0:00 Introduction and Ben's Daily Update
I would like to talk about the word "shod" now.
1.
1.
1.
Every scoda doing 60 in the slow line,
I thought that has to be Ben.
There he is.
Surely that's Ben.
We hadn't communicated that much over Christmas.
As far as you guys were aware,
I may have bought one.
I didn't.
I've arrived at the location.
I looked around that we had,
and I went, "That's an S2000."
There were three or four messages sent.
Ben ghosted us over Christmas.
He signed off for Christmas and then said,
"That's it."
No more than I could do that.
And every now and then he'd go,
"Can I buy this car?"
He'd go, "Can I get a car vertical check?"
Well, that link's quite nicely,
actually, because Car Vertical is actually
the sponsor of this podcast,
first podcast sponsor of the year.
Shout out, Car Vertical.
You have a story, don't you,
Ben?
Yeah.
Car Vertical came genuinely very in handy
looking at cars.
So, before that, I will backtrack to why I
haven't got one.
Why is that funny?
That's not why I carry on it.
I just haven't got a car.
I said I buy one and I believed it.
I believed it so strong.
And we had, how long do we have?
Two and a bit weeks.
Two and a bit weeks.
Just we've ever had it, you know.
Yeah, I was like, plenty of time.
And then I realized that Christmas was less
than a week away.
Less than a week away.
So, I had to do Christmas things.
I had to do things.
I had to drive a Sheffield.
North Pole.
Let's go.
It worked there.
Yeah.
I've got Sheffield.
I had to do various family things.
So, I didn't actually get much time in the
first sort of call it actually week to
actually look at cars.
And then I thought, I've got a week and so
I'm back at work.
I've got times by a car and then everything
just went wrong all the time.
And partly it's my fault, I probably didn't.
So, how many cars do you find?
Short list.
I don't know many.
I've spent possibly 30 messages to people.
I started best, but I didn't even want to.
Ben's ultimate, not even a tire kicker.
No.
It's what time most days.
Like, honestly, I've said so many messages.
Just say, just kidding, messages.
Is this available?
Yeah.
It's phone calls, not one.
No, there was, I wasn't being difficult,
but I was looking for something very specific.
And then I got to put more, I was just
panicking, so I was just meshing people about
availability on cars.
I didn't even want that.
But that's the thing, you can be picky you
have a daily striving in the meantime,
right?
Yeah, exactly.
The S2000 was great and it's rusting away,
beneath me, so that's nice.
So you found a facade?
So I went to
4:10 Car Vertical Saves the Day
Sheffield to collect my grandparents,
and I did a big seven hour round trip.
And I took, I haven't got a daily,
and I can't bring my elderly grandparents in less 2000.
You
said you could?
So I borrowed my mum's partner's Tuareg.
And do you know what, I'm so good.
I flew up there, cruise control,
heated seat, having home for Christmas on the way back.
I was just doing rest in peace.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And I thought, you know what,
VW is just nice.
Okay.
VW is car.
So I thought, I'm about a facade.
So I started shortlisted the sats,
and they ended up being two,
one of which was a facade estate,
and the other one was a facade CC,
the Coupe looking one.
What a CC stand for.
Cool Coupe.
That's it.
That's it, exactly it.
That's not what it called, is it?
Of course not.
Okay, right.
Yeah, I could have been fooled there.
Out of two cars, the one I wanted was the facade CC.
Right.
'Cause that's pretty cool.
And I did all my research on it,
it had, it looked like a good car.
And then I just, I messaged,
sorry, I messaged you guys, and I said,
I said, can I have a car vertical?
And at that point, I'd already agreed to go
and see the car that day, but I was like,
I'll get a quick car vertical,
it could be fine.
And it wasn't fine.
Was it, it was at Cas?
It wasn't categorized.
Oh, but it had loads of.
But, you know, they are a sponsor,
but genuinely the benefit of car vertical in
that situation was that it told me,
I don't know if it was an assessment or it
was, it had some sort of damage in 2015 and
that no one else knew about the,
I messaged the person and I said,
listen, I'm not gonna come now 'cause the
car, you know, I wasn't, she's been being
dishonest, but I said, here's a car vertical
check and it had a, you know,
yellow tick for damage.
The thing is with that is obviously it wasn't
actually written off, but car vertical has
access to databases, insurance databases that
will tell you if a car has been assessed with
damage, then you're not really gonna get that
anywhere else.
Every other report will tell you that car's
been written off, but how many cars out there
have been crashed and then repaired for a certain amount.
They've still been crashed.
Yeah.
They just haven't been crashed when they were
either at a point where they were cheap
enough or the crash was bad enough for it to
be written off.
Exactly.
So in the UK, we have, if a car gets written
off, that means the insurance has deemed it
not worth repairing and it will then go up
onto a copart side like what we get them off,
someone repairs it, carries on living with
the car, but it now has that marker that it
was written off.
If a car was new enough or worth enough,
they'll crash it, insurance goes,
all right, yeah, we'll fix it,
we'll put a new door, a bumper or a scraper
or, you know, fix a scraper,
whatever, note then that disappears,
that information is gone, but yeah,
Car Vertical in the last few months,
we've just started introducing assessment
data, which is very cool, we haven't actually
seen that on anyone else before.
Because again, that put you off,
but you might be able to go and look at that
car, take that into account.
And also, if you've seen, this car was
assessed for damage and the front end 10
years ago or whatever it was,
you can then see, that's why the bumper's
laying in a different color or it's had
paintwork or that's why the wheels are
different or something like that.
So it gives you more data so you can then
make a proper offer on the car because you
know the car's history.
And they came back to me with the checks
they've done using other sites similar to Car
Vertical and none of them had any record of anything.
Yeah, nice.
Even they were unaware, but I didn't buy it
because I didn't want to deal with a crash
car, personally.
Well, shout out Car Vertical,
thank you very much for sponsoring.
As always, we run them before buying any car,
Ben did run one before a car and it saved him
from buying one that he didn't want.
So if you want to support the channel,
the next time you are buying a car,
make sure that you use this account code,
cream, C-R-E-A-M in case you can't spell,
and then you'll get 20% off your next check.
And obviously, like Ben has just seen,
it is well worth doing, check the car so you
don't end up with a crash percent or any
percent for that matter.
Shout out Car Vertical, more importantly,
Ben, why didn't you buy the other percent?
That, do you know what?
That wasn't L, that was annoying.
That actually kind of annoyed me.
Hold, because there is a new feature for
Cream and TDC this year, Ben,
we have devised an L list.
Okay, yeah.
And Ben, you already had one on the list,
which was for not having a daily.
Not having a daily.
You have just stated another L.
But was it this year?
Oh, that's true, was it this kind of year?
No, it was technically New Year's Eve.
So, I rescind your L, you're still on one.
Will and I, both on zero.
So, don't worry.
So, after that whole cycle with the percent,
I was like,
8:20 Rule or Ruin: Ben's Dailyless Struggle
I'm not giving up, I'm having a percent.
So, I found a another one, which looked
pretty much as clean.
Local?
And, Sheffield?
It wasn't Sheffield, it wasn't local,
it was somewhere.
Somewhere in between.
Yeah, somewhere.
And, I was like, cool, sounds good,
message the guy.
It had one of those MOT histories that was
colorful, but didn't have anything major.
It was always like, it had lots of visors,
flat tires and brakes quite regularly,
but there was, this time, it tracked car per set.
No, no, but like, I mean, it had quite a long
list each time, but it didn't have,
you know, mad stuff on there anyway.
So, it needed all four tires and brakes all
round, and also, the lights weren't working properly.
So, I said to the guys, I listen,
what's going on with this?
And he said, I fixed it all.
I've got all new tires, and I've got all new brakes.
And now, was he lying, or was he truthful?
I don't know if he was lying,
he was stretching the truth.
So, I got there, and he had said to me,
the rear two tires are brand new,
I'd look at them, and they were brand new.
They were one of the worst brands I've ever
heard of, and the fronts, one of them was,
he said, I put a part one on,
and it was through the wear marker,
so that was...
That's a brand new tire at all.
No.
But he put on, was it worn?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It was an excessively worn tire for you,
sir.
It's cheap.
And then the other front tire was brand new,
it had no, like, full tread,
2015, what's the date on it?
Oh, so it was, you know, new to him.
Back of the warehouse special.
He went, oh, this one will be nice.
This one will smell it, this is a 2015 vintage.
This should really balance out the bold tire
on the other side.
Chinese, okay.
Plastic, lovely.
Put it on the car.
And the brakes had been done,
but it was just, he only did the pads and the
discs had big lips on them, so I was like,
I spent annoying.
And then the thing that, yeah,
the thing that really annoyed me was the,
I said to him specifically, I want the car
cold when I see it, like, cold start.
Yeah.
He messaged me eight minutes before I got
there and said, sorry, mate,
I've just popped the shops in it.
And I said to him, I said, okay,
is it like, you know, is it,
is it, is it up temperature?
Is it just getting there?
And he said, nah, she's getting there.
I got there.
It was ticking from how, like,
from the heat for it.
And I was like, so that's just fully warm,
Greg.
He just given that one of those preemotiable
emissions blasts.
And it's Italian tune up.
He's like, can't let him see it.
I can't start.
So he started out from cold and went,
I can't let him see that.
And to be fair, like, the history was okay.
The car itself, like, it did need breaks,
didn't it?
It would have been probably okay,
but it was either vibe was weird.
I was like, no, I'm not doing this.
So you're still dailyless.
Yep.
And now we decided to take over.
Yeah.
We're taking Ben's money and we're buying him
a daily for a video.
So don't worry, you can all stop commenting
now and going, I think you should get this.
Not that you're in the wrong,
Ben is.
Ben can lay comfortable at night knowing we
will not be buying him a percent.
No, really.
If it has anything to do with us,
we'll want to buy you a watch and it's not by your car.
I would like that.
I would really like that.
Just, but I don't think you would though.
You would like it and then you'd realize
what's happened and you'd go,
actually, this isn't useful for me.
Also, I guess technically it's not,
it's just spending my money on something that...
Exactly.
But it's a surprise for us.
We look good on the internet.
Exactly.
Plus, we can steal some of the money for ourselves.
So, overall, Ben, is it a ruin?
Sorry, it's a ruin.
Long one bit, it's a ruin.
As per.
You just knew it was going to happen.
All the listeners went, "As per."
You know what?
New year, same Ben.
Yeah, I don't change.
There'll be some people out there that are
going, "You know what, Ben might."
He might have done it.
He's going to do it.
And then they'll hear it and go,
"Yeah, I know."
Why should I change?
Absolutely predictable.
Okay, here's one.
You sit down and listen to a podcast and then
I'm on the podcast.
12:00 Edwin's Range Rover Reflections
and I'm just, I go, "Yeah, but daily."
Yeah, done.
And all very interesting.
