cream daily?
No, this is, I'm just bait.
I asked to go.
Okay, perfect.
So Will is basically reading effectively
Facebook posts and going, "Oh,
hey, I'm just bait."
It's been around for a long time.
True, yeah.
We nearly rented their office,
too.
Did you?
Cidic Khan has been convicted and fined over
an untaxed Nissan micro.
What a gen.
Yeah, first thing is about, they haven't
said, "Gen, the picture is a K11."
Well, but I think it's placeholder.
Again, journalistic integrity is low on this story.
The D.V.A.
took the London mayor to court after official
records, apparently showed the 24-year-old
Nissan micro 24-year-old.
That would make it a K11.
Yeah, it was a 2.
It could be right on the cusp.
It's not one of the bubbly ones.
I think 2003 or--
No, yeah, 2002.
2002, they bought in the new dials as well.
So then you get a rev gauge as well,
which I never had.
So I think it was 04 is the beginning of K12.
So I think we're on the K11.
What's back was it?
I'd love to know that.
Was it BT3 Blue?
The DVLA took the London mat to court over
the official records, after official records
apparently showed the 24-year-old Nissan
Micro registered in his name.
The car was spotted untaxed in January,
but letters about it were bizarrely sent to a
Gordon Ramsay restaurant in East London,
rather than the nearby TFL offices.
Karl was eventually convicted in his absence
in order to pay 340 pounds and 84 pounds.
His team says someone has falsely registered
the car in his name, and claims it is
isn't the first time he's been targeted
like this.
I want to buy a Mark VII Golf and just park
it in the clean air zone of Bristol,
but registered to bed.
I think an S2000
would do that just fine.
I'm going to park it backwards,
facing the wrong way on a street.
Wouldn't be the first
time.
We haven't heard about the Renault stuff
either, so we're
waiting to hear back from that official Renault.
It went for £50, Ben, they sold for £142 and £8P.
Now, I hope to the Lord that that is a
genuine bid and one of you haven't
essentially wasted Kyle's time,
but if you did win that and you're in an
event, I want to see those on the dog.
I want to see you wearing the William shoes,
because that's
cool to see out in the wild.
I think people like shoes, but people like to
sneak ahead.
People like shoes.
But you get those shoes in shoes.
You're
in shoes.
That guy, that one guy is over.
There's no way.
Name your top five shoes.
Name me five shoes.
I've been out of the game for a long time.
Name your top five shoes.
I went into the Adidas NMD was my first guy.
I'm not asking for a list of shoes you've bought.
I'm
asking for your top 12 shoes from your ear.
A set of leather broaks.
That's not a shoe.
Name your shoes that I know.
That was the equivalent of me going,
what's your favorite car?
I've been going number one sports car.
A true sneakerhead would know the model.
Okay.
Let me just get back to the game for time.
Okay, you've got your Air Force ones.
Of course.
Now I even know that name.
So that can't be what sort of spec I do.
I used to go for, I used to go for just all
white or I go for a cool color tick.
I think Ben is like Instagram car people
where he's not actually into cars,
but he's like GT3 RS, Aventador SVJ,
McLaren 720S.
No, I didn't like the sock ones I never liked.
Oh, I'm not into anymore.
When I was like 17, I was like,
it's sure cool.
Did you men in black or mine?
I have a pair of one that I probably would
have a pair of clucks, wallabies,
a photo on the screen.
You will hate these.
Clucks don't know.
I don't know why I have these,
but they're like the same shoes.
I don't know why I don't.
It's that they weren't breaking bad and I
bought them for very cheap.
I've never worn them.
Here we go.
Clucks, wallabies.
Yeah, it's a great name as well.
That's like a child's shoe.
That's just a man.
those shoes.
They're not in that material.
They're the exact specs, except for the higher ones.
That was when I went to school,
when you saw someone wearing those shoes,
you know, as soon as they kick that ball,
it's going so high.
They are the ultimate scoop shoe.
Yeah.
If I see someone wearing them shoes,
I'm like, you'd better not be on my team
because I already know you're kicking that
over the fence.
And you can flick like puddles of them as well.
I get your mates wet.
I was like, I think you could do it.
But I'm in my school, but that's what you
couldn't kind of do.
Never hang on.
Why are we talking about this?
I don't know.
You're talking, no, I'm not as a whole.
I'm not going that broad.
I'm saying, I'm asking you for your top five
shoes as I can in the shoes he asked,
but like trainers.
Trainers, I don't know anymore.
I haven't been out of the game.
I've got, I own two pair of shoes,
three pairs of shoes.
I used to be really into this.
I used to be really into PSD games.
I used to be like, oh, well,
you just play it.
I'd go speed so long.
I can't have a single game.
I've got a pair of three games I can tell you about.
Oh, my favorite game was shooting game.
And then driving game.
This was at a time when like when you had
like, G, like Yeezy's were a big thing.
I might be stuck.
Is that one of yours?
Yeah, I have a pair of Yeezy's.
Okay, cool.
Still, I have them.
I used to run in them, but now I don't wear
them at all.
I actually know where they are.
Anyway, that's a, yeah.
Fantasticly vague tangent.
Yeah, I had that.
I had loads of stuff.
