0:00 Introduction and Rule or Ruin
I don't think that's worse than a curb.
I would argue that too.
Well, why are we arguing, mate?
We both agree.
I think we're going to answer the driver's door.
A wet, big turn.
It's been an expensive week for one of the week.
We're all inventing these erotic races.
Hello, and welcome back to the Creme podcast.
The Cars Rule Everything Around Me podcast
with myself, William, Edwin to my right,
and Benjamin behind the camera.
there.
You keep interrupting.
You interrupt me one more time.
There's going to be trouble.
I said hi.
Stop messing with your hair.
Before we get into the meeting bones of the
podcast, we always ask ourselves if cars have
ruled or ruined our lives this week,
Edwin.
It's it has to be a ruin.
I can't say too much because we the video
might not be out yet.
We'll see.
We're filming these a little bit ahead,
as we've said.
But in the next week, you should say it
should be the way back it will be back.
Yeah, hopefully.
But yeah, we don't I took the alpha to a specialist.
It wasn't good.
Ben, could you give me one quote that they said?
Yes, I will, wasn't there.
So wouldn't say it.
Can you give me one quote they said yesterday?
Oh, that was a lot of that.
Yeah.
My quote was, it's not the worst we've seen,
but it's very close to it.
Oh, kind of sums it up.
Yeah.
No, we literally had a multiple times where
Evan would explain to the specialist,
this is what the car does.
And the brother going, Oh, that's the scrombone layer.
Yeah, that's that they went.
Oh, bear in mind the beauty of it is that
it's an ugly classic car.
So everything was relatively simple.
Yeah, sure.
He said multiple times I'd explain something.
Bear in mind, he has worked on these cars for 17 years.
He's seen all of them.
Anyway, I've never seen that before.
And not in a good way.
So it's going to be interesting,
but I'm excited.
I still love this car.
Ben, do you get it now?
Now that you've seen the other ones yesterday?
I understand it.
Yeah, I don't like yours.
I fair, but a nice one.
Oh, I quite like this.
Oh, I just wait until you just wait until the
front ends on it.
The thing is that you didn't see it part next
to the other ones.
It immediately made it feel like the worst
thing in the world.
Yeah, I do.
I really like this.
It looked like bringing, you know,
when sometimes they bring out like an old
athlete from 50 years ago, and they stand
them up next to the new athletes,
and you're like, you're a decrepit old sack of shit.
And look at this younger, fitter man.
That's what it looked like.
It's sort of an old fruit in a fruit bowl.
It's like fresh apples around,
and then there's just this withered shit grape.
Why would you have one grape?
Or am I fruit bowl?
Exactly.
An old pack of mini chedders next to a fruit bowl?
Fresh back then, exactly.
The old fruit bowl.
We went and cooked steak at my house earlier,
because we had to for a Hello Fresh advert.
It was great fun.
And it was a fantastic steak.
I'll tell you what.
Also, we started taking it seriously as if we
were working in professional kitchen.
We were saying like, no, the consistency of
your onion chopping is not correct then.
Can you get the potatoes chopped up,
please?
Also, they said, we just need one shot of
cooking steak in a pan.
Meanwhile, Ben's out here getting 2011 stance
edits of potatoes being chopped into things.
3:00 Steak Cooking for Hello Fresh Advert
fruit bowl.
Maybe we'll, you know, maybe we'll have to
release that as an edit on the cream Instagram.
A full,
because only one shot's going in the advert.
So we might as
well cut together a nice little montage.
It shouldn't go to
waste.
I've got a fantastic shot of food of Will
dusting
the courgettes, carrots and onions with a
nice mixed herbs
bag.
We're considering shifting CDC to three
dickheads
cooking.
Yeah, I like it.
We start saying things like,
"Yes, Chef, do we have the word Edwin's Kitchen?"
I'm saying it's ruined for that reason.
Do you know what?
There's another room because we can't say
about it yet.
I'm sure they'll have released it.
But also Alex and Co have bought a car.
Yeah.
You'll know now if you've seen auto Alex,
you know it's a big boy.
We'll just say that and you know that now
what it is if you've seen it.
I'm really upset because I want it so badly.
We sat in it and then we drove it up the road.
We said, "Take it up the road."
Okay.
So I drove it up the road.
Ferrari in the back.
Edwin and Rory?
Hello, I'm Ben.
Nice to meet you.
I was Ben over there.
Yeah, some are sort of full.
I'm Edwin and Ben in the back in,
let's say, luxurious comfort.
Lovely that you can figure out what these
things might be or might not be.
And I didn't realize I needed this in my life.
But now I do.
I so desperately want it.
Maybe the next week when we're back,
we know that it's been out.
We'll talk about it.
But we were furiously searching.
Can't put it in the one to the weeks,
we'll ruin it.
But I just know that, yeah, I want that so badly.
Oh my God.
And it's so much money.
Actually, you know what?
It has brought, because we're going to do a
one to the week later, right?
It has brought something back that I know I
can talk about that I want so very badly.
Okay.
But so, Ruin, because he just,
yeah, it's just, you know, long road ahead
for this old boy.
Also, first time he's been on the podcast.
A little after Jr.
Shout-out, Lily.
Rules afoot, though.
Possibly.
Rules afoot?
Possibly.
There's potential light at the end of your alpha tunnel.
There's not for years.
Right.
They said to me, you will spend years chasing
your tail on this car.
That's not good.
That's not great.
That's not good at all.
I had excited for it.
After seeing all of the parts of the place
and the potential for it, I can't wait.
Are the parts, Will?
Even you would have, there's just shelves
and, this is by the way, alcoholics,
which you might have heard of.
They do a Resto Mod at Alpha Jr.
or Alpha GT Coupe, and they have like a large
male order business that is just racks and
racks and racks, like an early 2000s wrapper,
of the nicest part.
You'd look over and there's an LST on one
side, a set of ITBs on the other,
they're out in some billet pedals on the
floor and you steer it just everything.
So I just walked around going,
I can't take that as well.
I nearly bought wheels while we were standing in contact.
It comes out with a, with a,
not even a small mortgage.
No, 'cause I know the alcoholics cars are.
Yeah, yeah, they're hundreds of thousands of miles.
For a small car, you could buy a real house
for that money.
Kyle who helped us there said,
yeah, I kind of, I bought an Alpha Jr.
and I started making buying alcoholics parts.
I bought so many, I have work here now.
Your job start.
He sued Monday.
Patrick that came with us, that he was like,
he nearly bought a car on the spot.
We forced him to buy a car thing?
Yeah, Julia, the super.
So everyone's on that, but even Ben,
even at your point, would like,
She would love an Alpha X GT.
Is it GT AR?
AR, so I'm not good with Alpha X.
That's the video Chris Harris did as a GT AR,
my God, yeah.
Now, funnily enough, I said,
I sent Kyle a message off the going and said,
thank you very much for having us.
Please give our regards to the owners,
they were very nice, letting us look around.
And he said, maybe we'll get a drive in there for you.
Not you Ben.
You won't be there.
I was excited for you.
I took a photo of a car.
What car was it?
It doesn't seem like a big thing,
but I only took photos of cars when I really weren't.
Which one?
Of the blue one with the white stripe over the bonnet.
Very fantastic.
I've got a horizontal stripe.
Yeah.
That's cool.
Why were we not doing that
more?
Oh, like 599 GT AR.
It was nice.
It was almost like a BMW carbon black.
I think actually was carbon,
the car.
7:00 Ben's Blue Alpha Junior with White Stripe
Well, I don't know what car you're talking
about, but I'm assuming it's like one of these.
With a nice tan interior.
The buzzer's way blue.
Almost like a posy blue.
I think that was it.
Not particularly metallic, but yeah.
It was carbon.
Sorry, hold on, just a, wait,
I love that color.
The blink of it?
I wouldn't.
I wouldn't.
Go on.
Back with a rear bumper, if you shine a torch
on it, it's carbon.
You can just see the carbon.
That car has an entire carbon body.
That's lovely.
Oh, it's, I would say too much,
but they were like, yeah, I have a number in
this, original one, it's a whole new body,
it's a whole new thing.
Ben, the one with the stripe,
I will pull up the photo of here.
Let's have a look at that.
What kind of stripe was it?
It was a white, blue stripe.
White stripe, horizontally across the,
yeah.
Yeah, that's, that's really it.
Oh, that is, so for audio listeners.
That is an alpha junior, but an
alpha-holix-rester mod version of it,
this car is a dark blue.
It has, would you say gunmetal wheels or serve wheels?
They're actually called Smoke Grey,
and I'm considering them, 'cause they're the
ultra lightweight version.
Said lovely.
I don't need that, my car has no fear.
And it has a horizontal from the sort of top
of the front arches over the wings,
over the bonnet, across the entire bonnet.
You know what, if anyone, I think I might
prefer something like that, 'cause the GTAR
has the wide arches.
No, that is, that's pretty, that's kind of the standard.
Wait, does it have a rear flare?
A slight flare, so it's up to the customer,
but the GTAN is the white body early guy.
See, that's cool, but I actually,
I like that.
Same, fully same, yeah.
We were saying as well, like,
imagine, I know obviously that's a rest of my
version, but imagine, walking to a dealership
and seeing that back in the day.
That isn't happening these days.
You look at cash cards these days.
That's the other one, which is like a
decrease, sort of thing.
Oh, that's just fantastic.
So yeah, one day, my car might look like that.
That is.
But still, well, where else are you getting
that experience, that, you know,
that Dolce V.A.
No, you haven't seen, you haven't been out in
this car yet, we're gonna drive it at the end
of the video, which either might be out or
we'll be coming up soon.
I have no idea what's happening,
that's fine.
We're gonna go out for a little drive in this
tomorrow at the end of the video.
It's actually quite cool, it's actually,
now that it used to run like absolute shade,
but MX-5 Will, well, we know MX-5 Will,
Will from Vestige Customs came down and
helped me put the gearbox in it,
and he tuned up the car very quickly,
went on the road.
It's already quite good.
Yeah, I heard it, just pulling in here.
It's a bad.
It's a naughty little bugger.
When we had the engine bay open and you can
actually, you're basically next to the car,
fantastic.
Sucking in air.
Old thing, these are in your mind right now,
but do you have an old thing that you look at
and you're like, "I like those."
Let me cast my mind.
You're a monk to escort, that's your--
I would, but you know what?
I think I'm in an Italian phase.
You've made a very Italian time in my life.
