0:00 Introduction and Rule or Ruin
Oh wait, it's in.
No, it's not.
I hate it.
I hate it.
I actually hate it.
I don't want to do this anymore.
Yeah.
I hope that doesn't mess with Prime Mash Day.
And they went,
hang on.
Prime Mash has a whole week.
It's a week.
There
will be a V12 Lamborghini in my life.
Delectable.
Yeah.
Delectable.
And in six to sort of seven years,
you're going to be dead.
Hello, and welcome back to the 71st Cars Rule
Everything Around Me podcast with myself,
Edwin, William, to my left, Ben,
both behind and in front of the camera.
Hello, I'm both.
There you go.
That was a nice dream.
Before we start the podcast,
we always answer the question whether Cars
Rule or Ruin everything around us this week.
William.
Rule.
It's a rule.
No massive reason to ruin the Clio is off to
call my own road sport.
Having, it's actually had its time about
gearboxes being rebuilt.
It's a quick diff going in.
There's many cool things going on that car.
I've just got to get some other parts together.
Also been ordering parts for real drive
conversion on the Glado.
That's a big, really looking forward to.
I'm going to do a video on that.
So yeah, no real Range Rover's Mac working.
CL is working.
CL haven't talked about it.
Yeah, I said it last week.
I sold it.
Okay.
Goodbye, mate.
But that is sold.
That is gone and the Mégane is for Gazy.
It's so easy.
It's so easy.
One day it might exist.
It will come back eventually.
So yeah.
I'm going to talk through my things and then
I'm going to choose at the end because it's
up and down.
Okay.
First things first, the second Clio video
will be out by now.
Yes.
Yes.
So you've seen that we got the car started.
It was a bit rushed for that video.
So it wouldn't go into reverse.
It wouldn't go into fifth gear.
The throttle cable snapped.
So we basically drove it out on idle.
So it wasn't that good.
Also, it didn't have an O2 sensor plug so it
was quite rich.
So I spent this last weekend doing a load of
little bits and pieces for that.
That was good.
However, tomorrow you will see my E36,
the silver one that we posted about pretty recently.
It had an issue.
It's been stuck in the unit next door.
And there's, I tried to fix it yesterday on the weekend.
It didn't work.
We tried to fix it today.
It didn't work.
It needs almost.
It was progress.
Yeah, it was a little bit of progress.
It's still the same.
So overall, I'm going to say ruin because
additionally, we sold our Ferrari 355.
You're going to see that in a video coming
soon, which is quite funny.
We took it to an auction.
A dodgy auction.
Yeah, no, it was interesting.
It was a rough auction, yeah.
Shout out, make it actually perfect.
Perfect integration.
You'd think we planned it.
This podcast is sponsored by Car Vertical yet again.
And it nearly made me buy a car,
Curse You Car Vertical.
We went to this auction.
We had a look around and it was a lot of tap.
It was like real tap, like 100 pound Yaris' and things.
And just in the back, just like snuck away
was this long wheelbase Audi A8 It would be
like a 2009.
It was a '07 with the 4.2 diesel V8.
I was like, oh, that's nice.
And Will had said it in the car when we were
on the way.
It was like, that's kind of a cool idea.
And then it had the speed line wheels and it
was a long wheelbase.
And it was a nice spare and then it was grain-tight.
It was grain.
And I was like, oh, this could be good.
I was praying.
I was like, let me run a covert corner.
And hopefully it's damaged.
And I can say, I know.
I came back.
It was just mint.
Yeah.
It had a lot of, you may not know that covert
corner can also sometimes pull the spec of a car.
So it will show you all of the options it was
listed through.
And so I was going through them and had a
load of really good options as well.
And I was like, I don't, I really don't want
to buy it.
And then it started up and drove past us in the auction.
It did not sound good.
No, it sounded unhappy.
Yeah.
So shout out to Car Vertical.
Thank you very much for sponsoring this episode.
As always, if you guys are looking to buy a
van, a motorbike or a car, make sure that
you're on a car vertical check because nine
times out of 10, it will unearth something
that you weren't expecting.
And you don't want to be finding things
unexpected when you're buying a big purchase
like a car.
If it turns out the car's great and great,
it was worth buying, but we've had a few
occasions where a lot, we've really dodged a
bullet, you can get discounts.
If you're buying multiple cars this year,
if you know that this year you're going out
there, you're buying multiple cars or your
friends are buying multiple cars as well,
you can get discounts on bundles up to 50% in some cases.
And then you can get 20% off your next check
if you use our discount code,
cream.
The next time you're buying a car,
use our discount code, support the podcast.
always use a car vertical check to unearth

4:52 Ben's Daily Issues with Golf Leaks
in a car's past.
300 and something plus the fees,
so you're probably almost a grand.
But make sure you tune into that episode
because that is going to be,
that's the, yeah, it was tough.
That was not a great episode for us.
But it's a car gone.
Hey, it's another car gone, car off.
We're clearing the books so that we can focus
on the big ones.
I know a lot of you getting upset that we
weren't doing that.
Ben, you're mean?
I have an idea as to what it's going to be.
Ruin.
Yeah, what is that?
Yeah, car.
Now, would you like to know something,
Ben?
I was keeping track of the things you said.
Explain what you just did.
We were supposed to start this podcast at,
well, I mean, I'd say we finished about five o'clock.
Well, no.
And then right now it's just turning eight,
eight p.m.
Actually, originally, I was going to do a podcast line.
No, no, we said, like, you know,
you could get this job that you need to do on
your card on.
It's a half an hour job.
It's like a bumper off.
Just quick bumper off, play something.
Yeah.
And then back on.
Yeah.
I'm currently going for the process of trying
to fix every place that my golf leaks from,
which is about all of them.
All of them leaks into leaks in the boot.
But anything you do on these golf stages
leak, there's like their biggest down down something?
Downfall, that's one.
Downside.
So the big, I have got, I haven't got a pool
of water, but a little bit of water on the boot.
So.
You've got like someone's just starting to
like go for a water feature.
Yeah.
They're just getting the base of it ready.
I don't want rust.
I don't want water on my boot for mold.
I don't know that.
So I thought, let's prep, prep,
proactively.
That's the one.
Try and fix it.
So one of the biggest things is that there
are, I think I call it pressure relief vents
in the room.
So behind the bumper, you got these little like flaps.
And it's so when you slam a door,
I was like, it's got to go somewhere.
So it relieves the air.
And from fact, it just don't fit like you can
wiggle them about.
