0:00 Rule or Ruin: Edwin's New Mercier Margo
I was a shepherd, but I refused to take my trousers off.
He
mouthed at me, use your brain.
Do you know what?
More
cutting than any swear word.
I do regret selling that car.
Or ruin everything around us this week.
Ben, I'm going to rock with a rule today.
Oh, okay.
My one singular car seems
to be pretty happy.
Oh, no, I'm not.
It's a ruin.
Sorry.
I was going to say it felt like it gambled together.
They sneak up on you those ruins.
Also, three seconds.
Yeah.
Three seconds and then went,
that's it.
I realized.
The stats guy went-- Oh, I was thinking beforehand.
Sure, there's a reason to ruin.
There is.
Is currently 35 degrees?
Sure.
Sure.
Whatever that is in American language.
Lots.
That's 6 billion, I think.
1990.
And my golf, which is fantastic,
has no air con.
I think I've heard you on this podcast say my
golf, which is amazing, but more than anything else.
No.
What's it giving you?
Comfort.
I thought you could say something else.
No, but there are so many downsides.
What are the positives at this stage?
It's a great car.
Okay.
There's two downsides.
Chris Harris, let's go.
Three downsides.
All right.
Three downsides.
First one being the seats could be come for you.
Oh, how long do you know?
They could be a little bit, they're quite
supportive, but they could be a bit more like
sort of ways off.
That's nice.
Okay.
'Cause I had my X5 before, it was really comfy.
Okay.
Number two.
So comfort, not great.
No comfort is good, but it could be better.
Okay.
One has to be clear here.
Perfectioner.
Number two, that's number one.
Number two is, it burns oil.
Okay, so reliability, not background.
No, it just goes through a bit of oil.
It's a running cost.
It's cool at a sunk cost.
Sure.
Okay.
And number three is it has no icon.
Now, the aircon is fixable.
That's sure.
It's all fixable.
Yeah, it depends on your budget.
I just haven't.
You haven't done that.
I haven't done that yet.
So it's been very hot.
To be fair, it's very hard to book that sort
of thing in.
Yeah.
Like you have to phone a place.
Some will actually go somewhere or even do it yourself.
Okay.
And that's like at home.
It's a tough world.
It's a crazy world, whatever.
I looked and everyone was fully booked for
the next two weeks.
Wow.
That's weird.
That makes sense.
Well, I don't actually understand this,
but something to do with the fact that they
switched over the actual gas and aircon.
Correct.
In 2013, apparently.
Because my car's 2013.
No site knows exactly.
It may be the one gas might be the other.
The difference in price is that,
and whether they have that same gas and a place depends.
So I might show up and it might go,
"We ain't got your gas, son."
The old one was black and white.
Yeah.
That's a switch to color.
Yeah, it did.
And it's DAB now.
So now all of it will just come digitally.
You don't have to have the aerials.
They'll be able to switch off.
Exactly.
Yeah.
I don't have any reason to ruin,
but I did learn yesterday that the Golf has
launch control.
Yeah.
Like legit launch control.
And how have you found that?
Because I was sat at traffic light and for
some reason I thought, "Does it have launch control?"
I just thought, "How would you use the launch control?"
So I turned traction off, put it into sport,
just mashed the accelerator and put my
thought on the brake.
And it does actually launch control.
Now, famously, I'd like you to do an
impression of a Golf for our launch control,
please.
Yes, it would be.
Can it?
Bit too will, if you could.
Very good, yes.
Very good.
How's the GTD?
It's all right.
So lower, a little bit lower.
Well, because it's obviously,
it's diesel.
Turbo.
Turbo's on the way out.
That was your clutch going, "Ah!"
I haven't actually tried it properly yet.
I just know that it can do it.
But that's not what you said earlier.
Are you sure it's not just a limiter?
You
said earlier.
No, it's launch control.
In gear.
Because it doesn't, if it was in gear,
it would try and jolt forward or you could
feel it on the brake.
But how do you know?
Because you said you haven't tried it.
control and let it sit there.
Because earlier, you said you've been racing
people from lights.
Did I say that?
Yeah, I think you did legally binding.
You told us you smoked McLaren on the way in.
Yeah, sure.
Yeah, yeah.
But he pulled over and he said,
"What have you got in that thing?"
And you went to the common rail injection system.
More than you could afford power.
It is the TDI.
No, I haven't tried it properly yet.
I'm a bit scared to because I don't want to
mash my clutches.
And it feels pointless.
Clutch E on its way out.
Not again.
Old school creamers will know.
Okay, so it's a ruin because you don't have AC.
No AC and it's so hot.
And I have to run an hour and 10 minutes home.
But also, yeah, you moved recently,
which means you're commute.
You no longer have this thing to hold on to
where you're like, "I drive so far."
I see you drive quite far, but yeah.
Ben now lives at number seven.
Downings.
Just not in the main house.
Down the road.
Yeah, I couldn't quite get into the main one,
but yeah.
We can now.
Yeah.
Try and squeeze them away and couldn't I?
As always.
What about, well, you might not have one car
for that long, because there might be,
well, it's not going to be your car.
No.
It's going to be a car for you to drive.
But there is opportunity, I believe,
to potentially buy off the business after.
We drive a hard bargain.
Essentially, we're going to the Nürburgring
in two weeks.
And there's a lot of people always go,
"Nürburgring, boring."
Maybe it is to watch it a thousand times on
YouTube, but it's very fun to go.
Also, we're excited.
Stuff yourself.
had it been once.
Also, Will went once in the boring range.
That was your first time.
My first time.
Even I'd been before that.
Oh, good.
I haven't done anything correlated.
You were in the back seat of a golf,
to be fair.
It's not like you were lapping in a GTT or X.
How do you know?
Why was there?
Oh, yeah, fair.
So we're going to the Nürburgring soon,
and we're looking for a car for young
Benjamin to drive.
Build him a little, something we got
literally three or four days to buy a car and build it.
But we think we can come up with something
that might be quite fun for a little Benjamin to drive.
Well, actually, can I say something?
This is the most nervous I've been for a
video in quite a while.
Oh, sure.
I'm nervous for the, 'cause we did two
episodes, but then one episode we buy it and
one episode where we modify it and take it to the ring.
I'm quite nervous for the buying because
originally I was part of this,
but now it's sort of changed to now these guys.
Tomorrow we're going to buy something.
We're going to buy it without Ben,
so this will be interesting.
Which I'm actually, even though it's not my
car, I'm just nervous about it,
because I have to drive it so far.
Well, I've also never driven abroad before.
The highest bidder currently on something.
Now, I can say it because it will be done by
the time this podcast comes out.
We're the highest bidder.
I'm not going to show you a photo,
but please feel free to search it up.
The highest bidder currently on the C.A.B.
Flipper.
Now, just go ahead and search it yourself.
I don't want to say we're following in the footsteps.
I don't want to say we're standing on the
shoulders of giants, but when they talk about
the second coming, it really is.
The C.A.B.
Flipper.
We might have lost it.
We might have won it.
I hope we'll find out too.
That's how I'm driving.
Ben.
That would be tough.
I'm nervous for that.
And the second episode I'm nervous for,
because I originally thought the plan was
that we're not going to do a road trip or
anything, but I think we might have thought a
bit of it.
We're driving from England to Germany,
so most would call that a road trip.
You said like we're not going to film the
whole road trip, and it's like a massive
episode of that.
No, no.
But there is a bit at the end where we think
we'll try and do a little lap of Nurburgring
as nice ending to the video.
Little Benjamin's first lap.
Which I thought would be the boys in the car,
and I'll be there and you'll be,
and you'll be, but then you said to me,
my alarm's going off.
Tell everyone what the alarm's for.
No.
What's the alarm for?
I haven't got any food for dinner.
So I have to buy dinner on the way home.
I was going to forget to buy dinner and I'll
get home and what, how many?
It said all that.
It said buy dinner.
Okay.
I'll sort of give it a context.
I'm nervous for that a lot, because now I've
been told that potentially we're going to go
as a, not like racing at all,
but like just a nice general lap,
three of us, potentially in our cars.
I said it could be an option,
because I, being a passenger in a track car,
really, I know you're not going to be driving
in like a track car.
No.
But it's not enjoyable.
Being a passenger is not great.
It's not fun.
But you know what, we'll do it.
The three of us will go out and then we'll do
some laps afterwards in separate cars.
Like Le Mans 66.
I feel...
But the end.
Because it's not, I'm not scared of,
I'm not that scared of necessarily my ability
in terms of I'm not going to go...
Of course you're not.
No, I'm not going to go that fast,
because I'm just going to go gentle with it.
But I'm scared of other cars.
Of course.
Seven minutes.
Yeah.
I'm not going for a six, maybe a seven,
yeah.
I hate that.
Yeah, I don't know.
I feel really quite nervous for,
I don't know what it's really getting to me.
So we'll see.
We'll see if Ben's alive in the next episode.
Tomorrow's the day, we will find a car.
And obviously fortunately this podcast is
also sponsored by our boys at Car Vertical.
But tomorrow there will be heavy usage of the
Car Vertical app.
So expect there to be great traffic.
Car Vertical tomorrow, because we will be using it.
We're seeing a spike in that.
We've got some options.
Obviously we've been looking at some TTs.
Ben knows about those TT mark ones.
Obviously TTs, we looked at them.
It's a little bit like the golf scene.
I mentioned this last week, but where some
are good and others are not.
And that's where Car Vertical,
we do report and it says, yo,
don't buy that.
That's gotten by the discrepancy.
It says 30,000 miles, but in fact,
it's a 930,000 or something.
But Car Vertical tells you about any mileage
issues, whether it's been crashed,
whether it's been stolen passed,
some people don't list this stuff,
which is not ideal, but Car Vertical is their savior ass.
And as always, you get 20% off.
If you use our code CREME, please use that.
If you are going to do one, it helps support
us on the podcast.
You can bundle them together and get up to
50% off across your Car Verticals.
Shout out, Car Vertical.
William, I was going to say Rowan.
Okay, okay.
Because I've got reasons to Rowan.
You have, there are many reasons to Rowan.
But we'll start off with a rule.
Because I think it's an overall rule.
Because on Friday, I will pick up the Mercier Margo.
So my first drive in the Mercier Margo will
be a commute to here.
That's nice.
Which will be interesting.
That'll be the first time that the longest
journey that Car has done in about six years.
But that car now is taxed.
It is MOT.
Can't remember if it was MOT last time we did a podcast.
I think it had just been MOT.
But yeah, so it does have an MOT now.
And it's ready to go, basically.
It's ready to drive.
I think a SBR have fixed a bunch of small issues.
I'm very, very happy about the ham.
The ham.
That reminds us of our preamble.
What is the best type of pork?
Can we
class like a pancetta or like a guanciale?
Of course, of
course.
Is a guanciale.
They
have been some issues that have popped up
that are unsavory.
They're not like day-enders,
but they're sort of looming in the distance.
So there's a couple of things.
It'll be in the YouTube video coming up.
Basically, there's a sensor on that car that
needs to be replaced.
The guys at SBR have spent coming up for
three days trying to remove the sensor.
And the sensor, that's fine.
Like if it stops working, the car can run,
right?