I can't remember the name of the name of it.
You've made that one guy who's obsessed with
your feet really happy.
You can imagine you in a set of Yeezy's.
He's searched up Clark's wallabies and he's
done for the whole day.
And he's just going, the Clark's wallabies.
I had a set of Timbaland boots.
New York.
I can see you in that.
I might wear those hair, I was thinking,
because they're a great unit shoe.
I keep asking him what his top five trainers are.
And we straight into another category.
He uses the politician.
You know what?
He don't have a top five anymore.
My father was a shoemaker.
This was not my micro.
Someone has put this micro in my name.
I don't remember the names of shoes anymore,
but I'm just giving you shoes.
I've also been giving you five pairs now.
You name me five pairs.
I didn't say I was a shoemaker.
That's a fair point.
What are we talking about right now?
We will join Ben's in shoes.
You asked corner next week.
I have five shoes anymore.
I have five pairs of shoes.
We will take five more shoes next week.
I know the Crocs Rule Everything Around Me podcast.
Crocs are actually a great shoe.
I've also brought that up.
Crocs are great.
Crocs actually genuinely are fantastic shoes.
I reckon I could have said anything.
Anything.
Anything you would have said that.
A Birkenstock.
A Birkenstock.
Can you like the slip on ones?
What is that?
What is a Birkenstock?
A Birkenstock Boston.
Oh, God.
This is horrible.
I hate whatever this is.
Is this what normal podcasts are for me?
This is what I think is a crock for every occasion.
I hate you.
I hate that shoe so much.
I really hate that.
I knew you would.
That is such a...
That sandals.
I hate sandals.
I like sandals.
I got my tassels.
Ben legitimately, the
52:20 Road Rage Incident and Listener Interaction
type of guy to tell up to the unit with those
finger toes.
Oh.
I hate them as well.
I don't like those, but I wear them just to annoy Will.
I know it.
me and then you remember that guy in the comments.
Yeah.
And him getting a slightly better picture of your feet.
Now, can I try to tell that guy that I've now
thrown away the shoes he wanted to buy?
That's tough.
So go dump-stiving.
Oh, where could they do that?
It would be in a dump near in...
I think I asked this before and you said the
same question.
I was just trying to get you to dock yourself.
I was
supposed to know.
Yeah, let's go.
What have we gone next?
Look, we tend to talk about tales of our
interactions with the public and that we love
to do that.
Except yesterday, we used it for good,
brackets, not at all.
We would drop
off some tires.
I was driving, well, in the passenger seat,
and then Patrick in the back seat,
Ben, not there, as always.
Yes, sir.
We came back from the podcast.
Not easy.
You said, "I'm not even coming to the podcast in London.
We came back and did some work here."
So I'm not even coming to work after.
Wouldn't be down that JT.
How much of a YouTuber did you shoot yesterday off?
What we did, we did a lot of planning stuff.
We filmed some stuff.
We took stuff to the social stuff.
Cool.
Which is what I told you to do.
So you did exactly what you needed to do.
Anyway, leaving the tire shop,
and as we exited, I looked to my right,
and there was space.
There was a car coming in the distance,
but space enough.
I pulled out at a normal speed.
I wasn't crawling it by any means.
The car that I pulled out in front of,
in inverted commas, who was quite a while
away, took great, great annoyance with the
fact that I had pulled out at a normal speed,
with a normal space.
So he sped up behind, and started throwing up
all sources.
I actually can't believe you've done this.
He was throwing up all sorts of,
not gang size, but, um, referenties.
He saw
them, and then I went, that's a crypt,
and I'm a blood.
Yeah.
No, he was, he was throwing up some
obscenities and shouting, and we had the
windows down, he had the windows down.
Anyway, we got to the next roundabout.
Which wasn't that far away.
Just on the road, I even put my hand out,
not, I just put my hand out a window and gave
a little, was that an open palm like a,
sorry about that, fair enough.
I also did the same.
So we did both, perhaps that came across as sarcasm.
So, but he was a genuine, it was a,
sorry, if you're upset about that,
I'm sorry.
Anyway, we pulled up at the roundabout,
and he was right, he decided to get right up our arse.
And what about the car?
And the car too.
He pulled up along on the left side of us,
at the windows of that, and he started
shouting, I can't remember what he was shouting.
It was, if it was self-titled,
it would have just said inaudible.
Yeah.
And I said something, I can't remember what I said.
It was something along the lines of,
sorry about that, but you do need to slow down.
Very condescending, but he was,
look, he was being very angry.
And so anyway, he then, he was in the left
lane, but then launched forward onto the
middle of the roundabout to try and cut us
off, got in front of us, which I was like,
here's fine, brother.
I got nothing but time.
And as he then pulled out, as we went around
the roundabout, he didn't kind of stopped in
the roundabout.
We just stopped and let it happen.
So he pulled into the left lane to cut us up
and go right.
So he was making a point, of being a cock.
So anyway, he got around the roundabout and
as it was a 30 road, he was doing like 15 or
20 to deliberately try and annoy us.
It didn't work because we find it very funny.
So I did shout out the windows,
top of my voice, slow down, which he did to
about five months.
miles an hour, to which I then shouted,
that's perfect.
