0:00 Introduction and Rule or Ruin
Okay, well, we're not swinging,
we're just dogging.
We're just dogging.
No, we're just dogging, but I'm cucking.
No, you're coddling.
You're still dogging.
It wasn't that hot.
It was like 21 degrees, right?
So it's not...
Brogy, there's
a fun fact.
It was a bright summer's day.
Thank you for applying to attend the Quail at
Motorsports, gathering on
Friday, August 14, 2026.
You've been approved for one media
potential.
Hello, and welcome back to the 87th Cars Rule
Everything Around Me podcast.
podcast with myself, Edwin, Ben to my left,
and William behind the camera.
Hello.
No, if this is your first podcast,
it's not correct.
Sorry.
Will is on my left.
Ben is over there.
Hello.
Before we start every podcast,
we answer the question, the Cars Rule or Ruin
Everything Around Us.
It's
been two weeks.
Three.
Since we recorded the podcast.
It's been three weeks.
I had two weeks of great silence away from you.
Anyway, we have things to talk about.
Benjamin.
I'll kick it off.
Oh, football for that reason.
I'm in rule.
Okay.
Okay.
My golf.
We did a video on the second channel where we
serviced it.
The one on top comes in the video is did Ben
just want a free service.
And hey, listen, it wouldn't hurt.
But.
Could a guy just get a service around?
Yeah.
Did that?
That's nice.
Look, get to get to the point.
Did some good maintenance on that?
No, no one's here for that.
We're not here for that.
Yes.
1000 has been sold.
Jesus Christ, he's done it.
It was sold to a man.
And that man is not a creamer.
No.
Was he blind?
No, he saw him in a good car for a good price.
For a good price.
Yeah.
I mean, yeah.
What did you not tell him?
I was actually as honest, I physically.
Was there five grand in the boat?
Well, hey, Ben showed him a press photo of an SDN.
That's great.
I'll take that.
No, I took it to a lovely village green.
So it was warm.
So you driven it?
No.
No.
No.
No.
Did he get to sit from cold stuff?
Yeah, he did.
I did.
Like our golf our owner, cold start?
Like cold start.
Like it's going to be a cold start.
It's going to be a cold start.
It's going to be cold start.
It's going to be cold start.
I always make sure it's cold start.
It actually was a cold start.
I sold it.
It took two hours to sell it.
Two hours?
Two hours.
It's in that a long time ago.
I didn't have my car.
It took two hours.
I put it online.
I was shaking hands.
It was like two hours.
Crazy.
Oh, wow.
Sorry.
It took two hours.
That's pretty good.
That's usually how you know you're selling to cheap.
You always went on like that.
Well, so well, either way, he's gone.
It's gone.
How do you feel about this?
I am happy it's gone.
Wow.
Crazy.
Now, there's something we will get on to later on.
Ben's put it on the little list to talk about
and he came to me earlier on and said,
crazy.
Oh, you're going to have to prepare yourself
for an official L.
I'm confused.
But it turns out that the table has been
turned because you say, hey,
you're just kicking your mouth.
silent, but just one moment.
So someone will know that I mentioned those
podcasts at one point.
It may have even been done privately at first.
I said to you that you would sell that cut
despite you going, it's my dream car.
I'll never sell yes to a thousand.
I love that car.
Turns out it wasn't my dream.
And I thought I just had the feeling that you
wouldn't get on with it.
You would never gel with it eventually.
And you would eventually sell it.
And I said that quite soon.
And I was being kind of ambitious.
I said by the summer solstice,
which I believe is in the butterweed or so.
June 23rd, maybe.
June 21st, I want to say it is.
So days away.
And you've sold it.
But he seems, Ben seemed to think that the
bet I made is that he would sell it after the
summer solstice.
So I was saying he would like it and keep it.
What sort of bet do you think I'm making?
I'm betting that you'll keep this three
months and 50 days.
Because of how much you like.
I think you'll sell it.
But not before the summer solstice.
When you said it, it made sense when you said it.
However, like what I thought was that you
were, I thought the bet, after I'd sell it,
I'd sell it.
Which is obviously not true.
And that you were based saying,
you're going to take ages to sell it because
you're about to sell it in cars.
But bet two.
Yeah.
I was entered the fray now.
What's that?
Oh, yeah.
Gone.
And I want my painting.
If it happens.
Tell the folks who don't know.
So bet one, you would sell the S2000 before
the summer solstice.
Which I have done.
I'm making bets like groveling medieval peasants.
We will settle it with a jewel at dawn,
I think.
So that one, of one.
Pretty sure.
Pretty sure.
That's the second one.
We'll go on an act of going.
The odds on this one are really insane.
And then the next one was that if
the S2000 was to be sold, or when,
that you wouldn't buy a
car before Christmas.
Now you for some reason moved that to the end
of the year because you thought that extra
little five or six days in between Christmas
and the year is golden time.
We usually have quite a lot of time on Christmas.
The three of us.
Two or three days.
Also most people by the end of the year us.
By the birth of Christ of the baby Jesus.
Once the new year has been brought in with
fireworks, you will not buy a car.
So is that feeling positive for me or?
No for me it's feeling good because I'm now
starting to think about what I want to buy.
Now there's cash in the bank.
But you must know listeners that when Ben
starts to think about something.
We're years away.
We're years away from commitment going on there.
It starts with thinking and then we're going
to go through a phase of I'm not going to do it.
I can't do it.
And then it will go back to thinking for a while.
And then we'll have a tease of commitment
where it's like, I'm going to go look at one.
I'll look at one this week.
And then after that it goes
back to now I'm not doing it.
And then we will have to intervene.
Exactly, correct.
But I don't want to intervene
because what I'm owed is far better.
Even if we end up making a video,
I don't care about any of that.
I want my painting.
So here's my issue.
There's nothing I want.
Well, let's tee up the artist because I
usually have a pretty clear idea of what I would like.
And I found myself in this position where I
don't know what I want to buy.
There's nothing right now that it's standing
out to me and going, oh, I really want to own that.
So I think you need
6:16 Future Car Plans for Ben
to taste a few.
Yeah.
You used to go on a tasting course.
Yeah, but so swill them round a little bit.
Oh, quite like a clear 197 or 200.
That's a little a cheaper sort of little
freshening up of my of my car ownership.
Cool.
The worst.
I thought the word might arrive at some point.
Forgot I was on a podcast for a second,
if I'm honest.
Or I still really want a Cayman.
Now, they're on the other end of the spectrum
to each other in terms of cost.
So I don't know.
And I had something to admit to you.
Here we go.
I think I would buy a normal Cayman.
You wouldn't buy an S.
I would like an S, but there are two reasons
why I probably wouldn't on this occasion do that.
Number one, Blowing Happy.
Yes.
And you know what I'm like with cars that are
blowing up and I get scared.
And also, after the S2000 debacle where I
lost my confidence in it, I think a 2.7 or a
2.9 would suffice for me.
Yeah, but it's a difference of like 30 horsepower.
But it's not going to save you.
But what I mean is that like just easing into
this sort of thing.
I think that would suit me nicely.
Don't go around and run about.
If I had the S, I would have spun that.
It would have been tyre smoke.
I would have been on the lock stops.
What I mean though, as well,
is that I'm not going to, it feels like a lot more.
Castle and worry and maintenance for
something that I'm probably not going to make
in my stuff.
You don't want the worry of a car that you're
going to be panicked about, so
it's going to blow up.
For context, the earlier 2.7 and 2.9
are far more reliable than the 3.4,
which has the big time
blow up issues and four score issues.
I don't want other
convertible issues.
It's the big raindrops.
In the summer, but we live in the UK,
so there is like eight months a year where
it's basically pointless.
And then the entire time, I haven't got a
garage, so it's just sitting on the road.
The rest of the year?
Yeah, you--
Yeah, I just don't want to deal with anything like that.
But then, like, all good, bad relationships
in a year or two, he's going to go,
"I'm back.
I want it back."
I want that back.
Listen, it was just bad timing.
Yeah.
I don't like it.
We're giving it another go.
Right person, right car, wrong time.
No, we didn't click.
Oh, the spark was gone before it even started.
There was never a spark.
There was never a spark.
I tried to make it a spark.
I tried to create a spark.
Anyway, so that's my current thinking is
Cayman, normal Cayman, cue the comments of,
"Oh, you want the 3.4?
I don't care."
But Ben, hold horses.
Consider the horses help.
The 2.7, the 2.9, they are the thinking man's Cayman.
They are.
Now, the average punter would go out and get
yourself 3.4, but really, the sweet spot is a 2.7.
Very good, very good.
Probably actually watch that somewhere,
if I'm honest.
Really ill-fitting suit.
What have we got next?
Well, we need to know what you guys are.
What's your problem?
I don't know.
I would just say rule.
There's a few reasons to reign in there,
because most of the logo has been checked out
by some professionals.
That's good?
SBR.
Overall, it actually is good.
It's a generally good bill of health,
but not a good bill.
Never.
Not a good note.
Well, you know what?
We don't know what the bill is yet,
but we will certainly find out.
Which is always a tough thing to hear.
I would say, because we don't know,
that does mean it's bad.
Yeah, so I'm hoping by the time this podcast
goes out, it should be having an emoji this
week, unless they're at any more delays doing
little jobs.
They're doing some jobs and sorting some bits
out so it can be on the road and usable this summer.
I want to at least get the summer out of it,
and then I can deal with other things after that.
There might be an engine that needs to come
out of the car that might be being
politically expensive, but I knew that would
happen eventually.
I just don't want it to happen yet.
If I
9:58 Edwin's Golf and Mercilago Updates
can get six months to a year out of it
before, I think the big jobs need to happen then fine.
Would you say it's a redacted amount of work
at the moment?
It certainly is, because taking the engine out is...
I don't really want to do it because it takes
a lot of time.
Now, it's cheap though, right?
Yeah.
Am I right in saying that, to take an engine
out of La Vida Merciago, you must construct a trebuchet?
Yes, you cannot use a normal engine crane.
You have to use this great big frame.
Some people suspend them from lifts and stuff
like what we've got here.
And then you have to...
It's the sort of thing you use to sort of
relieve a tree stump.
Not relieve it, but relieve the ground.
All the trees are crazy.
So it's because you take the engine and the
box out all in one.
And it's a big lump.
And it's...
Yeah.
Not pleasant.
So you tend to do the clutch and some other
jobs while you're in there.
But it's all very expensive.
All the parts are very expensive.
And then the labor to do it,
it's a few days.
It's a different version of car people's
while you're in there.
Like, usually it's while you're in there,
just do rods for 300 quid.
Most of the longer while you're in there is,
just do another 20K or do another 50K while
you're in there.
Yeah, just do another...
And it can be.
I don't think there are ways round lots of those things.
I'm really hoping someone will come out with
some form of a decent aftermarket clutch.
I don't know how someone hasn't done that yet.
Clutch is a 5,000 pounds.
And then the release bearing is 4,000 pounds.
I mean, for reference, normal you get a
release bearing with a clutch.
And they might cost, I don't know,
20,000 pounds, up to 100 pounds.
How can it be?
4,000.
And no one has made one.
It's Lamborghini or nothing.
I think there's a couple of,
I've heard some companies that rebuild clutches.
There's a Kevlar one, I think in the US.
That's wild.
Rebuilding a clutch because of how expensive
the original clutch is.
So, but I will cross that bitch,
won't it?
Cross that bitch.
I'm gonna cross that bitch when I come to it.
Cross that bitch.
I come to it.
Other than that, what else
is there?
Well, you've got that I have been away for a
few
weeks and you've been working on this thing.