So when the spray from the motorway of water
comes off the back of your tire,
it goes behind your bumper and then just
seeps into your boot.
Lovely.
So what people say you do by brand new vents,
when you put them in, silicone them around.
Lovely.
Easy job.
Easy job.
It does involve stripping the entire of the
boot trims down and then taking the lights
out and then taking the bumper out off.
And it is a bit of a pain, but I already
struggled with it.
Now I regret it.
Well, here's the thing.
So Ben came into this room.
to start on this job.
Now Will and I were next door doing some research.
And at first it was all, it sounded great,
but there was like clicking,
there was ratcheting.
It was going like a movie well.
You know, like a movie when they're doing car
stuff and they're just, it just shots them.
You have indies.
I haven't told you this.
I guess there were three different socket sizes.
I guess each of them by looking at them
perfectly each time.
I was thinking like, this is too easy.
Well, that means Ben.
It's not a guess.
You're starting to believe.
I think it was a guess.
goals overall, with a whole boot strip down
with the lights out and they got taken a bump
off, then it was, well, then at that point,
you got an audience and you weren't a fan of them.
I got most of them off and I kept finding
more bolts and I kept finding more clips.
I just couldn't get it off.
Well, it was at that point that we decided to
come in and have a look as well as Patrick on
social media.
And he, Ben wasn't a fan of that.
No.
There's the mood shifted quite quickly to Ben
being, because I mean, Ben was struggling,
but it went away from, there was heckling.
There was heckling.
Of course, Patrick helped those,
shout out Patrick.
I'm sorry, we helped.
Patrick was honest.
And he would
8:03 Will's Oil Concerns and Cold Start Issues
still be, would still be attached to the car as well.
You did help when the bumper came off.
Yeah, but getting them.
But there was like two bolts,
two bolts.
Which one was those?
Which one was those?
The ones that you couldn't get off.
They were seeing the holes, then slammed a
tool down on the ground, said,
I'm not doing this.
I'm putting it back together.
No, no, please.
I looked at it and put the correct size tool in.
But you had.
I had it.
And undid it.
Well, this is what I, this is what I did.
I decided it might be worth keeping track of
some of the things Ben says.
Of course he does.
Of course he did that.
Because I had no idea he'd done this.
I know, yeah, no, I know he didn't.
Because you enter it with so much glee,
like we said before, but I don't think
anybody listening understands how angry you get.
Now, deck, editing this, you're going to need
to please bleep the swears because I need to
add them for it to feel kind of real.
I do want to say something.
I'm actually, I'm not that much of an angry person.
I think I'm pretty sure that person most
things, but cars really get me.
Okay.
Yeah, but for anything else,
I'm fine.
Get a stab at him.
I get a little bit like he's in the drunk tag.
I get a little five amp.
I get exasperated on the starter motor.
I get a little bit exasperated sometimes at
things, but I don't get angry at really anything.
I'm like, but cars, I feel it's raging me
when it doesn't work.
Let's hear these lines.
So I'm intrigued.
So I've got, first thing here,
quietly to himself, that doesn't work like that.
It doesn't work at all.
Don't talk to me for a minute.
I have to think.
Why in the coin it go in?
Oh, wait, it's in.
No, it's not.
I hate it.
I hate it.
I actually hate it.
I don't want to do this anymore.
Can you please just put
this wheel on for me?
I don't care anymore.
Now, that was said, when you weren't able to
put the wheel on the car.
And then what did we do?
I just told you how to put wheel
on the car.
Do you want the most known part about that?
I was.
I thought at the time, it really annoyed me.
Was that what you told me to do was exactly
what I'd been doing.
But for some reason, when you explain it to
me, I just did it perfectly the first time.
But I've been doing exactly what you said.
Now, this one is my favorite by far.
I don't want to do this.
I give up.
I give up.
I give up.
I give up.
They were five.
They were four.
I give up.
Oh my God.
Will ask for a time update.
Ben's a response.
You can feel free to go home.
Now, that was said, I'd say three to four times.
Yeah, because we were, okay,
we have a guest podcast tomorrow.
Right?
Yeah.
Won't.
I can't come to that.
Also, speaking of that, extra podcasts from now on.
Yes.
Now, no longer is a guest podcast going to be
on a Thursday.
We're going to do that on a Tuesday.
Yep.
And it'll be an extra podcast for you.
So when we have a guest, you get an extra
podcast in the week.
Every Thursday is the trio creaming.
Yep.
On a Tuesday, a guest comes into cream.
Sometimes.
Sometimes.
Not every Tuesday, every Tuesday.
Chases on which we choose days.
Shall we aim for once a month?
May we choose days.
May we choose days.
May we choose days.
And not make promises.
That's all the good days for us.
The Thursday is tough enough for us to make that happen.
But shout out to Creamers.
Shout out.
Giving you extra beans.
I'm not at this podcast filming tomorrow.
Of course you're not, 'cause it's a guest.
I can't be there.
I'll be getting grief all week for this.
And because of that, I said,
we decided this, we said we're gonna do more
podcasts, right?
And then you guys said, well,
we could do it Wednesday, we could do it today.
And then they went, now what it's like.
I was like, all right, cool.
But I started this.
Paul.
Paul's.
Paul's.
Paul's.
I said about five o'clock, 'cause we managed
to get everything else done that we needed today.
We could do the podcast tonight,
if you put your car up on the list and you
get it done.
And Ben said, that's a great idea.
No, like, let's do the podcast tonight,
I'll do the car.
Well, I was thinking, 'cause I know on
Wednesday night, we do a longer day.
But then, it later on, it became,
why didn't so much do it Monday?
I didn't say it, I agreed.
There's a difference here.
You suggested I agreed.
Well, well, well, if it isn't gaslighting,
Ben, back at the manipulation.
No gaslighting, back at the manipulation.
Back at the manipulation.
(laughing)
The last thing, because I was like,
no one's making us do it tonight.
We could do it another night,
but then we already agreed to.
I think it was you.
Yeah, yeah, I decided, yeah.
These guys had been sat around for an hour
waiting for me, so we decided,
but I did eventually be like,
you can go home if you want.
The problem is, is that we did figure,
when you said what the job was,
it was taking the red bumper off,
changing a couple of vents, putting it back
on, we thought, hour.
Yeah, that's like, hour and a half,
an absolute push.
What I thought was 20 minute job for a normal
person, for me, out makes it a 45 minute job,
'cause I'm an idiot, so I reckon Ben's gonna
be about an hour.
Thought, longer thought it was a three and a
half hour job.
It wasn't three and a half hours at all.
