0:00 Introduction

It's like a business man flying past in his

tax right off Tesla.

It's tunnel mode.

You're like the tunnels, yeah.

We're going to do it for you.

Okay.

This is for us to choose.

Okay.

You're having fun?

No, let us take over.

We will ask

the rest.

Time to get the C4 out.

I'm going to go back

there.

I'm going off in my citrus.

How's Rule Everything Around Me podcast?

Where we answer the question,

whether cars rule or ruin everything around

us this week with myself, Edwin,

William, to my left and Benjamin behind the camera.

Hello.

I have to rush it through to beat the hello there.

I have to be a quick one.

Before we begin the podcast,

we have to answer the question whether cars

do rule or ruin.

William?

Again, it's another rule just because there's

no reason to ruin.

Okay.

I'm glad it has a clutch now.

Yeah.

When you clutch, which is great and the old

clutch was actually staggered.

There'll be a video or has been a video at this stage.

On that, the clutch was definitely confirmed

culprit of the gear changing issue.

Other than that, it's good.

I did sit in a render over the other day and

sit in it.

And I was like, I need to fix this just to

get some bits old.

And now the weather has turned and I'm like,

well, it is a good winter daily.

This is what I was going to ask because we

went out and the C.L.

earlier and you said, I am getting bored of the C.L.

Part of that is the music thing.

I genuinely think it is.

I'm just driving it around in silence.

You're driving like a true C.L.

driver.

The first wheel was just wafting about and

now he's just doing pulls on every straight road.

That's the good thing about a Range Rover is

it doesn't allow that.

I can drive like a penis in the Range Rover,

but it doesn't do the same thing.

Are you sure?

Because the C.L.

is a V.A.

and it's more like an actual car than a land

yacht like the Range Rover is.

You think, I should be able to have some fun

in this, but you can't.

I didn't think this would happen,

but I might crossroads here.

Overall, pretty much.

I think the C.L.

goes.

I think that Range Rover comes back.

I think he gets a second win.

That's my belief.

It could be.

I've ordered 600, 700 grand worth of parts to

get that car sorted.

See, it's not his minute.

He's come back in.

Stop his time.

Who do you want to step up for the final

penalty and the Champions League final?

It's the Range Rover 4.4.

It's Mr.

Rover himself.

Ben.

Oh, is it going to be my fourth,

fifth ruin of the world?

I'm sure it'll be his time.

I tires.

Well, let's go back.

Let's go back.

I have an S2000 in my possession.

He's now,

he's now, he's poly-bushed.

He's back.

So you claim?

It's

great.

The other day, so I got that,

today's Wednesday.

I got the car back on late on Friday of last week.

And then,

sorry, I was like, I'm going to bring it home.

It does have it.

I voted to flood.

I thought, great, that's nice for a lower car.

So I left it here.

On Monday, I'm like, cool, I'm going to be

with my first drive in it with the

poly-bushed, aligned everything.

So we went to lunch and these guys went,

I'll go in one car and I'll go in the other one.

So I went in the other one, in my car.

And went on this very bumpy road and there's

some rubbing.

Sure, a little bit.

I'll find you get that.

And then I just heard, like proper rubbing

and it turns out one of the tabs.

Someone had a walkie talkie next year.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

One of the tabs on the front arch where the arch liner.

Yeah, where the arch liner mounts had decided to go.

You know what, I met one, I'm going to be

cutting it for your tire.

I fancy a bit of tire today,

I think I'm going to eat that.

I'm going very fist and yeah,

so that I had to buy new tires for it.

And we also did, we rolled the front arches

so that now they are, they are unable to rub.

He very kindly gave himself to my cart once again.

Oh, sure.

For hours.

And saw it out, so it shouldn't rub now,

but I have had to fit new tires,

which are nice.

And you're not having to do this.

They're lovely.

Anyway, Edwin.

You don't want to talk about that?

No.

Okay.

Yeah, I can.

I don't think stretch tires.

Not stretch tires.

I mean, if it was a t-shirt,

I'd say it's looking a bit tight.

I'd say it's gone in the dry one too many times.

Basically, I don't know anything about wheels.

I've learned this.

Wheels are stupid.

I don't know.

They're rounds?

You know that?

I know that much.

You know a good amount, then.

I know that the wheel, the higher size,

if people who know tires may be able to

understand this, the tire size on the RPF-1,

the actual size is 235/40/17,

which is apparently, apparently,

I've learned a very annoying tire size.

What do you say that?

Is that the thing that what people are

suggesting to run, or is that just what was

on it previously?

Because the tires that were on there

previously were not necessarily the correct parts.

Yeah, some people run, I think,

you can go up to 255.

255 is chunky, but obviously,

because it's so many, so small tolerances in

the wheel arch, you can't really run really thick boys.

So I thought, "Yeah, I'll go a little bit stretched.

I'll give myself some more revenge.

I'll be able to see they look awful."

So I'm now running 225s.

We found photos of 225s of other tire brands,

and they didn't look stretched.

But these ones have come out looking...

I mean, before we even mounted them,

they looked a little bit stretchy.

They came off the truck, being delivered,

and I was like, "Oh, my God,

what?

I like this."

Ben was unhappy the moment he saw his knee.

He was so excited as well.

He was like, "My

5:13 Elon Musk's Flying Car Concept

tires are here."

And then we had...

That's how you know you've been corrupted,

Ben, because what that should have been is a

moment of joy, because you would have

thought, "Great, I can now drive my car with

no problems."

But now you're thinking, "I'm going to get bullied here."

It doesn't look that bad.

It doesn't look terrible.

It just looks stretched.

The front, actually, it sort of soups it in a

way, the way that the front that it sits in the arch.

The rear...

I mean, the rear needs to come down,

but it doesn't look...

I don't know.

So it's interesting.

Another set of tires on the horizon.

So, yeah, they'll do me for now,

and then I'll...

And what about the tires?

Yeah, exactly.

But yeah, I don't know.

So it's a ruin for those reasons.

It has been a tumultuous week for me.

No, it has been...

It's a ruin.

It's definitely a ruin.

First things first, I finally pulled in my Mercedes.

Now, you might remember from many months ago,

I'll dive into this in a video,

so I won't leave too much.

I will leave some of it on the table.

But I had taken my car to a specialist,

and for three months it sat,

nothing happened, because they said there was

a part that was not available anymore.

And then they went bust.

I got the car back.

Sorry, then they also went out of business.

And then I put the car up on the ramp this

weekend, found that they had lost most of my

under trace, which it's impossible to find from C55.

Nice.

The transmission service that was supposed

have done, they half asked, and everything

was held in with hand, not even hand tight,

just hand threaded bolts, and found that the

issue was not an issue all along.

I fixed it.

So you'll see that in a video.

That was very annoying.

So that's three months I haven't had that

car, and I wanted to sell it,

and it's been sad.

But is you now coming into daily rotation?

It might have to be, because it's the perfect timing.

Today it's mode, and I drove to work in a

slammed BTCC-style E36.

It wasn't great.

Even without the power to skid,

it's still sketchy.

So, and that brings us on to another ruin.

A friend of ours said, "My mate was thinking

of selling his Ranger of a classic."

I said, "Tell me about this."

He said, "It's blue and black."

I said, "How fortuitous for me?"

And he said, "Yeah, I think you might sell it.

It's got some work you need to do,

but it could be potentially cheap."

Got excited, got very excited.

And then he messaged me and said,

"Yeah, he doesn't want to sell it.

Stop the sound, buddy."

I tried to sell it.

Oh, I actually won't.

I tried again.

I tried and said, "Look, come on."

I don't want to sell it.

Because at that point, you then need to offer more.

You need to offer a healthy sum,

which I don't want to do.

So I've decided I want a black crane driver

classic for winter and beyond.

So I need to look forward.

I'm frustrated.

I just want a car, man.

You were very excited when you heard about that.

I'm so excited.

That was a real punch to the gut.

But on break the notes, the golf behind us

and the Fiesta, we're really going now.

We're really shifting now.

Golf looking great.

That's quite cool.

So we've done some body bits today and then

we've got the wheels to go on tomorrow,

which I'm very excited for.

Friday we're going to an audio place as well

for the Fiesta and I've just been informed as

of yesterday that it will be getting a twin

12-inch subwoofer set up in the room.

So that's the car in the size of Fiesta.

The bits we fitted may well vibrate off of it

once we've got that

8:23 Porsche Tunnel Mode Patent

going.

So that was going to be good.

I can't wait for that.

So overall, that is two rules on a ruin.

Two rules on a ruin.

Two rules on a ruin.

One ruin in a rule.

That's not true.

So one of those things was true.

Okay.

So we move on to things.

There's things in anecdote, stuff and notes.

And Elon Musk's flying car James Bond,

which is something I put in.

I was listening to Joe Rogan Elon Musk

podcast because there are interesting things

in there sometimes.

I'm probably a fraction of the way through it.

But he started talking about his car stuff.

And normally I phase out here because he's

talking about Joe Rogan starts talking about

his tuned Tesla and then he goes,

yeah, that's cool.

You should see this new, it's just boring.

But he was talking about the Tesla Roadster,

which was this thing they talked about many years ago.

It's gonna do 9,000 miles an hour,

not 60 in less than zero seconds and whatever.

But he's now doubled down on that.

Okay.

He's beyond doubled down on that and saying

it's still coming.

It's still coming, but it will be beyond what

you've ever thought.

He said it's basically not even a car anymore.

He said, imagine every James Bond gadget,

it's more than that.

Okay, so people are just gonna be driving

another road with 18, 47 firing out the car.

He kind of hinted at it being a flying car.

I was listening to it.

I was like, look, come on, man.

'Cause he said, I can't say to imagine it,

but he's thinking there may be a demo or some

sort of prototype orbs or something to show this year.

Well, sorry, this is November.

It's a month and a half to get this flying

space James Bond car.

He's in for his listening to this?

No, no, no.

We've only drawn it so far.

Well, I'm interested because it's different

to other crap, but it's still electric.

So it's not going to be that interesting,

but with gadgets and stuff.

I could be swayed.

The thing that is interesting,

as much as I hate the Cybertruck,

it is different.

They did pull off the thing that they said,

which was, it's not going to be like anything else.

Fine.

So if you can do the same thing,

fine, but I also, it's been hyped too much.

It's like GTA six.

It's going to be the best thing you've ever seen,

though.

You're going to ruin it for yourself.

You think that needs to be unbelievable.

And in an electric car, I just don't see it.

It would have to do something.

So it would have to fly.

Yeah.

You actually have to fly, like successfully.

If anyone's going, "Okay, that's pretty cool."

I just like the idea that that's just,

it just drops like a normal thing.