Oh, and golf
has been there.
Oh, I actually also pipes have arrived.
Oh,
yeah.
But the Mercilago, which is obviously,
I've been told, you know, in these lots of little jobs.
So I said, well, let's get a fab speed going.
I've been talking to fab speed for a little while.
And I told them about Mercilago.
And they said, yeah, yeah, we've got a system for that.
exhaust to me for a Mercilago.
So it's got an X-pipe with these bigger tail
tailpipes as well.
Plus, I've already got sports cats that's
going to make it very, very good noise.
But Mercilago is coming on nicely.
I'm getting a bit frustrated because it's
been, I think around about two months now,
since the auction, and I haven't driven the
car on the road yet, but soon come.
What else we got?
Golf will get to in a sec.
Again, I've got all my bits now as well.
So that's kind of rule.
So that's cage seats, all those bits.
And then, yeah, the golf.
the golf would almost put this as a ruin.
So I, I came in this morning,
haven't seen the guys for a while,
and I said, ah, how's the golf?
Because you guys are doing some things.
And there was sullen looks and anger on faces.
It was just the.
The VO won't be out yet.
So we won't say too much.
No, it won't be out yet.
I'm on there.
But there's a couple of leaks this car had.
If you know golf files or you know this
engine, you'll know exactly what it is.
Just the shittiest job.
I would rather work on the RS6 for the next two weeks.
We were a sad man.
And I couldn't help him.
There was
nothing I could do.
The multiplication where I offered my help.
I'm 140.
It's like I can't.
I'm 140 is a distant memory at this point.
But my God, what a glorious autumn.
A bit like that was to work on.
Everything's where everything works.
Everything's in the right place.
Nothing's, there are plastic bits for sure.
But everything on this engine is plastic.
Everything.
Sump is plastic on this car.
And nah.
So no, so not great on the golf.
wasn't for a mature guy, I would be in the
deep depths of ruin.
Well, shout out to Car Vertical,
who is both the sponsor of this podcast and
also they were the ones that challenged us to
buy this Golf R.
So you might might find a horse's head in
your beds from Will, Car Vertical,
if you think because of this car.
But as always, if you're buying a car or a
van or a motorbike, run a car vertical check.
It tells you if a car's been crashed,
stolen, plucked, any and that sort of stuff.
It turns the stones from which things are
hidden under is what they like.
That's exactly how they ask us to say it as well.
No, but thank you very much Car Vertical.
Make sure that you run a check.
If you're buying a car, you can use cream for
20% off your next check.
You can get up to 50% off if you bundle a
load of checks together.
If you're buying lots of cars or perhaps
you're looking for a Golf R,
you'll probably need more than one check.
But shout out to them.
So overall, it's a rule.
Overall, rule, because things are looking up
and I can't wait to get mostly longer.
I am in ruin.
Why is that?
For car reasons, I was away in FlowRider,
not at his house, just in the state of Florida.
And I decided to rent a car while I was there.
So I went on Churro because I do believe
Churro is better than renting at a,
not sponsored, at a, what do you call it?
From a rental, because you can get something interesting.
You can get something cool.
So I got a Range Rover, because my thinking
was I was doing lots of the parks,
all of the Disney and that sort of stuff.
The last thing I want to do is come out from
a 30, 40 degree day and go straight into a
brown beige, horrible thing that has,
is nasty inside and doesn't have working AC,
whereas a soft plush Range Rover is very nice.
All two weeks, perfect.
All good.
The second to last night, driving home,
I hear a bang.
I look up to rock chip on the windscreen.
Oh no.
Who's responsible for that?
That's me.
Oh, it's an L405.
It's an L405 with a heat of windscreen.
Which needs all the calibrating and...
which needs all the calibrating things.
So that is going to cost me probably what I
paid for the rental again in my damaged liability.
Yeah.
There's no insurance for it.
I'm sure you could have chosen some,
but did I?
Okay.
No, of course not.
So that's tough.
That's a rough one.
I'm an idiot.
No, I'm an idiot.
I will fully admit this is on me.
This is no one else's fault.
That is a tough one.
So yeah, I'm upset about that.
And then there's just lots of little things I
keep forgetting that I will remember as we go
in the week.
Oh, no, that's it.
That's the great thing.
Came back.
You didn't remember.
Yeah, I said I would.
Came back, arrived home two weeks away.
We took my girlfriend's a bath to the,
what do you call that thing?
That's called the airport, isn't it?
That's where you find it out of.
Yeah, that's the one where planes go.
Got back, tough playing home,
didn't sleep a wink.
I was like, it's fine.
Just got to get home, walked up to the car
with the car on lock.
No, battery dead.
Amen.
That's not so bad.
Put the key in the door.
Did the lock work?
No, it did not.
So the key, something either broke in the
door or something's popped off in the door.
The key no longer unlocked the door.
The car is dead.
The battery is under the bonnet.
The bonnet you must use, you must open via
inside the car.
So I was standing in the long stay car park
of Gatwick looking around with maybe 20 to 30
minutes sleep from the day before.
I was angry.
I was an angry man.
I will gladly admit.
And my first thought was I'm going to smash the window.
I'm just going to smash the window.
window.
And I got straight through the windscram.
Two foot.
That's not even our car.
No.
And one of the only things
that stopped me is she went,
please don't.
Like in quite a
sad way.
And so luckily our two friends that we went
with
there were there as well.
I thought, remember we did it on what car and
what one of the cars was here.
You put a piece of tape.
It's an old school retreat.
You put a piece of tape and you pull down to
see if you'd overcome the window mechanism.
Now I knew that I'd probably end up breaking
a little plastic clip or something,
but I said, let's just see if we can.
So the best thing is, we were parked next to
the bus station where they picked you up.
So the bus was coming around over and over,
watching me underneath the car,
pulling on door handles, just watching me
quite clearly potentially neck a car.
He didn't care.
He was just, they stopped next to the car and
he was just staring ahead.
He was like, I don't care about this.
But so four of us put our hands on the window
and just pulled as hard as we could.
And it slid down, but it did break.
broke things outside.
So not the glass though.
Not the glass as far as I'm aware.
So, so right now my girls, my girlfriend's
car is at home with the window down.
It's okay.
It's permanently passenger.
Also, I did it on the passenger side because
I've gone into it.
That's the door we replaced.
She was in the passenger seat at the way home.
Not happy.
Cold.
Not happy about that.
Yeah.
Hour and a half drive home with the window
down on the window.
Did we slow down?
No.
No.
So, you know, it's interesting.
It was a nice welcome back to cars.
I'm honest.
So, the Range Rover was like,
you know, I'm going to mess this up.
And then the above said, Oh,
you wait till you get home.
Yeah.
So, I need to look into the reason for the
above, but hey, you know what?
It's at least something to do.
Why not?
And also, we've got two weeks now until our
Nurburgring trip.
We do a big company Nurburgring trip.
We've got not much time.
So, I've got my M3 to sort.
Yeah.
No, Will, you've got the McGahn.
It's not on my passing currently.
And then Ben, you've got your Yeah,
yeah, yeah.
I'm going to be running some.
Yeah, I'll be driving up.
Yeah, you're going to really love that as it
comes through that corner.
Yeah.
I'm going to crash the...
I mean, you can't crash if you're in the...
It's true.
It's famously a safe...
How much is the fight internally between one
half of you saying, don't take a car,
you'll crash it, and the other half going,
I actually really want to...
I'd like to drive.
I think he's sold.
I want to drive.
I want to drive.
Oh, okay.
I would say you would be solidly in the...
No, no.
in the former camp.
I know this for a fact.
I haven't...
I mean, try not to think about it.
I don't care right now.
I don't care.
I'm not a car.
I just want to go and have the fun.
Hang on, everyone does that sort of thing.
What fun?
Yeah.
They're going, having the fun.
No, I want to go and...
It'll be a good event.
Great event.
I'm going to be there.
No, it's going to be good.
We're all going...
Have we said before with doing?
It's the whole company across all the channels.
We're going just as like a fun thing.
Yeah, not for a video.
Yeah.
So
20:37 Will's Range Rover Incident
it will be good.
However, by not bringing a car,
there's a few of us that aren't.
So I feel fine about it, but I know the
second that we leave here, or wherever we're
going from, and that everyone's convoying in
their cool cars, I will be the saddest man.
There's two sides to that coin.
Yeah.
And that is that you might feel a bit of FOMO at first.
You know, like if the weather's good and
everyone's cruising around and you're at the
ring and someone's having fun.
But then if something does go wrong,
you will immediately feel like,
"You know what?
I'm chilling.
I'm good."
But also it's the experiences you made along
the way, Ben.
Exactly.
And I think we need to get you into something.
Perhaps it was the lab arguing trip you grew up with.
Yeah.
That's what we always say.
And you'll always look back on it and go,
"Well, I was the car cuck that week."
For a week.
It's been a tough one.
Watching everyone.
Actually, it's not even that,
is it?
No, I won't get into it too much.
You're just watching.
You're just watching other.
You're dogging.
Yeah, you're dogging.
You have car dogging.
Yeah.
Ben, Ben, Ben, the dogging Rogers.
You're not letting us drive your car.
That would be what we mentioned before.
Is it kind of a bit?
You're just sitting in while other people
really abuse it.
You're adjudicating.
It's a bit of dogging.
I'm sometimes filming.
Yeah.
It's probably also going to be a little bit
of swinging as well.
Well, you'll be sharing it.
You'll be going in as well.
No, but no one else is sharing.
I think people will probably drive my car.
Yeah, no one else is driving my car.
I'm watching as a dogger.
Right.
You swing.
No, not true, because the keys in the bowl
kind of literally.
But no, but swinging would imply a switch.
Yeah, but surely you guys are going to be
having to go in chips cars?
No, absolutely not.
Absolutely not.
Oh, I thought you would want to share that
with each other.
What are you talking about?
I thought you guys were friends.
I'm just going to let you just--
Not me.
Oh, right.
No, you guys are going to leave your car.
You might let Will ever go in M3.
Might let you ever go in them again.
But on the nevergreen, that is one of the
last things I'd want to do.
Really?
I'm just about OK enough going out.
The thing is, the thing with the ring is that
it's fine if you're confident in you and
you're confident you're comfortable,
right?
It's the same thing as like motorbikers.
They know they're fine.
It's everyone else that is the idiot.
I don't want to be in charge of Will's car
when some clown-- Oh, I see.
--with yellow plates.
I'm just currying around a corner.
If I'm in my car-- Hey, fair play,
it was my car I chose to do it.
But if I do it in someone else's car,
no, that's that.
I couldn't deal with that.
OK, well, we're not swinging.
We're just dogging.
We're just dogging.
OK.
No, we're still dogging.
Just, you know, let's keep it dogging.
We don't need to go any more experimental than that.
No swinging.
But I'm cucking.
No, you're still dogging.
You're still dogging.
But I'm in the car with you.
Yeah, no, but it's not your car.
Yeah, that's what you're doing.
But I'm in the car, but I'm not doing anything.
I'm just sat there.
That's why I'd say it's a blender of both.
But that's what dogging is, is it not?
You're just watching.
But you're not in the car.
But you're not in the car.
You know who's dogging?
All the people, like if you go out and we're
on the side watching, you can fly past.
We're dogging.
Yeah.
But then I'm cucking if I'm sat in the passenger.
I don't think you understand the terms.
people listening to this going,
can you please?
Yeah, let's move on.
So overall, it's a road.
And if you don't know what any of those
things mean, just keep listening to the podcast.
Yeah, don't look it up.
Shall we move on to things, anecdote,
stuff?
