0:00 Edwin's New Alfa Romeo

I've been keeping a secret.

I talked previously about wanting an Alpha Jr.

$30 million, and everyone outside was

clapping in like everyone was really shocked.

Last year, you did the hill climb in the microcar.

What would we do this year?

Well, the microcar is dead.

Hello, and welcome back to the 97th Cars Rule

Everything Around Me podcast with myself,

Edwin.

William to my left, Benjamin to the air.

Hello, and we're back in the UK.

We're back on home soil.

No more Monterey for us, only soiled pants for Ben.

Yeah, full of it.

Oh, no.

So before we start the podcast,

as always, we answer the question,

"Do cars rule or ruin everything around us this week?"

Well, oh, yeah, yeah.

I'll fill it with food a little bit,

a little bit gleeful today.

Yeah, but it will not.

What happened this weekend?

Well, this weekend, just past was food and

fuel at Shelby Wells Hill.

Shelby Wells.

Shelby Wells Hill Clio Money Penny.

And it's a great event.

We were there.

And there's a key part of this event that

makes it so great, and there are cars moving.

Cars going up hills, there's excitement,

we get to drive stuff up, but not on this day.

Well, I did.

Ben, you went up a few times.

I think there was 120 other people that went up.

There was only one that kind of didn't.

I went up once in the passenger seat of the ML.

We'll get to that.

The, what do you call it?

The Thingy Magic at the event the day before.

Oh, good.

Yeah, it went on the trailer with the rest of the cars.

All good.

I did warn them.

I warned Jamie who's doing some of the transports.

I said, look, it might not start,

but it started fine.

I took it to transport, drove it in an hour

or so, to where it needed to be.

No issues at all.

Started fine, get to move it a couple of

times, started no problem.

Morning of the event came.

We have to be there early, obviously.

The car had been sat for a bit,

so I thought, I'll try and get some residual

temperature in it.

So if I have one, I have to get it up to temperature.

Easy.

Let it run for five, 10 minutes.

All good, no problem.

It came around.

So I think it was like half an hour,

40 minutes before our run was about to go.

So I thought, let me get this up to 10.

Nothing.

Just nothing at all.

No stuff.

And there were enough people there at that

point where I couldn't hear anything.

And what I couldn't hear is the fact that the

starter motor wasn't even clicking at all.

There was nothing at all.

Also, as always, everyone tries to be

helpful, but in trying to be helpful is

incredibly unhelpful by going,

have you tried this?

Yeah.

Have you checked?

He's a battery on.

Have you done this?

Did he jump?

No, I didn't.

Trust.

I knew that that car was a starter motor.

That was wrong.

Anyone said, I want it.

You bump start it.

There were five and a half thousand people there.

Well, we did bump start that car.

So that car does now run.

And annoyingly, it then started perfectly after car.

I can't believe it.

So the way the sort of pits are there,

just in front of where the sort of start line

is, but it's not exactly quite tight.

And once people pack in there,

which is, it gets very, very busy because

everyone's watching the cars go up.

So doing a bump start, would have meant

wiping out a lot of people.

Oh, you couldn't have done it.

Yeah, we would have had to clear a lot of

space, delayed a lot of people.

And it made it off work.

Who knows?

Yeah.

So yeah, didn't work on the day.

I was so unbelievably, unbelievably disappointed.

Because even last year, again,

was, I think it was the galore,

I just bought the galore, though.

And it turned out it was broken.

So it wasn't ready.

So it couldn't go.

And it would have sounded unbelievable going

up the hill.

So I was like, fine, I'll make it to next year.

Next year, even better, I've never seen a lot

of good to take up, but that won't work.

So I'm mad pissed off.

a 2027 year of the hill fire.

It does mean though.

And I picked that car up from Stuart at SBR

on the Thursday.

And because he tried to sort some bits and

was like, look, this car is going to be that car.

It's going to fight your everything.

That engine needs to come out tough.

So I've been in the process of trying to find

bits and parts and stuff to sort of reduce that cost.

I've been contacting suppliers of sensors

saying like, you must have this sensor.

Because there are so many things on those

cars that are like so mad expensive.

There's a misfire sensor that's on each bank.

And they're about 900 pounds each.

What?

But there has to be a cheaper way of doing that.

So I've been contacting people who make them,

but like, do you have an equivalent?

Is there a newer version of that?

Yeah, no one's done it for some of these parts.

Some of them they have, some of them they haven't.

So I'll try to find as many of those bits as

I can, so that when the engine does come out,

which might be end of September at this rate,

you're going to become the mogul.

You're going to be the person that that did

all the legwork for everyone.

Well, to some people have done it,

but I have no, it go out a lot more.

I don't know if it's because they got

cheaper, but there aren't that many people,

there aren't that many like,

there's no extensive list of like,

here's what this happens.

There will be some people that say you

shouldn't do that, but there are some,

but they are exactly the same.

It's the same part.

Stuff like obviously an engine block,

you're not, that you're not going to get.

And some of the Lamborghini bits you aren't

going to get, but sensors, and I just got O2

sensors for it.

O2 sensors from Lamborghini are biblically expensive.

It's a Bosch part.

It's a Bosch part using a Mark II or a Mark

III Golf, I think it is.

Amazing.

So, and they're all four exactly the same.

So I've got four of those at a fraction of the price.

So there's lots of little bits like that,

where, why pay the, like, actual thousands of pounds?

Yeah, when you could, same as the,

there's the crank sensor I need.

That's a 500 pound, 500 pound,

not four, as I've found out.

500 pound sensor, Magneti and Morelli are the

ones who make it.

It's about 40 pounds.

Yeah, it's mad.

So that, that's what I'm now trying to do.

That engine has to come out.

I'm very upset.

My plan is, most of all, I go now sort of go away.

So the bigger bits done and then I'm hoping

the M3 will tide me over as a fun thing to,

to deal with and also the Mégane as well.

And then that will come back bigger and better.

Also, if you're doing lots of research,

like what Will's doing for parts,

if you're doing that for a car,

we have this week sponsor Car Vertical.

Shout out to them.

If you're looking to buy a car and you want

to uncover the secrets that let's say a dodgy

seller, or maybe just an absent minded,

minded seller that doesn't know that much

about that car, you can find that sort of

information out with Carver.

Yeah, I've been needed to buy a new car for

my girlfriend.

She wanted something that's a bit bigger,

more practical.

So I've been looking at that.

And again, it's been a while

6:16 Car Vertical Discount Codes

since I've been able to buy a normal car.

And going into

that minefield, like what we did with Ben's Golf GTD.

So

there's a lot of crud out there,

but just sifting through

the crap stuff, using Carver to be a good

member of the car.

So when you go and view a car,

it'll even tell you about insurance assessments.

So not just if a car's been written off,

if a car's had a bump, someone's had it

assessed, but then maybe not repaired,

or they've had it repaired elsewhere.

Carver's car will tell you about that.

So it means when you go and view the car,

and you can see it had an assessment at the

rear, you can then check if that's been

repaired properly, speak to the owner,

see if they know anything about it.

But if you are going to be buying multiple

cars this year, you can actually get a much

bigger discount.

So our usual discount is cream.

10% off your next check.

But again, if you're going to be buying

multiple cars or you and your friends are

buying multiple cars, you can actually bundle

those checks together, buying them all at

once and get up to 50% off the car vertical.

It's the tool to have when you're going to

buy a car.

And shout out to the creamers,

just in general, as always, shout out to the creamers.

But also, shout out to the creamers that have

been using the code and supporting us.

Yeah.

Carver has told us that a load of you are using it.

Shout out to you.

Thank you for supporting us.

Ben, for me, it's going to be a rule.

It's going to be a rule.

Oh, yeah.

There's a little bit of an era of ruin

creeping in, but I'm going for a rule,

because I took the yellow Clio up the hill.

It was great.

Now, really good.

We have to admit.

Yeah.

You didn't want to do it.

No, I didn't want to do it.

I was very nervous to do it.

The manipulator returns.

No, it was almost solid that you weren't doing it.

No, I'm not doing it.

I'm not taking the Clio.

No, I said, well, I'll put the car with me.

I said to you, I was bringing it to you.

You said beforehand, I'm not doing it in the Clio.

No, I didn't say that.

No, I didn't say that.

I said to you that I didn't say that.

This is mental.

Oh my Lord.

I said, I didn't really want to do it because

I was worried about having to perform for a people.

And I was worried about that for the whole club,

exactly.

I was worried about doing that initial like

clutch dump burnout type of things.

God, if I had done that and it wouldn't burn

the clutch out or stall it, I would never

live it down.

We had to let you know that it's not 100% necessary.

You don't have to do an E55 spec burnout to

sort of wow.

Of course.

But please, the old crowd.

You don't really need to.

The run is kind of enough.

Yeah.

I have beans.

You have beans.

I give us some big beans.

Oh, yeah?

You're probably actually in front of me,

you didn't see.

No, I heard it coming.

I didn't see anything.

And the car was great too.

It did sound great.

It did sound very, very good.

She wouldn't have known.

Well, at the top of the hill.

But basically when you get to the top of the

hill, there's one way up, one way down.

So you have to wait forever on to get the top

and you'll go down and convoy.

Ben, I have been in the distance going,

I did look around the corner at one point and

see nearly fishtail.

Well, not fishtail, understeer into a

barrier, which was interesting.