I would say you've begun bringing the car in
here around about a half, four quarter to five.
It was five o'clock when you started the job.
We started this podcast at eight.
Yeah.
Yeah, no, that's understandable.
In that, I'll call it, I'll go into hours 45.
Let's go, let's round the shop.
Let's meet in the middle.
I'm happy with that.
I'm not because it took two hours 45.
So overall, is it ruined just for that or any
other reasons?
Oh yeah, oil.
Yeah.
Yeah, no, it's a weird one.
So the oil machine--
In your S2000.
Oh, the S2000, which is now in storage.
They're just famously--
I can't, I don't use anymore.
No.
That's waiting around for--
So sorry, the oil issue is not with the S2000.
No, the S2000 actually, it might have,
I haven't seen it for a few weeks,
but it is, it might have worked.
It's still gold.
S2000 storage, the Golf, I had the other day,
I went to see my dad.
No way.
I was on the motorway for a while.
Shout out, will, shout out Ben's dad,
who I know is listening.
Shout out my dad, he does like this to the podcast.
I like to go see him, and I've been on the
motorway for a while, and suddenly I get a
bing, that's a weird thing in my car,
to have this car's meant to be reliable,
check oil level.
It's like, okay, now I know GTD's gone out.
How much poo fell out?
Well, because I remember Adam from Evolution
All Works saying that when you see the oil
light, that means your engine is done,
but that's on the S2000, apparently if you
see the oil light, it wasn't an oil light
though, was it?
No, it's not a pressure, it wasn't a red
light, 'cause obviously S2000 has a red light
that comes on oil, and he said when that
comes up, engine got pressure.
But on this it says, when it's getting low,
it goes, when you are available,
just check it.
If you could, please, we'll be next to it again.
So, yes, I was like, all right,
cool, check out, I got to my dad's,
and I said, I need to have a look at my car,
so I let a drain plug in out,
so, and then I'll do oil.
So I took the sun plug out, let it drain then
off our way again.
And it was probably lower than when we did it
for the
video.
Okay, so it burned a little bit a lot.
A little
bit, but we're talking like 100 mil in.
But it was on the dipstick.
On the dipstick.
Oh, with improvement for you,
Ben?
Yeah, there's a redacted amount on that.
So I'm fine with topping out with oil,
I know it's, you know, it's burning oil,
it has oil, so that will be.
That's what we always say.
But I filled it up, and then that wasn't on
Saturday, Thursday, and then on the Monday,
I drove here, and I got here,
and my car went oil, and I went,
and then I panicked, I was like,
so we've got a catastrophic leak,
or we're burning, like, that's like,
cool, it's 300 miles, I've done since then,
so it's burning a lot of oil.
And I topped it up, cool.
Driving home that evening, oil like,
and I was like, no, no, no, you not burn half
a liter of oil in like 30 miles,
that's crazy.
So I checked again, fine.
So I think it has the sensor is dead.
A classic thing, our ML63 is doing the same
thing right now.
You worry about it.
I'm sure we'll hear about it next week when
it turns out that there was never any oil in the engine.
That's what is a bit of an advertisement.
I thought the oil was just very clear.
And it was dry.
And it turns out that it was just taking the
coolant gap off and looking at there.
There's loads in there.
And my final ruin.
It was a boil in the coolant reservoir.
My final ruin is a weird one and it's the
goal for some reason randomly when it's cold.
We'll just crank four upwards of five seconds
and go crank, crank, crank, crank,
crank, crank, crank, crank, and then like
cough and then crank again and then start.
It is quite interesting.
We heard it earlier.
It could be an interesting one on the horizon.
It's a good reason for Ben.
That one earlier on, because I've heard the
other long one, but it's not that bad.
That one earlier was, sort of sat in a field
five years starting with me.
It's weird because he had a raw.
It did all weekend.
Last week, last week when I came here,
it hasn't done it since when I've been doing
anything at home, it hasn't done it.
It's stage fright with us.
I asked Ben, does it do it when it's cold?
No, it doesn't when it's warm.
I said, how many times has it done it when it's warm?
Well, no, it's mostly when it's cold.
And I said, but you just said it has done it
when it's warm.
Yeah, no, it did do it when it's warm.
So does it do it when it's warm?
So does it do it when it's cold?
I thought you meant-
No, no, it's pretty much just when it's cold.
No, basically, like, never does it.
Don't worry about it.
Because you think it's the mechanics of a mechanic?
I don't.
I cannot help you.
How do you want this?
I think it's weird about it is that it's not
dependent on anything.
It just does it randomly.
So you could drive for an hour and then it
will just do it when you start up again or it
could be sat over night or it could be 15
degrees outside or it can be minus two and it
just doesn't matter.
So that's weird.
It's a bit stage fright.
It's just a little bit scared sometimes.
That's why.
Because he's heard the stories from the S2000.
They were parked up together for a little
bit.
That guy's been telling him all that sort of,
he doesn't check the oil.
I've got nothing in me.
So you're still saying it's not always cold.
What are we talking about temperature outside cold?
Outside, but car cold or warm,
is it different?
It's so random that it doesn't make any difference.
I can't speak your language.
I do not understand how to translate from
Rogers to what I'm speaking.
It's normal to English.
Well, I don't know.
Rogers to English to Google Translate,
still beta testing at the moment.
Shall we move over?
Ben, you've put in here, most commonly held
cars question mark.
I want to put all that request out to the creamers.
Here we go.
I want to hear from mechanics,
but specifically mobile mechanics or
R-A-C-A-A people, people who get called out
for breakdowns.
I want to know, what is genuinely the car
that--
Did you see how
17:55 Most Commonly Broken Cars Question for Mechanics
Ben does research?
This is what Ben, Ben is looking for a car
that does not appear on this list.
No, I want to know.
He's got used to the Google AI.
My problem with that data would be is that
you would probably be picking up the cars
that are most commonly bought.
Of course.
And also, most commonly not maintained.
So what's the thing about dogs?
There's nothing about dogs that kill or bite
or
hurt humans.
It's like if you took that data,
you'd have to
get rid of labradors or something.
That's because there's a million--
Okay, yeah.
So there's bound to be a couple of instances
where they bite of, you know,
child.
or eat a child or whatever.
Eat a child?
Yeah, they wouldn't put a pasta,
you know, labradors do eat cow shit.
Straight down the anything.
Rockets, children.
But is it like that where you go zone?
'Cause you've had it before,
you've heard it from a catch,
"Oh, okay, golf's in there all the time."
That's 'cause everyone has golf.