And everyone goes, "Boring!"
Exactly.
"Boring, bullying."
Turns out Ben is here.
Ben is the entertainer.
He's doing it for the podcast.
He's not playing the daily.
He's like, "That'd be funny."
Hold.
Hold.
I'm just writing
the script each night.
I actually had one daily for months.
William?
I would say rule.
Yeah, I'm going to say rule.
I haven't made a decision.
Yes.
I'm sorry, I've reversed a decision.
mentioned before in the 2DC video,
and also I think on here, that I decided to
sell the Range Rover.
I've had many messages about it.
And I have ignored every single one,
because I don't want to sell it.
I realized that I have to, when I want to
sell a car, I get into a mindset,
and that car is done.
And personally, I've detached from it.
That never happened with the Range Rover.
Part of me was because they're worth a decent
amount of money.
I was thinking, right, the cheapest Westlands
of sale, Westminster for sale is $7,
$8, $9,000.
I think it's like seven is the cheapest one.
I pay four for that car.
And it's been flawless for me.
And it's just, I don't think I can ever set it.
I've come to the conclusion,
which I think I've thought of before anyway,
but I'm now confirmed that the only thing
I'll set it for is another Range Rover.
What does that mean?
I'm going to ask you this.
Like a nicer new one.
Like a lower 405.
I would never sell that for an L32 because
that's my L32, I like that one.
You can get better specs and whatever else,
but that engine, that gearbox,
I would struggle to find one.
Better than that, I think.
It's 160,000 miles now, it's not,
I would rather keep it.
I've bought a fixed load of stuff,
it had the heating was broken,
so I fixed that over Christmas.
I've bought a load of bits to fix the heat
seats, a couple of other bits.
It had a coolant leak.
That's all now fixed.
I have bought some 22 inch project car rules.
Now, I really don't know how to feel about
this, 'cause that car is so,
it's not Queensback, it still has tints and
it's not green, but it's still so nice and clean.
Yeah, but yeah.
Yeah, that's what I thought,
but then I thought, you know what,
if I'm keeping it, I wanna freshen up,
make it yours.
I wanna switch up the vibe a little bit.
Yeah, okay.
If it's gonna be my car for a while now,
let's have a scumbag era.
Yeah, fair.
Let's have, I wanna get the tints,
it's black anyway.
I wanna have some 22s on it.
I want pimp era, but now I'm looking at the
wheels and the garage, like,
I don't know if I should do that.
That's rough.
Roughly?
No, they, well, they need a refurb and they're cracked.
Oh, they're also reps.
I like it, but they are 22s.
I just wanna live in a, I wanna live in a
world, as me, where I have 22s on my car.
It's worth trying, and then this should be very fresh.
But are you going black to that Range Rover?
No, it'd be silver wheels.
Okay, so that's not too bad.
But I have to put it in access mode all the
time, 'cause they're a slightly,
sort of bigger offset, so they will look
nicer when it's sat low.
But I don't wanna lower it, 'cause that's,
I think that's silly on Range Rover.
Yeah, but that's good.
CL, I haven't, it's actually been south side
since Christmas.
And his fate is decided.
His fate is decided.
I, well, I'm gonna modify him,
but I may, maybe give away of some sort in
the next couple of months on that car.
'Cause he also had loads of people trying to
buy that off you, right?
I have had a few people trying to buy that,
but there's a few, there's some wheels I've
bought for that.
There's a few other really, I've now got
CarPlay as well, which is really,
really cool.
So that's got actual nice audio in it.
Modern stuff now, it's really good.
Well, the car, and again, we don't talk about that.
Don't remember, I don't have any of that.
No, there hasn't.
He might buy one this year.
Are you gonna get a game about getting one this year?
Yeah, I might do.
I might get one white wheels.
Yeah, I like that.
I'm gonna say you need to check the brakes on those.
I've had a low bad story as well.
It's rare.
Rare.
Rare.
No, no, it's rare.
It's rare to see it.
Hopefully, I'm hoping this month,
if not this month, I think I'm gonna write
the car off.
Like, isn't that's it?
Well, in both ways.
No, I just never owned it.
Okay, yeah, it's gone.
And then it'll turn up on me and you go,
"Wow, I've got my cream again for free."
And Glado needs its heating fixed.
And the Ranger.
Now, there was a Ranger I was gonna say.
There is a predicament, actually.
Well, this is now related
16:03 Car News and Design Controversies
to a Range Rover.
I've decided to keep the Range Rover,
which to actually my girlfriend is over the
moon with that, because you have that car and
my family as well, for some reason.
But we've had this Range Raptor,
which I swapped with you a week,
10 days ago, so I just really like it.
It's good.
I feel at home in it.
Yeah.
But I drove the Range Rover once,
one day, and I thought, "Am I gonna get in
the Range Rover and hate it after being in the Raptor?"
And I didn't see it.
It still does, it still does it.
So, yeah, we'll see.
So overall, you're a real ruin.
I can't speak.
I would say rule.
Okay.
I am also a rule, ooh.
Despite the fact that I still do not own a
Range Rover classic, I spent the entire of
the Christmas break researching them,
setting reminders, setting alerts on sites
you've never heard of that don't really
necessarily sell cars, but maybe they will,
just hoping that one comes up.
So I don't have that.
I did have the Ranger before Christmas,
which was very good and very slidey.
And then just after Christmas,
we shopped to the Mustang.
I've been having a lot of fun.
It's quite weird.
There's mysterious black marks keep appearing
all over the roads around here.
Like crop circles.
It must be American air 51 or something.
Yeah, it must be a veteran's well and president nearby.
And then at the same time, there's no,
I'm on the wear marker.
So I don't know how it's happened.
But that car is fantastic.
And it made me do something.
It made me go and get my MX-5 app storage.
Is that what forced the issue?
It was sustained traction loss that made me
go, I should call her.
Here we go.
I need to go and get the MX-5 app because I
love that car.
And
that's what it spends.
That's what it's spent all of its life with me doing.
Does it?
Yeah.
Because you don't know
that.
No, we've had this thing in the name of five years now.
And every time I kick it and told MX-5 is amazing.
You've got to experience it.
And every time it almost happens,
it doesn't.
So just today, you were standing outside and
you did a slide?
And I did a small little slide just going
into the pit and I just built a dose pipe for
it, a small one.
And the noise, did you feel it?
There was a little bit of a struggle.
I've known many people, I've been out in it,
obviously, in many times.
Now you said five years.
That's crazy to me.
It's six years, I think it hasn't driven.
It's five or six years.
But I said to Ben, we were behind the Ranger
today, putting cameras on.
I said, have you been out in the MX-5?
Surely in that time, friend,
you've been out in it once.
He said, no, I've never been.
It is right of passage.
If you're working in and around these parts,
someone, you need to have shit your pants in
that MX-5 at this point.
Yeah, scared a lot of people in that car.
Literally from the first day I met Edwin,
because I came to your house and you show,
and you talk about the car, you've been
saying how good it is doing a skid.
And Rory came in, I put it off on my left to
do, 'cause I swapped some tires on it the
other day, and Rory came in and he went,
is it coming back?
It was like a weird myth.
He was like, it's back.
It's Voldemort's hair.
I thought he was dead.
So what's when he was dead?
Big weeks, that should be up,
there'll be a video on the second channel,
getting that car up and going,
and then what else has happened?
My camshafts shout out to Peter.
Peter is the man who let us drive his E60 M5
when we're in Monterey, a place we've never been.
And he very kindly found for me a set of M3
cams for an American E36, and sent them out to me.
I paid for them, obviously.
Cheers, Peter.
No, I'm both afraid.
Peter wouldn't be going to pay me right.
And so they have arrived, and they're over
there, and I'm very excited.
Because it now means I can start building the
white E36 engine.
I am a little bit worried, because the
Mustang and the Raptor are going away on Friday.
I will have to go back to driving the E36.
What?
The C55?
No, that needs to go away.
That car is probably for sale when you hear this.
That car will probably be for sale.
I want it gone.
Something will need to happen.
I have found something.
I'm not going to talk about it,
because I'm going to go look at it this Sunday.
It's the little green beebles.
Of course.
And I should.
Ben as well.
A return to form for all three of us.
If that makes sense.
Wouldn't it be nice, though,
if you just joined me in No Daily Town?
No.
Just be like together in that.
No, I prefer not.
Share that.
No, George, great.
I have two dailies.
Yeah, this is crazy.
He's got more dailies than we have combined.
Three currently, if you can count the Ranger.
We could share them.
Can we share?
No.
All right.
Ben, you take the Mark home.
Oh, surely can Ben, Ben could take the Mark home,
right?
Yeah, you could take the Mark home.
Cut some miles on it.
I want to take the Mark home.
I don't want to mess up your car.
A very long rule of ruin because we have not
seen you in many weeks.
It's only been a week.
I mean, we've missed you, actually.
I have actually missed the creamers.
It's supposed to be nice to build up some bullshit.
Shall we get onto some notes of neck?
Now, we'll start off, Edwin,
you've put in here.
I don't know what it means.
Gangster.
Fabulous.
We talked before early days of cream about Car lyrics.
Someone came up with a name for it.
I can't remember it.
Click lyrics.
It was something.
That was something interesting.
And I was listening to Fabulous and his song
Gangster, which I think is from Midnight Club 3.
It's in one of the games.
And in there, he says, let me just find it now.
They love me, just because I'm in the
Gallardo laughing like Ricky Ricciardo.
But he says, pronounce his Gallardo as we do.
He says Gallardo.
He says Gallardo.
I felt the pressure recently.
And I just wanted to take a note of one more
person, an important person,
someone who knows cars.
He's got a Gallardo, he knows more than
anyone commenting.
Bounty of Elbowne.
Acom.
Acom.
A fabulous, fabulous.
All friends, they go out together.
So that's three, I will, there's six people roughly now.
We've got, well, I don't know about Ben,
Ben isn't.
Ben, what are you?
Gallardo?
I was always Gallardo.
Until I met you guys and now I,
Gallardo, but also, I know nothing.
I know, over Christmas, I thought about it a lot.
Okay.
I just, I felt pressure.
I thought, I might, I might just go back.
Wow, you're going to Gallardo.
I might just go back, but I'm not yet.
a big event would have to happen.
Like something, someone would have to really offend me.
You know, Ed Boleyan would have to,
to be there in person and, and tell you offer it.
Yeah.
To go, all right.
Yeah, you've made your point,
but I don't, I'll burn you by my side.
Exactly.
Don't we all, so if that's a value mate,
sort of soil now.
In your scenario, I actually think that,
that you're better off staying as you are.
Because if, if, for me, it's just,
it's, it's, it's, it's, it's,
it's.
I was trying to pronounce a car.
Yeah.
And then the owner of the car was like,
no, it's this, I'm like, are you fair?
You must know your own one.
Yeah, but it's just, it's difficult scenario to be.
