0:00 Rule or Ruin: Road Rage Encounter

He rules down his window.

I'm not kidding.

Was he up to his waist out of the car?

Shouting at me, basically against my window.

But he, I thought, here we go,

he's gonna screw at

me.

And he went, no, no, no, no,

no, sorry, sorry.

Can we

just have a word, please?

Hold on.

Could we just take a moment?

Hello, and welcome back to the Cars Rule

Everything Around Me podcast number 21.

I believe that's what nine plus 10 equals.

with myself, Edwin, Will to my left and

behind the camera as always.

Hello.

Oh, you nearly didn't say it,

Ben, Ben behind the camera.

At the beginning of every single podcast,

we answer the question, do Cars Rule

Everything Around Us, Me, You or do they ruin

everything around us?

William.

I'm gonna stick with Rule.

Wow!

We were sorting out the Clio at the weekend

and he's in the place he's never been before.

There was a fine moment where it could have

been the biggest ruin so far.

And there's still a little, there's an

underlying ruin in there.

There are underlying tones, I'm getting tones of ruin.

But overall, he tastes like a rule because

he's driving on the road and running.

My God, does he sound good?

And by this point, there will be a video.

Yeah, there will be a video on our second

channel, which is now not this channel anymore.

No, you're listening on YouTube.

If you're listening on YouTube,

you're on the Creed podcast channel.

If you're listening on Spotify,

you would like to find out on YouTube.

Yeah,

I'm listening

on YouTube.

Car and it's really nice.

It's too nice for us.

Yeah, it's slightly too noisy.

I mean, it is, again, underlying ruin.

There is an underlying ruin in the exercise.

There's going to be sadness.

There's always that, ooh, this could go

catastrophically wrong at any moment.

Or part so far.

So far, so good.

So good.

Ben.

Rule.

It's a rule.

We had a big weekend of car stuff.

I think I mentioned on my last podcast,

we were doing car breaks in the exhaust.

Yeah, you said you were going to work on cars

and you did it.

Breaks?

Breaks.

But brakes are brakes.

It stops that.

We don't know.

It hasn't driven yet.

Have you been in contact with your friend

since he left the drive by it?

It's been oddly quiet.

That's weird.

Is it only one take on WhatsApp so far?

Or is it?

Not being delivered.

No, we did the brakes.

That was fine.

Did the exhaust thing gone?

Unfortunately.

No.

Because the man said it was the correct exhaust.

It's always nice to rely on Facebook sellers

and eBay sellers to get software on.

And this is an Integra Type R.

UK spec coin, what we didn't know,

and neither did the eBay seller apparently,

is that the exhaust is completely different on A.

Not only different length, different width.

So we're in a position now where we did not

want to do.

That's good.

For the audio listeners, you might not notice

this, but the video listeners,

you might notice that Ben keeps glancing away.

And that's because he's looking at the screen

where we have neither speed,

most wanted 2012, which is wrong,

but one of your favorite games.

And he was also driving a V12 Monte,

which is your favorite car.

So Ben was a little bit, Ben was us.

What was next to it?

It's just my future garage.

Oh, that's, is it the most boring car?

Oh, I won.

He's saying.

Okay, so Ben, you are rule.

It's rule.

For me, it's ruin.

Oh, us?

Yeah, I think it's ruined.

No, I was just trying to think.

I was just trying to work out.

What's gone wrong?

The Merc E55 is scary.

Yeah, fair.

Although, actually, no, you know what?

You know what?

It's not.

It's rule because I forgot about what

happened while we were filming them.

So we were filming cars.

And we then, sorry, we then came back here

and then did a simulation on Gran Turismo of

driving the E55.

That was it.

And it turns out on Gran Turismo,

it does a really, really, really good burnout.

Yep.

And it does a really good slide out of a junction.

I saw that.

We were in split screen.

That was it.

In my rear view mirror.

I saw it.

Yeah.

And it was good.

It is.

The E55 is, I'm trying to hold her together,

Captain.

She is a butt.

She is sliding.

It is a wagon.

It is two

tons of German metal just hanging around.

You're not turning, you're coming about.

You are coming about.

You're coming about.

And so, yeah, the XFR.

Oh, he's, he's good.

And he'll do his, he's a, he's a,

a lucky dish.

An Edith, yeah.

But he works.

He works.

At least in the simulations.

Yeah.

I don't know about in real life.

In real life, it's quite hard to find out.

But so, you know, for that reason,

it's a rule.

And then the Mark, the C55, a lot of you

commented on when we posted about that car on

the two dead sense channel, that my oil

rebreathe is what they call it.

I'm kind of James Bond, some of the mass is,

it was probably blocked.

And I went to go and do that job this weekend.

And then I realized the one part that I

needed to order for it, I'd forgotten to do.

So I can't do it.

So my car's still burning well.

But maybe this week, we will find out.

Maybe, maybe never.

It was V.A.M.A.M.G.

Officially been lost.

Lost, yeah.

To the man in the car park.

To the E55, which annoys me because I've now

got the worst car for more money.

I'm not happy about it.

But could you trust the E55 every day?

Ooh, I'm not sure.

Can't you trust the E55 every day?

Absolutely not.

When I drive that car, I'm always a little bit worried.

But if the oil consumption goes away,

I'll be much happier.

I think I'll be, he might live to see another day.

He just could.

He just might live.

It's a possibility.

I've bought wheels for it as well as we can.

That's what it needed.

This thing's consuming oil.

Oh, this is what I think I have a fix for the oil.

I'll buy wheels.

I didn't work in theory.

I fixed the car.

I think I'll buy wheels.

So a rule.

I'm gonna say a rule.

Okay.

I think that's a few weeks in a row of rules.

I think it is.

That's two.

What would it take to get us all down?

Anything going wrong at all?

Okay.

So see you next week.

Now for Ben, there's a fine line on me.

Mine will be walking outside to get my car in

about an hour's time and noticing that it's

6:26 News: Land Rover's Hypercar Plans

once again low on one side.

It is quite low at the moment.

Should we not talk about that?

No.

Do you know what?

No, I just feel sad.

Also, there's no news.

It's just low.

Okay.

We've got to press better at the podcast.

Okay.

We won't talk about it.

No, it's fine.

It's fine.

It's fine.

Honestly, Ben, it'll be fine.

Honestly, Ben, it'll be fine.

One day you've got to wake up and the sky

will be blue, the car won't be low,

and you'll just be able to drive.

I don't wait that day.

And instead you'll drive your clear to work.

Well, you know what, I might bring the clear to Markers.

He's great.

You don't bring me clear, yeah.

My oddly most reliable car.

That's crazy.

Crazy to say about a 20-year-old French car.

Yeah.

Meanwhile mine.

Mm-hmm.

Which likes my news.

Sure.

Right.

Not much again.

Okay.

Carwells, but boring RN.

But, Land Sante, people who they do a lot of conversions.

My favorite films.

My favorite films.

They're just the coolest stuff.

Land Sante's--

You know what, they're not, they're not how,

Pagani, they'll go, "Oh yeah,

we'll make you the green sprongle

9,000 or something."

Yeah.

And they go, "Yeah, we'll make that."

Land Sante ain't doing that.

You come to them with Harlequin Spek.

Oh, they say no.

Senna, they go, "No, I make that."

Land Sante is--

Feel free to correct me, but genuinely,

probably I think the coolest company in the world.

'Cause you bring them a car that is not road

legal, or a special, and they go,

"We'll make him, we'll get him going,

we can do that."

They must have the best M.O.T.

tester.

(laughs) But he's just like every other one.

You slip him a 20 pound note and he goes,

"Ah, right, this is a Huaira R,

by the way."

He goes, "I'm deaf, so sounds good to me."

So yeah, they do lots of road conversions

from race cars, but like high end stuff,

basically.

But they are coming out with a three-seater

hypercar type thing.