Yeah, of course, but I wanna hear about,
'cause you know where people go rain drovers,
yeah, they always break or whatever it is.
I wanna know what, people who see all these
cars breaking down, I wanna know what it is.
But I think my biggest thing would be that,
that most of the cars you're seeing are the
most poorly maintained ones.
Well, let's hear from them.
So I bet you it's gonna be all of the BMWs
and things where people go, oh,
wicked to BMW, and then they don't maintain
it, and then it breaks and they go,
oh, I hate these cheap things.
Well, I wanna hear from people.
Sure.
So that's to your DMs or like they bring you on?
No, comment.
Do you wanna give you a comment?
No, I don't wanna do that.
No, not fair.
Can you just comment?
Okay, do you have a predetermined thought?
I heard it was XC90, the new-ish one.
Is that, yeah, I've heard that somewhere.
I've heard and V90 and that platform
apparently is very unreliable,
but I wanna know what actually you see.
If it is XC90, there's not that many.
Well, there's a lot, but what was the last
car you saw broken down?
I saw.
I saw one this morning.
Forget everything you know.
Do you remember it was when you were in your own car?
I hope not.
I don't remember, it's such a variation.
A polo, I never know, that's what it is.
It's polo, it's fiesta, it's a golf,
it's something.
It's a key a Nero, it's always something like that.
Do you know what?
But then I also, I'll see a Cayenne,
I'll also see someone in a Formula One car.
Whatever it is, I don't think it will.
Yeah, no, Jensen, mate, just to bring down
the side of the road.
Now, do you know what?
It never is.
Modified car.
I never see it, I've never seen a broken down
Modified car.
Okay.
I've seen, I like Modified car with a flat tire.
Modified cars, I often see sort of,
and normally they're, you see,
I say normal person, normal person broken down.
They're just sort of standing near the car,
staring at it, probably on the phone.
Modified car broken down is,
he's under bonnet, he's thinking,
I'll fix this.
He might be doing an engine swap,
you don't have to fix this.
I just have to fix this.
If there's an event somewhere.
Oh, okay.
Well, you will often see--
You know what?
It's a littered, fine.
No, you're right.
You're littered with--
Yeah, you're right.
If there's an S15 or S4, probably a 13 or a
14, bonnet up, Trail of Crap.
There's a focus down the road,
undertray somewhere, back down the M40.
But you'll find a little, a little pocket of
trail of crumbs leading you to an event.
Lovely.
I've never seen, I have seen broken down
modified cars, but I've never seen one with
an A.A truck helping them or an RAC truck helping them.
It's always--
I have.
I've got this on.
You have?
It's me when my engine blew up on my--
Yeah, that's just for those now.
That was, you know what, if I could have
repaired it, I would have, if I could have
run that car on three cylinders,
we would have been off.
A.A.
guy figured it might be.
Just to blend the intercooler pipe mate,
you said that's probably just a boost pipe or something.
Sure,
that's not blown off.
Meanwhile, me looking at Will through the
block on me also.
So yeah, let us know, A.A.
men's and all the recovery peoples.
Will you recover him?
Who are you recovering?
Who are you recovering the best?
And if you don't know, start a tally.
Okay.
Okay.
Start writing them, start recording it,
make a file.
And will in 10 years time, we'll ask this question again.
'Cause also, I don't want thoughts,
I don't want, oh, I think I've done no data.
I
have done 63 golf mark faults.
Yes, and then can you break them down by the model?
Like is it the 1.4, is it a 1 liter,
is it a GTD probably?
Probably, no oil in it.
No oil in it.
No oil in it.
It's a nice mix of rainwater and oil.
We've got next, we've got a misspelling from
me, Doug Demirre, lowered cars and spacers.
Now Doug Demirre, he doesn't like talking about it.
Doug Demirre.
He likes just--
Doug Demirre.
He's very Demirre.
Yeah, 'cause I mean Demirre.
Yes, it does, just to spell it.
Does anyone I typed it in, obviously,
mistook me.
And now tell me this, would he be wearing shoes?
No, never.
No, I would have knocked him in.
No, I would have knocked him in.
Socked him in.
So he would.
Doug Demirre absolutely would be Demirre--
Never shoes.
No shoes.
No shoes, trainer socks.
Anyway, he said on his podcast,
that I've forgotten the name of,
which could well be called--
The car pod or something.
Cars and bins.
Cars and bins.
I think it is actually possibly that.
Cars rule everything.
That might be one.
No, that's the best one though.
Is that the one that you should--
That's exactly it.
I can't say it.
Just subscribe.
So I can't do it.
I don't listen to the podcast 'cause I don't
really listen to any podcasts.
Wow.
I don't have the brain power.
This one?
Or the facility, I don't listen to this.
Well, yeah.
I'm listening to it now.
Now, exactly, right now, you're on one.
I'm just listening to it.
Yeah, well, I mean, I'd listen to it
back.
Anyway, I saw a clip, Dr.
Miro were talking about,
they were talking about modified cars.
And Dr.
Miro made a claim, a bold claim.
And you should always back up your claims.
Yeah.
You should always back up your claims.
Never just state stuff without researching.
No.
And he
said he's never, never seen a car that looks
better when it was lowered and spaced out.
That is quite literally the opposite.
That cannot, be true.
Because I believe there is not a car on earth
that wouldn't look better with not full
luring, some amount of luring,
and some amount of spacer.
I cannot think, even if I thought about this
when I saw the clip, 'cause it enraged me.
And I thought like even standard,
yeah, standard wheels, if you lowered it and
spaced it out a bit, you'd look at it and go,
hang on a sec.
And the reason that that is a flawed argument
is because concept cars, they are lowered and
spaced when they have to go to production,
they have to be lifted up and brought back in.
That is how it works.
The concept car is the coolest way of looking
at that car.
That
24:10 Doug Demirre's Lowered Car Critique
is objectively the best way.
Now, if he said lowered cars with spacers
drive worse than the standard one,
fine, fine.
You have that, you can use that.
That is probably true in most cases,
if you have none of the mods,
blah, blah, blah.
But you cannot say every single car,
you've never seen one.
No, you've never looked at an F80 M3,
that's a little bit lower.
It's spaced out on its standard wheels and it
looks absolutely menacing.
Meanwhile, you want that.
It's because you wear no shoes.
That's it.
He looks at that and goes, well,
you know, well, I don't need to wear shoes.
You know what, I've never seen a person
wearing socks without shoes
and thought, that looks good.
Look, Doug D'Amiro does have a Countach.
And there's some GT.