And
we've, we've admitted that it's not technically correct.
It's not, I'm not Spanish.
But it's what we were all saying.
It's what it was.
Yeah, he can't say it, Balboni said it,
and he's got one named after him.
So suck yourselves.
Okay.
What have we got next?
Next, Ben, a bit of news.
First, news, not the first news of the New
Year at all.
But first news of sort of the New Year.
Gordon Wagoner has stepped down.
He's gone.
Mercedes.
And who is he?
Gordon Wagoner was.
Okay, sure.
The design, chief design, lead,
head of design for Mercedes.
A lot of titles.
I don't know which one it is.
Isn't that sort of thing for Mercedes for the
last, I don't know, long time.
Well, that's what I would like to know.
I'm going to find out.
What's your calls are we talking about?
Everything up until December,
is it going to find out?
This is old news now.
Okay, great.
I saved this on the 17th of December.
28 years with the company.
28 years.
He has been the brand's global designer since 2008.
That's not 28 years.
No, but he's been with the company.
Some of his early work includes the SLM
McLaren, the R-class, the MLGL,
and all of Mercedes
passenger vehicles of the early C-down.
He did the R-class.
Also the ML.
That's the RML.
Yeah, you know what?
The SLR, which came out, was quite controversial.
And then the R-class, which was very designed
and controversial.
Not a great way to say that.
style.
Here's controversial.
Oh, just things he said or?
No, because of what came later.
He then also did some of the standout ones
we've got here.
We've got the CLS, the W222S class,
the APGT, SLS, and then the newer G-Wagon.
He did the SLS.
Yeah.
Nice.
Okay.
He went for car.
Long bonnet.
Long bonnet.
You don't stretch that guy out.
But he did do the R-class.
And what he did, which is the downfall,
the EQ line.
All of that.
You designed the stuff from Mercedes up until now.
You know what?
Great career.
Congratulations.
Off you pop on home.
You've had your time.
Yeah.
You've done it.
I'm assuming he's getting on a bit,
maybe.
He doesn't look that old.
Well, he looks like he's in his 40s or 50s.
Okay.
28 years.
Okay.
Not that old, but you know, he's just getting the bit.
He comes out of a design and they go,
okay.
All right.
Yeah.
What if we made a Werther's dish on it?
I designed the SLR.
Yeah, we know.
We know that.
He's got a 7.
Okay.
It's not
25:03 Mercedes Design Chief Departure and Car Nerdery
that hard.
All right.
You can't even retire.
You probably could.
He might be.
Yeah.
He's doing all right.
Okay.
So we may see some new interesting designs from us.
I think they just could be fair in the last,
I guess maybe the last seven years.
Yeah.
The EQ stuff is being really not great.
Now, speaking of car design,
this isn't on the list, but I've just remembered it.
And I would like to speak about it while it's
in the mind.
A man has messaged me on Instagram.
And actually I've got two things from him.
Instagram account called hexgraphica.
It's measured me a few times about stuff.
But something interesting.
This is proper nerd crap.
Here we go.
So McLaren Mercedes was a thing.
Yes.
Mercedes had a stake in McLaren,
hence the SLR McLaren.
Yeah.
And at some point around about '05,
they were thinking about increasing that stake.
Because they were like, you know what?
This is actually quite nice.
Nice building as well.
Mm-hmm.
Because we were talking about the MP4 and why
the design is a little bit, a little bit flat.
And then they kind of changed it a bit,
like the front end changed a bit.
Yeah, then they changed it a lot afterwards.
There was a concept of, I think they said it
was called either the P8 or P9,
the P10 or something that became the SLS.
And it would have been a Mercedes.
This was a Mercedes like McLaren thing.
Yeah.
And that, I'll show you and we'll get it on the screen.
Is that not?
That is an MP4.
That's just an MP4-12C.
Let me, like six, there we go,
six, seven years before.
That's a great one.
The MP4 actually came out.
Now it would have been a Mercedes,
'cause I've just got, here's a photo of it on screen.
Wow.
Now, this is from, I've got a photo on,
this is from April 2009.
More details of the McLaren F2 C-Pout.
Very few cars evoke this kind of passionate
reaction that the McLaren F1 does.
They are now working on a successor to the legendary F1.
So that is when they were still calling it McLaren.
I think it would have been a joint thing again.
Yeah.
But still, that is just an MP4 also,
just with SLR mirrors.
Yeah, the actual SLR mirror.
I hate that, that's weird.
But that was, this, this, this,
uh, hex-grass with a chap, watched our video.
Those are just like e-class wheels.
Yeah.
Those are just old.
Yeah.
But if anything, that's actually slightly
more interesting design than what came out,
but still.
But basically, I think that,
that might have been why that design is a
little bit like the BMW Mini thing,
where they sort of went, oh,
well, well, we've already got it.
Well, we've all got it.
We'll have a go.
Yeah, we'll already finish it.
But even like the back end, it's all just the
same as an MP4.
And then, yeah, they kind of changed the
design up after that.
I thought that was quite cool.
Good nerdy stuff.
Any nerd stuff you find, send it.
Although we will have seen it usually.
So don't be upset if we don't reply.
And that one I was impressed by,
because I was like, I don't know that.
And it's actually tough to accept that I
didn't know that, but I like that I've
learned it.
What else we got next?
We got next.
Oh, I can't
say one, two, three, four of the words in there.
Could you,
can you, can you, can you bleep it yourself?
It says,
I was upset when I said that.
Okay, now what is it?
I discovered over, you know what,
a very quick preamble on this.
I run, I live somewhere near the Bristol Ules
zone, not in it, or actually that close to it
to be fair, but I do occasionally go through it.
So I don't need a car that is Ules,
but it's nice to have one if I want to go to
the center of the city.
Up until now, I've had the clear and next five.
The clear was always Ules, X5,
not Ules.
Right?
So on the rare occasion I bring the X5 in,
I'll just pay the Ules, that's fine.
I try and have that second car,
to be a Ules car.
In comes S2000, which I believed was Ules.
And you check that.
I, and this is such a bad thing.
I swear it was.
I swear it was.
They changed it.
They re-homologated it over Christmas.
Ben's bought an S2000 off the list.
I sort of assumed to be fair,
and then I thought I checked it,
and I could have sworn a no.
So I've just been going in there.
Okay.
So I'm not that regularly, but somewhat.
So I've had to quite a few letters come through.
You got multiple vines.
Yeah.
Nice.
How many?
Let's be honest.
How many?
How many finds would we have?
A legend finds.
Oh, yeah.
I've obviously contested them.
You've said that was my car.
You've contested them.
How have you contested them?
No.
Are you going to?
I can't speak on them.
Are you going to say you're on a ride,
didn't know?
No, that's not it.
You're on a, it's a petrol car.
What the hell?
Ben's going to go, you're on a,
I don't have a daily.
I just think I have nothing else.
I've actually found out that way.
So I have, I have a, they haven't all come free.
I don't think so.
Oh, that's rough.
But yeah, there is, there is,
I didn't know that.
And I was quite upset when you were.
So you were happy with the U.S.
and that's why you put that message in.
Yeah.
I mean, there's not a lot of scale words.
Yeah, it's a great, great scheme.
It's a sense.
Yeah, yeah.
Of course, sort of.
Yeah.
Lovely.
So yeah, basically S2000 is not U.S.
and I also believe this, right?
I don't know this.
This is completely fabrication.
Surely it would be U.S.
if they actually retest it.
Because it's, it's Euro three and it's meant
to be, if you're a four, a petrol.
If it means to the standard,
best stuff promulgated to, well,
you can get, you can get stuff retested.
People do it with BMWs.
Because it's like the, the late 2.8 is U.S.
but the early one isn't.
So you can basically get and say,
this is the same engine and get them done.
Because essentially, because it's a 1990
something engine, whatever, whether it was in
it, or the original 1999 or something,
they made them up until 2008 and they're,
they're this engine and I don't think those
ones are U.S.
either, but I just don't think Honda ever retested it.
If you can get it changed, like in that sort
30 day period or whatever, you're fine.
And then they say, right, you really need to
pay this fine.
And you go, hold on, you got this wrong.
So the time that the pressure is on.
So how much is a Bristol only in the U.S.?
Do you pay in pounds or is it like shilling or something?
In the hay bales.
Nine pounds.
Nine pounds a day.
That's crazy.
I believe it's the.
Better than London, I guess.
What is the second strictest?
Yeah, Bristol was like a hovelp in the size comparison.
I could talk for hours about how much I had.
I hate the Brazilian leather zone.
It's complete scam.
But fine.
Anyway, I have fines.
So tough.
We'll see how those progress.
Yeah, so when we come on those donations in
the comments, it's like, please,
guys, I've got so many fines to pay.
I can't even buy dailies.
It was a tough one.
It was a diesel cassette, you know?
No, surely not.
No, basically, anything.
Does Matt, we're taking care of it.
For those who don't know, in the UK,
we have Euro emissions, I don't know what it means.
Basically, for petrol Euro 4,
which is two, it's basically,
there are some earlier cars that have the engine.
M3 is?
The engine is, what is it?
Is it allowed?
Yeah, I'm all good.
I'm all good at 4.
But is then anything after 2005 or 4?
Has to be that.
So basically, if you buy 2004 car,
you know it will be.
But diesel, because he diesels 2016.
2016, yeah.
So it's tough.
It's the most valuable Range Rover on Earth.
What we've got next?
Now, next one, I might have got his letters mixed up.
Well, the second one.
E-38 MLRS.
We are about to talk about the war in Ukraine.
It's called on the green podcast,
but this caught my eye because I believe it
is Ukrainians, not Russians unless the
Russians are running out of money.
Quick time.
MLRS can't remember what it stands for.
I want to say Ferrari's rocket.
Yes, I think it is a, hold on,
I'm going to tell you right now,
it is a multiple launch rocket system.
And what they are essentially doing,
if you can't see on the screen,
they are using an E38 7 series to fire rockets from.
Which might be, it's a movie car.
Oh, absolutely car.
That's death race.
That is insane.
I didn't actually look into what it is.
It's a short wheelbase.
It's short.
I think it is a facelift on some horrible
aftermarket wheels, if we're being honest.
But I think that's at least of its problems.
Yeah.
And then I think it has some full of stand
that comes out of the boot.
Otherwise, it would probably just do a wheelie.
Yeah.
And the rocket would go the wrong way.
But I like that that's probably the only
rocket, you know, propelling system that when
you get in it, it goes bong three degrees
outside, penalty less fine by the way.
It goes, it just plays, what music was in,
you had all sorts of music in your E38.
African music, lots of music.
Some sort of like Spanish, Mexican music,
there was all sorts.
It's just getting the rocket launcher and
it's just playing reggae.
Little Bluetooth module in the boot.
Do it like, although the boot does look occupied.
He doesn't have much space at the moment.