Keep it there.
He didn't like that one, so sped up again.
So we then got to the next roundabout and he
decided to go in the right lane,
turning right as roundabouts were.
We were in the left lane to go straight.
He had the windows down and stopped expecting
some again, expecting us to be angry at him.
And I realized there was perfect moment.
So as we went past, I just shouted and did up the inside.
He wasn't happy with that.
So he was pointing.
We couldn't have first.
At some point, I was like, is he finding this
as funny as we are finding it funny?
Then I look at him, he looks quite red.
And he keeps gesticulating and pointing at dash cam.
This is the biggest thing.
So he was not only was tearing up middle
fingers and things, but he kept pointing at
his dash cam and the dash cam in the back.
So he had front and rear dash cam.
So the reason I'm telling the story is I'm
hoping, I'm really hoping that this comes up
in some sort of dash cam compilation that he
posts this somewhere.
Because this could be a fantastic one to have proof of.
He's very angry.
And he followed us for a little while as well.
The best part was he kept following us.
And then when it was time for us to turn off,
he shouted, "Yeah, you go down there."
Or, "Yeah, you turn down there."
And we went, "We are."
Yeah, that's where I'm going.
You go where you're going.
I didn't think for a while I was like,
"He's gonna follow us."
And just be, some real odd folk out there,
getting real angry.
Realistically, he's getting angry about the
fact that he might have been slowed down slowly.
And then he thought, "You don't want?"
I've got time now.
I'm gonna follow them.
I think I'll follow them.
I think I'll break in front of them.
I think I'll slow my day down just to do this.
It's like, but also, you got angry about
getting slowed down after you sped up to me pulling out.
You're now an ass man.
I genuinely, I would be happy to hold my
hands up and say, maybe I did pull out on you
too early, but when I was there--
Not to Ben.
But when I was there, I thought I was
completely in the right.
So I'd be interested to see,
I'm willing to take the air on having pulled out.
We'll see an actual mood play.
But either way, sorry, Mr.
Cash Cry Man, tough for you.
Yeah, it was very angry, angry.
I think that's what driving a Cash Cry would
do to you.
It would just make you, you just get in it and go.
Thank you.
You stupid.
That was a manual as well.
It was brand new.
It was one of the brand new ones.
What was it?
It was a 26-year-old.
Yeah.
Why is it so angry?
Successful.
It was just very angry.
Yeah.
Angry about that.
Or he's just nicked it.
Which would make sense.
Get out of the way, please go.
Or he's just had a really bad day.
Fair, we all do that.
We all do that.
What have we got next?
Okay, that brings our list of things to an
end, but that's not the end of the podcast.
Oh.
Because we--
Attention.
Secret.
No, don't say we--
Is it merch that's coming out next week?
Shh.
Shh.
Shh.
Shh.
Stop saying that.
Sorry.
Stop saying that.
No, let's do a one of the week,
because we want things weekly.
And we're gonna talk about those things.
Weekly.
Ben, have you got any of those?
Yep, here we go.
I have one.
I have one on the week, and it's a bit normal.
Oh, yeah.
But I want it.
It's a cash cut.
It's a manual silver cash cut.
No, it's A, I would like A, three series,
and a daily.
And I would quite like a--
What generation is that?
G, 30.
Okay, the newer ones.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Another brand new lawyer class thing,
but the current ish one.
I want one.
It is, everything I see them,
the saloon one, it pleases me.
I hear that.
I thought I could possibly make it happen.
That's my one.
But you'd have to sell both cars right to get
into it like that.
Now this is the thing.
Speck.
Wait, for me, the speck would be,
it would be a black one with a tan leather
interior, which is quite--
Like a cognac type thing.
Yeah, I was a five series.
Literally like that, yeah.
Like a saddle leather interior.
No one knows who Gabs is.
Some of you might.
He's a good man.
It's great, man.
And he's got a car that's like that.
Yeah, he has a car that's black with a brand interior.
People listening.
All right.
(laughs)
It's a fantastic comparison.
This guy knows bull.
His name's Gabs.
I would like, I don't, engine might,
no.
An ideal world, we're talking like a 340i.
A B58, yeah.
A big 58.
In daily terms, say I was to buy one to get
rid of the Golf 4, let's say.
I would be perfectly fine with just like a 320.
And now would it be a petrol?
Yeah, a petrol.
Because of the 48, the two liter turbo.
Yeah, that's the one.
It would be great, nice.
Yeah, well, possibly not.
Possibly not.
Of the low down grunt of the six cylinder.
But at least you've got that top end power to
really get you around the tone in your little area.
Also, you'd be the first one to have one in
your area, because everyone else has got cars
from 30 years ago.
That's not true.
Yeah, I like that.
I would like that very much.
So maybe on the horizon, any interesting ones
of the week, just kind of like just things you've seen.
Just like just sort of general traffic for
you this week.
I'd really like a, I could juke,
I've also been thinking of a scoda
The Fabio?
I thought that was fantastic.
I'd like the big T.
Sorry, it's not one of the best things.
It's not hypercar of the week,
it's one of the week.
No, but I just, sometimes it's good to
sprinkle in a little bit of...
How would you say?