We've got lots of stuff.
And obviously again, some of this will be out of date.
I know some of you didn't like the fact that
we did two on a road, but this time,
well, this time the news will be out of date
because it's news from two or three weeks ago.
But we're recording this on a Monday and this
goes out on the Thursday.
And we will try and go back to a around about
that less than one week out.
It doesn't get any more live and direct than this.
We have been for the last few months,
quite far out.
I think we call it right now,
we're going to say, for all the listeners,
will just it be, is that a hang loose?
Hang loose, that's what it's called.
So let's keep it up maybe like you heard it
here second, but for the month.
I think so.
We'll probably be a week out,
rather than three.
But now we're three.
So let's start.
We're going on the Ferrari Luce.
Okay.
Which I saw last week.
I went to Ital and I went to Motivac.
It's lovely.
But you had bought to drive over there.
Yeah, I always wanted to take it back to the factory.
These are
my Italian's aren't they?
I think they probably are.
It's
all.
Anyway, boring car.
I saw it literally on the road.
It was really like just a production.
No, with with it had like some film.
You see lots of Ferraris out that they do
road testing on.
And I think that's what they were doing with that.
I don't know if it was a production version,
but it was it was whole.
It was there was no camo or anything.
I had some of the film on the front.
How is it?
It was like a black or gray or something.
It was nothing that.
But just seeing it go past, if you didn't
know, that's what it was.
You would anything, it's just having a key or something.
Yeah.
But then you take me, you take me,
then you're telling me here something about the price.
That's a way to word a sentence,
isn't it?
We didn't mention this when we had,
when we reacted to it, it was literally being revealed.
That moment was being revealed.
So we didn't know what the price was,
but the price of that car is £650,000.
Pat pounds, maybe dollars.
I don't know.
I think either.
Great research from Ben as always.
The price is this.
Is it?
I don't know.
It's a lot.
It's in Zimbabwe and dollars.
It is a deal.
It turns out this car costs 38 pounds.
We received a message.
And this man will know who he is.
And I can't credit you.
Maybe you didn't want to be credited,
but even if you did, I don't know your name.
So you can't be credited.
Perfect.
He used to work at Apple.
I have the message.
Do you want me to read it?
No.
You get it up.
I'll see if I can call it.
I screenshot it.
He basically used to work at Apple and he
said that obviously there was meant to be an Apple car.
Yeah.
And someone from Apple went to Ferrari.
And then Ferrari sold, said...
I
know exactly this.
I'll read this.
I'll read this out
loud.
Now, I want to put a statement,
because I remember saying this to you off the
podcast that I remember hearing about this,
that this was essentially the Apple car that
had been not rebranded, but remolded.
So that the Apple car, is it?
So this is from unnamed person.
Used to work at Apple.
Eddie Q, a senior VP at Apple for 30 years or
so, is also on a board member at Ferrari.
When Project Titan, which was Apple's car
project, was canceled internally.
I believe that was 2017, I read somewhere.
Eddie Q signed a deal with Ferrari for them
to make it on Apple's behalf.
Johnny Ive, Apple's former head of design,
designed the car and Ferrari were forced into
using the design.
It's not really a Ferrari, it's actually
Apple's Project Titan.
Now, fine, but why?
I don't think that's fine.
No, no, that's not like that.
Okay, I don't necessarily, I'm not doubting
your validity here, but I don't 100% believe that.
What I want to know is, there is the line
there that says they were forced into it.
Why?
Why did Ferrari have to do that?
Is it fleet emissions?
Also, what elements were required?
Because I still think that Ferrari design,
it's not very Ferrari, if you see what I
mean, but it is modern Ferrari.
Like the rear lamps trying to look like a 360
style, the front with its little like see
through bit, like what do you call it?
A piece there with its little S scoop.
There's elements of it being Ferrari.
It's clearly not just, it's not like a,
like a Honda Rover, where it's just
no, no,
no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
no, no, no, no, no,
Half a million pounds.
But this is the thing.
I think we forget sometimes that car people
are not the target market.
To be fair, we weren't the target market
market, market even when Enzo Ferrari is building them.
He famously said, "Anybody that buys the road
car is stupid.
The road cars simply are there to sell to
idiots so that I could run my racing team."
That's all Ferrari's are.
Most people are not going, "Oh yeah,
but I do like the F-40.
I'm
putting it out to the world."
And if it wasn't, then we
said it first.
But basically, obviously, an electric car
has an electric motor.
Shut up.
Some.
But what differentiates that from the
electric motor in a normal car?
Yeah.
So what makes a Ferrari motor better than a--
Because-- Famously, with supercars,
one of the biggest reasons--
Obviously, there's things like carbon fiber
and bodywork and the fact that everything's
very unique and whatever else.
But one of the biggest cells on a supercar or
a Ferrari or a Lamborghini or whatever is the
fact that lots of the money has gone into the engine.
Yeah.
Powertrain.
You can't get that somewhere else.
A Ferrari engine, you're not getting that in
a Porsche Volkswagen or something else.
So lots of the draw is there.
But if it's just motors, what makes that
motor better than a Kia motor or a Jaguar
motor or-- Yeah.
Or something that's in a Porsche or whatever else.
And that's what I want to know.
And I think that's what's going to be a
harder cell for Ferrari when they go,
this is our electric Ferrari.
And I know rich people can be stupid,
but they are still rich people.
They are going to think, well,
hang on, what am I actually buying?
Yeah.
You're buying the badge.
100 grand.
You're selling loads, surely.
Like Eurus Price, what am I thinking?
That sort of thing you're-- Well,
you about say, I'd even buy one.
No, I wouldn't buy that price.
Yeah, I'd try to do that.
That's 100 K.
Like pocket chains.
Yeah, I'd buy a fleet for my gardens.
Like sort of rainy day fund.
No, I wouldn't do that.
But like Eurus prices or Bentayga prices or
the cars that I think a lot of people buy
them because they want to just,
they want a car that seems rich,
but a lot of them aren't into cars,
maybe.
But a half a million pounds.
You're losing minimum half that suit.
Yeah.
I have no basis
to say that.
I just made it up.
But I think that this is a,
was it accountants?
This is business advice from Ben Rogers.
It's not.
It's not financial advice.
It is financial advice.
I believe it.
Whilst in Italy, I did like a tour thing of
the Ferrari place, like the Ferrari factory
and whatever else.
You don't get to see much.
They just sort of show the outside and whatever else.
But a couple of times they mentioned the
Lucha and the fact that there's,
is an entire building that's like dedicated
to electric motor stuff.
Some of it's like hybrid related,
but a lot of it is, I think,
Lucha related.
But you can just feel the lack of enthusiasm.
Yeah.
But with like the tour guide was like,
well, you might see a Lucha while we're there.
And just the whole bus was silent.
Nothing.
No one cared.
And then someone, then there was a three,
five, five parked up in the,
in the old car park where the old factory was.
And there's people at the window going,
five, wow.
I'm like, it's sad because if you go to that
area, and you see it still feels kind of magical.
It's like the sort of Disney for cars in a
way where there's loads of history,
but the Lucha is like a blot on that.
And it is, yeah, I think it might do okay for Ferrari.
And if that means they can still keep making
cool cars, then fine.
But there's something missing over there at the moment.
And I'm not sure what it is.
Yeah.
I'm hoping people like Lamborghini don't
follow with that.
But speaking of Lamborghini,
big mistakes.
Oh, big mistakes were on my trip.
I went, I've been there before,
but I wanted to go again, because I was going
to other places.
And I thought, well, I'm there.
I want to have a look back at the Lamborghini factory.
It's just a very cool place to go to.
There's not much in the area,
but there's the factory, then there's a little museum.
And that's basically it.
It's just industrial estates.
In the museum, they have lots of the big stuff.
They have a Reventon in there,
they have a Mercilago SV.
They have a Chantanaria, all the big stuff,
basically.
But they had a Mercilago engine,
which is great because it was out of the car.
It was great.
I'll take revenue.
And you admire about that in a few months.
Can I do mine if I nick that?
I do need that.
Well, I saw the call packs in the early ones,
so they were worth money.
And there was a pack that said,
unless you like an LP640 engine,
and I was skeptical at first,
'cause I thought those call packs from 6.2,
but whatever.
And I read further on into it,
and it said, unless you like an LP640 engine,
then it said specs.
It said 6.2 liter V12, 580 horsepower.
Oh, not correct.
Now, this is the Lamborghini fact.
They're museum.
And I noticed this on, there was a mirror
roadster, which they never made,
but it was like a sort of target version that
they built as a sort of special one-off type thing.
Back in the late '60s, I think it would have
been early '70s.
And it said, I think it would have been a
typo, but nonetheless, you can't have typos
in this place.
So top speed, 220 miles an hour.
Okay, of course.
I don't think so.
In the '60s and '70s, that would be quite some record.
But they just kept it quiet.
Don't upset everyone else, just let,
you know, just do it.
But yeah, it was just deeply upsetting.
And then I did a, there was a tour that they
do, and I thought, great, I'm gonna see the
Revuelto stuff being built.
Just, they only show you yours.
And although it is incredibly interesting to
see a production line, 'cause it is mad,
some of the tech they have in there,
but I wanted to see the good stuff.
And all I could think about was they take you
around all the streets and there's like,
partly prepped cars and finished cars,
in mad specs just parked up around the sort
of streets near the, near where the factory
is, but I wish I'd seen that 15,
That would have been amazing.
Because you would have just seen Glado's,
the only thing you'd see is Glado,
most of the other.
Yeah, that's it.
And then there's another room there called Storo Polico.
Storo,
Polico.
Yeah.
Storo, historical, historical,
polo, storico, sorry, well, I've got my words
mixed up, polo storico, which is where they
sort of revamp refurbish, make better the older cars.
I want to see that room.
And it's the same Ferrari, when you do the
tour, they show you to go that room over
there in the original factory where they used
to build the Ferraris before they moved over
to the big one, is classical.
And you can just see through,
and you can see some of the cars,
but you're miles away from it.
I was like, how, I want to know,
how rich do we need to be?
Yeah.
How much influence do we need to have to get
access to any of these rooms?
Same as the Corsa Clainty room at Fierano,
there's just a warehouse.
Those doors will be some of the just the most
wild stuff ever, but I need to know,
without set of bulk cars, how do we get in there?
Let us, let us cream in there.
Come on now.
But yeah, Lamborghini, if you need some fact
checking, let me know.
Ben.
Hi.
More Ferraris from you, actually.
You've put in here.
Is it Ferrari 12 Cylindri, or is that De
D'etche Cylindri?
Oh.
That Cylindri.
Manuel.
He's been there.
Tell me about that.
Tell me about it.
He's done a really cool stuff.
I'm just going to pull it up because I don't
want to get this wrong.
Right, here we go.
Now, can I, I just want to note again,
that I mentioned this in the last podcast.
I said to Ben before the podcast,
have you got all of your information?
And he said there, like this gen said
teenager, on his phone.
It was 24.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And that was either just after or just before
the preamble, where I came up with quite an
interesting revelation.
Please play that, Ben never spends time with
us when he's not getting paid to do so.
He's actually completely fair.
You're that, the bear, and Spyro with a bag of jewels.
And the only time we get to speak to you is
if we spend some money.
Don't put that in, 'cause there's no context.
Don't put it in, then we come back in now.
That isn't a fair thing to put in.
Because it wasn't, I didn't mean it like whatever.
It was not fair, wasting our time with your--
George Crazy is the fact that we all work
together, so I only see you at work hours.
Do you know what's crazy?
Is that I don't know about the 12th century manually.
Tell me about it, no.