But there's lots of stories of cars being
used in, usually BMWs, which is amazing.
Also, can you imagine if they just found that
E38 and that was your old E38 car?
Yeah, why can't we use the rocket launcher today?
PCV valve's gone.
Smoking.
Can't get it out.
Honestly, can we get a toe, please?
But I thought that was quite cool.
I got a recall on the rocket launcher,
unfortunately.
A Ukraine war update from Cream there.
Next up, Edwin, you've put in here,
Shod.
I would like to talk about the word Shod.
Now, Ben, do you know what that means?
No.
Have you ever heard it before?
I've heard it.
I don't know what it means.
Where have you heard it?
It's coming out of the mouth.
Okay.
34:00 The Annoying Word 'Shod'
I don't know.
You don't know.
So you always see it on classic car adverts
or car adverts in general.
Usually ones that are trying to be up their
own anus because it is used in terms of tires.
You'd say these 19-inch reels are Shod in Perelli tires.
And it annoys me so much because every single
advert uses them to try and sound posh.
But it's just such an annoying word.
It is annoying, yeah.
Just say that!
It got Michelin's with three-minute war in Ben's case.
Ditch Finders with no trend.
But this is the reason.
No one's saying that.
No one's saying that.
Shod in Pot wants to.
Shod in Capatos.
Why do I catch a stray?
I'll
just use a new example.
But I have good tires.
No, not you.
You looked at your donut.
That was tough.
I'm saying is there's no one's using these
fancy words for crud.
No, that was basically not shod in the pot.
But that's the thing.
I can't remember.
I should have put the list again,
but this is what made me put it in here.
is that there was a car for sale that had...
They were like 17 year old tires.
This car was a bit of a barn find.
And quite clearly, you could see cracking
around the hole.
You know, they have the close up photo of the
wheel with the tires, cracking the whole way
around the tires.
And it said, shod in period correct pirelli tires.
What are you talking about?
That's the first thing I'll have to change.
I don't care.
It's such an annoying word to me.
But the reason I wanted to bring it up is to
ask what other car specific words you don't
say that for anything else.
No.
You don't say this plate is shod in baggers and mash.
This model is shod in Gucci shoes.
Yeah.
Also, I just, I wanted to Google.
What does shod mean?
Yeah.
Like shod means now this is good.
This is the first thing on Google.
So is this not AI.
Okay.
But it is Google.
They are saying it is the part,
the past tense for shoe is shod.
And it is the meaning of is to fit a horse
with a shoe or shoes.
So you're going to show a horse,
I guess.
So you've shod the shoe, you shot the horse.
So you can get those ones in there.
Oh, sorry.
You said shot the horse.
You shot my horse.
That's going to go crazy.
Also, or to protect brackets,
the end of an object, such as a pole with a metal shoe.
So when Lucas says, I just bought me on me
and all my wicks and brand new shoes.
He was talking in Car and Classic's week.
He was, I've shod my cars in brand new tags.
In Parelli and time specific.
Parelli's 2000s.
In that, meaning it doesn't,
it was.
But what other words are there that only
cars, maybe we'll revisit them,
we'll look through comments.
But there are so many just car specific words
that mean nothing, and they're just annoying.
They're just there to spice up an ad.
Yeah.
I would actually get more, I'm going to look
into it more if you start using that language
in an advert.
Because I'm like, what are you trying to hide?
You're hiding something.
If you're shod in, shod in tires.
Shod in tires.
Not to fly out the bottom of the car.
Fast 8 splash cream is your next thing.
Now, this is something I noticed.
I've been forcing my girlfriend to watch Fast
and Fierce because of a recent purchase of us.
Who knows?
One, two and three, they've been watched.
But obviously on the splash green,
once you are of Netflix and whatever
streaming services, other ones are available,
you will get served the other movie saying,
you should watch this one next.
And I've always, since the day this movie was
announced, been annoyed by something.
I've
just put it on the screen right now.
It's the challenger that has the CUDA-style
graphic down it from Fast 8.
So that as a car that does exist,
we've seen it.
It's in the movie, it looks normal and works.
But in
the promotional poster, it has like a 13-inch
wheel on it
that's bending to the side.
Ever meet the fender on it, or
you call it the rear arch, is like melting.
The whole rear
of the car's melting.
Chevy, and then there's another one on the distance.
The Mustang's about to go straight into that show.
They're going straight into it.
And the Mustang's got this weird kit on it,
which I don't remember from the film.
But it could be.
The Dodgers are about to turn right anyway.
The Dodgers are going right.
The Dodgers are going right anyway.
It's also melting, which is the biggest issue
I think he has.
But I've seen this poster so many times,
if you're an audio-lister, go and search up
Fast 8 poster, you'll see it pretty quickly.
But how did that get passed?
How did someone allow that through?
There's a melting car that someone got paid a
lot of money for that.
A professional, he just finished up the last
bit and went, "That's great."
Also, like, all right, fine.
If it's a YouTube thumbnail,
for example, a couple of little bits here,
there you can leave.
Ben's like, "Don't look too far into us."
That sort of thing is fine, because it's just
meant to catch your eye.
But that is going probably on a billboard or
a bus stop.
I remember seeing that up close.
I remember seeing that at a movie theater in
our huge big poster and going,
"What is that?"
I've not, I've seen that like,
outline of that poster.
I've never looked deeply into it.
I've honestly been thinking about it for years.
I thought, "Now I must be the whistleblower."
There must be the designer of that,
if you're out there.
Step up.
He's not telling us what happened.
That's a Friday afternoon job.
That was like, the movie comes out Monday.
What?
Have you got a poster?
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And he went on the chat GPT before it existed.
And he said, "Make me a melting torch charger."
And make it crash into a bellaire or something.
But it's the fact that he's the car for the movie.
It must be from a screenshot that's been
warped and moved and they've tried their best.
But hey, yeah, not great.
Speaking of Fast and Furious,
I'm staying on the topic.
Chris John Ronaldo will be in Fast and Furious.
Yeah, now there is an actual photo.
There is an actual photo of this.
But I thought this one was funnier.
Because if you can't see, it's the screenshot
from the first Fast and Furious where Dom and
Paul Walker are, along so 355,
and he says, "Smoke him."
So they're looking at Ronaldo.
Yes, yeah, they are looking at Ronaldo.
So apparently, I thought I had that Ben's shut up.
I thought this was a fake, but there is a
post from Vin Diesel with Ronaldo,
though, that says he wanted to be in it.
So they've written him a role of some sort.
I saw-- He's going to be Paul
Walker, but with his face off.
Oh, no.
He's back, isn't it?
He's back.
But, you know, this is a slight different body.
One last time for family.
But I've seen, I could swear,
when I wrote this down, I've seen a shot.
And it's him, like, standing on a car.
Like, all stuff attached to him doing a stunt,
basically.
So, yeah, that's going to be interesting that
Cristiano Ronaldo is-- It's also funny,
because they were like, right,
fast, this is the last, fast and furious thing.
Make it big.
We're going back to our roots.
Yeah.
We're going to do street racing.
Man, like Brian, the corner is back.
He's back.
He's so back.
We're doing street racing.
We're going back to our roots.
And me and Cristiano Ronaldo will be there.
He needs to be in it.
He is going to be there, though.
If he's not Rose Clothes Pizza Boy,
or he's-- was it Michelle Rodriguez?
If he can be her.
Okay, yeah.
Yeah.
Then I'll farm it out.
He's the guy in the RX-7.
He's their name.
I didn't remember his name.
Orange Julius, in Too Fast If Yours?
Yeah, that's him.
No, Orange Julius is the super,
sorry.
Yeah.
And he says, "Who?"
Yeah.
That's the answer.
When he jumps through the air in Too Fast If
Yours over there, what he goes--
Paul, who goes, "What's with that one?"
He goes, "Too."
Yeah, just with the-- I'm just a ridiculous franchise.
Still really not really confused.
Does that make you want to say it more?
Nope.
No, okay.
Not so-- Excuse me, is that I--
the only first choice I have seen is--
9, 10, the most recent one.
Oh, yeah.
And-- Well, that's the next part.
But that ended on a proper cliffhanger.
The story was really quite established.
To be like, "We're going back to street
racing when--" Spoiler alert.
He ends even driving down a dam or on the
edge of a dam or something.
I like the idea that they're like,
"That was half work."
Bit of street racing.
It's like, it is an actual cliffhanger.
On a cliff.
I think maybe he gets to the bottom of my car.
I don't want to really watch him.
Did he get to the bottom of it?
You want to see a different movie?
No, it's not Ben, then a bit of news from you here.
It's about Honda and the fact that Honda are
making OEM parts again.
There's a link in our chat for that because I
thought you'd be able to read it and understand it.
I can give you the headline.
From the headline, I would take a hazard to
guess that they're already building OEM parts.
They usually build them for their cars.
Yes, but they're making them for cars that
they're longer building.
So there's our heritage parts.
A little bit like some manufacturers,
BMW will stop making parts.
Some do.
Audi are quite bad for that.
BMW are very, very good for it.
Mercedes are relatively good for it.
Land Rover are actually incredibly good at doing...
Yo, you've got a 97-year-old car.
Cool, we've got that part in the shelf.
No worries.
It's broken a thousand times.
And they also go, also, we have an updated it.
We still sell that car for a new,
so...
Oh, the part that breaks.
It's still a break.
We've got 27 of them.
New and improved one.
Breaks more.
But new parts.
So as far as I'm aware, it is new parts.
Oh, okay.
So I think S2000 is one of them that they're doing.
That's what I was going to ask.
I think it does.
I read the rumor that it could be a hard top.
They're bringing it back, which would be good.
Because for those who don't know,
S2000 hard tops are thousands of pounds.
Here's the issue.
They're going to be more still.
No, but this is the thing.
Oh, the reason.
So the S2000 hard top, because not very many
were made and they don't make any more and no
one makes a replacement one really.
They're very expensive because of the old
supply and demand.
But if we're now giving option for three
granders, it is to go and buy a brand.
a new one, then the price of the second hand
one comes down.
It does, but they will still be expensive.
I think three granders.
Yeah.
Well, I think that's an example.
I think, well, from what I've read,
Honda basically, like, we need to have some
support for these older models.
Stuff like S2000 up in value and is.
Honda, if we could get some beat parts going.
They're looking for me.
Thanks.
They're looking at the used parts market.
We need to get in on this.
400 quid.
I started selling them on a Facebook marketplace.
It's to offer support.
for the option for people to keep them going,
because they are well-regarded cars.
But it's also, the benefits like me is that,
obviously, those sort of bad parts anyway,
second-hand parts will become cheaper.
But there it is.
It's the S2000 and something else.
I haven't read that.
But I skipped on that.
Yeah, there's lots of videos of the NSA.
I'm assuming it will be the more value.
Like everyone wants all my civics going to
get and the new diesel part,
probably not.
