0:00 Rule or Ruin: Murcielago Auction Win

A bird pooed on my dream car.

You could fit apparently three England's into China.

I say more.

It's not wrong.

The loophole will take a starring role,

along with their fast Alliara 6,

and their open quotation marks,

Ninky Nong.

Hello and welcome back to the 80th Cream Podcast.

The cars rule everything around me podcast

with myself, Will, Edwin to my right.

Mr Rogers behind my camera over there.

At the beginning of every single one of these

podcasts, we ask ourselves, if cars have

ruled or ruined our lives this week,

would you start?

I will start.

I was going to fop it off.

Everyone is now a week behind.

They've heard, it ended and we said,

we don't know what's happened.

So we went, we went to the auction.

We certainly did go to the auction on Sunday.

And I did win the auction.

It's not that simple yet.

I have committed to buy the car.

It's a lot of bloody money.

I'll be straight up front.

I do

not have that cash to buy that car.

So there's other things

involved.

The car's now in transport.

Blah, blah, blah.

It's all very complicated because it's an auction.

But it should

be coming.

Also, let's just note, you're still,

when you say you don't have the money to buy

it, it's that you're financing,

not that you've just committed to buy a car.

You have no intention to buy it.

No, no, it's not that.

Yeah, obviously.

For the last month, six weeks,

been doing a ton of prep to try and make sure

this can happen.

And yeah, it was possibly the most

nerve-wracking day ever.

It was quite cool because we were going to an event.

It was like, well, yeah, you know,

you're going to look around the cars and it

felt like normal.

And then it got closer to one o'clock when

the auction was starting.

I was like, oh, gee.

So I went along to, and I said to Will,

I won't, I won't come along if you don't want me to.

But Will was like, I don't mind.

That's fine.

And so my plan was I was going to stand back

and just film.

So I don't want to be, when you're an auction

bidding on a car, it gets stressful.

The smallest things make you upset.

It's moving too quickly.

I'm going to miss it.

So I was like, I'm going to go stand in the

back and Patrick, social media Patrick came

along as well.

And so we were like, we'll go and stand in

the corner and film.

And you were fine right up until a lot before.

You were kind of joking with us.

And then there was a lot before,

which is a poor shot and Will just went silent.

It was, yeah, it got to me.

I felt all jovial and normal.

And then as soon as he was like,

right, 125, I was like, I know,

now I have to do something.

What was the heart rate?

I couldn't really feel it, but it did start to go.

And I was panicking because I was like,

I have to perform here.

I saw the footage afterwards,

you looked a bit rattled.

And also, I don't know, from the footage that

you'll see it in the video when it eventually

comes out, but there's, I don't know,

there may be a lack of emotion there just

because of a pure concentration.

I know, there's a lot of, I've watched it back.

I've watched it back a few times.

You could explain the way that it actually

went in the lot, but yeah, there's ups and

downs you can tell.

Yeah, so it started off, I don't want to talk

about the numbers too much, because again,

I know it's a lot of money and it's a little

bit insensitive to talk about that much

money, but it started off thinking around

about 100 grand or so, and bearing in mind,

the estimate on this car was 175 to 225,

and it started at 100, and I was like,

I've done a little bit of research on how you

bid an auction, it was like,

no room, let it settle for a bit.

But I got a little bit touchy,

and it went like 100, 110, 120,

130, and I was like, right, I need to,

I need to state my claim here,

and I put in a bid at like 140,

someone else did 150, and then it got to 160,

which was my bid again, and it just stalled.

It just went silent in the room.

Complete silence.

At that point, it was pounding,

because I was like, again, this is a lot of

money, but it's considerably less than I

thought it would be.

That would make it the cheapest mercy lago in

like three years.

Yeah, easily.

annoyingly, it went up from there,

and it went up quite quickly from there,

and it was the final moments were tough.

They were, again, I know this is bidding on a

Lamborghini, but my goal, it was quite emotional.

I'm very lucky my dad came with me and my

granddad as well.

There's all three generations of charm there,

and I kind of got to my max,

and I looked to my dad, and my dad was like,

"Just go above, I'll help you."

I was like, "Okay, God, okay,

now I'm getting into generational debt."

I'm going backwards.

I'm going backwards on the generational debt.

But yeah, in the end of one,

and I don't think I've felt quite as

emotional as that.

There was a, you don't know about this yet,

there was a really sweet moment that I think

Patrick did get, shout out Patrick for

covering loads of stuff that day.

It was after you'd won, you said,

"I need to get some air."

And as you're walking out, Will was in front

of both Will and Patrick and I.

past the martialago, he just went down and touched it.

Yeah, I've got, I saw that one.

And it was very clear like a,

"Okay, yeah, no, that's real."

I walked past it, I didn't even look at it.

I also, when we arrived, I didn't even look

at the car.

Not look at the car, I looked round the car

from like, "This is the thing I'm buying,

it's the first time I'm seeing it."

But I didn't take a picture of it.

I was like, "I don't want a picture of this."

In case this goes bad or I don't win it,

I was like, "I don't want a picture of that."

I took one photo on the day and it was just

one photo of the front of the car,

I didn't need it.

I was like, "Just want that photo."

And yeah, I was just mad.

I had to ask to sit in it afterwards.

I've just won and I've now had a ridiculous

amount of money.

And I just said, "Can I sit in there?"

And he went, "Oh, I have to ask.

I have to go and ask."

There's so much to unpack from the whole

thing, but I've never been an auction before.

Obviously we've done online stuff and bid at

auction, but in person I've never done it.

So it was incredibly nerve-wracking.

But I did get four free drinks tokens,

which I used on a diet Coke.

I used that on a Sprite tank.

And the woman at the bar said,

"Don't you want a champagne?"

And I said, "God, no.

Please, God, no."

But yeah, just a crazy, crazy experience.

I can't quite believe it.

I went into it confident that my heart was

saying this is happening.

But everything in my brain said,

"Call it isn't happening.

You

look around the room because this is the

Goodwood members meeting."

And I was like, "It was money."

And the people there, I was like,

"Someone else is good.

Everyone else can afford it more than I can,

100%."

And somehow it happened.

I actually got the guy who, I think there was

roughly three people bidding on it,

one online.

And then I think there was someone else

earlier on, but they kind of fell out earlier

on in the

bids.

So it was me, someone else, and then someone online.

And the guy who I think I was up against

right at the end, he came up to me.

And I don't know if he knows about the channel.

I don't know if he knows about anything,

but he came up to me afterwards and was like,

congratulations, you deserve it.

And then he shook my hand and sort of left me to it.

But then as you walked off, he said,

I'm sorry for bidding you up.

Yeah, he passed it.

So I could have been much cheaper.

Thanks for this.

So yeah, very, very emotional.

But yeah, hopefully this week it will all be sorted.

And hopefully this week it will be delivered.

We're not going to say big M secured yet.

No, there's a lot of things conjuncts that

have to happen.

I'm confident that it will.

But it doesn't feel, I feel emotional about

it, but until it's here in front I mean,

it's sorted, I've got the V5 and whatever

else, then yeah, then it's secured.

But singing in person, I look round it.

And again, that car's not perfect,

but I look round it.

I was like, there's nothing that could put me off this.

No.

And honestly, for the, we talked about it

before, so the car was previously a cat D and

then D registered from it.

It's, it looks really solid overall.

Yeah.

Like it's had some paint on the front end and

it needs probably a front bumper paint,

but no need to do that when you're going to use it.

Yeah.

It looks solid.

Yeah.

Like it looks like a really good car.

I spoke to, to a furlongers who've been

looking off to the car and they said that

car's perfect for somebody who wants to go

out and use it, which is exactly what I want to do.

Lots of other people want to go and put it in

a collection or a low mile one.

That's why I thought that car,

I think you said it to me before,

but it feels like one of the last time,

well, one of the last sort of opportunities

to get into a car like that.

And again, I know it's still a lot of money,

but if you track back to Diablo's Contash,

they just have this curve where they,

once they start going that way,

they're gone.

It gets very, very, you have to be a

multi-millionaire to even afford a bad one.

So I said to my girlfriend asked me the night

before, do you think he'll get it?

I said, I like in the weeks leading up to it,

I was confident.

I was like, now you're getting this fine.

And it was when you, it's when you said that

when you've rung up, you've rung up for a

moment and said, I'm interested in the car.

And they said, Oh, 11 people have called us

before you about this.

My heart sank.

I was like, Oh, no.

Yeah.

That's on an auction card.

All that takes is one other person.

Yeah.

And then when you've got 11 people,

but I'm, yeah, I do genuinely believe that's,

that was it.

The ship is gone.

It's also quite, I can't, I don't know if I

mentioned this before on the podcast,

but again, this will all be in the video when

it, if hopefully it all comes out,

but that car came up for sale.

Sorry, the auction came up, it said like this

is coming up, had no details or anything like that.

And I, I saw a VIN plate.

So I got a VIN, I had to use the car vertical

actually to, to run a check on it.

And then, so I found the number plate for it

eventually, and I ran the plate and I

eventually found it went through,

collecting cars where it sold five years ago,

and then found it was on a supercar driver video.