A new report's just a worry.
What car?
How'd you surrender?
Oh, thanks, sir.
A new report--
A new report.
A new report--
Sorry, Car.
I'm going to count to three.
All right.
A new report's just that Ferrari could unveil
a three-pedal version of a 12th century.
Okay.
You're worth pulling the phone out for that one.
Yeah, so basically it might happen,
we don't know.
Basically, there are rumors they're gonna
make a 12th century, and it will be a limited run.
Funnily enough, I have heard the same.
From people, from Ferrari.
I've actually just remembered that.
Now I've heard it, I can't remember where I heard it.
Somehow when you have a machine logo,
you end up sitting at tables you possibly
shouldn't be at.
Yeah, you keep telling us things that people say.
I've heard from a few people who've bought
cars, and obviously I'll probably in line for
buying some of those bigger Ferraris,
that there have been hints of some sort of
limited run manual.
Interesting, because quite well,
I wonder if that would increase or decrease
$5.99 manual prices, because that was the
whole, it's the last ever V12 Ferrari manual.
I wonder if people are now going.
I reckon this will be a relatively special thing.
So I always think, when it's not as
attainable as that, I
think that all the stuff will still be pretty good.
Yeah.
Just because they're the ones that--
They're still available, but they're not
gonna cost whatever this new thing will cost,
which is probably gonna be a very special car.
But I mean, it'll be cool, I've been
interested to see, as long as it's not gonna
be some fake manual thing, like that one,
the aftermarket one that we saw.
But interesting, also in a twelfth of injury
as well, I think crazy amounts of power to
have it with a manual.
It feels like, I want to see a manufacturer,
especially a Ferrari or Lamborghini,
make something like that, but make it have
500 horsepower.
Yeah.
Or 450, or even 600 horsepower,
because if you go and make, that's part of
the reason they don't make manuals,
is because everything's got 800,
1000 horsepower.
But if you went back and said,
you know what, we don't care about the speed
anymore, this has got enough,
it's got 500.
Here is a manual version.
Yeah.
This is what makes sense to me.
It's worked with the GMAT 50.
The whole thing is not about the power or the
speed, it's making the best driving car possible.
I'm sure they could have made it quicker,
but they said, they're right,
this is good for us.
I watched Harry Metcalf's review of the 10
Mararia, I was very interested,
'cause I've kind of put off hearing anything
about that car, 'cause the love the way it
looks, I think it looks better than a hurricane.
But it's 900 horsepower, basically.
And he just said it is a one trick pony,
basically.
Well, it doesn't drive particularly well,
it is just eight shit fast.
And that's not, that ain't it.
Also, that means you're getting closer and
closer to electric cars, you're chasing
electric cars, that's the only thing they can
do, is just go quick.
And you're probably gonna lose,
but in the most part, in the real world
anyway, I'm just doing top speed runs.
An electric car with a decent amount of power
is just always gonna be faster.
So just make your cars cool,
make them drive nicely, stop this.
I guess we are the paying customers after all.
Yeah, us, we are buying the new Ferraris and
Lamborghinis.
Edwin, swift to change here,
you've put the police telling a boat.
I don't know.
Right, so we move on.
I saw the police tell a boat,
now my brain has, that's all my brain can give you.
'Cause it was two or three weeks ago.
It was two or three weeks.
From memory, it was also quite far inland.
Okay.
For not much reason.
Or was he going towards inland?
Yeah, no, he was.
I guess at any one point, you could be going
towards the C.
Going up the M40.
You could be going really far towards the C.
Quick, prepare the boats there in Scotland.
What sort of boat was it?
It was a rib.
That's one of those inflatable looking ones.
A reinforced, I can't remember what rib stands for.
There'll be boat nerds in the comments.
I can't even know that.
I'm sorry, I'm meant to take that one off the
list 'cause I genuinely can't remember.
Well, there we go, police toga boat,
if anyone knows anything about that.
No, sorry.
Ben, you've been here.
Vans, I don't know where they can't say.
Vans are cool, man.
Now, this is because you recently moved,
right?
I didn't move.
You had to drive.
You made up a lie about vans to me.
Okay, here we go.
Okay,
41:09 Vans Are Cool, Man
come on.
And it's related to this.
You told me that you could not drive a van
because of your driving license.
That's not what I said.
Okay, here we go.
Let's clarify then.
That's what Edwin said.
That's what Edwin said.
No.
I said I'm not allowed to drive a van because
I'm not 25.
Oh, right, okay, sure.
Okay, sorry, tell me about your van.
Edwin said it was licensed and you said it was.
No, I said that they did change the license
at one point for what you could or couldn't tow.
I can't drive a van.
Basically, I can't drive a van.
Okay, so when I do, ever, next year I'll be
able to drive a van.
25.
And an event at all.
Oh, I'll be there for that.
What would you be more excited for now?
Well, what kind of van is it?
Is it a lute in the van?
Sure, why not?
Oh, I'll toss up there.
So tell us about your van experience.
So is this your first van experience?
No, but I have driven a van before.
(laughing)
The police writing on this now.
(laughing)
Sorry, we've got him, boys.
No, my dad had a van and I drove that,
but that wasn't like a...
Allegedly.
A belingo.
No, 'cause I got, no, just, okay,
rental companies will not ensure me on their
policy to drive it.
I can drive a van.
I'm just making sure we're gonna do that.
If I could buy a van and then drive it.
I don't want you to put this podcast.
I don't want you to put the name of the
podcast in the mud here.
Yeah.
I do criminal activities, drive a vans.
Okay, I couldn't drive this van to rent,
so I had to get my brother, who is much older
than me, who drive the van.
Right.
And I sat on the passenger seat whilst he drove it.
Again, dogging.
Yeah.
Okay, and I was in the van and I thought,
you know what, it's gotta be a genetic thing
or something in the blood, because it felt great.
Just being in a van, I was like,
you know what, give me some newspapers,
get me some snacks.
Chippy, chippy.
I wanna watch the world go by and it was great.
And we drove, it was a sudden newspaper.
I'm only just clocked the way you were.
It was 'cause they always have the cash for
the newspapers.
But it's not, get me some newspapers,
it's
like, get me some newspaper.
Yeah, it's like packing out a package or something.
Or party making a paper machete.
I didn't tell you what I was moving.
There you go, that's speaking.
The journey from where I did live to where I
now live was like, not crazy far,
but it was long enough to have spent a good
amount of time in the van.
I was, we were doing these trips back and
forth, and I just felt the entire time.
All I could think about was how good it felt,
it's been a van.
Now here's my question, was it a manual?
Vans should be manuals.
Vans should be manuals.
I think I didn't drive it famously.
I think it was a manual.
If you got a rental van.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'm not sure, does your brother drive manuals?
He's not going to like an auto license.
No, no, no, no.
I think auto vans, especially on rentals are fairly.
They're quite rare.
No, you just went from.
Vans GB.
I've never heard of it.
You know what, he went to the mom and dad shop.
I've heard of Vans GB.
I say more than the other place.
I'm really surprised.
It's the green one.
That's enterprise.
I thought you were supporting local business.
I think it was a local business.
Okay, well either way, I agree fully.
I think there is something, I think you could
take the poshest toff on earth,
put them in a transit, and they'll start
cutting people up and shouting at people.
Vans have, we talked about it with the range
we had, and we said that Range Rovers have a
similar effect.
Yeah.
But even though they're so different,
I
think it's something in the glues of a van.
I think it's
because the nose is so short,
that you know where, you know
the end of it is, so you just plow through
everything,
knowing that, I'm not gonna hit it.
I love the way you swing in a van round.
Yeah.
'Cause the wheels are right on the end,
you swing it round, it's fantastic.
I love vans.
We've been talking since TDC started,
that we want to buy vans, also the shoes,
shell out the shoe manufacturer.
I love them too.
I also, I'm not that big on fancy vans.
Yeah.
You know, when I see like an MSRT van,
I can understand why people get it,
'cause it's gonna be way nicer to drive,
it's gonna have more stops, and it maybe
looks better to them.
But a little rental van.
Oh boy.
We've got plastic bumpers, we've got
steelies, we might have Bluetooth in there,
so you can listen to some tunes.
Get that.
You've got what looks like a very
uncomfortable seat, but turns out to be quite
nice, and hopefully an armrest as well.
I have an armrest here.
And the most bouncy suspension in the best way possible.
I want to be going, what van?
What did you have?
It was a--
What's the spec on the van?
I got.
So I told you the exact van.
Now hold on, now what I'd just like to make
clear here is Ben came into this being like,
I love vans, and every question we've asked
about the van, he's like, what was it?
So we don't know what van it was.
I know what it is, I know what it is,
just let me find it.
Was it what style of it?
I have the exact spec.
Okay, it was a Ford Transit 350.
PEDA, P/V EcoBlue Group V3.
Okay.
What kind of back did that have?
That was a long wheel base, bit like a
sprinter, but the long bike.
That's what I moved with, great van.
Yeah, too much, too big.
Actually, when I got there, I asked him if I
could get a small one, 'cause I didn't
really, I don't know van sizes.
I almost had a Luton van,
and then I realized that Luton van is my favorite.
So in mind, I've never lived away from my
parents' house before, therefore I have four
items of furniture.
You have a room worth of van,
me.
You went, might need the Luton.
The only reason that I didn't get a Luton was
because it said on the thing where you sign
up for it, can move a three bedroom house
into one thing.
That's what I was gonna say.
I thought, right, I'll go one down from that.
Money bags, Ben said, I think we're gonna
need six of those, two sprinters,
put the Olympic size soon.
But I had a Luton, and the bonus of having a
Luton is that you often get machinery.
So not only do you get a van,
you're also gonna get a tail lift.
And they'll say to you, like,
this is how you use it, I mean,
yeah.
It's in my blood, I know this.
I've got this.
And I got, I got a very squeaky one last
time, it was very embarrassing,
but what an amazing feeling.
I think, and you get a little remote.
So you can send yourself up and down.
When we did Shedfest, to move with a merch,
like from the sort of mini warehouse we have
here, to the event they hired a Luton van.
And literally, that was, it was the evening
that the Lupo met, and mashed itself.
Oh yeah.
And because of that, but even though that was
happening, every single person here was
messing with the van.
Oh yeah, it's-
We're walking around and going,
oh, I drove that bit up.
Oh, that's nice.
What does that button do?
It's got to be in your blood.
It is.
And when you send it, it just feels right.
There will be people listening to this,
that will not understand, until you rent a
van, or you drive a van, or you go to a van,
you don't get it.
I was the same.
I went for the weekend.
We'll, we'll told me once, when he,
I can't remember why you're moving someone
else's house, you drove van,
and you came into car for all of your life.
This is, it, vans are great,
and I was like, yeah, is that true?
And then I helped my sister move house,
like six months later, and I was like,
van's the best thing on the world.
Just think of the world.
And it got a little bit of heart.
It's how I imagine, in medieval times,
a night being given their sword.
Yeah, that's right.
If you have anything else.
Oh, Saya, you have permission to cut off
anyone on the road now.
Here is your LDV, Saya.
The, it wasn't that hot, it was like 21 degrees,
right?
Right.
It's like, it's, it's.
You're going, bro, give us a fun fact.
(laughing)
It was a bright summer's day.
It was.
So not that hot, right?
It's like, I mean, we're talking jeans and a
t-shirt, right?
Sure.
I want to take my shirt off.
Oh, yeah.
In the van, I was like, I've got to whip this off.
You've got to roll the sleeves up.
Oh, whip this off.
I feel like I've, I've never once worn a
t-shirt and gone, is it sticking to me?