Yeah, I think there's a clip of that

somewhere, but I did three runs in the day.

My last run, it gets, so I think I don't know

the exact specs, but something like the most

narrow part is that last quarter of Chelsea

Walsh, and then there's a massive straight to the end.

And it's like 12 feet wide.

12 meters wide.

12 meters.

12 feet?

I've got to spend, I didn't walk around

asking them how wide the track is.

No, someone told me, anyway.

So turn three, what we saying,

12 and a half, okay.

The last corner is quite thin for a hill

climb for a racetrack.

So I went into that corner quite quickly,

and I did get with the understeer,

and I did see, and there's no run off.

It is literally just a wall.

And I did just very briefly think,

uh oh, off I go, and I have to catch it.

But for a sec, I thought this could be it for me.

I did worry, well, I didn't get to go up,

but I did worry about my rungs.

I thought the car was sat there all night,

and I'm just going to send it up the hill climb.

And it was kind of damp in the morning as well.

So there was possibility that they could have

just been straight up understeer.

There's no time to like, this time to warm a

rear tire, but not a front.

I'll tell you that.

Yeah, that was a factor.

I'll tell you that for free.

It was quite, also, we got told that

apparently they resurfaced it as well.

So it was slippy up in last year anyway.

But yeah, it was.

It was good for you.

Now, Ben, last year, you did the hill climb

in the microcar.

Yep.

And you had the slowest time.

Yep.

What would we do this year?

Because there was an issue.

Well, the microcar is dead.

Now, we shouldn't say forever,

but for the event, we could not get it started.

It's in a coma.

Yeah.

The microcar, and we're actually genuinely

quite, when I think about this,

I get a bit rageful in my stomach.

Yeah.

Because people keep treating the microcar

like a joke.

Then it's not like a toss.

It's not.

Just because it's small does not mean it's

something that you can just beat up.

It's bullying.

Our store also acts.

It's, people, it's been, one of the

headlights of the mountain has been broken

off, it's smashed in.

Both the front and rear bumper's cracked.

Yeah, it's almost reversed.

The boot doesn't shut now.

There are various different bits of things

that have happened to this car.

It felt like we've, we've let someone else

look after our dog and they've been in the shower.

Yeah, it's not okay.

I can't remember.

I don't know if it's related,

but when that won't start and we think it's,

it's blown for users and there's something

wrong with it.

So we did try.

It is looking in these properties.

Like we went and bought a battery from it.

I tried a load of different fuses.

I tried tracing down the electrical issue,

but we couldn't before the start of it.

So I had a bright idea.

We would just put it on the trailer and tow

it out because look, the micro car went up the hill.

I need to look into it any more than that.

We did.

Mr.

Ben Rogers behind the wheel.

Shout out Mr.

Cutup for making stickers for the back of it

that says the event.

That was good.

And we towed up the hill with the ML.

It was good.

I was in the back.

And you know what, I first I was a bit scared

because I was worried that like the

fiberglass chassis of that car would just

give way and I just fall off more strapped

into this car.

It was actually fine going up,

but we were filming it on a GoPro for like a

second channel video for Alex.

I got to the top.

I was like, "Oh, I'm done."

That's fine.

And I remember that it's one way up one way

down, but to come back down on it.

And that was far worse.

Yeah.

That was far worse.

Yeah, 'cause you're then got a gravity against you.

You're looking down, you can see everyone,

you can see how steep it is.

And you're just strapped at the back of a car

in this Tupperware container.

So...

So again, next year?

Cool.

Next year, we said, we weren't for shadow it,

but I'm thinking on could be back next year.

Yeah.

And so will I'll get on tomorrow.

So you're overall your rule.

Well, there's more to it.

Okay, please.

Here I am.

Then there's an overall rule.

I'll give myself a rule.

There's a little reason to ruin,

because the clear after-shells do is--

Well, Car needs fuel or something.

No, I put a few on it last night.

Oh, he needs to put air in the tires.

Nope.

After-shells do is, it just feels weird,

which is odd, because there's no reason why

it should feel any different.

I heard this this morning, and it felt like

there's nothing.

It felt exactly like the description of the

1.8.2 after the track day.

Something's happened to it.

I can't tell you what--

Something is wrong.

Well, the 1.8.2 after the track day is

alignment was completely out,

and also the gearbox was about to blow up,

so yeah, there was things wrong about it.

But you, that's what you said this morning.

I only did three runs though,

so I don't know, I didn't really hit any

clubs, so I don't, it wouldn't really hit alignment out.

I know after a track that you can,

but the alignment feels weird,

and--

I think you are a master.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

I think you're a master on Facebook.

Let me explain them first.

It's not, because on the way that,

that car feels really tight,

this was really good, but then the--

Should be doing that.

When you steer, there's not much dead zone,

but there is now this weird dead zone.

Whenever I break now quite hard,

it seems to pull left or right,

but almost like it's tram line.

He's turning left, wouldn't you?

No, it's not like a break binding thing.

It feels almost like a tram line's a little bit.

And then I was driving, that was,

so I drove, I did quite a lot of driving yesterday.

So I did a lot more driving,

it feels not very stable.

And then I, and it's quite a big dead zone in

the wheel, which is the two things that I noticed.

And then the way to work this morning,

it's now just throwing up ESP lights and stuff.

It is definitely a happy, but I don't know

what's wrong with that.

I don't know what happened to me.

It's people probably a sensor,

I'm assuming, off the horizon.

Yeah, but it does feel weird that it's

suddenly having this weird steering issue,

and now also it hasn't.

You don't want that over anything?

No, that's why, because that's the thing is

that I didn't, like, wait two on the track day.

How many beams did you give it on your burnout?

Quite a lot.

Mm-hmm.

Does that car?

You got broken axle, but...

Maybe.

No.

But I was, I checked the driveshaft stuff.

Here's what you do, leave it for a few days,

give it another drive, give it what it says.

Yeah, don't know.

So, so yeah, anyway, but I have got a shift though.

You done it.

Yeah, sorry, there's so many things.

So, so we actually should update because the

bet was that Ben wouldn't buy two mods.

Yeah.

So one mod is now

14:38 Bet on Ben's Car Modifications

purchased for this bet.

Yeah.

Which means you only have to buy one more mod

and you get some money back,

but you have to purchase this other thing,

which I, you don't remember the bet?

I remember the bet.

I do not know the consequences.

I'm in the same situation.

I know the consequences.

The consequence was that you pay for one of the...

Me?

Yes, that was you, and what?

Yeah, I don't remember that.

Yeah, you may find out.

You would pay, you's okay.

So what the bet is for memory,

the cream is all correct me,

and you proposed this as well,

which is the best part, is that you would buy

Ben the cost of that first mod up to,

sorry, up to the cost of what the shifter was.

How much, hang on, hey.

The shifter, what do you want?

That's shift, go on, tell me how much that was.

The shifter was 880 pounds.

We found you one

for 700 quid.

Yeah, this one's basically brand new though.

Hold on, hold on, hold on.

As you want, it was like a 50.

Yeah, I know, yeah.

Yeah, that's what I was about to say,

He's a Roman in the postage,

is he?

When we were asking about the 850s,

he said, it was 800.

And then it was 850 and now it's an 850.

No, it was 850.

It was always 850

and I paid, yeah, also, 'cause I said,

'cause Callum the guy that I bought off of,

lovely guy.

He's a great guy.

I've never met him, so I just paid him through PayPal.

I paid him, not friends, family,

goods and services.

So you pay another percentage just in case.

Very bad.

Well, I don't trust people, but at the same

time, it is also, sorry, just because 850

quid is pennies to you, Mr.

Lamborghini.

Oh, true, true.

Thank you very much.

So, I don't remember, I don't,

why would I make such a bet?

That was against my will, surely.

Oh, I'll be honest, I remember at the time

thinking, that's quite a lot.

Right, so we will double check,

but the creamers will also know,

they are the judge,

Judy.

Judy and executioner.

So yeah, I'd like to know that,

'cause that could be a very expensive day out for me.

I'm going to do a make it a swap.

No, but up to the first one.

Up to the first one.

Up to the first one.

So I'm going to, I'm going to check.

God, I don't know what I want from you.

No.

You could just buy lunch for a bit.

It's just money.

Oh, it's just money.

So, Ben, you bought by a mod.

So, Ben, in a very round about way,

what is it, Rule or Ruin?

So for me, I'm going to, 'cause Shell's wish

was so good, it's going to be a rule,

but there are ruins in the horizon.

See, mine's the other way around.

It was a ruin that turned into a rule,

'cause we were trying to get the E55MG done

for Chelsea World.

Famously, at the last Chelsea World,

E55 did a big old burnout the whole way up,

and we thought, we'll bring it back better

than ever this time with an LSD.

But there were some parts that did not arrive

in time, so unfortunately, we were there

until late on Friday night, trying to get it

done, didn't work.

So, I had the car from the TVR instead,

and hey, man, that's a car, that's a great

car for doing skids and burnouts.

Can I say something?

I was actually quite pleased that it didn't

get down in time.

Why?

Because we're doing two episodes in that car,

we would have to basically done the first

episode where we get it working again,

put the LSD in it, that sort of thing.

Then take a Chelsea Walsh, and then come

back, and then you blow the axle off it

again, and then the next episode,

when it's starting in this week,

is cyclical.

Yeah, it's super charged, so I was quite

happy that you didn't get the opportunity to

blow it up half of the series.