Look, we've been talking to you,
and that's kind of the whole podcast.
And that's disappointing.
You've been saying that you like a V8
vintage, but then we've been saying what
about a V12 on to it, and then you've been
saying about an event at all.
What have you thought more about this?
I've been thinking a lot.
Don't know who's got a V8 vintage.
No, no, no, no, hold on, hold on,
let's just pause this.
And this is gonna upset you.
I've been thinking.
What's about to happen?
I'd like a V12 vintage.
You penis.
We just established you didn't want one.
I've been watching Reels, pal.
And I'd like one.
They're teenagers for their reason.
I'd really like one.
What reels have you been watching?
I've been watching just ones of just people
just tearing it up in V12.
Ooh, so right, let's sit down and discuss
this like, have a look.
Let's do it.
Right, I'm not financing one.
No, that was fine, we'll get to that.
We'll bully you down that, yeah.
You acquire yourself a V12 option.
Sure.
If, would you look at a V8 advantage and go,
"I'm so much better than him,"
or would you go, "There's a most of the car
for way less money."
Well, that's the fact.
(laughing) 'Cause also, you want a manual.
Like a manual V12.
Also, I do believe this as well,
which is something that they're going up.
Surely.
I think so too.
I think they're very undervalued.
So, that makes me feel better about it.
But for me, my angle is less about one.
I thought how I'd feel sitting in the V12,
looking at the V8, and it's how I'd feel
sitting in the V8, looking at the V12.
But that was my next question.
That was a bar.
But you can't--
Let's go up though.
Yeah.
You don't wanna go down.
I won't know.
What?
I feel like I've experienced it.
It's the whole vibe of like--
It's too much money.
It is small.
Okay, so if you don't wanna start in a V8 and
go to a V12--
'Cause if I sat in, well, I probably would have one.
But if I was driving that and I saw a V12,
I'd think it's just not him.
It's not the guy I want.
What does that mean?
I'm in the car and it looks the same and whatever.
It feels very simple.
It probably handles very similar,
but it's not the right one.
I'm gonna be at the back of my mind at all times.
So you couldn't have a V8.
It would need to be a V12.
I think I've decided that.
Now, you're in a V12 on to do you've got your
new car and you see an event at all.
Granted, they're completely different,
you know, bull parks.
You know, one's playing baseball,
you're playing tennis or something,
I don't know.
Right?
What do you feel?
Do you feel like I need to work?
I'm happy with the V12, but I need to work
harder to get the--
Oh, instead of install.
Or do you go, I don't even want the V12.
I just wanna get to that event at all.
Both.
So there you go.
I would quite, I would very happy getting a
V12 vintage and then an event store.
So then an event store is just,
it's just, oh yeah.
Do you know what they say, Ben?
They say shoot for the moon,
brackets the event door, and land among the
stars, the V12, V8.
And then you've got that car.
Yeah.
And that means you've got it.
So it means you've got a sword in this fight,
and you can always take that sword and upgrade it.
I think if I fight at all, I've been trying
to get a better sword.
I think you would have a heart attack if I
shirt to you, out of shock, or what do you say?
If I bought V12 on finance, for example.
I'd fall out of my chair.
Yeah.
And it's quite difficult to do that.
Very big sofa.
Yeah.
But yeah, that's what I want.
Fair.
But I won't.
Yeah.
'Cause I
1:04:17 V12 Vintage Dream Car Discussion
can't.
But that's fair.
That's fine.
That's okay.
I want.
But that's, let's build our boy up.
Exactly.
This is the whole point.
We just need a starting block because the
issue we would do is going, right,
where do we start from?
And you go, here, no there.
No, it's hit.
Actually, I don't want to play the game.
I want to play the game.
I don't know what I'm doing.
What do I do?
'Cause you're an odd specimen,
Benjamin.
Fantastic.
That's true.
That's what makes you funny.
Let's get into this then, shall we?
Well, my God.
So, but I'm saying is you, you,
you are in a fantastic position to work upon from.
We have YouTube channel.
Yeah.
That make do cars.
Yeah.
Correct.
We've all said so already.
We're at, we've got bonus point one.
Fair.
Right.
'Cause you got, if something does was to go
wrong, you have that back up.
Yeah.
Many people would look at us,
be to our advantage and go, blimey.
If that blows up, I'm right,
I'm right up, shit's creepy.
I haven't even got the internet.
You can fix a bloody thing.
Got 89 run fuel round here.
Whereas you could go sod it mate.
We'll work the engine out tomorrow.
Yeah.
It'll be in the lift for six months.
We should take it to a specialist and do a
video with them and be able to get,
you know, discounts on parts and things.
There is, you know what it is?
It's, it's, it's more, what's the word?
It's worse to have the ability and not use it
than use the ability.
Always look on the bright side of life.
But I still have to buy the car.
Of course.
And that's okay.
No, but that's okay.
Because the, the issue is we are,
we both have, like Will has a mercy.
I'll go, I have the 550.
I'm not in a position to buy a 550 yet,
but I know that that's the goal.
I'm working for it.
Whereas you, you keep going and you're like,
I don't know what the goal is.
And then one day it's like, it's this,
but they might not be that.