So I loaded up the supercar driver video,

just to watch it back, see if there's any

details mentioned in there.

So it was about five years ago,

looked through the comments.

I was like, "Oh, that guy, this sounds like me."

That's exactly what I think.

Because it said, you know, the 6.2 is the

perfect one for me in this exact spec.

I know there's better ones, but this is the

one I want.

It was liked by a supercar driver.

And I was like, that's my account.

So I commented on that video about that car

five years ago.

And now I've actually bought that car,

which to me is mental.

So it's a ruin this week?

Yeah, no.

I mean, you're not financially pretty heavy.

It's financially and stress-wise.

It could, it would be the biggest ruin if it

wasn't for the reward on the other side,

hopefully is the biggest rule.

So yeah, big M potentially secured,

essentially on the way.

Hopefully next week we should know,

we should know more.

And then it might be a while till we see it,

right?

Because it's going to go away.

That car needs, it'll come here at some point.

So maybe we'll have it in the back of the

podcast at some point.

We'll film it, but the car needs,

despite all that money.

The car needs an MOT and some other bits.

So a little bit welding in a tie rod's gone.

I have been looking at most,

well, I've known about Mercy logo cost for a

while, but I've been looking and I was like,

okay.

Let's just get it in and have a look and see

what we need.

A couple of number plate bulbs and we should

be all good.

But yeah, just unbelievably cool.

Thank you very much for listening and

participating in the hype.

You heard it here first.

This will be again, video coming soon.

But yeah, thank you very much to everyone

who's listened to the podcast,

watched all the videos.

I know that supercar stuff, that level of

thing is a little bit different for a lot of

people, but for me, that's the one.

Hopefully people listening can find something

relatable about it because it's not,

you're not on a rich to just buying a supercar.

It's hard to get that across to people,

I think.

But it is true though.

It is what since the day you saw one to the

spec, your dream car.

So I know everyone on YouTube goes,

oh, every car your dream car,

no, this actually is the dream car.

Also, if you're a long time creamer,

you'll understand that when Will buys a car,

it hangs around for approximately a day.

And there's no emotion.

It goes on to the next one.

You have been saying, if you get it,

it's here forever.

As long as I can afford that car,

I don't think I would ever sell it.

Unless I absolutely had to sell it,

which I hope never happens.

Obviously you never know.

I would like to keep it forever.

I want me to have it for my kids to see it.

I want other people to see it.

That's the point of that.

car.

When do you see these cars?

No, other than that show,

you don't

see them.

Taffy, and it doesn't match the beautiful

nature of this car now.

It really is nice.

I'm quite worried because it's a nice car

now, and I don't do nice cars exceptionally.

Yeah, I'm exceedingly happy about that.

And I took the tusk it out to Goodwood.

You know what?

I've said it before, I'm not an English car man.

But something about driving a green TVL

Tuscan through the rolling...

No, not Chilton Hills.

12:55 TDC Tuscan Drive Through Hills

What is that?

Sorry?

They're sorry Hills.

They would be sorry.

Not South Downs, is it?

Might be.

There is a nice route.

I went to Goodwood last year.

This is my story, hey?

I went through that same bit,

and it is beautiful.

That's what I mean.

So I was driving through the rolling Goodwood

Hills, let's say, of green and yellow...

Is it rapeseed?

I think.

Right.

Oh, I saw that.

Yeah.

Like rolling yellow.

You were driving through the fields.

Mate, for the Horizons page,

I want to stand up.

Did you know he bought the cornfield?

I felt a bit patriotic, continuing.

I looked around, I was like,

nothing beats a bit of England.

I'm going to go home and have mesh potato.

I'm going to beat my wife up.

I was

driving.

I was like, this is dream worthy.

I absolutely loved it.

It was amazing.

The weather was fantastic.

Only one minor ruin to bring it down.

We said we were looking for a Civic,

an EG or an EK hatch.

We lost the one on the auction.

Another green one came up like identical spec.

I was like, this is perfect.

Everything looked okay on the photos.

I asked the guy about the rust on it.

And in the meantime, ran a Car Vertical.

Shout out to Car Vertical.

This week's podcast sponsor was always.

They I ran it and I was like,

oh, that's weird.

It's got a cat C from like the mid 2000s on

the rear right quarter.

Like within five

minutes later, I was already a bit like,

okay, no, this car's probably not good.

Unless it's ultra clean.

It's been repaired well.

And he came back to me and went,

it's just some rust coming through on the rear right.

It's had a previous repair somewhere.

So yeah, that was not so good.

But if you're ever buying a car,

make sure that you're on a car vertical check.

It will tell you if a car's ever been

crashed, stolen or clocked.

We say every time, don't get burned on a car,

don't leave any stone unturned.

Make sure you check it.

Yeah, do you, do you, do you,

do you do diligence?

That's the word.

Do you do diligence?

Easy for you.

And also you can get 20% off without discount

code, cream, didn't get that off a normal report.

But if you know you're gonna buy a load of

cars this year, or maybe you and your mates

are gonna buy a load of cars this year,

you can bundle a load of reports together

that you can use at a later date.

Yeah, I think you can get almost 50% off

reports if you do it that way.

So again, always use Car Vertical before you

buy a car.

So yeah, you don't get burned.

Benjamin, I cleaned the golf.

No party way, that's dream worthy.

Yep, and a bird pooed on it.

Oh!

And that's all my updates, it's a rule.

Those are both great YouTube titles.

Yeah, I cleaned my dream car.

A bird pooed on my dream car.

So there's a classic move though,

isn't it?

It's between the car and then the bird goes,

"That's a lovely car."

Yeah, it's a tough one.

I wanna know the psychology behind it,

but that's my updates.

Of the birds?

Like, what, why do they aim for clean cars?

Right, sit that crow down, let's have a talk to it.

But I don't wanna lie detector,

I don't know what he really thinks.

It must be on purpose.

Maybe.

Do you think there's some sort of shiny

object type thing?

That car's been behaving bad.

But why do then, why do then?

When you see a car that's covered in bird

poop, if it's already covered in bird poop,

why do they keep pooing on it?

I see, I disagree, I disagree.

Because I've had that car's needed to clean

for about a month.

Pay that clean.

No bird poo on it.

Just English.

Just dust and dirt and mud on that car,

second on my golf.

Yeah.

And you need to clean it for ages,

second I clean it, bird poo.

Is it because you don't notice?

No, I don't notice.

Okay.

'Cause having a dirty exterior in my car

doesn't really upset me that much.

What about dirty interior in your car?

That doesn't upset you either.

It does.

All over your car.

Look in my car.

Do you know what?

Actually, there is a weird thing with your

cars I've noticed.

It's clean, like as in there's no dust and grime.

Yeah, but there's just stuff everywhere.

Empty bottles and wrappers and things.

I do not drive it.

So you're like Hoover it, but you're hooving

around the empty bottles.

Sorry, excuse me.

I got the exterior clean and my girlfriend

said I'll clean the interior for you.

I said, all right, cool.

Wow.

And then she just did it for me.

A couple who cleans together.

Well, I didn't clean it.

Squeeze together.

She just offered to clean it.

So I said, I said, you know,

I'll just do that.

I'll go get it clean.

And she was like, no, I want to.

In reality, Ben, when you'll do it wrong,

get out of the way.

No, I actually do the stripes in the carpet

that I like.

We're interior cleaning where the idea of it

really interests me.

I want to do it when I think about it.

And then after upwards of 15 seconds,

I want it done.

So I said to her, I was like,

can you just come in the Hoover?

I'm going to start.

And then the second I get bored,

I'll give it to you.

She went, yeah, fine.

How long was it?

10 seconds.

It was when the first bit wouldn't come off

the carpet immediately.

I was like, yeah, yeah, yeah.

So that was very kind of cool.

I think that I'd like to know the psychology of this.

I'd like to know if there is a different part

of detail as minds who just,

it has to be the same thing in my mind when I

see a dirty underside of a car.

I'm like, I need that, that needs to be cleaned.

Whereas I lack that on the

outside.

If it's dirty, I'm like, eh,

it's dirty.

But I don't mind dirt, it's bird poop that upsets me.

But what I'm saying is you're a teary thing

where you go, the moment it gets a little bit

annoying, like to say, but if I'm cleaning a

car and there's a bit that won't come off,

I'm like, ah, can we bother?

'Cause I'm in my head, I get the Hoover,

I just go, whoosh.

And it just, it takes everything off,

but it doesn't, it's all stuck to the carpet.

That was a weird noise.

Yeah.

You whip it.

That's crazy.

I don't know what the noise is,

a sucking noise.

Oh, and then do one of those for us.

All right, new news pack, lovely.

To rule for me, I have a clean golf.

Past three rules, guys.

S2000s back.

Three rules are very different varieties.

You've got the golf and the S2000 together.

I have a photo of them to get over the first time.

Wow.

Outside your house, would you like to show us?

Which the phone?

No, no, no.

Ben is not a fan of people turning up to his

house and saying, hello, this is your house.

Hello, and then ringing the buzzer.

I don't mind it.

I'm ringing the buzzer on my massive gate.

You don't mind it.

So you're saying the creamers would...