Hey Ben, what do you think we're gonna do at

the end of the first episode?

No, but you can't, no, because we need,

oh God.

But so, yeah, it was a rule,

'cause we got, met a load of you,

met a load of creamers, shout out the

creamers that we met at Chelsea Walsh,

hope to see more of you there next time.

I think the next one is October,

Best stuff.

Oh, 'til the 10th.

Very nice, mate.

Don't you?

No, it is, I know for a fact it is.

So, shout out to you guys, we'll see you then.

I'm gonna talk about it, I've been keeping a secret.

You guys know about it, but we've now made a decision.

Oh, okay.

But this was another car.

Well, it is.

Okay.

What is it?

Well, it's the, it's.

It's a little guy.

It's a little guy.

Oh, yeah.

What car am I bought recently?

Well, I don't wanna say, so you have to say.

Yeah, it's the one you're thinking of.

Oh, it is the one I'm thinking.

Because we're not, we're potentially not

doing the, we were saving it.

Okay, yeah.

We do a bigger series, but I have bought a

car from a creamer.

Wowzers.

Is that a first?

That has to be a first.

No.

Well, I've kind of bought the Clio.

Yeah.

From the F shoes, kind of a creamer.

And also, yeah.

And also John.

Well, he is a creamer.

John is also a creamer.

But like, these are professionals.

These are professional creams.

These are professionals in their trade,

thus, this is a fully random creamer.

This was an amateur creamer.

Yeah.

But I bought, no, I talked previously about

wanting an Alpha Junior or an Alpha GT Coupe.

There's lots of different names.

An Alpha 105 is kind of what they're mostly,

we've known as.

And a creamer got in contact with a very cool story.

He said, I have an Alpha 105.

Unfortunately, last year, my dad passed away.

We've worked on it together.

It's rough and needs a lot of work,

but it's kind of a running and driving car.

And I need to sell it 'cause I can't do

anything more with this.

I've got life priorities.

I would like to see it go to someone like you

guys on the channel.

And so I wasn't in the position to buy a car,

but I made, I sold some stuff and made some

space and I was like, right,

let me come have a look at this.

I really like the story, so bought it.

So it should be a rule for that reason.

I drove at home and I was like,

cool, made 100 miles home.

It was ropey, it was very loose,

it was very slow.

But I was like, this is fantastic.

I don't think I've bought a car in the last

five years, like other than T.R.

but that I felt instantly as like,

oh, I love this.

This is really good 'cause that is a

childhood dream car of mine.

And got it home and thought,

cool, perfect.

And then I thought, let me go take it to my

dad 'cause my dad is obsessed with Alfa

Romeo's, that's his whole thing.

I drove it to my dad's house.

It was like another 60 miles,

so done about 150 miles that day.

More than it had done it,

I think, three years.

I was already kind of treading the line.

And then about 45 seconds from the unit here,

I put the clutch in and there was no clutch.

And then there was

20:23 Edwin Buys an Alfa Romeo Junior

no clutch anymore.

And it already had a very grindy gearbox.

So yeah, the gearbox went on the car.

That's the spare.

So in the meantime, in the background,

because we were potentially going to do a two

car series, I was trying to get the gearbox

back up and going so we could just move it.

But for now, you will see a video probably

coming weeks, maybe a month or so,

of this little alpha GT

Junior.

And we're doing some very cool stuff with Bob

the Machine Shop, including a welding disc

and a cutting disc.

That's all I'll tell you.

So that's very good.

But I'm excited.

I love this little thing.

I should put a far put photo.

It's such a good, yeah.

And, well, I'll say some stuff for the episode.

But we have to know, cool.

It's very cool.

Here it is.

The only photo I have of it is after I

rescued it on the trailer, because the

gearbox did not work anymore.

But I just, oh man, I love it.

Also, there were lots of these in Monterey.

So many.

And we are walking into car shows.

And after like the fourth day of walking to

car show, and to me, they all just look like

how opportunious to me.

I think it's a beautiful car,

but like, when you've seen one,

you've seen them all type of thing.

Didn't it?

Do you know how many photos I took of

different Alfa Juniors?

I took photos of it.

I don't know that.

64 different cars I took photos of.

And shout out to Louis, the creamer,

who sold me the car.

It is in goodish hands, like smoothish.

It's in hands.

It's in hands.

They might slip through, but it's in hands.

It's in your rough hands.

And it's not going anywhere for the

foreseeable, 'cause I really,

really love it.

And it might not look like that for much longer.

Hey, that's all I'll say.

So there is another YouTube channel that has

a little affiliate.

We're going to get a suggestion to a similar

sort of Alfa.

We won't say too much, but we have,

Ben knows nothing.

You do.

Ben will know this, though, that next week,

where are we now?

We're Monday, this is coming up Thursday,

Oh yeah.

But the beginning of next week,

we're filming a very, very cool extra little

podcast for you with some very,

very lovely guests.

That hopefully should be very cool.

Your biggest guest yet.

It'll be a big journey.

Ben wasn't going for that, but it's nice.

It'll be a big journey.

It'll be a large trip.

Yeah.

Yeah.

There we go.

There we go.

There we go.

These are the thinker, but yeah,

that will be, we haven't done it yet,

so we don't know.

A Royal Voyage.

Yeah, sure one.

Can we get one from you?

A massive drive.

That was worth the mind, surely.

A sizeable stride.

That's good.

Fantastic.

So we will be doing, you can all figure it

out, but basically we're gonna do that next

week, so I'm hoping that will be perhaps for

Tuesday the eighth, I think.

It's gonna be a grand that one.

And you will have also seen,

by this time, our very small podcast with the C.R.E.A.

of Lamborghini.

We're racking up quite a...

Do you know what that is?

That's 2% is what that is.

It's not really cream though,

is it?

It's not sea.

Yeah.

Car's milk, it's cut, yeah, that's milk.

Yeah, that's what that is.

I also realized it might be the only podcast

we have where we haven't asked if something

rules or ruins everything around them.

But we didn't, we did realize,

well, one, we didn't have a lot of time.

And we realized that it may confuse someone

who has no idea who we are.

We didn't have time to explain it to him.

Yeah.

If you, whenever you see it,

just know that when the camera rolls was

perhaps 15 seconds after he sat down in the seat.

Yeah, yeah.

We had to go on that.

He sat down and said to Ben,

"How much of me is in the shot?"

Ben said, "How much of me is in the shot?"

He was very classically media trained.

He asked me, "How much of my body is in the shot?"

And I've never been asked that before.

And I didn't know what the answer,

the correct answer was.

I just went, "All of it?"

And he looked quite, he was like,

"Okay, fine, I agree."

He adjusted, he adjusted his trousers.

I think it was, so he did like he had his

trousers up, not his ankle, I don't know.

He's also, he seemed very dapper,

so I don't know.

Oh, he was fantastic.

He was as fresh as hell.

Yeah, yeah.

As a clean man.

As a custom suit.

But we're on a generational debt,

generational debt, sorry.

Yeah, we are.

Of fantastic guests, so we need to keep that

up, but yeah, that should be a really cool one.

It'll be a slightly different setting,

it's normal, but yeah.

Shout out to the fountain going off in the background.

And to the few people who tried to walk into

the camera and the Lamborghini people nearly

tackled to the ground.

There are, yeah, yeah, yeah.

'Cause also probably millionaires,

who are like, "I don't care about this."

And they went recording the cream podcast.

I do not know who these guys are.

There's 15 minutes of gold going on here.

A man pulled up in an SVJ to get on the

shuttle bus to the house and then got on the

bus and sort of shouted everyone,

"What's up, my Lamborghini family?"

(laughs)

My name, Carper, whatever his name was,

and everyone else went, "Yeah."

Yeah, we sort of like, this is not,

English people don't do this.

Will went, "Yo, I'm Will."

Yeah, amen.

Also, we're not, well, I guess Will is part

of the family.

Should we do a very quick roundup of post

podcast final Montereyings?

Yes, of course, we recorded that podcast that

basically that afternoon evening,

so then we had the evening and then the

following day of travel, so we had things happen.

On that podcast, we were like,

hyped up how we're gonna go to arms of the

beast, and we're gonna go, what,

yeah, one, get auction, we were all very excited.

We cut the cameras and then realized that we

were late, very late.

We were very late.

We walked into the auction room,

bearing in mind we were like,

pulling across town from a park.

We blagged away into the car park,

which they told us we couldn't do.

Yeah, that was fantastic.

Again, I loved it.

And we managed, we ran into the auction room

and we literally walked in the second that it started.

As the car rolled off onto the car.

Yeah, so we were panicking.

So, it's a recap.

The McLaren, we were wrong, went under our

estimate, 31 and a half then.

I think you were the closest,

you were the lowest.

The lowest of 37 or something?

Yeah, I think you went 41 and a half.

I did the highest.

With fees I was on about.

Oh true, of course.

But it turns out, the F1 wasn't the big hitter.

No.

As you all now know, the Lucha was the one.

Now, we've done, Ben, you've done some

digging into company's house,

you found them, you found them.

He's American so nothing.

I don't know if any of you actually saw this,

I only just remembered this.

He was in our YouTube video.

What?

He's in the background of our YouTube video.

Easy.

So, someone said, what's the guy who bought the Lucha?

Yeah.