I mean, the BMW is the M3 is obviously an
aside, but I feel everything I see that's
Italian, I keep getting drawn in.
Like the court sport, I need that.
Well, I do need that.
I live like this, I need this,
everything needs to be Italian.
So, but there's not outside of this,
I don't know what other classic alpha I would
actually have.
But I don't like lots of the--
You don't mind the four door?
I don't mind the four door.
I don't mind the idea of whatever the
convertible is, like a spider.
A Giulietta or a duetto is just an alpha spider.
I quite like the idea of it,
and then I pitch myself in it,
and I go, "You can't do that."
It doesn't work, you can't do that.
I'll be honest, Ben works.
Ben would work, yeah.
Ben in the duetto, if you don't know,
that's a 60/70s alpha mayo spider.
You're looking like Dustin Hoffman in the graduate.
Really, it's your photo, it's confirmed.
Here we go, here's a few photos,
Ben.
Here is a blue spider, they're much more
pretty, their whole thing is that they're pretty.
I do enjoy that.
So you can have that, or you have these ones
which are cheaper, which is a Camtail,
which has a straight back.
I prefer a GC Junior.
Oh, you prefer the Camtail?
Yeah, but I can imagine my long,
luscious locks in that floating about.
And you're, no, that's fine.
Do you like?
As an old car.
I like a Mustang.
I don't think you could suit a car less than
an American '70s or '60s.
I like a '67 Fastback.
Okay.
Of course.
I like that.
Is that like what?
Oh no, '66, '67.
'67 Fastback.
We drove a '66.
No.
It was a '66, don't we?
So yeah, a Fastback is, what Ben's talking
about is the same thing we drove,
but a Fastback.
Same looking front end.
That was a Fastback.
Was it?
Yeah, it was on there.
Oh, then it's the later front end.
'Cause they changed a little bit like a year
or two later, right?
There you go.
I like that, there.
I like that a lot.
Yeah, that's dirty.
You're pulling up, like, take it a drift.
I prefer the only one.
I enjoy that in a big way.
I would actually somewhat agree with you on
that on the classic thing.
After I drove that GT350 Rep thing,
I wouldn't care if it's a Rep,
I couldn't care less.
'Cause I don't know the massive differences,
I just wanted to look and sound and drive
like a bit mental.
And I was like, one of the first times I've
got out of contact, I really have to own
something like that.
I'm getting a, I can't, because I really can't.
If anything, something needs to go at some point.
12:00 Dream Classic Cars and Restomods
I was wondering for something that is like,
could I have never owned something older than 2000?
That's mad.
Everything I've owned is, all this cars are
the V70, T5 and the E38, that's it.
And then after that, it'd be the massive logo.
Crazy.
Yeah.
I would, I'd like, I see an old American time
in my life.
'67, maybe '68, Barracuda, before they became
like the iconic shape.
I will own one of those at one point.
I love them.
So very much.
Yeah.
I don't like the sound of an original 911.
Sumi.
What the air, the airy sort of.
Wait to ask.
It's
almost singer spec, but I like a back date.
For those that
don't know it, you take it slightly later,
like an eight or 90s 911, and you put the
front end, or is it the full body?
No, it's front end.
Front end is the main thing you have to--
Front end of an original 911,
these sort of more '60s classic look on it.
There was something like one more on it.
One of the Osher cars, when we went and
filmed there, the collecting cars,
they had, you know what?
And I'm not into Porsche stuff on 911,
and I don't understand it or know what anything is.
So I looked at that and thought,
I could, I could feel myself inside that.
Yummas is what you thought.
I just, I don't know what it is,
but I think--
Should we do a massive, like an Evo-style,
Resto Mod Multitest?
I'd love it.
Just run out of track and invite every Resto
Mod company and say, well, bring it down.
I'd be so happy.
I would be, there'd be so much.
Yeah, there'd be so much.
So much.
I think I was gonna have a different word.
There's a chance we had just left.
Yeah, it's that word.
I'm not coming.
Tim, you can do that.
You said nutting, we can't.
I was gonna say sauce.
Which is maybe worse.
But who would you, you could have alcoholics?
Boromotorworks.
Boromotorworks.
MST, MST.
Yeah.
You know what?
Yeah, retro power, just bring down anything you like.
Whatever you want, retro power can bring anything.
The company, I forget the name,
but it's like the same sort of company as
Borom, the one with the 345.
Here's my question of the day,
guys.
Oh, yes.
Let's make this a bug girl still thick.
What rest of what would you like to see
happen to them?
Ah, here we go.
A 911.
(laughing)
I could have put a model on.
But I want people to take a G-body,
an old '80s 911, make it look like a 992.
So it drives horribly, but you get out and
you're like, yeah.
We think these, I do think, and I have thought,
okay.
Fantastic.
About this, just recently, and I thought of a mirror.
Whoa.
Because I know that, well, I don't know,
because I'm a driven one, but I have heard
that a mirror is kind of driving like ass,
because they're just set up odd,
where the engine's placed and where the fuel
tank is and that kind of thing.
If you were to kind of modernize all that
stuff, make it make it a bit more power,
a bit more reliable.
Probably modern suspension, modern tires,
I think that would, and just making it a bit
more like the, or like, making a Yota,
one thing that's called--
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Spicy one.
Making that version of it, or even normal.
I just think that would bust on a grand level.
Mine's similar, mine's a Montreal.
Yeah, it'd be cool.
Now, I can't say much, but maybe,
or maybe not, if you go and watch the Larry
Chan video on Alfalux, they may or may not be
developing things.
Whoo!
'Cause they don't drive well,
they're bad, but imagine.
Many mirror.
'Cause they have a cool engine as well.
It's a great engine, just let down by the
fact that they have an advanced fuel
injection of the time that, once it breaks,
sign up.
It's essentially tied into your oil system.
Oh, nice.
So, they don't like living.
So, if you had that being reliable with some
big trumpets on it, on that intake,
there's a company called OK Tech.
Oh, just like
Ben.
Reliable.
There's a company called OK Tech.
There's a company called OK Tech,
who have done one, and the noise,
it's like a race engine, so it's not,
feasible, but that'd be nice.
Ben, I'd like a Mark I Golf GTI.
That'd be cool.
Can I see the Tolman 205?
Yeah,
exactly.
So, Tolman 205, I'm not trying to steal from
you here, I'm just thinking as an
inspiration, is that that looks exactly like
a 205, and they've added, you know,
they've just made it better,
basically, they've made it handle better,
drive better, a little bit more power,
that kind of thing, but like that from Mark I.
I want all the classic basket weave stuff in
there, 'cause I imagine the original,
cool patterns and stuff you get on the seats
from Mark I's and Mark II.
Someone's GTIs.
Someone has to have that in the works.
'Cause that would sell.
'Cause that is realistically,
well, for many, the most iconic hot hatch of all time.
And given that like 200 horsepower and--
Is there a little space in this market for something new?
A Resto Mod, that isn't the spicy version.
It's the--
I don't think I'd have much interest in it,
but it's the base golf.
Yeah, so it's like the city golf almost,
right?
Which is an actual car, but like that,
where you take like a, I don't know,
you take a Mark 1 Fiesta, for example.
But you don't put a super spicy engine in it,
so it's revving to 9,000.
Just a 1/4, just a 1/2.
Maybe you could put something slightly more modern.
Yeah.
But it's got just enough power,
it's not crap, where you can't keep up with
traffic, you can pull out a junction,
you can overtake.
Just like a 1-liter EcoBoost.
Yeah, it's got power steering,
it has all this stuff, so all of the crap
stuff, it has a bit of radio,
it has a bit of sound system,
insulation, all that sort of stuff.
It doesn't stink fuel, and all of that is better.
But it still looks like, I mean,
if you crash it, you'll still die.
Yeah, you're still dumb.
But at least you've got a car plane.
(laughs) I still believe at some point we
need to do on TDC and Mach 1 on Mach 2 Fiesta.
I'm not a Ford man, but I am a Mach 1 on Mach
2 Fiesta van.
They are so very cool.
A Shirocco?
Shirocco's got, you know what?
I'm gonna set it, and I'm gonna upset Kyle
who's listening.
I'm not that big on the early Shiroccos,
but I am on Carados.
A Resto-Mog Carado.
I'd go spicy feral.
I'd go saucy for Carado, yeah.
They make me--
That era of thing, that has to be coming.
Yeah, it has to be.
Because there's like that 20-year-old
right where it's like you go back 20 years,
it's the people buying stuff it's like 20 years ago.
But surely that Resto-Mog must follow a similar thing.
Maybe that's slightly longer where it's like
30 or 40 years old.
Yeah, people buy them when they're 20 years
old and go, "This is actually quite shit."
Five years later people go, "I'm done with
this being like that.
I'm gonna make it nice."
Carado, my future, I see it.
I love them.
A crystal ball.
The cream crystal ball.
The cream crystal ball.
Do you know what?
How about this, Ben?
We're gonna implement this.
No, I'm not so much for you,
but in call it one year's time.
So from--
Why not me?
No, well, you'll say kill me.
One year's time, I want a prediction of what
car you will have owned.
You can have either been currently owning it
or you will have owned it in a year.
So this is a crystal ball prediction from now.
It's like a time capsule.
19:00 Will's M3 Wrap Decision and Future Plans
In a year will reopen this podcast and check
or people will say, "Hey, it's nearly been a year."
And then people will say, "What car do you
think you will have owned by this time next year?"
Clear 200, hopefully.
No, your cheese balls.
Well, this is a new one.
This is why I said not so much you.
You can make me anything in my daily.
I see, I try to see in my future.
I knew a three series for the daily.
'Cause really, it's like the E-class.
I just don't think it's--
No, I had a three series over that.
Bit boring, but I won't keep it clear for now.
So, what you have?
I'm going to put in this.
I'm going to put it off a little while.
I was not thinking.
What am I gonna put in there this time next year?
I'll seal mine in.
Go on.
I'm gonna seal in now as kind of a cheat
because I do know of it.
Can I do that?
Can it be something that I have feeling as out for?
Yeah, that's fine.
Oh, yeah.
I have what I don't know what it is.
Well, I might know what it is.
Look would be a 550, but let's not say that.
Okay, let's do that.
Well, no, because that's, it's happening regardless.
That will happen.
Make it mark them, not a Mark II Golf.
The car throttle mark II Golf.
Wow, that sounds good.
I want it so very much.