They're going to be looking at the stuff
that's going to be like, people are going to
be spending money.
Restoring.
Yeah.
So Honda beat.
Yeah.
Probably not.
Probably not.
It's probably not a bad show.
I went on the website which was Japanese and
I've got Google to translate it.
Okay.
The Honda Heritage Works website had launched.
The news release has also been released.
Okay.
The heart pounding beat of the engine.
The sense of unity as you cut through the
wind at will.
The word beat was used.
There we go.
Confirmed.
The joy of driving that is irreplaceable.
We thoroughly pursue the driving feel that
Honda created at the time.
Okay.
It's not just about making something new.
It's about reviving the soul stirring sensation.
That's where the unique value lies.
That's why Honda will do it.
Okay.
It feels a little bit like a speech,
which I don't.
I'm on the same site in English.
Essentially, it's Honda Heritage Works,
which there'll be two arms of it.
That's where I am.
The English site just says we're making
parts, Mike, Honda, Swindon.
But this is actually not translated at all.
It's not translated at all.
It's not translated.
Oh, is it not?
This is just English.
What does yours say to them,
Ben?
Well, we sort of got the gist from Will,
but I was going to say that--
I was going to say that he--
Ben interrupted and said, I've got it here.
Does it say anything different?
Nah.
No, but the details of it is that it's Honda
Heritage Works, and they'll have two arms of it.
It's Honda Heritage Parts, Honda Heritage Restoration.
So they're doing the Mazda thing where you
can bring them an MX-5?
Yes.
So it's first-generation NSX and S2000 Star,
and then more parts.
Oh, here we go.
Right.
46:24 Honda Heritage Works and Parts Availability
Interesting.
More details are going to be released this month.
They also-- there's a sort of mysterious
photo here of an NSX.
and some Japanese writing, there's an arrow,
and it points to a sort of silhouette of an
NSX with a question mark on it,
but like a game.
So you've done that.
So yeah.
Kind of mysterious.
A little cliffhanger from Fast and Furious.
They took what Ben and retention.
They're going, don't tell them yet.
Keep them there.
Don't tell them yet.
The cream and podcast will get that three
weeks late in another six weeks.
Right.
My hands are very cold.
It's just going to back out of this.
What we got next here, we've got--
Oh, BMW Bolt.
I put this in Christmas Eve.
No less.
But BMW, I wasn't sure if this was real and
I'm still not sure if it's real.
I'm not sure if I've seen anything official.
But there is apparently a BMW pattern where
they've said, we've made our own Bolt and the
intention for that Bolt is that they're like,
right, none of you are going to be servicing
your cars anymore.
The bosses of BMW have been on Instagram.
They've seen people opening coolant bottles on E36.
Yeah.
We've got to solve this.
They've seen people putting different engines in E46s.
They've seen N54 jokes and went no more.
No, we don't like this.
No more.
We'll be us working on it.
Because we're going to put these bolts in it.
Yeah.
And then you tell me something quite fine.
And then I saw that the next day a guy had
released on a 3D printing site a printable
file to have a bit that converts to a normal something.
They can't come out and be like,
oh, yeah, this is impossible to get yourself
when it is quite literally just two triangles
that go to a Bolt.
What it is is they've made the BMW logo,
the roundel as the Bolt head.
And within the, if you have the circle,
there is four blocks.
Two of them are divots in which you put something in.
So rounding that out is a tough one.
Just destroy the BMW logo.
You can't have that anymore.
Yeah, you just got one out of your ring.
There is no one.
How do you look in that going?
Well, we can't make that.
Hold on.
Mercedes, though.
Yeah.
So that makes their own screwdriver sort of
like a maserati, sort of like a Phillips type thing.
Hold on.
Alfa Romeo, very complicated.
We can't do this.
Yeah.
What do they expect though?
Because there is no world where they make a
Bolt that someone isn't going to reverse
engineer and make their own bit for it.
You could make it like a locking wheel nut type.
I think, and they're still going to--
Did other bolts start like that?
Yeah.
Like the Phillips head and the 10 mil,
everyone, I've made a bolt.
I've made a bolt.
It's 10 mil, no one makes that talk.
None of you have got that.
And next day, someone went, here is the 10
mil socket, ladies and gentlemen.
And they went, and they went,
and they went, and they went,
and they went, and they went,
and they went, and they went,
and they went, and they went,
and they went, and they went,
and they went, and they went,
and they went, and they went,
and they went, and they went,
and they went, and they went,
and they went, and they went,
and they went, and they went,
and they went, and they went,
and they went, and they went,
and they went, and they went,
and they went, and they went,
and they went, and they went,
The
other way to do that, is a big thing in
America, I
believe, in the agricultural industry,
because they're not
legally, they're trying to make it not legal
to work on your own farm equipment.
But there are at least still options that you
can go to
other ones, whereas this way,
you go into the end of your day only.
How long before that's on AliExpress?
No,
I also say it's quite cool looking.
No, but look at new M3s and things.
They get modified more
than they've probably ever been.
Some of the things like locking wheel nuts
where they'll be aftermarket ones.
Yeah, be aftermarket ones and you have to
buy the very specific screwdriver or socket
or whatever it
is to undo that.
You go to work on a car like a used car you've bought.
You go to take the exhaust off.
He's in the
glove compartment.
He's bought those things from Demon Twigs,
hasn't he?
God's sake.
It's got custom ones.
You have your
own face on them and it's got only unlock.
You got a Benkey?
No.
That's a previous owner up there.
Put it in here, King's address,
King's speech, Christmas day.
That was on Christmas day.
In the UK, we have the
51:37 King's Speech on Motoring Issues
Queen's speech or the King's speech,
no longer the Queen's speech,
where they address the nation.
I believe, I put this in before,
I believe that it was poorly received or
something this year, but I don't care about that.
That's
not what I'm here for.
What I'm here for is imagine this on
Christmas day.
Merry Christmas.
You can address the nation in a one minute
speech, but you, may say, I'd like you,
what are you going to tell them motoring related?
It has to be motoring related.
You've got a minute and the entire country is listening.
They've all tuned in.
Oh, a minute.
You've got a minute.
Everyone's sitting around their Christmas
tree, or they're sitting around it.
They're watching the TV.
They would be a cream plug, because I mean,
the numbers cold.
Okay.
So I'm perhaps setting a timer right now.
Go.
You've got one minute.
Speak to the nation.
Ladies and gents, tune into the cream
podcast, please, every single week,
every Thursday, sometimes a little bit later than you.
usual.
Also, if you could all stop parking poorly,
that would be fantastic.
And more importantly than any of that,
and I am the king after all.
No, am I the king?
Yeah.
I am the king.
And you've set that on camera.
I have said that.
You've also checked with like,
you're wasting my time.
You're wasting my time.
I'm having a guy like 30 seconds.
You know, having a guy on your helpers.
Yeah, please shut up.
Get a turkey on.
Waste, man.
Middle lane hoggers, punishable by death.
Because I'm the king.
And despite the fact I don't drive,
I'm seeing it from the back of the rangey.
And I, if I see one more, I'm going to
machine gun you with an NG 42.
Cool.
Merry Christmas.
Okay.
Benjamin.
I've got the Bristol Ulezone will no longer
be operational and all S2000s will be Euro
four compliant.
No, I don't.
I don't.
I don't know that you are a lawmaker,
if I'm honest.
Sorry.
If I can just advise.
No, if I worked in some sort of office where
they go through PCN disagreements,
whatever, and I said, the Queen,
the Queen, the King, one of them had said,
listen.
If you saw the Queen, I would really be amazed.
You would be.
Yeah.
But if I saw the King saying,
you led his cancer, I'd go fair.
All right.
Yeah.
That's all the PC.
It starts.
Everyone in Parliament, that's not true.
By the way, you can't just do that.
It doesn't make laws, but isn't the premise
to go over there and say, yo,
this is what's going on?
I believe when he first, they first take
office, they go over to Laino,
this is why I want to happen.
I don't remember this being part of my job.
Oh, by the way, just get rid of PCN.
PCN can stay, but your business for S2000 is over.
Do you think my other city is going to go,
hang on.
I've got like 20 fines going in London.
Why can't I get rid of those?
Because it's, no.
I just, I don't want to.
So you're sort of like on that sort of dictator vibe?
No, no, I do.
And then that's like the first 30 seconds of the speech.
The idea that that was part of the speech,
somewhat off camera is going,
well, do you think that's all right then?
And then the next 30 seconds would be,
I guess, sort of like a, bam,
bam, bam, bam, bam.
And you just mean drive off,
clearly in the direction of the Bristol Ulezzo.
And then people know that it is.
You'd say nothing about like,
well done, everyone.
Thanks for getting through another year.
No.
I'd say about the Bristol Ulezzo.
Then we'd just say, I'm facing up for about
100 pounds of time.
Yours is like a 10 second short and sweet.
Like, also no reading, no hello to the public.
The news, okay.
You thought the, we've got half an hour in
place for this.
No, let's say it's done.
I'd say for a Ulezzo PCN as well,
you get like a fine.
Right?
No, it's really not right.
But if you contact the council,
then they won't help you.
So the final is 120 pounds, but it's half of
you pay in 14 days.
So it's 60 pounds.
Then they still make you pay the Ulezz charge.
So it's 69 pounds.
So after all of that, after all of that,
you're like, already fine.
You still have to pay for the day you went in
there on top of the fine.
I thought, you know what, get rid of that and
just the six pounds is fine.
So that's what you'd say.
That's what I say in my speech.
I'd say, but I say only specifically for
S2000s in the Ulezzo in Bristol.
Okay, fair enough.
That was, I was interested.
I thought that something on the radio said in
your 60 seconds.
Good evening.
I don't know what time it is in the day for you.
I think it's normally in the afternoon.
Lots of time zones in the U.K.
So, you know, good evening all the morning,
wherever you are.
Perhaps expats if you're listening.
Sorry, I'm wasting time.
I hope you've all been well.
Another year.
Another day.
Another dollar.
That's what I always say.
Anyway, I reckon you should really speed up
low slip roads.
If I have people at my disposal,
they can be camped out on every slip road in the U.K.
You never know which ones they are.
If you don't go quick, you don't make it at home.
You will be like my mum.
You're off.
You've got mum, wife.
Who is it?
Who's the Queen to him?
Oh, Camilla.
Who's the Queen to him?
Who's the Queen to him?
Who's the
Queen to him?
That's what I said, isn't it?
I thought you were so confused.
I thought you were coming out with the
conspiracy theory stuff.
No, no, no.
If you're in an S class, you could end up
like that, but also I'm just going to get
someone to shoot you.
So just it's speed up on that slip rope or
else it's tough times.
Specific speeds?
70, that's when you get them onto the motorway.
If you're not building up to 70,
you're not saying that when the slip rope
slip road starts, it needs to be 70.