One thing I have to shoot for it.
I still don't think you know.
I do want that.
The goal say is that events still still to me
is like the guy.
But, however, the thought of the retail
advantage, we had a conversation the other day.
I'm much better if I can see a path to
something I can see it in, even if it's
blurring the distance, I'm much more likely
to actually lock in for it.
Whereas the event store, for example,
I don't know how it will get to that point,
but that's not the point.
You don't need that.
That's fine.
But a retail advantage, I see a way that I
could possibly in the future.
The thing is for me, my ultimate dream car is an F1.
F1.
That's not happening.
I can't go, I'm not buying a car then.
There's no point buying a car until the F1.
No, that's not what I'm saying.
But I feel better about a V12 on us.
You know what?
It's obviously a lot of money,
but it's like I could possibly one day.
You need to drive one.
I think don't worry about the path.
No, genuinely.
On a real thing here is don't worry about
what, because if everyone knew how to get it,
we'd all be doing it.
where you go, okay, I know how to get from A
to B, but there is no A to B.
The A to B, you need to get from A to E.
It's not the letters that you get in the middle.
I don't know what I'm talking about.
But anyway, you need some more about that.
Just know that you're going to get there.
It doesn't matter what path you take.
You might have to go on a little estuary.
You might have to go on a boat.
Jack, you might have to get a quad bike.
You might have to camp outside for a bit.
You might have to do other things.
You might have to do a side quest in order to get there.
You might have to sell some shoes.
But the goal's always there.
No, I get that.
But the path, do whatever you have to do.
What I'm saying is that that car feels like
it could be achievable one day,
whereas when a store feels to me like,
I don't know.
I think we need to get you a drive-in one so
that you go right.
I feel it now.
It's a real thing.
It's a real possibility.
Not a possibility, but I've touched and I've tasted this.
Don't taste this.
Whoever's car is that we can find for you.
I'm interested to know with you,
Benjamin.
And I see this a lot with many people will
have a dream car, but not everyone will
actually be that bothered about owning it.
Because owning it is actually quite problematic.
The way it looks is the way it sounds.
Like driving it once or experiencing it or
just seeing it is almost like enough.
And then you have other stuff around it is
whether you might be fulfilled by just having
that drive in either of those cars or both
those cars and then go, "You know what?
I don't actually
want the..."
No, I want to own it.
But on that point, at the minute,
the thought of owning something like that in
my current setup and situation I wouldn't like.
But that's fine, that's okay.
But with these millions you have,
it's the best place to be in.
But what I mean is that I wouldn't,
even if I could scrape to give it to actually
get it, I wouldn't feel comfortable owning it.
Because I don't have anyone to keep
it.
But that's okay.
The circumstance does not overcome the,
sorry, the one does not overcome the
circumstance of the car.
It's fine.
As long as it is a goal that you're like,
I will do this, I will have this.
Then all you need to do is just keep an eye
on the market.
Like what I'm doing with the 550,
you're waiting to pull the trigger at the right time.
There's a lot of analogies and things going
on in this whole section.
I'm waiting to pull the trigger on Ben,
anyone.
I think you will might do that at some point.
I do feel that sometimes.
Thanks guys.
Would you like to drive one of them?
Or would you prefer to wait?
No, I'll drive it.
Okay.
Yeah.
Cause then then worst case.
Hang on.
Hey, stop your stupid little speed.
speaking.
I said this stupid fool.
Yeah.
We were in Monterey
1:09:37 Monterey Car Experience
colleague place we've never been to.
And we'll hopefully
return to.
And that was the possibility of that SVJ.
And I
said, there was a pos, I even said to you,
what if there
was a possibility of a passenger ride or
something like
that?
And you said, no, I'll wait till I own one.
You did.
And you made quite a big point of that.
I'll be honest with you.
That was just to make sure that I was just a
stock bill from going over there himself and asking.
But it was a little shrewd.
I would like to have, I would like to appeal later.
I just got, I just got shy.
I don't know.
So we're saying, what are the week of E12 on pitch?
Wow.
Are we?
Yeah.
A 15 minutes later, we're saying that.
Can I say, I think I've asked you this
before, but I want it again.
I want an age.
You said in your 30s, right?
I would like to say, I would confidently say,
things confident people don't do.
I'd confidently say, I think,
I would like, I'd aim for pre-30.
Wow.
Okay.
Because we just over five years.
21 years.
To get it for Astonine.
Okay.
Fair.
I think we can, you can do that.
We'll be there.
Yeah.
We'll, we'll be pushing just behind.
I'm not, yeah, I'm
not last age or toy yet, but maybe one day.
Ben's waiting for that day that he comes in
to the unit and wonders what's going on.
We go, this is our videographer,
Ben.
We've sold his shoes to a man on the internet.
Hey, I'll sell my shoes for Astonine.
So you're going to have to do some,
do some stuff on that.
Because again, you got to sometimes you just,
it's not about how you get on the boat.
It's just about staying on it.
It's about how you, it's not about how you
stand by your car.
It's not about, it's not about the boat you're on.
Dress for the boat you want,
not the boat you have.
That's the one that you actually go.
That's it.
Because these cars, you know,
like you said, they're going off and vanning.