I'm in contact with the guy who bought it and
I couldn't buy it at the time.
I really want that car.
I love it.
It'll be so special to me, genuinely very
special to own the car throttle mark II Golf
and the TDC 911.
That's cool.
That's Genesis of gang.
I've got mine.
Sorry, gone.
Nope.
You ask your question.
Do you think you'd actually feel anything towards it?
Yeah.
Or is it, is it...
He sent a photo the other day and I was
immediately filmed with film.
Yeah, I was immediately filmed at work every
day by Benjamin Rogers.
No, I was filled with like, oh man,
how cool is that?
I would want to modify it.
I want to put a VS6
turbo in it.
Oh, wow.
That car?
No, AKK.
I was so, I was fine.
Mine is going to be at a year's time on this angie tail.
Is it?
No.
I thought you were gonna say it.
It's a stretch.
I would love that.
Do you know what's interesting?
I would love that.
You also, I'm very conscious of the fact
we've only done one rule of ruin.
Yeah, no, we still got two rule rules.
We're into the bullshit, right?
Is that for someone who doesn't keep cars for
long and goes, I'm done with this car now.
You go back to cars quite often.
Yeah.
Well, the GTR is that, well,
the M3 is one of those because I like that car.
That's my comfy slippers car.
Okay, it just feels nice.
And I understand it.
And then every six months you go,
I hate these slippers.
I don't know if I've lost one instead.
But the GTR is, 'cause I had to get rid of
it, 'cause I couldn't really afford it,
and because it was just a stupid thing to buy
at the time, I'd never got my actual use out of it.
So I want to do that and do it properly.
But it might only be six months,
but I'd like to get more actual use out of it.
But would you look for another modified one?
Yeah, probably.
Yeah, 'cause starting from zero on a GTR,
that's an expensive hobby.
Yeah, you can do like the basic,
the 4.25 that everyone does,
but it'd be nice to have a real spicy one.
I think they are so cool, just ridiculous.
I mean, I have to got to do some serious work
to make that, 'cause they're still the same
money as when I sold mine, which is ridiculous.
Yeah, so there you go, that's my rule,
I'm ruined.
The longest tangent, Will.
What will I be?
I will be all, you know what,
I'll be rule.
An expensive decision was made in the last
couple of days.
What's that mean?
Well, to the M3.
You would have seen the second channel video
now, which is like a little update.
On the M3.
Right, okay.
And it was like, you've just dropped it off,
it was just gonna go and get the roof re-ink it.
And then Chris, the painter said to me,
he's like, this car is incredibly nice,
we really should paint this.
I was like, yeah, no, we should.
He's like, I'll just get some quotes,
and let's do it.
So now the car is having a glass out respray.
Christ.
So yeah, but I did, I weighed it up,
it's a little bit of man maths,
but I thought it's gonna cost me money to do
a ramp, and the car needs prep to do a wrap
anyway, because of how bad the paint is,
it needs rubbing down to make it right,
anyway, not much like Ben does.
And you might as well do that to do paint anyway.
So why spend that money on the wrap when I
can put that towards, it's probably a decent
chunk of the car being painted,
and I'll keep thinking, that car is a 50,000
mile manual with every single option.
The cheapest manual for service,
those miles is about 30K, and I paid 14 for that car.
So yeah, I mean, there's a lot of money to
import into that car, but I think it'll be worth it.
Maybe that car is my path to GTR.
Whoa!
That's my brain thing is keep it for six
months to a year.
Hopefully make it, you know,
it appreciates 'cause they have where now.
That and the Mégane, you're on the way to a
GTR, that's cool.
I should hope so.
But yeah, I'd say we'll, Mercy Largo and No
Progress, hopefully soon.
Actually, by this point, probably coming up
on Mercy Largo happening, we're looking a
little bit ahead, but it could be in the
process of I'm still putting together parts and stuff.
Also, I meant to say, I have also found a,
I've been on the hunt for a calf,
my girlfriend, who I think I've said in the
previous podcast, will now only accept an E36
in Boston Green convertible.
Who cares, interesting.
That is the only thing she will,
unfortunately, let her drive my 36 silver
car, and now she said that was the only thing I want.
So I found one, I found one the other day,
and I used the car vertical check on it,
and I thought it was all going good,
everything was good.
I know it turned out to be a Cat-C twice,
twice written off, Cat-C, that's twice
structural, which is nice.
Yeah, that's good.
Sorry, one Cat-C, one S.
from back in the day.
Oh, so twice structural?
Yeah, twice structural.
Fantastic.
Which is quite nice.
A double bent up, like a personal fantastic.
There's always, we always say,
use a car vertical check before you buy a car.
They're sponsoring this podcast,
as they do always.
It might save you from buying a heap of
shite, like we nearly do a lot of the times.
It's for this exact example.
You look at a car, it looks good,
paperwork might look fine, but you run a
check, the previous owner might not even know
that the car's been written off,
I think they might have known on this.
This is Caucasian, I don't think there's much
way not to, but it's worth doing,
it's worth your while, and you can use our
code cream for 20% off your next car vertical check.
And also you can bundle a load of checks
together, so a few or some friends or some
family know you're gonna be buying multiple
cars this year, like we often do,
and you can get up to 50% off those checks
just by bundling together, then you'll have a
load of credits ready to go whenever.
So yeah, big up car verticals.
Ben, Jimin, for me, let me think about that.
We've only had half an hour but I think for
me, I'm gonna go rule, because the Golf,
it's sort of the same thing every week at the
minute, 'cause we are sort of thinking ahead of time.
Can I say something?
Yeah.
I was towing the alpha back yesterday,
and we happened to be in a similar convoy,
and I was behind Benjamin at one point,
'cause he shot off a hundred mile an hour,
weaving through traffic.
It's kind of crazy, he's not doing that.
Certainly.
But more importantly, you have cleaned your
car, sorry, you didn't clean your car,
you got a human clean your car.
I paid them, so I sort of did.
26:00 Dodgy Volvo XC70 Purchase Experience
Not how that works.
Your car, it's looking fantastic.
But I was essentially doing a roller shot
with my eyes.
I could see the car just three quarters from
behind, and I thought, that looks fantastic.
It is, look.
The lows you have gone for, just 20 mil,
in my head, I think you or I would look at
that and go, that's not enough.
That's actually 25.
Oh, it's 25.
But it has seven, even then,
I would look at that and go,
I need 40, I need 40 or 50.
But 20, looking real scrumptious.
It's very usable.
There are, like, if I go over speed bump,
I've had no rubbers tour or anything,
but if I go over speed bump,
I've got a bit more cautious.
But for what, is it rubbing or just like,
it has a bit?
Just because it's a little bit more bouncy.
Okay.
I mean, you can't just cream down,
like,
'Cause I'm cheating me out, or...
No, just more bouncy, so you sort of get
thrown around a bit more.
Okay, it's just a bit more stiff.
Yeah, but I'm gonna say 25% more stiff than it was.
Oh, just like 25 mil, that's how it works.
Exactly, yeah.
But it's fantastic.
See, there are 100 million.
I would also say this.
100% stiff.
It was parked outside of alcoholics and the
sun was shining in a certain way.
And those scratches were just...
You got those, yeah.
Holograms, oof.
It really was.
It was a sticker.
It was a cheap one.
Okay.
Ben, how about we get up there?
How about we get Robin down,
you and him go to town, and then also you clean up.
(all laughing) You get that car,
'cause that would look fantastic.
I said in the car folk, I'll say another.
I arrived this morning, Ben arrived possibly
moments later.
He reversed in behind me.
Before the car had even come to a halt,
the bonnet was popped.
I had to do, I didn't have to do all that.
This was all so funny, it was like you said,
the car didn't even tell me to,
I'm just changing.
I don't know what, that's probably a good
thing on your part to do a little preemptive
you're doing.
Did you check in it?
You know, using that little bit of free will.
That's what Ben thought when we said
preventative maintenance.
He said, check the oil twice a day.
Okay, I just got a fresh oil.
No, I hadn't done it for like a week,
so I thought I'd check it.
Buy a little car, and your paintwork and your
wheels are really letting you down,
and letting you down as a human.
It's first impressions matter,
and I'm gonna look at you and go,
"Are you?"
You're lowered, but with curved wheels and
hologram, everywhere, it's giving scumbag.
It's also giving a little bit Bradford.
Hey, don't do that.
The paintwork, I actually think that the
average person looks fine, but the
wheels are tough, 'cause they're not,
well, they are a bit
cub, but then it's mostly corrosion on the
front of them, so they need a problem.
I don't think that's worse than a cub.
I would argue that too, because it's the--
Well, why are we arguing, mate?
I don't know why we are.
But no, that car is looking,
I think it looks more modern now.
And now it's been cleaned.
I agree.
It looks like a new car to me.
It doesn't look like--
It's bloody weird that they have dealerships
full of dirty cars.
They look like some yard car before,
just being abused by you.
Where we picked up the XC-70.
Should we talk about that very quickly?
Because we didn't show it in the video,
for good reason, but we bought the XC-70,
but you will have seen the video from now.
Now, we were running out of options.
We had genuinely been looking for that car.
This is a video that we did where we tried to
see if we could find a 500 pound car that was
road legal and drivable in 2026.
It was tough.
It was a tough video.
We looked at multiple cars.
There was lots of stuff off camera that you
didn't even see.
Anyway, Ben went, "I found the XC-70."
Cool, we like an XC-70, sounds good.
And Ben, at the time, I'm 100% sure of this.
I remember this, but I went,
"500 quid, it's here, this, this,
this."
I said a message, asking when we can view it.
He organized the guy said, "Yeah,
I can view it today."
And then Ben went, I'll say 850 quid.
(laughs) We were like, "You absolutely answered."
Do you know what it was?
I was so confident we'd get him down.
I just assumed he was 100 quid.
And I said to you guys, I was like,
"This'd be perfect."
"Oh, look at this."
I forgot to say, "Oh, by the way,
we need to get him down in price."
But I already messaged him at that point.
And so we loballed.
Well, the worst thing was you loballed it.
We said to Ben, "Well, now you have to loball
him and you see if he takes it."
So Ben loballed the man.
And his response was, and this might be in
the video, "If you're a man to your wood,
I'll do that, I'll sell that power,
I'll do it today."
And I immediately thought in my head,
I was like, "That's a weird phrase."
"That's a weird turn of phrase."
That'd be fine.
Gave us an address, we started drawing towards it.