Of their own.

Of their own, well, it'll be,

what I was looking at, it'll be based on

McLaren of some sort.

Interesting.

It's not gonna be, it's likely gonna be four-liter V8.

Right.

Something like that.

But special, but special.

So the speed tail is three-seater as well.

Three-seater, yeah.

Right, so he's gonna be in that vein,

made by Land Rover.

You know what, I'm more excited from that

than if McLaren announced that.

When they announced the speed tail,

I was like, be cool.

But Land Rover is a very good looking car though.

Yeah, that's true.

But if Land Rover do it, I'm excited.

Yeah, I wanna see that.

And obviously, 'cause the other thing is

McLaren also bringing up the W-1,

but they're aiming for 700 horsepower per ton.

So what, that's Land Rover, that's Land Rover.

The actual W-1 is like 800.

So maybe they're going for like an outright,

they're going McLaren F-1 style.

That's the aim.

I think part of the name is actually towards

the F-1 G.

GTR winning something.

(mumbles)

Yes.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

You get cutting edge news here.

Also, I had a quick funny story about Land Zante.

We, when we bought a car throttle at the

previous job, a, was it three or four,

no, it was an 800 pound Mark II Clio.

And we had to drive that amount of miles,

800 miles, 800 pounds in a day.

And the first place we flipped the coin and

whoever won the coin toss could say where we went.

And the first thing I said, let's go to Land Zante.

And I opened the door and knocked up,

we pulled up outside

in the tattiest, clear in the world,

knocked on the door

and said, hi, we're a YouTube channel.

Did you think we

could film in here?

And she, she genuinely looked up at me,

looked outside at the car, looked back up at

me and went,

no, we don't do public filming.

And I, I genuinely looked at her with the

car, with my, I probably looked like a 10

year old child that you've just beaten.

Like I, I was sad.

And she went, yeah, no, I was like,

okay, thanks, sorry, bye.

I'll come back in something better.

So instead we just stood in the pouring rain out.

So you know, you can film through the glass.

Yes.

So it was like, it was like the zoo and it

was also a pouring rain.

We were all out there just like.

Also the poor receptionist, who were lovely?

Like they were not, yeah, they were clearly,

obviously you're not going to let us in.

You look like degenerates.

They, they were just kind of stood there,

just kind of watching us film through a

window while I went.

That's number 28.

Oh, that's a long tail.

But yeah, I would like to go there at some point.

That would be cool.

Land

down to if you're not listening.

You got better things to

do.

If you are, just let us in.

Please.

Just one lap in the

F one.

Oh, Ben.

Ben just wants to have a go in the F one

quick.

Let's just have a sit.

We'll just want to take it

for a drive.

I'm driving.

I'm taking TVC out.

And so what's that you're trying to ensure today?

I'm a Clara F one.

Okay.

And how old are you?

Eight.

Okay.

Perfect.

That'll be 35 million pounds.

Any who in the San

11:10 GT-R Production Ceased in Japan

Japan has stopped taking orders for R 35 GTRs.

I saw that.

Yeah.

It's finally it.

He's done.

He's done.

He's done.

I mean, I mean, we can't be sad.

It's been what?

15.

No, 17 years.

Oh, eight.

Yeah, basically.

2017.

No, I don't think they sold him in '07.

Oh, I don't know.

That's true.

Yeah.

I don't think that's true.

Yeah.

I think it might be very late '07.

We're going to VAR.

Realistically, you're not getting an '07 GTL.

You might be Japanese '07s.

Well, I thought they were early '08,

regardless.

I want to say it's 2008, because I don't

think we got it until 2009.

Yeah.

Again, we've just derailed this,

but we're going to find out.

Ben's going to find out.

Anyway, what is that?

Let's say it is 2007.

We've known about the GTL.

December 2007, for Japan and then in the US.

But production began.

So no one's getting there.

No one's getting there.

No, no, no.

So in deliveries began.

Oh, that's the delivery's began in July.

I'm pretty sure there are some--

July's week after that.

Some super late '07 Japanese ones.

It's the same thing.

We're never going to get the last--

because we do get the facelift one they

currently have, right?

We don't get the current one because there's

emissions and what else.

I like that guy.

He looks good.

He's got that R-74 volume.

But you know what?

Now they've stopped it.

Pulling out.

Pulling out for the guy.

Because it's not happening very often now.

cars that go on foot.

17, 18 years.

That's crazy.

That's basically-- Ben, that's all of your childhood.

Every moment that you've been conscious,

there's been a GTR in your life.

So I would have been five when it came out.

And I'm now 23.

That's crazy.

You're a GTR guy.

Oh, the purring noise, it's

like driving a big cat.

I like that.

You know all the jank.

So I mean, I'm interested to see what they

come out with next, but you know it,

you just know it's gonna be hybrid.

It's gonna be hybrid.

If it comes out and there's been lots of

rumors about it and there's,

you know, you see like the concept where

someone's made a concept or there's this leak

or that leak and it always looks a bit,

it looks a bit GTA.

Yeah.

Like if it comes out like that,

the GTR needs to retain some kind of attainability.

Yeah, agree.

It can't be like that GTR proto.

If it comes out and it's like quarter of a

million pounds or whatever.

No.

Also, I, 18 year old me when the R35 came out

was like, I don't know if I was that old,

but anyway, I was like, oh, this doesn't look

like an R34, it's not cool.

That's the point.

It should be different.

I should have some vibes of what came for,

but it's, that is my, this is maybe a

discussion for a later podcast,

maybe even a conspiracy.

Cars haven't changed in the last 10 years.

There's no new ones.

Take an F10M5, compare it to a G80,

no F80.

G90M5, that's the same car.

That is the same car with a facelift and

some, some bigger body panels.

Sorry, not the brand you want,

not new M5.

I mean, F90.

Yeah, but they never change stuff.

It's always an evolution of the last few.

Yeah, I hear that.

Like a mark, if, if you look at golfs,

one through five completely different,

six to eight, the same.

Those are the same cars with slightly

different proportions.

Yeah, that's fair.

They are just, they're not really,

there's nothing that drastic.

Yeah, and I get it.

But the thing is, when someone does do

something drastic, everyone goes,

when you actually imagine this,

when the GTR came out, like when you think,

everyone accepts the GTR for what it is,

it's got, everyone just loves that car,

for the most part anyway.

And it was very, very popular,

which is why it sold for so long.

But if that happened now, where you took,

because straight six turbo, that was the GTR thing.

That was the, well, at least the skyline GTR thing.

And then they would essentially come out and

go, right, we're making this like super car fast.

Got rid of the name.

The most skyline name isn't there,

albeit like the designation is essentially for them.

But, no injured.

The V6, it's now a V6.

Yeah, everyone go, whoa.

Yeah, hold on.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

But now everyone's like, yes,

I'm cool with it.

Again, it may be it's because it was very

fast and it was impressive and it was such a step up.

But I think if that happened now,

where something's actually

15:21 Discussion on Car Evolution and Tradition

happened with an M3.

Yeah, yeah.

But if the M3 came out tomorrow and it was a

V6 or whatever, it's going crazy.

But then again, with the V8 M3,

like people go home traditionally and M3 can

have a straight six.

Yeah.

Despite the original one having a four cylinder.

Yeah.

Like there isn't, people get stuck in these

traditions when really they're only like a

generation or two old, if that.

Yeah.

If you look at original GTR,

you are real drive.

Yeah.

There's no, there's, yeah, it doesn't have

any of the original in it.

So it'd be interesting to see what it is.

The thing I hope doesn't happen is that same

thing where it's, yeah, it's just basically

another facelifted R35 and they go,

nah, this is the R36.

I reckon from what we've seen or rumored,

it looks like it'll just be a completely new thing.

That I'm on board with.

It's time for change.

Look, we had 18, 17, lovely years with that guy.