18:42 Creamers Visiting Ben's House

No, whenever I have people near my house

before, I don't mind it.

I just...

He goes, ah, I've got to walk all the way

down the drive.

It's like three miles.

Send the bell hop house, see them.

No, I'm not like...

It's always nice to meet people,

but it is somewhat unsettling.

I can feel that.

To be fair.

I can feel that.

At your house.

To be fair, yeah.

Yeah, but when they go, do you live here and

I have to then go,

Well, you could live.

You could say.

No, this is...

How are both of my cars here?

I've just come to the local,

this person on this car.

How are both of my cars there then?

That's what I get it.

Well, you went, I thought I'd go for a drive,

wouldn't I?

Please, please, speak for me for it.

Yeah, no, yeah, that's fun.

Will and I should really stop leaving your

address in truck stops.

Yeah.

Let's not stop the discussion.

Do the description of every TDC video.

Three big rules we will get with mercy

updates as it arrives.

God, I hope so.

At the sake of my ticker.

Shall we get on men?

To some anecdotes and what such.

Let's do it, let's do it, we'll start off.

I think this is from you, Benjamin.

Cream on the iPod.

Yes.

It was a

bit weird when I read that.

I have been told about the TDC Reddit,

which exists.

Okay.

And you were a Redditor?

Absolutely not.

My lady, but no, but I know I'm aware it exists.

I found this in there.

Is that, Ben, you're a Reddit monitor.

Like self-appointed now.

Just like your lunch monitor,

duties.

I don't want so.

You've fallen into it.

You've been chosen.

You are a pre-fat.

Listen, no shade to anyone who likes Reddit.

It's not my vibe.

Okay.

So, I mean, you'll go in it to check every

now and then now.

Well, no, I know, yeah.

Okay, for the gonna podcast,

I'll go in check occasionally.

Okay.

Shout out to our Creamers on Reddit.

Yeah.

Nobody's ever said that sentence before.

That's fair.

Well, they probably have.

This is a--

I think that's a no, right?

I think that's where the screen is at.

In the blue one, which is the cool color,

I wanted that color.

Somebody has basically put the Creamer

podcast on their iPod.

And it's pretty current as well.

That's number 77 in there.

From what I could tell--

So, isn't it literally two or three ago?

Yeah, look, ninth of the fourth,

clean.

It's good work.

It seems like it's like a hobby for them.

Because it's quite difficult to get that from

Spotify onto the iPod.

Why would it have to be from Spotify?

Could it not be from YouTube?

I guess you can.

Why would it be a hobby?

It's not a hobby.

Everyone else is doing it for work.

Yeah, I've just burned on seven songs while

you get paid for that.

No, I just put it a long day today.

I've got to listen to every single podcast.

Cream.

I don't know.

I don't know.

I've lost my train of thought entirely.

Someone say something.

It's cool to see on an iPod.

Yeah, because that's pre-U.

Do you know what?

Yeah.

Do you know what I want at some point?

Creamers shout if you want to go faster.

I agree, I'd like a physical media cream.

A vinyl ring.

Now we know that Richard Porter,

not the drug kingpin from the 90s,

but potentially we don't, we've never seen

him in the same room.

Did that four trackers at night?

That is an available thing that people can do.

Someone has made that.

Someone has made that.

They bought off band camp the recording and

then put it onto a vinyl, which is someone out there.

In someone's house.

In someone's house somewhere,

or a place of work, 'cause obviously you'd

listen to podcasts at work.

That's a job.

Exist tractors at night in physical form.

Well, why don't we have one?

We need to go platinum first.

I don't know if we have platinum.

We're like a gold.

Really?

Yeah.

Is that half a million sales?

Set your sights higher, Ben.

Yeah.

Tractors.

It is gonna start.

It is gonna start.

It is gonna start.

It's one of those songs that,

you know, just takes a few people to pick up on it.

Do you know what it is?

It's, you know, when it rolls around

Christmas and everyone just decides,

right, we're gonna rally behind a song and

push that back up the charts.

That's what we need to track tonight.

Six months or so.

No, it's more than that.

But, you know, there's an X amount of months

before Christmas.

Let's just get the momentum going now for

Christmas and we should reach,

we can get into a top 100.

Should we do a Christmas song?

That would be funny.

Can we collab with Richard Porter and do a

Christmas song?

A cream Christmas song.

And that one?

Cream crackers.

No, that's not a Christmas thing.

Cream crackers are just, they're just,

they're sniffing cream.

I'll be honest, my brain formed crackers,

being a Christmas thing, and cream crackers

are went, that's you, a lot.

Cream Christmas crackers.

That's better.

Thank you, yeah.

And we do a music video and everything.

A music video.

And then we get, then, naturally,

you'd end up getting sort of collaborations,

so we'd end up having like eight or something in there.

Eight, eight, eight, yeah.

We'd have him in there.

50 cent.

50 cent.

Oh, I'll be like that.

Big L posthumously, baby.

Yeah, I doubt it.

I'd be happy with that.

Yeah, and I could projection one.

Not hologram.

I think there's legs in this,

guys.

Look, if you start suggesting some topics for

Christmas songs, we might go for it.

All we need is a one record exec.

To bring it up.

To bring it all out our album.

And we're there.

And we go, look, this is our first song,

"Cream" and they go, "I think that exists if

I'm missing it."

You may be stealing that.

All right, what have we got next?

Next up is some absolutely huge news.

Now a few people deemed me about this or

deemed "Cream" and what such.

Ben, you've put this in here.

What's that?

This is officially, potentially,

you heard it here first.

Chinese car maker, patent, or patents,

car toilet.

And then you've

23:59 Chinese Car Toilet Patent Prediction

said, we predicted this, brackets,

Greg.

Yeah, we predicted Greg.

What's Greg?

No, Greg, our friend, Greg, who we used to work with.

Oh, shout out, Greg.

You messaged me,

this news, and I thought he deserved a shout

out for it.

Do you know what, hence why I put Greg at this?

Hey, crazy.

We did predict this.

Do we do it straight up a week?

And add it to the list, we need a list running.

Predict to the S1 I'm at.

We gave Gordon Murray the idea.

Yeah.

We predicted China, the country of,

We did general.

It feels a little insider tracing.

Yeah, no, because it was too soon.

It was like four days after.

We shouldn't be releasing, you know,

when, when, I was the company,

what's the name of that company that did the

James Bond thing?

What's the bow thing?

No, that's the radio.

No idea.

No idea.

No, they had a different name.

Oh, X-Peng, not what it is.

No, no, sorry.

No, it's, it's, let's listen to the company.

Sherry.

You, you fee.

No, that's not security.

No, that's security.

I don't know anything more about it other than that.

Neither do I.

Apparently it's voice activated,

I suppose.

(laughing)

You just go, just go.

Shit!

There it goes.

All right.

Does it mean that it talks to you?

Does it open the seat like a sort of Bond villain?

Denzel.

Denzel.

There it is.

I've never got that in a million years.

No, my point being that it's,

you know, when Denzel lets us in on these

things, 'cause we're paid by Denzel,

obviously.

Of course.

We shouldn't be going out and telling the

straight secrets.

So we got the, it was the sort of time zone

was different.

Yeah.

We got the, you know, it was all wrong.

We didn't know the time zone.

We thought the NBA said you must promote this new toilet.

Do it a week earlier.

So sorry about that Denzel.

We won't do that in the future.

I'm gonna put it up.

What?

I want to know more details about the toilet.

I have to understand, 'cause when I thought

it was a good idea and then realized why

exactly it isn't a good idea.

The smell when I saw that it was actually a thing.

How are you taking your trousers down in the

middle of a journey?

What if the car does it for you?

Right.

It's a massage seat.

Oh.

I'm assuming it's for use when you're not driving.

So, it's a patent they file basically for a

car toilet, and so we're not gonna know much

about it, because it's just what they file.

Or you would.

Well, they file the patent for the

technology, so they're not gonna put like a

press for use out.

But basically, it's a hidden toilet under the

seat, and when it's not in use,

it can slide underneath the passenger seat,

either physically or through the car's voice

recognition system.

It's only for the driver.

Also, this feels like an issue waiting to

happen, just like S classes.

Great, we're menu.

But what happens when there's a malfunction

in the toilet that happens when you shouldn't get stuck?

Also, I just don't want, like if I bought a

second car, you can clean your seats,

you can do everything.

It just feels like someone's,

it feels violated.

Also, going up to a mechanic and going,

do you have any bleach?

I'm going, what?

I need to clean the toilet, don't I?

It would need servicing.

Yeah, you have to--

The toilet would need servicing.

Have you done the interval to change on the toilet?

Yeah, no, that's the whole thing.

I thought about, it was bad enough when I

found out that Range Rover heated seats have

to be serviced because they have to change

the filter, they have a filter in them

because they're like--

Crazy.

And I thought, how much poo is in those filters?

How could people find the seats?

Yeah.

If you find the seat, there's going to be,

there will naturally be poo particles in

those--

It's at least in the fibres of the cushion of the seat.

It's got to be catching something.

And there's the hook, the episode sharing.

No, no, deck, don't use that,

please.

Not again, please do.

No, please do.

Poo based to J-Pree.