And as we got close, I thought,
"This is looking dodgy.
This area is looking like not urban dodgy,
countryside dodgy."
Which if you read between the lines,
you know what that means.
I said, "Ben, can you check his profile,
please?"
And he opened his phone, and all I had in the
background was, "Shit."
And when you open it, what was the man's profile?
I don't know what you don't want to say.
His banner was a horse and cart is what it was.
He turned up to the address where he was told
to meet, and there was no one there.
It was an empty business state.
And you got a message saying,
"There'll be a woman in a jeep turning up.
Follow the jeep to a farm."
But I started panicking, I'll be honest at that point.
No, I'll be honest with you.
It was all above board in the end.
Actually, they were actually there.
They were nice.
They were lovely.
But when we were following someone onto three
different barbed wire fences into a horse
field, I was worried.
Especially when we got there in the car had
damage not really shown in the air.
You can see the edge of a lens that could
look like there's
dirt or something like that.
No, they should have said that
it was.
But also, they're also worth two photos.
Yeah, like
a front shot and a rear shot.
Do you know what one more do
you need?
This is what it annoys me sometimes about
stuff we do.
People think they can get away with listing a
car like this.
And we buy it?
Yeah.
We reward them for their terrible advert.
It's like an advert that says drives good
car, good to go.
And we go, fantastic, we'll take it.
Wonderful.
In the real world as well, like normal people.
You're not getting away with that.
No.
Only in YouTube land will someone message you
and go, "Oh, I'll give you 500 squared,
I'll come get it right."
No questions asked.
I think at that price point,
it probably happens more than you think.
Really?
Because people do want car.
Yeah.
Like it's like the buying an ominous thing,
where it's like, well, does it work?
Well, yeah.
Are you a man to your word?
I am.
No, because we showed up and we bought it and
we had no questions asked.
We only take 500 pounds.
Sorry, actually, I did ask two questions.
I asked, is there a V5?
And they said no.
And I said, is it taxed?
And they said no.
And then that was it.
That was the question.
It was an interesting one.
But we got a car out of it.
There was certainly a car.
And now that car is full of eggs.
Yeah.
They might even be the next one coming up soon.
Sorry, we're a little bit out of whack.
As of next week, the timeline will write itself.
We should be back.
We'll be hopefully back by next week.
Yes, we're already quite far in.
We're deep in creaming territory.
Oh, we've got a game to match and dice.
We do.
We do.
We do have a-- Who can buy the most merch?
No, no,
no.
That sounds like a very-- Yeah,
like, no, this was a
supermarket sweep.
By now, there should be a load of you
that have received your cream match.
Again, shout out to all of you that have
supported us on this first match.
Thank you for bearing with on the pre-order.
It took a while to work out what we were
doing, essentially.
But we're very happy with the show.
shirts and the hoodies.
But we want to know, we want to see what the
most inappropriate cream match placement is.
Oh, Will and I were talking about this off-camera.
I just like to see-- Now, you don't need to
go for it.
You don't force it.
You don't force it.
But, you know, can I get a photo of someone
wearing cream match at a funeral?
Sure.
Would that be your last?
I'll ask it.
Can they be wearing more?
Can
the person in the house give you a hug?
Oh, my God.
would be the best.
Something like this, this lovely shirt.
It gets away with the sort of cream,
it's not really, that it's Hollywood.
We're calling it the slap sticker,
the cream.
You could get away with this.
That's a nice and lovely normal t-shirt.
It's fantastic quality too.
But, I'm a creamer.
I should have qualified that.
If you have an I'm a creamer shirt and don't
go out and buy one just for that,
don't worry.
You don't need to do that.
Or do.
I'm not gonna stop you.
But so, yeah, if you happen to be in a place
that you probably shouldn't be wearing on I'm
a creamer, or maybe just one that's idyllic,
maybe just somewhere, it might be an
interesting place that you wouldn't expect it.
Christ the Redeemer.
I'd like to see you.
That's nice.
Nice career.
No, the seven ones of the world.
But that's not the seven creamers of the world.
That would be good.
That's not really what you shouldn't,
I think you can get away with wearing it.
Yes, if I'm walking through Machu Picchu and
I see somewhere I'm a creamer.
Yeah, I'm a creamer in Parliament.
Would be great.
That'd be good.
Yeah.
You're meeting a royal.
Yeah, within the royal household would be fantastic.
Windsor Castle, but not on the visiting bit.
I want you to be in there.
Don't break it in.
Don't break it in.
We can't, yeah.
Meeting your partner's family for the first time.
Fantastic.
It's a bold move.
It's a payoff, isn't it?
So you might need to have the back shown in
some sort of photo.
If it was like a family dinner and there was
like an over the shoulder shot and we've goturna creamer.
Now we're looking unhappy.
I'm going to qualify this for us to talk
about it or shot on the podcast.
We need a photo.
Now, if you have a story, that's fine.
We may still read it, but in terms of playing
the game for getting ranked as the highest,
don't you do this.
This is a literal on the fly thing.
Maybe the best of the month will make a goal
that I'm a creamer shirt and will send it to
you for free.
Which you don't have to wear at Matchy Beach.
Ben really obsessed with the Matchy Beach.
Oh, bus up there at 51.
Anyway, a nuclear bay.
Anything military.
A film set.
I'd quite like a film set.
George, if you're just working security.
In a professional capacity, it could be quite
interesting.
A film at Match or something.
Oh, yeah.
There's a lot of people there,
so it's difficult to, and everyone can see your back.
And for context, I realized,
I probably should have said this earlier,
we sell a shirt that just says,
I am a creamer on the back of it.
And then in very small writing,
I listen to the Car's Rule Everything Around Me podcast.
You know, it's got all the information you
need on there to be understood by everyone.
But shout out to everyone who bought the match.
Where would they find it?
They find that at carsrule.shop or carsruin.shop.
And where would they not find it?
You wouldn't find it on iConbox.shop.
A lot of people still saying like,
oh, can I message Chris or I'll email Chris,
the guys from Autoalex and iConbox,
not involved, well, not involved,
it's, we're separate to them.
So if you have any issues with your orders,
shout out to us.
There's an email on the website and you can
get in contact.
And if you have any orders, issues with your
order, that's all.
I was looking for.
But shout out the creamers, as always.
Why should we talk about?
Well, we've got the Benters Torkle talk out.
Oh, yeah.
So Bentley have released their first electric thing.
Very old news at this point.
That's what it is.
And it does not look like a Rolls Royce tool.
Do you know what it looks like to me?
If you don't, if you haven't seen,
it looks to me like the new McCann,
but it's wearing spectacles at the front.
Well, interesting you say so because I read
apparently it shares much of the same
platform as a new Cayenne.
I think you've lied about everything.
Well, it wouldn't make sense because the old,
hold on, the Ben Taylor is an IQ seven Cayenne.
Yeah.
I guess that is that makes sense.
But so tell me that isn't the front end is
knock off colour.
Yeah, it looks a bit.
Do you know what I was thinking of?
It looks like when a like an early 2000s sort
of Korean or Japanese brand tries to look
like a high end like German or English car,
but apparently you didn't need to do that.
That's a Chinese colour, man.
You are a Bentley.
You have your own design language.
And your own heritage too.
Yeah, you didn't need to copy.
Can we get a back shot?
Oh, my God.
Is this going to be their design language?
This is your news.
I don't know that.
Well, I can confirm, though,
is that my first point was true.
It shares it with the Portia,
like premium vehicle platform thing,
the same as the Cayenne Electric.
Portia, the premium vehicle platform.
That actually sounds quite official.
The PPVP.
Oh, look it up, shall I?
I had it on my phone.
Hold on.
The PPE.
The PPE.
The PPE.
That's always safety.
You should stay safe.
Premium platform electric architecture.
Now, this is also, I think, if you focus in
on that C-pillar, that little back corner,
that is an E-trum, an Audi E-trum thing.
I think it just looks like every,
I am SUV type thing.
But if you look at that front quarter,
from the rear angle, you can see where it
goes off the nose.
It just looks like a Rolls Royce.
is quite often that, as cool as having shared
platforms on, I understand why they're required.
Costs and things now make making a car in
2026, near impossible to make money on.
So you have to have shared platforms.
But we're just getting into this thing where
they're all just a variant of each other.
I think I dislike it most when it's stuff
like Rolls Royce and Seven Series.
That's supposed to be a special one-off big car.
It's just a Seven Series with a different front end.
It's not right.
It's okay before when it was used to have the
R8 and the Glado or the Hurricane and the R8,
whatever.
It's totally different.
But when it starts to become everything,
if you get involved with VAG,
that's what's happening to you.
At some point, that's happened to you.
You're getting consumed.
The events door on the Revuelto were like,
"Please, please do not touch us."
They leave us alone.
We do not want anything to do with this.
We don't have a beginning twice a year.
Custom body on one.
Custom body and sell it for five mil.
It is annoying.
Some of the shine off it.
The other thing I was going to say,
if you haven't seen it, it also has vibes of
that new Jaguar, the Type 01 thing.
Why are you being every car design in one?
I don't understand it.
It's an interior.
If you can pull a photo, it's both your type.
I won't.
It looks Chinese.
It's also a vial color.
I get it for a launch spec, you want to stand out.
But also, why are you standing out?
You're not a supercar.
You're a bent as well.
I do too.
Especially a lot of modern Bentley stuff.
I really like it.
40:00 Bentley's First Electric Car Critique
That feels like a, again, I'm not a modern
Bentley customer, so perhaps I'm wrong.
And I think it will probably sell quite well
because it's, you know, it's the interior.
Well, I don't know how different that is.
That middle screen feels so unbently to me.
It's the same because it's the portion of the audio.
It's like a cascading, waterfall effect.
Oh my goodness.
It does.
And it has, I'd say.
The man who hates this car design,
it just uses pure car design jargon.
I'd say it's like a 30% bend.
It's sort of a 30%, angle bend.
I think it maybe it's because it shares it
with the Porsche.
It doesn't suit it.
The rest of the interior is very elegant.
You've got this weird middle screen.
Also, I'm going to say this,
I think it's only ever happened a couple of
times where they've, where someone's shared a
platform and managed to make an interior like
unique, if that makes sense.
The interiors are always too close,
too close to the other car.
They can't feel special because they have to
be designed on a set, same architecture.
if you want
to call it that.
I
think it was like their performance arm,
right?
Million horsepower, this one,
yeah, this one, 270 horsepower.