I don't want stopping on the launch control.
There needs to be a nice linear curve or
doesn't have to be linear really,
just a progression to 70.
And would you tell folks to get out of the
left hand lane to let people merge in or would you?
Absolutely, I would.
Well, I would say that the only time that
sitting in the middle lane is acceptable is
when there is a junction coming.
That's fine.
You can move into that, you know,
that middle lane.
That's the one time my MG 42 will be off limits.
Just if you move that.
But anyway, I hope it's a great year for you and yours.
I'm the king after all.
No, it's a Christmas.
No.
Okay.
No, because they're a multi-faith.
We got all sorts.
Okay.
It's not about Christmas.
This is about sending a message.
I think he likes electric cars.
He does.
Tough one.
Does he run one of his cars on?
Bioethanol.
I think he is old, Jack.
Is it knee-typing the mock to anyway?
Anyway, King's speech.
We'll revisit that next year.
If we could get some King's speeches in the
comments as well.
Just keep it a minute.
Keep it a minute.
Don't want any essays.
I ain't
reading all that.
Ben.
Hi.
Another point from you.
I hope you'll remember.
FBI driving X5s.
Yes.
Which doesn't sound all too shocking to me.
World Bureau of Investigation,
female body inspector.
Am I right?
I don't know.
Yeah, watch.
No, you know, I don't know.
Other guys.
Classic.
I have seen that film.
Anyway, carry on.
Anyway, the FBI has used Chevrolet something.
Tarthos.
Tarthos.
For many years.
It's quite iconic to see them.
Very.
And the head of the FBI, don't know who it
is, has said, yo, X5s.
Is he CEO of BMW?
I don't know.
He's got, he's got an American man.
He's got an American man.
He's got an American man.
Yeah.
So I'm American.
But I think we should move to Sippee BMWs.
That is Tarthos.
Now it's X5 protection they're called.
Yeah, they are.
They're blast resistant.
All the stuff they would normally be.
Which I always, I was saying to Will,
I always find it's funny.
They're called usually VR6, which is the
different types of protection.
So it's just an X5 with a VR6,
and it makes.
It's better.
Yeah, it's a war.
The, I was going to say, I've asked that
since then it's quite controversial.
Because obviously it's an American car.
I get it.
It's an American car.
You're showing off like your power.
59:00 FBI Switching to BMW X5s for Protection
So using American cars to show.
They do like they, I think, Escalades and
Tahoes and Suburbans, that that's an American
like intelligence agency.
Okay.
If a black don't want those is chasing you.
You're done.
You're done for.
We turn one corner.
I mean, you're escaped.
I think maybe that's why they went to the A's.
Why do we keep losing proof of traders?
So it's because there's less terms on a drag
strip, though.
But yeah, so that they've gone to X5's,
which is it's not, it's not a big story,
but it's just the pick one.
Do you know what?
Do you know why it doesn't work as well?
I know that they use tar hos and things for
their normal police girls, but we use X5's in the UK.
Yes.
If your FBI is like an English police
officer, it's not great.
Next step.
Next step's Astros for you.
Well, like a Nissan Leafs.
That's tough.
Let this please.
Now that car, I will agree, it should be a
Chevrolet because when I imagine I'm actually
like a movie, you know, like in a TV show,
a movie FBI are coming.
It's a big old.
Yeah.
What's it called?
Parade, not what it's called?
What does that mean?
Well, it is when they got all of them
together and they were like,
convoy.
Convoy, sure.
The convoy is coming to get you and it's all
scary and whatever.
That feels like when I imagine it like a French movie.
Yeah, I agree.
They're coming to get you.
It's got a weird siren.
Yeah.
I've been watching slow horses.
That's that they have the dogs,
which are like the boys are going and
cleaning stuff up, you know.
It is.
I don't know what this is.
Is this actual?
No, I'm talking.
No, it's a no.
Ben doesn't watch anything.
He's lost on any watches romantic film.
Drum card.
They watch his love actually every night.
I think cartoons obviously.
But they drive around in L-405.
Yeah.
They're all like L-405s or X-5s.
And Matt, you know what?
The X-5s are not as cool with,
because the L-405s are damn cool.
Yeah.
But one of the few times I'll accept the
sport as well.
That can be a bad East car.
Which is MI5 drive.
Well, this is the set up to a joke,
if I'm honest.
Well, I think we wouldn't know.
Is that not, would that not be the point?
I guess, I guess some of them are like
undercover police, sort of.
Yeah.
They will be the same sort of cars.
What I mean is that I think America should be
their Chevrolet's.
And what should they drive?
The X-5, well, what should they drive?
'Cause the X-5s should be a German,
but it should be, it should be a Range Rover.
No, no, actually.
No, well, it should be a fleet of Land Rover's.
It should be Rovers.
Land Rover, like a modern Defender.
Yeah.
Oi.
If I'm a MI5, that's my choice.
No, I'm not, I'm going, I'm going Blacktail L4,
L4-6.
The new big boy.
Oh, a new guy.
Yeah, but that's too luxurious,
isn't it?
Exactly, that's what the head drives around in.
Okay, so it's one of those at the front,
and then we'll have a couple,
no, yeah, I've got this.
L4-6 at the front, and that's like James
Bond, or whatever the person in charge James
Bond is called.
Okay, and then you have Range Rover Sports,
they're sort of like the quick,
they're gonna get you, they're gonna
apprehend you, and then you have the
Defenders, which are like the sort of,
they're doing the dirty work,
they're bashing off the road there.
What, it's a staple of English police force,
but XC 90s, subtle, but very angry.
It's not very, like, patriotic,
is it, but it's all fit.
No, but it's all fit.
The jags are quite funny if they have jags.
Can we chase them?
No, broken.
No, broken a chain.
(laughing)
I think he's gone.
We have like 15 of these.
All of them.
Spental, isn't it?
Yeah, honestly, and it's all steamed up inside.
No need to.
(laughing)
Quick chase them, I can't see.
XFR would be quite, quite mean,
like a black to XFR.
It's a green chain rattle.
I believe this about UK police force is that,
I know that it's about budgets and it's
about, you know, efficiency and that sort of
thing, but I think your police car needs to
be intimidating.
Agree.
If I see, I'm not committing crimes,
but if I was, and I see in this and Leaf,
I'm like--
Do the cover you mean, or--
I just mean like a Battenberg car.
That was cool?
Yes, yeah, correct.
Do you know what, I believe I think it would
inspire me to want to commit crime more if I
saw in this and Leaf police car?
Yeah.
'Cause I'd be like, I'm not taking you seriously.
I think you can do it.
This is a joke.
If I drive like 180 miles, you're going to run out.
Yeah.
I know that it says 120 on your dash,
but you're doing 60.
Then the policeman starts to get range
anxiety around about 150.
I could keep on the chase, but then it will come out.
I'm going to have to tell off my headlights
that it's bad for the motor if I'd let it run
out to zero.
In pursuit as well, your mileage is going way down.
Yeah, yeah.
'Cause at the end of the site,
do I even run out of charge?
I've got the light on.
Or they usually can't get picked up then.
You can't bring a Jerry can of electricity,
can you?
I'm going to get up streaming,
get in, and then watch those miles go back up.
That's true.
But then also then you have to decide,
do I slow back and try and make it the next
charging point?
I think--
Well, when they turn, are you using the
regenerative braking to try and get smart?
And it's a left-left onto, hold on,
I got to slow down.
They're trying to box you in and stop your
car, they're just using regen braking as you get in.
They're just running out of battery.
Yeah, and that, you know the classic years
ago now, but what course is it?
I don't know what the classic course that you imagine.
C-D.
Is it D?
But D or C, they're the ones I always think
It's a 1.2 course, I know there's loads of
people in the comments.
They're normally community.
Yeah, PCSOs.
Still, it needs to be a little bit like,
well, okay.
That is the thing, Americans do it right.
Your base is a chateau of Taurus was the first.
Even the Crown Vic, I'm a little bit like,
I'm a little bit, I don't want to mess with you.
To an American, they're probably like,
I run away from that, but to me,
I'm like, yeah, that's a bit scary.
I know.
Partly because I know he might have a
helicopter shotgun in the door.
Well, also because of Need for Speed has
taught me, it can keep up with the Veyron.
200 miles an hour, Crown Vic.
I mean, a Crown Vic would, I envision it,
like it could do a big old sort of power
slide, you turn in front of me and stop,
jump in, like a corset.
You know that?
Or your nicked.
(laughing)
Literally the Top Gear.
Yeah.
The Top Gear.
And I'm starting from like a word.
You know the video, it's an Astro,
Astro State, the one that skips down a side street.
(laughing)
You know, if they did that everywhere,
I'm scared.
Oh yeah.
'Cause if the place where I'm willing to
destroy this vehicle.
Yeah.
Or if they were half return trade.
Where they're like, right,
You tell me fella, there's been a domestic
down the road, they're just,
all the players are in sob, swapped,
of course, of these.
But then you can take it too far,
like you can have Dubai, where they used to,
famously, back of a day, have supercars,
right?
Yeah.
Tell me on then, like, may not commit a
crime, just have a ride in the next car.
Isn't that a bit of like a, it's a show.
Like the Italian thing.
Exactly, yeah, they will, all of them have,
we had them, we have the RS200,
please go in the Sierra Cosworth.
It's a, like a press stunt thing.
And then sometimes if they seize like a drug
dealer's car, instead of selling it on,
they will make it into like a promotional vehicle.
For the release force.
Because it's not getting crushed.
Exactly.
It's getting used.
Yeah.
And you, you are gonna get.
Now, what if you just put Battenberg,
if you were a drug dealer and you put
Battenberg on your car and you just went
around selling drugs and being like,
"No, should we cook the confiscate for this one?"
I think that's illegal.
No, no, no, look at the number on my shoulder.
One, three, one, two, three.
Now, how much Coke do you want?
PC, what I'd say?
How much, how much have I got?
I don't know, it's in the boot.
Next up is something I have lost in my mind.
There it is.
It's a manual.
That's interesting to me.
Now, what is that?
I'm gonna let one down.
There isn't a Reverendon manual.
Oh, okay.
Reverendon, one of my favorite Lamborghinis
of all time.
I would still have a most long go over that.
Yeah.
Believe it or not.
But, but it's still very, very cool.
Do you know what a Reverendon is,
Ben?
Mm-hmm.
Would you know what it's based on?
No sugar.
Exactly.
It's quite salty.
But Matt is, it's a Ventador before of it.
Sorry, Ben.
But you like the Ventador, how's that possible?
I do.
Have an eventador or have a most long go?
No, but it was before the eventador.
Yeah, it's in between.
I don't want that.
But that's that nice little crossover.
It's nice.
Cooler inside as well.
No, that's what I was gonna say.
I don't know.
Reventum has, or Reventon, which everyone
would say, has the best instrument cluster on
any car on Earth.