It's time for him to move out.

You know, every single human in Birmingham

has heard one on the limiter.

So maybe now it's time, it's time.

It's time.

It's finally time.

Although the good thing is, is there's so

many of them?

One day, he will be ours.

The prices on GTLs have always stayed quite,

quite, well, mid to like 20s,

right?

Is that why they've ever gone?

Yeah, even then, like, you are buying a rush.

Oh, it's a rush.

Yeah, surely it's 15 or 20 or something.

No, absolutely never.

That's sad, never.

I think you have to look at it in like an R8,

like a V8 R8.

A V8 R8s are at low 20s now.

I reckon they get to low 20s.

Really?

I think they never go below where they are right now.

Do you think?

I think there's enough of them,

and there are enough rough ones.

Well, yeah, I think a really rough one for

low 20s, all like crash damage stuff.

But I think like the majority of the market

is just going to stay.

So it came in GT4s where they just go "This

is where I live.

I'm here."

Especially because a lot of the prices went

up on GTRs because people then couldn't buy a new one.

More for the later ones, really,

because people want to buy a 70-80,

90 grand GTR, which is kind of wild,

but that car came out of 50k.

Yeah, crazy.

I was going to say, I just looked to a minute

ago to see if they had anyone imported the

one that we don't get, the new one.

There's one for sale.

Would you like to get so much of it?

170 grand.

I was going to say the exact same number.

It is 190.

Is it Millennium Jade?

Is it the green, the silvery green?

I was hoping so.

Is he purple?

He's actually bad spec.

Is he basic?

He's white.

Oh.

With black wheels.

Oh, tough.

And a black and red interior.

Oh, tough.

Yeah.

Only one for sale?

Well, the poor elsewhere, that wasn't auto trader.

That's the thing that will happen with GTR.

It's the same as I don't know much about R34s.

When someone shows me an R34 GTR,

you probably know way more about this,

but there we go.

This is a Nerspec 2L point.

This is the GLE edition.

This is the gear.

I don't know what this means.

I think this is an R34 GTR.

I think the same thing is going to happen

with the R35s, where people just go,

this is an R35 GTR.

Yeah.

But there are 25 million different versions.

Well, this one was the only one sold in May

of 2018 in rent with grey door handles.

So it's worth two times the amount.

This is the only one from Birmingham that

hasn't split flames.

Sure, the new one, if it's JDM exclusive,

will be worth more, maybe?

Yeah.

Same thing, any time, any time only one

market gets it, the rest of the market's

going, "Hey, I was gonna buy that and you

weren't, but now because you're not allowed

to, you want it."

It's kind of cool in my mind that it is that,

I don't know why.

Yeah.

It's a, I think it's always like a marketing tactic.

So, now guys, you're not gonna get this and

then enough demand goes up that they go,

"All right, well, let's hope the market's

have this now."

And everyone goes, "Oh, you'll never get this."

I'd love to know how many are actually in the UK.

'Cause it's got to be like, less than,

we've got a 10.

Yeah, it's way more than that in one street

in Birmingham.

19:04 GTR Market Dynamics and Pricing

I don't know if our people, we're just importing them.

I don't know what the rules are.

I think they'll be a load of people more put

off 'cause the people banging GTR are buying

it normally because of the price bracket,

right?

'Cause it's a supercar performance for,

although it's expensive, it's not necessarily

new supercar price.

So when you suddenly start charging 190 grand

for it, everyone's like, "Well,

hold on."

Also, you can get 90% of the experience for 30 grand.

Also, 190 grand.

You're building the big boy GTO.

Whoa, geez.

You buy one that's a few years older.

You're buying?

You're buying.

You're buying?

You are building a guy.

The big guy.

You're building a guy who's going very,

very fast.

How much was it?

The build, obviously you didn't do the build

on your old GTO.

But what would it have cost someone to build that?

That was 750 horsepower.

That was 750, and that was without touching

the engine, which is a bit sketchy.

And that was, I think, 15 grand.

So even that, just doing 50,

a 15 grand gets you to 700 grand.

150 horsepower.

Meanwhile, the F10M5.

A pipe with an email.

A pipe, one pipe, one email.

Away you go.

What was that?

What?

What, what, how am I?

The same, 750 horsepower.

That threw me off a bit.

A remap?

A remap and downpipe's on an F10M5,

you're doing 750 horsepower.

What were they standards?

Well, that's the thing is that there was an

era of BMW where they went, you know what?

This car makes 550 horsepower,

then you went, actually it doesn't.

But what does that make?

It makes 600.

But what if they can make it 700 that easily?

Why?

Because you want to have the engine be under

stress, you want it to be capable.

Also the ability stage.

And 750 horsepower, a car like that.

It's not, it's, to most people,

it's worse.

Yeah, yeah.

It's now more uncontrollable than it was before.

I'm now going through tires at an alarming rate.

They're technically the tires are not built

to keep up with it because now it's a faster car.

But there's all that kind of like technical

stuff that the factory goes.

Yeah.

We now need to beef everything else up to

keep up with it.

I'm sure our friend Evian won't mind telling this story.

Oh yeah.

But there was a day where Will,

myself and our friend Evian all went,

just went for a blast out in our cars.

Yeah.

And Evian was like, can I have a go in the

F10 and five?

Now, Evian hadn't driven that many like

higher power cars.

He's driven lots of cars, but not that many

higher power cars.

And so I waited back at this,

it's like a lookout point that looks over these roads.

And I saw in the distance, the M5 stop with

Evian driving, and then I heard a wah,

wah, wah, wah, of a launch.

And then I saw the M5 nearly facing into a tree.

And then it coming back straight.

And that was

no traction control on a launch at 750 horsepower.

That was my fault, to be fair.

Also, he was in auto mode.

So I said to him, stop here,

we'll do a launch, not on the roads,

not on the roads.

No, no, on the private roads.

It was a local racetrack, wasn't it?

Yeah.

I said stop here, we're gonna do a launch.

And I looked over and I, BMW's have that MDM

mode, it's half off and that's actually quite

safe, to be fair.

I looked over and I thought that's the mode

it was in.

I was like, yeah, you're all good.

And he was like, it's definitely,

I was like, yeah, yeah, yeah.

I was worried.

And I said, just load it up on the brakes

slightly and then just plant it and it'll just go.

He did that and then it spun up.

In first, I was like, that's a bit weird.

Normally it cuts it slightly.

And then because he was in auto,

it banged it into second.

Obviously then we'll stop moving much faster.

Once the wheel's bigger.

And then kept spinning faster and then the

whole car the sideways and luckily everyone

would be slammed on the brakes and stopped it

going into a hedge and I looked over and

noticed it, it was full traction on it.

But that's what I mean.

Like he's a capable driver and it will catch

you out like a high power car like that,

real will drive, will catch you out.

Which is why now all of the new ones,

they make silly power but they're a will

drive for that reason.

So that they can start breaking each wheel

and they can stop you from hurting yourself.

So yeah.

This goes very naturally into the forum

question for today.

Here we go.

The forum is first.

Sure.

The forum is something we like to do in every

podcast, pretty much every podcast,

that allows you guys to ask a question at

home to us as horrible car nerds who know it,

know it all recently really.

23:13 Forum Question: Ideal Horsepower for Cars

So Ben, what question have you got from the audience?

Who's asking?

We've got a YouTube comment from Kyle Johnson,

423.

Hello.

Kyle Johnson, 1 through 422 were taken.

Kyle Johnson, CJ from San Andreas.

Maybe.

Crazy.

That's crazy.

Kyle or Kyle?

Kyle.

Kyle.

Thanks for explaining the joke.

I'm going to modify your question,

Mrs.

Slightly.

Both of you have had 150, 200,

300, 400 horsepower cars.

What is a normal amount of horsepower?

But what I would like to know,

we answer that.