Yeah, no, just if it fails, the sensor.
Worst best case, you just get an engine light.
Right.
Right.
Maybe some slightly dodgy running here and there.
Worst case, the car just won't ever start.
So if I ever get to that point where that
sensor causes an issue, where it doesn't
start, the engine needs to come out.
So they can't remove the sensor.
It's seized in the bell housing,
which is very hard to get to,
because obviously the gearbox is basically
bang in the middle of the car where you can't get.
And to get access to that, you need the
engine out and to get the engine out is
about, I think book times 40 hours.
It's like three to four days in and out.
It can be.
Obviously people have worked there.
I have to do it sooner.
I knew that I would need that job eventually,
just not quite yet.
So I'm going to pick it up Friday,
see how it goes, live with an engine.
engine light for a while.
That's fine.
It seems to be relatively intermittent,
but if it picks up, then, oh,
but there will be a video hopefully on that
car somewhat soon where we went to SBR,
had a look around it.
Oh, so did I talk about my key L?
I don't think we did.
No, I don't think we did.
We had a key L.
So got the car, I won't say who was involved.
People were involved and it wasn't related to
me or SBR by any means.
Had the car taken to SBR, car got there,
didn't have the key there, despite the key
being there, about an hour prior.
So the key went missing, turned out the key
was about five minutes down the road here,
smashed pieces, run over.
So it had been dropped on the floor and the
fob for the original alarm system had been
smashed a bit, which meant that the car was
bricked, like bricked up.
So it wouldn't start dead.
So Stuart had to do some wiring that day to
basically delete the immobilizer,
so that's gone.
What else?
So that should really all be a ruin.
And then I have another, I have a Mégane L
ruin, but I'll get onto it.
to that a little bit later on,
we will get this annoying.
And I actually, the L got heavier.
Just moments before the podcast started.
I came over the crest of the L and was seeing
the next hill, which was a W.
Yeah.
And then
13:13 Nürburgring Preparation and Car Purchase Plans
I fell into a hole.
Pot hole.
Just fell in this like, this booby trap that
was full of Ls.
Out of nowhere.
Yeah, it was an L-shaped booby trap when they
went, so I need to fix that to prep for another ring.
But yeah, I rule over all just because yeah,
mercy on it's gonna be cool.
Trying to work out, I've been trying to work,
I'm 50/50.
You know what, I'm gonna say it's a rule
because in the same breath, same prep for the
Nurburgring behind me, we have the E46M3.
I think we might have talked about it last
week that it came back from bodywork and the
paint is the wrong color and is very upsetting.
But I have now spent the weekend on it
getting a load of stuff done.
So I've done a, it's called a black tag rack.
So it means the steering rack's much quicker
that a CSF oil cooler, because it starts to
get a little bit hot sometimes and a load of
other bits and bobs that more than that.
I asked EBC for some breaks and they very
kind of sent them out and I gave them to
Chris at Imagination Creations.
He painted them cream and I got our new cream
logo, which you'll see on the merch in the future.
I got that put on the calipers.
It looks so cool.
We'll put a photo on screen.
It's, I genuinely the most, most happy with a
mod I've ever been in my life.
So the front ones are on at the moment.
After the podcast is done, I'm going to do
the rears because I've got matching rears.
I love it.
I love also green and cream.
It works.
It really works nicely.
So still lots more to do on the E46.
So that's my rule part.
My ruin is that at the beginning of last
week, I realized I do not have a car.
I have, I have many countless cars and none
of them work.
None of them.
So I thought I'll get my silver E36 going.
I'll take it for an MOT.
That car was pretty nice.
I looked at the advisories from the previous
MOT, rear tires, front pads,
did them both, took it to and they went,
brake lines, they're shit.
They are a second strikes back.
And this was a, this was not a,
a an MOT tester that was supposed to be,
you know, a hard arse.
It was supposedly, an MOT said a lot,
but lots of people we know have taken their
cars to and be like, yeah, finally,
they're okay with old cars.
And they said, no, rear brake lines are terrible.
I started replacing them just fine.
Just completely fine rear brake lines.
So I've been working on that for two,
three days now, finished it last night at
about 10 o'clock.
Pushed the brake pedal.
Everything fine, no leaks.
Went to bleed it.
And now nothing came out.
That's weird.
I kept on doing the brake nipple.
Nothing came out.
Yeah, because the soft lines that were fine
up until working on the brake lines,
they'd both collapsed.
Did one side until, that's annoying.
I'll get order of brake line three days out and delivery.
I'll just bleed the other side.
No, that one had collapsed too.
So there has been any 36 stuck on jack stands
for maybe a week and a half,
two weeks now.
I feel like a credit.
just have all my cars here broken in
different states of affair.
But overall a rule, because I got cream
branded E46 M3 brakes.
Which is cool.
That's cool.
If the green E46 wasn't obviously Edwin's car
anymore, now you'll know.
Now you'll know when you see the cream
calipers coming at you.
The creammobile heading into the side of a
barrier at 120 miles an hour.
So what's that?
Two rules?
That's three rules.
No, Ben changed to ruin.
Sorry, man.
Two rules are ruined.
Everything.
Also, I forgot, actually, there are now
martial auger t-shirts.
They're on the iconbox.com shop.
And then after that, you
have to find your own way.
But they're very cool.
There's
some martial auger t-shirts with my actual car on.
They say generational debt on them,
which is exactly what I've introduced to my bloodline.
What should we start with?
Let's
start.
You know what, Ben, I want to,
because I'm intrigued to know what this is.
Yeah, man.
You've put in here, Ben.
I actually want to say the first two things
you have put in here, I think you did it
after maybe eight biz.
But anyway, this one just says,
Ben right L.
Right as in, what's that mean?
Ben, right.
No, that's for me to write the L to you from last week.
Okay, so, and if you've done that.
I haven't had time yet.
You haven't had time.
Meanwhile, you're sitting on your phone,
you know, first 20 minutes as a podcast.
20 minutes to write with that quill.
Are you joking?
Okay, quill.
So you're going to write me an L.
But for the next week now, Poss will be my
name, Tim Dutton.
How about this?
Next few podcasts, W.A.M.
Well, just below that, we have what says
here, a potential bet alteration,
which so must involve an L.
This came from a commenter, and I don't know
who you are.
I don't know where you commented,
but, but.
Right, Liam Meeson.
But I'm finding you.
So our bet about me saying the S2000 was that
I would have saw it by Summer Solstice.
Happy Summer Solstice, guys.
Yesterday.
Yesterday was Summer Solstice.
Sunday, Sunday.
Sunday.
So that's now been in gone.
Now, on the next bet was that I will not buy
another car, you think, before next year.
Now, originally, you suggested Christmas.
Right.
Here we go.
This is interesting.
Sorry.
Now you.
Strings.
I thought you thought you said Christmas.
I said by the end of the year,
and you came back to me and said,
Christmas.
Oh, sorry.
Well, I want to change it again.
Oh, no, actually.
You could be right.
I want to change it again.
You could be right.
Anyway.
Well, because I tell you there's extra days
to buy a car.
Yeah, extra days.
There's work out that way.
So I want to change it.
in a negative way, but I'll do it to the meme.
Okay.
Winter Solstice.
Why?
Why?
December 21st.
Now, why do you want that?
Because we've done the summer solstice.
Okay.
So now we should do winter solstice.
If we're going to make that,
we should do it a lot.
Okay, so once again, once again,
once again back.
So Will, I will shake your hand on winter
solstice December 21st.
You don't?
Well, I mean, either of them work.
I mean, the birth of David Jesus and also
having, you know, winter solstice,
they work around about the December 20th.
What happens on the winter solstice?
The shortest day.
Was it?
Yeah.
Maybe the longest day for you,
buddy.
Shortest day.
Okay, so you're going to buy a car.
You claim you're all buying.
Before the winter solstice on December 21st.
So before the sun falls in the lowest of the day.
Probably about 3.58 p.m.
You have approved me an extra four days on your bed.
No, nine days or ten days.
Yeah, but I'll do it for the meme.
How?
Great.
Thanks.
You're so generous.
Well, I'm actually, yeah.
We need to know what other medieval calendar
events we can do.
If we can have some sort of pagan festival or
any other, like I'm talking medieval.
Day of the day of the dead.
I want, yeah, that's when we'll start making
bets and they will be, they will be deadlines
and they must be met.
What would you call it?
Medieval National Holidays?
I would like, I would like days go.
I want a church, a church glass window made
of one of the bets.
A stained glass window.
A stained glass window, a Ben holding an L.
Oh, that's fantastic.
You know what, if cream ever does well enough
and we can start spending silly money on that
sort of stuff, you know, after we've paid
Ben's exhausted fee, and we have any money
left over, we'll do stuff like that.
We'll get a stained glass window in the cream
unit and come Christmas.
Oh, all right.
Sleep to yourself.
Perhaps we can get a little nativity set.
Oh, you know, we tried last year,
but you'll never see it.
We actually had the nativity set at the
background, you know, live animals,
Santa was here, all sorts.
Do you know what, a live nativity set,
I do like the idea of if we can,
but we actually do it in one of the stables
out there with a horse.
Donkey?
We, you know, we'd have to do this.
Oh, we should have gone for the Feast of Falls.
Ben, we did late December.
Ben, what did you play in your nativity,
T.C.?
I played star.
Of course you did.
I fell over.
Well, I played, I was a
shepherd, but I refused to take my trousers off.
Why would
you have to do that?
Because I've told me I had to take my trousers off.
I said, I'm not doing that.
So I was the only shepherd in my plate.
I was the only shepherd in my plate who,
well, because shepherds, back then,
you know, back in the day, weren't wearing trousers.
They didn't wear gray school trousers.
Yeah, but it's not meant to be that accurate.
I was a star.
Well, I said, when I think about this story,
I think, was I, was I done over here?
Should I tell the police?
About a teacher saying, take trousers off,
take them off.
I mean, I don't really want to take my trousers off.
I was actually co-host.
I wore it as my uniform.
Co, no, there were two no stars.
There were two no stars.
Now, I may say famously not possible.
Me and my mate, Sam, is enough star and
there's another one.
As in Sam and the Integra.
Yeah, of course.
Me and him were the stars, were the co-stars.
I played star one or two, and he played the other one.
How do you follow two stars?
Yeah.
We'll get
complicated.
Surely, one's moving at all time.
Well, I think you were one very small star.
But it worked because I fell over so that he could go.
So, yeah, once you go on.
Three wise men went, do we need to follow?
Where's that?
Where's he gone?
Oh, that one's there still.
So, we'll follow in.
That's star Justin Plaggard.
Fantastic.
Yeah.
Another end of a civilization.
When you think of the activity scene,
famous animals, you think of...
Donkey.
Cow, I was cow.
You're a cow?
What?
Cows were in the activity.
Which half of the cow were you?
I was the only cow.
How can we...
Well, whoa.
I had a mouse.
Cow famously two people.
No, I was just a boss.
No, I think you were a cow.
You were a cow on two feet.
Yeah, no, just standing there.
Look, cuz shepherds.
And then when they started singing,
I was belting that out.
And then also, halfway through,
got bored, left.
Yeah.
But the shepherds not have cows.