I am scared of that.
They, yeah.
But try not to be too, also they do go off
and vanning, there are always opportunities
and they won't always consistently go up.
And would you be okay owning a,
now I know you wouldn't, but for the thought
of the question.
Well, would you be okay with owning a rougher
one, one that needs some work?
Yeah, it always depends what the work is.
But in that case, those have always got a lot
more time before they start going up to you.
It's only when the market tends to go really
silly that those ones get pulled up with them.
It's always at the beginning that the low
mileage, rare specs, all that sort of stuff.
goes up first.
Also, I think it helps the fact that Aston
Martin are currently making some pretty cool cars.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Because a lot of the car companies that I
know that Lamborghini are still making cool
stuff, but Aston Martin, I thought,
they know their shit.
They know their shit currently with it.
And I think that-- But it's quite different
to that era.
Yeah.
That era.
Yeah.
But with
defined era of DB9 DBS, even the vanquish of
the similar shape is a very popular era now.
Yeah.
If they start doing not boring,
but like kind of soulless hybrids,
then I think then it's like,
right, what are the V12s then?
But now it's like, you can still buy a V12.
They still make a V12 car.
Yeah, true.
So it's not like that.
But it is-- Yeah, the vanquish.
The new one.
Oh, the vanquish is still.
But obviously, it's not manual and it's not--
And it's twin turbo as well.
Yeah.
Obviously, all of that.
So I think it will still go up.
But I think part of that does help that Aston
Martin is still a cool brand.
They have a switch to electrical hybrid or whatever.
It's DBS, do anything for you.
It's way more money.
Not in the same way.
I would love to have a DBS.
It's not my one of the week,
but I would love it.
I'd love to have a manual.
As in a gen two, like a 2000s.
Yeah, a James Bond.
I wouldn't even-- I don't care if it's James Bond's back.
There is a large part of me that cares about
the fact that it is a Bond car because it
feels like I'm James Bond.
But still, it's just the way that car looks.
Compared to a DB9, the difference is a DB9
still is all bad to me.
That's how I know I love-- same with the
first gen Vanquish.
I buy cars because I like to drive them.
I'm not there to sit and look at cars,
but I don't care how Vanquish are a DB.
drives.
And I know that vanquish is really bad,
but I just don't care.
They're just so cool.
I have heard that the difference between a
manual and an auto DB is huge.
Yeah, yeah.
They're like two different cars almost
because of-- Same with a vanquish.
Same with a vanquish.
I would love to do a TDC build on if a cheap
or crashed first gen vanquish came up,
doing a manual swap on one of those.
Vanquish is feel a bit under appreciated.
I looked the other day.
They're like, they're a cars for 30 to 35 bad ones.
Yeah.
And decent ones for 40 or 50.
What decent, you know what I mean?
Yeah.
Decent for me is different from a collector.
It feels like that's one of those prices that
people, like almost like DB5s or whatever.
When you look back, or you look at mirrors
and you look back at a price and go,
what the-- How was nobody buying all of those
at that point?
There is one on-- The tier is a bit.
I saw this.
This is, hey, this can be part of my one to the week.
Look at the bastard speck on that.
That is a first gen Aston Martin vanquish in,
it's not quite as light as almond green.
It's almost like the, from Die Another Day,
the color of the Jag, the Enter K.R.
on a vanquish.
That, I don't care how that drives.
That is one of the coolest looking things ever.
That's fantastic.
And that car is 49,000 pounds.
I know it's a lot of money, but compared to
what other cars from that era are now going
for, where they're going for two,
300,000 pounds, this was a comparable car back then.
I think it's such a cool looking car.
I love them.
A manual swap though, please.
1:15:00 Manual Vanquish Swap Project
Yeah.
Also, there's the, is it?
I look in column.
Yeah.
I just thought that was a bit extreme,
the sort of redesign that they did on it.
I looked it up as well.
I believe the manuals that you swap into it
is a, I think it's a Tremec.
I think it's a T-56, which is essentially my
Tuscan gearbox.
Okay.
Or like the Camara gearbox.
Big skids in the, it's just chuck it over in there.
I think it goes.
But I'd love to do that for the TDC.
A really rough one, I make it cool.
So V12, but DBS not, you're not aimed at it by them.
Well, I mean, I like it in the sense that
it's, it's Yeah, I get the, I just,
I really love the, I love the,
the London or old money vibe of them.
It's cool.
Of the DBS, of
all that stuff.
Have you, I love that.
Have you been in and
around a V12, like, like hearing it and
because I've never been, I've never been in one.
But like, I don't want to
read in person, but I've never like,
but maybe I think that's what you need.
Yeah.
You need that.
I'll try more.
You, where you hear it or you feel it or,
because I'll drive one.
That's what it nights the passion.
I'll let it happen.
Will.
for you, impossible.
Mine is an interesting one.
Land Rover.
There's something you have been doing.
Oh, wow.
This is ridiculous.
It is.
It's a Lamborghini Galardo.
Oh, is it, would it be like a 5.2,
like the one you have?
No, it is 5.2.
Oh, so exactly like a coupe.
What color?
I actually, I think care about that.
I'm going to guess you want an orange.