By the way, you can buy this car tomorrow.

You can fly now.

Are you in America?

I'll see you in a bit.

I'm trying to get the car.

You can see it.

Lawmakers around the world.

No, no, you can't.

You cannot do that, actually.

You can't just be on the M25 and go,

"I'm just going to leave."

I can't be bothered with this.

Meanwhile, I'm blocking a Cessna,

watching a businessman fly past in his tax

right off Tesla.

Now personally, I don't believe it.

I just don't.

I don't.

They're never going to.

Okay, fine.

You can design whatever you want,

but at the end of the day, you are a publicly

traded company and these make profits.

You're not going to be going and putting all

these dumb things.

I can be wrong, but they might do an event

where they go, "It does this.

It's never going to happen."

But this was believable when it was the Tesla

Roadster, whatever it was.

It was just mad speed.

I mean, there was range figures.

I think that would ridiculous.

600 miles in 2017.

But it's like stuff that's sort of feasible

now, if you look at what Riemack can start doing.

But now he's like, "It's going to fly."

And shoot baddies from a distance.

But this is a injector seats for your man.

This is what noise about it,

though, because in 2017, when that was

announced, it was like 1.1 seconds to 60 and

it's going to be, and that is all,

you know, impressive and at the time,

you know, the quickest class six was like 2.3.

Cool.

I think actually, maybe, originally it was

1.96 or something.

Like, but you wait eight years and then it's

not that impressive anymore.

You can't be like, "Yeah, it's going to do

that in 2040, mate."

And then...

I think that's why they're now thinking,

because he's asked on it and he was like,

"It's actually going to be even more crazy."

It's going to be even more moment.

They said a couple of years ago,

when the last update on this thing has never

shown that it will have like rocket

thrusters, but it's like compressed air at

the rear, which will help it accelerate faster.

It's

going to be all modes of transport.

If you get to a

train track, pop it on the rails,

then you get to an

airport, on the taxiway, off you go,

boat, you can do all of those now.

They've been taking deposits for 80 years,

right?

Actually, hang on.

If you pay 200K to them, right?

And then you get a refund of 200 grand eight

years later, surely that is actually your up?

No, your inflation, you're down.

Oh, wait, wait, I mean, you're up,

200 grand is worth less than that.

Yeah, technically, yeah.

So you'll be up a couple of percent.

Invest in your life.

Invest in your life.

It's going to be a disclaimer.

Yeah, this is not a financial advice.

Right, what have we got next?

So something we meant to talk about last time

out was from you, Benjamin, by flat,

get a pogami.

I love the sound of this.

14:00 TVR's Return and Electric Future

Power block in Miami.

In slough.

Wait, if you buy a pogami, they'll give you a

power block.

It's changed.

I've just had to read it through.

It's changed.

Originally, it said that if you buy the flat,

you get an allocation for a pogani utopia.

Wow.

An allocation.

Well, as did you expect the car?

You don't pay for it, obviously,

you'll get a free car.

But I've just read that same post I saw and

now it's saying edit.

If you buy the car, you get the flat.

So it's a mystery.

So hold on.

So it's not this one.

It's not the classic one that was the Zonda R.

mounted to a wall in Miami.

I don't know.

I know that they are building a tower block

of the, it's quite a pogani

something.

A pogani tower.

I originally read that it was you buy the

penthouse and you get a utopia allocation.

Okay.

But now I'm reading that if you buy a utopia,

you get an allocation.

Well, if you just go to the garden and go,

can I have a utopia and they go,

yeah, sure.

Yeah, you just buy it.

Do you just also want to buy a house?

They go, what?

No, I just want, I want my car.

I know, but this does have more doors.

So these are penthouses.

toilet to Pagani Residences.

Whoa, 30 million and 28 and a half million

dollar penthouses.

Now, now I'm assuming there

is a wait list or whatever you might call it

for a utopia,

but you're paying a pretty penny to skin that

you could,

you could just wait and then do,

because it's Pagani.

Pagani's

have the cool thing where you can buy one and

then send it back.

I'm assuming though, if you're a

bajillionaire, you kind of go,

well, well, one more apartment.

Yeah, I'm doing one of the two.

I'm either buying a car and

getting a flat or buying a flat and getting a car.

The 29th

floor penthouse one spans 12,200 square feet,

7,000 interior, 5,200 outdoor.

You know what, I'll put that in the Tesla

Roadster instead of five of you.

You know, give it to Elon, he'll make your

fly, he'll make your house fly.

He'll send you to that

space.

Next up, Porsche Tunnel Mode patent.

Porsche Tunnel

Mode.

Ta-da-da.

It's a tunnel, it'll put the windows down.

It's the car will put the windows down.

Now, four of you minus two degrees to stop.

What are you doing?

As cool as this all sounds, I don't get it.

No, because it's a choice thing.

No, it's not like a patent.

Even they're like, someone's gonna nick this.

This is the best idea we've ever seen.

They've seen someone else talking about it

and they go, oh, the wind needs to get on that.

Someone drove past the Porsche director at a

tunnel and they watched the window go down,

they went, hold on, if we could automate this.

Hold on, did you do that yourself?

Nah, nah, nah.

We've got to take this out of the hands of people.

Do you train your energy doing that?

Would you like to not do that?

That's ridiculous.

No, because surely there's a button you have

to press to enable it.

Well, I'm assuming it's a modern car,

so I'm assuming it would be a setting in a

menu where it would go like,

do you want tunnel mode on or off?

So you go through all the menus,

spending, I don't know, let's call it 15 to

20 seconds, also finding the menus,

like let's be real, versus clicking the button.

We're in a modern Porsche.

Yeah.

What are you really listening to?

We're listening to the take-habs going to have it.

That's what I mean.

What we hearing is, oh, man,

as the window down gets the Jetsons' noise.

Because most modern cars are ridiculously

quiet or they're just sounding new to anyway.

So are they basically saying?

You can make it a little louder and we'll do

the windows for you.

It just feels like when I read it,

I was like, if this is true,

which I believe it is, how much of money does

a manufacturer have to waste when there are

people sitting in traffic and there's stinky

diesels and

you can hold the button, all of your windows go up.

And

then if you repress it, they will go back to

the exact

level that you had the map, which is very cool.

That makes

sense.

Yeah, exactly.

As a practical, there is a use for

that.

Most people would probably forget that even

is it even exists.

Benjamin has returned to the room.

There is a piece of news out that Porsche has

come out with tunnel mode.

I've actually got, I've got a little

description here of you.

As the car approaches a tunnel,

spotted by GPS cameras or traffic sign

recognition, it gives the driver a heads up

about 500 meters out.

Hit the button and the Porsche transforms

from refined GT to rock concert on wheels.

The exhaust valves open, the transmission

downshifts to spike the revs and the windows

glide down to let every decibel in.

Cold outside, no problem.

It even tweaks the HVAC.

and heated seats so that you can enjoy the

noise and comfort.

So they've thought, they have thought of

everything, if we're being honest.

Here's one for you.

People in normal 9-11, I don't think they

want to do that.

But it's just what I'm saying.

I agree.

A modern 9-11.

But yeah, like it's GT3, GT3 RS is anything

you're actually gonna hear with any.

Now can I custom map it?

Okay, tunnel, fine, tunnel's cool,

everyone likes tunnel.

But imagine you got like a neighbor who you

don't really like.

And it's seven in the morning.

Steve button.

And if you tell it, as seven in the morning

as I go past that house, for opens the

valves, windows down.

Also, yeah.

cameras, I assumed it would just be GPS,

because GPS would kind of roughly know where

most tunnels are.

But sign recognition, it's gonna go around

holding tunnel ahead, signs in front of

people with options.

It just feels, it

almost feels like an April Fools.

Yeah, it does.

Like type of patent, but it's not actually that funny.

I just, I'm not dissing Porsche here.

I love Porsche, but I feel like a normal,

a standard 911 doesn't sound.

That's German fun.

Yeah.

It's tunnel mode, you all like the tunnels,

yeah?

You're good to put, we're going to do it for you,

okay?

This is for us to choose, okay?

You're having fun?

No, let us take over.

We will ask the rest.

Porsche literally said it, if you're having

fun, let us know, let us know.

You don't have to do this.

Let us have fun for you.

I want to admit, when I just thought about

it, I was like, sometimes when a tunnel

approaches, it's a bit of, it's a mad rush.

You go, oh, come, get the window down.

It's very true.

Down again, you've got to put the radio down,

but yeah, it just feels like a little bit far.

It's Jarvis, it goes, a tunnel for you,

sir.

Allow me to open it up.

Would you like the tunnel mode,

sir?

Also, you're basically saying that you're

just gonna speed.

Mm, yeah.

Yeah, 'cause to be fair, most tunnels that

you go through--

There are loads of speed limit.

The speed limit either goes down,

or they will be ultra whack and have an

average speed check.

Yeah.

So they're just saying--

Porsche, mate, go ahead.

Don't worry about it.

It goes down all the gears, but you just go,

nah.

We'll get the ticket on this one.

Have a go.

And maybe in Switzerland, that's beautiful.

You go for a tunnel, you come in,

it's a lovely mountainside.

In the UK, you come in, it's like--

Go across it or like Newport.

Do you know what I mean?

It's not--

Although there are, on the way to Anglesey,

if you're coming from Liverpool,

there are some fantastic tunnels in there.

Some real good ones.

But then you map it in for just that part.

Just that part, if you go near Wales,

on they go.

I love a tunnel.

Tunnel mode.

It's generally all--

Just the nice thing they look great.

Okay, that's interesting.

Great entrance to a tunnel can really get

you--

Like Italy?

Yeah, there's one in the UK,

where is it?

It's round, round.

Is it the one down the A3?

Could be like that.

Yeah, I think when you guys--

On the way to Google it.

Yeah, that's what--

It's round on the outside and you see it and

then you see it average speed check.

Bro describe a tunnel.

It's mental because there was a hill here and

I couldn't get through.

Why are all tunnels round?

Well, you're in the Italian job.

Well, the most of them aren't they?

It depends in the game.

It depends in the twig go from top gear.

(laughing)

What's wrong with?

I don't know.

I just tell them the great, I don't know.

Yeah, yeah.

What we got next?

Let's have another piece of news.

Ben, you put in here, TVR is back,

brackets L.

Now the L is possibly not true anymore

because the original thing, so here's

something I'm gonna say, I put in here--

Ben's misinformation of the week.

Quite possibly.

It's been a while.

This car is a car that we mentioned.

What is it?

I'm about to say-- (laughing)

You've got to be so excited though.

So, TVR, Trevor, Blackpool, making cars of fiberglass.

Of adequate quality.

Of not very good quality, but they are

mental, back in the day.