There's some GT.
And like, you know, lots of money and
experience and knowledge.
name.
I don't know if it's Ragebait.
Yeah, it really bugged me that because you
cannot say there's not even one car you've looked at.
That looked OK.
Also, the Grand Tour, also Lancia versus Audi
is in the Grand Tour Chopper.
It is the Grand Tour.
Let's carry on.
That's just a little inside check.
M-O-T date, I've put in here.
Ben, you won't know about this.
I think it's not out yet, is it?
I think, should I, would you like me to tee this off?
a little teaser out there.
OK.
Now, we needed to MIT our fake Ferrari.
As you do.
As you do.
On a normal Thursday.
On a normal Wednesday.
Oh, apologies.
That's when we had the MIT plan.
So, Monday and Tuesday, we spent the time
repairing the car and getting it ready for
the MIT, our yearly inspection in the UK.
Now, on Wednesday morning, sorry,
on Tuesday morning, wait, sorry?
The previous week, booked it in for an MOT.
Yeah.
I set an MOT for Wednesday afternoon.
Yeah.
For a Wednesday afternoon.
So, we could do Monday, Tuesday,
fix Wednesday, MOT.
And we came in on Wednesday to fix the last bit.
And we were like, cool, the MOT is about one o'clock.
So, around about 12, we said,
we should start packing up to leave.
And I was just doing some stuff at the front
of the car.
And I heard Will go, nah.
And it started laughing.
And I said, what is it?
And he said, I booked the MOT for Wednesday.
Ben, which Wednesday was it for?
Well, last Wednesday would have been the 12th.
Yeah.
It was for the 6th of March.
Okay, so it was the 11th that I desired and I
got the 6th of March.
Now, in my humble defense, the place I booked
it with, the next date available was Wednesday.
And I just figured that would be the next Wednesday.
Of course you would think it would be a
Wednesday, that at time of booking was five weeks away.
Yeah, but you did also book it through a very
large and well-known.
Somewhere where you got your alignment done,
I believe.
Indeed.
Yeah, sort of.
Which is, but the best thing is,
I like the idea that we'll look to not the
number below the Wednesday, above the number
or the Wednesday.
Just when, yeah, Wednesday, that sounds about right.
How can you have five weeks booked out of MOTs?
How can you have 52 Wednesdays in a year?
Should be just one, shouldn't it?
Then about five weeks.
Wednesday ahead.
You mean 6th of February?
Yeah.
at the February.
You mean Wednesday?
That's the Wednesday.
I still need to cancel that.
So if anyone wants an MOT in the sort of
Wokingum area, for just one going,
it's not paid for.
You start to pay for it.
But that was annoying.
As we know, they're pretty booked out.
And I worried for a sec, because I thought,
hang on a sec.
If I've missed that and it's four weeks,
five weeks away, we want no chance getting an MOT.
No, I bet we'll end that evening for the next morning.
So who in the right mind has five weeks
booked up of MOTs?
Are they app, are they the, are they like
hundreds of certain, it's, you know,
like when you go on holiday,
if you book it further in advance,
you, you get a discount, you get past.
Exactly.
You get past.
You ring up the night before they go.
Yeah, we can get you in, but we will follow you.
Yeah, that was silly.
And almost, oh, he didn't matter at the end,
which you'll see.
So anyway, don't worry about it.
Ben News, I want you to be prepared for this one.
It's your alpeno logo.
I don't know nothing.
There's a new alpeno logo.
No way.
It's more flat.
There's less detail.
There's the color.
That looks.
It does look the same to me.
Pull up the old one.
keyboard and a set of binoculars on it.
Are they a keyboard?
It's just different.
That's a bit of a phone.
What is that on the right?
Okay.
Lovely little silence for our YouTube for our
audio listeners.
I don't know.
It looks someone else.
Jenga.
Nope.
Not Jenga.
One more try.
Giant Jenga.
No, it's a crankshaft.
Crankshaft.
Okay, but the other one does look like a crankshaft.
The other one does not know.
It kind of looks a bit like windings or
hieroglyphics a little bit on the right hand side.
You know what?
It's recognizable as Alpina,
the new logo.
So what's the pivot point?
They've been verified.
It's this
is the version of it and it is black and white.
I believe it's like the BMW one.
I don't.
This is agreed with that.
The official, I can't see anything that's not that.
That's what I saw.
So they've taken the color out of it,
which was actually quite noticeable Alpina.
I have another photo here that has,
so for audio listeners, it's the Alpina logo,
basically modernized.
It's just much more simple.
I haven't seen that one.
I only saw the black and white one.
But I don't know if the bit where it says
Alpina, that ring is meant to be see through
like it is on BMW now.
Right.
I'm not sure.
But either way, because they own them now fully.
It's very, it's very recognizable.
It's I don't really see why you needed to do it.
It's a small, it's not the end of the world
because it's kind of looks, it's still
roughly the same.
If you didn't tell anyone, yeah,
I just, I doubt many people and it was still
had the blue and red in it.
people probably wouldn't even know.
No, it's, it looks like they've been the BMW
logo now, like dimensions wise,
because if you look at the original one,
it has a crest in the middle,
which is just as a circle.
Now, what I'm interested to know is as Alpina
has bought, sorry, Alpina has bought BMW,
breaking use.
I wouldn't think it was not broken in years.
They hit an uno reverse card on that.
No.
Now that BMW owns Alpina, will the badges
start becoming, will the badge now be an
Alpina badge on the back?
Or will
30:29 Alpina Logo Update and BMW Ownership Discussion
it stay BMW?
I would like that.
I would prefer that.
No, why?
Because I don't like the big Alpina lettering
on the rear.
No, probably still have that.
I will agree with you.
I don't like the Alpina writing,
but I would like it just to have BMW.
No, but then you don't have that.
No, I prefer that.
I want Alpina.
I want people to know I've got something different.
Just stripe up the side.
Yeah.
Oh, is it called?
Decorative strike.
Nice.
You're striped, sir.
You're 13th strike.
Master White.
What next?
Next.
Another one from you, Ben.
I'm sure how to word this other than the way
you've written it.
Mark Gray, unmolested.
Yes, we, I received a message from a man
named Mark Gray, and I'll pull it up right
now, and I'm not stalling to find it.
I'm just going to pull it up.
He is Mark Gray.
Message.
Just as to podcast 69 brackets,
Oi Oi, and I have a word to share.
Unmolested.
Seeing as molested can either mean to assault
or harass someone.
I've never heard anyone able themselves or
anything else is unmolested.