What's the best amount?

Because everyone goes, I've got a million and

50 horsepower, but realistically,

what's the perfect amount?

I don't, well, maybe there is an amount for the road.

Yeah, UK as well.

It depends on car.

I don't think you can generalize.

No.

But I think generalizing, for two generalize,

but generally, I think sub 400 is like,

yeah, you're relatively safe on the road.

That even then, a 300 horsepower torso is

going to be an absolute light speed.

I think I always think about it as Yuri 92

M3, which made your blue one,

which made 400 horsepower, was perfect in

every way to drive your supercharged one.

If you're not on like a, if you're on a B

road, it starts to get sketchy quite quickly.

You need a very long road to really get anything out.

If I'm living in America, I'm happily having

a thousand horsepower suit for it,

because you have a 11 lane wide highway that

is also the size of four cars in each lane.

So it makes sense.

But like on back roads around here,

150 horsepower is, I remember having a C2

VTS, which is, I can't even remember what

they make now.

I wanna say 110 or 100 horsepower.

And that is one of the most fun cars I've

ever owned, 'cause the back road blasting,

it was perfect.

And that made 100 horsepower.

So like 182, even a 182 on back roads feels quick.

Yeah.

It feels fast.

And also you can use like more of it.

And so it depends on like, is it turbo?

Is it, like, 'cause a turbo car that's got

400 horsepower is very different to an NA car

that's got, I mean, there's lots of other

nerdy things like gear ratio,

like that EVO I used to have,

that EVO was a 400 horsepower EVO,

but it's got a really short ratio five speed gearbox.

So you always feel like you're using all of

it, in time, but then you have something like

an M3 or 911 or whatever where you've got a

long gearing and you're on a B-road in one gear.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

When I took the M3 to the track day,

some of you recently, that was,

I was in second, 'cause it was a very tight track.

I was in second the whole track.

My mate in his Lotus Elise was going through

one, two and three the whole way,

down into first into a first tight corner,

up to second, up to third.

I was just sat in second.

There was no need to go anywhere else.

So it felt, it didn't feel, at the same.

And the E55 earlier, 'cause we were doing

sound stuff, so you have to give it a little

bit of welly, to go there.

You did a big pull on that, and like,

it's got a, it's got a, yeah,

it didn't hit the speed limit,

obviously, but it would, it had to give us so

long before it hit the next gear.

I was kind of like,

Oh yeah, yeah.

This 470 horsepower, it's made me feel like a

bit too much for, 'cause we're basically

where you're doing that.

And then the second you get out of that gear

with the next gear, you're then just going at

light speed.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

I mean, but it's, it's--

It's just speeding.

It's also, yeah, in fast car you're speeding.

You're speeding, yeah.

Right, like anyone who's got a fast car says,

"I'm not using this, you're speeding."

Yeah.

We've all sped.

Hey, we've all sped here.

Allegedly.

Yes.

We're all friends here.

And it's like, and it's the Jag,

and earlier, that it was, he was,

he goes, he gets there so quickly that you

can't really properly give it something.

Yeah.

It's why the, like the Stahler and the Corsa,

in actual fact, are kind of perfect.

Yeah.

Because it ain't, like, the same thing with the beat.

Well, less so with the beat,

but you can, you can rag them around,

and they make a lot of noise,

and they say, sound like they're going a

thousand miles an hour, but you can have fun

up to the speed limit.

Whereas a lot of cars, like,

if you get in a Ferrari or McLaren,

to get any enjoyment out of that speed,

you are breaking the limit.

You are absolutely going over the top.

So, it's kind of nice having something slow,

small, but high horsepower, because there's

more, I guess, a current view would closet as theater.

They'd say, there's more theater to it.

Noise is a big thing.

A hundred percent.

I'm a big noise enjoyer.

People with ears.

People with ears.

I think the noise is absolutely key.

Well, I think, to be fair, powder weight is

probably a good, rather than an overall

horsepower figure, powder weight,

like something that's like somewhere between

two and three, maybe 350 per ton.

It's good.

It's a good road car.

If you're on a track with a drag racing or

street racing, whatever your,

whatever the place you've got.

Whatever the location is.

Then obviously, you know, faster stuff's better,

but.

Yeah.

I'll be honest, the beat, I'm,

there are times where I, if I'm on the

motorway, I wish it had two times the amount

of power, but if I'm on a back road,

I'm completely content with 60 horsepower.

Yeah.

Because it sounds ridiculous,

and I feel like I'm air and center going through corners.

Hopefully not all of them.

The other final ones.

There was everyone but after we did that beat

video, I think it was the evening we finished

the video maybe.

For some reason, I was parked at your house.

Yeah.

So we had to go back to your house.

We raced to VicStar.

That's the rest of the day.

Actually, we believe potentially true.

We know it's true.

Yeah.

Because it was VicStar.

Yeah.

I think.

Anyway, we're going through B-road roads.

B-road roads?

That's something--

Yeah, B-road road, B-road, B-road,

B-road.

B-road roads.

B-road roads.

B-road roads.

That's the road.

We're on B-roads and going like,

I think, there's very many in front of us.

Oh yeah.

And you couldn't keep up with it,

but it was so fun.

Oh no, yeah.

I would like to try this at some point if we

do a video on the beat, have someone driving

behind at normal, just driving normally.

It feels like a game to try and keep up with them.

In trying to keep up with someone doing

normal speeds on a normal road,

it feels like you're chasing someone down on a track.

It's great, it's slow.

If I took that to Silverstone,

I wouldn't be having a great time.

But on the tiny little back roads around

here, fun, it's great.

It was just screaming.

Oh that thing is, I do, that is just the

funniest class drive, it's the best.

So yeah, it completely depends on skill

level, there are so many different,

if you are a low skill driver,

100 horsepower, that is gonna be perfect for

you, if you've got no skill,

but you know experience, and you jump in a

500 horsepower jag, or you've done anything,

like you aren't gonna enjoy it as much,

because either you're gonna overcook it and

probably get something wrong,

or you're not gonna use it properly.

So either way, just progress,

try things out, try high power things,

try low power things, just try it out.

I mean, you went from a 750 horsepower,

you had your GTR, which at 750 horsepower,

and you're one eight two at the same time.

Yeah.

It's good pallet cleanser.

Two opposite ends of the spectrum power wise,

but probably both just as fun as each other.

I think people get to hang up on both ends of it.

So there'll be people at the clear end going,

"No, you don't need anything more."

You never need any more than this.

You cannot have more fun than this,

which is maybe you, yeah, but you can.

There are different moments for different cars.

I will get into, that's just a reminder of something.

We will get into this on another podcast.

I will write this down and on our list.

My biggest pet peeve, it's not even a pet

peeve, it annoys

30:34 Pet Peeve: Overvaluing One's Car

me more than anything else in the world.

It's people who buy a car and then decide,

'cause they could buy that car,

perhaps either they couldn't afford something

else or they've just decided,

their life circumstances, they need something

with four seats, whatever the reason is,

that now that is the best car and that no

other car is, but you can see that.

That angers me so, so much.

The cars I like most that I own,

I can quite happily admit their shit.

There are things about them that make them bad.

People that go, they buy a car and they go,

it's best car in a world.

Can't beat that.

Can't beat this.

You're not beating that.

I don't understand why anyone buying anything else.

Oh, those are terrible.

The Vauxhall Omega,

cannot be beaten.

I hate you.

If you're like that, I actually hate you.

I really do.

I can't, I can't put into words how much I hate you.

Oh, you're also, you're limiting yourself.

Exactly.

Variety, mix it up, spice it up.

You will be, and it has, It kind of goes to

just eating like raw potatoes every day or something.

And it has, it has nothing to do with what

you can or can't afford.

It's, it's simply a case of understand that

your car doesn't have to be the best.

And it's not just, there's not only one car

now that you own it.