They then disappeared.

Gone.

And then about

roughly 10 years ago now, they came back and

said, we're making an actual,

not even like a fiberglass single wheels,

an actual car.

Here's a thing.

Big 5 litre V8 in it.

A coyote, I think it was based on the Ford Mustang,

yeah.

Everyone was like, cool man,

sounds good, I'll have an order.

We bought a factory in Wales,

so we need money and we haven't got any,

and then anyway, it never happened.

But they've been bought.

The Griffith, you said you were gonna call,

we say what it was.

The original one was the Griffith back in the day,

right?

Yep, in the '90s.

But yeah, they never came to fruition and

they've been bought again and apparently it's being made.

Yeah, actually?

But it's by an electric car company.

Oh no, no, no.

So the reason I put the L in there is 'cause

the first one I read originally was that they

were going to take that exact design,

that exact concept and put electric motor in it.

This read could not be true,

these kind of rumors is that they plan to

eventually move it like most manufacturers to

electrification, but for now it's gonna be

that exact car with the V8.

I've just asked just AI, which I know a lot

of people were upset by, but 'cause I didn't

wanna spend our searching.

How many times TVR have changed hands like

major, majorly?

It's between five or either five or six major

ownership changes.

That's too many for one every other car.

Like (laughs)

Hold on, sorry, we've gone under for a while.

All right, we'll be back with the Russians.

Look, mate, you'll never guess what's

happened, but just give me a minute.

I don't like this.

I don't either, it's not mental enough.

It's, I don't think it's a bad thing that TVO

are back, but yeah, it's got super vibes or

it's just not--

If I did this, which for those of you

listening, I've just covered the TVR badge,

that's Watchdog's car or G-Cyberster or

something like that, it's just not--

It's too bland, and the thing is,

TVRs are mental, that's the whole thing.

Some of the older ones are out relatively restrained.

Like a server doesn't actually look that weird.

Even the original, original Griffith is--

Yeah, it's a cooler, it's like a split car.

It's not that much to it, it's just that with

a big V8.

But there's an air of adult,

or not even adulthood, it's something that

almost feels corporate about TVR in this new

generation, whereas that never ran with old ones.

It's the guy you knew.

Yeah, he was mental.

And that was always hammered.

And now prison, you know, sometimes he was

bankrupt, he started business,

earned millions, and then he lost it all,

half lost contact with him, and then he's

back and he goes, "Yeah, wife,

two kids, really happy."

Yeah.

And I just got a solid job on it.

Do you want to come up with love?

Yeah, I'll just have half.

I'm out of the water, if I'm honest.

That's what that is.

I'm not, yeah.

There's nothing wrong with it.

The recipe's fantastic.

Exactly.

Oh, you've got a great V8, it's real,

we'll drive, I think it's manual as well.

Yeah.

Front engine, it's all perfect,

but it's all lovely.

It's all lovely.

The recipe, it's not the recipe.

It's the baker.

The baker needs to be higher.

Little bit of coconut.

Yeah, so I'm not against it coming back,

but if we could crank up the,

also don't reuse a name.

Yeah, that I agree with, I think we're like,

you can, once you've established that you can

build cars again, then start bringing it back.

Is he called cool names with TBR?

Can you go with whatever you want?

Call it the Cemingle.

That sounds amazing, for bingers.

I think I'm cool, we've got the Sabra,

they've got cool names and they went,

oh, she's my old ones.

I have another one.

Same thing.

C'mon TBR.

So Griffith wasn't a coupe either.

No, it was a convertible.

No, so, yeah, oh well, anyway,

TBR is back, brackets L.

Now, one thing I was gonna say on it is that

apparently this is the same company that made

a Restomodded 67 Mustang that's electrified,

so they are like somewhat known.

What's their name?

Charge Holdings.

Okay, interesting.

Elle.

Me when someone asked me to describe a battery.

No, that Mustang.

No, tough.

Not a fan, okay, I'm gonna pull up a photo.

But the article I was reading was basically

saying that, obviously, them as a relatively

unknown company, it makes sense to buy TBR

and then--

That makes no sense.

If they can make it on a TBR-style budget,

where it's not one, I don't mean budget,

I mean, in the same way that the old ones

were, where it's a small factory with people

and building them, that's what is,

I don't have hand-built--

Oh, sorry, yeah.

They put it to the low volume on the thing.

Yeah, low volume, then that kind of now

starts making sense to me.

I think that's as a, you know,

as a businessman who's been dealing with

buying car companies for years,

I can say with great authority,

the thing they were doing wrong before was

they're going way too big.

Yeah.

You're trying to start with a bang,

which I understand the amount of money to

invest to make a car company must be astronomical.

Yeah, you need like an lease or something else.

It's like, you know what?

Start small.

Everyone buy this one.

Let's go again.

And then we can build from there.

Then you can have a 7.8 of V12 thing.

Yeah.

Why not based on our platform?

Super-style.

But again, that takes away from the TV.

There'd be enough people that would buy it to get you.

I don't know that they would.

Really?

I don't think they were super sold,

but it didn't.

'Cause it's dead.

It's dead because it's old now.

It was popular, but it didn't sell much.

I don't think it would have the same.

But for a company only saying that one car,

someone's gonna buy that.

Surely.

In a modern time, that is probably the best

way to do it.

I don't actually know if even that might be.

I don't know how much it is for.

There.

Who knows?

None of us know.

None of it is for any of us.

I don't think any of us know either.

Yeah.

Maybe there is an element of TVR.

No one really knows what's going on.

Perhaps it's their part of the cream podcast,

nobody knows anything about anything.

Does anyone know anything?

And they went, "Not clear."

I don't know, man.

They were good start production.

Let's go.

People at the TVR are gonna listen to what we

just said and went, "As news to me."

God, first I've heard, Ben.

We're building cars.

Ben, back to where?

Sorry, what?

It's the middle of the week.

But at the same time, I'm out to every person

who has ever been involved in creating a TVR.

Your God's Med.

And also, why?

That's my other question.

It's the better, man.

Things like, "Why have you got a piece of MDF

behind your dashboard "because you couldn't

make the dashboard fit?"

My fair, completely fair.

Just in people's names on parts.

Yes, yes.

Stephen, it's January 14th on there.

You know when you're halfway through a series

and then it disappears from your UK Netflix

or other streaming service?

And that is when NordVPN comes in.

You can just switch your location and carry

on watching like nothing happened.

It's not just about watching stuff though.

It keeps everything that you do online

private and secure.

It blocks

trackers and malware and you can use it for

up to 10 different devices.

We are both running it on our phones and our laptops.

It's one of those things that you forget is

even on until you actually need it.

If you fancy trying it, go to

nordvpn.com/creampod and you'll get a big

discount on a two year plan plus four extra free months.

And it's risk free with their 30 day money

back guarantee.

So make sure you click the link in the description.

Ben, you've been here.

This is outside of news.

People who don't know how big their car is.

We may have mentioned this before,

but I wholeheartedly believe this.

The biggest issue, this is my rant of the

week, the biggest issue with people driving

is that no one knows how big their car is.

Yeah, cue the comments.

I did crash into one of our videographers cars.

And that's because of the big raindrops.

We've got none of this, okay?

They were big that way.

But what I'm saying is that people on the

road, like, you know, when you're going into

a width restriction or somewhere or

somewhere, for us, it's what we know the wiggly road.

Of course, the road from here,

between here and the motorway,

which is wiggly and it's very tight.

And I go through that on the way back from

the unit and it infuriates me because I'm in

an exercise for somewhat big car.

And there's a person in

Hyundai I-10 who's 14 feet from their side of the road.

And everyone else is fine.

But I believe that the reason people drive

like clowns is because of the fact that they

don't know how big their car is.

And it gets worse at night.

When you send those people out at night or

when, if light has slightly faded,

if a cloud covers the sun, some people go,

well, I can't say a thing.

You know what that is?

It turns into, for them, I imagine it as

either a game or like Bear Gryll's spec where

it's like my current objective is to survive.

This is going to be a treacherous journey.

And my only goal is that I don't die by the

end of it.

So I'm going to slow this right down.

I'm going to make it through.

It's going to be fine.

That's what I feel like it has to be.

I was behind someone in a Tesla recently.

It was a back road.

It was actually it was the Tesla,

someone else, and then me.

And you could feel the frustration because

there was a cue behind me as well where this

person, every time another car came the other

way, they would break.

Normally, I'm kind of used to it.

It still annoys me where people slightly slow

down all they tap the brakes.

But this was like at one

point they went from about 30 to like 15,

10 miles an hour.

And I was like, I'm trying to get the C4 out.

You shouldn't be on the road.

If you're panicked by a thing coming the

other way, you should not be on the road.

Or you should at least go back to school.

Someone teach me to drive.

Yeah.

And what you should learn is the fact that

there are two lanes on the road that they're

not coming into your lane.

Do you think they do it like walking or like

in a supermarket?

Someone comes the other way and goes,

what is it?

Is it slow walkers?

They walkers that everyone finds very frustrating.

But they stop.

They just stop in place and go,

you're going to have to go past me.

Because I can't walk that someone coming out the way.

A much bigger person comes towards them and they stop.

I can't go for it.

The thing I always think about it is,

okay, at any point in your driving,

has your car grown?

Is

it one of those fish things that you put in

the water and they get really big?

Because if your car was within the lines when

you left your house, it's going to be within

them when you get home.

So just stay in them.

And you're

fine.

There's typically a regulation on the road.

It's usually the lane's a sort of size,

wherever you go.

It doesn't just get in slight motorbike width

when you get out on the countryside.

I can get it.

If you're on an a road where it's kind of

single track, like near where we are,

fine.

Be a little bit cautious.

That's how I get it.

But if you are on a road with two lanes,

they're called lanes.

No one's going to go long in the middle of that.

I fancy your lane, the one that's oncoming.

I'm having that deal with it.

I've found people that I know that grew up in

the countryside where they're used to lanes

and stuff are better on lanes and worse at late.

Sorry, better at like squeezing past down

single track lanes, but also worse at lanes.

is in the city.

And then people that I know that grew up in

the city are typically horrific on the lanes,

but in the

city, it's fine, because it's just what you used to.

But I

remember I had a K-leaven micro in my first

car, very small.

And I went to it as a garage car.

Very small.

It's a small.

And I took it to the garage to have some

stuff done to it.

And they gave me Asa Sfera.

Standard Ben Law.

As a Sfera.

And working here, even now, after the cars

we've had, it's still one of the worst cars

I've ever driven in terms of the like

condition of it.

So you didn't get in there and say I could

have one of these?

No, no, you did.

It's quite an interesting handbrake.

But apart from that, I wouldn't.