So that's what you want for like a fun sort
of, they call it a cafe racer,
which is like the motorbike type thing said
to be unveiled on the 24th of September.
That's been a while, Ben.
What's going on, mate?
Hey, man.
It does look quite cool.
But it's the electric thing.
Also, I was going to say that they don't,
it probably won't look like the design,
but actually lots of the Renault,
they actually look quite close to some of the
sort of Renault.
Listen, once again, we're on this stuff.
And still not getting back to us,
by the way.
We've had lots of very, very handy and useful
and good and nice people reaching out saying,
I live here, I live there, I live everywhere.
I'm willing to get this much for you,
but I want it from the horse's mouth.
Yeah, we had a Dutch creamer that works for
Renault vans in Holland, say I've reached out
to my like internal company contacts in the
UK to ask to reach out.
Nothing.
Yeah.
Shout out to you, Dutch creamer.
He said he'd like to see us do vans at some point.
We will.
We want to wear a house of frogs.
Yeah, it works.
I want to be the house of frog.
House of Frog is like one of the coolest
branding things I've seen for a while.
And we're not just saying it's we get some
house of frogs.
I'll soak
them.
We could possibly do a little merch collab.
A house
of frog X, cream, X Renault.
House of cream.
I like that.
House of pain.
So yeah, either way, so cool looking concept,
like a coupé sort of like a boxy coupé thing.
Nice.
It reminds me of this.
What's that?
About the same sort of.
Squirt that web to it.
What we got next?
And the more you see useless news from Ben?
You know what, we will do one more useless
piece of news from you.
I will skip ahead.
Because you said something about the final
Navera production number.
Yes, I was watching a video of Mattie Rimmack
talking about showing off the production line
of the right Navera.
And about how they're saying about how
they've done the Naveras and they're coming
to the end of production.
And he gave a final number.
Because there was all that stuff about,
they were going to make 150,
I think, was, and they ended up making a lot
less than that.
And there was rumors that they were
struggling to sell them because they're
electric hypercars.
And he has said officially that,
I believe it's an exact number,
it's something like 50 or 51 road cars.
Okay.
And 20 or 21.
Wow.
Navera R's.
So what is in Navera R?
Is that a non-road legal?
Is it like a race?
No, I think it's like a track version.
Okay.
It's like an SVJ version of a line store type of thing.
That's what you have on the screen.
Yeah, okay.
So that makes that a very rare car.
Yeah.
I wonder if the fact that it's now kind of
tied in with Bugatti.
Obviously, I don't think anyone's going to
talk about them in the same kind of breath.
But if that helps, Remack, especially in life
of like future values, right?
They're like, you know what,
that's the Bugatti era, Remack,
and there's only 20 of them.
But they're being making now,
right?
But they're in that same moment,
if you like.
Yeah, but this is obviously,
this is, this is Remack on their own.
Well, it's destroying my point.
No, that's absolutely fine.
That's perfectly fine.
Now, is that, hold on, let me just check.
There's half, half, what they said.
I just looked up, because that number seemed
semi familiar, 62 MC12s on Earth,
and then 12 race cars.
So that makes that, you know,
rarer that an MC, because they
made them for years.
There were years of the various.
I don't know if it's because they're
producing a small number and
like that.
Yeah, he showed the production line.
It doesn't look like a big production line.
Because the thing is, there's always like a,
I always think there's an argument when
whenever people be like, yeah,
there's two of these made, because they made
them for four weeks.
Okay.
Okay.
But if they made them for years and still
only 50 were made, that's kind of more
special, because people had the option to buy
them, but didn't.
That makes them truly rare.
So same thing with MC12s.
They obviously they weren't made for as long,
but that's kind of, kind of mad.
Sorry.
Yeah.
It will be.
I still, as much as it is, I think it's electric.
I know it's a lot of electric stuff today,
but fine.
If you don't like that, I understand.
But surely in the future, when you go back
and you look at the 2020 era,
of cars, that's going to be,
that's one of the first electric hyper cars
that does like, not 16, like 1.9 seconds.
It's going to have some residual value
because of that, surely.
It's a minute in turn.
And also rarity often in the long run kind of
wins in terms of values.
Yeah, boys.
It's, if it's that plus the fact that it's
going to be, there's going to be 20 or
however many of them will always be on its side.
Like in theory, is that true?
I was trying to think in theory,
F40s are probably in total worth more than McLaren F1s.
McLaren F1 is a 25, 30 million pound car,
but there's only, call it at work,
it's a 108, a 108 total chassis versus 1300
odds, F40s, but each of those are worth two
to three mil.
So in theory, the value overall is similar or
more for F40, but there's much,
much more of them.
But rarity is what drives the price up of the F1.
Rarity wins every time.
Then what's the, what's the rarest,
if you were to sell your golf as a rare
investment, what would you, what angle would
you go with?
Right now, it's rare because 99% of the car
is perfectly clean, but there is one colossal
bird turd on the door.
It is, it is actually amazing.
I was really quite upset.
I went shopping last night, bought some food,
walked out in the car park.
There's my car.
I walked it from a different angle and I was
walking at it and thinking, "I'm sitting great.
He's so shiny."
Went round to the driver's door,
a wet, big turd.
And I was like, turns out it was one of us.
Just drive by you.
The size of it, I had to check it wasn't
human for a second.
Really quite upsetting.
is the only one in the world with a
fiberglass chassis leg.
Super rare.
This is a unique opportunity.
I am selling the car to buy a time capsule
version of the unique fiberglass chassis leg
to Alfa Romeo.
They made the aluminium ones,
which are rare, but the fiberglass ones.
Far more rare.
Well, it's fair.
Mine would be, I'll go with the Alfa as well.
Italian thoroughbred with the thinking man's
two liter JTDM.
Which is still Italian, I believe.
It's the only one with non-folding folding wrist seats.
Exactly why I thought it has those folding
seats, but with no through to get to the book.
Which is?
That's because it was a touring car.
Very rare.
For more, it was for more structural rigidity.
And the folding seats are purely,
they're actually so you can remove them to go racing.
And it's probably the only one that's ever
been used to transport a steak dinner in the
back center console.
Yep, entirely possible.
Absolutely.
Perfect fit as well.
That's fantastic.
It really does.
They made it fit.
That was loose, by the way, just steak in his head.
Yeah, it was a place, but it did fit like
millimeter precise.
Like a trouser press.
We've had a gift.
We have a gift.
We have this fantastic book here from Kit at
Number Play History.
I did a video with him recently because he
wanted to do some video on some of my plates
and also TDC plates and also on Yevil.
He actually messaged me and said,
"Would you mind if I do a little deep dive on
the plate that you're putting on the Mercilogre?"
which was a press car plate,
blah, blah, blah.
So he wanted to do that.
But he gave a gift, which is very nice.
Cause this is a front red, it's a red
transverse book called Fanatical About Number Plates.
And it has on the front of it,
550, a Ferrari 550 with a number plate,
TDF blue, the best color.
But it's just a really cool book.
I know that the number plate can be quite
boring and it gets quite tedious and you're
talking about values and this one,
some number plates are a bit of a stretch.
But there are some actually quite cool
stories in there.
There's a story in here about the,
I'm assuming he probably doesn't own it now
because I think we said it's in a different car.
But ATND, yeah, it says Bond basically,
is that, and this dates the book as well,
is that this guy bought the plate,
but he almost wasn't able to get it because
the red transverse, I think,
offered it to the people making James Bond
die another day, to sort of promote the movie.
And it wasn't going to go to them,
but apparently the guy who bought the plate,
he rang up that afternoon and said,
I'd like to buy ATND and bought it that day.
So therefore it didn't go to be promoted to the movie.
So that guy bought it and my God,
I mean, that plate must be a hell of a lot.
If you know what, let me see if I can find
how much, when that last sold,
'cause there are some stats,
and the stats Ben, one of the stats I have,
is for ATN, that's the one you want.
Ben, just funny, isn't it?
Unfortunately for you, Ben, I found that the
last time that sold was on October,
1996, realistically, before number plates
were like that big of a, you know,
they're obviously number plates of always
been an interesting and private place,
they've always been a big thing in the UK,
but before they were so hotly bididon and
contested, Ben sold in 1996,
October of £7,700.
That's going to be worth, that's good,
was that 50?
I don't know, it could be six figures.
I've fairly saw most like two or three
digits, and now six and six plus.
But it says, ATN is currently registered to a
black Land Rover, or Range Rover.
We've so far seen it on a C63,
a Range Rover Sport, and now an L405.
51:00 Number Plate Gift and Stories
Also William, he let a lovely note in that
book for us.
Would you like me to read that for you?
Yeah.
Ben wants it.
Well, it's dated as well.
It says from number point of history to dodgy
MOT shed TDC, and that's a bit harsh fare.
To Will, Edwin, Ben, and all those who make
shit possible.
Hell yeah.
Thank you for the years of entertainment.
So please, the risk has paid off.
Is it posh handwriting?
I think that's an end.
So please, the risk has paid off,
and that many more shitboxes will be lovingly
restored to their former glory from your
number plate friend, from your plate friend,
even Kit.
Shout out, Kit.
Jubot, I think that is your surname.
Okay, shout out, yeah.
Do you want to outline?
Oh well.
It's on his page.
AT&D sold in 1997.
This is just what I can find the last of it
sold for £6,500.
So less than Ben.
Do you want me to do a little conversion there?
Sure.
An inflation calculator.
What's that gonna be, sorry?
Bank of England, 96.
That is June 1997 for £6,500.
Surely they're both 6'3" of them plates.
Yeah, that's all a DB5.
So it's now on a DB5, so I wonder if that
might have changed hands privately without
being, this is only showing auction prices.
So that might be sales, even Ben might have
sold somewhere else for 100 grand,
who knows?
We were debating earlier whether AT&D,
it's a...
Oh, we're not good with an inflation
calculator, it's not a head.
What?
£6,500 now would be, sorry, £6,000 in the 96
would be £13,500.
No, I was saying it's worth now.
Oh, apologies, we're good then,
yep.
So it's a real inflation beta,
by example.
Oh yeah.
Invest in number plates.
But we're wondering, is it still bell-end to have that?
Yeah, double O7 and Bond plates on Aston
Mart, especially when it isn't a Bond car.
If I say it on a V8, anything that's not a
Bond car is, you are the ultimate,
you are cock, penis.
It makes my skin,
I would say, even on a DB5, unless you are
the current
actor.