Yeah.

The amount of times I see people that someone

go, I don't really care about a car,

they go, nothing else is better than this now.

No, you can't do that.

No, no, no, this, I would choose this 100

times out of 100.

If I sold it, I'm buying another one.

Yeah.

Oh, it's annoys me.

That could, I could go on, for hours about that.

Just try things out.

Try it out.

Try raw potatoes, whatever it is you want to eat.

Maybe try some seasoning on those potatoes.

Try banana, who cares?

No, we wouldn't.

Some of you guys might remember from last

week, but if you hadn't listened to last

week, we are doing a show, we are hosting a

show, sorry, called Food and Fuel on behalf

of the organizers there in April the 12th,

on April the 12th, Vista Heritage,

which is a really cool place.

It's so cool.

We have been, this is quite cool for us

because we've been to events.

Yeah.

At Vista Heritage, we've been to collecting

cars, events, and whoever else.

Sunday Scrambles.

Many other events at Vista.

And now, I remember literally said,

I remember saying to Will years ago,

before TDC, it'd be cool to have a show here,

like to do a show here.

We always walk around events and go,

"Oh, I wouldn't wear that now."

Bad, bad, bad, get that car out.

But we think it's going to be really good.

We're channel cars, old channel cars,

new channel cars, new project will be leaked there.

It will be shown there.

It ever goes on YouTube.

It's only way to see that car.

And also, we are going to have our first

proper big TDC show.

So that is going to be late in August.

I think it's around the Bank Holiday in August.

I can't remember.

I think it's the 23rd or 27th one of those.

Something is in it.

Have a look at the Bank Holiday in August and

you will find it.

Again, we'll confirm dates on later podcasts

and there'll be tickets and what such.

It will be at a hill climb.

We're looking at a Shelby Walsh.

We wanted something where you could come and

actually see cars driving.

Yeah, exactly.

Yeah.

some tasty things lined up.

It's got the hill, the Ninky Nunk.

Yeah.

He's got it.

There it is.

I have a horrible feeling he just won't make it up.

We're going to try our very best.

But we've got to go Fours Up in it as well.

Oh, yeah.

We've got a

list of Mercilogos that we are begging for

people to

come with.

So if you've got something cool,

get us, get in contact.

If you fancy yourself behind the wheel,

yeah, get up the hill climb.

Get up the hill climb.

We've got 100 car slots.

It's going to be cool.

We will announce that a little bit later today.

Reserve the day brackets.

We haven't given you a day.

Sorry.

Just reserve August.

Yeah.

And if you can get up the hill at speed,

there'll be some.

You guys are commentating right?

Yeah, we might comment.

We might commentate over the cars going up

the hill climb.

We've got the main straight here is the Niki Nunk.

And it's rolled straight back down the hill.

No, I can't make it to the top.

What section have we got next?

I've got a Lyric.

You've got a Lyric.

What do we call it?

Was it car bars?

This is a forgotten section.

A forgotten section, car bars.

This is an also it's a JME song.

So he's already UK.

Lots of JME songs.

Box in the

35:05 Car Bars and JME Song Mention

eye with my X6 key.

It's a classic.

He likes his BMWs.

This is a there's lots of people that now

take either grime or like drill songs and

then put them over very chill beats.

This one is by a guy called Ronin,

great film, called Forget It.

Then it has the Lyric's from JME Snow Dunder in it.

And the first line, I'm in an M Sport 5 carbon black.

Ooh.

Now that, the reason it perks my ears up,

that's a BMW paint code drop.

It mentioned, just say it was black or white or whatever.

That's a mention of carbon black in the song.

Quite common, but interesting.

That's just, also M Sport 5.

He's talking about at least 65.

I think it might be a, yeah,

maybe it's that.

I was gonna say maybe a little bit generation

at the time.

No, I think it's newer.

I don't know if they still have a carbon black.

They do, Alex's one is, is it not a hair is?

No, his is carbon black, is it?

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Okay, fair enough.

All right.

So, but I did the moment I had it.

I was like, you know what?

Carner.

Carner, let me know.

Talking about paint coats is probably just

googled the car.

Yeah.

You know what, that just fits in there.

He was on end of coder.

Yeah.

He was on the window coder going,

oh, I've got the dummy cilapa.

You know what, I bet it wasn't carbon black.

Oh, that stuff.

Do you know what?

Next, for the next podcast, I'm gonna do

research and find out, I'm gonna find out

JME's plate, get a VIN report and find out

the color code.

So, it's true.

If it's true, I'm not true.

Yeah, no, I'm actually, I'm gonna put,

I will put hours of research into that.

But, you know, if it's true,

JME, big props.

Yeah, fair.

Come, what engine?

Come do some TDC stuff at some point.

He likes cars.

He loves cars.

Ben, you said that you had a--

I have a new section.

A new section.

I thought of this mid podcast,

and I want to do this, because I like to see

this off the cuff.

Ooh, here we go, sports.

We are bringing back one of the week.

Oh, wow!

But I don't want you, you can't think.

First thing, it has mind.

I said it's really tight.

I don't think-- I don't like that.

I like it because you're so--

See, look at Edwin.

He's now scaring the archives.

He's flicking through-- I'm going through

eBay in my head.

Can I look at eBay?

No, you have to go off the top.

What do you want?

What is the heart want right now?

The heart wants any-- No, OK.

The heart wants an E55 AMG, but nice.

But then, I said to you earlier,

you know, what I think I could really do is an SL55.

Now, scary, even more scary than E55.

No, I don't.

It's just I think that engine in a kind of

more coupΓ© version, it suits him.

Like, the big dad wagon is cool.

I like it.

He's big boy.

But something nice about that shape,

and I think I could start, I could set up a

SL55 really nicely to just sit nicely.

Not like the 70-year-old men that used it.

The funny thing is Ben, I said to myself,

and I've been true to myself,

no cars this year until I

fixed the ones I have.

You can't have any more food until

you can't have any pudding, until you've

finished what's on your plate.

It's not happening.

Because the list is too long.

I know it's too long, but the list to fix is years long.

So that means years, at least a year,

until a car can be bought.

It's just not happening.

Don't you work it out, the other day?

What?

Your total cost to fix your cars,

how do you like them?

Yeah, we don't talk about that.

No, that's tough.

This is a big number.

It was a big number.

I mean, we were just like, "Well,

the way to lunch?"

And we were like, "Well, the way to lunch."

The number went all the way to lunch.

Well, we were on the way, and we'd just

suddenly come out of it, and it was quiet in the car.

It was tough.

No, also, I say that.

We got a message at the end from someone who

works at an auction site, and they said,

"Oh, we've just had your coarser come in."

'Cause basically the car, the coarser that we

gave away went straight up on eBay the next day.

Hey, fair enough, it's your car.

He was a young guy.

Do whatever you like, and I would assume you

couldn't insure it.

But it went to this auction site,

and the guy sent us a DM and said,

"Oh, we've got your coarser by the way."

And right next to it was a really nice

looking, whitey 36.

I thought you were about to say you were

going to bid on the coarser then.

No, I kept maybe kind of funny.

No, there was a whitey 36 that just looks

nice and complete, and I replied and said,

"Okay, what's the story in that whitey 36?"

You just sent me the auction link,

and I stared at lunch going,

"I've got one.

I don't need to have one."

It is white.

But this one's nice.

But what would you do with it?

That's a great question.

Would you join the back of the queue,

or would you skip a few steps?

No, that's why I closed the link.

But I might still bid on it.

So you might just end that whole.

But I'm going to say E55/SL55 is my one of the week.

the finish one before you combine you one.

Does that count as selling?

If you just sell it how it is,

one in one out?

No, yeah.

No, like the the Merc I think I will sell in

April, May time to move that on because then

the eight series will come out and I can do

work on the eight series.