It's a question for them.
What is it sheep they have?
You know what?
I think shepherds.
Something to ask the owners of tractors.
Well, only at night.
Exactly.
Farmers.
Sorry if this is your first podcast and
you're here to listen about cars.
We'll move on to that now.
On the subject of L's, I got...
This is an L related to what I was just talking about.
And I think this might...
We haven't talked about official L's in a little while.
Apart from Ben's one, but it's obvious.
But official L's throughout the year just
related to little things.
Yeah.
And I'm willing to claim one for myself
related to my began wheels.
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait,
wait, wait.
Official L.
Yes.
This is like an L to be spoken about,
not handwritten.
That has to do between us.
Then it's not a official L.
I'm putting it towards there.
Because where's that?
We have a list of L's.
Yeah, exactly.
You can't refer to it though as official L.
Please, you can't refer to it as that.
That's a separate thing.
I'm putting it towards the forum.
I'm not that forum.
Our forum.
The forum of conversation.
A conversation.
Sure.
Confirmed L.
L.
Thank you.
Confirmed.
Well, not yet.
Because we all need to confirm it anyway.
Now we're past the laws of the L.
Hold on.
Sorry if you're listening and you're hearing
sound
effects.
First Ben was kicking an empty Red Bull can.
Now he is pulling the wires that are to do
with our podcast set.
It keeps getting core.
How about this?
Stop moving.
Are you quite done?
I'm done now.
Good.
I'm quite happy.
Please start your story again.
Ben, the benevolent salesman,
sold me some wheels.
I did.
For a good price.
And I'm John.
I will absolve you of this.
You haven't done any wrong.
You're just an idiot.
It's fine.
You haven't done any wrong on this.
Go on this camp.
I bought your Enki RPF ones,
which are a five by one 14, which is like a
JDM Japanese car fitment many.
But somehow my McGahn is also
24:17 Wheels Fitment Fiasco on Will's Megane
that McGahn's are also a five by one 14,
which is very strange.
But it means you can fit some quite interesting wheels.
The original wheels on my car were an 18 inch.
The Alfa market ones anyway were 18 inches.
They fit very nicely.
In fact, they fit perfectly.
In fact, I should never have sold them.
It turns out, who sold them?
Yes, I've sold them.
I sold them to John at Conrad,
which means I can't now go back because he
turned up when I met him to give him my new
wheels with my wheels on his car,
now powder coated silver.
But that deal is officially done.
And I bought these 17 by nine.
So like width wise, they were good.
Offset them on that extreme 17 inch wheels.
And I'd seen record of one man on the
internet and I had fitted these.
I'd never seen a picture of them on the car,
but he said he had them fitted.
And I will, I will allow myself some blame here.
Because when Ben said I need to sell those
wheels, I said, Will, you could put them on them again.
And I went online and I found this man and
said, look, there's a man that's done it and
sent me the link.
And so Will was like, cool, that must fit.
I love what happened.
It simply doesn't fit.
I gave them to John at the weekend.
Offset, I didn't just buy them.
I then had them powder coated and then bought
brand spanking new AR ones to fit for them.
I got far too ahead on myself on it before
even even testing them.
So gave them to John and he tried to fit them
and said, yeah, we'd have to show down your
calipers, your caliper bolts and many other
things to get these to fit.
They're also peristly close to a control arm
and the offset is insane.
We will need to add probably at least a 16 mil spacer.
Basically, on the hub of the Mégane,
they have like a 16 mil lip,
but the spacer you need on the front is quite big.
But if I add a 16 mil spacer to that car,
my God, I would need a ridiculous amount of
cam, but it's just never going to work.
So I'm going to have to sell those wheels,
either wheels and tires separately or together,
whatever.
And then just by fortune, on eBay,
searched up some wheels and I found some advantages.
Cool wheels.
Way more expensive than the Enkeys,
but they'd recently been refurbished in quite.
I thought this is meant to be.
I'm going to buy those wheels,
agreed to buy the wheels, bought tires.
Again, don't know why I'm doing this before
I've actually got the wheels,
but I have bought tires.
And then just before this podcast,
literally two minutes before we hit record,
the message being said, Oh, mate,
the wheels aren't for sale anymore.
I've tried to fit them to my,
I've tried to fit my new wheels to the car
and they don't fit over the brakes.
Yeah.
It's like that is it.
So I'm now without wheels and we go to the no
buggering in about nine days.
I have no wheels to fit to the car car.
Your two sets of tires deep,
one refurb and two sets of wheels deep and
still without set wheels.
That's tied by a shim for the other one.
The man who has fit them, he says it on
Facebook, he put a comment saying,
when he sold them saying, "Make just need a
13 mil space for them to make them fit."
It would be sketchy to do that on the again
and it's going to the rings that I want to do that.
So I'm now on the hub for wheels and I'm very
upset because there aren't no wheels.
Also, when does this podcast come out?
Just before we go?
This podcast will come out.
It's really the day we go.
Cool.
So if you have any wheels, you can't do anything.
Thanks for listening.
Thanks guys.
Hopefully I will fix this.
Hopefully I'll find something.
But it does, it's exciting because it means I
can find some cool wheels.
But the Ad Vandal had my heart set on them.
Because they were white already,
they were already refurbished.
needed was tied as they were in our big stream.
Off-site wise, anyway.
But they would have looked so cool.
I haven't seen someone else want to do those
on them again.
And I don't want to go like Team Dynamics or
something normal.
I want something not necessarily no one's
ever done, but something a little bit different.
This is kind of a forum question.
But this sort of stuff is why I know wheels
scare people a lot.
Because they go, I don't know if this will fit.
And it's also why people have bad fitment a
lot of the time.
Because either they just guess or they go
really safe with it.
Because they're like, I don't want to get too
far out to be able that much.
But there are, especially if you're going for
something that people haven't really done
before, you'll run into it.
You have to deal with- You are the test dummy.
The fact that it might not work.
And also, if you find wheels that are cool
that seem to fit, but no one's done it
before, usually a reason.
But we saw that one guy that did it and were
like, there it is.
The exact fitment, everything there.
Cool, it works.
To curse you, man.
Basically, they could fit, but you would have to go.
If you were a stance car, it was a certain
car you'd get away with it, but I'm not about that.
I'm not about trimming my brake caliper down
and running mad camber just to fit the wheel.
I'd rather the car drive correctly on a
different set of wheels.
But there's a balance here.
I gotta find a cool wheel.
I must find a cool wheel.
So I have a week to do it.
I like what happened.
What the hell?
Sorry?
I got my wheels sold.
You're horrible.
I didn't even think this was too grand for them.
Not sure.
Think about your friend at all in this situation.
You said they would fit.
I sold them to you for a very capacitive rate.
No, but you just said you're glad about what happened.
Well, yeah, I got sold.
So you don't care that I don't know.
Yeah, please remember.
Just remember what we're doing tomorrow.
I also care because I was looking forward to
parts of the S2000 living on within TEC.
Oh, yeah, sure.
No, I'm not.
Yeah.
Okay.
Remember that?
I'll buy them back off you.
When the money hit the account,
will you?
The lesson
you paid me.
I'll short my wheels.
Oh, it's about 18 underfoot
then.
Yeah.
Right.
What we got next?
But is that an L?
I'd say I confirmed L for short.
Sure.
Sure.
It feels like an L.
Yeah.
has to be an L.
Yeah, big sun.
When it starts to really feel like an L.
Only your heart knows.
As J House said, if it feels like a lot,
if it smells like a lot, it must be.
It must be an L.
It truly must be.
And Ben should know, takes one to know one.
True.
True, true, true.
Ben, you've put in here as part of your late
evening beer drinking.
I wasn't adding to that.
I'm adding things into the green podcast chat.
Single flying.
Yeah.
What does that mean?
What does that mean?
I've been staring at this for a long time.
for a week.
Just wondering.
I did not know about the
30:04 High-Speed Hyundai Insta Encounter
podcast.
I was on the M4.
No.
And I was going 70 miles now.
Of course.
As I do.
Understandable.
Believable.
Bracket's true.
And a, you know, the Hyundai Insta?
Yeah, the really small thing.
Little guy.
One of those flew past me at Mac piss.
Now, gauge me a speed.
I am not joking.
I reckon at least 100.
Like sketchy speed.
So on a top speed run.
Yeah.
I was, I was baffled, like actually baffled.
Did you rock your car?
No, cause I think cause, so I was in my left
hand laying, cause I was just sitting on a round.
So I was just sitting on my left hand laying and.
Lane hogging.
Wow.
It's literally how the road works.
Now Ben, the top speed of Hyundai Insta 93 miles.
So he must, they, he or she,
sorry, must have been on a VMAX.
It's also top NL.
They'll be downhill.
France.
Yeah, I think possibly.
Yeah.
Cause I may be that like, you know,
Hey, listen, it was near Swindon,
Manifactors have been known to sort of,
you know, sandbag on the old number.
It's true.
It's true.
But it was, I mean, maybe it wasn't a
hundred, but it was, it flew past me.
Could be a case of like, you know,
if they, if it actually goes over a hundred,
they'd have to put different tires on it and
then it was cheaper to put.
Oh, interesting.
These tires on.
So we'll cap it at 93.
When in actual fact, it can do 195 miles an hour.
Or we're getting into that thing in the early
2000s where all of the German manufacturers
said 155 mile an hour.
But you could get a delimiter on it.
So all of the, you know, the electric cars
coming out, they all say it's 93,
94.
Let's keep it safe, boys.
You take off the limiter off the Insta and
you're doing 160.
It was a hundred percent going minimum.
It tops a bit.
A hundred percent.
Well, I would say back some of it stops a bit.
Well, it might have been going more,
but it was a minimum line.
It was at least 90.
If you're the person in the Insta,
absolutely sending it.
Please, please, please do let us know what
your VMAX, if we could get a draggy time on
that, if we could get a VMAX.
They knew they were going quick,
because I was in my left hand lane,
and there was no one else around,
and they were in the far right lane.
Oh, so they were in the auto bond spec.
They obviously knew I wanted to pull out on
me, and I
saw Steve run.
I was in shock.
Now, no footage on the dash cam.
Why not?
Why don't you get your phone now?
Would you have a dash cam then?
Would I have a dash cam?
Ben feels like a dash cam.
I feel it.
I would have a dash cam.
But for me, it would be more 'cause for funny things.
Interesting.
I had yesterday, I was driving somewhere,
and I got thrown about, and an entire coach
pulled out on me.
And he pulled out not part of a coach.
He pulled out into the middle of the roundabout.
Just the driver's cam.
And I honked, because I was like,
"Hey, man, let's give way to the right."
How long did you honk for?
Not that long.
But because he
was just pulling out, he was just in front of
me, and he mouved
at me, "Use your brain."
More cutting than any swear word.
I was like, "Did you question yourself for a minute?"
For a second, I was like, "Is it give way to the left?"
No, it isn't.
It's my right of way.
And I was like, "Okay."
It was so baffling that I didn't even get annoyed.
I just went, "What is going on?"
What hand motion did he use?
Did he tap the head?
He tap his head.
Oh, that's tough.
I had no hair.
Did you hear the sound effect?
I didn't know what he said.