The equivalent use of the automotive
interpretation of the word would be to absent
bodily modifications, and would see people
describe themselves as unmolested on dating
apps, et cetera.
Basically, what, because they don't have tattoos.
So what you're saying is, you know,
we were talking about words that are only
used in cars.
You use the phrase perish, which,
you know, upsets in people.
Oh, some people were very upset.
It's a joke podcast.
Has said that another word that is never used
outside is unmolested.
I was trying to say it, that could be the king.
And his example he was saying was that you
would, you know, you would put a liver in
your car and you'd make the headlights purple.
Yeah, yeah.
And someone tried that as a molested example of that.
But you would never do that.
But you would never do that.
You'd never say the cut, it was a molested
car, but you would say it's that molested car.
That's true.
So you were saying the body equivalent would
be like having no tattoos or no modifications visually.
So, okay, so that's one to add to the list.
So we have an unmolested example,
shod in ditchfinders, shod in perish,
shod in perish, ditchfinders.
But unmolested is...
But it's true.
Wherever I read the word, I'm always slightly
uneasy with it.
Yeah, it's weird.
It should not be used with cars.
It's just a weird thing to use.
Also, if you're not using it with cars,
you're probably not using it elsewhere.
That's what he says.
Let's just get rid of the word.
Yeah, he's saying that you would never refer
to anything else in life.
If we need molested, we need that as a word.
Like, we need that word, but unmolested,
it's sort of, well, if it's not that,
it kind of is this.
But also, when would you specify it at any
other time that it's unmolested,
you sort of say that it is or isn't.
Yeah, I'm trying to feel like it feels a bit American.
It's like, I need you to know it's not.
I'm gonna give you a word for it.
Do you know what?
I would like to know the first person to
float that idea.
Like, everyone's looking at a car and they're
like, it's a bit, it's a bit,
it's a bit, it's a bit, it's a bit of a bit ropy.
So when, I think mine's unmolested.
Everyone will.
Everyone, whoa, whoa.
Don't say that.
He's absolutely molested there,
car, isn't he?
That's terrible.
I wouldn't molest my car.
Well no.
Oh, mine's unmolested.
That's clean.
That's something I can't say.
No, no.
Right, they're not molested,
unmolested even, sorry.
That one will be added to the
cream dictionary of cars.
That's number one for me, unmolested,
not a nice word at all.
March the 7th, just after the MOT date of the big week.
Well, it is a big, big day.
Now it's T37 day.
I did not look into this.
I thought I should know about this,
but I didn't.
A T37, was T37?
T37 is the wheel.
God's wheel.
Yeah, it's wheel.
It is the aftermarket wheel that works on all
cars ever, forever.
Doug DeMiro, never find one.
Doug DeMiro wouldn't even want it in standard
offset with a flat face.
Not a single car would look better with a
T37, he says.
Or road height.
The King's all road.
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of testing
T37, March 7th has been officially recognized
as T37 Day by the Japan anniversary association.
Sorry, hold on.
There's a public holiday.
It's a public holiday.
But it's an officially recognized day.
Is it a holiday?
I
don't think it's gonna be a man holiday.
Yeah, they are.
That's the most Japanese thing.
Yep.
So a whole day for this wheel.
So apparently in 2026, the T37 enters its
30th anniversary year.
Incredible.
With special edition models,
exclusive commemorative items and more to come.
Someone a minor piece of news,
but also, how crazy is that?
Are we doing that here?
You don't want that though.
That just proves it is the wheel.
Yes.
No, RPF1's not getting that.
No, no one's ringing up Enki.
No, I'm sorry, Ben.
But no one's ringing them up and going,
"No, this is a big, big birthday."
What we're doing for your 30th and the
Japanese government go, "It's a big party.
Let's go mental."
An RPF1 was surely get like her an hour.
Oh yeah, he might get in.
No, no silence.
I'm saying his mom's ringing him.
His mom's ringing him that she's saying,
"Oh, lovely birthday."
He's loved.
Exactly.
He's loved.
He might have some mates take him out for a dinner.
Oh yeah, and there's a cake.
And everyone's singing.
And everyone else in the restaurant will give a wheel.
It's a lightweight cake.
Yes.
I don't know what that means.
The wheels are light?
Yes, exactly, that's all.
Are they?
March the 7th.
Oh, you're on holiday, Ben.
Oh, it's a Saturday.
Are you off to Japan?
Are you going off to the party?
I'm off that.
Now, I'm on, actually, I'm away.
Anyone who's a Volk distributor hit me up
because I want the commemorative stuff,
that's cool.
Also, perfect cake size.
Perfect cake shape, sorry, a wheel.
I might chuck my T-37s on the beat for its birthday.
Happy birthday, mate.
March the 7th, T-37 day.
I would like to see the United Kingdom match
that with something else.
Anyone's got any ideas?
Leave an idea in comments.
We could have, like, we could have,
Reliant Robin day.
Yeah, Pie mash.
Do you know how we have towns in the UK that
are twinned
with French towns and Belgian towns?
That's how our
holidays are built in.
Pie mash, twinned with T-37 day.
Here you go.
I'm not joking.
No, go away.
No, no.
From Monday the 10th of March,
the 16th of March, so we can just squeeze it in.
So obviously T-37 day was chosen specifically
'cause they went, "Well, we don't want to
mess around with Pie mash."
Let's not step on anyone they chose here.
They went, "I hope that doesn't mess with Pie mash day."
And they went, "Hang on, Pie mash has a whole week."
It's a week.
Just go in, just before, is everyone on the
come down from the T-37s?
Sure, it makes sense that it's straight into
Pie mash week.
Oh, TSW Venom week.
Venom day or one of those days would just be lovely.
Oh, bank holiday max power.
There's legs in this.
Cream podcast needs to be deciding these sort
of bank holidays.
Let us know, English government.
Also, you're taxing brake pads,
what are you up to?
Also Pie mash week, be there.
Shout out, be there if he's got it.
Weeks, wild.
If you think about the, like,
T-37s is good, but Pie mash is probably better.
I think probably in the round,
look.
How many Pie mash is staying,
you know, people?
A lot of people.
Also, Pie mash doesn't cross like eight grand.
Yeah.
Well, that's the whole point is it's meant to
be a--
And you can get in loads of specs as well,
like there's all sorts.
Pie mash, all sorts.
Doug DeMiro might be okay with Pie mash,
we don't know that for sure.
I reckon
he's a two mash, one pie, can I guy?
And that's that, that's
crazy.
Next up, we have a DM.