And I only know that from playing Falls of Horizon.
To fight a jet.
The whole thing is it's meant to look and
feel and not feel.
Do you actually know what this looks like,
Ben?
No.
I don't think that's by this car.
I just know that it looks like a mix of--
Also exceptionally rare.
Yeah, five coops, five vert.
Something ridiculous.
They're gonna be hippo-peas.
How much?
Millions.
Millions.
Oh well.
Many millions.
I think the last time I remember seeing one
sells for five or six mil, it's just--
But so sorry, carry on with your--
And one of the few times that I think the
metal satin paint allowed.
Agreed.
But basically, and this is also from the same
chap I mentioned earlier, Hex Graphica,
sent me a message, I think it was actually a
post from elsewhere, but basically said that
a manual was an option for a regenton in the
same way that you could get MLB 640 with a
manual because it's the same engine,
blah, blah, blah, but because there are so
few of them, no one chick picked it.
That's crazy.
I guess when they're so rare and you think,
am I going to be the only one with a manual
and it's going to be worthless and no one's
going to want it?
But imagine you were that one person,
that one drug lord.
Oh, I'm sorry.
You know what, I'll have a manual.
I thought there were far less,
there were our 36 Revantons total,
21 couperes and 15 roadsters,
still not a lot.
I'm a set, I don't actually like it.
I'm staring at it because I've always,
I've seen it a few times and I've never
really looked at it properly and now I'm
looking at it properly and I'd had a little
look at my phone just then a few more photos.
No.
But I do quite like it.
If you'd like to go and look at this,
don't look at it on the screen,
It looks like it's called Reventon startup.
Ben, look at this screen when it starts up.
Oh.
That is an actual, like an actual fighter jet spec bagel.
And then when it revs, you might not see it,
but the revs climb, they hold on the gear and
then the revs bend up and around and they
flip to the next one and we are.
It's so cool.
It's really cool.
And again, like there are newer,
you know, screens in cars that like look
clearer, but that looks like fighter jet.
That looks like it's come out of a typhoon or
something, it's really, really cool.
But yeah, just the idea that there could have
been, can't change that now.
No one's ever gonna convert a manual.
Or maybe there will be.
It'd be post possible by a very cool,
as an investment thing, it would be quite
scary for someone to go, you know what,
I'm sorry.
If it's a most lago underneath,
surely you can.
You know what I'm saying, you can,
but because it's such a valuable car,
it's so rare, while they don't ever do it,
but it was an option from the factory.
So they, Mégane, would have been there,
someone could have said, you know what,
whack a manual in there.
And they probably would have gone,
I've got sake.
It's a great question.
Well, I assume because there's no
architecture for it.
Whereas with the Merci Lago,
you had it from factory.
You can make it happen, surely.
I'm sure you can, but it's probably so,
also difficult.
There's something about the eventador being
that, that single clutch noise.
No, I agree.
I agree.
I'm just saying it's weird.
No one's ever tried that with the amount of
crazy stuff people do.
I'm sure they're worth too much.
No, I don't know, 'cause there's people doing
Merci Lago's worth more.
But yeah, I don't think the appetite is there for that.
It's not my age.
Horse power hunters.
Come on, mate.
Come on, mate.
Come on, have a go.
Like a five speed in it.
Surely it's gonna be worth money if you have
the only manual.
I've got an old MX5 gearbox somewhere.
I'll give it to you.
I'm possibly surprised.
I'm more surprised there hasn't really been dual clutch.
Yeah.
In the whole, that has been the complaint
about it other than the fact that they cost a
biblical amount of money to run.
But the complaint is, the reason why some
people won't buy one is the gearbox.
Yeah.
So why hasn't someone gone, well,
actually, we could do that.
I guess his team maybe it's 'cause it's new
to the pool.
Peter, here's the new product for later.
It is.
TRS, get the events, it's all going.
I think the events still suits that though.
When I hear a little, not a Revuelto,
changing gear, I don't know what it is,
there's something missing there.
It's just something in the pause,
and also in an event or they have that like,
I don't know what it is, it's in the mapping
or whatever it is where it just makes that noise.
Yeah.
That like in the downshifts and also when
they change gears.
It's not like a DSG file or something,
but it just adds character to the noise,
I think.
I saw people when the hurricane came out,
'cause obviously that's dual clutch,
right?
people saying that actually prefer the events
door, 'cause it already looks so ridiculous,
it's already so wide, so it's so far from
any, like, I know it.
Do you know what it is?
These days it isn't, but it felt so crazy
that then having that being punched in the
face sort of gear shift is better.
I'm sure it's everyone on the outside goes,
"Ah, the single clutch is way better."
But anyone that's driven what I rode on is
like, "No, it's just better to have the dual
clutch in the new one."
I don't, from a lot of people they will say
it is just more of an event to go out.
Yeah, exactly, yeah.
In the event to go out and all famous thing
is you change gear and you get that kick in
the back and the launch controls are the same.
Whereas in a dual clutch one it just sort of works.
Yeah.
You just, when I hear a two-merario take away
I'm like, "Eh."
Yeah.
It's just a bit, yeah.
Give me some drama and some noise and some excitement.
I've got breaking news.
Here we go.
Actual, I don't know, I had a BBC News
notification just then.
It's about driving.
Oh, here we go.
It'd be interesting, learner drivers in
England and Wales could face six month wait
before being allowed to set a practical test.
Why?
That's what they're doing already,
right?
No, he just is because of the wait time.
So between what?
Being 17, you'd have to be 17 and a half.
That's a headline, I don't know,
but I would assume that's because they don't
want people to, you know, I learned to drive
on in a field and they're going to take a
test the week after.
Hey, that's what I did.
Yeah, but what I mean is that I guess for
them it's like then you have six months of
actual learning time.
But then you're, so what, you have to be 17
and a half then to pass.
Or, yeah.
Crazy.
But you can learn, I guess.
Or six months from theory.
It's more information coming from Benjamin.
No, hang on.
I just read what it actually means.
So it's obviously a proposal when it will happen.
But it's because high percentage of road
deaths happen from young drivers.
I think it's to force you to learn for longer.
Yeah, but I don't think that's going to change.
I don't think you would even know.
Because it's inevitable when you're 17,
you're 18 or, well, yeah, okay,
if you're older, you're probably less likely
to be a dick.
But you're going to do it.
You've just been equipped with a two ton
metal death box.
You want to go fast, you're an idiot,
you're a child.
He's going to do it.
The backlog from 2020 stuff is already six
months as it is.
So it doesn't really make a difference,
but I guess forcing people to do that is kind
of, because the whole point is that,
well, okay, I'll pitch something to you.
The difference big is that you sort of pass a
test either way, right?
Yeah.
So you can't control what happens after that.
Like, right, of course, learning longer will,
you'll learn more, but you have to make sure
you're like a people pass who are definitely able to.
I was going to say, in which case,
make the test harder.
Exactly.
If you make it longer, make them do more
things, as it goes, okay, these people are.
I'm more certain that this person can go on the road.
If there is a test that's harder,
that means 20% of the people that are living
there and crashing straight into a family
fall, don't get through.
Yeah.
And that's better than saying--
Also, if you're a--
Give it a six months break.
If you're a government going,
so this is the test that we've set out,
and then you go, yeah, but the test is not that great.
Brother, you made the test.
It's your test.
You can't go, yeah, but I'm not sure about
that test, though.
We've changed it then.
You guys go way longer to take that one.
It's not your test.
(laughing)
The classic cream silence.
The little cream pause.
Next up, Ben, this is from you,
Australia Special License for Superpods.
Yes, I saw this.
I saw this
headline.
What is this?
I'm not too fair.
'Cause I've seen a few clips recently as well.
Australia already had licenses for--
I couldn't--
They've got all sorts of--
Turbo.
Yes.
I think if you're a newly passed driver,
you can't have a turbo car.
People can't have a leaky grip.
It's not really a thing, I guess,
there.
But there was a video, I saw,
like, a sort of viral clip.
It's got to get pulled over in a skyline.
S14 or something.
Yeah, I'll throw you too, I want to say.
And he gets pulled over and the policeman's
going, "What's your intercooler for?"
Yeah, he's like, "I just show."
Just for sure.
About the boost gauge.
Oh, that's not hooked up to anything.
And he opens the bonnet and he's like,
"What's that?"
It's a turbo.
I didn't know that, to be fair.
But apparently it's 'cause a guy got fined.
You get fined up to $2,000, Australian
dollars, which is--
Now, let me look it up, because I want to marry theirs.
There are red P-plates, there are all sorts
of differences.
For the plates that you have.
It's called a U license, this one,
and U-class license, and it's for ultra high
power vehicles covering cars in more than 266
kilowatts per ton.
A per dose per power to weight.
So wow, power to
weight.
And then, so it's that, wait,
you say the number again?
276 kilowatts per ton.
See, that's not that, it's not much,
but it's not that much.
You take seats out and you can't keep them off.
That's not hypercar territory.
No, not at all.
That's 275 power territory, really.
Well, you're looking at like high power
skylines, any Supers, all that sort of stuff
is that you're gonna be, M3s you might even
end up in there.
Can we get it in real money?
So sorry, it's a license you must pass or you must wait.
I don't know.
Sorry, how many do you say?
How many do you say?
Two, seven, six kilowatts per ton.
I didn't want kilowatts.
Why do they operate in kilowatts in Australia?
Must be upside down, I think.
Ease, yeah.
Hang upside if down long enough and you start
to see what's leading before.
276 kilowatts is 370 horsepower,
so 370 per ton.
Okay, that's a fair bit.
You're looking at a decent,
It's like a standard car.
What is that?
Let's have a look.
You're looking at cars that are like,
your average road cars that are four,
five hundred dollars per plus.
It said on the standard.
It's something that it was, it was most
McLarens, Lamborghinis and Ferraris,
what is that?
Yeah, so even like, that can't be that far
off things like that.
Here we go.
Like an M5.
Things of the new,
we've got a new V12, V12 vintage Aston
Martin, an F430 Scuderia, a 911 Turbo S
exclusive, Aston Martin vanquish,
570A Spyder, Gallardo Spyder Pefomante,
458, 378th Tump, LFA
Nurburgring, SLR McLaren, 'cause isn't it?
A DVR Serber,
but it's like bikes are a similar thing here,
right?
Where you can't, in the UK I mean.
Oh yeah.
It's not the same for cars.
As long as you can ensure it,
you can pass your test tomorrow,
go out and buy yourself a share on,
if you want.
But on a bike, I don't think you can do that.
Yeah, well it's different.
Yeah, there's CC's up to like X.
And the size.
Yeah.
But then my question is how do you win like a super car?
How do you test that?
Is it do or not 60 and not crash?
Is it giant?
Is it how can you prove that you are in
control of that?
It might be an age thing.
It might be like, again, it might be,
yeah, well, yeah, a test would be weird.