So at first, I genuinely thought he was
pointing out the fact he had no hair.
I said, "Why would he be saying that?"
He goes, "I'm bald."
Come on, mate, use your brain.
I'm bald.
But he might have to use your brain.
I was like, "What if I done wrong here?"
I did nothing wrong.
He could be like an East End gangster,
and use your noggin sign.
The best part is that he started pulling out
as I was coming around about.
He definitely saw me.
But then as I honked, he then slowed down to
then do that.
So he blocked me even more, and then he drove
off angrily.
But I was like, "What is going on?"
So yeah, a dash cam flat would have been fun.
That would be lovely.
You'd have one of those dash cams that faces in.
Yeah.
Which, you know what?
I see a lot of people on the Instagram and
America do make the content out of it when
capturing their reaction to it.
I would like that.
I'd like a live stream of any time you're
driving that I could just tune into and watch it.
So by the time I get home, I can watch you
finish your journey.
It would be me seeing purpose.
Purpose, as if you have a crash,
it eliminates like you can see what happened.
So just lie.
That's the issue people would lie.
He was doing 200 miles an hour when he hit me.
No, but I mean, inside that one,
it faces you.
Oh, the one facing you?
Just go look at the way you react.
Well, like taxi drivers.
I cried after we crashed.
Yeah, I don't know what the purpose of having
the interior.
Well, I assume, like, obviously it'd be
useful if someone was on their phone,
but I mean, that's in their car.
They're just incriminating themselves.
But taxi drivers, they shouldn't incriminate
themselves 'cause they should,
but it just feels silly.
Tax drivers always have one,
but I assume it's because it's in case you
have Google and people.
Answer.
Here we go.
As always.
For the purpose of the interior dash cam.
The purpose of an interior dash cam is to
record the inside of your vehicle.
So I think we put this to bed.
I think we can move on.
Google top workers always thank you.
Can you elaborate?
Can you elaborate?
It says it provides, this is a new paragraph
for the way 'cause it thought we might be
happy with that.
It provides a vital layer of security acting
as evidence in the event of an accident,
passenger disputes or break-ins.
For break-ins, I can kind of understand.
Oh, break-ins?
That makes sense.
You know, that's fair.
Or like carjackings.
Sure, notorious in the UK.
Also, what are those?
Car burglaries.
But for both of those things,
it requires someone to then,
after it's happened within like a minute,
press the stop button.
So the carjack have to happen,
they drive off with your car and they have to
go, "Oh, and then press the off button,
take the SD card out."
I'll save that for you.
I'll bring that back to you.
You can do it on your phone as well.
But you shouldn't be on your phone while driving.
No, we've been carjacked, so famously you
have no car now.
So if you're driving, you're not the victim
of a carjacking.
If I get carjacked, I'm not gonna lie in the road.
You are the carjacked, you're gonna be
whatever the brand is, and then press stop recording.
Yeah, cool the police, but hold on first,
there you go.
Always loads, takes a while to load.
Crap in on that one, you don't wanna start
there in there, perfect.
It always baffles me when I see those dash
cameras and it's just facing inside and I'm
like, "Why have you got that?"
By people who have CCV in their house.
In your bedroom, not a fan.
That's a weird one.
What are we doing here, by the way?
It's got cartoon vibes.
What else do we have on this little list of stuff?
Another bold sentence to be writing here.
I'm gonna read it in its entirety.
Edwin put in here, I3 all up in my shit.
I really like the BMW i3.
It is an electric car and we have famously
said we don't particularly like electric cars
36:49 BMW i3 and Electric Car Thoughts
and I'm not trying to backpedal and I know
that there's a lot of people who claim us to
be BMW carballs who just love BMW.
I just really like that design.
I keep the more and more when it was first released.
I said it on the podcast.
I like design, never else, didn't like it.
And then I've liked it more and more.
And then I've found out, I sent a message to
BMW and said, "When's the individual spec
coming out on these?"
And they said, "In 2027, there will be,
beginning of, you'd be able to have an
individual color, meaning they have an oxford green one."
And because of various business things,
we'll maybe talk about it in the future
podcast, you can purchase through businesses,
electric cars and write part that offer on
the business, so you don't actually have to
pay it from out your pocket,
if that makes sense.
So, I've kind of looked at it as I've had so
many car breakages in the last month or two,
that I've been looking at newer cars and more
reliable cars.
I kind of like the idea of it.
I'm happy to--
To preface, though, you would still have the bad cars.
Oh, God, yeah.
You were just, this is just the one to get to work.
I still think, I understand the way people
think, 'cause I think it, I'm starting to
think it less.
I'm just having a tool that is there for traveling.
You literally, that is entirely useful.
When I think, I say the Alfa,
I love it a bit, and it doesn't cost me a lot
of money and whatever else, but having
something that hopefully still doesn't cost
you a lot of money, obviously,
of course, you're a lot more than 600 quid,
but it's quiet, it's reliable,
it does all the modern stuff and you can
listen to your music and you can have Mav and
all that stuff and it has a heat seat,
has adaptive cruise control,
is quite nice.
You don't always have to be,
my commute is incredibly boring,
like incredibly numb.
and I do not need a super exciting car just
to commute in all the time, but I can
understand why someone would have an electric
car for that.
I could never have an electric car that
replaces the muscular or the Mégane or
something like that and which is why I don't
quite understand the fun electric cars.
I don't have one of those Ionic 5N's,
I thought it was incredibly fun,
but I thought there isn't an equivalent
petrol car, especially at that price that I
wouldn't have instead, really.
Ionic over the petrol car or whatever it is,
but over like a diesel or something like
that, like a numb diesel or something
automatic, it does make a little sense,
actually.
And we spoke about this in the run of five of
you that we did, to be fair,
where I said, I don't understand it and I
really hate the fact that you have to go out
and you have to charge all the time.
But if you own an electric car,
you will have a charger at home.
And that is the one upside you will never get
from a petrol car.
You cannot fill up your car at home.
Unless you're a petrol car.
Unless you are a petrol station.
But you use the correct terms there,
which is that it's a tool.
Thanks.
No, thanks, thanks, Dad.
But the new M3, the
electric M3, I like the way it looks.
But I cannot
understand why anyone would want it.
Because in terms of
feel, that's going to be the same as an i3.
I know it's going to be quicker and it's
going to have motors on all the wheels and cool.
But there's no feeling there's no vibe difference.
Let's use the Gen Z word between that and
like an i3.
Whereas if it's just a tool to go back and
forth, and I just like how it looks,
I think they're really cool.
I like this new shape.
So yeah, I have I have inquired with BMW and
say, yo, could I is that how much is
sometimes their individual things are mega money?
And then that's not worth it.
If it's on a cool lease deal that's mega
cheap, hey, man, I'd consider it.
The thing I do a keep coming down to is if
you have fun car as well, one fun car or a
few fun cars, whatever it is,
some project cars, track cars,
stuff using the weekend, that your daily or
whatever you use most of the time,
it doesn't need to do that thing.
And why put yourself through the pain of of
having to deal with that, that car possibly breaking.
You need to modify it.
That doesn't mean you can't modify some of these cars.
You can still do that with wheels and whatever else.
The other reason, like up until we said it in
the Renault as well, up until now,
I've never even looked twice at electric cars
other than the Honda E when that came out.
That was really cool.
I
love the look of it so much that I asked to
have to trial
on as a press car is that any time I left the
house, I
could not make it home.
I would drive 50 miles and my 110
mile range would turn into 70 and I have to
charge on my home.
Supposedly, this has 560 miles of range.
I don't even when I go up to see my mate in
Liverpool, that's about the farthest I do.
That's 200.
make it there and back on a charge.
Even in the dead of winter, that should in
theory keep to there.
That's cool to me now.
Now that's fine.
If it means I only have to charge at home at
night, I'm fine with that.
Again, that is where that's the point I was
trying to get across in the Renault 5 thing we had.
The Renault 5 didn't have much range.
I think it was 200 miles.
But again, you have to remember you're
filling it up basically every day or you can
fill it up basically every day.
So you're not not like a so the Alfa probably
get me five or 600 miles on a full tank.
And I'm probably only filling it up maybe
three or four times a month really,
maybe a little bit more depending on
42:05 Denza's Supercar at Goodwood Festival of Speed
how much driving we're doing.
But I have to then fill up a full tank every
single time I have to go to a petrol station
and do that.
Whereas I can understand why you having a two
or 300 mile range and then you just getting
an extra 100 to 200 miles, you're basically
never having to fill it up while you're out
and about unless you have to go and do a long trip.
So for a car like my commute is I don't know
60 or 70 miles a day.
Yeah, so I've doctors yourself.
So I'm 60 or 70 miles from there.
precise location, spotting the map right now going there.
So the crow flies though, isn't it?
Of course, could be different.
It's entirely possible unless you have to go
and do a long trip.
You may never have to go and use a fast charger.
In which case, it costs you almost nothing to
run that car.
The downside being is that you are driving a
completely numb washing machine appliance,
but it's also quite nice to have that.
And then when you get in your exciting car at
the weekend, or you do take your exciting car
to work one week, it builds even more exciting.
So I just looked at our up, the charge
supposedly overnight, this may be wrong,
EV owners in the comments, please feel free to correct.
This is just an AI, but a full charge of
something like that overnight will cost you
about three to four pounds for a full charge.
Now that's, that's, have to have three,
four hundred miles of range overnight.
Surely that's on some sort of like special tariff.
That's on, that is on an EV tariff.
That's 'cause you're charging overnight.
Over night, in the correct slots.
Because electricity is cheaper overnight.
Correct, thank you.
Because it's cheaper to make overnight.
The hamsters work better, more efficiently at night.
They do, they do.
The lights make them a weird.
Yeah, they don't like it.
So you know what, maybe you see EVs in,
in Crete, not in the future,
not in TDC future either.
This is literally a tool to go places.
You can tell that Denzer have got to you guys.
Speaking of,
Speak of the devil.
Speak of the Denver.
We received a, an email recently.
And I'm not gonna say it's personalized,
absolutely one.
We'd love to say that our Denzer mentions
have meant that Great Denzer,
the Great Craig has reached out.
Denzer is, James Bond.
You're going to Goodwood.
But Denzer, we found out are owned by the Big
Bad Boss BYD, which stands for Ben.
Build your Denim.
Build your Denzer.
Build your Denzer.
Oh, that was right in front of me.
Are you in front of me, Denzer,
will you?
I'll bring you Denzer.
So they own Denzer, Denzer are not in the UK
yet, but they are launching it in the UK.
Not sponsored.
About three months ago, we believe,
but it has been launched.
No, it's coming any moment.
It's first half of 2016.
Which we're in the second half now.
We are.
Are we coming up in 2016?
We are in the second half.
You know, Q3, 2026.
Good things come to those who wait.
That's not what BYD stands for.
But basically, obviously, lots of these
companies are doing lots of marketing and
reaching
out to influencers, which they must have
missed the mark.
So there's a bit of a blanket invite out to many people.
We happen to be on the end of it,
but when they mentioned Denzer,
our ears record.
up, and then we found out that Denzer are
launching a Speedy Gonzalez.
Yeah, that's good one.