So, when we're at the Quail,

you and I are talking, I'm not actually,

I can't remember exactly, it might be when we

introduce you, someone will know.

The man in the red.

There's a man in bright red trails and a

bright red hat.

Really?

He's looking around the way.

Or a brighter blazer, I can't remember which way around.

There's a chance I got a shot of him.

I was getting asthic shots.

We like to do walking.

If you see a dude dressed walking

interestingly or dressed interestingly,

I'll let's get a little solo shot of them walking past.

But he's just in the background and I saw one

comment that said, that's the guy on the Lucha.

So there he is.

That was immortalized.

The day before he bid there,

right?

Hey, he might have multiple red outfits.

No, can we have everywhere?

Everyone knows who he is and he's a very

charitable man who's learned.

So it was a charity, a lot that one.

So it was a charity auction and he is worth

around about $5 billion from what we understand.

But no interest in cars?

It supposedly doesn't have a particular interest.

He just likes giving money away.

We were told they don't like funky ways or what sort.

We were told with the RM people that he

wasn't interested in the actual Lucha.

I think he, I'm sure there was a part of him

and he's like, I want to make a name for myself.

But he just wants to give it a charity.

Also the man that won the $27 million SP3

last year, same event, same RM.

For a guy who doesn't like cars,

he's getting quite the collection together.

Exactly, yeah.

And we also end the auction and then there

was a load of different cars that we weren't

that interested in before the ones that we

really wanted to see, all the Lamborghinis,

the Ferrari's, we said, right,

let's leave, go get some dinner,

come back and watch a later on.

We bump into Blake Sandberg on the way out.

Boys, let's go for Chinese.

We're just food.

And we happened across the exact same Chinese place.

We went to him last year, so it felt like it

had to happen.

So we went for Chinese, we had that and then

towards the end of

28:12 Monterey Auction Highlights

the Chinese, we're about to pay and Blake

said, oh, the loot chain lot is coming up.

I want to leave and go and film that with my stuff.

We said, yeah, cool, we'll catch you up.

So we're all walking back down the street and

as you approach the hotel, it's the auction

is being broadcast on the big screen and you

can hear the speakers.

And I just look around and see Will's face

looking shocked.

I'm like, what's that?

And all we hear is, sorry, $30 million.

And everyone outside was like clapping in

like everyone was really shocked.

So that's how we found out.

But Blake was in there.

I know it's a loot chain, but I will still

never forget that we were there.

Yeah, for that moment to happen.

It did feel like a problem.

But I just vividly were like walking down

because I could hear something going off,

but I wasn't hearing the numbers.

Yeah.

And then I just remember hearing $32 million

ladies and gentlemen.

I was like, what?

And I didn't clock the loot chain.

I thought, what's what's selling for that?

I thought, is it some old American thing?

I don't know.

And I just clocked the screen as we were

walking up and saw that it was still the loot chain.

So baffling.

Yeah, we were we were ever it was quite a job.

I must feel good.

It's electric.

I mean, considering it's like a car auction,

very good bed for like just a car auction.

It was like, not like football stadium.

But it was just everyone because they have

the people in the room.

You have media, the people bidding,

whatever else you have, those people in the room.

And then there are more people in the sort of

rooms outside.

I could have watched that all evening.

I could sit there

all evening.

I could watch interesting cars.

Yeah.

When the

Düsenberg 9000 pops up.

Yeah, of course.

Yeah.

But even

though it goes for big money,

I'm less interested.

We sell that for a good hour and a half with

Blake just watching it.

And also we showed Blake eggy soldiers.

Yeah.

So we have an idea to see if we can bring

Blake Sandberg over to the UK and show him

England because he's gobsmacked by us in general.

He thinks we all eat beans and we live in straw huts.

And so he said, this is what you for

breakfast and showed him eggy soldiers.

Again, another thing you would have seen if

you followed the cars rule everything around

Instagram page.

I don't.

Yeah.

Well, you can't.

No.

The blocked.

We're not blocked.

You'll see it on the archive if you want to

go back through show to make you soldiers mid.

auction.

And he said, all right, I want to watch the auction now.

Please be.

Also found it very amusing that we call.

He's like, what do you guys call sprinkles?

And we call them hundreds and thousands.

He's like, hundreds and thousands.

Now, then did he or did he not randomly

message you a week later with just the word

hundreds and thousands.

And then he's also, he's also been said to be

TikToks of British food.

It's great.

So we want to bring it here.

We want to take him to, we were saying in the

center of Birmingham.

like a McDonald's car park.

If anyone knows something that is a bean

related restaurant or fast food.

There's a spud restaurant, I know.

We want to keep, yeah, I've been like,

jacket spuds is plenty of those.

But we just want like, if they just like

specialising beans, any type of beans,

we want to keep up the facade that all we do

as British people, we eat beans,

make calls, we eat beans.

And you have a bean based economy.

The beans for breakfast, beans for dinner.

He believes we're hobbits.

Yeah.

Edwin told him.

Edwin was like, basically, all Edwin said

was, yeah, I don't like live in the center of London.

And he was like, she must live in London.

like a straw hut.

No.

But also we love like, so we might want to break.

We need to bring them over.

And then after that, we were three men at a

loose end out in the town.

And so what else he can do, but message rich

Porter and say, what are you at?

And Johnny Smith actually said,

we're at this place, come dance for us.

So I said, Ben's getting his nipple tassels

out for you.

And boy did I.

That is a true message.

Anyway, we found the guys eating dinner on

the history and says, Jason Camisa was with

them and a load of other journalists who

didn't look that excited about the fact we

turned up moments later with large bowls of ice cream.

Well, I'm saying large bowls.

Well, Ben and I had mini bowls.

We had a large bowl of ice cream.

We have what will be considered in the UK a

somewhat medium ice cream.

I'd say medium.

I'd say that was a small bowl of ice cream.

Americans called it a mini.

It was one scoop, but it was probably the

size of like a couple of scoops in the UK,

right?

It was Edwin in the queue, then Will then me

and Edwin got hit quite soon and he was eating it.

I thought I was going to get a small one size

up for a minute.

Now look at Edwin's and when,

oh, is that a mini?

I was like, yeah, I'll have one of those instead.

And Will said, I'm short of the three scoop.

Why I thought the mini was one scoop?

I thought I want three of those and I want

three different things, but three,

it's not that yours wasn't even a scoop.

It was scoops were huge.

You had three scoops of three flavors,

right?

Three scoops.

Well, yeah, one of each flavor.

One of those called the bees knees.

That's fantastic.

I would, again, if you haven't watched the

story on Instagram, I would liken it to if

you watch a cartoon from the early 2000s of a

child with a huge Sunday, it was your both

hands were on the bolt.

I couldn't finish it.

I had to throw it in the bin mainly because

one of the ice cream was blue.

So, yeah, we then went and assaulted a

Richard Porter and Johnny Smith,

who was trying to eat their dinner.

Next to the street edge.

Sort of like a dystopian dining.

Yeah, we just sort of stood in the road and

chatted to them.

Chatted shit at them.

Yeah.

And then went, all right, we're leaving.

But we'll be back at a moment.

And for the pièce de resistance of the whole

trip, we loaded into the rengi and blasted

tractors at night past their restaurant as

they ate it.

Richard Porter found it very funny.

Jason Kameeser didn't seem that...

Bad following, I guess.

Yeah, I don't know what's going on here.

So, I'd like to get Jason Kameeser as a guest

at some point and ask him,

Do you know what that was?

Do you understand that?

Do you know what was going on?

Did he educate him?

I don't know, okay.

So, and then what was it?

The only other thing we had was the next day,

we had another couple of names,

some impersonations.

Will you were who at the drive-thru?

I wasn't gonna say Romulus, but it wasn't.

You were Romus.

You were Romus, that was me.

That was me.

And Ben, you just went for?

Rory.

Yeah.

Which I actually think I'd buy that.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Basically, my issue is that I are laughing.

I say it.

I almost laughed at Rory, which wasn't that

funny, which can I imagine Rory as I said it

with a Mimi laugh?

But you didn't laugh when you said that I

reviewed pizzas for a living.

I was in the zone.

Yeah, sure.

All laugh when I said that you were a

policeman from slough.

I informed him I was a trainee.

Yeah.

No, I stopped laughing.

There we go then.

So, there is the end of Monterey for this year.

I'm sure there'll be more mentions as always.

We're back next year, so enjoy that.

Will we?

Will we?

Is that true?

Yeah, that's what we know.

Oh, okay.

That's what you told me.

Hey, man, who knows?

We'll have to see.

Will Endeavour.

So, what have we got on our list?

Let's go for our list.

Well, we have some old news that we haven't covered yet.

So, I thought, well, this is the podcast.

Why not cover it?

That makes sense, doesn't it?

We do do that.

We,

Edwin, you put in here on 6th of August.

That's 6th of August.

That there are BMW ads in cars.

There are, there.

Supposedly, people have been getting ads in

the BMW for Spider-Man.

What?

It's in the film.

It's yeah.

The Noya class, is it the iX3?

Yeah, it's in the film.

iX3 is where it's in, I think there might

also be another car, but people are booting

up their cars and they've got a little

Spider-Man ad when they start their car.

No, no, no, no, no, no.

That's making me want to go Ted Kuzinski on

this whole operation.

Who's this?

Don't worry about it.

You shouldn't have that.

(laughs)

So, a unibomber.