It was, it was, I'm not out in the garage

here, but I don't believe that was road

should be on the road.

But I drove someone else's car that they dropped in.

It might as well have been.

You've got an M02 failure and you can take that.

But I drove that home and I hadn't driven anything.

as big as that before.

I remember thinking I'm driving a Boeing,

not right, Airbus A380 down this road right now.

I will agree, I remember after passing my

test, that was one of the, not the first

things I struggled with, but that was

something that I remember having to acclimate

to was the width of my car.

Yeah.

I do remember thinking, "Shh,

am I gonna fit through this gap?"

It takes a while to get used to it.

So that's completely fine.

But it's when I see not older people,

the people who I know.

They've got their car a while.

Exactly.

Who have had their car for a long time.

And then secondly, people like that who are

driving like this, and they then decide,

"No, I don't know what their circumstances

are," but they've decided to go and buy a big car.

You didn't need it.

If you're not comfortable driving it,

don't buy one.

Which is fine.

There's nothing wrong with not liking big cars.

There's nothing wrong with it.

I'm getting the next five, the biggest car I've had.

For the first few days, maybe a little bit

more cautious, but you have to learn the dimensions.

You can't just expect it to get easier.

And also, you look around and look around

you, how close you actually to that hedge on your left.

Because if you're 14 feet away...

Because if I'm looking into it,

you're too close.

If I've just had a head on collision with

you, you're too close to my side.

That's what annoyed me about the Tesla.

I know that's a modern car.

It's going to help you out in most of those situations.

It won't let you crash.

Someone's coming the other way.

There's two lanes, and there's two cars.

What will we do?

Where do we go?

I'll tell you for a fact, actually,

I've driven a Tesla Model 3.

It tells you, not only parking sensors on the

screen, you buy inch or centimeters,

exactly how close you are, something.

It'll go like, you are 13 centimeters.

Maybe they don't understand those numbers.

They go, you're 37 feet away,

and they go, Christ!

Here's one, if you're trying to--

(laughing) 10 points near miss.

I would personally, this is just me,

go with the logic of, if the number is

anything above sort of like zero,

you're not going to hit.

This Ben flying past people with one

centimeter gap at 100 miles an hour?

Fine.

I mean, I have gone through things before,

and thought, that was close.

Yeah, of course.

Yeah.

But I don't think, I've only ever clipped a

mirror once, and that's when,

actually, when I was 18, I smashed someone's

mirror off, and I got a drive off.

I ain't got time for it.

But you weren't driving?

No, I was just out of baseball by my bed.

(laughing) I was on the back of someone's bed.

You just punched it off.

Is it an regrettable moment?

In my current age, I would say.

What happens if-- Here's one.

If you clip a wing mirror, but not hit it

off, just clip the edge of it,

it's going to scratch the wing mirror.

What do you do then?

Because is it worth stopping to--

I had a great moment with a van.

But a lot of my commute on the way to Anne

from work, but mainly in my way home,

is really tight back roads, really annoying

when you get an idiot coming the other way.

And there's one part of the road where

there's traffic ahead, so you kind of have to stop.

So I just pulled all the way over,

and the van came through.

I was in the range of-- I completely forgot

that the range of was obviously got

electrical volume mirrors.

I could have just done that.

But I just stared at the van.

And he crept through, just scratched my mirror.

There was still a scratch on there.

scratched the mirror, looked at me,

went-- (laughing) (laughing)

He just had to stroke off.

I was like, okay, I'll fuck you up here.

Sure, I realized he's in a sprint of a van,

he doesn't care.

Yeah, I was like--

When I got back, I saw the scratch on my

mirror, I was like, well, maybe I earned that

one, but fine.

I was, again, I had a similar thing when I was 18.

I was in my Mark IV golf, my mate Pete,

we were on a local back road.

And I'd been on these back roads every day to school.

So I was keeping over to my side.

And they, I can't remember what,

I think it was an A-Class, like an A-180 or

something, came haring round the corner,

way too fast in the middle of the lane.

He tried to swerve, like swerved,

but clipped my mirror.

You both stopped and my mirror,

the glass came out.

I was like, I was pissed.

I was like, what the hell?

We both got out of the car.

He got out screaming, shouting.

And I was like, you hit us, what are you talking about?

And he immediately came over to us and I

picked my glass up and he went,

oh, at least your car's fine.

And he realized that he hadn't looked at his.

He turned around, it was gone.

There was a nub of a mirror left.

He had just shattered into a million pieces.

And he went from being angry to just solemn and sad.

He literally went, oh, my mirror.

And I just clicked my glass back and I went,

have a good one mate.

I'm going to go out and go out and go off and

see your man.

I felt vindicated.

I was so happy.

I think the matter, the impact you have to

stop and just say, I'm sorry.

But realistically, if you're scratching your

mirror, you're going to exchange insurance

details for-- That's what most people would

expect to do.

Yeah, because normal people aren't like us.

They go, anything happens to my car,

got called the insurance.

Which is fine.

That's what insurance is there for.

But enjoy your next premium buddy.

Yeah, premium goes up by two grand a year

because you claim the 30 pound America.

Yeah.

I regret that.

On the Clio, I thought, do you ever notice a

small mark on the bumper?

Which bumper?

Clio, the one I sold you, the silver car that

you've now sold on, to a new buyer who may

have listened to this, to have a look on the

whole bumper.

There's a very small mark, who's got rear

ended in traffic.

When I say rear ended, you know,

when someone just bumps.

we talk, yes.

And then I have another one.

Oh, okay.

It was not interesting.

I said to this, it was like,

I told the person to pull over and it was a

woman and she's wearing a face mask and a

child was in the counter face marks.

And she said, I've just come from the hospital.

And I was like, well, I can't say,

I can't say, let's go through insurance.

I would quite like a rear bumper respray,

actually paid for by your insurer.

But now I've had a sub story.

So I went.

On your way, then, I had a declare.

I don't think you ran your key down.

Now we're even booted a mirror off.

Good luck on the way.

Hold on, let me get my baseball back.

There is a car that

parks somewhat near me that is mashed.

And like, I know

that that's your ex-boy.

But I've seen it in a shop window.

I'm like, yeah, who's that big?

It looks like hitting curbs,

that sort of thing.

And it's got a lot of scratch on it.

And I vigilantly park away from that car.

I don't want to go anywhere near it.

And one day was the clear.

I actually think it's a younger driver.

But the car has been consistently getting

worse and worse.

And I'm not accusing anyone right now because

I don't know.

But I parked near it for the first time in

the clear, like six months ago.

And I came up next morning and I had quite a

big scratch on the rear.

Ben, let me ask you this.

You come up to your car and you see that is

it a female or a male?

The car, I could tell.

Sorry, I don't want to assume.

No, no, the person that owns that car.

I don't know, I don't know.

Okay, let's say it is a man.

You come out to your car one morning and

there's clearly a scratch.

But their car, his car's parked there.

It's reversed in.

And just so happens, they walk out at the

same time and you're like, "What the hell?"

You've clearly crashed in my car.

And they say to you, "I'm really sorry,

it was me.

It was raining last night."

It's so nice.

No, no, but I'm asking you.

Look, they say to you, there were big raindrops.

It appears that what goes around comes around.

But would you say, "I understand that."

Or would you be like, "Look,

I want it fixed."

Listen, I've been there.

I've made up the, I'm out of the lie.

What if you can see they're in a bit of a

rush as well and then they put on this green

jacket and then a backpack and you see a

little cross on the back of it.

I'd say, I've really got to get off.

I'd say, "Good job, you're putt behind me."

Yeah, Ben would jump on his car through it

and reverse it.

You're not going anywhere.

Realistically, I just let it go because I'm

in front of you.

You would, you would.

I think if they walked out, I'd be like,

I don't know what I'd say.

Yeah, I'm not that confrontational,

something I'd say, but I'd probably be like,

"Hello."

No, it's this car, cool.

What's wrong?

It's a thing, isn't it?

Morning.

I'm not too worried.

I think it was the podcast because somebody

crashed into my car.

That car, I didn't really probably get a

problem, but it looks like, here's what I think happened.

We parked that car behind me.

The construction.

Me in front.

Yeah.

I don't know why I have to specify that.

He parked behind me, so I was in front,

which meant he was behind me.

As they pulled out the car parking space,

they just clipped my, it was on my back left,

lower bumper, and it was quite a big scratch.

So, but I looked at the front of their car.

And there was.

As they were behind me, it would make sense.

And there was a scrape there.

I couldn't tell if it was silver.

Like a silvery.

A lighter colour.

Like a Renault badge implanted in it.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Sometimes it's just not worth it.

That's like, for one with the Clio,

I said, look, I'm fine.

All that hassle goes through insurance.

For just this.

When I cleaned the car, I saw that scratch on me.

When you get close to it, you go.

I saw that one was like 50 quid,

so it's not the end of the world.

For me, it's the principle.

For me, I'm careless.

You've got an ill child.

You should be responsible for your actions.

For me, it's about the reaction from the person.

If they go out the car and they go,

I'm really sorry.

Agreed.

Fine.

But if you get out the car and you start getting annoyed.

If they drive off, what would you do?

Would you chase them?

I would.

I'd love it.

But where do you draw the line?

If they run a red, I'm probably not going to.

I'm not going to commit any.

Other side of the road, those all go.

Yeah, sure.

I'll do a barrel off.

If you're on the other side of the road

weaving in and out traffic, they go through a ramp.

All right, right.

Okay, so there's another bit of insight into

our driving habits.

Unless it's at night.

Oh, and then it's fine.

Then I'm with them to the end.

I'll go through the red light.

He's not following me.

Do you think you catch them?

Yeah, I'll put one of them.

Depends what they're in it.

What car are you in?

That's a question for you as well.

You're in the M3.

Okay.

They're in an R6.

No, 'cause the man in an R6 who's willing to

do a hit and run, that's not someone I want

to mess with.

Or you just could drive normally and you

should follow them just in a hedge.

Yeah, it's fine when it's.

Are you catching them?

No, I'm going to guess.

Yes, you are catching them.

Of course I am.

I actually even need to make contact.

I'd make a nice safe sit in the dress.

Will's currently, was on the phone to the police gate.

And it's a left, left, left onto.

I would get lost though.

(laughing)

You go, right, go right, I don't know where

they're going.

The police helicopter?

Helicopter would give me instruction,

I got.

(laughing)

Wait, wait, where we going?

I know where the bag key is,

do I go left or right?

Is it Bean Street?

I don't know where that is.

I don't know where that is.

There's no idea, right?

First wheel response.

For context, we have this thing where we sort

of front hypotheticals to each other and

typically, I mean, I will go out with more of

like a nap, probably not.