So supposedly, there is going to be a Denzer
super car, super car, no less,
at Goodwood Festival Suite.
It is going to have 1582 brake horsepower.
That's for the electric still.
Yes, and 217 miles an hour.
It is supposed to be a rival towards the
Maserati Grand Cabrio type thing,
and it looks a lot like the Grand Cabrio.
That's what I thought when I first saw it.
You know what?
It's not bad looking.
I quite like it.
There's a real shock.
So hang on, I've got four doors.
Is it?
No.
No, I think it's only a two door.
It's got a massive fuel truck.
Oh, sorry, I was seeing the front,
thought that was a door handle.
The rear, I actually don't mind the rear.
That's Bentley.
It's Bentley mixed with the Corvette C8.
Yes.
It's kind of interesting.
So again, look, we haven't been swayed by Denzer yet.
Is it a hard top?
I know, so you can have.
Ben, I'm going to do something I know you've
never seen before.
I've done some research before this.
Wow.
There is both a hard top and a soft top
version that you can have.
But I saw it as it's like a coupe or it's a
retractable hard top.
I believe it's a retracting soft top.
Or a coupe.
Or you can have it as a coupe.
That's a coupe.
So 1500 horsepower.
The coupe is here, it looks a little bit interesting.
The coupe is got big old wing.
I prefer the convertible, if I'm honest.
Yeah.
But that highlights the elegance of Denzer,
doesn't it?
Ben.
Good drive.
Yeah.
How much, any guesses on how much the soft
top weighs or the hard top, either one?
Soft top, go on Ben.
Can you put me out my mind?
Soft top, what, the whole car?
I got an up in my head.
Soft top is going to be, I'm gonna say
relatively heavy, I'm gonna call it 1600.
Yeah, 2.7 tons.
Perfect.
2600, it's 2,650 in soft top form or 250 with
the metal roof.
So you really wanna go for the metal roof,
fat dynamics, a really lightweight,
low to spec.
But it's fine, 'cause all the way,
it's low down.
So then there's said it will be,
do a lot of 60 in less than two seconds.
Less than two seconds.
Less than two seconds, that is insane.
Can we call in then as a please?
Then to make, give us a, so the email is
basically said, yo, we have been chosen.
Yeah.
We have been chosen.
Whether we accept or not is entirely up to us.
So you will see, hopefully you will see soon,
we will confirm whether that's gonna happen or not.
Our people will speak to their people.
Of course, Ben will speak to Daniel Craig.
And go buy me, I didn't know you were that famous.
And he'll go Rogers.
Ben Rogers.
I'll go Aston Martin.
No, Denzer.
But the most famous Roger after Roger Moore.
Exactly.
It's end Rogers.
(laughs) That'll be an event.
Now, the one other thing that I've read that
is quite
interesting, it also has four independently
controlled
electric motors and the same,
Dysus, M, Magna.
Here we go.
Magnetoherological suspension from the Yangwang United.
That's the hopping guy.
That's the hopping bastard, isn't it?
The Yangwang United.
Which I think this is James the name to,
the hopping bastard.
Isn't that Yangwang a bus or is that a Utahn?
Man, this is becoming like watchdogs.
This is really interesting.
We can't keep getting away with this.
If you showed us this podcast section,
if you showed it to me five years ago,
I'd be like, this isn't real.
You can't call cars like that.
Surely.
The Italians need to get involved.
Yeah, well, although I just wrote,
I also read that it's shaped by BOD's chief
designer, Wolfgang Egger.
Does that now bend left because it was the word egg?
But the more car, the car-focused people
among us will know that he's the man that did the H.C.
Did he?
Really?
No.
Did he, Mr.
Egger?
Mr.
Egger.
Now surely, right?
Surely.
You still love that egg?
Yeah.
We are the outlet callers that has given
denser than the most props in the UK.
Oh, you got, we have to be.
Surely.
But also by far,
Marvel ones that understand the electric cars
and Chinese cars, the least.
Yeah, but what I'm saying is that denser,
you owe us a little electric car,
even for the weekend.
Oh, well, did you hear that?
Wow.
They owe us.
We've given them so much power though.
Ben's saying we.
Well, there is no we.
I won't be able to drive it,
but you guys.
How do you know you won't be able to drive us around?
Laws might be different in China.
They're gonna give me a 1,500 horsepower.
No, not that.
Was it a Denzer Z?
Not that.
Denzer Z.
You'll get a little one.
You'll get a little one.
Denzer Z.
Denzer Z.
Denzer Z.
Denzer Z, the Denzer Z, yeah.
It's not, I'm not gonna call it great
looking, but it's not bad looking.
Hey, as far as Chinese electric cars go,
I'll take it.
You'll have one in the class.
I won't pay for it, but if it won't give me
one, I'll pay it.
So you're, Ben's been swayed.
I'm more like Benzer.
Whoa!
Ben YD.
So, you know what, Denzer, let's hear back
from you at some point, all P-Y-D,
one of you guys, let's know.
There's gonna be people listening to this
podcast saying, I didn't come here for electric cars.
You've always hated them.
And now, we can be the one on the podcast that's changed.
All of a sudden, but hey, electric cars are interesting.
Did we talk about the value stuff before?
Yes, many of you.
I've been looking at it, it's mental.
They're like top high level Audi's that are
cheap, and they're like three,
four years old.
But then I looked at the range and L.
It's like how they advertise that stuff.
It says, even like Audi, they say this car
has a maximum range of 200 million miles.
50:21 Electric Cars' Range and Charging Issues
And then you look at people owning them and
they go, yeah, mine's got 50,000 miles,
I'm struggling to get 100 miles.
Is it, what is it, around about 50% after of five cars?
Some of them can't, I think it depends,
I don't know what it, I'm assuming it's charging.
How you charge them, whether you charge them,
I don't know.
What can you, how do you prolong the life of a battery?
You knew about this, right?
It's between 20 and 80.
You don't ever want to do it fully or something.
The Hummer we had--
Oh yeah, you know how much--
Limited at 80, 85.
Which is stupid.
Because our Hummer that when we rented,
when we were in America, was it wouldn't let
us charge above 80.
It was 80 or 85, I think it went no more for me,
thanks.
Which I find, I understand why.
But I find it baffling.
It makes no sense.
So what do I do with the other 15%?
Yeah.
But while you're saving it, what for?
For when?
A rainy day.
If I'm still gonna lose the back,
it makes no sense.
It's like a, just lie to me.
It's like 85 is 100.
It's like at a car where they go,
it revs to nine.
We just put it to six and a half though.
Just like, just don't, I wouldn't use it.
I guess it's like, well it's not quite the same.
It's like how on your, what does he want you
to call that?
Not no domino.
Car rev cage.
Yeah.
Where it'll go up to 10.
But your, but your limiter is at eight.
But they, but they wouldn't sell it.
They would do that on the fuel gauge.
Yeah, they also wouldn't sell it as this car
revs to 10.
I mean, well what, by what?
They go, that's what the rev gauge says.
I guess actually on a fuel, no,
even then, on a fuel gauge you have a reserve
and you've written, like when you fill up,
you could bloody hell with empty,
but you still have 10 liters left.
Yeah.
But still, just lie to me, just say it's 100.
Or 95 or whatever.
And I'd believe it.
Yeah.
I'd be told, I have no way of proving that.
I can't get the 10 count.
Slectricity.
I know there's charging here now.
Just me over touching all the terminals and
seeing whether you get shocked.
'Cause I knew it.
Call it the reserve or something.
That extra 15th reserve and I got,
I might have to use that.
So yeah, I don't understand that.
Electric car people, owners,
makers, hook us up.
We know what we're talking about.
We know nothing.
Yeah.
Sorry.
You mentioned the hammer in the US.
I want to add some impromptu creaming to the
list of the possible.
I want to pitch the cream as this.
Here we go.
We are yet as a gang to rent a car from
Monterey Car week 26.
We are going there for the first time if
anyone was wondering.
Never mentioned it.
Last year, we rented the electric hammer.
We liked it, but I think maybe that didn't
translate what in the video was.
But we're the biggest electric car outlet on
the internet.
This is now called the E in cream.
That's it, it's electric.
Cars, rule the electric every around me.
Cars are electric, actually,
man.
Yeah, that's the scene.
Now, I get a couple of dens out there,
we'll drive those, but in lieu of that,
what should we drive?
Let's discuss it between us and then let's
get the creamers, comment down below,
what kind of vibe we should go for?
Because we've looked at rain drivers.
We have just a few, now we, before we have
the hammer, which is very tall,
I think we need something tall because when
you're car spotting, you want to see above traffic.
I think there is a, here we go,
Will.
The top gear.
The hotel.
That's bad to be ideal.
If we could get that exported out,
I think maybe they could reconstruct it from
what's at the bottom of the beach.
So what we liked about the hammer was because
we spent a lot of the time out there driving
around looking at cool cars.
'Cause actually the best part of Monterey is
that there's just random cool stuff.
There's 92's everywhere.
Everywhere.
But there are also like some,
you'll see like an Enzo, just driving down
the road or F4 and driving down the road.
So you want to be able to A,
C it and B, if that thing's going,
catch it.
I'll be sure, catch everything.
So because the hammer was so powerful and it
was electric, the benefit of that was it was
very quiet, so you could hear the cars in a
distance and then we could zoom off.
Other than the wind noise, which was deafening.
The windscreen, which when you did more than
five miles an hour would go.
So because of that, that must be thought
about in the shots.
So tall and fast.
Tall and fast and also interesting.
Things I describe myself as,
but it's not true.
I've thought of something I'm going to try.
Here we go.
I will endeavor to try.
Here we go.
Anyway, I'm going to reach out to every
single manufacturer I can think of.
I'm going to say, we are going to the quail.
They go, no, you're not.
No, she is going to the quail.
One of us is going to the quail.
What can we do here?
Every manufacturer, and I'm just going to see
how many go back to us.
Obviously they're like UK-based.
Right, I think.
What if all of them say yes?
We're going to have a car for every day of the week.
You know, we do, they do, they do quite well
for us in the past.
Driving American cars on the UK roads.
Sure.
Quite interesting.
I want to do the opposite.
I want to do driving to English cars in like Salinas.
Like an MGB.
And a, and like a Morris Minor.
Maybe.
But driving through a Taco Bell.
Maybe a flipper.
Maybe we need to bring a--
C-App.
Great, sports.
The flipper.
Hey, we don't know, we haven't bought it yet,
we don't know.
Every one of you do that.
But it can be exported, can't it?
So what else could we get?
What kind of cars we thinking?
I think something luxurious.
We've had the few that we found because we're
basically looking on churro so that we don't
have, there are like suburban Grand Wagon
ears that we can get from a normal rental,
but on churro.
Not sponsored, by the way.
Not nothing like that.
There are from looking, there's a Bentayga,
which is quite funny.
I love Bentayga.
Bentayga's funny.
Range Rover's both-
Bentayga.
Elf, very nice.
L405 and L460.
That's the one.
Very good.
And the other thing there is,
NF150 Raptor lifted.
That is cool.
Now I like that.
That'll be quite cool.
There is also-
Ford, Ford are keen on us.
So we could drop them on it again,
that I'm not leaving any hints.