But in the van, I was like, hated to me.
Did you have Bluetooth, filming music,
and you connected to that, and you listened to music.
Yep.
What sort of music did you listen to?
They're better, not have been Natasha
Bellingfield in the mirror, but that's not--
I have a playlist of music, my--
Van songs.
I've got World Cup hat from Nighty94.
It was Dab Music.
So my dad had all these songs he played when
I was a kid, but he lost like,
whatever it was, the CD, whatever he was on it.
So over the years, I've been making a playlist.
Whenever something triggers in my mind,
a memory.
A memory.
I mean, Andy's his playlist.
He's playing that playlist, and it was
probably Dab Music in the van.
Give us a taste, what was one.
Now, there's a bit of waste on there.
Okay, interesting.
There's a bit of blur on there.
Okay, I was just a park life,
absolutely.
Okay, now, van, then that might be up there
for best van shot.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I like that.
And then, what else was there?
Basically, just a lot of like 80s and 90s,
sort of Dab music, I'd say.
Either way, TDC and Cream, we're big on vans.
Vans are fantastic.
If I had the space, or even the money,
really, at this stage after having,
I'm just having a van available.
Rather than going, 'cause sometimes it's not
like it happens every week.
Especially in what we do, where you go,
I need a van.
Yeah.
But I want to just go, well,
I have that.
Yeah.
I'll just go and get the van.
Let me get the van.
I want the most basic van.
So my dad had a van, right?
Bear in mind, my dad isn't like a tradesman
at all, or anything like that.
And he was moving.
So he thought, I'm not paying,
you know, I'm not paying the rental charge
for a van.
I'll buy a van, use it for moving around and stuff.
And then I'll sell the van, and it'll cost me nothing.
(laughs)
Yes, you know, shout out Ben's dad.
(laughs) He did that, the van never left.
I want to do that with houses.
(laughs) I'm almost done in a hotel.
I'll get a temporary van.
I'll get a buy the house.
And then I'll sell the house when I'm done.
Because he was moving like over the course of
like a month.
So he needed the van car a lot.
So he thought the price of rent in the van,
like every weekend is gonna be a lot.
So yeah, basically just bought the van,
but he liked it so much.
And me and my brothers all liked it so much
that he kept it.
Yeah.
And he had it for like two years.
And we never needed it again.
It's not a van.
We have all this cardboard, like moving on
something, all these boxes.
We'd stuff that you're very easy to fit in a car.
Yeah.
To chuck in the van.
Took the van to the tip, had like four box in it.
And then yeah, occasionally we just use it.
No, you'll see one on TDC in the future.
I put money on it.
Vans coming.
It will come.
This podcast is also sponsored this week by
our friends at Motel.
Now, I've been using Motel since long before
TDC, long before the Cream Podcast on my E46 M3.
When you've got an S54 engine like you do in
the M3 that gets driven hard,
oil quality matters.
They're on Motel 8100, which is a perfect
blend of oil that exceeds BMW's factory
specifications and stands up to high
temperature on track use, doesn't air-ate and
doesn't lower its viscosity.
Their lubricants are developed from decades
of motorsport experience.
They're designed to handle the temperatures,
loads and abuse that performance engines can
see, whether that's on your road car,
in a track car or both.
Motels have got engine oils to transmission
oils, diff oils and everything else that you
need for lubricants to keep your car
performing at its best.
And you can go on their website and use their
oil finder simply put your wrench in and it
will tell you what oils you need for
different parts of your car.
So if you need fluids in your car and you
want to give Motol a try, make sure you head
over to clubmotel.co.uk and use our discount
code TDC and you will get 15% off your order.
I saw a hearse that I've never seen before.
Amazing.
We've talked about hearse before.
It was a Rolls-Royce Phantom.
Really?
And it flew past me and it was like a,
not original, but whatever, you know,
the 2000s.
It was an original one.
Yeah, it was an original one.
It's silver and then I couldn't quite believe
my eyes and then I googled it and there it was.
And it is amazing, but it was flying down the
fast lane on the other side of the airport.
So I assume it wasn't on a job or it was very
late for a job, but nonetheless.
Yeah, that's amazing.
Just by that.
So on-screen right now is a,
that is, you know what, kind of cool.
Because it's so very long.
I cannot imagine how long that actually is.
If you take the viewing gallery off the back
on what it's called, that's a pickup track.
That is quite a pickup.
Viewing gallery.
Well, it's from the inside out.
Well, I doubt that.
Of the dead, yeah.
No, I mean, why is that not what it is?
No.
It's like a fan.
So you can see in and it's got like the fast and stuff.
Yeah, I guess, yeah, display case.
Yeah, that's the one.
Half is worth it, isn't it?
Green house.
Do you all be cool with hers?
Why don't we have open top hers?
Like imagine that-
A convertible.
But like imagine like a pub truck.
Okay.
You have to scribe the pickup truck is what
you're saying.
Because you'd see so much more.
Or like a phantom drop head.
When you say you'd see so much more.
For who?
Well, because obviously it has those big
windows so you can see all the flower arrangements.
Yeah.
But, get rid of those.
Okay.
But you want to get rid of the glass and then
it's just, it's there.
Okay, but we live in England.
You're not just flapping in the wind.
So do you want Granddad covered in,
you know, water?
No, in the summer.
Oh what, and then have an open casket as well.
Really get the wind in the hair one last time.
I think, but I just thought a phantom drop
head would be quite cool as like a little
display at the back and that'll be a pretty
nice way to go.
Okay.
And I'm sorry to go.
What I'm trying to say is that it's the same
thing as that, but you get a better view of it.
I see what you're saying, but I don't think
you'd see much more.
And also, it's kind of only to move.
Also dead.
I feel like surely, surely dead.
Part of the reason it's in a private box is
so that it's not accessible to the world.
If I'm in traffic and there's just a coffin
next to me, out in the open,
not a fan of that.
That's why it's a drop head.
So you get to the event and you whack the roof down.
Oh, okay.
And all the family can spare their respects
and look at the coffin and look at my flowers.
That's quite a design to have to make.
Yeah.
You've extended it out quite a lot.
And that's not--
No, but it's all fixed.
Yeah.
It's lots of coach building involved.
Yeah.
Someone's got to make a very long,
have you not seen Top Gear?
Yeah.
What's that?
Wow.
Never seen that, never heard of that,
shall we?
You never seen when they made limos.
Yeah.
And Hammond had a--
The MGTF, MGTF.
Yeah.
And famously, only had a roof right for the back.
Yeah.
Okay, but we'll only hear from you,
Will, is that I can't, I can't,
I can't.
That's not what I was doing obstacles in that.
Our own positivity, right?
I came here for answers, not questions.
You need like a sliding roof,
like a sort of concertina.
But would that not be better if you could--
I don't think it'd be better,
but I think it's certainly an option.
If anybody has an idea on how Ben can make
that happen, let them know.
Business.
Send us a sketch for a blueprint.
Business was basically a pickup truck,
isn't it?
Yeah.
Well, with a roof, is what you're asking for.
But I thought that was a drop head.
I couldn't quite, I was a sore phantom in the distance.
I was like, that's cool.
I
mean, it came fast as that.
It was a house.
130.
I bet
that's expensive.
Lying.
We have, it's not J.K.
related news, and it is old at this stage,
but the cream has been back at us once more.
J.K.
posted a video, and I have been sent it
possibly 87 million times at this point,
where he was, basically complaining about the
lute, and in the reflection of his sunglasses
at the beginning of the day,
he could just see the back end of,
I could hear it idling as well,
because it's got the same exhaust.
And then he starts talking about it,
and he revs it, but it was just kind of odd
and strange, but then all of the comments on
this video, all of the biggest,
and what was it?
It was my old Lamborghini glada,
which he now has a private plate on.
But all the comments were, "Creamers will
know, "Creamers will unite."
It has over a million views,
that video.
That's a still Creamers.
Which, good work, gang.
Now, we can't say anything, there's nothing's
confirmed, nothing's even in the works,
really, but there could be a chance we
have an end.
So, we've had a few people say,
"I saw JK at an event, "and I shouted Cream
in his face."
I was
cleaning his gutters, I thought,
"I'll just pop inside "and give him a little
cup of cream."
I broke into his house the other day,
it's just to let him know that I am a Creamer.
Please none of that, because we don't want to lose it.
There might be a very small chance we have an end.
So, don't worry, things are in the works,
but shout out, shout out the Creamers for the
comments, comments are fine,
comments are fine.
We're on it, it's an open forum on the internet.
They always say insight in mind.
It's sort of like, imagine not harassing
another human being.
I'd say that, that sort of thing.
I think that's it, that's all.
Laura Biding.
I have also seen that I believe he might be,
but I'm putting two and two together here,
I have no confirmation, but there was a post
that I think it was another car dealer that
they delivered a car to him,
but then they also posted about a car and
told it was another manual glardo,
but much more rare.
So I think he's putting a team together.
He's putting quite, there was the team here.
How about of interest?
Does he have a Merci logo yet?
He doesn't.
He doesn't, so he's going to need one of those soon.
But he has an SVJ.
Well, wonder we'll get that.
Has he got an SVJ?
What color is his image?
I was actually going through his Instagram
the other day, because I want to see what
cars he had.
And there's a video of his T50 in,
I see with his garage.
Yeah.
And next week you can see SVJ.
What color?
We'll find out, talk.
Don't worry about it, we'll move on.
We'll move on, and Ben will never tell us,
'cause he won't find the post.
Edwin, you've put in here, this is news,
possibly.
Fiesta is so back, it might be.
It might be back now, so I've done research
on this, who would have guessed.
Ford has said, yo, we're bringing out a load of
58:20 Fiesta Might Be Back
models.
I think it's between 28 and 29,
they are bringing out new models of cars.
They have, I think they've said they want to
bring out five, released a teaser,
this is the teaser of the cars,
they bring out just like little sketch teaser things.
One of which is the Fiesta, it's coming back.
That makes no sense.
But, look, I have to say, it's the yes-da,
isn't it?
It's an yes-da.
And not only that, it's based on the Renault
5 Micro A110.
It's gonna be based on that same thing,
supposedly.
However, the thing that says here,
I have no idea of this, is the reason that
they're doing this big relaunch is because
Ford's actually struggling.
But, Ford, in 2019, they had over 1 million
European car sales, new cars,
alone.
Last year, that was 426,000.
And, boards have more than halved in their sales.
And, look, I'm not saying it's related to
electric, but they have pivoted quite a lot,
like killing off the focus, killing off the
Fiesta, killing off the stuff that surely was
making up so many of the numbers on him.
Making the KA into whatever the hell it turned into.
But, maybe, and hopefully, I know they're
saying the Fiesta is going to be electric,
but ETF fully electric, there won't be a
petrol offering, as far as what they've said so far.
It makes no sense to make it a Fiesta again
and not make, that's never been the way Ford
have done it before.
Models have always died, but they make onto a
new one, obviously, it's sad that Fiesta
died, it went on for a very long time.
I'm
not keen on the fact that they're basing it
on
something else.
The Fiesta was good, because Ford made it.
When they made the KA, the car,
whatever you want to call it,
and they made it based on the 500.
It was nowhere near as good as when they made
their own version of it.
And from memory, there were lots of people had issues.
They weren't as reliable as the original car.
They had more bits if you bought the right
spec and whatever else, but they weren't ever
as good as the original one.
Have we talked about the get the KA with a
panoramic roof?
Yeah, we saw that somewhere.
I think I was in Brighton, I saw one there.
I saw one once I was a broad one,
so I saw it somewhere.
But there was a panoramic roof one.