I don't know, but the thing is that,

I just don't want that in my car.

Well, I think--

I will lose concentration if I have to take a turn.

No, I don't think it's while driving.

I think it's for a stop.

It's like a hard service.

But that's the point.

I have a service that I can stop.

No, but in the middle of nowhere,

China's bigger than will.

Yeah, but I'd say so.

I think that might be a fact.

They have so good stations.

You could fit apparently, three England's into China.

I'd say more.

It's not wrong.

But at least three.

upwards of three.

Now, it makes sense, but, right,

okay, you stop as a driver to use it.

But if I'm trying to drive, and my

passenger's there, locked in,

just straining next to

me, I'm not continuing to drive.

I'm refusing to drive.

There's glancing over and into the air.

What does it

smell?

You're a red-faced passenger.

They're holding me out, oh, Jesus handle.

Just a white knuckle going.

Also, like, where's toilet roll coming from?

And like, is there somewhere to stall the

toilet roll in the corner?

Oh, sorry.

So I feel like they stand that white side.

There's somewhere to put the toilet roll.

Stand that white first.

If you don't say a white first,

then they have to then...

Looking over at the drive again,

you've missed a bit.

Also means I have to sit down pee.

You literally just mooning your driver.

You look over and go, "Oh my God."

What's your passenger's bent over in front of you?

Type of shot that you get in the voice for no reason.

Oh, wow.

Okay.

As of 2026, China has approximately 2,000

motorway service areas.

I would've thought there would be more.

2,000.

How many have we got?

We must have low.

We've got to have at least 500.

That's got to be a factor.

That's at least.

That's why he's not wrong.

We have 94.

I don't think that's true at all.

They're probably 97 to 107 official motorway

service areas.

Unknown number.

I guess that's motorway service.

I guess that makes-

83%

are in English.

So how many more is that?

So we have 100, they have 2,000.

How many more is that?

20 times.

Yes.

Okay.

Good mask.

How many times bigger?

Is China.

Is China than the UK?

At least at least three times.

Cutting edges.

39 to 40 times bigger than the UK.

So nowhere in it?

No way

more.

What?

Because they have 2,000.

Yeah.

And only

40 times bigger.

That's what the toilet makes sense.

No, there's no sense, 'cause they have more

services than we did.

No, they don't.

Proportionately.

You just said it the other way around.

You just said there's 30 to 40 times more

people, but only 20 times more services.

Yeah, a lot of people, there's 30 to 40 times the size.

Right.

So they should have 40 times as many services as us.

Yeah, that's right.

That is right.

There you go.

Absolutely dead last.

Yeah.

And they have 20 times.

They have half a number of services per

capita, like a

service station density, important metric for a country.

Yeah.

See it on the next census.

The bug in the room that's listening to this,

then they got this is going,

what the hell are they talking about?

The denser bug, the denser bug is listening,

going, "This stats aren't real."

Good job team, leave them off the trail.

Well, I would need to build 8,000 more services.

They'll never believe that we're sponsoring

you now with that misinformation.

What we got next?

Edwin, you've put in here best getaway car,

A45.

Right, I was driving back from the woodest of good.

And I

30:48 A45 AMG Best Getaway Car Discussion

was behind in traffic, A, a little bit of random offside.

Remember we talked about the story of my next

five blowing up on Cocking Hill.

Did you drive that way?

I did, of course, yeah.

Did you notice where there was a set of

temporary traffic?

In the exact same place.

It was the same place that I was behind Will.

If you don't know, Will overtook me on a way

to Goodwood years ago in his Evo.

I was in my turbo next five.

I tried to keep up, flat shifted into a gear

and blew my engine to smithereens.

When I say that, every rod snapped.

And two rods went out through each side of the block.

Nice.

What does a flat shift mean?

Okay, so when you're mapping a car,

you can have there there are like a sensor on

the amount of throttle input you have and

like on your clutch and stuff.

You can ask it that when you put the clutch

in to shift gears, it will retard the

ignition so that you don't have to let off

the throttle and you will keep your boost.

Your boost will just stay all the way out.

The issue with that though, is on a car with

stock rods, torque is what kills them and

torque down low, lower than it's used to.

Like torque, obviously, think of a dynograph,

a rise is as you go up, right?

If you're flat shifting it, making all of the

boost you would, that torque figure is going

to be a lot higher than it usually is.

And MX-5 stock engines do not like torque

lower than they're used to going.

And so I gave mine all of the torque while

flat shifting at the end of it.

I'm not dealing with this anymore.

This is for you to deal with.

So having previously flat shifted was it

wasn't the first time?

No, no, many hundreds of times.

It was the straw that broke the camel's back,

but absolutely obliterated the camel's back.

and RPM.

Just I'd raise the limit, which you shouldn't also do.

So just all of the things you should be doing.

And I blew the engine.

But the reason was because Will and I were

first in line of the temporary traffic light.

We knew that it was an open road as you crash the hill.

And I came up to this traffic light in the TV

yard, just sat there going, no,

no, no, no.

Even though I was alone, I was like,

no, no, not on this day.

But the second reason being on the way back

in that same traffic jam, I was behind an A45 AMG.

But you know, think of an A45 AMG.

What is festooned all over it?

Canards and wings and badges and stickers and...

Exactly stuff.

But some of the early ones are just completely standard.

It

just looks like an A-Class.

And it was because I was behind it when I

find a photo quickly.

That is an A-Class with an AMG pack.

There would be nothing to tell me that out

was going to be spicy.

And I was thinking, that's the best getaway car.

This is a nice practical hack to find.

Full drive, right?

Four-cylinder.

Stock 330 old horsepower.

I think the early ones.

So surely at Auto as well, so no missing any gears.

Straight elbows all day.

Fine.

Easy.

And you can tune them up to 400 plus.

I'm fairly sure it must be fairly simple.

If things go bad at TDC, I'm turning to a

life of crime in one of those.

That's what I'm going for.

But I was going to ask, what's the best getaway car?

It's not easy to beat that.

Rolls Royce.

Okay.

Waffle the lightweight.

And they'll go.

There's Benjamin Rogers going away in his day.

Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.

He's hard on the wheels.

Why would someone escape a robbery in a Rolls Royce?

They go, well, of course they--

That is innocent people don't run.

This is the-- I think it was in a--

I don't remember this burn notice.

Old, really terrible show.

And it's-- he says, if you're breaking in

somewhere, don't wear a bag of clava,

because then they'll know immediately you're an intruder.

Just look normal.

Like you're supposed to be there and go,

ah, sorry.

Am I not supposed to be a real--

I'm not supposed to be here.

That's Rolls Royce Court.

Yeah.

If you turn up in a Rolls Royce,

you go, oh, of course I'm allowed to be here.

Course I am.

Exactly.

And then when you-- Where did you get it from?

I bought it.

That-- OK.

We do need the money to start.

So you're going to have to get the Rolls

Royce, but you are robbing a bank.

Have you previously robbed a bank?

I've stolen the Rolls Royce.

OK.

That works.

Fine.

Absolutely fine.

OK.

Yeah.

Don't you need to get away with a call from a

crime if you are in it.

But it would be a new one, not an old one.

Yeah.

That's perfect.

Maybe a silver shadow.

Like a phantom.

He's an old one.

You look a bit problematic already.

No, you look like there could be allegations.

You used to work in TV.

What do I do?

I rob the Mona Lisa, for example.

This is worth stealing.

OK.

I'm thinking of artwork, big heists.

I'll be honest, Ben.

When you're a robber, you're kind of your own boss.

You kind of choose what you want.

He's like freelance.

You don't go, "What's the boss got me stealing today?"

Well, I'll be gone fiver and see what jobs are available.

OK.

So I'm nicking the Mona Lisa because it's

worth a lot of money.

Of course.

I'm walking out of the front of Louvre with it.

I'm the mom.

Easy.

No one's thought.

Unopposed.

Well, if I run, they're going to chase me.

If I walk in and go, "That's just a guy."

It's like a dog.

If you run, they go on.

And then you get in the Rolls Royce and you

just waft away and they go, "He's off home."

Oh, he's just picking up his painting.

Oh, was it?

Which one was it?

It was that one.

It's sort of like sitting looking like a

looking woman can't remember.

It's a very underwhelming in real life.

Is she sad or happy?

It's just a painting.

Well, why did you, you know,

you've kept it in your collection quite well,

haven't you?

I haven't in the infinite art place.

You just wanted to see what the replica looked like.

I don't have it.

It's actually a really, this really great

small in real life.

A4.

Okay.

It's really small.

It's really small.

You know what?

More impressive than lots of detail for A4.

It's A3.

I don't know, it's not that big.

It's not that big.

So you're, I mean, we did say,

but I think we said bank robbery,

but anyway, so you're robbing the Louvre of the Mona.

Yeah, but Mona least worth like a billion.

Also, I'd do it Bain style.

Exactly.

Is that an appraisal by yourself or is that something?

That is worth about a billion pounds.

And you could, it's this big.

It's A4 size.

Name one of a thing that's A4 size.

I'm stealing from a stock exchange and I'm

going to do it.

Bain style.

What are you stealing?

I'm rocking up with a USB stick and I'm just

downloading all the money.