You'd have to have super cars.
Yeah, as I say, yeah, I'll do a test.
Yeah, I failed, I'll do it again.
Can you do a 0-200 in this store?
Also, yeah, they have to provide you the car.
Yeah, I'm just doing my fifth try at the test.
I just keep failing for some reason.
Anyway, can I have a go that good?
Anyway, I'm entering this corner at 98,
98 miles now.
It's actually a quick to be fair.
What?
Track depends on it.
Like a right hand turn, not great.
Not great.
Bet on the V-RAs around here.
This is easy.
No, I was trying to make it go.
Let's speed up.
I was trying to get extreme and I was like,
in the vents door on a track,
that's probably not actually that quick.
200 miles
an hour entry.
But in also quite extreme, sort of F1 spec,
really.
But yeah, interesting.
I'm not sure I'd be that keen on that as a
young, as a young, in the UK,
if I knew I'd have to start like Gran Turismo.
Do you like this test?
Coffee break, mate.
Get this Honda Beat through these codes.
And then you can have a Honda Beat.
Beat, oh.
(laughing) What audio list is,
whoa, hold on.
Edwin, you've put in here, Speed Awareness
course, car guy.
I did a Speed Awareness course.
Nice.
I did, and I got, and it was in the least
cool car possible.
I was in
the land cruiser picking up a set of wheels
two months ago.
Nice.
And it was like 53 and a 50 or something with
a speed pedal for that.
Yeah, incredible, genuinely incredible.
And I've never done a Speed Awareness course before.
And I was watching through the,
they do like, I'll tell you a little video.
I know there are different version,
there are different companies that provide this.
And I was, there was a video that they were
showing, and there was a list of cars in
there that I kept noticing in animations.
So, someone's had to animate this and they've
had to choose cars.
Now, normally it's gonna be a jazz and a micro.
And there were a couple of those,
but there were some interesting cars in there.
I've written down the things that I saw.
There was Will's Mégane, an RS250,
a liquid yellow one.
And it was like used five, 10 times,
loads of times.
A badly modified A45 AMG.
Like he had.
Well, sort of like going for the crowd really.
No, but it was just like maxim design
splitters and stuff.
That's what I mean to be like,
the people in the speed of awareness.
Play to the dealer, that's how.
And then there was an R35 GTR.
But it was just used for like a,
they were talking about, it was like towns
that get polluted.
If you drive quicker, you can't pull it small.
And it was just shots of cars at traffic in town.
It was just like RS250, Nissan GTR.
which car person this animation went,
who's behind the scenes?
'Cause I was watching it, I was going,
yeah, and I'm paying it out.
Ooh, that's it.
Ooh, hello.
Look at that.
The person doing it.
Why is he pointing it?
He's very, very, he's very...
He's online.
He's online, yeah.
He's online.
Can we see your face?
Yes.
Oh, wow.
Yeah, you have to have your camera on and
your mic on.
Can't have a blurred background.
I had the background blurred.
I did it here because I don't have Wi-Fi at home.
So I drove all the way here.
And the guy said, can you turn off your
blurred background?
I turned it off and the doctors on call sign
was in the background in our little nook.
And I had to quickly take it down otherwise...
Oh, is that why it was down?
Yeah, otherwise I thought someone was gonna
go, "Are you a doctor?"
I might then have to awkwardly go,
"No."
My friend, he blocked his...
He's not fan.
Yeah, not fan.
Not fan.
He should be in here.
Get him in.
Get him in.
Join the call, Ben Rogers.
What's strictly what happened,
is that?
It's pretty good.
But I've learnt my lesson.
I'm very sorry I won't do it again.
Did you have to say that?
Yes.
You did.
No, no, no.
At the end, they're like, "Show me a game
plan of how you're not going to speed."
I said, "I'm going to leave more."
I wonder if you're on the brake pedal and the
accelerator should sort of limit me.
You do like a burnout.
Quite good.
Bit crazy.
Three years.
See you in three years?
No, you can't have another speed of wear,
so it's for three years.
Correct.
If you get caught now, it's points.
It's points.
It's like a suspended sentence.
Exactly.
Oh, Tom, I'm out on parole.
Yeah, he does 71.
Present.
Bell me out.
Three of my guys, Edwin.
Next up, one word I can't say here,
McCann parking something, name.
I only had the Raptor for a few days.
I decided to go to, this was New Year's Eve
and I went to Tesco's near me.
Big news.
Big news.
Couldn't believe it had to go and stock up on supplies.
Bro said, you know what, counting down the
last days, last minutes.
And you see what club card offers are on.
I've never seen the car park to this Tesco so
busy in all my life.
I went before Christmas, like 23rd,
24th, nowhere near as busy.
I was struggling to find a space.
And the Raptor as well, which is a big car.
It might be part of a long boys limited,
I think.
You might believe it might be five minutes plus.
Honorary, honorable mentorship.
Yeah.
So I've backed into a space because I'm a
civilized human being.
Yeah.
Or be it, I understand why you might go
frontways because you can get access to your boot.
That's a hint for what's coming.
I reversed into the space, I went to get out
of the car.
My girlfriend was already out of the car.
And then she communicated to me that the
McCann, who I'd reversed, not reversed into,
but reversed up to.
It's dickheads getting upset or something,
I don't know.
You get out of my car, please.
Said, I need to get something out of my boot,
can you move forwards?
I, I express a little bit of disinterest and
I thought, well, why is that my problem?
I'm in my space.
Yeah.
I don't really care.
So you've both reversed in?
She was already there.
I thought she was reversed in as well.
She's reversed in as well.
Yeah.
So you're, you're, you've both,
you know, you're both doing the same thing.
Well, you both may happen to be in a large
car, but I'm not overhanging my space.
That is key.
I'm possibly, I'm literally on the line,
but it's either that or poke the nose right
out of front.
And it does, it does really.
It does do that.
So, the woman said to my girlfriend,
I need to get something out of the boot,
bangs or whatever.
Can you pull forward a bit?
I was like, okay, fine.
I agreed in the end.
So I'll be nice.
It's a new year after all.
And I pulled forward temporarily.
And I maybe waited 30 seconds to a minute.
And I looked at my mirror and she was still
sat in the driver's seat and just messing
around with things on her, reaching over into
the back seat.
And I was done at this point.
So I just reversed back into the space and
got out of the car.
And she went and ate shit at me.
I walked past the car and she was like,
you are selfish.
I just need to get something out of my case.
She went absolutely.
I was like, I just need to get something out
of the boot.
Just sit to the set.
I waited for you.
I pulled forward and waited for you.
And then she started getting absolutely
mental at me telling me, I should look for another space.
And then, hold on, just quickly,
you move forward.
That's what this one's.
She's in a McCann.
I'm in a raptor.
I could just drive over you woman.
I will destroy that McCann if I have to,
but it's not my car, so I can't.
Anyway, so she's going absolutely mental at me.
I was a bit very, very confused because I was
like, you could literally pull forward or whatever.
And then she said, I've forgotten.
Let me think.
I know what it was.
That's what it was.
I know what it was.
It's completely there.
And then she said to me, and this was where
it really pissed me off.
She said, when I said, I pulled forward and
waited for you, and she said,
I was on the phone.
Oh, sorry, mate.
Oh, you let me know when I'm on.
Well, I didn't quite, I just said,
oh, I'll wait for your phone calls,
shall I?
Also, you have AirPods.
Yeah.
You're not on the landline in McCann.
You could go anywhere and do that call.
You could be on the moon and do that call.
So she said that to me.
I was really not happy at all.
And then I walked off as I'm away from this.
She was a very
1:24:03 Angry McCann Incident at Tesco's
angry human being.
I was like, I'm not gonna partake in this.
New year, same me.
So I punched her.
That's anyway, I begged her before she could get me.
And then she's pulled out of her space.
Absolute light speed.
Like trying to shut us up, basically.
Like, I thought, right, well,
I'm gonna be killed by a mad woman in a
McCann, aren't I?
And she zoomed alongside me,
window up at this point, AirPods still in,
or she still on the phone.
She's just listening to the dash of anything.
And she's just like raging at me through the
window, and it's just a slam of the brakes
and whizzed out the junction.
But driving like an actual bell end in a busy car park.
I'm stunned she didn't mash someone's trolley
in, I'm not a child overall.
Crazy for me, I never heard that one.
I couldn't believe it, I was stunned.
That's wild.
The thing is, there are some people who are
just, they're waiting, they've got that fuse
that's ready to go for something.
It doesn't matter what it is.
It was the, it was the, I'm on the phone.
I was like, I'll kill you.
Oh, that's interesting.
I was, I'll kill you.
A great retire.
I am in a pickup truck.
You pick the wrong house full.
You're lucky this is a press car,
'cause if it was a normal Raptor owner,
I may have killed you.
Oh yeah, your lead pipe's gone.
Imagine the idea of like, you reverse on
someone's driveway and you used to get in your boot.
And then, so you just go, "Oh,
keep me with the house, please."
I also remembered a number plate so I could dock,
sir.
I know it was M6 something.
If you see a mechanic around the local area,
please feel free to.
Okay, but anyway, it's final thing.
We'll get to today is actually it will make
us, well, not you, it won't make you feel old
because you don't know what we're talking
about, is the Fast and Furious Charger.
The Charger in Fast and Furious,
it was a Fast and Furious 60s Charger.
Yes, 60s, 60s Charger.
When that movie came out, that class was
about 30 years old.
Oh no.
The equivalent would be now.
Okay.
It'd be like a Camaro, like would you call
it, not a fish.
Like a 2005.
A catfish?
Catfish, yeah, like that.
The equivalent, like a late 90s car,
is the equivalent to what Matt Charger is now.
That's rough.
I can't actually picture a car that from that
era, like 30 years ago, 35 years ago,
that would be a car.
That would be that.
Yeah,
that's rough.
That's really tough to see.
And obviously now it's like 60 something
years old, but still, I saw that as a point
on Instagram somewhere and I looked at it and
I was like, that's sad.
'Cause also, at the time, you could pick up
chargers for cheap.
They were not what they are now where every
single car is a 50 car.
Grand Car.
Yeah.
You could find them for a couple of grand.
But in that post, it said there was some like
equivalence like this, it would be,
I can't remember, I'll have to find it.
But it basically said equivalent,
this would be these cars and it was a couple
of tough cars, really, compared to a sort of 60 charger.
Rough.
We're all getting old, but and cars do that too.
And Ben still hasn't watched any of those films.
So this year, that's our New Year's resolution.
You are getting old.
No, you're old.
Thank you.
I know.
I don't care though.
Thank you very much for listening to this
episode of Cream.
Back at it again.
We'll see you as always next week.
Hopefully in a warmer unit, maybe our hands
will be alive
still.
German chat.
Merry ice cream to you all.
Yep,
freezing.
Beans.
Cream.