I'm not, orange is, I'm not liking on the,
any of the oranges, the, around chios.
Green I quite like, which is,
I think it is very difficult.
I, it's because black I quite like,
but it's a bit meh for a Lamborghini.
Why?
Because now the manual stuff has gone absolutely mad.
Now, I sold my car for a pretty penny,
which is the reason why I was able to get that much.
I'll go.
But since then, they are even more expensive.
I was as a guest at my old car,
could be worth almost 200 grand now,
which is insane.
Well over double wire paid for it,
back in.
of about four months.
In the space of a year, those cars have
trebled in value, in some cases.
But I see something happening and coming.
And I don't know if I'm right,
but it's just a little inkling in a thinkling.
And this car behind me has kind of made me
think of that as well, is that the manual thing.
Yeah, because obviously it's got this watch
forties, got the F1 or dual select,
they call it.
So the single clutch, robotized manual.
I think there might be people coming around
to liking those again.
Obviously, they were the popular thing.
Everyone wanted one.
No one wanted a manual.
Now there are no manuals.
Everyone wants a manual.
Now there are not many manuals for sale and
people are doing conversions.
But I think e-gear cars or F1 cars will
actually become very, very desirable.
Because they perfectly summarize that era of supercar.
Even like this, this isn't a supercar,
but it's a saloon car and they still use that gearbox.
And I just think a glado like that,
five litre with an e-gear, they're a fraction
of the price of a manual.
2, you could have it manual swapped and
you'll still be probably in for 75% of 50% of
the value of a manual car.
And you're not having to worry about the
value is being
affected ridiculously just by using it.
But I don't know.
I
mean, absolutely no position to be doing that at all.
The
most of I go is currently really,
really training me in the
big style.
Looking over, you won't be doing that.
Good idea,
but not at the moment.
I really like.
In this Quatch Porte maybe not because it's
meant to be all luxurious and smooth and that
sort of thing.
But I think in, you take that out of an event
store, everyone's it.
People always talk about theater in cars and
a single culture like an F1 gearbox,
it does that.
It has that mad knock in the
back of your head to go into the next year.
When we drove, things I didn't think I would
be saying two years ago, when we drove that
event at all on the top gear test track,
that was the thing I noticed.
It wasn't that loud.
It wasn't very loud, but every shift was into
it and that felt cool.
Even Ben Fauw's car.
Oh yeah, my car.
It's just cool.
It's just a shift.
'Cause we'd not long before that done the
Revuelto, I can't remember, or it was around
the same time.
No, it was a few weeks.
And I thought, it's way slower to change,
but it's just incredible the way it does it.
And the thing is, this isn't within my
thought with the e-gear stuff,
is if you look at an event store,
no one is crying out for an event store to be a manual.
No.
Because there wasn't a manual,
but because there were manual and there were
manual motion logos and they're all rarer.
That's why there's this kind of crazy about it.
There is definitely that fact that driving
the manual, I prefer it, especially in my
motion logo, I definitely prefer it as a manual.
It adds to the experience, it's just cooler to me.
But I think the e-gear stuff and the
automated manuals are being,
because everyone wants to convert an M5 now
to DCT and rather than SMG.
So I think it will, maybe we need to do a
video where we try back to back some manual
swapped or as in like a manual five down nine
and then also one and see what they're actually like.
I would be very interested.
Also, some people say that the converted cars
can be better because obviously like my
1:20:12 E-Gear vs Manual Gearboxes
manual, my manual, my shoe logo was built in
2002 or 2002.
So like that is, all the parts are old,
but the tech is also kind of old and things
have got better and people have figured out
how to do things more reliably or they make
them feel better or whatever.
So some of the conversions are better than that.
I bet linkages, better parts,
whatever else, better pizza.
Also, you're telling me that you can't say
that that isn't cool.
Having a manual gearbox, which a robot is
operating, that's sick.
Just explain it to somebody,
you're like, that sounds fantastic.
That's Dr.
Seuss.
Surely.
Or Seuss.
I tried so hard to say Seuss,
but that's like one of those little like
gloved white hands come out and press the
clutch pedal and then it changes gear for you.
That's cool.
I think some people are picking up on it
because Glaado is
quite rare, especially five-year-olds and
there aren't that
many and lots of them are shitters.
But I just think I just
finding one in a cool color and having it and
either converting it to manual or just having
it as an e-gear car is a cool idea.
But I'm somewhere off on that.
Also, I just love the idea of having both of those.
Having a much longer and a Glaado pulling up
all Blake Samba, like in this,
Blake Samberg.
That is true.
Shout out Blake Samberg.
He's both manuals.
He still hasn't come here in beans yet,
though.
We'll work on that.
One day, we'll be working on that.
Maybe next time we see Blake Samberg,
he'll
be hearing beans.
Right, how about that flight over?
That's your one of the weeks?
And then there's still that underlying focus
RS Mark 1.
I was very sad that someone sent me.
I got sent the 11 grand one and it was gone already.
I think Ash, the Renault Breaker,
a bunch of people sent it, basically.
It's also on eBay.
I think it might be ending today or round about now.
It sold at 10 grand, and then it reappeared.
Do you know what we need to do?