Oh, okay.

'Cause that's mental.

That's actually mental.

I'll stay out of this one.

Get out of my, I've bought this.

Yeah.

Okay, I guess you could try and argue it if you leave.

It's a good set that you don't own it yet.

But get out.

Well, that's what billboards and shit are for.

Don't advertise to me in my own bloody car.

This is, that is mental.

So, you get in your car, your car advertises

it, you turn on the radio, there's an advert

there, and you drive past a big old bus that

says the advert, it's like, what saw this then?

It's a good film, I watched it.

Does that make it fine?

I think if it was--

Does it make it, does it make it,

does it make it fine?

Let's say it was like the Odyssey and you're

like, well, I don't like that it was

advertised to me.

Haven't seen it yet though.

But I watched it.

And it was pretty good.

Well, if it was the Odyssey,

like IMAX, as known intended on your BMW screen.

Yeah, possible.

So, supposedly, just looking here,

it is supposedly all cars after 2020,

they pushed it out to an ad.

So it comes up on the screen.

No, if I've got a six year old car,

you can't start putting ads in it.

If I've just bought it and it's in the film,

it's kind of fair game, not really,

but kind of fair game.

But yeah, if I've had that car for six years,

you can't suddenly start giving me ads.

My golf and they start giving me ads for the

next Star Wars.

Oil top up.

I will be getting that price.

You do get that ad.

It just has top up oil.

You're like bloody ads in these cars.

It's ridiculous.

I'm just a little top up as well.

They're trying to upsell me in oil.

I'm not doing it.

So yeah, ridiculous.

Fill up with fuel.

No, thank you.

I won't be got by big TV.

What we got next?

Next up, moving on to similar news.

Kyle's Renault shoes.

We have a market to pump.

Now, we recently took hold of the Renault Clio market.

Sorry, not true.

The Renault Clio watch market because I

found a friend of mine gave me a Renault watch.

You all

went out and bought the same watches.

Also, the amount of people who are food and

fuel came up to--

Yeah, we have.

I shut my hand.

And as I said, I shut my hand.

I noticed on their wrist the exact Renault

Clio watch that Edwin you have and that I

attempted to buy.

Great work.

You are holding on to assets that are worth

more than you know.

I couldn't feel was butted with with automotive watches.

You know, crazy catals and everyone's wist.

Wist?

Wist.

They're wist.

So, our friend Kyle of Scirocco Automotive

who comes and helps on our channel comes and

helps on all the gears channel that you'll

see him around quite often said to me,

I was listening to the podcast and I heard

that you were talking about the watches.

What size shoe are you?

And I said, I'll be honest, Carl,

I'm a bit confused by this question because

those two things don't relate to each other.

I said, no, because I may have something for

you and I'm now going to pass this

opportunity onto Creamers because they don't

fit for me.

These are a set of Williams Renault shoes and

from the late '90s and Canon.

So, they are official F1 shoes.

He said he's looked and can't find them

anywhere, can't find an instance of them

being sold or anything, but they are size 9

UK or something.

I asked, but you're 10, right?

Yeah, no, but what about shoe size?

He didn't want to give that either.

It's not like you're saying I was 10 years

old, so I laugh.

Ben doesn't want to give away shoe size

either because there's a comment every single

week that asks for Ben to take shoes off.

Yeah, unfortunately, back guys now.

Very quick update.

From hearing that, it's gone.

Oh, my God.

10, very quick update.

That guy, if he's listening,

those shoes are under Ben.

So, you can go look at the local dump because

those do shoes.

Where would we find your local dump?

Yeah, what's the best postcode to go near?

I guess maybe the Swindon one,

the one next to him before would be accurate.

What?

Triangulate his position.

But they finally fell off my feet after the month.

They fell off.

Basically, yeah, they were hearing that.

Tell me what.

And they just fell off the bay.

I know you're this way for free.

So, these are, then they haven't been worn.

I'm doing a sales thing for you here because

you said, I'm gonna stick them up on eBay.

So, if you're a creamer and you want these

crazy ass shoes, I would like to see,

no, no, please, actually, noble ship bids.

This is not us.

This is Kyle.

And also, Kyle is one of the nicest people.

Genuinely, so don't be a clown and go and

start bidding this up.

If you actually want to buy them,

go and have a look, you'll find them on eBay

somewhere, I guess, under William's shoes.

Maybe I'll tell them to put cream in the

title or something.

But I want them very deep, deeply.

Those are just cool.

What size are you?

Yeah.

You could squeeze your little toes and look at you.

Could I do that?

Can I get your feet?

13.

13!

You can wear them like heels.

Or like gloves.

BFGs.

(laughs)

So, yeah, no, they are, those are cool ass shoes.

If you're an audio listener,

they are blue, sold, they have Williams down

the side, they have Canon, they say Renault

on it, I want it.

But I can't have it, so I will pass on the

gift to a fellow creamer.

Make him an author.

He can refuse.

Yep.

What we got next?

We've got, wait, there's a watch.

Oh yeah, he said something about that.

Naturally segueing onto the next thing,

somebody's made a cream watch.

He's got it up for you.

Lawyers are involved.

Ben's lawyers in particular.

I did say a long time ago that I would very

occasionally dip my toes into you.

Oh, no, not in the current line.

Dip my toes into the TC Reddit,

just occasionally to have a little look.

And I did do that recently, and I did find

this, which is a custom-made cream watch.

Now, which, you know, it's certainly

interesting, but I thought we should reward the effort.

So here we go, we put it up on the screen for

Ben, can you describe it for all the viewers,

please?

So this is a sort of dive watch looking.

Same thing, it's what, rubber strap.

And on it, it has the cream logo,

beneath it, it says the podcast.

And then beneath that, it says,

Will Chandler, Edwin Clinkenberg and Ben Rogers.

And then beneath that, it says,

I am a huge creamer, TDC.

And it's gold, with a bit of silver,

well, looks of it.

Also, it looks quite, the top of it looks

like it's really been worn.

So, this one is just absolutely daily in this watch.

Well, I assume this is possibly a used watch

that someone has crafted a custom-made face for.

Interesting.

But it's what it looks to be to me.

Now, either way, I don't know why you've done

it, but

bear enough, I've put the time in on that.

That's cool that you've done that.

So, Ben, will you be sending the lawyers

around?

Is it you or have we already sent them around?

For the copyright?

Yeah.

Hey, listen, it's not on me.

Hey, I had a few people ask me at Food and

Fuel when merch for Creamers coming.

And it's a question a lot of you've been asking soon.

So, I'm gonna say to you.

I showed one person a design,

'cause they asked me.

The asset I'll show you a design.

That's what you're cracking today.

Now, I can't show you.

No, they are.

I'll go on, man.

They asked for some event themed merch.

I said, "Do you know what, funnily enough,

Edwin has just made some this week.

I will show you."

I showed them the photo of it.

And they actually look quite shocked.

Yeah.

But they look quite happy, so.

I asked Ben if it was allowed,

'cause I made it as a joke and Ben went,

"Yeah, you can do that."

So, we're on, we're on for it.

Do you wanna show a little sneak peek?

No.

But it's coming soon, though,

so you might as well tease it.

It's coming soon in just a few weeks.

People can be patient.

A little corner?

Look, they've been patient for two years.

They can be a little bit more patient.

There's also one you're making today,

which is really cool.

That one's fine.

Yeah.

So, hey, we won't tease anymore,

but there will be a drop.

Perhaps a centennial drop?

Mm-hmm.

I've said too much, carry on.

We also have, I've seen a few people have sent this.

I think someone emailed it as well.

Defining the word "Paggers" or what "Paggers Zondini" is.

It turns out, if you Google "Paggers

Zondini", Google or Google's AI will notice

where it's come from.

Now, I think it has, it's sort of scraping it

from Reddit.

Yeah, but nonetheless, ridiculous that the

term "Paggers Zondini" is officially

immortalized on the internet,

not just in our words, but actually in Google.

And it actually tells you it's from the podcast.

It was said, but there's a couple of wrong things.

Do you have the screenshot?

I haven't, you, I think you've got that.

I do read it.

If you can read that.

So this is the AI overview on Google when you

type in "Paggers Zondini".

"Paggers Zondini" is an online slang term and

meme used by car enthusiasts to playfully

refer to a "Paggers Zondini" Zonda often

associated with the automotive content

creator communities, such as Will Chandler on

Instagram and cast potting circles on our

slash top lead center.

And then I like, it has a link to the source

and it's Instagram.com/dkengineering.

(laughing) Car culture, which I think is

because they posted about their Zonda and the

comments were filled with creamers.

Sorry, DK again.

Oh, DK.

The term blends "Paggers", a casual slang

descriptor with a whimsical Italian sounding

suffix applied to Horatio Pagani's famous supercar.

It frequently pops up in captions,

social media comments and infuseous meetups

with spotting rare Zondas out in the wild.

And then this is where, watch the script,

see a rare Zonda up close, DK Engineering,

all of the comments.

And that's changed.

It has, because it was slightly different to that.

There was a mention that it was related to

Cadre Horatio himself, which was,

you know, 'cause the AI has managed to figure

that one out.

Also mention of, it's known to have been

created by people such as Ben the event Rogers.

Yeah, yep.

And Horatio.

And Horatio.

But it's like Horatio Begane.

It just said, "And Horatio."

Just Horatio, mate.

Horatio, mate.