And then what are you escaping in?

Yeah, wow.

I suppose about 660 mil to over 1 billion dollars.

Yeah, I know.

In a stock exchange.

No, no, that's not much.

I think it's a bit more of a stock exchange.

But you show, but that's what it's worth,

but you struggle to sell it if it's sold.

Wait, what's fine with another one?

Exactly, fine with another.

You think car selling terms on art?

You'd have to go to a criminal underboss.

On eBay bid, something else on that.

100%.

You'd probably get an offer or two.

Yeah.

I think that's a good one.

Shob it in the frame.

No frame.

No frame.

You've got to do like GTS, though.

You cut it out the frame.

Okay.

30 seconds.

You can't think of it up and chuck it under your sleeve.

Okay, so you're doing a bane stock.

I like the...

Yeah, but he escaped on motorbikes,

motorbikes, which is probably a good idea,

because you can do back roads and motorbikes.

But then you'd fall off.

Could you let yourself fall to that?

Absolutely not.

Microcar?

I like that.

Yeah, I still cut faster.

Lupo 3, yeah.

I know it is.

Lupo 3, I was a good shout.

Microcar, if I'm doing a, if I'm doing a

little continental heist, sort of American

Italian job style, rather than,

you know, smashing a lift, smashing a safe

through a wall, you know, through the floor.

Oh, well, I just get into the safe quicker,

basically.

But then I'd escape in a microcar,

because I go, well, that's just a man in a

microcar in Italy.

What was to see here?

Or one of those little...

Sorry.

It's like a sort of three-wheel thing with a pick-up bed.

Did you, okay, oh, the little Piagio 8.

Yeah, but on the back is a safe.

Okay, that's what we're going to say.

with the microcar, how are you getting a few

wads of cash from in the safe,

putting them in the microcar,

driving through the drop-off,

and then coming back and going,

"I've got a microcar, I don't have expensive taste."

Okay, so you're nicking about 15 grams.

No, I haven't.

Okay.

Couple hundred quid.

It keeps feeling the microcar for a little while longer.

And because no one's caught me,

I can always go back.

But then the thing is that you might not be chased.

My real answer would be an RS6.

Smart.

D-badged.

Yeah, to look like an A6.

Yeah.

I like it.

I like it.

But it was have a pop and bang mat.

No, bangs on F.

You know what?

I want this.

I want this on note, but I came up with this

idea that I think this is a probably a UK

movie or series that it would be a getaway.

You know how in drive, where does he go?

He has an impala, a normal impala.

Yeah.

And where does he go to blend in?

You've watched drive many times.

You like it a lot.

The beginning.

Beginning.

sports event.

Right.

He parks in the garage.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Right.

I want, I want an RS3 or an S3 more like and

I've done my, I've done the,

my banking job.

No, that's what you say.

What are you seeing?

Anything.

This is, I'm saying this is a potential for a

TV show and this could be an actual thing.

Okay.

And the way that he loses the police is he

goes into Birmingham, just 30 driving and

then he gets lost among all the other 30

drivers, like too fast to furious scramble

baby and he will go, which S3 is he?

Which is he?

Golf R is he?

Well, who is that?

Could be any of them.

Who's good park in McDonald's?

This is what I mean.

I mean, if I think I reckon in our lifetime,

we'll see that as a, as a, this is how we got away.

Blended in with the car people going,

that's wicked.

Okay, that's, I don't know how we got there.

We started off talking about the Chinese car toilet.

No, I'm sorry.

We're talking about the A45.

There we go.

Sorry.

I forgot about that.

Lovely.

So A45, another good anecdote.

Well done.

Another top, top work there,

everyone.

Ben, you've got some news.

I do.

Where's it?

Great.

It's the new C-Class, apparently.

Oh, isn't this my new thing?

Have you seen this?

Ah!

This, this, you know what?

Just weeks ago, we said how,

how well Mercedes were doing.

Again, another reason that the car,

the cream podcast is shaping the automotive industry.

Mercedes listened to it and went,

"All right, mash it up.

We don't want you to play our cars anyway."

What is it with German car designers that

must make all of their midsize executive

saloons look like ours?

This is their G80 era, isn't it?

like an owl.

And then so does the I4, BMW.

So other than an owl, for our audio

listeners, what does the new C-Class,

what's it doing?

Okay, so imagine a C-Class, the front end.

Imagine a normal, did they look okay on the

front, they just car?

I quite like the new previous.

No, this is also for electric,

I must say.

So it's going to have the dumb,

like, grill.

It now has a giant grill and the,

number plate and the badge, what's it called?

The star badge?

Yes.

The star badge is just in the middle of the

grill, a bit like BMW.

have been doing and it lights up.

Do you remember the mid-2000s,

Audi A8, all of them?

The A5, the A6, A7, they all have the huge big grill.

Yeah.

Look at the outside of that,

that is that grill.

Yeah, it's very similar.

And also, because it's now got those LEDs,

but they look like slats, it's very similar design.

What you've done is nicked the Audi grill

from 10 years ago and gone Mercedes,

isn't it?

I'm going,

41:24 New Mercedes C-Class Design Critique

oh, that looks way too good.

Yeah.

That looks way too good.

Mash it out more.

The rear, you know what?

I'm going to say it.

I'm going to pull the rear up.

I don't like the shape of the car.

I think that could be an AMG version of that

I could like.

I can be okay with that.

No, I thought for a moment that was like a

hatchback, but I think that's just the weird,

because it's not, that's not very C-class,

that rear.

No, it slips down quite.

Yeah.

But when they brought out that five series GT

or whatever it was.

Yeah.

Where it's just hideous.

But it looks like someone, hang on.

Here we go.

Hang on, I say.

Hold on.

He left, didn't he?

What's that?

The designer left.

This is what we said.

Didn't he go somewhere else?

M-B-B-M-W?

Did he?

I don't think he did.

No, that's not true.

Did they do they swap places?

I don't know.

We're making up news.

But it looks, why is it?

Go back to that rear image.

That's the best.

That's as it's best.

At night, it still has the light up grill,

like the I-7 or I-5.

Just stop it, man.

I don't like any of them.

Stop with these light up grills,

because also, I see them on the motorway

every now and then.

They're an ice, or they're a distraction from your eyes.

Do this thing where we start making design

elements, LEDs.

No, that's just AliExpress as hell.

Yeah, it's horrible.

You would like the front.

The rear, please.

The rear Benjamin.

Why is it they take all okay shaped cars now

and they just make them fat?

Not like as in bigger.

I mean, imagine if all of those normal

proportions just put on a few pounds in the

worst way possible.

I would also like to know, sorry,

Mercedes, what's going on with the colour

match of your rear bumper to your rear panel?

Been in the bump, ain't it?

That's that's that.

Car Vertical got an assessment on one of those.

That is wild.

That's the car you're releasing to us.

But yeah, I absolutely hate it.

That might be my least favourite looking new

car I've seen in a long while.

If that's where they're going,

hell, just don't do that at all.

Get the old guy, but wherever he went,

getting back, not put, put, put,

please pay for front of him,

then write whatever he wants.

I have a question for you.

No.

Okay.

So, you know, there's this whole thing about

all these new like Chinese brands coming out into the.

who are taking the market away from the

classic German brands, and sure what such.

Would you two rather have that happen,

but they bring out like some,

all these new brands like Denze and you never

heard of, bring out actually cool cars,

reminiscent of like the early 2000s BMWs and

stuff you like, or that you have to do with these.

Are they electric or they're?

They're like, they're, they're cool cars,

but that doesn't help my question.

Sorry, they're like, they have engines and

they're good to drive in their sport and they

look good and you like them.

They're kind of reminiscent of what you like already.

Yeah, yeah, but they're all new brands.

And then obviously, or would you prefer?

I have no brand loyalty.

This is the thing.

So you'll be okay with that.

Look, I, I know everyone will always go like,

you guys are obsessed over BMWs.

I only like the BMWs I like,

if that makes sense.

I'm not, I won't defend every BMW.

There are some that I really don't like.

I don't care.

I don't like a first gen, one series hatchback.

I don't like them.

Even a 130 I, it's kind of cool.

I just don't like it.

Just not for me.

I won't buy one.

Because I'm a, BMWs are great.

I like them because I like the ones that are cool.

So if BMW is not making good cars,

BMW is dead to me.

Okay.

So you're fine with that.

So you're fine.

You're both on that?

I'll be sad about it because of the heritage.

Yeah.

And I'd like them to be, to,

to carry on.

But it's their choice to make bad cars.

What I'm saying is, if we keep going this

way, where all the German manufacturers are

making these ugly cars that have no soul and

we don't care about, but then the Chinese

brands come in and go, yo, I think the cool stuff.

But I think the reality is that all of the cover runs.

No, I agree.

But I'm saying, would you, would you be okay with that?

that world?

We've kind of, not necessarily Chinese

brands, but from other brands,

where it's a bit like saying,

would you go and buy a Kia Stinger over an S5

or something like that?

No, I just mean, because then you car brands

that you haven't ever heard of before,

there's no heritage to it.

I do think there's something attached to

buying an M car.