It's crazy.
Crazy option to have it a KA.
And there was a car member, the names of them.
But there's this really basic one,
which has got like the black door handles,
like an either a five RS and like black
unpainted mirrors.
And then you get the fancy one,
like a spoiler and the tallowy.
The titanium X.
What else we got?
Yeah, you could fix up for that,
be lovely.
Can't say some of it.
Something about a golf four door owner.
I saw while I was in America a Mark seven
golf like the one behind and it was modified
and it was a five door and they put a wide
body over the rear arch into the rear door
and bolted it on.
Here you go.
I have a photo of it.
It's gonna be a little bit small,
but I will zoom in for the gag.
Look at that.
Are you are you stupid man?
So the door doesn't that the rear door now now unusable?
So the front door works, but you've bought a
four door and it's now no longer usable.
Now you can't really see, maybe see if I
click on it.
You can see right on the top leading edge,
the recess for where the door handle is,
but now the top of the over fender,
the wide body is just going over it.
So there's no bolt.
There's nothing holding it in there because
that's where the door handle is.
Come on man.
You know, when the people say you should just
spend some money on that, doing that stuff
and maybe stomach himself, but that is maybe
it's a working progress.
Maybe that's the only thing I might give this person.
Maybe it's like it's been bolted like that
because there is a view to blend it in and
they're just getting it right and they're
going to make it work with the door,
but I don't believe any of that.
No, I think they've just done that and
thought that's fine.
That's fine.
I've got a four door, but I'll make it work.
The little platform where the access to the
fill-a-cap is one of the worst things I think
I've possibly ever seen.
Now, this was outside the world's largest
McDonald's, so it makes sense.
It does make sense.
But yeah, tough to see.
Crazy.
Now, a lot of stuff in America is bigger and
better, and I'll give you that,
but it also gets bigger and worse over here as well.
I've seen some bad stuff here,
but nothing quite as poor as that.
Oh, how do you know Valari?
We were talking about that.
That is still kind of old at this time.
age by the time I'm hearing it.
But I think quite a cool looking thing.
I do too, but it does look like someone.
Is it the Squidward thing?
What?
He's German.
Oh.
Oh, okay.
Hold on.
Let me, I'm just going to pop a photo of that.
Oh, no.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It has an, look, it's a moustache.
It has a moustache.
Yeah.
No, that does have a moustache.
It does have a moustache, doesn't it?
Ben thoughts?
Yeah.
Yeah.
So Charlie Chapman.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I was not German, but it does have that.
And once I saw that and I recognized it in my
mind, I thought, I'm not sure how to feel.
But overall,
that aside, so it is based on a Temerario,
right?
Temerario,
but I was, I thought, oh, this is the,
because they said, there was lots of people
said this is R8 replacement.
I thought it would just be less power than
the Temerario because they can't make it faster.
But it is more powerful than a Temerario.
I think this is a thousand horsepower or so.
Wow.
But that's because it's more limited.
one.
So this isn't really an R8 replacement
because it's a limited-run thing.
I can't remember the numbers of top names.
500-ish.
500-ish.
I do think it looks quite cool.
It's a little bit Tesla Cybertruck.
It's a little bit Minecraft where it's very boxy.
And I have seen a few people relating the
design to Mercilago with those sort of like
rear haunts that goes down.
But I think interesting, it's cool that
they're making it and it's got an actual
engine and it's not electric.
As soon as I saw, I only saw the image of the
car first, I thought that's going to be electric.
It's just going to be electric.
But it is going to have an actual engine in it.
How do you announce the production
will be limited to 499 units?
Now, the thing that I guess is it's built on
a Lamborghini platform.
So there hasn't been as much R&D,
but it seems weird to develop that whole thing.
In my head, you do it for like three or four.
We'd make them super, super rare,
but to then to build 499 where it's kind of
in that weird middle ground between a full
production sports car or super car,
and something really rare, it's weird to see that.
I wanna see something in some other colors.
Yeah, that'd be cool.
Also, one in black gets rid of the mustache,
buddy.
Give it a trim.
Yeah, it's not ideal that.
Now, any of you who will see that,
you will struggle to unsee that.
I haven't seen any pictures of the inside,
maybe there aren't any pictures of the inside.
There are, the inside's nice,
is it?
Describe it right now while I pull up a photo.
It's a little bit Blade Runner.
Okay, now it's a little bit modern day.
I'm gonna be honest with you.
That, if you, I'm gonna put it on the screen
now, if you told me that was the new Audi A3
interior, I'd think you're for that,
I think, yeah, that's fine.
Well, it's got the biggest pedals on my earth.
Those are huge.
You can change gear for all your listeners.
It looks like just any modern Audi dashboard,
same kind of steering wheel as usual,
but with a long iPad in the middle.
Like the gauge cluster thing that's locked
away, so the passenger can't see anything.
Yeah, I quite like that.
How fast are we going?
Wouldn't you like to know?
It's quite simple, it's got the buttons,
down there for shifting, which I've never
that keen on, or for shifting between.
Yeah, it's kind of clean, it's quite Audi,
they haven't added a lot of stuff,
but screens are not too keen on.
And the start button in the middle kind of
looks like a touch button.
Yeah, but interesting, interesting to see,
looking forward to see when they come out,
see some cool specs.
Yeah, some of some specs, and maybe that
means Lamborghini will come out with
something equally as mad.
Cool.
So I thought that the Temerario engine,
I'm fairly sure, is an in-house Lamborghini thing.
It says Lamborghini engine.
So at least they're saying that and not lying.
Lying, I think it was L141.
Something that wasn't on the list,
I only just remembered worth talking about is
the Genesis that they revealed recently.
The Magma GT might have made that up,
I think that is the name.
But it's a mid-engine supercar thing that
Genesis come out of.
And they released those sort of concept
ideas, like the G90 wing back,
which is the estate.
And now they come out with a supercar thing
that looks really cool.
And even in the interior, the interior looks really nice.
And it's got actual dials and
stuff.
The Genesis, coming out with some cool stuff.
We
showed a photo before, which was this photo
of a concept of what it's going to look like.
But yeah, they've now
released what it will look like.
And wow, that's a very
cool looking.
It reminds me almost of 1950s,
1960s Le Mans cars looking very low-lourish.
But that's very cool.
But Genesis coming out with some cool stuff.
And who's designing Genesis?
Exactly.
Mr.
Donkelwolk, who I would absolutely love to
have on this podcast at some point and talk about.
We'll talk about Genesis.
But we'll mainly talk
about Lamborghinis, if I'm honest.
If they make that wing
back thing, I genuinely believe that's
something I would put myself into deep finance for.
Like I really would.
It's the wagon thing that they make,
put the concept out for.
G90 wing back.
That's
a fantastic looking thing.
And also while I was in
America, Hein or Genesis itself is much
bigger out there,
you see lots of them.
I actually just think they're kind of
nice looking, even the normal sedans saloons.
They look
nice, whatever they are, I don't know their name.
Some of the older ones looked a bit like a
sort of Bentley copy.
Yeah, exactly.
But some of the newer stuff feels a little bit more.
It's going its own way.
We have news.
One of us, I feel like I'm announcing the
next person to be exiting the jungle.
One of us is going to
the quail.
Now, what happened?
So right at the beginning,
when we said we're going back to Monterey
again, we said we
got to make it into the quail.
And what is the quail?
The quail is the most exclusive event at
Monterey going with it, when it reveals some
of the most incredible girls.
But Mr.
Benjamin said, I'll get the passes.
I'll apply for media and see if TDC
can get in as TDC and not sneak in under a
trench coat that's
17 foot long.
I received an email.
But it's a very
interesting email.
Dear Mr.
Ben Rogers, thank you for
applying to attend the quail at motorsports
gathering on Friday, August 14,
2026.
You've been approved for one media potential.
Benjamin is going to the quail on our other half.
Now, what I just want to bring up is,
Will, did you ever see the form he's admitted
that Ben submitted?
I never saw it either.
So
did he ask for three?
Or did you did?
I asked for three.
I
remember asking for three.
Now, do you think that I think I
don't know what?
Because you both applied two,
right?
Well, I have now.
But what did you put down?
I actually secretly applied without telling you both.
And I applied for three, hoping that I would
be able to come on this podcast.
And go and reveal to you all that I would have tickets.
And then just two days ago, I got an email
and I saw it, the subject, something to do
with the quail.
I was like, really?
It was like getting a golden ticket.
I'm like, my invite hasn't arrived.
And it was like, yeah, so we are reviewing
your application.
We would like evidence that the owner of the
company has said that you can go and do this.
So basically, I have to send them a letter
that says, I'm allowed to go that I'm going
to make content.
And I think maybe Ben will have have to sign
it off for me as head of the world.
They saw the name Ben the event.
Rogers went, let him in now.
He doesn't normally come to these events.
I did put my title from the actual company in
it, which is head of production,
which does sound like I maybe might know what I'm doing.
Whereas, obviously, what did you put in?
I put in, now she'll go, own it.
Exactly.
There you go.
So I don't know if it's that or whether
because I do.
I thought it was pretty professional.
I sent some nice videos.
I said, this is what we do.
I didn't.
I just sent the channel.
I didn't.
You just said, this is how I am.
Let me in.
I'll reject me.
But there was a thing that said link to your
most recent video.
Didn't dirt just put in.
You know I had to.
Wow.
That's why he got in because they were like,
this guy doesn't care.
He's clearly, he's, you know,
big balls.
He's like, I don't care.
I'm not putting a link.
Just for the job you want.
I won't.
Okay.
Not caring.
How would you dress?
Jester outfit.
No, I've got that one.
Got that one down.
As it stands.
We will be dropping at the quail.
Have a good day, Sam.
And Edwin and I will have to go and linger the streets.
And I'll be dressed in Lin Lin Lin while you
won the time.
While you won the time.
I'll be meeting Christian Moncone exactly.
I'll be saying you still face.
Yeah.
Can't believe it.
We'll get in.
We'll get in.
I think I hope we'll get in.
I'm sorry.
I'm sure you'll get it.
Or I'm dressing up as Ben Rogers and I'm
racing to the quail to get in before.
I haven't got a ticket yet.
And I'm going to go.
Sorry.
Ticket to get in.
And also when they say like,
what, you know, publication are you from?
You go, well, none.
I didn't pay anything on my application.
No, no, no, no, no.
That's not true.
To Rogers.
I'm very sorry.
Please.
Please leave some cars for the rest of the people.
I noticed you didn't have a camera with you
and go, of course I didn't.
I didn't say it was making content here.
I am the event.
It's very sorry, Mr Rogers.
Very, very sorry.
Now you will notice it's a very,
not many people in the event.
And I know you're not used to that.
Normally it's stadiums full,
but you should, it should suffice.
I put the publication in I shouldn't link to
specific work.
Wow.
Crazy.
I applied for it.
I should think in the chat at the YouTube channel.
Yeah.
I linked to the TV.
I said, this is my job at TV.
these two guys fly.
They're bad news.
Do not respond to them.
Oh no.
I've got no parking pass.
No, you don't.
You
can drop me off.
We're going to have to drop you off.
Yeah.
And you're too young to drive anything as well.
So we will have to drop your homes.
Oh, we just don't any estimate with us.
Now Ben, if you go Uber to the quail,
it's quite funny.
I would like this as a promise,
please, Benjamin.
Yeah.
Now, if we don't get in, no,
no, no, no, but we are going to have to send you in.
Yeah.
So we're going to have to send you in,
but we will dress you.
Yes.
If we don't, it's quite funny for the video.
If it just cuts to me in the quail,
like eating caviar and drinking champagne.