Ford GTs.
We've had a couple of Ford press cars.
They've invited us to some other things that
we haven't gone to with race,
sorry.
But perhaps you will be in my outreach,
for sure.
I'm gonna get flagged as spam.
I think we're gonna go this guy again.
Can we get onto race?
Yeah, we
know.
What can we get from Ford?
NF150, for sure.
NF150.
I think we should get an F350 as well.
Three mustangs.
What are you talking about, Ben?
We're not having multiple cars.
No, I'm just saying it in an ideal world.
Get in the ideal world.
And then I think I must think.
We're renting this tiny apartment.
74 cars are outside.
No, three.
Three.
You want one each?
And three F350s.
What is going on?
Just a big boy.
Also, you tell me you drive an F350 in America.
You anxious little through.
I would drive one in America.
No, you would not.
What are the three cars you drive in the US?
Can you start from the most exciting to the
least, please?
Right, you drove three cars.
Two were other people's cars,
one was rented.
Think of Francisco, mate.
You're mate, Francisco.
Francisco, who we rented a Chevy Traverse offer.
Very good.
He said to me, "Maybe next time we see
Trevor, I'll be in London."
I said to him, "Brothersco, I don't know who you are."
My favorite part of that is that he thinks
he'll be renting a car off of you when he
comes to England.
You're a little GTD.
Your car driving experience in the US.
Was a Chevy Traverse, which was--
That wasn't first though, right?
This was a manual E16 5, which I was
terrified to drive.
Understandable.
Shout out, Peter.
The second one was a Chevy Traverse.
Understood, yeah, cool.
Yep, which I then parked up at a gas station
and I jumped into the Murch Lager.
Yeah, I drove that.
Sometimes you've got to do that.
Sometimes you just have to.
Yeah, but I would be very nervous.
No, I drove Murch Lager in the US.
You would not drive it F350,
absolutely not.
But why would I drive Murch Lager then?
Because you were forced into it.
Yes, there.
And you had like, I'm the other person in the
car, you know, so like for like moral support
where it's on your own in a 3/5.
You're not doing it.
How big are they?
Large, yeah.
Yes.
Isn't the biggest one?
It would feel less like a 4/50s,
but 350 like for customer type things.
Right.
So it might be too, I just don't think you'd do it.
But I think we can get something.
Okay, so we'll update you as this goes on the
outreach to brands.
We're going to start with the Gati.
I think after that, you know,
we'll move down the list.
I suspect Lorda, isn't it?
Forget Audi.
Audi, hey.
Hello.
Whoever else?
Alfa.
Alfa.
Yeah.
Alfa would be cool.
We're gonna get a ticata and then you will
deal with yourself, Ben.
We've thought about that before,
Ben.
We did look.
There was a modified 911 turbo that was like
700 wheel horsepower and you'd just be in the boot.
I will say, sure right now, if you want to do
that, I'm honestly okay with that.
So you'll be in the front?
No, we'd have to get another car.
Oh.
But if you can get something actually cool,
I will drive a Chevy Traverse.
Okay, all right, we'll have a look.
So if you are from, manufacturer,
which you might be, I don't think we've ever
had anyone say there from a manufacturer.
If you are, you know where to find the haps denser.
Yeah, just on denser's booth.
That's where we'll be.
Still not sponsored by me, because we really
need a car.
We haven't booked it.
Otherwise, it's a lot of ubers.
Yeah.
It's not gonna go well.
A lot of walking.
I'm very sorry that the next
thing is also electric related.
Oh God.
This is the E podcast, the Cree E-M podcast.
Cree E-M.
So the Filori wall.
What's that brand there?
All that, that.
Different car.
Ferrari Lucha or the Lucha, whatever you
wanna call it.
Ferrari's new electric thing.
I saw a video of Harry Metcalf doing a sort
of very brief assignment.
Harry Metcalf, who makes very good videos.
I
must say, he's one of my favorite YouTubers,
a very, whether he'd ever come on our
podcast, you might think we're a bunch of
perfumes, quite positive.
I think you just think we're a bunch of silly things.
boys.
But if you ever did come on the podcast,
it would be very cool.
But he got a little bit of time with the
Lucha, no driving or anything like that.
And my feelings haven't really changed.
The interior is exceptionally cool.
Apart from the odd moving screen in the
middle, which feels like a sort of hospital
bed type thing.
But I kind of get where they go.
But they got some really cool,
like some of the toggle switches,
they just look, they have thought about that
at least, but they were talking about
something like, everyone always says,
when an electric car or a hybrid comes out,
it's like, Oh, I had to do that.
I had to do that.
So you said they're at a size now.
So they have to build,
they have to get their own success has come
round and hit
them in the backside, because they sell so
many cars now.
And I think it's mainly related to EU sales.
So I can't
remember how many, how many it is they sell per year.
But if they go over 10,000 in the EU,
the EU start to go, hang on a sec.
Your emissions need to come down by the end.
you need to do something to reduce that or
lower those emissions.
So the Ferrari, the Luchay is kind of a means
to an end in a way of saying,
right, we still want to carry on doing the
other stuff, but we need something to bring that.
So I can understand it.
And if there is, if it genuinely is that is
the main reason, obviously they're going to
push it and promote it and market it or
something they love and it's amazing.
It's passion and it's pure Ferrari.
But I was like, okay.
Meanwhile, the people who work Ferrari,
boring.
Then I can understand it.
Again, there is always, I always have to look
into it a little bit deeper sometimes.
It's like when Aston with the DBX and the
Eurosson, obviously this one's just more
annoying because it's electric.
The Signet as well.
The Signet, that's what the Signet was there for.
Yeah, to the emissions.
They're to bring the emissions down.
So it's just more annoying because it's
electric and maybe they could have done
something different with it.
I think that some people's gripe is that they
could have done, but then it isn't a
five-seater SUV thing.
But I guess if that gives more credence to
the idea that it was potentially bought from
Apple, as a, here's 50% of the work's already done.
Just run with that.
So we don't have to go through development of
making a two-nine-six electric or doing
anything about, just push it out.
Some silly, rich bastards will buy it and
then off we go.
But there is a general consensus that it will
potentially prolong the life of things like
the V12 and the V8s a little bit longer.
So worth it for that.
I have no interest in it, really,
but you know what?
We will let you have that one,
Ferrari.
But they are still making an AV12.
Which has to be appreciated.
I saw a photo on Instagram of the,
I don't think it was a release,
but it was one in the flesh of a testerosa.
I like it more.
The 849.
Is that what it's called?
849?
I actually quite like the shape of it now.
I know that there's this thing where everyone
goes, or someone on the internet made a
render and it looks better.
And they do.
Somehow everyone managed to make it look better.
And again, I assume that there is a reason
why it can't.
There has to be a safety for that.
The
argument for it not looking like,
obviously they used a
1:03:20 Cars We All Agree On - 458 Speciality Editions
testerosa name.
Yeah.
Maybe even more race car from the original.
I think they had a space in the middle of that word.
Yeah, but still.
It was testerosa, which comes from,
I think, it was to do with the cylinder heads
or the rocket car was or whatever,
big red, because it means red head.
So the same thing happened on the testerosa.
Yeah.
On the testerosa, everyone knows they used
that name, which was used from many,
many years before.
So none of the design elements were carried over there.
It's completely different.
Yeah.
It's the, I think they call it a pontoon
thing, but it looks like it's almost like
they have two different pontoons and sort of
the body in the middle type of thing.
completely different cars, all together,
completely different designs.
So yeah, it's a little bit like there is,
there is an argument that Ferrari know more
about what they're doing than most people
than your average ponto does.
Not saying they're doing everything perfect
because there's some of the stuff I think
they've really missed on.
And maybe they go too much towards the nostalgia thing.
Maybe they didn't need to use the testerosa name.
Maybe they could have used something else.
Some of it, some of it just feels like we
need to set a car, we slap a testeros name on it.
It's going to, it has some meaning at least,
but it has some some, some all,
you know, buy it because of that.
And the V8, I can't remember this from
before, the V8 and the testerosa,
that is a new V8.
I don't know if that's the same,
it's just an older version of F8.
Okay.
Yeah, I also like that.
I like that it obviously should be a V12,
but it's great that it's not a V6.
I know that V6 is incredibly good.
Also, we're sitting on a sofa,
we've never driven any of these cars.
It's, we're not, we're not trying to say that
we're the authority on it, but from
anecdotally, I think it's cool that there is
a V8 in it and not a V6.
I'm still not a big fan of how they sound.
I know they do sound like a mini V12.
The V6.
Yeah, was it Piccolo V12?
Piccolo V12, yeah.
But a V8's cool, V12's cool,
that's Ferrari.
So there we go, that's electric news of the
whole podcast, the whole podcast,
mostly electric, but not going to continue.
I'd say you heard it here second on most of that.
I think we're pretty up today.
I think also V8, some V6 is at the end there.
I think somewhat interesting electric stuff.
I think so.
I think we've been impartial.
I think by then, is a...
I've always denser.
But willing to be bought out by denser,
we will say where you need to.
Everyone has a price.
We're still doing a talk shit.
Benjamin, we'll finish off on you.
Fantastic.
You have a forum for us.
I do.
This is from Kurt Albert.
Is it how much strength does an electric car have?
Is it?
Let's talk about electric cars for a podcast.
Hello, cream lords, electric car question for you.
No, Jake.
No, please don't.
I've got a forum question for
you.
Avantime, which was one of the few cars that
Clark's and Hammond and May all liked.
My question is, is there a car at all?
As in one of the only cars that they all liked?
No one they didn't.
I did say that.
I thought it was the Mondayo,
wasn't it?
They all said they liked the S2000 from memory.
Was it a gothant?
Yeah.
Something like that.
Let's
say...
I'm so sorry, Kurt.
This is the sort of thing you...
What was your question?
The question is, is there a car that all
three of us like?
Let's say that they did like the Avantime.
Okay.
I like this question.
We all like equally.
Good job, Mr.
Cobain.
I'm going to go ahead and say...
What are we like?
I think there are lots of cars that we all
like, but not that we're like...
I would have one of them.
Yeah, that's the car that we'd all go and...
What's the entry point?
I think it's...
You wouldn't have an L-322.
I think it's a denser.
Nope.
Wouldn't do that if I'm honest.
Not yet.
I think...
Ben, would you have an L-322?
I like it.
You wouldn't.
I probably wouldn't buy one.
Four or five?
For 60.
You wouldn't have a 405?
I would have a 405, especially after America.
I would use it like them, but I don't...
This is a much easier game than me and
Edwin's play with me.
That's why it seems we had to do it.
It's just no update on my windscreen as of yet.
Haven't heard anything.
Still upset and waiting.
I'm sure there's...
I'm just counting the cost of going through.
Oh, please.
It's actually a limitation.
It surely runs after a while.
I don't think it's that hard work.
No, for a long time.
No, for a long time.
Sorry for the contracts, but sure.
Yeah.
But an L-405, despite my windscreen,
a buckle I would love to own.
Also, I forgot to tell you this.
Well, I found out this is an actual thing.
Also, it's great because I can say,
well, I can say some of it.