Edwin goes out with a genuine like,

analysis and will, no matter what it is,

we'll go.

But what's a good example?

I can't remember.

You can't mention most of the one I said.

But he'd say, for example, that one,

immediately, it's not like, I might not catch them.

One was, how long do you think we would each

get away with criminal activities before getting caught?

And I said, I'd probably mess up somewhat

soon and get caught.

Will said, I'm never getting caught.

They stop nothing, you just believe you would get caught.

Well, that's what, but you need a criminal's...

And they have a belief.

And that's part of the reason they go down.

'Cause they stop believing it.

Wait, my heart was in it

for those first five robberies,

but I took my half the ball.

Never start doing charity, like prison talks.

How do you know I'm already not?

Been crying.

If you start doing, you're ruining it.

If you start doing like prison talks to try

and reform, you're going, "Guys,

you got to believe in yourselves."

You gave up with those crimes.

Get back out there.

Then you do it properly.

Who do you think broke into his house?

Will broke into both houses.

Exactly, me, yeah.

Why don't you go there so quickly?

The perfect crime.

I was there really alone.

I took my car when I'm not stealing that.

You still couldn't find the keys to me.

I'll just steal my girlfriend's purse.

Why not?

Ooh, this is my fantastic Christmas present,

that will be.

I got you another one.

Oh, we got next.

You've got, Ben, you've been here the Bentley

Continental Super Sport.

Yes, I don't know much about this.

Oh, that's great.

Because I'll boost you.

Fantastic way to start a new story.

Hang on, no, 'cause this doesn't really

interest me, but I thought it would interest you guys.

I hate it.

I really don't like it.

It's the new age Continental,

which I already am not the biggest fan of,

but it is then got Los Santos Custom Body

Bods on it.

It's just, it's looking like a Mansory.

Mansory, it's maxed and designs,

it's not Bentley.

Super Sport from the 2005 or '10,

it would be Continental.

It was great.

It was a standard looking Continental,

but with some chunkier grills,

like an R32 style bumper, used a bit more

blocky, a bit more angry.

That's it, that's all you need.

I saw a Super Sport at the NEC classic car

show a couple of weeks ago, and it just

reminded me how much, 'cause a Continental

normal is a bit, you know, it's a bit old-man style.

Yeah, I think they all still think they look

really good on the right wheels,

but the Super Sport, it's just,

and there's not that much to it.

Really?

It's additional.

47:00 Disappearing Cars from the 2000s

Bumper and bonnet.

Bumper the bonnet, I think the light of a

light, I always feel like they do have a

darker center, 'cause my dad bought a crashed

Continental Vert off Copart,

and with that, any stock as everyone does,

the Super Sport from Bumper on it,

it's so much better.

And they had the Veyron seats in the Super

Sport, which is really, really cool.

Cool looking seats.

But now, they've just gone, well,

you know, I guess carbon fiber,

Carson's fires, I'm not a fan of that.

Actually, that was gonna be my one of the

week, which we'll get on to later.

Well, I've got another one.

Attention.

I've got another one.

Attention.

My one of the week is the Bentley Continental.

Guys, you didn't hear anything.

No way, hear anything.

Guys, stick around for later on,

because Will is gonna reveal his one of the week.

Anyway.

Moving on.

Ben, another one from you, you've put in Ford KA.

Right, I was thinking the other day,

I want your whole hearted--

There he is!

Look at how cute that is.

Now, we're saying the first generation Ford

KA--

Ford K.

Or car.

Or car.

I think it is car, right?

It's car, right?

Of which, but it's a KA to mistake.

I would like to discuss this as an example of

a car I'm about to mention.

Is it Ford--

Is it an example of a car?

It's been a very long day.

God, this is a riveting car podcast.

Right, I was thinking the other day about

cars we don't see much anymore.

And a lot of cars from when I was growing up

that I saw just on the road,

it's like we're talking normal traffic here.

Just have disappeared, suddenly.

Ben has discovered the passage of time.

And Ford KA is one of them.

People die?

I haven't seen you in months.

(laughing)

The last 4K I saw was the one that we had on the channel.

And that was a sport, but an actual KA.

He's not seen a KA.

Now here's the thing, I don't believe that's true.

I think you just

don't notice them.

Here's a question for you.

When was the

last time you remember seeing a van on the road?

Today.

No, like remember seeing a van?

Well, I should be fair, well,

I actually care on a corner if I quickly get

me out of here.

Okay, and then after that?

I came back here, so.

But here's the thing.

Delivery driver.

But they go, but realistically,

I was thinking about this, because we're

thinking about buying vans.

They go completely under the radar.

I don't notice a single van on the way to work.

In my head, I go, I don't know,

there's maybe one van every two minutes.

If you just look around, look around right

now if you're driving.

There's four vans that you can see.

Vans everywhere.

They're everywhere.

But they're so, they're so beige,

not beige, but you know what I mean,

that they blend in.

I take your point, but.

I thought about the K, I was like,

I haven't seen one of those for ages.

And I started thinking, a lot of the cars

from the early 2000s have seemed to disappear.

Of course, because they get scrapped.

They've rusted into it.

I know.

What I mean is that it feels like a lot of

cars are disappearing the more the new electric stuff.

I'm seeing so many electric Chinese companies appear.

And not very many old cars.

No, of course.

I think about the Fiat Punto regularly.

But, I've just not, I don't remember the last

one I saw.

But at the same time, do you also not think

it's quite interesting that there seems to be

a handful of ones that just stick around.

I saw--

106s.

What do we see yesterday?

An old, or today, old couple of them on day?

You know, a gen one, one day.

That is peak, that is peak, automobileing.

You just picked a car and said,

"This is my car."

I'm driving this.

A dog, a car, is not just for Christmas.

I'm gonna keep it going into oblivion.

But that, that was an example of we all went,

"Oh, not going on day."

I will see, I think I see probably a 106 a day.

But why is it that they've survived?

Saxos, 106s, Mach 3

and 4 Golfs.

They just, they just stay.

I think they're just coming up over,

they're just coming up over that cusp though

where you just won't anymore.

No, yeah, there was just five fiesta,

the fiesta before the generation of my first car.

Yeah, they're starting to vanish.

Yeah, fair, fair.

Because they've all rusted away,

people scrap them for newer cars,

they're just in that era of,

I ain't keeping that around for them.

And the way that you know that that's

happening is because we see them on,

BCA and Copart because they're getting

chopped in for dealer auctions and they'll

get taken by one of us horrible people and

driven into the ground.

I wanna admit, I do understand that obviously

as time moves on, old cars disappear.

No, I know, it was taking the piss.

But what I'm saying is that I feel like

they've just suddenly disappeared,

'cause when I was, when I was learned to

drive, which would have been six years ago.

Six years old?

Yeah, I got there early.

Six years ago, I felt like there were loads

of these sorts of cars.

In six years, everything from the 2000s just disappeared.

Yeah, it had.

I can hear that, which is.

It's tough.

While I was looking for parts for this golf,

it's actually increasingly harder to find

just breaking cars.

It's now, they were just the parts left.

It used to be everyone has a breaking car

that you can go and nick something off or buy

something off.

Fun enough for the Fiesta, it was kind of

like that, but the parts are so easy to find,

and that's because they're all being broken.

Yeah, they've all been broken,

yeah.

And that's everything, that's ST,

even like ST500, which is a limited edition,

it's like, oh yeah, I'm breaking this,

it's like everything.

The best and the worst are being broken for

bits because they're worth more like that.

Maybe they're going through their current

transition into the grave.

Now this is why I keep--

No, it's not the grave.

This is where they go into their period of,

mmm, this is probably worth buying one,

having a nice one.

Wow, 4.25.

Well, stuff like that, I think you're

normally a bit of a dreamer when I always say

a one mile Fiesta style, it's like,

why have you been keeping hold of this so

long, just use it, but the rarer they become,

like a Fiesta ST, I actually thought I might

buy one of those as a little runaround type

thing, but they are actually incredibly hard

to find a good one.

They're either very rusty, or the engine is

broken, or they've been modified badly,

so actually finding a good one becomes way

harder than it was 5.10 years ago.

The sport KA, there was one for sale,

and it was a right off a grand,

and there was another one that was not that

much better, but they wanted seven grand

five, which is some ridiculous,

I'm afraid, so it's like there's,

I don't get it, but I wanna be honest.

Sad.

Next.

I'll be owning them.

A couple of news is that we can perhaps smash

out in one.

I don't know why, but I'm gonna combine them.

Let's do it.

Number one, the Ford Focus is finished,

and number two, here's a tease,

and it's a busy returns, but let's start with Focus.

Oh, the retention, okay.

The Ford Focus we already know was going,

the news on that is that it's gone.

Yeah.

The ST was dead, but they were carrying on

with the normal Focus.

Another Focus, I believe the last one was

rolled off the pluck.

But that is of the generation or the model?

I think of the model.

I think of the model.

Yeah, they haven't announced the replay.

Yeah, I don't think it's much news to just

announce the final generation what it's got.

I think it is the car.

Yeah, no, the Focus is done,

which is sad.

Which is, it's not like it's the model,

obviously, that it's been replaced before,

it was the Escort, it was the Sierra,

but we're not gonna get a...

We're not gonna get a...

Focus is the small medium size hatchback I

grew up with, the Ford era.

We always have to think about that,

we always do.

But reading about that, it's had me looking

at folk, we'll get to the one of the week later on.

Stop, but...

Oh, is it a Ford Focus 1.6 ZTech,

not one?

Hey, my quads are great, they are actually

really fun to drive.

Is that what Ethan has in the car for?

Correct, yeah.

Really fun to drive.

They get an unbelievable amount of praise

for, like, chassis and stuff.

It's crazy.

It's like Chris Harris articles and people

going, it's just...

It's the standard by which cars should be

jabbed or something.

I also, by fancy reading it.

We take one of these in.

My favorite thing about it is that you read,

like, compared to its competitors,

like, say, an RS or something,

RS is a like, its boot space is commendable.

And then that's it.

Meanwhile, Mark-Con Focus RS is a,

sorry, just Mark-Con Focus is...

The mechanical grip as you turn in with the

focus is great.

I don't know what it is, there's something

about the Mark-Con Focus there,

it's like this golden boy.

Yeah, it's been mistaken for a GT3 RS.

You cannot beat this.

Base spec, it's like this is unbeatable.

To be fair, driving the one from Car

operator, which was a, I think it was one six.

I think it was a one six.

I think it was a one six Z tech.

Like it was fun to drive, it was more fun

than the Golf.

Yeah.

Like it was good to chuck around.

I'm Ford man.

I've been there since the beginning,

they've rusted a bit, but it's fine.