But make it, I want to get you a secret
camera in a tie.
Yes.
I'm not going to tie.
You eat.
Hey, what we're dressing.
What we say goes.
I don't wear ties.
I don't wear ties.
You know what, Ben?
If it's just, I'm going in.
Ties are, ties are the shittiest accessory to anything.
Tell me a tie.
Well, you see, no, we're in a suit.
It's always better, a two piece suit with an
open button on the top.
Nice crisp white t-shirt.
Get a tie.
Yeah.
If you're a a sort of, I'm trying to sell me
a, you, you, you as a voxel,
you have a tie.
Sorry.
All right.
A reporter in New York.
Yes.
And, and I've been on these three times.
No, no, no.
And a tight clip.
Get out here.
Don't even look at that.
Ben, we're going to send you in if it's just
you and we're going to give you 10,
10 people you need to go and find and speak to.
Ed Bolia, Christian von Kehrlich.
No, no, no, no, no.
But in this case, you have to go and we'll
give it, you have to shrewd and negotiate
with him and go shit with him.
Yeah, Doug Demuro, you have to take his shoes off.
Yeah, off.
Jeremy, you must trip him over because he
nearly tripped when we were speaking to him
before and also insult his cars.
And then who else, who else you must speak to?
You need to.
I want a selfie with Blake Samberg.
Will you be in there?
I don't think he's a big quail guy.
I think he's more of a 17-mile drive.
Yeah, I'm in the mercy.
Gordon Murray, I'd like you,
I'd like, I would like a game-worn shirt from
Gordon Murray.
Do a jersey, swap the exact case.
You need to see if you can get a wine shirt
and you give him whatever you're wearing.
Honestly, what are you going to dress me in?
Ben, that's for us to know and you to find out.
I'm not, I'm not doing that.
Ben, I want to know what it is.
Can it be the exact whatever outfit you want,
but we put you in a bald cap?
Mr.
Pitbull, please enter the quail.
I was thinking I've got a full white suit or
something like full linen.
So you fit in?
I've got a linen shirt, so that's fine.
Like trousers?
Like the caramel from KFC.
I've actually got matching trousers.
I've got, yeah.
Of course you do.
The same guy you said.
Tisable shirt, you mean by looking at his
full linen outfit going?
That's more like it.
I dressed up like an extra from Too Fasty Furious.
I've got white linen trousers and a white
linen shirt I could wear.
But what I have is then I think,
but then I want you in a white Panama hat too.
Oh, that for me is not, that's not gonna be good.
It's something I have like hit man or something.
Also, I would be the most uncomfortable
person that I have.
I know that's why I really like this idea.
Like part of me is really praying we don't
get tickets because it would be funny.
The only thing we're missing is we need
someone else
1:16:14 Quail Event and Challenges for Ben
in the quail to film Ben.
So we'll send you in and you have to livestream it.
And then we can experience it.
It's a sunshine way.
Now you've said you've got, you're in,
you're good.
They're gonna hear this and go,
well, we're not letting them.
You wanna see this?
I'm also gonna wear folks.
I'll film it.
I'll wear a camera 'cause I'm gonna have to
film it 'cause I'm in on media.
You can't get media and just go into the
event and just hang out.
I'd love, I want to put this in as a challenge.
I would like you to enter the quail wearing
whatever you would like.
Fine.
But when you leave, you're in a full new outfit.
And however you do that is up to you.
I would like some sort of cool,
like, Koenigsegg t-shirt.
Hey, you could buy things.
You can swap things.
Swap.
Whatever you'd like.
The Jersey swap is very down.
So go to Mary.
I need you.
I'm just going to be a tough one.
Me and Chris and Vong Koenigsegg are switching haircuts.
Okay.
So how are you putting your hair on his?
Glue?
PVA glue.
Okay, I'm sure.
Shoes, me and Doug will swap.
He doesn't need.
I'm just losing items of clothing.
Yeah.
Trousers will get to that
bridge, you know, at some point.
Now, question.
Yeah.
Let's
say we don't get out of it.
And we have to send you in.
How are you going to get us in?
Yeah.
What will you say?
Can you say that we're the videographer?
We're your videographers.
Can we pretend that you're a,
like, you are royalty in YouTube?
I think there's a basis, though,
if I actually cook genuinely,
if I could get in, I could probably,
because there was a media tent or area where
people were writing publications and that
sort of thing, we'd go up to that desk and say,
listen.
There's two idiots outside.
I'm
the producer here.
And we'd be there in suits with open top.
Ties, slightly to the side.
No, no, Ties.
There's a couple
of journalists outside.
30 cop, the other one's adjourned.
I don't own a coffee.
He's still wise, guys.
You follow me around, aren't they?
Right.
So either way, one of us will be going to the
quail and coverage will happen.
Coverage will happen of the quail.
We'll see how it goes.
It's a big milestone to be fair.
It's very big.
We couldn't dream of being at the quail last time.
Why have they approved me?
You are the event.
That's why.
That's true.
You were the best of us.
You're getting.
Or what if only two of us get in?
Yeah.
But then we can, if we tell us getting,
we can get the influence of...
Also, if two of us go in, then there is a
videographer for Ben.
Yeah.
We can split up and look for clues,
can't we?
Right.
What have we got next?
Now, I'm some real news here,
Ben.
You've put this in.
Let's do it.
You said you're prepared.
Yeah.
New M3 concept.
I'm going to put the photo up on the screen.
I'm going to say it.
I don't like it.
I don't mind it.
I like it.
I already liked the i3.
i3 is the new electric 3 series.
I liked the look of that.
I don't mind this at all.
This is a concept.
This is not confirmed production.
So it will probably be dialed back a little bit.
But I actually think that's kind of good.
I think this is a bit too concepty.
I think once this gets some,
some, some Germans looking at it going
zaville, this must be a little bit in the front corner.
It's a bit too much out.
Then I think that's going to look really good.
I like it.
I don't like the beauty spots it has on the
side of its cheeks.
I'm hoping those are the things that get
something similar on the rear.
The rear I quite like, actually,
if I remember correctly.
Yes.
It's got the same odd reflector type things or brake.
I don't know what they meant to be,
but hopefully they are deemed too sharp and
get, you know, moved or removed or something.
But like the diffuser and the rear bumpers,
which is wild.
Yeah.
So this is, so they have confirmed because
they, we already knew that they were supposed
to be, they'll bring out the electric and
they said, we'll do a, we'll do an engine one
at some point.
I, I'm really keen to see the,
what's called the engine one,
but I hope, I hope they don't do this thing
where they go, the electric one gets certain
things or certain looking features and the
petrol doesn't.
Cause like the i4, you have the i4 that has
that, the long front end.
Yeah.
And then the normal four series doesn't.
As long as they all look the same,
if that makes sense.
I don't want, I don't want to go the electric
M3 has a nicer front end.
That's annoying.
Yeah.
To do that.
But I'm, I'm excited to see this.
I'm trying to prefer the, again,
yeah, like I said, it is, it's extreme.
But once it gets dialed, a back,
then perhaps, perhaps it could be a thing.
Also, it's a fordle.
I love that.
I love we're back to saloon shape.
This is, that's how, that's how M3 should be.
Well, obviously M3 always was,
but it's, it's kept that like stubby.
It's got E36 proportions.
Yeah.
It's what this has.
But I don't know if they've mentioned this
in, off the top of my head, they've hinted
that it'll be a hybrid, I'm assuming the petrol version.
I think it has to be.
Yeah.
But like surely that's going to be coming up
on a two-time M3.
Yeah.
exactly.
It was very fast and everything.
But it was pretty heavy.
And now we are at M5 size in M3,
because I imagine it looks quite small,
but I bet it is actually quite big.
A 2025 is in three.
It's between 1700 and 50 kilos and 1800 and
10, which is probably of something.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Or M3, the touring.
But yeah.
So that with the hybrid stuff,
that has to be two tons.
So that's going to be.
Let's just stop this.
Stop it.
Let's go.
700 draws per again.
I think I look the absolute dogs.
Now I remembered that.
I'm looking at that thinking.
But I seem to remember you being not on the
side of it when we were talking about the i3.
I sell our things.
How much of them do you mean?
Some.
OK.
How much of them do you remember?
I like that.
I'm also interested to see what the price is
on it, because surely, like we talked about
with the Ferrari, they're going to have to go
was an M3.
So it needs to be way more money.
Yeah.
But does it?
What will be the pull of the electric version?
Yeah.
Probably cool.
Has that happened on a big model yet?
I don't think so.
I'm trying to think of another car where
you've said this is the M3.
You can either have the full electric
version, or you can have the one with the engine.
Off the top of my head, I can't think of many other.
There isn't big examples of that.
Isn't the Maserati Gran Turismo,
or that is now only electric?
I don't know what the price increase was of the...
But that will be a good test.
of what do the people want?
What do you really want, guys?
What are you going to buy other than the
people buying the full electric one for the tax sale?
We'd never do that.
I would if I could.
The penultimate thing, before we get to a
little forum question from our man Ben Rogers
over there, is that we've been contacted by
someone very special.
It's someone we never thought,
you know what?
We've been after JK.
We joked.
We've been after Gordon Murray,
but a big of player, a bigger fish has
entered the arena.
Denza, Denza in contact.
Now, it is not related to our mentions on the podcast.
It is kind of a blanket outreach thing,
and it's not strictly Denza.
So, BYD, go in contact and say,
"Yo, we're
going to Goodwood.
Do you want to come to Goodwood?
Let's go to Goodwood together.
Do you want to come to Goodwood?"
And it's not to look at our car,
guys.
We just thought, we just thought you guys
might want to come along.
Maybe our car's there.
But it turns out, I actually didn't know
this, that BYD and Denza are one and the same.
And they said, "I had no idea how to do things."
When I saw the email, I saw BYD and I
thought, "I'm going to skip to the next email."
Then just scanning through, as I said,
if I saw Denza, I thought, surely not.
Surely not.
So, there was a possibility,
it might not happen.
There was a possibility that we get in with Denza.
Now, Daniel Craig by proxy.
Of course, well, we're once done.
left away.
Your sixth reason of operation,
and it goes, us, Denza, Daniel Craig.
But there is a reputation to be upheld here,
particularly from you guys as actual car enthusiasts.
Journalists.
So, we made a decision today,
pitch it to you.
Yeah, it's, it's hop to the creamers.
We will go to Goodwood, very much Goodwood,
you know, a lot of different manufacturers are there.
Publicly, we'll be, we'll be known for going with BYD.
Yeah.
Which is, hey.
And Denza.
Nothing more with that.
We like them.
Good, good save.
Ben, good save.
Ben's decision.
He's already been made.
That wasn't the best pitch.
Better just let us know what you think then.
No, it's up to the creamers.
Is it worth, is it worth selling our soul to
the electric car industry to go for the joke
of going potentially with Denza?
Not a joke.
Also, we've got no other invites on the table.
No, exactly.
Or do we stand, do we stand our ground and do
not go and stand in solidarity with the creamers?
You said, do not go to the, to the festival of speed.
Denza, that's the festival I'm going to.
I think we should go.
I think it's funny.
Now, I saw, there is, I want a Denza wristband.
Yeah, I want a Denza shirt.
Yeah, Denza merch.
I would like Denza merch.
It would be kind of cool.
I want a sticker on my car that says my other
car is a Denza.
Now, randomly, I saw on a little Instagram,
I would give this man his props.
There is a man who is doing,
our friend Evian actually sent us,
he sent us the video of a guy in China
testing out Chinese cars.
And there's a microcar that's convertible.
Yeah.