The 911, he's he's teed up for next week odd

to get a gearbox put together and in and then

white you 36.

He's up on the chopping block next.

So there's, there's, there's progress.

Maybe the belt is moving.

It's moving.

It's not.

E50.

Don't talk about that.

No.

E50.

Yeah.

I've seen it.

I think.

No, no, no.

That's the black eight fours.

The typical gargoyle we speak.

I've seen the interior of it on the floor.

The statue.

I don't think I've ever seen it with seats.

No, you haven't.

Yeah.

I will confirm that for you.

What's your, Will's, Will's long as it's out.

He's trying to think.

I actually, I had one in my head and I've now lost it.

Is it, is it perhaps in the room with us?

Oh, wait.

No.

Back XF R even though we have it,

but I was looking at the face.

Face lift version of it.

Cause that's part of my problem with these is

the front end.

And, but the face lift of these,

that's a nice front end.

Yeah.

It's quite angry.

You like it.

But it's quite expensive.

Now Ben, I have a feeling part of the reason

that you've brought this office.

Cause it's not a conversation we had earlier.

Yes.

And I know what Ben's going to do.

Cause Ben's trying to feel out people to see

if they'll give him one.

Give me one.

No.

Give me one.

Give me one.

Give him one.

Give him one.

Give him one for me.

But cheap.

Wait.

Oh, I know.

After the Honda, I know only the Honda guy,

but after the weekend.

He's nice and he's the work on,

which I liked as well.

I've been with S2000 and I've won one for a while.

And I did that, got home that evening,

started looking at them.

I just, you like him.

We did find you some.

Yeah.

And we said, go ahead and do it.

And he went.

No, you weren't buying S2K.

I need to sell some stuff.

Guys, everyone in the comments,

can we just get some Ben you weren't buying.

Anyone who has an S2K they want to sell me

for cheap, for some reason.

I like you about to come out with a number,

realize how absurd the number would have to

be to sell out loud and win the mouth.

S2K Cleo.

Hit me up.

Plus cash your way.

Sure, actually, yeah, plus cash.

Not a lot.

No, no, your way.

You hit me, cack.

I'll throw in X5.

Ooh, it's grown.

It's grown.

But it's because...

I would like a...

You'd like a first gen.

I don't know.

I think I want a second.

I like the...

Because they also face lifted the gauge cluster.

I think...

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Okay.

Further than you one.

And also I think I like the new...

On the AP2.

I can see you in the next...

Well, man, check me out.

Check and clear off out of the facelift.

Honda people will say in the comments.

I liked the one that we saw.

There was one for sale, which was very clean.

And it was...

It was...

It was the blue on the blue on the blue.

Yeah.

Nurburgring/sazooka if it's on earlier.

It was a lighter blue, but the interior was also blue.

The seats were like a darker blue.

And then it had a blue canvas roof as well.

And that one's some big silver wheels.

I put on a hedge nicely.

That looks like you.

That looks like you.

No, no, no, it's not a box there.

Yeah.

Boxster is Ben.

Oh, man.

It's not even that.

I think it's just you're a Porsche man.

I like him.

I like him, but S2K.

Hey, man, that's what I'd be going for.

Okay, so if anyone has a written off shell of

a S2000, Ben will not buy it.

I'll consider it.

Ben will look at the ones you have for sale

for 15 grand and not buy those ones.

If you got on for sale for less than that,

less than what?

Less than 15.

Less than 15.

So Ben, you can have all of the ones on eBay.

I think there are some.

Oh, if you have a DC5 Integra.

Oh, I think Ben just throwing out things.

Oh, if you have a DC5 Integra,

I don't know, Corvette, or have you got a

look in the corner?

No, I have a fucking, I have a typhoon

fighter jet, I don't know.

Oh, you have a V12 Vantage.

Great.

Manual.

This is perfect.

V12 Vantage.

Yeah, 15 grand.

Not too much.

I'm changing mine.

Oh, it's a Mark IIS court again.

That's big.

I've actually forgotten his name,

which is terrible.

There was a man called Simon.

Simon on the internet.

A video of a man called Simon.

Driving a Mark IIS court.

Absolutely.

The biggest and hairiest of nuts he must have.

He's driving in such a fashion.

A rally man?

Yeah.

He's not going through the gate,

is it?

He nearly eclipsed it?

Nearly eclipsed it?

No, I don't think so.

No, that's a Manta.

That's a Manta.

Was it a Vuittonan or whatever?

I can't remember.

A Vatican?

Yeah.

Oh, maybe.

I think that is hidden.

It's through a eclipse the gate and you can hear it.

There's something about that,

talking about the horsepower

thing.

That's per, I don't want a 500 horsepower.

No.

I

want a circa 200 or like somewhere between

180 and like 250.

Yeah.

Yeah, 300.

But like that, very light.

Yeah.

Very just, oh, oh, and I would just want to

be sliding it everywhere.

Yeah, no junction is safe.

Yeah, but the problem is- In the rally stage.

Yeah.

And unfortunately, so when I lived in South

Africa, they were everywhere for cheap.

And then unfortunately, England went,

oh, don't.

How can I have those over here?

Ying.

And all of them have been bled dry now.

And lots of the South African ones are four

doors, but then they're all were two door ones.

1600 out, people have now clocked onto that

and you're just not.

Those are bread.

You're just not.

Big bread.

Yeah.

And MST.

What?

The short wheelbase, yeah, I'll call it a little.

That would be interesting.

I went to a rally show.

You know, what a runner, I have a Zonda.

Yeah.

I think a plane, I think I would plane and

maybe a boat.

It's just kids doing their Christmas wish list.

I went to a show, a rally thing.

So now I just want rally things.

That's what happens.

If I do something car related,

if I enjoy that thing, suddenly I just want

lots of those things.

So I'll have an Audi Quattro amongst West

Court, a Metro 6R4 and R200.

Fair.

These are all fair points.

All I'm missing is the money.

Also, we're a delta integral for me is

always, he's always there and I'm just never

having him stuff.

Anyway, I watched or started watching the

Senna Netflix series.

I thought it's an interesting dude.

It'd be a cool story.

I might watch it.

It was dubbed and I've switched it over to

not dubbed it.

It's much better now.

Anyway, my gripe with this is that it starts

out basically at a UK track.

I didn't know that because wherever they

filmed, not in the bloody UK,

ridiculous, suddenly.

I can't remember what it was.

I was like, oh, they must be in somewhere in Europe.

Yeah, because it's all very sunny and there's

a mental hill.

There was something that said that it's in the UK.

There were English and British people there,

and I was like, hang on.

It's supposed to be a UK track.

Yeah, we're at Silverstone

46:09 Critique of Netflix Series Senna Location Accuracy

today.

Yeah, there never mind the sheer drop off there.

And I go with it.

And it's like, yeah, in fact,

it's like one of the big things about that

show that people don't like.

There's a lot of inaccuracies,

one of them being the UK tracks.

They just couldn't film at them or whatever

for whatever reason.

So they just used to just cut different things.

The landscape's so different to how it is in the UK.

If you told me it was Mexico,

no, you're a believer.

And they're like, no, Norwich that.

That's fucks the...

It's changed since like the '70s.

Remember, it was a bit all very different.

It was a while ago.

Yeah, you see terraforms.

It was very different.

But yeah, that really wound me up because I

quite like the series so far,

but I can't see past that.

Yeah, you know, we're here in Northamptonshire.

Meanwhile, Everest in the background is quite wild.

But yeah, if you want to be angry,

go and watch it.

course that.

Okay, on the list of talking about things,

I've got Italian man goes to Reading.

Oh, yeah.

Okay.

So this we get basically, we are all veterans

of the Facebook marketplace game.

And while doing Facebook marketplace,

you meet, you meet some different characters.

If you're on Facebook marketplace,

you tend to be, look, I'll quite happily say

about myself.

Not a great person.