And it could be in a line of previous M3s and

you go, there's a DNA here where it drives a

particular way, even if it is modern,

it still drives like an M car.

Whereas you don't necessarily get that with a...

But they had to start somewhere.

There was someone in the 60s...

I don't want to get the safe bet.

But there was someone in the 60s going...

Imagine they said, "Oh, I don't want...

I don't want a...

not the 60s, but I don't want a new 30.

I want a Model T."

I know a Model T.

Who would never have thought any...

What, Neil?

Neil Tuckett would say.

He would shout, Neil Tuckett.

Are they comparable in era?

I just mean in terms of, like,

if you looked at cars that had heritage,

like those cars and didn't get used to it.

I'm sure this has happened before many cars.

I think it happened with Japanese cars.

Yeah.

Especially...

What I hear and obviously in the US quite

heavily, where Japanese cars came in and it

was a similar sort of thing where it's like

they're kind of deemed to be a little bit,

they were obviously cheaper,

but they were obviously quite reliable.

That's always been the thing.

But everyone prior to that was used to having

British cars or all American cars.

So there has to be some kind of culture shift eventually.

I just don't think we've ever seen it quite

as heavy as this.

No, it's an invasion.

But Japanese cars have built up a...

Again, I don't know.

I wasn't around when this stuff happened.

But Japanese cars and out there are legendary

Japanese cars.

There's entire scenes that are all about just

owning Japanese cars, Nissan,

whatever it is.

But I think that it's a different phase of

the car world where they're not coming in and

innovating from scratch.

When Japanese car makers are coming in,

cars are kind of basic and they've had all

that time to go, "Right, we're going to now

we can work up from hatchbacks all the way up

to rally cars, skylines, supercars."

Whereas I don't think that's the case.

in the 2040s, they're going to be like,

"20s China, crazy, it was popping off like that."

You should have seen the Emodor,

the things Emodor putting out.

Do you remember the X-Pang back then?

Whoa.

Cool.

Daniel Craig on the advert.

Some old James Bond bloke, but forget the

James Bond bloke.

Look how iconic that denser is.

I don't make him like this anymore.

It's just a, now you get that raw sound of

the electric motor.

You just don't hear that anymore.

Yeah, you've got on the early JG,

who you did, yeah.

They're just copying JK, aren't they?

BMW, they've been the same since.

They always try to walk it in.

I don't think that will happen.

Okay, but I'm just saying, would you live in that world?

Would I live

in it?

What's my option?

Are you okay with that?

Would you prefer it to space armor?

Yeah.

Now we have a

little ranking to do, but we'll do that later

on, but prior

to...

We have a forum apparently, from a man named...

Oh, we do.

You can name him, actually.

We've got a forum from Chris Bull.

Hello, Chris.

For our long message, I will paraphrase it.

Not crystal.

Sorry, Chris, not my name.

I've done basic commentings such as messing

with brakes, et cetera.

However, as much as I'd love to be able to do

an end to swap the sheer anxiety it would

give me to have so many connectors hosed

looms, et cetera.

I can't even see how it's possible to begin.

When engine gets removed, as I've seen many

times in your guys' video, it looks like an

absolute, (indistinct) of pipes.

How the hell do you remember where everything goes?

Is it having a damn good memory?

Are there any tips that you guys can give?

Take photos along the way and label things.

Label thing, I remember a car threat with the golf.

The golf?

Edwin and Jack from the older gear now

labeled one of the pipes, a big blue in the

front and big brown in the back.

Do you know what?

I still remember what they were.

That one of them was the Kjet,

the warm up plug, the other one I think was

an injector loom harness.

But yes, memory comes into it,

the more you do it, if you're a specialist on

a car like we go and take cars to specialist

all the time, they'll take an engine apart

and go, they won't just know where the

connectors go, they'll know what each bolt is.

They can pick up a bolt and go,

that is going to

49:17 Engine Swap Tips and Organization Advice

be the camshaft, like the bolt that goes in the cam.

That is the camshaft.

I know what this bolt is, no waste.

Imagine I entered your kitchen and I didn't

know where any of the cutlery was or the mugs.

There you go.

Because you've learnt.

Now, the realistic thing is,

the first time is very scary.

Just like most first times, they're a bit scary.

But when you come out the other side

of it, you probably have a bit of fun.

So, no, but there,

it does get scary.

I still get scared of putting bolts in bags altogether.

I still have to use kitchen ziplock bags and

write on them what that bolt is for.

Because if I put them all together,

I will forget where they go.

But how do you label that?

Part you've taken it off of.

So say I'm taking the alternator off and

there's three different layers of bolts.

Okay, interesting.

Layers.

No, what do you just put on?

Say you're taking a part off that has,

it's got, you take these three bolts off and

then there's like another piece you've got to

remove and then there's another three bolts.

How do you label those?

So you just had three bolts come off and a

little piece comes off of the alternator.

That goes in a bag.

So those are together.

So it's not all, not everything from that component.

It's just that little section.

I will break it down into even those components.

I'll break it down crazy.

Give me a bounce floor.

Yeah, because I will forget and I'll start

putting bolts in the wrong place.

And then that's when cars, you always see it.

Someone will engine swap a car and afterwards

they'll just constantly have teething issues.

It won't run right, things will fall off,

things will break.

It's because they don't go back where they

supposed to be.

If you do things by the book,

how they were originally, the car will work.

That's how they work from the factory.

They're bolts and nuts and it will work.

It's fine.

But just get very organized.

That's all I will say.

That's the best part.

The worst thing you can do is get yourself

into a mess where you've got parts everywhere.

Because also a lot of the time,

we're lucky we're doing it almost as a job

where we know you're doing it in a week,

you're doing it in a couple of days.

But for the same as how I did my Clio,

same as when you would have done your M5,

you're doing it on weekends,

you're doing it on evenings,

you're probably spreading it out over three months.

I hope you're not spreading it out too much.

But you're doing it in your spare time.

So let's say you do it on a weekend.

you're going to do a week of work or two

weeks of work, you've got a weekend where you

do something else and then you come back to

it and you go, shit.

Where does that, because there's also,

you will find lots of bots that look the

same, but some of them are different lengths

and some of them are different,

they're meant to go in a different place and

they have, or it's a specific bolt that's

meant to be for the gearbox,

it's not meant to be for the engine,

it's worth taking the time so you do it right

rather than having to redo it a million times

or having to buy bolts.

Take videos as well, you can mark bolts,

that's the other thing you can do.

It's good lad.

I'll be honest though, that is most of the

reason why the 850 sits because I took half

the engine apart and then it sat because I

got busy for work and at six months went past

and I went, I have not a single clue where

those bolts go and now I'm scared.

The internet is your friend.

Yes, very much so.

For most cars out there, someone's done it before.

Or if it isn't on the internet,

go speak to a specialist, some specialists

are not very keen on telling people stuff,

but some are pretty good, they can guide you

in the right direction if you're doing it

yourself, where to buy, because if you're

taking an engine out, you're probably not

taking it out to put it straight back in,

you're probably going to be fixing something,

doing something.

So you're going to be buying parts and using

forums, Facebook groups, whatever it is,

because these things like talk specs,

important.

Yeah, on the engine stuff, you can't just go

like doing everything up hand tight for no reason.

It might last a little while,

but when I was doing the Clio,

that was doing head bolts, how to do it

properly and then you find a forum post for

someone says, "This is how I've done it.

This is the way to do it now."

The internet is your friend and YouTube as well.

Yeah, YouTube is incredibly helpful for that stuff.

I will say Facebook forums now are,

you will find lots of old information on

proper car forums, the ones specifically for

your car or engine, but nowadays,

Facebook groups are a godsend.

And I think because nine times out of 10

people's own face and name is against their

profile, you don't get the snarky,

shitty responses that you used to get on

forums of people just shouting into the void

about how much of a clown you are.

Whereas now, you ask a question that someone

will go, "M, I like doing this myself.

Here's how you do it.

Oh, I tried this.

Oh, here's a tip."

Facebook forums are very good for that sort of stuff.

I'd also allow yourself some time.

Allow yourself some time to do it properly.

I always put off doing any major work to a

car because I didn't have the space to do it

because I was just operating out of a flat

car part basically.

So I didn't have a garage to go and do it in.

So you don't, I'd almost not doing that in a car park.

One, it's probably not the right place to do

it in terms of like, you want to do it in a nice car.

Clean environment.

But you also want the time to do it.

So you're not feeling pressured.

Like, I need to move this.

If you start something on a Saturday,

you know, I need this to run by Monday.

You're already putting yourself at like a

major disadvantage because it's going to

really mess you up.

When I did the Clio, I was kind of happy to

do it because I was like, I don't need this car.

Yeah.

This is a project car.

I can leave it, put parts on a driveway,

parts in the garage or leave the engine in

the garage and I can chip away as and when

the time pressure and or needing to be out of somewhere.

Or something like that is not not nice.

I can't remember.

Was it your RS replica where we did the

exhaust on my driveway on Jack stands and we

took the whole exhaust apart and this was on

a Sunday at like two in the afternoon and we

did the exhaust off, went to put the new

exhaust on, found it wouldn't fit.

And Will was like, I have to drive this home.