No, even if you are the current actor for James Bond.
And that's even worse.
Horrible, that's awful.
Unless you're Sean Connery.
Unless you're Sean Connery.
That's the only person that...
Okay, fantastic.
Sean Connery is dead.
There's no need to research it.
But what I'm saying is, no one is James Bond.
And even James Bond wouldn't have Bond on a plate.
It would be, well, it wouldn't work with it,
as a sort of super spy.
Well, but I guess he does go around telling
people his name quite famously.
He does tell them Aston, I guess.
So, but I don't know, even if you own the car
from the movie, you can't have Bond on the plate.
It's just a bit sad.
That sort of classic mini, it just is Bond back.
He's not gonna work, is it?
Or Mark Wahlberg on it, on a new one.
Mark Wahlberg's in the remake of his talent.
Is he?
Yeah, sorry.
The reasons it's dreadful.
Does he talk to you about--
No, he's in the original.
The Bond films.
No.
Mark Wahlberg's in the original Italian job.
He's the guy the bulldozer at the beginning.
There's loads of really cool stories in there.
There's lots of really odd little plates.
There's lots of like just regular cars with
what plates that just are ridiculously expensive now.
Lots of really bad formats, lots of really
bad fonts on there.
But it's interesting, I quite like it.
Apparently there's this book is somewhat
readily available.
So it's just 2000s of shit.
Yeah.
It's so good.
I love it.
And there's loads of photos,
sort of roughly photoshopped.
Yeah, badly photoshopped places in there.
That's really great.
And it tells you what all number plate things
mean, which if you have what me and Edwin
have is very useful to know.
You can go, oh, BN, that'll be Birmingham.
Fantastic.
I didn't need to know that, but I didn't know.
But now I do and it's in my brain forever.
And now I can tell people, then we'll go,
I know, I'll talk to you.
That's for Birmingham, by the way.
Just put the fries in the bag,
bro.
Yeah.
Okay, back in your cell mate.
What we got?
Wait, sorry, I had a thought.
Go on.
Is that a car person thing?
What?
Whenever I buy a car, I always want to,
like, even if I don't know where it's from,
I have nowhere it's from.
I do know what, I actually think that might
be not that much for carpet.
I think number plates might be one of the
most accessible car nerdery things.
What I mean is that whenever I've had a car
and I thought it.
Yeah, you check where it's from.
I want to know, like, I'm an A3rd of the N,
which is Shropshire.
I know it was from then, my brother bought a
car with the N on it as well,
so we're both from Shropshire.
We're not, but the cars are.
I always have to know, and when I got the
Golf, that's KX, I think that's Kent.
Brose is doxy
himself.
Brose is doxy himself.
And then my postcode
starts with, he's, how's it?
(laughing)
I can't say a postcode.
(laughing)
That's what you think.
What I'm saying is, I think normal people are
kind of into number plates and things.
I know a lot of people who have no caring
cars, no caring cars, no care of cars,
but they will refer to their cars as their number plate.
They won't say like, I had a golf,
they're like, oh, I had like,
DN51.
Do you know all your plates?
Yeah.
All of them.
I mean, there might be a few.
I could do every single one.
Oh, I know every single one.
Or you can fact check it, people can run them
and see if they still go back to that car.
Well, a lot of them are dead.
Can I get the first five, please?
So first five being, Fiesta,
it was BNO60XJ, Alfa Brea was OU56LJF,
then I had--
LJF.
LJF.
Do you know what, that's one of them.
I never used to call it, but I always used to
see little Jeff.
I don't know why.
It was Jeff out there.
Hello, mate.
Focus ST was, oh, poo, FH57 XKB.
And then the focus, the RS rep,
that wasn't our five F and E.
was that four?
And then the M3 was EY53 UPB.
Nice.
So WNO3ZB is my golf, MX5 is P692UBD,
which is the VIN number should be NAHC 498718 on that.
And then what would be after that?
Why is he like this?
I do, I know the eight series is
WBAEG22030CB57272
That's wild.
That's tough.
Do you know what that is?
That's just me on Rio, I'm looking for parts.
I know this VIN number now.
There are some, definitely some I don't remember.
I don't remember my golf, a load of cars I
flip for money, I don't remember those.
You should know.
I don't know what it is, it's something I
could just remember every single one.
I know every single one.
I even know my parents' ones,
not my brothers' ones and stuff.
Yeah, parents' ones, mums' ones,
all that stuff.
Why is that?
What's the one that you remember that there's
no reason you should remember?
AD62E00
was my dad, I have a V60, I mean like 2012.
Yo.
Yo.
Yo.
I think I've said it on the podcast,
for some reason remember the Johnny English
DB7, which is OIO2USH.
No idea.
Just in my head forever.
From six years old, my
brain went capture that.
Well every time I buy a car,
it
captures it in my mind, it's fantastic.
Sometimes I remember people I've seen on the road.
That's not true.
No, no, it is, it's 'cause when you commute,
you do see your--
You get the same people.
Yeah, people.
And sometimes I'll see it, but even if
they're going the other way,
and I'll see it and I'll go,
I've recognized it almost pure,
'cause it's a normal car, but I've recognized
it purely based on the number plate.
I almost feel like there's a link here
between me and this part, and then I've got clues.
Yeah, I have the exact same thing.
They just see me grinning.
It's ugly.
You waving, go get it.
And a vase, oh you 56, wow.
Amazing.
Number plate's weird, it's a weird thing.
I think it's something, I know every country
will have it, 'cause everyone has custom
number plates, but I think we're,
I think we're especially tuned into number
plates, I love it.
Is the market, tell us, in Universal
Creamers, International Creamers even.
Is it one's out of the world?
Yeah, some of the moon.
Is what are number plates like in your country?
What is the market like?
'Cause here, you can spend millions on
number, you can spend, it's easy to spend
tens of thousands of spoons,
tens of thousands of spoons.
That's our currency.
On number five.
Is it like that?
Oh no, the US has got quite a big sort of
private reg type thing.
I don't know if the values are the same.
No, I don't, 'cause I think you,
I don't know, I won't speak out of term,
but it's not, it's easy, you have it for
yourself or you don't, or it's not available.
Either you can request it or you can't.
I know Middle East, there are some expensive,
there are some hundreds of thousands,
millions of pounds of number later.
But is it like, does it trickle down to,
'cause how many people here in the UK,
they're not even into cars, but they want a
private plate.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
They just bought an A class or one sale,
a car, but they want that private plate and
you're spending at least 250 pounds on any plate.
So I don't know if that culture spreads.
I also think there's levels to it where if
you're vaguely interested in plates,
you'll buy a, like one that's available on
the DVLA, you'll buy a F1 ABC.
Right.
And that's expensive.
Or even like any, you'll buy a current
registration, but a short one,
like a A1AA.
you get like properly into it.
Now you start looking at AA111 or 123,
like you start messing with the older format.
So you look for a two by two or like that
sort of stuff means you're properly into it.
It's mad that there's a whole subculture just
about the number plates on the cals.
Yeah.
It's crazy.
And they also like they're deemed an
investment, which is crazy to me.
I never really realized that's what number
plates were about.
I bought the plate on my golf and I bought it.
I thought this would be really cool.
I felt nothing towards it.
And then one day I walked out and I thought,
it was the next time at that time,
I thought, you know what, it just feels cool.
Just feels cool to have my plate.
It makes it feel like it's yours.
Yeah, every guitar.
It's wicks, I have the same thing.
I never cared about private plates,
but it's almost a game, not even to buy them,
just to look at what you can get.
Like, what word can I make that is funny for this car?
Like, when I have my Clio 182,
B-A-O-2, G-E-T, I never bought it 'cause I
couldn't afford it at the time,
but just the get on a plate.
It's funny.
That's a stupid thing to put on it,
but I like it and I want it.
You have to be creative.
So all these really fun things people do.
And it's really fun seeing a car and you look
at it and you go, "Oh yeah, that's a cool car."
And then you see the plate and you go,
"Oh, that's a, you've got a pro plate."
And then suddenly your brain goes,
"Hang on, that's meant to say that."
And then you have a little kiggle,
a little kind of...
Some of them are a bit crap.
There are some where you go,
"Ah, come on."
CEO.
Well, when you start, CEO plates,
they are boss.
I mean, CEO plates, they're relatively simple.
But like, when you get a boss plate,
it's BD55 and they're starting to mess with Fortite.
"Oh man, let's slow your roll."
1:02:00 McLaren Creamer in Prototype W1
"Oh, your roll."
Next.
"Ah, we have."
So we mentioned on a recent podcast about a
McLaren creamer.
Now, I think we do have multiple McLaren
creams, which is strange to us because you
have better things to be doing than listening
to us talk about cooking steak,
chow's presses and farts and what's...
And eggs and all the way.
And I see what the name of a particular
person, but I found out his name is Richard.
I won't say your surname 'cause I can't
remember if you said if I could or not,
but your name is Richard.
Not Richard Porter.
Not Richard Porter.
Or Richard Hammond.
No, yeah.
Or Richard Gere.
Fantastic.
He just say Richard.
His name's Richard and he works with McLaren.
But he heard, as mentioned this,
while he was driving essentially a sort of
prototype testing McLaren W1.
So, Creamers been listened to in a prototype W1.
Yeah.
They're like putting miles on for sort of
customer cars and not for customer cars,
but to do testing and stuff.
So, I've delivered your car.
It's now got 5K on it.
I've just listed your car, so I'll throw it
back, so don't worry about it.
Greg's office is all over it and he needs a service.
Also, it's got no fuel.
That would be the TDC manufacturing car company.
I don't care.
Just can't get your car.
I transport a steak for a HelloFresh advert
in your set of console.
So, yeah, we've had Creaming in an F40.
I believe we've had that once.
Yeah.
And then also, and now the W1.
Also, the F40 Champ, I've got your name.
He sent another email with a follow up.
There are more cool cars involved.
Dad's car.
So, it's very cool.
You know what?
Creaming in, Creaming in cool cars.
We love to hear them.
We love about that.
That's something that will get you on the podcast.
It might not get you a gold.
I'm a creamer shirt.
No.
Will, you know.
We have found the email.
The chap's name is James.
And I'm James.
James.
His name is James.
So, it was a half-flex.
It is mine, but it's my dad's.
I'm wearing some Japanese stuff at the moment.
We're a bit of a petrol head family.
He's had the car for nearly 20 years now.