You know, you're low balling people.

You're you're hitting people with is this

available and then disappearing.

the next seven years.

And then coming back and going,

you still have this, you know,

you're not you're not the greatest person.

I the a bath video that went out recently,

doing up my girlfriend's a bath.

We had some leftover wheels.

And so I was like, let me let me try and get

rid of these.

They were in horrible condition,

mismatching tires, just terrible.

And I thought, let me just chuck them up on

Facebook marketplace for 150 quid.

That's cheap.

They'll go.

As you can imagine, I then had three days

worth of what's your best offer boss?

Will you take 50 pounds?

Will you take an box box?

And then on Saturday, I ran,

I got a message from, I didn't,

I didn't notice the name at first,

but you just said, are you available tomorrow?

Will you take 120 pounds?

Fair enough.

Nice.

Sure.

Yes.

Organized to come and get it the next day.

I got here.

He actually beat me to the unit.

So he said, he said, I'm here.

I was a little bit late.

So he said, I'm here.

I'll wait.

And so I got here.

He wasn't here.

That's weird.

I saw he shared a live location.

He was our neighbors, kind of unit down the road.

So I walked over and there was a family party

of maybe 15 people all standing and he told

me, I'm in a Fiat 500, which I was like,

you're picking up a set of four wheels in a Fiat 500.

Fine, cool.

But when I got to the neighbor's house,

there was 10 or 15 people in the driveway

around the Fiat 500.

And I was like, what's gone on here?

Has he gone in and driven into their house or something?

So I walked over and the guy,

this guy in the Fiat went, oh,

I'm, look, the accent's not the best,

but he was a very Italian man.

Okay.

And all of these people were around him and

they were all Italian as well.

Oh.

And he went, these are Italians.

Yeah.

And I went, okay, our unit's down the road.

Do you want to follow me?

And he went, okay.

Came to the unit here.

He got out of the car and he went,

and he was wearing a flat cap.

He was wearing black leather gloves.

He was maybe in his 60s, an older Italian man.

Okay.

The last human I'd expect to be on Facebook Marketplace.

Anyway, these are people who are so nice.

They are Italian.

So he just sort of managed to find it.

He just stumbled.

He managed to find Italian people in the area.

He stumbled next door and found Italians.

And then he got out of the car.

And he was like, this is a beautiful place.

I love this.

I was like, okay, brought the wheels off you.

And the condition is better than I expected.

He gave me 5, oh, sorry, it's 125 is what we agreed.

He gave me 130 and it's a bonus for the deal.

It's a nice deal for me.

He was the mafia.

And then drove off.

And I stood there with the cash in my hand,

just questioning life.

I thought I was on a TV show or something.

I think it was going to come out of the bushes.

I've never had a such a positive experience

with someone I faced with.

He was just the nicest man in the world.

And he was happy with the wheels.

He fit them in his car somehow perfectly.

And I just stayed there.

50:21 Italian Buyer Story

And I was like, this is the one in the million.

The next person I'm coming around is beating

me up and taking my money.

Just like always.

You've had the hide part and now it's time

for the bottom end.

But it's just a moment to happen.

I was like, this is crazy.

So I thought maybe there's a nice tea up for

you in the comments.

Some of your best and worst Facebook

marketplace stories, because I've never had

one so good.

So shout out to you Ivan.

Ivan?

He was Ivan.

Yeah.

Interesting.

Not Italian.

Maybe he was disguising the name.

He was Italian.

Or maybe he was beating on an accent.

Oh, because he could pull up to the Italians.

He was doing that.

And then he had to put on the show.

And then he was like, I'm buying Fiat parts.

I'd better.

I'd better keep this going.

Yeah.

He went home to his wife and said,

oh, that guy over there got those will for him.

Spoke Italian to him, put him in extra fire

when I was on the way.

Yeah, they're all fake notes anyway.

Also on this list from Ben, you've got very

English road rage.

Yes.

I experienced on the way home the other night

from filming the podcast some road rage.

And so basically, as always,

the government shut the M4.

That was great.

So what do you do?

Well, I seem so.

They were doing the road, don't they?

So an order came down from the prime minister.

I looked the M4.

I got out of here.

It's quite late.

So that's my phone.

It went, yeah, call your two hours,

15 minutes from home.

I was like, that's great.

I had to go on

to basically a country lane.

But obviously, it then told

every other human being on Earth to go on his lane.

So we

will go in the same direction now as one

single track lane.

And there's one.

What is it when a van has seats?

What's

that called?

A car?

No, what is a van that people carry us?

But not people carry us.

The transport taxi.

Like an MPV.

Yeah.

But imagine a transit van.

Maybe.

Yeah.

Okay.

So he's put a little pull in and there's a

bit like 50 cars coming down.

Okay.

So we're all going down past this guy.

He decides the moment I come through.

I'm coming out.

I'm done letting people through.

He's like four people through.

He thought you were at easy target.

Yeah, I don't know.

Also in the next five, it's a big car.

Turns out really into me.

And I was like, I'm just coming through

because I'm all our halfway through.

And then he rolls down his window.

I'm not kidding.

Was he up to his waist out of the car?

Shouting at me.

Basically against my window.

But he, I thought, here we go.

He's gonna screw at me.

And he went, no, no, no.

Sorry, sorry.

Can we just have a word, please?

Hold on.

Yeah.

Could just take him over.

And then I didn't stop because I was so

shocked while the whole thing because he was

so, I saw God.

I just drove past him for like two miles now,

like looking at him confused.

But there was just, it was, I was about half

a centimeter from his face.

And he's just screaming, no,

I'm, I'm sorry.

No, I have, no, I have to have a word with

you right now.

I love the idea that he just pull me over and

be like, and be like, right.

Now, do you think that's the way of acting on the ropes?

Because that's inappropriate and I'm unhappy with it.

The body language is violent.

His body language is going to go quite fair.

Fair.

Yeah.

But also not really fair.

Yeah.

But yeah, he's just, but it's so English.

He was like, I'm terribly sorry to bother you.

But let's have a little conversation about

what just happened with that.

I believe you've wronged me.

Yeah.

But I think we should discuss it

first.

Right.

I'll chat.

I'm not going to jump to any

conclusions.

But perhaps we'll be talking about this.

And he gets out of the car and he goes,

right then, come here,

put him up.

I can't make, just come over over there.

Do you mind just pulling over to the side of

the road here?

I'd like to talk to you quickly about something.

Right.

You've had it now,

son.

So that's nice.

That's a positive road rage experience.

Did you come off the other side of it feeling

like, maybe I should be more calm.

I merely pulled over and then just sent that

in the chat.

So what I took about the podcast.

Shall we end with a carspiracy?

Our favorite section.

I don't have one thing.

This actually leads into carspiracy.

I really believe this is a carspiracy.

Okay.

54:00 Phone at Fuel Pump Myth

out in the jacket earlier filming and we had

to put some petrol in it.

Now, I'm at the pump.

I thought, you know what?

I'm going to look at my phone.

Oh, here we go.

Because what else am I going to do?

That's deeply illegal, mate.

You can't do that.

Well, that's what happens.

Over the time I hear, can you get off your phone,

please?

You're not allowed to have phones at the pump.

I thought it's not for me.

That can't be.

I'm on my phone.

Sorry.

I'm on my phone.

I got here.

And then she said, pump number six.

You're not allowed to be on the phone.

Okay.

I gave her a condescending look and I slid to my phone.

I put my phone back in my pocket.

I thought you win this time.

Because I'm the one putting the fuel in right

now and I need it.

But we've looked into this before,

right?

This is the longest running lie.

Myth.

There are people that are being paid at these

petrol stations.

I believe that.

I have to enforce this.

It's like teachers when you rock back on your chair.

I saw a kid break his neck.

I said this earlier as well.