It's like the worst feeling and like no parts

stores are open and you're like,

great.

So I've just wasted a day.

I have to try and hope and put this in.

And I think it was the clamp was broken on it.

So we couldn't even put the original exhaust

back on properly.

Yeah.

It drains the fun instantly.

Yeah.

You just hate it.

And then you either rush to fix it or you

bodge it and then it then it goes on over

weeks and weeks and it just makes you really hate.

Again, these things are going to happen.

It's not all going to go smoothly.

These things will happen.

You're going to get forced to do it.

But the only thing I could probably say as

well, despite all of those things that we've

said is in the end, just decide to just do it.

Yeah.

Yeah.

changes with the Clio one.

I was like, "Do I just pay someone to do it?"

And it's mad expensive.

Then one day I was just like,

"Do you know what?

Let me just Google how to do this and then

just just start doing it."

And then there's no way, there's no way,

there's no way backups that.

Well, that, I was about to say,

there is a great trend on Instagram at the

moment that is, do you want to know how to do

something, get so far deep into it that your

only option is to work out how to do it?

That, that is working on cars.

You get, you decide to go for it,

you break something, you go,

"Well, I have to work out how to fix this now."

And then the next time you do it,

you go, "I'll be able to do that."

Like, Ben, do you, do you think without us

here, you could fumble your way through doing

S2000 coilovers?

Yes.

Yeah, I could.

But if I asked you, if I said right now,

pull the engine on your S2000,

you'd be like, "Oh, I can't do that."

I can break it out.

Back in, no chance.

Do you always struggle with that?

No, nothing, nothing back from there.

Let's just carry the book off.

Okay, lovely.

So good, good forum question.

All right, that's a good question.

It's a, you gotta take a dive,

man.

I want to take a moment.

Okay.

To compliment you on how nice you look today.

Thanks, Ben.

I wish I could say the same.

Is it something I've done with my hair?

No, it's something you've done with your midsection.

Shall I?

You've seen them?

Okay.

We have got you, you might have seen,

we've mentioned it before, we've started on a

new line of TDC much.

Again, cream merch is coming.

It's in the work.

It's coming.

But we wanted to focus on TDC stuff first.

So we had a black T-shirt sweatshirt and

hoodie with like a black stealth logo,

black on black, black on black,

a load of you were like, yeah,

I don't like, I want more colors.

Fair enough.

We've done the switch over.

So we did back in the day on TV,

we switched the color TVs on and they've done that.

Here we are.

So will you're in a, I'm in a Air Force blue,

I believe you might call it with a white stitching.

So it's very similar to the black.

Well, it's exactly the same as the black one.

But these hoodies are, they are remarkable.

They're heavy weight.

There's no draw strings.

They've got a little pocket for 10 millimatts.

Just like, because we got these day,

like that's not, that's not pork noodle sauce.

No, not at all.

That's not.

I'm wearing the stone one, which has like a

matching kind of bronzey color.

That's not pork noodles on my.

I'm wearing this one, which I don't think

we're going to sell.

No, yeah.

Because it's quite a summary and vibrant.

And mine has no stains because I am an adult

that can eat my lunch without spilling it.

Yeah, sure.

Boring.

So yours is like baby blue.

And then over there, we've got like a dark

green and my favorite one is like a cream

with a, yeah, sure.

It's kind of brown, kind of not brown.

You know what it is?

I'm wearing the brown brush.

Yeah, it is.

I've got like a darker brown insert and then

like a light brown.

Yeah, look

58:14 TDC Hoodie Merch Announcement

at that.

That one's fantastic.

That is, it's like a proper cream with a brown TV.

I like that a lot.

These two are my vibe.

I like these colors.

We heard your cries for different colorways.

So these, I think in this and sweaters,

I don't think we have t-shirts in them,

but we will have a white on white stealth.

So yeah, white tees for the summer.

Lovely.

I'm not just saying this because it's our merch.

Genuinely, these hoodies.

Unbelievable.

Then the quality.

They take pork stain sauce like you would--

They do place titties to noodle consuming children.

They

can't-- Because-- You'd be wearing those for

possibly 40

minutes.

Yeah, they're kind of-- [LAUGHTER]

[INAUDIBLE]

Shout out working a market from the ones I missed.

What have we got next?

Next up is Will's Granddad.

That's just a shout out to Michael.

So we're going back to the--

Right.

Go back to the most you long ago in the auction.

Finn doesn't know about this.

So as we said, three generations of childhood air.

Will, would your Granddad besmirch me to say

that he's quite eccentric?

Yeah, I'd say a little.

Just a tad.

Just so you're aware, he arrived wearing

shorts and a cap.

That had a, what do you call it?

A sticker.

A sticker on the top of the brim of the hat

that had handwritten on it.

My name is Mike.

Now, was there a reason for that?

I don't know.

There surely is.

I don't know what it is.

Okay, of course.

Now, after Will had won the cart,

the auction, he quite she officially went up

to the table to say, "Do I have to pay for this now?"

And while that was happening,

Patrick and I were kind of standing around

like talking about the car, looking over at

Will's granddad with one of his free drinks

tokens with a water drink.

And I've got a photo here.

You can see he just went and placed the drink

on inside the engine cover of the lacy logo

on quite like a tilt.

It was on the piss of it.

And he's not in the photo, but a guy just off

to the right.

No idea.

Obviously, no idea that this is Will's granddad.

This just looks like an older gentleman has

just gone and put his, his drink on a car

that has do not touch plastered all over it.

And the guy, the guy went over and went,

I don't, I don't think you're,

I don't think he's supposed to do that.

And when he was granddad, just kind of raised

his hand and went, I don't

know.

And we, he took a step back and just,

and I really wish I got a photo of it.

He just stared in, in like, in upset,

in upset amazement at this man,

who just openly just put a, a drink,

a full to the brim drink, on top of the

engine bay of a very expensive car.

And Patrick, again, got a, sorry,

Patrick got this photo.

And then we've got what your granddad

put in your group chairs, like a family group chat.

He just sent the picture.

And so there's also that's the picture that's there.

The other picture is him taking that picture.

So this is not an inception.

That was just said, was it expensive cocktail table?

Expensive cocktail table.

Yeah, which is fair.

Which is a situation it is.

It's very expensive cocktail table.

Is one of my favorite humans on this planet.

I love him.

He seriously regretted not bidding on a jag

that was there as well.

There was an old jag that was there and he

doesn't need more things to add.

But for perspective, one of my favorite

stories about Will's granddad is we went to a

collecting cars, meet once, which is almost

exclusively Porsche 911s.

Will your granddad not fan of 911s?

Not the biggest fan.

And I said to Will, has a nice 930 there in

front of the owner and the owner turned

around and smiled at me.

And Will's granddad went, no,

it's not, it's rubbish.

And I watched the, the happy,

the strain from this man's face.

He was just wandering around.

We were quite sort of rooted in one spot.

And he just keep, he just, he just wanders

off and he'd wander off.

And then he saw some car sale.

I can't remember what it was.

And then he came back and he said,

I can't, it doesn't even have a radio.

It's just really loud, loud enough for most

of the people bidding to hear.

Yeah, there'll be, there's probably plenty

more stories of that.

But that one, that's up there.

I kept laughing about the drinks.

All the way home.

Patrick and I were pissing ourselves.

Cause this man was just, he decided like,

he basically decided after being shot by it

to keep watch in case it got worse.

He just kind of stood on the sideline,

amazed going, no, you can't,

you can't do that.

All it would have taken is from to say,

look, my grandson's just agreed to buy this

car, he's won it.

It's okay.

It's kind of still not okay.

Cause I know the money's not,

it's not really bought.

It's not your car yet.

It's not really, but still, I mean,

it makes it slightly more

1:03:00 Will's Granddad at Auction Incident

understandable, but he just thought,

no, I don't care.

He then also stood, there was a,

there's a, one of the indicators is slightly,

it's slightly loose on one side.

And again, once the auction had finished and

he realized it was me, he just walked up to

it and started trying to push it back in.

He was trying to fix it.

And there were people just staring like,

what is that old man doing?

And it wasn't like a general push.

He was like, properly involved looking around

the bodywork to see if he could get it to

life back up.

Play with people like, did he buy this?

This man, his cap says, his name is Mike.

But anyway, that was quite funny.

I did laugh a lot.

Shall we do it?

We have some more anecdotes.

No, we won't.

We'll do a top 10.

Have that little attention for you.

There's a top 10 coming.

But we have a couple of small things to get through.

You've said here, Benjamin, something that

should interest me, but might not.

Revuelto SV Spyshots.

There would be some spy shots of what is

believed to be the Revuelto Lamborghini.

Don't know why I did that round.

SV.

Track Focus, Bigger Body Kit.

It looks like a Man's Sorry Kit.

Yeah.

Also, this is maybe showing my age,

but if I saw

that, I would just think that is a normal

Revuelto that has

had a wrap on it.

I can't identify.

I think I'm becoming an

old man.

I can't tell you what's not original on that.

It's

a side skirts and the front bumper has like a

weird that

those triangle bits in the front bumper.

I would guess that's an event.

Yeah, it's not.