Meanwhile Ford getting rid of everyone of

your favorite Ford.

Yes, no, as I'm saying.

Come by see you.

But most of my favorite Ford's are older

anyway, so I'm kind of cool with it.

So from Ford to Mr.

Bishy,

Mr.

Bishy, that under that cover is apparently a Mr.

Bishy, it looks like any other Mr.

Bishy I've ever seen ever in the world.

Mr.

Bishy have announced, I mean,

to be fair, I don't know when they announced

that they're gone.

Well, the only way that I found out was when

I think I've mentioned on the podcast,

when I was looking for Evo parts.

Yeah.

And every Mr.

Bishy dealer in the UK was closed.

'Cause there's one not far from here.

Yeah, gone.

Yeah.

'Cause I said that, 'cause that was where I

went for a recall there.

And they looked at me with a modified Evo and

went, what are you doing?

What's this?

But yeah, so Mr.

Bishy, they're back.

They're coming back in summer 2026,

but the thing under the cover is not filling

me with joy.

Summer's gonna be so lit.

It's big.

Well, for people listening, it's big.

It looks like L200 or was in Outland or that

kind of--

It is crossover.

A Clips Cross, is that the--

Do they make that now?

There was a rumor about an Evo because there

has recently been a rumor or perhaps even

some leaked sort of news about an Impreza

coming back like some sort of WRX STI

hatchback type thing coming back,

but that's electric.

Everything as it all sounds.

It's not.

Yes.

It's just not exciting, is it?

The Evos everyone wants aren't gonna be brand

spanking new.

They're gonna be 25 years old.

No more 4G63s.

It's just not happening.

They got it.

They're not.

I'm not having an Impreza that makes no noise.

No.

It's going, boom, boom, boom,

boom, boom, boom, boom.

Can I get--

I'm staring into a hedge.

An equal electric light.

Yeah, exactly.

So, interesting that they're coming back,

but is it actually that I just think if

you're not a balding middle-aged gray human,

No, I mean, well, within, I want to spy that.

Is that what it's for?

Oh, well.

Yeah, I mean, well, some balding middle-aged

men possibly listening to this are going,

"Oh, the perfect car for me."

Oh, Richard Porter book.

Oh, hell yeah.

We've got a note that I would admit,

Richard, your handwriting is as poor as mine.

Perhaps a doctor.

Yeah.

For a writer, writing not your forte perhaps.

For the physical writing.

Put them on a computer and then that man is.

What have we got?

We've got a letter and book,

which is petrified.

It's good, I've been reading through that.

I've got like a quarter or a half way through it.

It's quite good.

You have, it's like, it's columns from Evo

stuff, all of it's Evo stuff.

Which are very funny.

There are some car-based, there are some non-car-based.

Yeah, don't think of it as like,

it's not just like straight up car reviews.

It's not, it's not just the forte like this.

The fantastic chassis.

Fantastic chassis.

Yeah, I'm gonna start calling Ben for Focus Mark on.

We did read this.

Fantastic.

Fantastic.

You creamy lovelies.

I've got a new book out, basically a load of

nerdy bollocks, so I thought you might like it.

Keep up the great work, Richard P.S.

These nose-blowing, fart confusion in a

Scotsman's bog almost caused me to crash into

the central reservation on the M5.

Bastards.

Now, just before that, could you say,

did that say keep up the great work,

Richard?

Would that have happened to him?

(laughing)

You mean, mid-lether.

58:27 Richard Porter's Letter and Book

You had to give yourself a quick A talk.

You're doing great.

Don't give up on this writing stuff.

You're doing great.

You will get there.

But also, I like the penance,

I'm not trying to dig out, because it's Richard Porter.

Yeah.

He's the best guest we've had and he's the

writer for Top Gear,

I was expecting calligraphy.

(laughing)

A wax seal and a scroll.

I wanted to defend him very briefly because

if you look at where he wrote Creamy

Lovelies, that is, it almost looks like,

how he's written Richard, it almost looks

like it's purposeful.

Wow, he gave Cream and Richard the two,

the rest of his eyes make it look like an

email, where they have, it just fills in the

gap, where it just says, hello,

you smith and sniffy boys.

Yeah, it makes Richard, and then the note is just random.

Yeah, it looks like that's happened to get it right.

It just happened to get it right.

I like the why on Creamy, anyway,

when I'm writing it too deeply.

Nice, Troy Richard, we know that was chat GPT.

(laughing)

He wrote it on there, but yeah,

we have the books, that's very cool.

I'm gonna finish it, then it's over to Will.

I can't read, Ben laughing, so I said I'm gonna finish.

(laughing) Okay, yeah, sure,

laughing.

I laughed at something else I was thinking about.

My biggest question is, why does Rich Porter

listen to this and to anyone else?

Yeah, that's actually fair.

He's gonna skip through this and go,

I'll just give it the book back.

Yeah, I'll have the book back.

(laughing) Ben, you've got one here,

this isn't the news, this is a thought.

Drive through mechanic, is this a thought or you're sure?

Yes, I've been to ages ago and we never

actually got to it, but it is,

here's my business pitch.

I think you use this.

You have a wheel bearing, it's gone,

you have something else that's gone,

I don't know what else there is.

Where's all your parts going for your car?

Engine's broken, you're stealing it.

I don't want to go to the garage,

it's annoying, I don't want to go in there

and I don't want to have to then,

you know, like wait a line and then say how

my car say they go cool, here's Zafira,

drive it home, it's got no tires,

whatever.

I want to sit in my car, maybe I've got

awesome chicken nuggets from last week.

Yeah, yep, yep.

And I pull up and he does my wheel bearing.

Okay, while you're in it.

Yeah, now that's interesting.

A, I'm thinking the health and safety might

be not a fan of you being a lift,

Yeah, but if you put the car on the lift

correctly, it's somewhat similar.

Anyway, let's say nice to go,

let me just move the steering wheel.

Yeah, or there's a fire and you are,

if everyone leaves for lunch,

perhaps, and you're slack.

Yeah, but I'm talking about just,

with that logic, we can't do anything up with it.

I do think, drive through servicing,

Gary, just do exist.

Yes, and there's a simple, very perfect thing in America.

I think there's a couple here.

I remember when I used to live in

Northampton, there used to be something like

that, where it was like, drive in,

drive through, but I don't think you were in it.

Drive through in sort of name,

it's not much Donald's.

You know, it goes to the first window and

they go, "I'll have a wheel bearing,

I'll have a full service."

They take it off.

Actually made it a major service.

Do you want to, I'll have a service,

made them a large, large, large.

They take the oil out.

Yes, please.

The oil comes out on the first service,

and then they go, "Right, just pull around

the next window and we'll put the oil out here."

Be quick, be quick, be quick.

We'll actually go anywhere, can you go park

in the bay out the front and we'll be out in a bit.

But that's the bigger thing.

You have seen, you've seen that.

Fast work on cars, things go wrong.

The professionals, not you guys.

No, it happens to the best of us.

I think this.

I do think that there should be a better way

of booking in cars at Gary.

There is a thing that I saw the other day

that is why don't night shift garages exist,

where you fell up at six in the afternoon,

you drop a car off, and the next morning,

your car's done.

That is so great.

Now it sounds great, doesn't it?

But now how when something breaks,

where do you get the parts from?

It's closed.

It's the night shift part shop.

But the thing is, so it's like servicing a

GSF at night, they can swear in there.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Half nine p.m.

and half the water shaft.

They say you want this fucking wheel bearing

mate, come get it.

Extra business for them though.

Absolutely.

They say we're open overnight,

and that's because that's when we're on the

great--

24/7, your car parts.

How has 24/7 mechanic not been a thing?

We can create--

You can book online.

We can create a whole economy,

because you can have the 24 hour part shops,

the 24 hour--

24 hour.

24 hour.

You can have twice the work--

Ben just came out with the night shift.

Hold on.

24 hours.

You can employ twice many people.

You've got a night shift, guys.

Twice as many people.

Twice as many people.

No, Ben, why are we doing that?

Let's just make him work 24 hours.

Let's have midnight car sales as well.

You can sell cars.

You can even drive at night.

So petrol station's all night.

You can even do this.

Okay, hold on.

Ben has only unlocked night mode recently.

It's got to four p.m.

in the UK.

It got dark in the way.

Can't go.

I'm stuck.

How about street lights?

Street lights.

I think the drive-thru mechanics would be a good shout.

I don't.

Here's my second option.

You know that you take a car's mechanic,

right?

It's going to take two hours.

It's not your whole day.

Bum.

It's a bit annoying to have to sit around for two hours.

Sleep pods.

You know, like the weird fancy modern sleep

pod you get in like offices that people have?

Okay.

Google, HQ, I think I saw it once.

Or you can go for a nap.

That's what I do.

Okay, but the thing is usually if you're

dropping your car off, you've probably agreed

with work that either you're going to drop it

off and then come kind of straight back.

If I saw my employee come back in his full

pajamas holding one of those little candles

in the cup, I'd be like, "Sorry,

I'm sorry."

Did you, where were you?

And you go, "I was at the mechanic."

I'd go, "I'm firing you, you're lying to me."

Yeah, but make up the time.

I'm just going to go and get a wheel bearing done.

Why do you have an overnight bag?

I'm going to go get my car fixed,

call you off for this.

I got your toothbrush.

No, I need my toothbrush.

No, here's my next question,

I thought, right?

If none of that works, here's what we'll do.

We'll pull up at the garage.

No time, garages.

At the garage and the day.

Yeah.

And then in return for your car,

they'll give you a little loan car and you

can get around there.

Now that is what lots of garages do.

I think that would work well.

Okay, so we've come full circle.

All right, so what we're saying is you're

completely fine with how the current kind of

ecosystem of garages work.

No, I'm not, I'm saying that I think if it

was a drive-through, I'm not saying we do an

engine as well.

I don't think drive-through,

I just don't think it.

Now, possibly.

Now, how about this?

You drive onto like a car wash conveyor belt

that it's, it has to be done by the time you

get through the garage to the end,

your car's ready.

But is a man doing it.

Is a man doing it.

Okay, it's like a reverse car assembly plant.

It's a car disassembly plant where they're

taking your wheel bearing off,

taking your wheel one on.

But you could do brakes, wheel bearings,

servicing.

I'm not saying it's, we're doing like,

you know, engine.

That's why you want it to be a factory.

Now, this is what a lot of, three build the whole car.

A lot of mechanics are gonna mention this in

the, in the comments, is that working on a

car that is hot is hell.

If you're doing a drive through mechanic,

sort of thing, that's tough.

Fine, oven gloves.

So you're just in it running.

No, I'm just gonna turn it off on.

So you're just sat there in silence.