AI one, I want one.
We need to see if we can get one over here.
But I got served another one of his reels
that was a, it's called a Neo,
which is again, another, it's generic Chinese car.
But they do have, they have a wagon one,
which I'll find a photo of and put it up on the screen.
It's just kind of generic looking wagon thing.
But he's called your chow drives on
Instagram, but he tested a like a stanced one.
on air ride, man.
You know what, if there was a stop,
who go, Will's looking at the car on screen,
which is just looks like a generic.
Can we talk, why is it look like that?
Look at the front wheel, why is it like it's floating?
Yeah.
Going on here.
Is it, or is there a pit of doom in the spare
at the front of the car?
It's a good point.
Now that, I looked at that, it's not very
good on screen.
You can look up his Instagram,
but I looked at that and I thought,
that looks kind of cool.
Imagine a better Chinese wagon.
Imagine a denser stance.
I think I could get involved with that as a
thing to roll around in.
Again, I'm not, I don't want to go,
I don't want to turn to the dark side.
We haven't made our decision yet.
You know, I don't want to turn to the dark
side and start
and pull up on that Chinese EV game,
but A for the joke for the meme that Ben,
my business partner tells me it's not a joke.
But also, I kind of rockin' with the air ride
that out wagon.
It's kind of cool.
Denzer on air, first Denzer on air might be a TDC.
If you don't see us going to Goodwood,
you know that we stood our ground,
but we will take your feedback on what we'll
look very heavily to the Denzer stand at the Goodwood.
I, regardless of if we're there with them or
not, I want to see if we can get some merch.
Even if Ferrari invites us, which they won't.
Denzer might, they're selling competition.
Keep a Ferrari and Denzer are the same now
because they're making the Lucha.
Yeah.
There we go.
That's our Ferrari invite.
And straight out the window.
Gone.
Dead.
You're the same as Denzer.
Okay, Benjamin, you're up.
for the finale of this podcast,
a forum question.
Here we go, folks.
He's just getting it ready.
He appears to be texting someone.
Hi, Ben.
Forum question.
Quite often we will all talk about a certain car.
So I might say you can get into a decent one
and do whatever for X, my money.
One example was a clear 197.
And the boy said you could get on with about
two grand when I've gone to look at them myself.
I'm looking at absolute dogs for three grand.
And this is
1:27:54 Forum Question: Finding Good Cars at Low Prices
even on Facebook marketplace too.
My question is how do you go about finding
good cars for that kind of money?
Well, the best place to look for auctions,
et cetera outside of general place like also
trader that you generally have inflated values.
Good question.
First things first, yes, that's true.
You will see a lot of people say you can get
one for this or that.
The reality is usually that the cars that you
see when you go on also a trader on Facebook
are the ones that aren't priced that well
because they're still there.
The good ones go, if that makes sense.
If you're serious about buying a car,
you can't be fair.
You can't, you can't be just,
I'll just have a look.
You have to be on it.
You need to be checking multiple times a day.
You need to be in the forums.
You need to be in places where a car will
come up that you get to see at first or you
get you get in that early.
If you're two weeks behind on a car,
there's probably a reason why it hasn't sold.
AKA, Ben's S2000.
A lovely gentleman was at home and he opened
his phone and he saw two hours ago S2000 listed.
Bang, it's done.
It's sold.
It's it's off because he there was a good enough deal.
He went and got it.
So that's what you have to be on it and quick with it.
The reason that things like forums work are
because there are people who are they're into
the car well enough that they a have got rid
of most of the problems, but B they value it
correctly and not dreaming.
They're not they're not a trader who's
putting up four grand above the next one next to it.
They want to get rid of it.
They want to get rid of it to an enthusiastic
stick out of the right money.
Also when you're well, more specifically on
the clear, but it applies to everybody.
every other car is that there will be a price
point you can get into them,
but do not expect to buy, as you've already
said, that they were dogs.
They will be dogs.
That will be you get what you pay for for
most of the time.
So as an example, actually, I had it was in a
relatively desirable color.
It still cost me £2,600, very cheap.
But the car needed three or four thousand
pounds worth of work, essentially,
to make it even slightly right.
And then it's still not worth that much.
So you will be looking at, in any car,
if you're looking at right at the bottom of
the price range, you will be looking at
spending more money.
So you can get into them for that money and
people will always say that.
And we've said it before, but sometimes it's
not as worth doing that, which is worth
looking somewhere slightly.
You have like the other end is the cars are
completely overpriced super low miles,
ones you probably don't want to buy.
And then there's normally a nice middle
ground that somewhere in the middle towards
the cheaper end, where you buy the other ones
that tend to move really, really quickly.
Yeah, they will sell.
Those are the ones that we mean when we say
you get a decent one for that.
Yes, you can get a two grand Clio one nine
seven and you'd find that on Facebook
marketplace in the groups on the forums,
but a decent one will cost you three and a
half to four and that decent one.
It's not going to be mint.
It will be a 15 year old car,
but it will be from people who know,
know the game enough to go.
I've done the belts on it.
I've done the radiator support.
I've done the stuff that we know it needs not.
I've taken it to the dealer every day for the past year.
It's 20 grand.
That's not necessarily a decent car.
A decent car is one that the correct things
have been done on.
If that makes sense.
Also, please be aware that as much as a lot
of car people are very nice and respectful,
there is also a very large portion of them
who are kind of choppers and will go,
you could spend £9.60 on your car and they'll
go, you spent £9.60, get one then for £28.
Go on.
Got your pants full down on it.
That's all you come in with.
is rebuild gearbox, the engine,
repaint it by new wheels, new brakes and
fully very trim the interior.
But other than that, it's great.
That's Rory McEydock, PNG.
But there will always be somebody who will
tell you that it's that they get on for cheaper.
It's difficult.
Coming from us, we make YouTube videos.
Exactly.
And you will see all over YouTube,
the stuff that people want to watch is the
cheaper stuff, the rougher stuff that most
people probably wouldn't want to buy realistically.
And actually, aren't the best deals either.
So you look at it and go, how did you get
that for that money?
In the real world, it's very difficult to
find the really good deals.
And actually, you're taking a massive gamble,
buying cars at the lowest.
Look at our RS6, for example.
That car's been a nightmare.
But if anything, we've been lucky.
That car was insanely cheap.
It was absolutely well below the bottom of
the lowest price.
And realistically, we should be looking at a
car that doesn't have an engine that works.
But it runs and it drives in it.
might have an MOT soon, hopefully.
So that's what you're gambling on when you
buy the bottom of the barrel,
a car is
1:32:38 Risks of Buying Bottom-of-the-Barrel Cars
you might not have the budget to buy the
better one, but you need to bear in mind that
if you buy the crap one, you are going to
spend money on it.
You will.
You are, unless it's my offer,
for example.
Some cars you get incredibly lucky with and
they just somehow work at a point.
And the other thing is that we are skewed a
little bit in that we are so a because of
work, but be even outside of work.
We are looking at the prices of all cars
every day all day.
Not, I'm not trying to say we're all knowing,
but we've got a general idea of what a car
should cost, what most cars should cost from
the 90s going up to the mid 2000s.
Like we kind of have an awareness of that.
So, but that even that should be taken with a
pinch of salt.
If we, if someone says to you,
ah, you can get them for this.
You might not be able to, but you do have to
keep an eye out for long enough.
to actually see the values of price,
the prices of cars.
You get it on the flip side with people that
go, those are selling for 200k now.
Yeah.
Okay.
A delivery mileage one than sold at an
auction that was also a charity auction,
200k.
If you go and look on auto trader,
you'll find whatever car is made up X car,
there's five sitting at 150 that haven't sold.
That's not the true price of that car.
Cars that sit do not revet reflect their value.
It's only the cars that sell reflect their value.
So worth keeping in mind, but yeah,
advice just got being more on it.
Keep an eye out for a deal.
And looking multiple, some people will stick
to auto trader.
I have noticed this on some people I've
spoken to where they only trust auto trader
for some reason.
Yeah.
Even though an auto trader is a really good
place to search for cars, it's still the most
popular one, at least in the UK.
But there
are many, many other places you've got
auctions like
collecting cars and whatever else.
I can and owners groups and even going into
actual owners for like forum websites.
Sometimes it's worth doing because it might
be some old boy who doesn't want to deal with
the into normal classifies and goes,
this is my car, whatever.
Sometimes people are just buying cars by word
of mouth by someone they know.
There are so many different places.
So broaden your horizons.
Yeah.
Have a look everywhere.
Do your research as well.
So you don't get your pants pulled down on
prices because it is possible,
especially from dealers and whatever else.
And yeah, and don't listen to YouTube.
Yeah, it was idiots.
All of them.
Some of them are shilling densers these days.
We're incentivized to buy a shit car.
We are.
Yeah, we are.
If we buy a shit car, better content.
Ben, why are you doing it before YouTube then?
Just for the love of the game.
Yeah, you've got to practice.
What do you say, dress for the job you want?
Exactly.
Yeah.
That was a last thing I was saying,
because cars triggered it in my mind is that
some of you would have seen the post on
collect cars Instagram.
that we're going to be doing some videos on there.
Well, didn't expect to confirm it,
but that's all.
And the creamers, although we're out again in
force on that post.
And we haven't said anything about it yet.
Nothing's changing.
None's leaving.
No, no, we're just doing extra videos.
1:35:46 Extra Videos on Collecting Cars Channel
There'll be one extra video for the next few
months on the collecting cars channel doing
sort of tours of people's collections.
We've done some really, really cool ones so far.
We did one with the guy named James who had a
really cool collection.
He keeps his cars literally in his back garden.
He's got a Diablo SV, a Scuderia,
a bunch of other cars that he keeps.
We did one with Nixing Sohoto as well.
And we've got another one coming up as well.
So there will be some extra videos for you,
basically.
The NDC cream all stays exactly the same,
but extra, extra creaming, if you like.
They just asked us, do you like those videos
where you walk around and look at people's collections?
We said, yes, but they just don't tend to do
as well on ours.
They said, well, do you just want to do more?
We said, yeah.
So that's why we're doing it.
So it's extra videos.
In the most recent one, we drove a 355 Spyder
and a V8 swap T30.
Hell, yeah.
So so far, there's been some pretty cool videos.
It's a little bit different to what you might
have seen on TDC and TDC, but that's the point.
So have a look at Cletical's YouTube channel,
give it a subscribe and what such and make a
presence known.
Yes, I'd like to see some cream of
representation in those comments,
please.
They're
a higher echelon than we are.
So maybe let's elevate our comments.
I'd like to see some refined cream.
is the cream.
Exactly.
Something that's, you know, just,
just a little plain joke.
Just something to it.
Yeah, just something.
Don't say I've been creaming all over the place.
I'd like to see, you know, Barry Bredmore here.
I've had
one of those.
They're lovely cars.
Yeah, I love a bit of cream with my cream tea.
Oh, my name is Debbie Bingles.
Have one of those beautiful car.
Debbie Bingles was one of the top comments on
the collecting cars.
And I can't, but I can only imagine that
people looking at that would have gone.
What?
The people are responsible for hiring us a
collector cars going.
And one of the top comments,
Tom, Tom, Tom, Tom comments.
Just being a 911 joke.
That's fine.
And that signifies the end of this podcast.
That's all the time we have today.
Thank you very much for listening to the 87th
episode of the cream podcast.
We'll be back next week.
No more long holidays for Benjamin.
We've banned him from holidays.
So, you know, you'll be getting them booked for us.
off on Monday.
I haven't told you that yet.
Perfect.
Right.
Well, with that, we will see you next week.
Thank you for
listening.