We've actually had those DM multiple times
now, but I'm gonna name the man who I saw first.
Also, I haven't responded to that DM.
That's the most--
Lovely.
That's a classic cream move.
James Foxen of Fox On, perhaps,
the being QDCap.
The being Q is a, it is a shop.
Yeah, that's apparently what it is.
It is a hardware store.
It sits at the home depot.
If you're home depot or Lowe's.
Also orange.
You can get tools in there, you can get wood
in there, you can get lights,
switches, you can get whatever the hell you like.
Just kind of building it in your house or the
garden, you're gonna buy it.
If it's wood based--
You probably don't think about cars.
No.
I've gone in there for tools.
Occasionally.
Gardening.
I did say that twice.
Yeah, did do that.
Could you?
And they have gardening.
And they have gardening.
Yeah, I think they might have gone in there.
But what they have on their website is gardening.
It's not gardening.
Now, also, the most they kind of stem into
cars is nuts and bolts.
Yep.
You can go and get yourself an M10 nut.
But someone's found something interesting.
You know, they sell decat pipes.
The one in particular is for a Mark V,
Mark VI, and also Chorroco and Golf,
2.0L GTI decat pipe.
And a bunch of people have also said there
are other decat pipes on the B&Q website.
Now, I did a, did some research and I have
noticed this from my other escapades on B&Q,
is that they don't just sell what they sell
in the shop online.
They just sell random, dropshipped,
random
items.
It's like, oh, you would like a poster of Mandalorian.
You can have that.
A B&Q?
I don't know about that.
I don't know about that.
I don't know about that.
But it's not possible.
Potentially.
But they have decat pipes.
They have all sorts of just random,
I'm gonna assume Chinese.
B&Q right now are listening to this podcast.
Right, get a poster of the Mandalorian in right now.
But I wanna know, was this an accident?
I put the decat pipes, metal pipes,
where do we put those?
Put them with the other metal pipes.
I have a theory.
Every time you see a car video in the UK of
people doing faux takeovers,
it's a car park meet,
everyone's doing skids, everyone's doing
donuts and flipping cars and crashing them.
Where is it?
B&Q car parks.
It's a B&Q car park.
So surely they're looking at the security
camera first going, see a lot of VAG stuff
there, see a lot of decat pipes.
And if it's gonna be sold, stuck on Monday.
Can you open the link on the screen,
please?
Ben has sent me the link.
Don't look at it, just like the link on the screen.
It's been on B&Q website for a little look at--
B&Q.
(laughing)
For audio listeners, Ben has just gone on TV,
B&Q website and found the Mandalorian behind
the space host that actually proves the point.
'Cause it says they're available online only
and not stopped in B&Q stores.
And this being sold by Nikes Banyan,
UK Limited, available online only and not
stopped in B&Q stores.
So hold on, so being--
So you cannot yet walk into a B&Q and buy a
DCAT, which I think is--
That's got to change.
It needs to change.
Name me one more random item.
Could I get--
T-VOC T37.
I don't think that.
Ooh, don't finna do those.
No, but this is what I'm asking.
Is it essentially just now AliExpress?
I think that's what it looks like.
Because this is just, they're just selling
other people's stuff without actually stocking it.
I found many tools on there that I'm like,
"Oh, B&Q has it."
And I'll go on there and think,
"Great, I can go down to B&Q and pick it up."
Seven weeks.
March 6th.
March 11th, about March.
Ben, can we see if there's anything pie mash related?
Thank you.
Pie and mash B.
It's just an actual pie.
B&Q, oh, lots of nice photos.
No, but they have steak and chips,
treats.
Okay, love me.
The dogs.
Treats for dogs.
What we got next?
Next up, sorry, I need to close my B&Q page.
Hold on, sorry, I'm about to buy a Marxics golf decal.
Also just a crazy thing to approve.
Yeah, deep hats, you literally aren't meant to.
No.
You shouldn't.
It's a race car thing, you weren't saying.
Edwin, you've put a Vince's engine,
what's all that?
This is just a random little tidbit of information.
I was doing research on something.
I don't, look, my travels take me far and
wide on the internet.
Did you know that Toyota, Rannabe and W
engine in their events?
It is essentially the N47, which is Ben's,
these all forces.
The N47 is the small guy.
Is the small guy of the city?
The 2D, there you go.
Now it's not the exact engine,
but it is related to it.
They ran it in Toyota.
How far does the rabbit hole go?
What is BMW?
BMW is on a generational run of just sneaking
engines into things.
Sorry, you're telling me a Toyota eventsus
and I'm supposed to know that has a BMW
engine in it?
He's got in his jacket, he opens his jacket
up and inside it.
He's like, you McLaren?
Do you want a V12?
Yeah, you got one of them.
Are you Mercedes?
You want a new 4-cylinder?
Yeah, we got your one M.
You want a straight six, it does $800 per hour?
Yeah, you got one of those.
You want to put it in a sort of
defender-looking recreation?
Run it.
Wack it in that.
We got one of those for you.
They've got something for everyone.
Something?
They're just in the market going,
"Come on, roll up, we've got something for everyone.
We've got six cylinders, four cylinders,
eight cylinders, 10 cylinders,
wherever you want.
They've got it.
They've got it.
Greengrocers, they were just trying to shift
the last bit of stock.
Come on, we've got some M47 surely,
what do you want?
Toyota, come here.
We've got something in V10s,
lovely.
And a manual gearbox.
Actually, really quite good at that.
But I just want another one that surprised me.
So we run a Mercedes out here.
Toyota, like early doors.
Toyota for the Supra.
Well, right around it was about 2015.
So just at the beginning of our relationship,
when everyone started moaning about the music
of BMW engine, Toyota going,
"Well, actually."
Did put an N47 in an event series.
And none of you knew, another purest moment
then, did you?
Although I typed it in on Google,
Toyota event series, BMW engine,
the first read was, a Toyota Eventus Forum
with all of them complaining about it.
It was quite nice.
Nice.
No more saying it.
Time for James Felt.
Time for James Felt.
Time for James and burning oil,
which is, you know--
Toys, people in BMW.
Sorry, what do you mean burning oil?
I don't know what that means.
What is that supposed to be?
That's 2000 though, sort of only one.
Leave my cars alone.
Right, I'd like to talk about the cream plate.
Now in the UK, we have a thing called the DVLA auctions.
You can buy private plumber plates that are
just available on the DVLA site,
but you also have the auctions where number
plates go and sell for a million pounds each or whatever.