Sorry mate, can I turn the, can I get my music on?

I'm gonna sit on it.

I'm doing your battery mate.

I'm doing wiring.

Please don't.

I'm gonna sit on Instagram Reels for an hour

and I'm gonna do them scroll.

I just, I know what, I think it's idiotic if

I'll be on it.

I'm honest.

I will not be investing in it.

No, I'm out.

But I do believe that there should be a

better way to book in with mechanics and stuff.

I understand it's all more, you know,

like how you can go and book a quick fit on

wherever and they go, be there at 9.30,

you get at 9.30 and they go,

what, you want to, 9.30?

That's not happening.

We'll see you in a few hours mate.

We're gonna rig, air con regas or whatever.

I've only ever seen it with my local mechanic

who I take most of my stuff through ignition,

most of what, in Newbury.

They have an online booking for MOT stuff.

Yeah.

There's a cool one, find the time and click on it.

Why is it, I have a garage that I call when

they go Monday, I can do 3.45 A.M.

Tuesday fully booked, Wednesday,

if you turn off at midnight,

we might fit you in.

What's the point in this?

Ben.

(laughs)

Is that the middle of the night?

Now, my question is, why don't you do it like

restaurants?

Okay, table two.

Or, or, or, or like, like, you know,

when you go to this moment, I lost some

people in an outburger.

Yeah, in the US.

They have a drive-through system.

Wait, why do we know that?

When we went there?

Whereabouts?

I think we were in--

Was it New York or something?

No, it was the US, for sure.

California?

Yep, you want to--

That's the one.

Sorry, carry on.

Yeah, we went to an outburger,

and rather than this, America might be going,

that's how it works.

In the UK, we have a, a, a, a speaker that sits there.

This place--

Like in Mr.

Speaker or--

Mr.

Speaker.

And, but in the US, they had a person with an iPad.

You could drive up the person and go,

"Oh, an oil change."

I want you to spend shit on this,

and they type it into the iPad,

and then--

Yeah.

And you go.

Okay.

What?

Rather than driving in and telling them what

you want, like McDonald's, you,

you, pre-getful.

But also, but here's the other thing,

right?

You are then saying that you know what it needs.

Yeah, exactly, which most people have,

which most people go into mechanic,

they go, "My comic noise fits."

Okay, then that person with the iPad is the

one that inspects it.

They do a quick walk around,

they go--

20, what?

I'm not on the, I'm not on the road.

(laughing)

No, like, hey, bye.

People around it.

Shit, how about I hate that one?

(laughing) Right.

Ties are old, right, cool.

Okay.

I just, I don't think you can fix this one.

I think you'll lose a lot of money doing this.

Fine.

Although, all Mr.

Fett himself, Mr.

Quick Fett, might be listening and going,

"Get this boy in charge."

This guy knows what's up.

No, it's not happening, is it?

There are a couple of quite good websites out

there where you can book in,

and it just says pick a time or whatever.

Yeah, it's great, but I don't think it's common enough.

No.

Maybe it's 'cause I know, again,

I understand it's more nuanced to than that,

where it's like, I don't wanna just say,

"Yeah, I'll get your car fixed at nine."

'Cause then you're gonna have people going,

"Well, I bought it in at nine-30."

I brought mine to it.

You said it would take half an hour,

that's what they asked.

So you are asking for a refreshed head gasket?

I'm gonna say, go wait in the bay outside,

we'll bring your food out when you're ready,

but it's cars.

But it's cars is from the food.

It's used oil.

You're gonna do it at McDonald's now?

You're gonna put up at McDonald's and go,

"Do you know what?

"Could you do a full service?"

So your chicken nuggets the best car.

Best food.

True.

Driving food.

Next up, speaking of Monterey,

somewhere where we went to.

I believe we're about to talk about it on the

podcast, but we're searching for someone.

It's a very important person.

He means a lot to us.

We must find Mr.

Bugger.

(laughs)

Okay, so when we were in Monterey,

there was a show called Zotix on Broadway,

which is a part kind of just out of town.

Now, on one of the back streets,

we had parked up, we then got back in the

car, and while we were leaving,

there was a car parked up on the side of the street.

I want to say, it was like a maximal.

I think it was either a maximal or an infinity Q45.

And it had the plate, 'cause obviously in

America, you can have whatever you want on

your plate, you can write words with spaces and things.

And it was the plate.

Mr.

Bugger.

It was B-U-G-G-A, I believe,

so not like full English, but still.

Yeah, it was either.

But still.

Yeah, so--

But Edwin said that is the most British man.

That is Mr.

Bugger.

Mr.

Bugger.

(laughs)

So it's been a running joke since that

moment, since that inception.

of Will just, I will call Ben every morning

and say, "Mr.

Bugger, how are we doing?"

But we now need a photo, because we need to

make sure that we are not going crazy.

He must exist.

I think he's local to the area.

So if you're local to the area of,

I think it's ocean side or seaside.

Was that in the downtown bit?

No, I know exactly.

I can tell you the street was on.

I'm sure we can actually find it on Google Maps.

I'll do some research tonight.

'Cause my undiagnosed something helps me with that.

Mr.

Bugger, and it didn't help when we did the

full model TV video because we were wearing

top hats and mimes.

So we just kept walking and going,

"Mr.

Bugger!"

to each other.

'Cause to an American, whatever it means to

an American, it may not be exactly the same

as what we're thinking of.

If you're a bit of a Bugger,

it's not the same.

That's not a positive thing.

Glad to be.

So we need to find Mr.

Bugger.

If you see the car, don't harass them.

The chances are slim, but still,

yeah, if you do see it.

No, we're finding Mr.

Bugger.

Oh, no, of course we will.

And if not, we'll be finding him next year.

I think he'll be swarmed.

I'll be going next year.

Oh, absolutely, we're going next year.

Where are we going?

This place was our first time,

so I don't know what to do.

Never been.

I'm just looking on Google Maps.

Another one I'm looking for,

what are you doing?

Another person

that we're searching for, who's also a

Monterey, a place

that we went to, we went to Carmel,

which is where things

go down.

So it was our haunt, we would just check out

before we headed back to our,

to our hovel.

There was an FATM3.

FATM3, parked into the disabled space,

no less.

In Carmel, parked up most days that we were there.

Yep.

And we don't know what color it is.

No.

Which is, it's not, it's like a dark metallic

blue, but not flat dark, it was rich enough

that you could tell it was blue in any light.

Yeah, so it's not Tanzanite blue.

It's not Tanzanite blue, it's not Tanzanite

blue, but it was a bit deeper than interlargos.

Yes, it was somewhere in the middle of that.

We need your help because this is torturing us.

I need to know, because not only that,

it was sat perfectly.

Oh, it was lovely.

It was just stunning.

If you know this person, if you've seen this

person, just tell us the color.

If I find out it's a wrap, I'm gonna be

deeply upset, but at least the mind,

my mind will be put to rest because I think

about it daily.

Perhaps when you're on the hunt for Mr.

Bahia.

Maybe they're the same person.

It could be.

It's all great conspiracy.

We'll find Mr.

Bahia and he'll go, "Oh, man,

that ain't 80 M3 outside.

"Look at that plate."

Of course I know him, he's me.

(laughing)

So yeah, two very random tangents on the

side, but we thought we'd put that on your

radar because at some point Mr.

Bahia was gonna come out accidentally.

Right, shall we end on a want of the week?

We can.

Now, I've been wanting lots of things

recently and obviously I meant the Bentley

Continental GT Super Sport or just a GT to be fair.

I just want one.

That on the Mull in the wheels,

very lovely, but they're scary.

But the other thing, I keep looking at lots of fords.

I want a ford of oldness.

I was looking at XR2's, XR2 eyes,

Mokchi Focus RS has a place in my soul and I

feel like I need to, an ultimate green one.

Also, sorry, ignore that for a moment.

What is that?

Sorry, ignore that, thanks.

So many fords that I've been looking at,

but I just desire.

I did ask Ali Barbar if I could buy a escort

chassis.

Yes, and they said yes, but also no.

Apologies,

I've just typed the word forward in.

Which one, what is it?

Let's have a look at Focus RS Mok2,

please, 'cause again, I just feel like there's one.

One in my future.

Focus RS Mok2, come on down.

Now here's a question, for those of you that

don't know, the Mok2 Focus RS comes in,

Ultimate Green, Performance Blue and Frozen White.

Frozen White.

Frozen White.

Those are the only colors, only apart from

the RS 500, which was Panther Black wrap.

With 3M Black wrap.

What would you like?

I would have an Ultimate Green.

That's what you'd like, because I've sort of

had the other two colors.

Well, explain what you mean by that.

I had a replica ST with an RS body kit,

that was--

And we have a bit of snap screen,

including the gearbox on the bit.

But the ultimate green one is the ultimate green.

It's ultimate green.

It's ultimate green.

It is a little bit lurid.

That is larry.

It is ultimately larry.

It is ultimately green.

It's chav 9000, but it's the best way.

I just want one of those modified in a

slightly scammy way.

If you're going to do it though,

you might as well

go the whole whole--

That's what I'm saying.

You know

what I want to know, is our mark two RS is as

chavvy in Europe, because take for instance

a, like an E46 M3.

Yeah.

It's Germany, it's either a track car,

it's like a really nice clean,

you know, sort of one.

They're on any scumbags in them.

Whereas in the UK, if you're a mark two RS

only, you know you are a scumbag.

You either got 400 miles on it,

and that's it.

Or it's got Lamborghini doors.

Yeah, it's got air tech up the side.

Exactly.

And your king clown.

But I love you, but you are a clown.

But does that exist in like Germany?

I don't know.

I mean, I haven't seen that many,

but I mean, I'm not German.

I was just saying like in Europe,

where they have, they have marked two RS's.

If we have European followers,

which I believe we do.

That says that way.

Does that say so?

Please tell us, like what is your initial

thought to be a car like that?

'Cause mine is interaction.

Like I have been.

And then it's, ooh.

I have a feeling, 'cause I've seen a few over

in Holland, and they're just normal,

they're just stock.

I think it's like how someone just enjoys a one N.

Yeah.

Where it's like a special thing that they're

like, that's just my car.

I don't know about one of those as well.

One M's cool.

Yeah.

Mark Juan RS is as well, 'cause I actually,

I still think Mark Juan RS is an incredibly

good, they're obviously expensive for what they are.

I will have a sub 20 grand.

I will.

I've seen, there was one sort of auction the

other day, collecting cars auction,

I think, it was 60,000 miles,

I don't know what the condition of it was,

it might be rusty.

But 60,000 miles, it sold for 18 grand.

I will own, it needs to be a mashed up one,

because I don't think that that is a 20 grand car.

I couldn't justify it.