I wouldn't guess that is an event.

is what I think I do know a little bit more than man.

But also this system of so they,

it's a deliberate.

They've been deliberately driving this around

because I don't, my Italian's not great,

but (speaks in foreign language) would be

attention fast car for, or fast.

(speaks in foreign language) Is that a machine?

I don't know.

I think it's car.

Yeah, I think it's car.

Attention, I'm quite fair.

Fair,

absolutely.

So that'll be an SV.

And then I assume there

would be an SVJ.

(mumbles) Diablo, then I'd have the SV.

Yeah, the most of the longer we had the SV.

Now, a vent at all, we've added the SVJ.

So now surely we now need to have the SVJ,

the SVJ, and then like the SVJM.

Just add another letter.

Just another one in there.

Another one, 'cause SVJ is Jota.

Yes.

Which was a word.

It was an SVJ wasn't.

Jota was a mirror.

But there was a mirror SV.

And a mirror Jota.

And a mirror Jota.

So they were separate things.

So now they went, ooh, how about,

mix them up.

Super fast Jota.

It might have been a mirror SV Jota.

So maybe it is nerds, let us know.

What a hair conspiracy.

It's, was it a 10, a 10s, what does it say?

Yeah, he's words, he's all right.

On the bonnet, what does that say?

I can't say anything.

Something along the lines of attention,

fast car.

But while the two bottom woods end something?

Oh, I can have a lot J.

What if it's an MV?

It's an MV.

Oh, good stuff, Ben.

I can't call it fast car.

Because it's SV for Super the Lot J,

right?

No, I'm not having that.

So hold on.

But then it's no longer Super mate.

This isn't a Super.

This is just a car.

Oh, fast.

So what if, hang on, what?

I bet that goes fast.

I can't see it for here.

So I don't know what it says.

It just says Macad of a Lot J.

How's that spell?

M-A-C-A.

So Mac China.

That's actually very helpful.

There you go.

And then for Lot J.

But it should mean car.

Machine.

I think they use it for car.

Fast machine.

From this fast car.

Yeah, it's the translation.

That's just a Google translate.

So Italians, let us know.

Italian is the only, I'm fairly sure.

Yeah.

I'll connect the dots.

Yeah.

I reckon it means have a look.

Come on.

Actung.

It means roll up, roll up.

Oh, you've got a mad motor over here doing

English version.

Wait.

Oh, it's speedy motor.

Jim's getting on my phone card.

That'll be great.

The thing I like is that the fact that the

event store, right?

It looked pretty mental, but it had this

lovely balance of looking crazy,

but also still being quite clean to the fans.

Whereas the Revuelto, which I can't say,

is it already looks like a mandatory car.

So you're adding more big bits to it.

It doesn't now feel different.

But I think that's now the way it's going,

which is why I think are, you know,

if you look at the 2000s, Mansrey was the

anecdote, which was go mental as opposed to

like the clean looking cars,

1:07:22 Current Car Design Trends

whereas now our anecdote is the restomod.

It's the old car that's made to look smooth

and all that sort of stuff.

That's what it's supposed to be,

I think.

It just doesn't make me feel anything.

I don't know.

Over of Vuelta never made me feel anything in

the fast race.

So they'd have to do something serious.

But they'll also, or Vuelta is already what,

1000 and a million horsepower.

So where do you go with that?

And then you're going to do an SVJ and I

assume there'll be a roadster somewhere down the line.

Yeah, why is that not how yet?

Well, yeah, it's a good point.

It feels like that should be something you

should be on, unless they don't sell.

No, I don't know.

Surely, people...

Surely, Marbaia Folkour, absolutely.

Yeah, surely.

Get me the roof off and get me a really crap

rose to put back on.

Also needed because sounds.

Yeah.

But I've felt that it just doesn't...

The front I don't mind so much,

the rear is...

The rear is...

I look forward to seeing it in the flesh.

I'm glad that Lamborghini is still making V12s.

Yeah.

That's what I will say.

Lamborghini, listen.

Would you say you're open to trying one?

Look, I'd certainly be willing to be willing.

I'd be willing to be proved wrong.

Okay, Edwin, you?

I just don't care.

Would you give it a go?

I'd certainly have a go.

Yeah, if they could...

I'd daily it for a week.

Really?

You want one on track or...?

Damn it.

All right.

A few twat laps of Knightsbridge and back,

I think.

Yeah, no, there's no feelings towards that,

which is upsetting to me.

Perhaps there are some children listening.

Okay.

Perhaps we've got to carry on with that.

I don't know.

They can tell us whether they feel something towards it.

Or perhaps if you have children who like

cars, can you ask them if they feel anything towards it?

Show them it.

give them no prior anything and just say,

what do you think of this?

And then type those exact words into the

comment box, as long as they're legal.

Benjamin?

Yes.

A weekly occurrence for you.

Yes.

One more attempt at the video guest.

Okay.

Sorry for reference.

We, Edwin and I have a video idea that we

both know it's roughly similar,

but we haven't, we're doing it individually.

We don't, we've individually come up with

those ideas and it is now Ben's term to have a guess.

If he gets it right, we will reveal it.

And it has to be exact.

The only thing I know is that these two,

both individually count on this idea

themselves and then they won't tell you

exactly what it is, but they both kind of

know and somehow involves me.

I don't know how that works.

So do you want me to repeat that the third

time the

exact same way?

Yeah.

Can we get one again in sort of maybe

Chinese for our sponsor?

Do you want to try to help you out?

Okay.

Last week I asked you if it's a,

you're going to build a car?

I choose the mods for that car,

which I think we'll still be quiet.

I think it's a good idea.

I'm going to just do a check out a couple of have it.

I wanted to say what I want to do this week.

Said you are fully ready for this.

Okay.

This time you're going to race each other

somewhere and I had to choose where you go.

No.

Anyway.

Is it close?

No.

So we've been in the newspaper recently.

We have made the papers.

TDC has made the papers and it is a lupo that

has done it.

Now it's the boys down in the car.

It's not the time.

It's not, I don't know what big

1:10:33 TDC in the Dutch Media

newspapers are in the UK.

I don't know what good ones are.

People are going to get sensitive about that.

It's not a newspaper in the UK.

It is in the Netherlands and it is a

regional one.

Yes.

But nonetheless, we are in the papers.

We're in the papers and we got contacted by a

journalist from Holland who said,

I'd like to write about you in our paper.

Can I?

Can I get some quotes?

And so we gave some quotes.

And they made it in.

Ben, are you aware of this?

You were there helping us concoct the quotes.

I was there when you made the quotes,

but I didn't ever hear anything about it.

We wanted our quotes to be not making fun at all.

We wanted them to be eccentric.

We thought it'd be funny.

And I have translated, not myself.

I don't speak good enough for a Dutch to do that.

Someone commented about that.

Why don't you do it in Dutch?

Because I can't.

I think you speak good Dutch.

Well, about the lupo, right?

And it was in Dutch.

Better than us.

Well, what I said, Ben, was,

"Hi, my Dutch isn't very good.

Do you mind if we speak English?"

And the guy said, "Yeah, obviously,

we all speak English."

I'd say that in English.

And if he doesn't speak in English,

we'd be

having a problem.

That would be a problem.

Now, I have

translated most of it, just using Chad.

But it's a lot of her explaining the video

for maybe most of the people who have got no

idea what YouTube even is letting them ask.

But we've got the Lupo itself.

This is a quote from me.

The Lupo itself isn't that rare,

but in the UK, we were never blessed with the

efficient 3L model.

We took that almost

personally.

So it was time to take action,

says Edwin.

The Lupo is staying with them.

It's a fantastic addition to our

YouTube channel.

The creator says,

they're fast Aliarasix and their open

quotation marks, Ninky Nong.

A microcard that they've used for things like

driving through a safari park and racing a

tandem bike through London.

So she's watched.

Shout out Angelique.

She went out and watched the whole thing.

Which means she typed the YouTube Ninky Nong.

Yep.

The Lupo is set to become a true gem,

open quotation marks.

We've got to fully restore and improve the

cart so we can ensure it so we can enjoy it

for many more miles in the UK.

So shout out to the old Dutch media and we

took that almost personally.

I think the way I wrote it was and we took

that personally.

She didn't tell you that personally.

Almost.

Let's give it a little bit of a kiss.

I can't do that personally.

Look at that.

That's us in the newspaper.

If you're Dutch and you can get that,

please let us know.

We'd love to get that framed and have that in

the unit somewhere.

We'd also like to hire a publicist now.

We're famous.

Well, you've already got a couple.

Yeah, of course.

But you guys didn't want to.

You own the company.

You're not using my people.

You own the media.

You must

have run that print.

You must have approved that.

Today's

news tomorrow or whatever it is.

Save the list for next week.

Hopefully we will have some more mercy news

for you next week.

God, I hope so.

Shout out to the creamers.

Thank you very much for listening.

Thank you for helping make this sort of stuff possible.

We genuinely do love you.

It's a big cream week.

It truly is.

I love money.

Will is going to personally thank each and

every one of you at Shed first.

Every single one.

Even the ones that aren't there.

Cream get the money.

Mercy, Mercy Me, that Mercy Elago.

Gotcha.