A phone in your hand when you're

standing next to a car full of thousands of

electrical

connections, which at any one time might

short and create a

spark.

But a phone, which I might be wrong,

but in my life,

I have never seen a spark or anything conducted.

I'm fairly sure someone will know this more

than us, is

that the whole phones blowing up at petrol

pumps thing came

from one incident.

No phones, meanwhile the

phone in your

car.

What's

the conspiracy?

Is it they don't want you to check your phone

and see the fuel price just up the road?

I have nothing, but it has to be a conspiracy

in there

somewhere.

I put it out of my micro and it went on the

floor and I was like, "I'll get the sand,

whatever, she shouted at me and kicked me out

on the post stage."

She does that over a ten-eye?

Yeah, and I felt more rage because it was

over a ten-eye, it felt so aggressive.

She does, it turns out she just does that

when anyone's done, they've just finished filling up.

She goes, "Leaf, you were going out next person."

It feels a bit like a dystopian type thing.

I'm being bollock, essentially.

By the overall.

By a person over a speaker.

Yeah, social credit is going crazy.

Meanwhile, I have to pay a pound 40 for the post.

pleasure.

I had it in during COVID times.

It was like in

58:05 Fuel Station Conspiracy

the summer, and everyone on my parents'

street was very old.

So they're like, "We ain't going out.

So can you go do our shopping and what such for me?"

So everyone there had lawnmowers and things

that were trying to cut their grass.

So I had like five or six jerry cans to fill

up for different people.

They're not all for me.

And guy came over the tanoy while I was

filling them up and went, "No,

you can only do two.

You can only do two."

And I was like, "What?"

And, but he didn't stop.

So I just carried on filling them.

So I've got, I think I got five and a half

or, sorry, four and a half filled up.

There was one left.

And he walked out and was like,

"Did you not hear me?"

And I was like, "Sorry, I don't understand.

Why can I only have two?"

And he went, "We can't legally sell more than that."

And I looked at him and went,

"What about my fuel tank with a hundred

liters inside of it?"

I think it actually might be a law.

It is a law.

Yeah.

Because it's preferred like explosions and what such.

So they can do like one 20 liter can and one five.

I remember what it is.

Absolute nonsense.

I can fill up a hundred liters in my car,

go home siphon it and have that in five jerry

cans, but I cannot purchase it.

Are you joking me?

Are you dumb?

We need some kind of dummy that goes in the

car, but it actually goes into a jerry can.

Down into the jerry can.

But he got proper shirty with me.

Is there anything wrong with just squirting

it on the floor?

Oh, you get kicked out.

Just on him.

You get kicked out.

Yeah, but you can't, but there's nothing

wrong with it.

If you're paying for it.

But there's no law.

You can do five liters on the floor.

Oh, sorry, sorry.

You can pour one out for your full home.

You can pour one out for the old dinosaurs

and then, what's wrong with me just whacking

80 liters on the floor?

I've got a petrol station, you can't go to do that.

Even 0.8 of a litre, she's also--

It was probably like, it was like a drip.

If it has to be in the car, can I just fill

up the boot?

Or just like the other footwell or something like that?

It's a jerry can in my car.

Yeah.

No, no, that's what--

'Cause what is a fuel tank, if not a big

jerry can in your car?

What do I start to doing afterwards?

I would put it in the boot of the car and

fill them up in the boot.

That's not a joke.

No, not in the boot, like in the weather,

spare wheelers.

No, no, no, the jerry cans were in the back

of the car, but I didn't put them on the

floor outside, so it just looked like I was

filling up from the back.

Yeah, it feels very British,

this kind of like--

It's ridiculous.

It makes me so angry.

What can't do that?

You can't talk about why I can't.

Because you can't.

Because we said so.

'Cause you can't.

Nah.

'Cause it's not allowed.

Angry.

There's a rule.

But anyway, what is the conspiracy?

Car conspiracy, the government won't fix

potholes as they make too much money from.

From them.

Okay.

Why do they make money?

Hang on.

Allow me to say the experience.

I got more.

I think it has a point.

I don't know what that is.

The A.A.

put out a post saying last year that the UK

spent Β£579 million fixing damage to cars

related to potholes.

Provided that 20% of VAT was included in that

cost, that means the government made 115.8

million in taxes from pothole related repairs alone.

The more potholes, the more damage to cars,

the more tax revenue they make.

That is interesting.

Hold on.

What?

Hold on, I didn't get any of that.

Can I have that guy possible?

Basically, they're saying that car go through pothole.

Yeah.

Pothole.

Hurt car.

On a go.

On a go fix car to council, though.

No.

Just personally.

Because it wears the money on the way.

It wears stuff.

Okay.

And then the VAT from the VAT,

the tax, if you are not English,

on the--

It's like your sales tax.

Yeah, on the repairs of the car.

Exactly.

20% extra.

That makes sense.

Hey, man.

And they're saying they're not fixed in the

potholes, are they?

So it doesn't cost them money.

So it is increasing, let's say,

footfall in tire shops and wheels.

Yeah, exactly, yeah.

Yeah.

Are they saying that's how much that would cost?

Apparently that is apparently a report from the A.A.

Half a billion pounds a year is spent on just

pothole fixes.

Yeah.

That seems high to me.

That does seem high.

That does mean to me.

And how many, how do they know?

No, hold on.

Hold on, Ben.

We've got, how many people are in the UK?

60, 65, 65 million.

65 million.

So you're saying that everyone in the UK is

spending seven or eight pounds on a pothole?

No, it's probably one guy paying like 20 quid.

20 million.

Yeah.

How do they know they've come from,

like, where's this data coming from?

Like tire shops, are they writing it down,

are they?

Yeah.

He came in and he asked, is that a pothole?

Did the government do this pothole?

Just making sure it wasn't a private land pothole.

This was a government owned pothole that

damaged these four wheels, was it,

right, write that down, put it on the tally,

send it to Starman now.

I like it.

I don't, I don't.

I think that's, that's, that's.

Oh, I think there's something in it.

Yeah, I think the data's off.

That's what if we use the whole brain?

I think that is, that someone in the pub has

gone, you know what, it's 900 million people with wheels.

No one's talking about this.

And I spent 100 million screen on potholes.

Okay, but, but, right, let's ignore the actual numbers.

I mean, an interesting idea with data.

Hang on, hang on.

Let's ignore the specific numbers of how much

they're making off of it.

Would you not agree that that theory makes sense?

Even if they're making 40 quid a year.

Ben, we need to get you some tin foil,

brother.

Do you know what?

We will actually want to get tin foil for podcast.

I think, I think at most, it would be

whatever we described it as before,

where it's not plan bobs or lessons,

whatever, where they're not actively doing

it, but they're like, this is kind of nice extra.

Learned ignorance.

Something like that.

But I think, I also think they just aren't doing that.

I think there's too much, I think there's too

much pressure on being like,

these roads of shit, we pay for them to do that.

I think there are too many shit roads for

them to fix, which means they can't fix them,

which I think that's the issue.

I drove for a putth on my A3,

killed my ABS module, and I paid.

No, you paid a scrapyard, 80 pounds for...

And it was the wrong part.

And I paid another 120 pounds to different scrapyards.

They paid no V8s.

I did it for eBay.

I did it for eBay.

Government walking into scrapyard,

numbers looking up, boys, that's good.

I had to pay my mechanic to install it.

Fair?

It's fair, but...

Cash.

No, no, you pay tax on that,

Ben.

You take that back.

Nah, actually, you know, I did pay on card on

that occasion.

There you go, I always pay on card.

Okay, I think we'd be going circles around

this for a while, but are we gonna say,

you put in the comments what you think about it.

We're gonna choose this moment to end the podcast here.

It's been a bit of a long one.

We will see you next week for the Cars Rule

Everything Around Me podcast.

Cream get the money, dollar,

dollar bills, you'll buy.

Come to the show.