So, it was a bit of a fair family heirloom 1989.
car.
We still do some basic work on it together,
if needed.
They aren't that difficult to work on.
So, you can be the clutch or change it
exhaust quite easily.
They also sent a video of what it was like
when it had a tube beyond it and had a
picture of it next to a kuntash as well.
So, that is huge.
That's very cool.
There's lots of cool cars being creamed inside.
Oh, goodness gracious me.
Well, James, you're a creamer of the week.
That's big.
Photos of inappropriate creaming locations
and creaming in cool cars, let's say.
We don't want videos, that's not safe.
That's not safe.
I don't want to open the inbox to something I
can't unsee.
Thank you.
Did we ever talk about that?
I think we did.
Did we talk about that on the box?
On car throttle?
Yeah, I don't know if we, I don't know how.
We'll save it for when we have a Patreon,
if we ever do that one.
Yeah.
I don't know how we describe it.
Yeah, we can't.
There's the box.
The box, the box?
I see the box.
No, you haven't.
You definitely haven't.
You haven't made seen the box.
Guarantee you, you haven't.
I have.
I think we...
I have.
Oh, actually, no, I showed it.
To Ben, that's true.
I sat in the box.
I did show him that.
It's a real idea.
I found it.
So, you have it somewhere?
Oh, no, it was Ben Copper all still live,
but we had access.
It actually really was a very unenjoyable
moment for me.
That was the odd thing.
My job then was to go through those videos
and imagine my shock, just like first thing
in the morning, like, right,
what more videos are people submitted?
I just go through and I go, this could be a funny one.
One day, one day, where we were able to
describe it in more detail, we will.
We won't dangle a carrot, but go,
God.
Yeah, I was wrong.
I'm the shower, buddy.
That's bad, no, no, no.
Okay, yeah, that has to be saved for Jesus.
Moving on, we'll have
a couple more things.
Sure.
So before we get to a final
one of the week, prompted by the Benjamin
over there, I'd
like to talk about this 458 manual bullshit.
I've got that just over here for you.
Now, I believe that there's a company called
Resvarnie, who made, I think they kind of got
a bit of a name and they made the tank,
which was this really, really interesting,
looking four by four thing.
I think they tend to sort of re-body other cars.
They did a 911 that looks, they did an R8
re-body thing anyway.
But they made this, there was a little bit of
some stuff online about this car,
'cause they're bloody hell.
It's a 458 manual.
It might either be a specialty.
Wow.
I can't remember.
But it's not.
It's a bit like the Ferrari thing,
the modern Ferrari thing.
But the thing is, it still shifts like a DCT.
So it's a dual clutch transmission.
There is no clutch pedal at all.
No clutch pedal, all you do is you shift
through the gears.
So it's like a switch.
It's just seeing where you click on it.
But in the video, as you remember,
I hear it here, but it changes gear instantly,
instantly.
But isn't that funny that if you explain to
someone in the early 2000s, we're bringing in
these flappy pedal gearboxes,
at some point, you'll be able to have a
manual that shifts as quick as an auto.
They'd be like, that's the best of both worlds.
But meanwhile, people in now on 2026 go,
I don't care.
I want it to be slow.
I want it to be with, you know,
I want to slip the clutch like an idiot.
It's weird that people want it to be worse.
But they reckon, 'cause I think that they
actually commented on it, 'cause there's a
few people said, no clutch, this is not a manual.
Yeah.
Even the Ferrari one, it has a clutch,
they've engineered it, so it feels like a manual.
There's no instant gear change,
it can stall, it can do all this kind of stuff.
Whereas this doesn't do that.
It just works like a dual clutch.
'Cause they said, people don't want the clutch pedal.
They just want the feeling of shifting gear
in a manual.
I don't think that's true at all.
It's simply not true at all.
Also, it does sound good.
If you listen to the video, it has that very
gated manual, that noise, I don't know what
it feels like, but it sounds like it feels good.
But I don't think that's true at all.
You can't-
It's just mechanical.
It's mechanical.
This is mechanical shifter, it's not
mechanical at all.
I guess you can argue it's mechanical.
'Cause you're moving the lever.
If there is something mechanical making it
feel like that.
It's not mechanical.
But it's still operating a switch.
I argue that is not mechanical at all.
That might have rods still going to a box
that I don't know how it works.
And then the paddle shifter is a mechanical
because you're pulling the physical thing of
the paddle shifter.
Yeah, no, of course it's not correct.
But I'd be interested to see it or try it.
'Cause that must be a very weird sensation.
Your muscle memory will say,
go to reach for the gear shifter,
now move that leg into the clutch.
But you'd forget to, you wouldn't have it.
It's not even like flat shifting.
There is no clutch.
It's like using one of those old thrust
master steering wheels that has the little
gear knob to your side with two pedals and
you're just wagging it into gear.
Playing that Need for Speed arcade game
because you've got like four gears or something.
I just think there's cack.
I mean, I don't know, maybe they've made it,
maybe there's an audience for it,
I've got no idea.
But it feels like you're kind of ruining a
458 with something that's a bit shit.
Especially, I think it looks odd.
It doesn't suit a 458's interior.
I also, I don't know, like, I love manual cars.
If I have the option, I'd like the manual
over the auto.
But the 458 is an auto car.
That's the whole thing.
The whole, like, if yeah, if you're looking
at a Ferrari 360, you'd probably want the
manual over there.
The F1.
And I'd even consider converting a car.
But the 458 is an auto car.
That's the whole thing.
So I don't know, it's weird.
I see people doing it with the E55 as well.
I don't
get it.
But this feels odd considering the 458's are
going up in value.
So then do that then.
Well, what they've said is it's completely reversible.
So it's kind of plug and play.
So the little bit it goes into,
just goes into whatever the usual shifter bit is.
So it can be removed.
It doesn't change anything related to the gearbox.
So I imagine all it's some kind of box or whatever.
It's just interpreting.
It's almost like doing what the paddles do,
but obviously just making each individual gear.
But I just thought it was odd.
Sure.
I just looked at it and I thought like the
Ferrari one was kind of like,
you know, I'm not sure.
But that interest me, but that feels like a
super budget version.
The Ferrari one, I'd love to,
if they're saying it's like an actual manual,
there's a biting point, there's all this kind
of stuff, then fair, but that.
Do you know what I'd like to do?
I'd like to put someone who's like vaguely
interested in cars, but not,
like someone like my dad, who drives manual,
but doesn't keep in contact like in touch
with news and stuff, where he'd,
you say to the, like go get in this Ferrari
and see how it drives, because we would have
preconception about like, I feel like I can
feel something like, you know,
electric in there, but could like a normal
person that just drives a manual normally,
tell that it's not actually doing anything in
there, it'd be interesting to see that.
Because I have a feeling, a lot of people
would be like, yeah, it just feels like a normal manual.
Well, that's what Ferrari are doing,
they've told everyone it's electronic,
so they'll drive it and go, this is,
that's bullshit.
Yeah, they can make it, it's fake.
And it's actually a proper manual kitbox.
Journalists all over the globe quitting their jobs.
Shit, we're onto you Ferrari.
But I don't like that, I think that's wack.
No, I'm not a fan, let's not do that.
So we hadn't done it on a want of the week.
Let's do it.
We kind of teed it up at the beginning,
we had a lot of wants in there,
but mine is because of the softness and the
waftness of earlier.
I'm back on wanting a 90s Bentley Continental.
I so very want one, I'll pull up a photo.
They're just, to me, it's still my ultimate
build, which is weird because I'm not into
those sort of cars.
But an old Bentley Continental with a Hellcat
engine is my guy.
There we go, there's a photo,
there's a mull and a wide body.
The other reason I've been wanting one of
these recently is that I bought a,
we were talking before about old magazines
and I went on eBay and bought a load of old
Ferrari 550 magazines, just magazines that
have like in-period tests.
It's just cool, I like reading old magazines.
one that was a, like a super,
they're like a super grand tourer test with
one of these, a late 90s Bentley Continental,
it was an RRT against a 550 and there was a
shot of two of them sick and I was like,
that is, that's the big, that's the biggest
two car garage.
Daily, Bentley, but with a Hellcat engine in
it that goes, no one, suit.
And then a 550, just the coolest thing.
I realize I'm a millennium man.
The turn of the millennium is my group,
is my gang of people.
That's where I'm happiest of 1990s.
99 to like 01/10.
I was born and went, whatever's going on
right now, fan of it.
Remember this, future me, keep this in mind.
I'll be back in a bit.
So that's my, that's my one of the week.
And obviously a 550.
550 is my one of the week every week.
I will.
What will mine be?
I had an urge earlier on to the Bentley,
I'm also Bentley, but the Continental GT Speed.
Yeah, so it has the nice wheels.
One with the Veyron.
Super Sport, Super Sport, that's the one.
Super Sport, I like that kit.
I would also be the scumbag that buys a normal one.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I'm not messing around with that stupid convertible shit.
I would potentially buy a normal one and kit it.
I know that is like ultimate scumbag 101 to
do that, but I just think that kit looks so
much more aggressive and nice and cool.
And it's the headlight, I think the
headlights have got a darker insert as well,
which is a big difference.
My problem is is that I would yearn for one a
genuine one that has the begatty or the same
seats as a Veyron, but one, they're incredibly expensive.
And if you wanted to replicate that,
you can't.
Yeah, there isn't an option for that.
You could put a bucket seat in there,
but it's never going to be a Veyron.
Charlie Balban, China have not yet got around
to getting an original Veyron seat and copying it.
Yeah, it's not happened.
At some point, maybe they will,
but they might.
They might maybe got to send some scans out.
Yeah, Mark, Mark, can I just come around and
see your car quickly?
He doesn't have those seats,
can't they?
No, he's got the comfort guys.
whatever they're called.
But I just think that that little era of
continental is still so fantastic looking.
They are a little bit footballer,
but I just think they're cool.
And it's a good, just an ultimate waft machine.
But my actual one for the week,
my real answer is an R8 V10 manual.
Wow, I've been looking at them and I really
can't do that at all.
No, but they feel like the whole manual thing
that everyone's talking about and everything
that's a manual and is rare in the 2000s is
1:14:00 Desire for R8 V10 Manual and Continental GT Speed
shot up in price, but they have seemed to
kind of sat back a little bit.
Yeah.
They're still worth, do you like the,
do you like facelift or pre facelift?
I don't think I'd care.
Okay.
As long as, wow, now here's the question,
you want a manual.