That's like an up to 10 grand car.

But you never lose it.

No, I know, but it would make me,

I feel hurt that I had that much money invested into.

A mark on focus though.

It has one of the most incredible shots.

I also feel like I would prefer a modified one.

It's the same as driving an Escort Cosworth

or a Sierra Cosworth or something like that,

of that ilk risk.

If you drive a bone stock one,

people set up when they drive any 30 M3.

Everyone goes, "This is the greatest car ever."

And then someone drives a standard one and

goes, "This is kind of, it's so,

it's nice."

It's not all that.

Okay, what about a mark on Escort?

Yeah, okay.

But mark, you want one of those as well?

Again, mark to Escort, but again,

if I wouldn't, like an RS-1800 or whatever,

something like that, of that,

where it's like the ultimate version,

I'd rather have a modified one.

Agreed.

Which is probably a good thing,

actually, because it means that you could go

and buy one, you don't care about the history.

No.

Matching Vins, and it's got the right

headrest, and it's got all these headlights

from a 79, not from an 80.

Yes.

You can just build it as you want.

It doesn't matter when I skid it into a bush.

Exactly.

Is that your one to the week?

So that's yours?

Ford Focus RS Mark II, Ford or otherwise.

Ford or otherwise.

Ford or a Bentley Continental Surface Pause.

Ford or similar.

Ford or similar, rental company.

Benjamin, I have one.

And I'll be honest with you,

for the listeners, I've had it before,

but it's come back again.

It's a Nissan GCR.

Oh, okay.

'Cause I was at a petrol station the other

day, as I frequently am, 'cause I never

filled up enough fuel.

Day time though, only day time.

Yeah, well actually this way it got dark,

but I was on the way home.

Bloody hell, they should open those.

They should, well this one must be the first place kind.

There was a really quite nice R35 Nissan GTR.

Which one?

Early boy.

Okay, how early?

Early.

Plate.

It was probably like other.

No, nine.

Yeah, one of the first ones.

Is this your card?

Yeah, or maybe the first face lift.

No, well that's great, isn't it?

I've already pulled the photo up.

Well, that's the same print person.

One of those, and it had quite a nice set of

pipes on it.

Oh, and the exhaust too.

Yeah, that was great.

I stood outside the car and I had to finish.

Outside the GTR, I finished filling up.

I finished filling up and I lingered by my car.

I played because I was waiting to hear it drive off.

I didn't do a pull, but it sounded like it

already purred from, ah, I just,

I want one.

Do you know what I thought the other day,

when I saw a photo of an R-35,

is that they have one of the most unique

shapes of car.

Like, if you compare it to what it gets

compared to like a 911, 911 is maybe one of

the other ones where it's a,

you know a 911.

Yeah, you know that silhouette.

But that roof line, and that front fender

line, front wing line, is so unlike anything else.

It is a truly quite pretty car.

I would have never called them that.

Because they're not that fussy to look at.

No, they're not.

They're more modern stuff.

It's that roof line.

It looks, I don't know, it looks like a 1950s

drawing of a futuristic car.

Yeah, the future.

It will be flying in space.

And Elon Musk.

And they say it will be bade for 20 years.

That hasn't aged, in my opinion.

I think if that counts down,

I mean a few little tweaks, but it would look basic.

I think the super early one,

if you sit in a super, or early one,

I haven't.

But they do, they are a little bit aged.

'Cause the early ones, they've got like

orange lighting in the dial,

there's just some, there's certain bits in

there that you go, but there's still,

but like a 2010 or 2011, 2012 onwards.

But that's not what I want.

You want an early guy.

No, I want a 2017.

First year, you're on E.

But can you pull that out, please?

What's that, sorry?

2017 GTR.

Do you see one in your future?

I do.

No, there has to be one.

We'll show them your palms.

I would buy another one.

Yeah, there has to be one.

I know this is before on the podcast,

if I, you know--

Can we get them with me?

When my time comes, and I have an,

if I have an own one.

That is scary.

Where can you bend by when?

I don't.

Please.

Tomorrow.

I can't afford it.

Next week.

I love that.

Next year.

End of next year.

1:19:15 Wants of the Week

No.

End of 2027.

That's next year.

No, it's not, it's two years away.

I don't think it's gonna happen by then.

But I will have one at some point because,

'cause, 'cause, man.

You want one.

Would you have a cover?

Would you maybe say like, it's what you want this week?

It's my one of the week.

Oh, that's interesting.

Is it deeper than that though?

You want it this week, 'cause it's not freezing.

'Cause it's not fleeting, it's not just

flying by the mind.

It's up there for me, alongside.

He's just there.

The 12 vintage that and the 911.

Do you know what?

It's something I, I can't remember if we

talked about at some point, maybe towards the

beginning of one of the week,

that if you're truly afflicted by cars,

you will know this pain of, some cars have a

fleeting one.

They are, I'd love one of those.

And then by next week, and you're like,

I'm gonna research everything about them.

I'm gonna work out which one I should buy,

what cars on the market, there are.

And then one week later, you go,

yeah.

I still like it, if I see what I'm happy,

but I don't want to buy one that much.

But then there are some cars which remain forever.

It's just sit in your brain and go,

this is yours Ben.

I'm not just in anywhere.

That's probably the car I've wanted the longest.

Maybe an event door from when I was younger,

'cause it's the Lamborghini you grew up with.

I think I don't have an affliction for that.

In this color.

No, I'd quite like a black one.

I'd quite like it.

I think we've had the--

Yep, I would round.

Those wheels.

Brown.

Brown interior, 'cause that generation that I

faced with came from a really nice saddle

brown interior, which Will does look like.

Yeah, really nice.

That's great.

So it's disgusting.

No, it's sporty, that's fine.

Is that your one of the week of my life?

Okay, fine.

Mine, as I accidentally opened,

well, this is one of them.

I saw this come up and it, that's just one of

the coolest things in the world.

A Sierra Sapphire Cosworth is one of my

all-time things I want.

I want, as I've said before,

to ram raid it into a shop.

I want to commit burglaries.

I want to outrun the police in their metros,

brackets.

They're gonna pitman over me in a three series.

They're not, Will.

Will go away.

But this one is something special.

This is coming up at an auction soon and it

is a bright yellow.

Like what, there is a name for that yellow.

It's not Canary Yellow, is it Canary Yellow?

It's a factory color?

No, no, no, no, I think this has been painted.

But it's a modified car.

And it has, I think they're TSW wheels

looking touring car as hell with Moretz.

Moretz is perfect.

This car by four?

Is that a vent?

I can't remember.

Sorry for audio lessons.

I think vents is what we're seeing.

You can't see the car.

It's all yellow.

The wheels are yellow.

Everything's yellow.

Everything's yellow.

It's yellow body, yellow wheels,

yellow engine.

Now, something I didn't check was the rear.

Sorry, I'm just double checking quickly.

Sorry, I know this isn't very good for audio lessons.

I'm just looking for, oh, I don't see an exhaust tip.

Oh, no, don't tell me it's got a side exit.

Is it a side exit?

I think that might, okay, that's quite interesting.

I think that is a side exit.

That's a side exit.

That's a bit of Sierra Classic.

That's really quite cool.

So yeah, I want a Sierra Cosworth,

but in more real lands, I want the Ranger of a Classic.

I have decided I will be buying a Ranger of a Classic.

A blue or black car.

I just want one.

I need one.

I need two.

Would you accept any other color?

No, no.

Well, that dark blue.

No, Plymouth blue.

Are there other kinds of,

No shades of black.

But are there any other cars you want?

You say it's beluga black, but is that,

would you take, would they come in different

black cars in just that one?

No, basically beluga black is the only one

that you have, which is, and I,

before I would have probably said yes,

but I did it on my eight series,

the eight series I bought is a color called

Cosmos Grey, which is a super dark black,

but when the sun hits it goes to a grey,

I hate it.

I hate that color.

I want it to be black, I want it to be

glossed yet black,

No, not that, I just want a deep,

a deep color black.

I don't like ones that shift.

What's the interior and what are the wheels?

It's brown, it's a super dark brown color,

and the wheels are often LSE or CSK.

And what color are they?

Those are black centers on a polished rim.

Oh, not on a polished rim.

I've got a photo here.

So this, towards the end of a range of a

classic production, they made a long wheel

base version, called an LSE,

which I don't actually like the long wheel base.

The proportions look weird, it looks like a

weird limo, but they have these five spoke

wheels, which were the same as the CSK,

which is the two door that they made right

towards the end of production.

And I just love it, I just love it.

It's just so, I feel right.

My friend, as I mentioned before,

Will, who's buying the Evo off me,

he runs a Land Rover specialist company,

and I've driven his classic multiple times.

Defenders, I'm not, I'm not more,

but I don't, I don't can't do it,

but an old Range Rover.

That's different.

God, I feel, I don't think there's anything

in this world.

I feel more right inside of,

that's tough.

Not me at night.

Don't take that out of contact,

that's not.

I think you're right about color,

about, well, about the black anyway.

It just has to be.

It would be difficult for that not to be.

Sorry, there is one other option,

and that is our Den Green, which is the super

deep green color, almost like a Malashite color.

Sorry, I know there's a lot of people that

don't understand colors who are like wanting to.

You've been there.

I think it's wrong.

You've got the M3, that's your green guy.

I think you've got, otherwise then you look a

bit like green car man.

Oh, green, no, I can hear that.

Show me.

And it's a second choice, which,

for me, with cars hard to find,

or are den greens actually quite hard to find?

Whereas a blue or black is more semi-findable.

There are a few out there.

Hopefully.

I agree.

Coming weeks, there will be a blue or black.

Wow, you're saying it's imminent.

I want to buy one.

Okay.

I was gonna buy that one.

The one that I got offered, I was gonna buy it.

No, stop.

This is your logic here.

Don't say you want to.

What's happening?

I already said I'm buying one.

But don't say you're gonna buy one.

No, say you're gonna buy one.

Say there is one coming soon.

No, it's happening.

It's happening like this week.

Maybe by the time the podcast goes out.

Yeah, well, now I have to buy that one.

No, I have to buy the one that's online,

otherwise someone else's gonna buy it.

There we go.

Next time you see us, there will be a range

of a classic sat behind us.

And then a San GTR, hopefully.

And a Ford Focus.

And a Ford GT.

And a Ford.

Something.

Great place to end the podcast.

Thank you very much for listening to this

week's episode of Cars Rule Everything Around Me.

We will be back next week.

Ben is running away.

I think he's gonna go to toilet.

We'll have to.

I

hope you have a great week.

And remember, let us know you

call your rules and ruins.

Cream.

Cream.

I'm gonna go

and pee in the new toilet.

Nice.