We need to buy a Mark 1 RS for the channel.
Yeah.
We just buy a Mark 1 RS, restore it up the
channel, and then you and I have to fight it
to the death to see who wins.
Yeah, I could do that.
And it will be to the death.
I'd use a hidden blade.
For me, I've been doing this daily search
because there's this old Colonel Garrogers
over here has got so many different things
that I'm not allowed to buy for my daily on
the on the list.
I keep seeing things going, and then going,
I'm not allowed to buy that.
But things that I keep saying that I want.
And X300, XJR, EV8, EV8, one,
two, three aluminium.
I would love an aluminium one,
but they're too expensive for that.
But I like the idea of one of those sort of fateing.
I'm not a faitant.
Faitant is.
Then you'd have to, if I'm not hearing this
happening, and a faitant starts getting
talked about, you have to inject.
The faitant's cool, aren't they?
Yes.
I can see it in my mind.
In six months' time, maybe even sooner,
there's going to be a faitant on its arse outside.
And I'm going to get a text message that
says, "Can I have a lift tomorrow?"
1:23:19 Desiring an E55 Engine Car
The faitant won't move.
But more than any of that, I'll give you one
guess, but there is a car that has recently
re-entered my mind that I just so very want to own.
I'm
just saying, I so very want my own E55 engine.
That car,
as horrible as it is, I love it with all my heart.
Do you
want one like that though?
Or just slightly better than that?
It's like just some intakes in a smaller pulley.
Yeah, that is an E55 AMG I'm talking about,
by the way.
Small act, Edwin, I could tell Edwin loves that car.
Well, we all know he does, but it was earlier
when we moved it out of the unit.
We had finding parts in the unit,
which are heavy to move the car.
They're like little parts, and we go,
"Can I pull the car around?
I'll just like pull it around."
And then, he would get, I can the car to put
it back in the car park, and you could just
see in his eyes, like, "I wanna just like,
just floor this now."
Oh man, it's such a cool thing.
I know it's-- I don't know what I'm saying
about it, but it's just one of the smart--
when you see a nice saloon, it's one of the
smartest looking, it's cool.
I just love them.
I genuinely love that.
I think it might be one of my favorite cars on Earth.
A man offered it to TDC, not to me.
Well, he's kind of offered it to me,
but I said, "I'm not interested.
I want to see "never see any fire over again."
But it was really cool.
It was silver, but it had lots of options.
And I wish I remembered the man's name.
was, perhaps, as well as Italian.
We accidentally told 12K Retro.
Stan Brackett's The Blood Man about this and
he went, "I know that car.
I want to message him."
And he messaged me and went,
"Hey, the guy said, "How do you know this is for Sarah?"
Oh, sorry.
You told a man you watch on YouTube that you
were selling it at a show that you visited.
He has communicated this to me and found the ad.
But it had the panoramic roof with the solar
panels and panels really, which I had no idea
that was a thing.
But yeah, I just lost me a picture of it and
it was on a trailer on its ass.
We don't need that.
That's, that's not good.
But yeah, I would, I've, I've,
we've said since last week, but I'm working
through the cars I have.
Okay.
There's no, there's no, there'll be a
sensible dish daily soon.
And then we've got to work through some cars,
sell some cars, and then an E-55.
E-55 my future for short.
I don't care if it's a wagon or not.
So you would have a saloon.
I'd have a saloon to care about.
I'd prefer not silver because I had the C-55 and silver.
Is there still that one for sale?
The purpley one.
It's been for sale.
There is a blue one that I quite like right
now, but hey, I'm not allowed.
It was in a Tesco's car park or something.
It was like a Designo mad span.
Really nice Designo.
All the options and everything.
And it was like 15 grand.
I just came across it recently.
It was like now it's 25 grand.
It is mad.
The amount of people I see that do that,
I see with the Range Rover classics all the
time, still something I'm looking for.
There's a guy who has a blue/black car,
but he's been doing the welding too while
it's listed for sale.
And the price keeps going up.
But it didn't sell before.
And now he's put some welding where he's
like, well, now it's 15.
That's prime, isn't it?
Well, I've welded it.
No one bought it at 10.
What's going on here?
That's his way of dealing with it.
It's for sale.
Same to your wife.
I've got it listed.
I'm doing all of this work because the car,
it will increase the value of the car.
It puts the value of the car up,
still doesn't sell.
Perfect.
Well, can I do about that?
Perfect.
I've had this car 25 years.
So if anybody knows of an E55M G itself,
and I'm not talking about finding listings
online, I'm talking about if you have one in
a lock up somewhere.
I'm off-market example.
We're looking for off-market E55M.
We wanted posts like those supercars,
people were like, we are looking for Ferrari 599 manuals.
E55M G.
I'm looking for Ferrari 550 brackets crashed,
Range Rover Classic brackets black and cheap.
You've probably crashed cheap.
So thank you very much for listening to this
episode of the podcast.
We will join you next week.
Actually, you'll join us.
Thank you very much.
Next week, episode 100 of the Cream Podcast.
We'll have another guest.
It might go either before or after 100,
but you'll see.
You'll join us.
They'll be some
good stories.
See you then.
Shout out the Creamers, as
always.
Bye bye.