I got, when I got to the speed limit,
let's say that on the motorway,
I was driving and everything fine,
normal and suddenly...
And then it stopped.
And I was like, train.
What the hell was that?
And then, so I tried, I tried accelerate again.
They went...
And it stopped.
And I was like, what?
And it sounded like a car's horn in the car.
It scared all of us.
It turns out there's a trim piece on L405s
and apparently discoveries that when you're
facing the right direction where the wind's
blown across and you get to a certain speed,
it will make the loudest howling noise possible.
And it scared the piss out of me.
Is that loud?
Genuinely, like, deafeningly loud.
I want to see if there are any creamers that
have ever experienced it.
up afterwards, there are videos of it.
I'll see if I can find it quickly.
This is when we find out that that speed that
it hits at is 190 miles an hour.
Definitely not that.
Definitely not that.
This is, I've listened to it.
It's a
quieter version of it, but it is kind of similar.
Kind of sounds like I'm letting you know.
Yeah.
Or kind of similar.
Just out of nowhere at 100 decibels.
Really, really quite unnerving.
Well, bees, bees in the car.
Yeah, no, I didn't have any at the time.
I think that's like a swarm of bees.
That's a rough running bee, so.
I'd get your bee checked out if your bees
sound like that.
So this is cars we all, now,
so we're going on cars we all buy,
'cause I don't think the top gear,
a question was cars they'd buy.
It's just ones that they like.
I do not see Jeremy Clarkson or Rich Hammond
driving a Monte OST.
Okay, so it's ones we like.
But they could say they like it.
True, but then I think we have quite a few.
Oh, there's many.
For what?
NSVJ.
Well.
See, but I like that.
I like it, I wouldn't buy one.
Because you'd have an LP700.
I'd have, I think I like the SV the most.
Oh, would you have William?
I would have an SV, yes.
Okay, so we don't agree.
So we don't agree.
Yes, I guess it's then.
It's one that we all agree.
There's TZ there.
A four by the C's there.
Spider for me.
Especially Harley for me.
Oh, will that be all right?
I'd go for a coupe normal for me.
Well, there we go, all three different.
Okay, let's go again.
I would say--
But would you all agree?
How far do you go?
Do you then say, well, the speciality you'd
all agree on is pretty, well,
no, it was a drivenness, but still.
But let's do it as the model.
How do you, I don't know the rules.
Let's do it as one we'd have then.
The one I like, I, the speciality is
obviously the nicest one, but if I was to
just choose one to go from, no,
not driving, I would drive a speciality.
Which one, yeah, see, there we go.
And you would pick what?
No, no, don't even tell me.
What, what, what, what?
Right, so there is every type of 458
speciality in front of you.
Including, sorry, yeah, for every type of
458, you got normal, a coupe,
a spider, or whatever it's called,
and then a speciality, and then an aperta,
a speciality of aperta.
I'd be torn between a...
Rockin' a hard place.
Fair, a normal coupe, a normal...
Really?
See, I would choose a perta.
I forgot with the aperta.
Oh, what
we're saying, or the spider.
I like that simple, early look
for me.
It's the perhaps it's the forefoot you grew up with.
So, there you go, look, that's...
No, I'm not saying what's actually...
No, no, no, no, don't understand.
No, hold on, hang on.
It's the horse, imagine the horse that's not
moving, it's held.
Okay, this is what the whole point is.
We don't agree.
No, stop, stop, stop.
But why would you take that?
We have to move on.
It's the one that I would have.
We have to...
That wasn't the question.
We have to...
We have to...
We have to move on, because we didn't agree.
Okay, fine, Porsches.
No, but I think Ben doesn't know the question.
That's my problem, is how...
Is the lights are on there?
No one, actually no one's home.
They're in the house.
And then we play it back at Ben's head.
All the cars are lined up.
Which one would you take for a spin?
Or which one do you like them?
The most.
I like the 4/8 normal the most,
because that's me.
Which one would you drive?
Someone said, "You can drive one of these cars once."
That's a perfect way.
No, that's not the question.
Because that's relying on specifically driving.
You might like the way one looks versus the way one.
For me, the one that I'd have is the number one.
I find that.
That's what I grew up with.
I know that's not the point of this argument,
but that is mental.
No, I'm not saying it's not objectively better.
Not picking the speciality.
Shut up for a second.
But then hold on.
Hold.
Would you always choose the SVJ to drive?
No, 'cause I don't think it would be a bad.
Big enough difference.
And there you go.
How?
Then there you go.
No, because it's not a big enough difference.
But how do you quantify that?
'Cause that's not a big enough difference.
That's objective.
Okay, let's make it this.
It's the one you'd have.
Sorry, that's subjective on the cloud.
The one you'd have.
Because otherwise you're honing on a specific
feature of it.
The 4HV8 speciality I would happily admit is
probably an objectively better car,
right?
Probably might even look a little better objectively.
Sounds better.
For me, yeah, possibly.
But for me, the one that I would like is a 4HV8.
GTR.
Oh, now this is, I would have a--
I already know who's gonna disagree on this.
I like them.
You like them, but you wouldn't--
I wouldn't spend my own money to buy one.
I go through phases, now that's not true.
Aspect V, I like a lot.
With my Opal, with the Aspect V wheels,
I like--
What's that?
But it would be a DB--
To DB, that is the--
It's DBA.
Yeah, I think.
I would have the--
Let's see, face level.
CBA is what I like.
CBA is 2012 order, right?
But before lightning lights,
it'll be a DBA pre-lightening light.
Yeah, that's what I like.
Yeah.
I'd have a face lift.
So they go 17 on you.
So there's--
So we can't agree there.
Or the newest one.
But then if you go in there,
do you then go off 34, off 32,
off 33?
'Cause then you would pick something else.
Oh yeah, if it's Skyline Lineage,
then I'm not--
GTR, I'm sorry, I'm not going off 85.
I wouldn't care.
Beavos, pick an Evo.
I quite like our redacted Evo.
None of them.
I quite like a 10.
What the fuck?
Is that the one that's like square?
Do I like that?
Or five?
Well, we don't have any, of course.
But yeah, an Evo five is what we've got.
Fival six is a square, probably boxier,
wide arches.
10 is, well, not for me.
I will show you the photo of a 10 Benjamin.
Here is a
10 out of 10, right there, up on the screen.
That to me is what I imagine is Evo.
Okay, so that's your, if you,
you know--
No, I like the one we have, whether that is.
Yeah, but they're like that there.
I don't care, I don't care, I'm choosing,
I'm picking, I'm picking my favorite kid,
but I don't like any of my kids.
What about?
One dude we met once, can't say anything more than that.
What about 12 year old's favorite?
Just a little story we met someone once,
he hated his children.
And yeah, we've always lost about it 'cause,
well, incredible, crazy.
Said so casually as well.
Yeah, middle of--
Just hate my kids.
All right, very wrong.
Ah, yamas.
I'm having, I'm having the original.
You're having a super sport,
aren't you?
I would prefer one of the nice ones.
But I could probably agree, no.
I think I like the Grand Sports most.
I think I like the Grand Sports most.
So I prefer the ones with the newer lights.
The newer lights are cooler,
but I don't know, I
could take, I'm happy with either.
It's difficult, this, isn't it?
Because when you start getting Mercilago,
well, you know, we're not green there.
I think we're all three.
Well, if I had to have one, I have an event
store, but what I would actually have if I
had to have one is I would have,
I'd have an LP640.
Over an SV?
Yeah.
Oh, interesting.
I don't actually like the way the SV looks that much.
I think it's a little bit long and weird.
Okay, so we're, Ben and I and team 640.
And you know, I would be not.
I would be 16.
Will?
No, I wouldn't have one.
Don't like it.
Yeah, Bill, engine has to come out,
didn't it?
One bother.
Okay, what about?
9/11s.
Oh God.
No, you've lost Will.
Don't you?
So you were, I wouldn't never,
I just, I haven't, no.
Kyle.
I wouldn't know, Kyle and I.
I don't.
Famously, not a 9/11, but good job.
I'm thinking of this one.
There's one 9/11, one series of 9/11s I'd
have and it'd be some of the GT1.
So if I could pick one, I'd go with a 9/9/1
GT3, maybe the nine, was it a two?
I don't care.
The current one.
No, no, 1.2, touring.
The touring, yeah.
Or the SE, I actually like the sound of that.
The SE is the one I probably pick.
That's 9/2.
Yeah.
What would you have the same thing?
Yeah, a 964, a 993, or a 996 GT2.
I don't know, a 964, but back date it.
Either that's a singer, you'd have a singer.
No.
But then that's a different brand.
Yeah.
No, I have that.
But that is one.
But that is one.
Or I'd have a 9/1.2 GT3.
Okay.
There you go.
So there's
no agreement there.
But now you're only modifying the--
Yeah, which is not allowed.
So they're saying that's not allowed.
Okay.
You've got to keep that, the car's out of the box.
If the car of that is 9/1.2.
What, two?
Does that change any of your other answers?
No.
No.
No?
Not one?
Yeah, I know.
I would only, I would only absolutely slam a
normal Bugatti.
To be fair, it probably would maybe change it
for Skyline, then I would probably be back in
a GT-R in an R35.
35.
If I had to keep them stocked.
With a stock R35 is probably not bad.
Surely we all agree on an F40.
We'll like that.
We'll like that.
Yeah, we do, but then if we're using the same
thing we've talked about before,
is would you then pick an F50 or an Enzo?
It's the same, but I guess now we're getting
detached because it was originally just a,
do you like this?
F40 I would go with.
Yeah, that's one.
Yeah.
Okay, so that's a no, that's a no.
I'm not enough for me to be like,
yeah, we all really like that car.
I go, I can appreciate it.
An Enzo.
What gets you a little thing called going?
I like to listen to this car as you grew up with.
It's good to learn.
So you want, you were like Ferrari.
Like a ladder would be probably coolest.
I just don't care about them at all.
I'd love to have a spin in one.
I like the left rock.
I know this is a bit out there.
I'd love to try one.
I'd love to try one, but if I was putting
together a team of
cars, okay.
A collection.
It wouldn't be the first in
there.
Sure, if I was a Scrilio billionaire,
I got to
have a lot of Ferrari in there,
but yeah, not for me.
You're
the sticking point here, Ben.
Well, that's what it's interesting question,
'cause we're all very different.
Here we go.
Here we go.
I've got one.
Say it then?
The Renault Clio 182.
Fantastic, there it is.
Absolutely.
Will it probably be that?
Would you have a one, seven,
two though?
No, a 182 is where my heart lies.
Is it?
Because I have my original one was a black gold car.
I prefer the way a phase one looks,
but as a car, just an out-the-box car,
182.
So it's the Renault one eight?
It's like a 200, though.
More than one eight two.
But again, if I was to, I would be more,
if the 200 or a 197 didn't exist,
I'd be happy with a 118.
I just liked the way it looks,
it makes me happy.
Well, also, you said that you got off of your
blue 182 back recently, and you were really
upset that you then said no,
you couldn't get that back, whereas you got
off of the 200 back, right?
I haven't been off of that back.
Oh, I thought, only the blue car,
I got edged.
I thought you said, I thought that there was a...
No, there was that 200.
But the yellow car still would drop.