I mean, the names work.

It really does.

Horatio, mate.

They're taking the paggars out.

Bloody Zondini, fly me.

Also, like, a really cool cast,

I mean, we'd love to drive one day and it's

like, now it's--

It's the paggars Zondini.

Yeah, I've got it.

It will never work.

We are done.

Because we have ruined it.

Completely done.

What we got next?

Edwin, you're putting here the RS6 leaked in

the weirdest way.

Have you heard about this?

Do either of you know about this?

No.

So, you will know that there is now an Audi

RS5, which is in fact what?

Which is just an RS4.

It's an RS4.

There are plans to make an RS6,

though, still.

So there'll

45:55 Audi RS6 Leak and Predictions

be RS5 and RS6.

They will both be wagons.

Audi accidentally leaked the RS5.

The RS6.

Do you know how?

By a sticker in the boot of the RS5 that

depicts how to open the boot,

it features the RS6 on it.

Oh, wow, wow.

So they've accidentally, 'cause that is not

the RS5 from behind.

That is a different car.

That's a new A6 rear.

So that is the new A6, but with the exhausts

and with all that sort of stuff.

So clearly they made this kind of promotional

material when, all right, cool,

put that in the RS5 'cause it has the same

thing, forgetting that the RS6 is not out yet.

So unless it was a very deliberate thing,

but it has--

Absolutely.

Absolutely being leaked.

That will, obviously you can't see much for

audio listeners.

It's a stick, it's like a how-to sticker,

how to open the boot with the,

what do you call it, like, swish your foot

underneath the open the boot.

It's just like a little sketch drawing,

but it reveals the car.

Very odd because it--

How, how quite?

Because I'm looking at a photo now of the,

so, again, not great for

audio listeners, but we do apologize.

The top section, you see what the real lights are.

Those are not the real lights from the RS5 at all.

No, so they are different.

I think they'll do the exact same design.

I think they will.

Is the RS5.

Because in the leaked, in the,

like, covered up photos, the exhausts look to

be in the middle as well.

But then it looks too similar,

just a bigger version.

Hey, man, but that was always the deal.

They always look very similar.

So, interesting though, to see,

maybe it was just an early sketch or,

you know, something they've deliberately to

try and cause a stir, but the,

here's a, I will pull up the photo,

the test mule.

You can see that the exhaust is kind of in

the same sort of place.

And there's a light.

And the lights are in the same sort of place.

So, very interesting, Audi, you fumbled it yourself.

What's his name?

What's his name?

I'll make the CEO of Lamborghini.

Oh yeah, Steve.

He did say that

they kind of do a sort of tactical leaking of details.

Hey!

Because they know that they can't just surprise everyone.

Don't reveal too much of the podcast.

And I mean that, because you might reveal it

all, cause it's only 15 minutes long.

Is like all the spy shots you see?

They always appear suddenly.

I spy shots, I don't think you can,

people just take photos.

Yeah, but I wonder if they're leaking the spy shots.

Get people hyped up by it.

I think whenever you see like a behind the

scenes photo, like a kind of studio photo

that gets leaked, I think that's deliberate.

But interesting, we'll see what happens with the R6.

I think that looks quite cool in that drawing.

That looks angry.

Oh that.

Wonderful.

Ben, you said there has been a cream prediction.

Once again.

Yes.

What's all that then?

The Ferrari Lucha.

Back to Monterrey.

The Ferrari Lucha.

Yeah, the Ferrari Lucha sold for $40 million

at Monterrey.

Surely.

I had a message like the day after.

One man in a red hat.

And he said, "Congratulations,

Ben."

This is from someone called Charlie Williams' Instagram.

Hello, Charlie.

Message be saying, "Ben, I was just

re-watching episode 70 of the podcast.

I noticed you predicted the Ferrari Lucha

selling for $40 million at Monterrey."

What?

That was specific, but we kinda did.

Go to timecode and say, and you say,

"Spa, la, la, la."

Oh, it's Boiler.

Oh, here's the timecode.

Just not not.

But for some reason, on YouTube,

the timecode is different on Apple Music.

So he then sent me the clip of Apple Music,

and we're gonna play it live.

Here we go, sports fans.

It's gonna be--

It's gonna be--

It's got a Ferrari badge on it.

I'll buy that.

It'll be 40 million pounds.

Do you know what I bet it was?

Wow!

So once again, the cream podcast,

we not only predicted the GMA S1,

I mean, I'll just predict it.

I wasted it.

Yeah, it's true.

I mean, what is more likely here,

realistically more likely than us being

clairvoyant, is that the guy who bought it is a creamer.

And he went, "You know what,

I wanna do it to my charity.

It'll be a funny one with the cream boys."

A little bit of a currency discrepancy,

he said, "I don't really know the version,

so I'll just do 40 mil."

Yeah.

'Cause you said 40 mil, so I'll do that for you.

Or Ben.

Yeah.

Or I'll say, I'll be funny for me to say 40

million pounds.

And I'll say pounds, because when they come

to me and say, "What's that you?"

"What's that you?"

If you're like, "That'll be a funny little

32nd excerpt from the podcast to spend 40

million dollars."

Expensive?

When you were five billion, it's just a

little bit of pocket change.

Oh yeah, sure.

So yeah, we once again predicted something so newsworthy.

Another one.

Quick podcast.

I predict someone will give me a McLaren F1.

Fantastic, guys, let's look back at that in a year.

I predict that the event store is close than you think.

Ooh.

It's not.

Okay.

No, you've ruined it.

Yeah, you've--

I'll say that again.

I predict that my eventador is coming soon.

Cool.

Next.

Debinums.

Debbie Biggles.

No.

Debinums.

Do you know what this is, Ben?

It's a department store that is no longer operating.

Give me a vibe of Debinums if you were--

Right.

American, you don't really understand.

Debinums is a bit like Macy's,

but imagine if Macy's was a bit sadder.

Make it less specific, just in general.

It's department store.

Of what sort of varieties?

Is it posh?

Is it--

Yeah, it's sort of middle of the road.

They sort of sell, imagine brands that you

sort have this weird fuzzy memory of as a

child being somewhat fancy, but it's not

actually sort of that.

Most people buy dresses from them.

And Debinums is now dead, I believe.

No, they're online.

Debinums is online.

Oh, I didn't know that.

Drop shipping.

Crazy.

Well--

By being cute.

Well, 'cause what they're selling.

No, they're not.

Debinums are selling.

That's a, is it a--

That is a EGR blank.

EGR blanking plate for an M57,

M47, M67 on Debinums.

Debinums, and I thought, you know what,

let me get a quick check on what else they sell.

I've got this, I've got 20 L.O.

Wheel bolts.

Wheel bolts.

Wheel bolts for an E36.

So if you need wheel bolts, you can go to the

Debinums website, they can think and sort you out.

You know what, I quite like the idea of

sifting through paperwork in a car that you

buy, and it just has Debinums on the top of it.

Well, I've got this one too here,

if you'd like to have a look at that one.

Well, there, we've got--

Timing tools.

Yeah, Propeugeo Citroen Volvo Mazda 1.4,

1.6 HD.

Ti, silver, size.

One size.

Yeah.

As if you're buying socks.

Only five left in stock.

And we've got two more, here's the other one.

That's a turbocharger actuator weight skate.

And it doesn't say what car form.

From what it says from the trust,

you know, the trustworthy brand.

Specter whack.

Yeah, of course.

So just if you need, you know,

if you need a waist get actuator.

And then finally, this is my favorite.

That is a two and a half inch inlet,

two and a half inch outlet, car stainless

exhaust muffled.

And there's a back box from again another Nestloon.

Nestloon.

Just a kind of universal two and a half inch back box.

So if you're, you know, you're straight

piping the Fiesta, pop down Devanums.

Can you go on to the home page just for a

contact to see what other things they're selling.

Or on the home page, Devanums have got,

we've got some weights, we've got some

dresses, homes, beauty, you know,

car.

But they're not advertising it on the front page.

Yeah, what happened to the M57,

BGR?

(laughs) So, you know, just congrats,

Devanums on the shift over to your new products.

We'll watch your career with great interest.

It's very interesting.

Maybe this is what, maybe this is what,

what they were missing.

This is why they went down.

They went, we're not selling enough perfume.

What if we become Halfords?

It's E.G.R.

Delete.

Is it not somewhat illegal?

Yeah.

So, as a decats, we do decats,

we do pops and bangs, tunes now as well.

Balaclava's is now on there.

Spray, the spray tint for your number plates,

we'll do that as well.

Devanums becoming the 30 driver.

I never thought I'd scroll down to a Devanums

description and read the line for track use only.

Now, Benjamin, back

to the news, please.

Yeah.

And this is, it's sort of back to Monterrey,

but it's not.

We're not going there.

You tell me that the Revuelto SV price has been leaked.

Hey!

How would you know that if you weren't a rich man?

Hey!

Because I inquired.

Oh, surely.

Now I didn't inquire.

Essentially, the base price is meant to be

about three quarters of a million dollars.

Whoa!

For four options.

So, there is a chance, if you option it high

enough, relatively highly,

It could be a million dollars.

It could be a million dollar car out the door.

No, that is crazy.

Look, it's a lot.

No, it doesn't.

I'm not gonna say it's great value,

I'm not gonna say that.

But, when you think you can spec a Revuelto,

pretty high, for some 50, like,

600, 500, 500 and something.