I have a manual, yeah.
But to own, if you were to own it just to
have for yourself, probably,
could you have an S-tronic?
Because we've heard a couple of,
I've heard a couple of videos,
I'm a V10 manual man, but I've heard a video
the other day again of a S-tronic,
which is the like DSG, fast shifting,
a V8 DSG.
But I did even know that was a thing.
Incredible noise.
And then there was a chap I saw on YouTube,
I think you had one, an S-tronic V8,
and there was a launch.
My God, to get on YouTube and look up at a
V-A-R-A-S-tronic specifically launch control,
and especially if it's got a spicy exhaust,
and do not tell me that your penis doesn't
point in a different direction at the end of that video.
Because it absolutely has to.
I think a V8 manual still works out.
To our female viewers, you too,
I guess.
Because does, then fine.
Yeah, a V8 manual is still a good thing.
I just think of, I know people go,
it's not the V10, but a manual mid-engine V8.
I know it's not a supercar now,
but it is essentially a supercar.
I was trying to explain this to my girlfriend
the other day when she was asking why they're
going up, 'cause to her, she's like,
that looks kind of normal.
I said, I think that car, oh yeah,
and all right, is, like what your girlfriend
once said about a krairie GT that said,
it just looks like a boxer.
Which is tough, which is true,
to a normal car, a non-car person,
it does.
Sacrilege.
The R8, to me, was the beginning of a new era
of supercars.
The R8 was the beginning of 458 of,
like, not DBS, I guess, DBS a little bit
earlier, but that new generation,
to be honest, Ben's generation.
That's your generation of supercars.
I think that's the beginning of it,
and that's like the cornerstone of the
beginning of it.
That's the boys.
If I was gonna use it all the time,
I'd probably pick an astronaut,
'cause it's just, they're just a great gearbox.
But just having them at one,
'cause you know it's gonna just rock it in,
but I think they will rock it in value.
But it is essentially a manual glardo.
Yeah.
If the similar gen 5 for 2v10,
manual gearbox is very, very similar,
just doesn't look quite as extreme.
The equivalent Lamborghini is 200 plus,
thousand pounds now, for something with low mileage.
You're probably at least spinning a 150,
and R8's half that.
But I think they were not far off half what
they are now though, so they kind of on their way.
I also think that the first generation is
going to spend, well, that the second
generation is going to lag behind quite a lot
on the first generation.
I think there's so many of the second,
same thing with hurricanes.
It'll take a while for those to go up anymore.
But also they're all astronaut.
Yeah, that's what I think a lot of people are
kind of searching for.
They want this next car.
And again, a lot of it comes down to numbers,
is the R8, they made a lot of them,
like the glardo, they made a lot of them,
but the ones that worth money are the manuals.
And that's partly because of the manual
thing, it's also partly because there are
only, I think there's only 400 manual R8 V10s.
Is that how?
So I think it's like 430 or something.
There was a brief research I did,
that was the number I could find.
And if you get one even later in some of the
years, it's like if you get to like 2012,
2013, there are single digits.
Whoa.
I had no idea that, that's crazy.
'Cause everyone, when they got the V10,
I was like, well, I want the auto obviously,
'cause that's the cool thing.
So yeah, I don't know what it's like on
manual V8s, but I think either of those cars
in manual is a fantastic.
Fantastic.
So totally, 24,000 of the first generation R8 were built.
Jesus.
That's a lot.
That's a lot of cars.
So, and then suppose, yeah, less than 10,
less than 15% of that is a rough estimation
here, but then that must be even less.
But that's crazy.
I said that a lot of that's gonna be manual V8s.
V8s here, exactly.
So V10s are probably a very small minority,
that Benjamin.
For me, it's a Rolls-Royce Wraith.
Why is that then?
I just liked them a lot.
Okay.
They look cool.
And I would like to walk about in one.
Rather, I will say, sorry to piss on your conflicts.
I don't care.
But seeing you in it would look like you've
sort of ferris Bueller.
Because I am a man of great poshness.
No, I think a phantom, he looks like he's
taken, he's served Benjamin Sugar.
His dad's in London, he's borrowed the Phantom.
I think he's a passenger seat Rolls Royce.
Yeah, but a Wraith or a Dawn,
Ben, I see Ben a little bit more in.
That works a bit more.
But also, I'm not saying like a rapper spec
where it's like a satin black middle section
with a black, everything's murdered out.
I'm thinking for me, it would be black.
But I'd be pretty happy with that.
I like the shade, I just didn't like these sort of.
A black and silver two tone.
Oh, okay.
That's okay.
Old school Phantom style.
This is okay, which is full black,
full black, but it has like the chrome bits
on it still.
Now the thing, I always think about this with
cars like this, like if I wanted M3,
1:19:00 Rolls-Royce Wraith Preferences
I wanted an Oxford green one,
I searched away a bit.
Rolls Royce is a so custom that to find your
spec, you just have to hope that someone
specks them in that, like you might just find
that no one did a two tone in it and you have
to do it custom afterwards or deal with just
a full black one.
It's not like a readily available,
you might go, all right, call it silver and
black, but someone's made it green inside.
You can't find another one.
I'm changing it, I showed it on silver black,
that's tacky.
I want, no, I still imagine,
I don't know, but all black like that on the
sunscreen, but I imagine that with a nice
little plum interior.
Something a bit zesty inside,
yeah.
So I'll have some tints on it,
so no one can see inside, but when you get in
there, your own little Rolls Royce,
it's all,
You don't want to go the, what are they called?
What's the one?
Man, sorry.
No, I want to go like some bright light blue or orange.
No, I want plum.
Just the thought, would you have the stars in
your Wraith?
Yes, and they'd make, basically.
(laughing)
God, they're making us behave.
Yeah.
(laughing)
Yeah, I'd have a black hole plum interior.
I don't know what I'm imagining now.
That just feels--
I just feel a little bit deeler speck.
Does it?
Yeah, it really does.
Does it?
I'd say so.
That feels nice.
Well, yeah.
(laughing) I do not, I like that the one,
when we filmed the Collecting Cars with the
Air with Nick Sinks Hota and had a,
Dawn, Ben have a look on the screen quickly.
No, not that.
No, don't tell me that's not.
No, no, that's like--
So for audio listeners, I've just pulled up a
Wraith that has a purple into--
What have you got out of that?
No, no, no, no.
No, type in Plum interior, or like a Mose.
Ben, what do you think I did on Google?
(laughing)
As I said, this is the thing.
You have to hope that some--
A dark, ready purple.
Okay, like an oxblood.
Oxblood.
You're not, Ben's a Rolls-Royce customer.
Yeah.
Ben's going into the spectrum and they go,
what about this side?
He's the one who brings in.
Let me see an oxblood.
I have this cushion at home,
you see.
And I want to do this actually.
This is the color in the PJ.
Can we match that?
The creamers know what I'm talking about.
I don't think they do.
They're all going, what is he talking about?
I want like a dark oxblood, but I want it to
be a bit more purple in there.
A little bit more, like a little bit,
ooh.
Dark oxblood, but also not oxblood.
No, like sort of plum blood.
Okay, plum blood.
Oh, that doesn't sound good at all.
But yeah, next one was wonderful.
'Cause it's the press car.
Have you seen the top gear?
The blue door.
Yeah, the silver center and the white interior.
With the teak guy in the back.
In a car, it really goes off.
I don't like wood, but that's a wood I can tell.
There is an option in C7 Audi A6 all roads,
the ones that I'm obsessed with.
You can have a teak center console,
and it looks like the dawn kind of center.
Every time I see it, I'm like,
why is that in an Audi A6?
What were we doing with that?
That's cool.
Q7 V12, I think it was a thing.
Yeah, same looking thing.
The press car, which I drove many moons ago,
had that, that like wood everywhere.
I think it was in the boot, mostly.
1:22:00 Audi A6 Teak Interior
and it's tangent, but there was a Q7 V12 that
went through an auction, possibly bottoms,
I can't remember, but like it said,
estimate seven to eight thousand euros.
And it was like on its ass, loads of issues,
but it was like low mile Q7 V12.
We was like, this is it.
The ML's replacement's finally up.
I think it sold for 28,000 euros.
Yeah, unfortunately not.
Look at that.
It's teak inside an Audi A6 for all the others.
Like a yacht.
Yeah, looking like a yacht, which makes sense
in a Rolls Royce, but why?
It's you know, mid-upwardly mobile A6.
Yeah.
Yeah, a Rolls.
Yeah, I could see you in the back of a Rolls.
But in a kind of in a sort of TV series where
you are a young
money.
You're an annoying YouTuber.
Yeah.
Who's just
on his phone.
Speak constantly in the back of his orange Rolls Royce.
Oh, meanwhile, Ben, on his phone currently.
Just text me.
No, I'm trying to find it like an interior I mean.
Joe, oxblood maybe.
Imagine oxblood.
Kevin McLaren, oh yeah, C.A.
Wait.
I'll pull it up on here.
MacKaren Space.
Yep.
C-A-S-S.
Yep.
C-A-S-S.
Here we go.
There you go, Ben.
I'll pull it up on the photo.
Yes, yes, yes, yes.
But even more purple in there.
Like a little, yeah, that's what I want.
Joe, even more purple than that is the exact thing.
No, that's it.
Ignore what I just said.
Okay.
This is not enjoyable for audio listeners.
You would like a Rolls Royce.
C-A-C-A, Cassis, Cassis Interior.
Look it up.
All right, fair.
So that's where you are.
So Joe, it's been an expensive week for one
of the week.
Yeah.
We've all been bent these on Rolls Royce.
Oh, I can, we've got a lot of money to spend.
We don't.
There's a lot of money that needs to be,
no.
Needs to be crazy.
There's a lot of money required.
Yes.
That needs to be spent.
You just said, I reckon we've got a lot of
money to spend.
Not true.
When I say we, I mean you.
Also, this is why I love you.
I'll do one of the week because next week it
will be, I want a 1.25 Fiesta.
I've got, I've gone from Honda Acti to Rolls
Royce, right?
They can't really get any of that.
So I think that's a good place to leave it.
We will see you next week, caught up in time,
back on the Korean podcast for episode 105.
(gasps) Alfa 105.
It will still look like this and be as rusty
as it was.
Maybe not.
Maybe not.
Thank you very much for listening.
We'll see you next week as always.
Make sure you get your merch at carsrule.shop
and see you then, cream get the money.