I do regret selling that.
But would you be as upset about not being
able to get it back as a blue car?
No.
So the blue car, because there is a
attachment to that car.
So there it is.
And I keep, I've been looking at other one
A2s recently and they're not him.
I know, I know, and if you know,
you know car.
Yep.
Volvo V70.
You like it.
I like it, and I know you like them.
I like it, I haven't got my feet into it.
I have an S60.
Same chassis, so I'm car.
No, that's odd, you're an odd human.
I like it, it's a tough case.
I don't, I like the game, but I find the game
frustrating.
We want it.
Is it one A2?
Yeah, I guess it is.
One A2 there.
One A2 there.
I feel things towards, I really,
do I look the other day, I looked for the one
of the first times at potentially financing a
car, I won't do it.
But I looked the price of 340i daily,
but I looked at an OGM, too.
Wow.
To see how much that would be on the old
monthlies, and then I closed my computer
after I found out.
I feel less to them.
I like them, I like a competition quite a bit
more, but I do, I used to really like M2's a
lot, but I don't know, I've been around a few
now, and I don't feel as much.
They're also another car, but they are
amazing out the box, and they will be like at
standard, it will be, but it's a car that
needs too many little changes to make it how
I'd want it.
See for me, whenever I see that,
I, wow.
Nothing, you do nothing.
No, it's a car that I would make that noise.
It's what, I would really, really like to own one.
And the first gen sounds, and the OG sounds better.
It does sound right, I will admit that fully.
Right, I'm gonna run through,
we're gonna run through some cars.
Audi
1:20:28 Final Thoughts on Various Cars
R8, gen one.
A V8 or a V10?
That's a question for you.
I love a V10.
I love a V10, that's tronic.
Yeah, I don't, you get a manual V10?
Yes.
I love a manual.
I can't feel much to them as much,
but I do like it.
If we're getting down to gearbox.
Just as a car, gen one R8.
Yeah.
Okay, that's an okay, that's not--
I quite like.
Mark IV Supra.
I got what I was in.
I don't feel anything.
Wow, crazy.
I'm okay on it, I'm not crazy into it.
Amira.
Yeah.
Yes.
Oh man, what's up with you?
For that much money.
I could have so much fighting with you.
I believe you.
McLaren F1.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Okay, so now, if you were to say no,
there would be punching, so it had a has to be.
Also, a rare occasion when, if you said no
and it was your opinion, you would be wrong.
2005 Ford GT, big yes.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, well, yeah, I would be a yes.
I'm a yes.
Oh, I thought for a minute you'd say you were saying a?
No.
I'm quite neutral to it there for probably a guess.
No.
NSX, first gen.
I liked the one that we drove,
that's a hard one.
I would say no.
I'd say no.
I still like them, but I never drove that car.
I love how it looks.
Can I drive that car?
I can't remember, I don't think so.
I don't think I did.
I do think about that driving experience
regularly though.
The Ford Model T.
Yeah.
Yeah, no.
(crowd cheers)
I actually, I would like to--
Feel free to keep that.
Yeah, I do, I would never like to own one,
but I did love driving it, it was quite funny.
I wanna drive something like that,
but that has normal,
Normal pedals, Jaguar E-type.
I, yeah, obviously there are specifics to
that, like what kind of E-type,
yeah.
I don't like them.
You know what, they, I go through phases
where I do like less and more,
but I just hate how far in board the wheels are.
I was good at the same thing.
I know it's correct, but--
You see, I don't mind it on that.
It's the same as a mirror, like that,
my era of car, they kind of look like that.
Also, my time is an original contrast,
they look like that.
The width of wheel you could fit in that
arch, like a 12 J in that.
Lower it, a DB5.
I'm yeah, I love a DB5.
A lot of it is James Bond, but still--
Yeah, for James Bond, I like it,
but--
I could take it or leave it,
it's not, it's not for me.
Whereas like a 250 California from Ferris B
of the day off, that's my guy.
That's my movie car.
A Mustang, like a GT500, a Shelby.
Old one, '60s.
I know, let's say I'm more modern with it.
Look at Ben's, look at Ben's lick.
2000s.
He was, Ben was sneering.
I could take it, was it a GT350?
So you could later on, yeah.
F550.
I could take that, it looked cool.
But then the newer 500 I wouldn't take.
So you like the GT350?
That's literally the only one I like.
I do kind of like them, but I'm not huge on them.
Or by like a 67?
If it was old, yeah.
60s old would be true.
I'm there, but not a notch back,
because that's weak.
Yeah, especially in green.
What do you call them?
What's a yes go?
Absolutely.
So that's a big, I don't, I'm not a fan.
It's a car like
a Ferrari.
I'd love to drive.
Yeah, yeah.
Because for
me, a CCX, or a CCXR, and a Gera.
I don't like it.
I'm
gonna say something.
I actively dislike how they look.
That's wrong.
A Gera's.
But that doesn't, I don't like
that front end.
But that's a modern version of what you like.
Exactly, I don't like it.
The front lights don't look like it.
They look good.
They look like Hyundai's.
Ah, yes, the famous Hyundai.
1:24:04 CCX and CCXR Dislike
No, the light, the inner light.
It's got like a weird daylight running light,
a Zonda.
Yeah, I was gonna say Zonda's in there.
I can't believe you are right now.
Oh, no, no, no, no.
I go Hyra over as on that.
What the--
Oh, that's tough.
Is this it?
Well, hold on.
I think I've got it.
I think I've got one.
P1, P1.
Yeah.
Oh, that wasn't strong enough.
No, it's fair.
That wasn't a beef strong enough.
But P1, the choice has to be made.
Or a Holy Trinity car.
Did you say P1 before?
No, you were in 18.
No, I never was P1, but in my late years--
Bad racing drivers.
In my late years, I used 20s.
I now like a P1 more.
That's a P1.
I used to like a 9.8 more.
I was agreeing on the Holy Trinity,
we'd say P1.
I'd say so.
So, P1, 'cause Ferrari have 14 and a 180,
so if we could just get those together.
It's seeing a P1 in real life that it's me.
I've never seen any of them in real life,
I saw a P1, I've seen all of them in real
life, and the P1 is that set,
so.
A Valkyrie.
No, we don't care.
I like it, but I don't like how it looks.
Joe, I respect and appreciate it,
because it's so different
to other things, what I was a few years ago.
I think it
still is compared to some.
Yeah, but then now there's other cars that
are doing a similar stuff.
I understand it was a bit of a disappointment
to whatever what it was meant to be,
but they look apeshit.
Yeah.
And E92 M3.
Oh yeah.
Yeah.
Especially in Monterey.
That was actually quite...
I'd love one of those.
That was quite a positive from Ben,
so I'd say I'd put an E92 M3 on.
I'd absolutely love one.
So that's three, all right.
But there's no equivalent M3 you'd have.
You have an F80.
No, I'd have a E92 over an F80,
but I would still have an M2 OG over.
Right, but it's a bit in M3 territory.
It's slight spanner in the works.
I would have an E90.
Okay.
I go for a coupe.
You want Longboy.
Not long.
Technically longer, just more doors.
I'm pretty sure they're shorter 'cause the
actual exhaust
would poke out further on a 90 if you put a
90 exhaust on.
That may be the way around, but I think that's W.
LFA?
Yeah, I'll have one of those.
I don't feel anything towards LFA.
I have a feeling.
It's the most overrated sounding car on Planet Earth.
We've heard one in person though.
So most people haven't, but you have.
Yes, sir.
They sound, I'm not saying they sound bad.
I just don't think they are the,
I think it's a Clarksonism.
Bear, possibly fair, but I love how they look.
I've always liked how they look.
I just spies the way it looks.
Really?
It just looks like a Lexus.
Well, you don't like, also you don't like the
bonnet shirt, right?
You don't like that.
The bonnet, the gap that I don't like,
but also just the rear end, it looks like an E36 compact.
It's kind of true.
That's actually fair.
You've got a really tall rear end.
So I'd say it's a very good forum question.
First of all, we've got,
We've got McLaren F1.
We've got McLaren F1, E92 M3.
Clear one, E02.
No, E40 wasn't in there, was it?
Sorry.
That's feeling evil.
It's feeling pissed in heads.
You know, there are only three cars that you
need in the soil.
1:27:15 Thinking Man's List Cars
It's a clear one, E02, McLaren F1,
E03.
Think about it, the Clear one,
E02 is the thinking man's.
Do you know what this is?
P1.
This is not the thinking man's list.
This is the popular band's list.
This is what logical people go for.
Thank you, Ben, go.
I would choose in my list a Renault Spass
Mark 1, no shade to Robin, a Kia Sedona from
America only, USDA market, and then a Hyundai
Ix35 because they're really the thinking man sports car.
We haven't put any dailies in there,
like normal cars, which people will probably
turn their noses up and go, wow,
all you have in there, apart from the one it
do, Mark 1 for focus.
Normal.
I don't know, I care.
You play that, 'cause I'd have an RS.
Of course, but I'm just talking about normal.
No, you just said.
'Cause I
like that, I like it.
I like it.
I like seeing them, I
like the feel of them.
Mark Fogolf, you will win.
Mark
Fogolf, okay, do you know what,
Mark, six Fiesta.
Don't
care.
I'm fine, do you know what Ben?
Didn't ask either.
330-D.
No, I don't like it.
I have a bone to pick with this.
330-D's are cars for moving from one place to
another, but they have this weird cult following.
It's the same with like 330 eyes where it's
like, oh my god, they're actually,
it is, it's the thinking man's M3 or it's
the, brother, it's a car.
And you can map them and you can do really
cool things with them.
I'm not trying to take away from that and
they're very cool dailies, but there's this
weird, it's kind of MX-5 where it's like,
I wouldn't have anything else.
It's, oh, it's underrated, it's so cool.
It's just a good car, man.
It's the ultimate car.
Yeah, it's not, it's a car, it's a car.
M57 people, which is the engine or that era
of the E46 and the E92 or the E90 where it
is, they, they're bordering on the paedophiles.
Look at that.
Sorry, won't you say that?
The PD-5 files, that's a PD engine in a Volkswagen.
Yeah, no fair, I 100% agree.
E53 X5.
I was about to say the same thing.
I think we've got, we have to agree on that last year.
Yeah.
With an M57 the best engine.
You know what?
That's what mine had.
Side notes.
Sorry, I had a petrol.
Side note, I saw a fantastic E53 this
morning, utterly wonderful and that has
confirmed my decision.
It was a 4.8, I think.
Lovely.
With the wide arches, you know,
the Lamont kit, whatever else,
on Alpenas.
The fact that truly one of the most
stupendous looks for any automobile.
I like that.
You know what, great one to end on.
So there's our final edition,
basically a third BMW, if you count them McLaren F1.
Yes.
You know, engine bay.
So lovely, I think that's very good.
Fight it out in the comments with some of our
decisions and we will see you next week as
always for that 90th.
90th.
That's bloody 10 off, 100.
We're approaching
the big 1.0.
Almost.
Nope, more than that.
1.0.
Oh,
thanks for listening, cars rule everything around me.
Good night.
That's in the Ford GT, headlight.
It's warm.
It means something, doesn't it,
Ben?