I'm fairly sure you can spec a Revuelto up to

a ridiculous amount of money.

So, I just looked here, this is just Google

AI, whether or not to trust it,

but there's two or three places saying the

same thing, that an event at all SV,

new was approximately 450 to 500,000 dollars.

So, that's with a bit of an effect,

that's probably not far off.

Yeah, so I guess that, I guess it makes--

Ben's frowning into his throat.

Oh, 10 years, that's a lot of inflation.

A lot of the money, 600 odd.

That makes sense.

Any bankers out there?

Yeah, but that's, it's still,

there's still more.

Yes.

But I think it's still a lot more though.

Yeah, because it's still whacked another 150

ground top of it.

Yeah, because they'll say, because technology

increased and this cuts good and buy it.

I don't really know what the comparison is

between like a Mercilago price of inventory,

like, like base base, if you compared them all.

I'd imagine it would get more expensive

because, you know, they're not just,

it's not just some Italian, Italian dude

throwing it together.

It's actually like, they'll,

like, you know, engineers and machines and what such.

But yeah, that's a lot of money.

And I'm sure it'd be very, I'm interested to

see what happens with the Revuelto SV,

because it's, I don't know if it's been

received hugely well.

People I've seen hit the way they're just

like, this kind of doesn't look like what I expected.

There are lots of changes.

And if you compare it to an Event Store SV,

or Mercilago SV is probably one of the most

extreme changes.

Yeah.

But Event Store SV is not that different.

No, there's a wing and there's a slight

diffuser change and a front bumper change,

which is exactly what the Revuelto SV has got.

Yeah.

So what do you want?

But I think it's, people are expecting some

mansettie kit thing, but they're never,

they're never going to do that because it's,

well, because it's vile for start.

Yeah.

They have a tripod update, apparently.

update.

They never gave it away to a young child.

We've got.

So it's in a shell-out Paul Speed Broker's

house that you let stay in.

It's still in that house.

We haven't heard anything back.

So, you know, I think it is.

So the one nice thing we tried to do.

Didn't do it.

I've noticed I have no memory of where it is.

It could be in the Range Rover.

Oh, fantastic.

Well, congratulations to the rental car

company on your new tripod.

I think I can use it to make content.

We checked the Range Rover, so it's probably

in the house.

I think it's in the house.

Well, you should, you had that.

Yeah.

When I packed up to leave, I sort of

accounted for the stuff I bought with me.

I forgot what they do.

Well, it was quite a novel thing.

What if you had a baby abroad,

then?

Would you leave that home?

I would be so reckless to go on holiday

during my due date.

Well, could it always come beforehand?

Who knows?

Well, not in this situation.

I'm,

we're creating.

Yeah, there's again, a few putting a clown

number plate leaf man on a new smart car.

I don't have a photo of this.

I was running.

I saw a, you know, there's those new smart cars.

They're like the Mercedes, they're the

Chinese smart cars.

Yeah, they don't look like a smart car.

Yeah.

I think it's pretty smart.

A little throwback.

I saw one of those things.

Now, what, what sort of, what sort of weather

would you say that we've been having recently in England?

In England.

Hot and dry, not muggy.

Hot and dry.

We haven't

57:23 Rover Enthusiasts and Their Cars

rained for many months.

Yeah.

Okay.

I saw one of those smart cars with one of

those absolutely stupid, stick on leaf

leaves, leifis, that you put on your number

plates, try and hide your number plate.

Hey.

So if you see those things.

Yeah.

So it's for you put, you put this leaf over

your number plate on a certain digit.

So you go, if you get caught by a speed

camera, you can play it as I say,

it was dirty.

I leave it.

It was a completely brand new spig and span,

like tire shine on in smart car,

whatever you want to call them with a leaf on

the rear plate.

And when I went past that, I looked at the

front and I leaf on the front plate.

Yeah, we get two leaves, just two.

Only two and they stay.

Autumn is a tough time.

You get two leaves.

How do you get the one on the back?

Were you reversing?

How about happen?

Well, obviously, that single leaf flew up and

stuck to the plate, doesn't it?

Although when it hasn't rained in perhaps

seven months somehow.

So you are an absolute whopper,

your whopper of the week.

And do you know what you should do?

Sixty two in the middle lane.

I worried.

Because I was trailering, so I was doing 65

and I couldn't go past them.

I had to wait for someone to move them out

the way and then I could go around.

You are a clown.

You're an absolute, also, middle aged dude,

normal looking dude, not a 30 driver with his

family in the car.

You are a clown.

That is a strange thing to do.

Maybe it's not speed.

Maybe it's.

Oh, maybe it's not my insurance.

Not a consequence.

Insurance.

Yeah.

Police sees it.

You know, this is a fake leaf,

right?

What?

What?

What?

I never knew that.

Someone's put a fake leaf on my car and I

never spotted it.

But it was, you could see from afar how

obviously a fake leaf it was.

Ridiculous.

Next up, also from you, Edwin,

you Rover people.

I have a question.

Mm-hmm.

Rover people.

Yeah.

You, this is, I think, a uniquely English

thing, but I'm sure in different countries

they span to different people.

We make fun of Rovers a lot,

but hey, you're a part of the car community.

If, could you describe to me,

not a person, but what's a person that's into Rovers?

What have they got on their driveway?

Oil.

Well no, what cars have they got in Rovers?

They have a Rover, right.

But what do they almost certainly always also have?

Caravan.

Another Rover.

A second Rover.

But why is it, and I saw this,

'cause I saw this on the way to Shedfest,

I saw a, it was a ZS or something,

like the cool looking one, but with a broken

streetwise next to it.

Why is it that the second Rover--

I saw that.

Why is it always Rover?

Yeah.

There is always one Rover that works,

maybe, it has a head gasket issue for it.

They're like Rover households.

And they all have Rovers.

They all have sort of Saab households.

I know Karl from 'Scare Rocket' is watching

this going, "Hey, watch your mouth right now."

You've promoted my shoes, but this is too far.

You've made enough money on these shoes for

me to see your ass.

But there is always one working Rover,

and then a broken, dilapidated Rover that

looks like it hasn't moved in 10 years.

What's the case with, why is that,

then?

It's like it's not even a parts car either,

it's not being taken apart.

It's always a different model.

It's just the, that's it.

For sure, it will always be a different model.

There's never 275s, there's never a ZS,

ZS, it's a ZS and a ZT, or a 75 in a streetwise.

Why is that?

Man told me he had a Rover watch.

This is a watch-related thing,

it came up to me, it shed for,

not shed first.

It was a while ago.

At Chelsea Walsh and said, I have a Rover,

I can't remember what, because they're all the same.

I think it was a 75, you said.

No, the watch was Rover 70.

Oh, that's right, I think he had a Rover 200,

I don't know what that is.

Okay.

And he had a Rover 75 watch,

and he showed me, and it was interesting.

It looked like how you imagine a Rover 75

watch would be.

Yeah, okay.

You're looking at him like, you got two of

those, don't you?

You look at someone again.

No, you have a Rover.

It's Rovers.

Yeah.

No one has a Rover.

Yeah.

You'll have Rovers.

'Cause otherwise it could be confused with a Range Rover.

Whereas Rovers is, ah, I see that you're not

a Range Rover man.

It's also, Rovers was old people,

but now it's like, there are still old people

in Rovers, but now there's this youth.

There's always, yeah.

I mean, they're not like the trendy Instagram

influencers doing Rovers.

I haven't reached that yet, and I'm unsure if

I ever will.

I don't know.

As we've talked about, influencer Instagram

could make any car.

Yeah.

This is the best car in the

world.

Now, you wanted an S-class, but what you

really

wanted was this Q upbeat 2000s music,

Rover 75, jacket ill-fitting.

(laughing)

The Rover 75, yeah.

I mean, there'll be people raging right now

going, it was a fantastic car.

Yeah.

Yeah, sure.

Sure, absolutely.

Enjoy the MG from China.

Enjoy your Rovers.

1:02:09 Rover Enthusiasts' Collection

In brackets, you will, brackets,

there's two.

I've never seen one who's, they seem to be

either Rover or MG.

Yeah, that's true.

I don't, I rarely see a crossover.

I bet you there is.

I bet you there's a lot of people that do

crossover 'cause they're like,

look, same family.

I've got a Rover, don't worry.

I am exciting.

Also, I've got an MG.

(laughing)

Basically, it has an eclectic mix.

Yeah, that's a, ooh.

I've got an eclectic collection of automobiles.

Over there is my Rover and over there,

that's my MG.

(laughing) These are the same car.

(laughing)

And they are both broken.

But yeah, just an observation I'd like to

know from Rover people in the comments,

why have you got two?

Why is there always two?

And how many have you got?

And I don't wanna hear that it's 'cause one's

broken down.

One's always terminally broken down.

One's broken down to the point where it's not

possible to move.

Yeah.

20 years.

Yeah.

And it's just sad.

How about that 20 years?

Are you gonna fix it?

Yep, nope.

Yeah, I'm trying.

No, this is my ornament one.

I have to have this.

This one's now one with the driveway,

so it's actually impossible to separate the two.

Anyway.

You've also put in here wrong names,

I'm assuming this was at.

This was actually a nice little anecdote

'cause this person I believe is a creamer

said we Ben, Ben Patrick and I walked past.

And as we walked past, a guy looked at me,

went, "Will!"

And then we carried a walking and Ben shouted,

"Almost!"

That was Patrick.

And then as we carried on down the road I had

behind his friend's laughing and him go,

"Oh no!"

And I got a message saying, "This is from a

woman called Becker, "my husband called you

Will and he was so annoyed with himself,

"he absolutely loves you guys."

So shout out to you, it was funny,

don't worry, it's fine.

I did get someone who also referred to you as

a Will, but to me.

Oh okay.

So I was talking, there was a,

I also met Theo actually of,

well, met for a second time.

We met him many, many moons ago,

but we'll get to that another time.

And I was speaking to many, many creamers.

Of Black Panther.

Of Black Panther, yeah.

And talking about many, great many things.

And then we got on to talking about,

have I been up the hill?

And I said, "No, I was broken,

blah, blah, blah, blah."

And then I said, "Oh, why don't you just let

Will go up the hill?"

And with him, I just went, he was,

he was talking like metaphysically.

"Emotionally, why don't you let Will go?"

And he clocked it immediately and I was like,

"You're done."

That's it.

No more for you.

You're out of this conversation.

You just looked at him and went,

"Goodbye."

That's it.

It's a shame.

Someone comes from behind him,

chloroform them and takes them off.

It was going so well.

And the rest of the crowd look around and go,

"Don't make that mistake again."

Okay.

This is just a distant sniper shot.

Just because we are both white men with bids.

Yeah.

Doesn't mean we're the same.

All right.

Or there will be a macro of sound and distance.

No one does it with Ben.

They will drop.

No one goes, "Ah, that must be Ben."

They do mix them up for the event though.

Yeah.

Two very distinct people.

Do you know what a country calls Barbados.

Do you know when we used to refer to schizophrenic Ben?

That's his Jekyll and Hyde.

It's Ben and the event.

They're the two people.

The event happens and it's...

I'm the event.

I had so many people just refer to me as,

I walk around people just shout the event at me.

Which is quite nice, but also.

Accurate, from all angles.

You keep track of it, and I need to know

who's doing this.

Also, your dad turned off.

My dad did come to the event.

Did you get any events for your dad was there?

Oh, your loads.

And what does he think?

He loves it.

Yeah.

Also, shout out Ben's dad.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Hello, Ben's dad.

Hello, Ben's dad.

But my dad to meet Edwin Will,

like he was some sort of fanboy,

and he loved it.

So yeah.

The man who made you.

He did.

Yeah.

The man who made the event.

He's the constructor.

Yeah.

He's the planning committee.

He's behind it all.

Yeah.

When we say that Ben is the manipulator,

it's actually Ben's dad is there.

With the strings telling Ben what to do.

With the strings above the strings.

Now he loved it.

I want to end on something of a question,

perhaps a forum of my own.

Because

1:06:15 Forum Question: Audi A3 Wheels

you might remember it, you might not.

This will be something for the creamers

really to answer.

I saw something this week while I was on the way home.

And I'm just gonna show you a photo.

It's just a photo of an Audi A3.

Yeah.

Do we have any thoughts on what are looking at?

I think many for you, Ben.

Is there anything that's throwing you off?

Wheels at Wil.

Wheels at Wil.

Wheels at Afterlarket and the tyres at Chunky.

Right.

What I'm gonna do, and this is for audio

listeners, this is just an Audi A3.

A late shape, this is a 2015.

Yeah, for some.

AB.

Completely stock.

Not modified.

I can confirm that the man inside was a

later, middle to later aged man in a stripy dress shirt.

Like he was kind of businessman-like.

Not pen, wasn't he?

Very, very clean looking man.

Looks like, what do you do?

Someone's dad.

An honest man.

An honest man.

And what I'll pull you up here is the next

photo that I got.

I'll just do a head and do a sazoom in there.

What does that say, Will?

I saw it from the first one.

Are they a complimented wheel?

There's a complimented M05s.

How has that happened?

On a completely standard Audi A3.

Also, a complimented is like,

it's not a bowler or something.

You have to know.

You have to know to have a complimented.

I know they're not like mad expensive,

but it's, they're not, you wouldn't Google

wheels for that.

And end up on that, you've got to know.

Yeah, it happens.

My granddad once put a set of OZs on his.

Of course, do you know what though?

OZs, OZs, now I'm thinking of it.

They're the one I see so often.

Yeah.

Those like really like multi-spoke OZs.

They're always dreadful fitment,

really small.

I just see.

It'll be on a Rover or something or someone's

in Nantas car.

They're micro, whatever, it's going down the

road with a set of OZs on.

Yeah.

Not knowing that they're ready for a nice little tractor.

My grand had the, I don't want the

generations, but the early 2000s are caught.

The one that came in Euro are formed now.

Okay, yeah.

He had that one, but he had,

it wasn't a type S, I don't think,

but it had the little spoiler at the rear and

like the bumper.

So it looked relatively sporty and he loved it.

And the wheels, I don't know,

they got, I think they had corrosion stuff.

So the dealership were like,

he's old school, he went to the dealership.

They said, they said, get some new wheels,

but they're, you can have these aftermarket ones.

I went over to his house, didn't seem very often.

And he had a set of OZs on his accord.

What was the sort of spec?

Yeah.

Silver.

Well, car, silver.

Did they, were they multi-spoke?

Was it nice fitment or?

No, they think it was negative.

Was he, was he static or was he on air?

It was almost up.

It was a staggered setup.

It was front wheel drive, it was gone for a wider front.

Well, I remember how you, yeah,

one of the NS2 hours, I would find the

turn-ins really nice on that.

Yeah, I was in a lot of rub.

He was probably late 70s, early 80s at the time.

So yeah, I don't think he knew.

But this is my question.

What is a car that has no, no reason to have

aftermarket wheels on that you've seen,

that has some crazy wheels?

Because things like TSWs and OZs,

you could find in Halfords in the early 2000s

and you might buy them as a replacement,

but comps.

Yeah, that's true.

I don't understand.

But a rally wheel on your way through.

I need to understand what went on here.

Was it a used car that has then been sold on there?

Yeah.

If the wheels, but even then it's like,

it doesn't quite add up.

Compromotive is an elder statement of it,

elder statement.

Someone who knows, someone who knows what

they're doing in terms of--

It's like that's all thought.

That is the one--

OZ Super Turismo.

That's the wheel-o picture.

When you just thought of that,

when you mentioned that, that's what I could think of.

Yeah.

Just an OZ Super Turismo on random cars.

I don't know where he got it from.

On things.

They must come in so many different PCDs in Finland.

But in Germany, across on the continent,

it's more common because you have to have a

set of winter wheels.

You have to have a set of winter tires.

So what most people do is they have summer

wheels and winter wheels.

Instead of changing the tires across,

they have a spare set of wheels.

Normally, you just put a set of,

what do you call, why have I just forgotten the word?

Winter tires?

No, cheap stele, but stele is on.

But some people will have cool looking summer

tires and have their originals with the winters.

You have to do that.

You have to, you have to have between certain

months, winter tires or not all seasons,

but like snow prepared sort of tires.

Really?

Yeah.

Even in like Southern Spain.

No, no, no.

It's like, I

1:10:25 Winter Wheel Practices in Europe

know Germany has it, I think Holland from

memory has it.

So there are certain countries we have to.

There's more sense there, you see everything

running around on Fox wheels or TSW's 'cause

they just want something cheap.

But here, we don't have that.

So the only reason you're putting them on is

if you've destroyed your set or you're like,

mad.

Yeah.

You've got comps under A3.

Is it that your wheels are mashed and you

need to find an equivalent, it's like all

these are cheaper or somewhat or somebody in

the garage or something said,

well, your Audi wheels are gonna cost this

much, but we can get you these.

But that one seems odd to me,

also in black as well.

Yeah.

Which I'm not even sure though,

maybe they do come in there.

My, when we came back from South Africa,

my dad had at this point a 200 and something,

1000 mile V10 Tuareg.

And he was like, this is going to blow up.

And it was when Cayenne's had got really

cheap, like super cheap.

And he rang up a dealership and they said,

I will part X your Tuareg or like a low

mileage, old original Cayenne,

but it's got some aftermarket wheels on it.

And I said to him, do you have a photo of it?

And he was like, no, I don't have a photo.

He went off, swapped the car.

And when he came back, I don't know if you

ever saw this car, well, it had a set of,

they were called car graphic wheels.

They are essentially BBSLMs.

Hey, you do.

D.R.

BBSLMs on a Cayenne.

This car looked sick.

I've seen these.

Like so sick.

And I remember him turning off and I was like,

oh.

What?

That does look.

But he was like, yeah, I don't really like them.

I don't care.

And he was like, I just want Porsche wheels.

I was like, no, you have to leave those on.

Those are the coolest wheels.

So he was rolling around like a full on drug

dealer what was equivalent to about a two grand Cayenne.

Yeah.

Looking like a proper drug dealer.

But they are, they're cool with car graphic wheels.

So there we go, folks.

Let us know in the comments what cars you've

seen that have weird off-the-market wheels on

a normal looking car.

And again, no lies.

No lies and no bidding on car's shoes if

you're not actually gonna buy them.

And especially not the one who wants Ben's shoes.

Thank you very much for listening to this

episode of the Cars Rule Everything Around Me podcast.

We will see you next week as always and soon

with some friends.

A grand tour, damn it.