And they usually either something that has
returned to the system that they know is
worth a lot, or something that someone has
requested, and someone did request something,
and that someone is me.
I requested a plate when looking on the DVLA
site, it had C.R.E.A.M.
11 is the shortest amount of digits you can
get with two digits.
It's actually, in some cases,
shortened one, small nerd fact.
So I thought that would be perfect.
That would be absolutely perfect.
And I requested it, and I thought,
who's going to want a cream plate?
For some reference, and that plate's
unusually, they're not generally dictated by
length, but the length of the plate normally
means how expensive it gets.
If it gets shorter, five digit plates aren't
that cheap, depending on what they say,
and then three and four and two and whatever,
they get very, very expensive.
So I thought this is C.R.E.A.M.
11 is a normal number plate.
It may have been on a car, I have no idea,
but it was available to request.
Right now Benjamin, 700 pounds,
2,110 pounds, I believe.
And you requested this, yes.
So some, you know what, we were saying this
in the car that it's quite funny,
you go on the DVLA auction site and you see a
plate that you like for you and you're like,
that's cool.
And so you start bidding on it,
forgetting the fact that some poor person
went, I really want this plate for me.
So Will's done that, Will's requested this plate.
And now some choppers just bidding us up on this plate.
I put my own max bid on a thousand pounds,
I thought it won't go higher than that.
No one's going to want that,
but that should guard me against anything else.
Bear in mind, that's not the final fee.
You have VAT, you have an assignment fee,
you have the auction fee plus 20% of that on
top of the auction fee as well.
So it gets, once it gets into big numbers
like that, your payings are adding a load on.
So that's not far off sort of coming up three grand.
So I'm just very upset.
Now, if one thing I'd like to say,
it may not be.
It may be the owner of a cream magnate.
Cream magnate.
Cream magnate.
Cream magnate.
is someone who's part of a cream distillery
or whatever you call it.
Cream dynasty.
They are the creamer.
Mr.
Cream.
Mr.
Cream, the original.
Who wants this plate?
Yeah.
And if you're, if you're bidding on it or you
have bought it and we've received a message
that says, I bought this plate,
do you want to buy it for five grand?
You can stick it exactly where the sun
doesn't shine because we will not be buying
that plate from anywhere.
We will not.
But if you wanted to buy it for yourself,
then I'm sorry that I've bid you up.
Yeah, fair.
I bid you up.
I mean, it's just a lot of money.
I do really want that plate.
It could be by the time the podcast goes out
that I might have bought it,
but I'm going to doubt it because it's a lot
of damage to grand.
It's basically three grand.
So there's not many other cool.
There's another plate, a C12 A.M.,
which if you are a nerd well,
you could space it illegally and it would
look exactly like cream.
But I believe that's on a transit van.
Lovely, perfect.
So if anyone knows a transit van owner with
cream on their plate, that is in the numbers,
not physical cream.
I'll pay you 500 pounds for it.
to steal it.
I also found out recently that the plate that
I was looking at for myself that disappeared
from the D.A.V.A.
website lives near Ben.
Yeah, Ben said, I found this plate.
There was not the best part about it.
We were actually walking, sorry,
I've driven past that plate a lot.
And every time I think, I'll send it to what
at some point.
I'm genuinely going to say a year since I
first saw it.
And because it disappeared, I want to say,
well, in the last couple of years,
basically, I've been watching it.
And I thought I don't really want to put,
I think it was 400 quid.
I didn't really want to buy it.
But eventually I'd like to be that penis who
has all of a variation.
I have W11GCC.
I would love W1GCC.
I had W6GCC, but I lost that to the ether.
And W14, because that's the day I was born,
the 14th of Wednesday.
And a 14th of March, as a wins then.
Yeah, crazy.
The best
part is, Ben explained this,
we were walking to lunch, and it was the most
sarcastic thing.
Ben went, "Oh, I've seen that plate of sale,
and we'll stop to the middle of a car park."
And I finally went, "What?"
And I was like, "Really?
You haven't."
And I was like, "All right, I've got the car."
And he got on the car and was still saying it.
I was like, "Oh, you're being serious right
now, and you're quite upset,
weren't you?"
I was quite upset, because again,
I was watching, I'm not gonna say which ones
I'm watching.
People are gonna figure it out now.
Yeah.
Great, I've lost all these plates.
But anyway, and that was the one that vanished.
That was the only one that seemed to vanish,
and now you know where it is.
I said, often you're a photo of an extra.
No, could you just ask him?
I can if you want.
Just ask him, say, "Excuse me,
how much you want for that?"
So it's on like a van.
I know they paid 400 pounds,
or 399 pounds with it.
It's including no fees or anything.
That's straight up.
3.98.
Keep them guessing.
Start getting negotiations, keep them humble.
Exactly.
But retention.
What I do want to say is these auctions,
I don't think it's possible to buy a cheap,
a decent plate that's cheap.
People are, you've heard talking about in the
past, "Yeah, I got this cool plate,
it cost me £3.80 from the auctions."
It seems like those auctions are just filled
with people just bidding and bidding.
They don't want to make a profit on it,
or they're so desperate for that plate,
they'll pay whatever.
They are all thousands and thousands and
thousands and thousands of pounds.
There are none that are like,
"Oh, you're just going to pay 300 quid or 500 quid."
They are all thousands.
I was convinced that plate would just be
cheap, but I guess also we missed out,
I think we talked about it a while ago.
We missed out on an inky-dunk plate.
It was really upsetting.
Yeah, that was my fault.
It was N100, N-K-Y, so it was Nianky and Nianky.
And it was so good.
And we just forgot to put N1,
N-K-Y would be perfect.
I like to check that out.
I think it's not available.
But either way, is the best thing that
doesn't make any sense.
There's other plates I've requested as well.
I look it up and it's not on a car.
It's not on a car.
So how do I get this?
Surely there's got to be a DVLA creamer who
can get us on the inside.
I want V10yolo.
That would be cool to go with.
I searched for it immediately after the Clio plate.
It turns out it's not there.
So Ben, we talked about this before,
but B3N or something.
That's your ultimate plate.
8EN.
50:26 Private Number Plate Auctions and DVLA Requests
I saw it in the 8EN, that's the one.
But what is your other?
plate do you like the idea of?
I always wondered what I have.
I have F25BOR.
Oh, I've know where that car is.
It's right here.
Where is it?
I haven't seen it for a while.
All
the bump that I took off.
Yeah.
That was easy.
I would like
mine if it's not very good.
BOR.
I don't like the BOR.
I would like that, but BR.
What, F25?
Just BR?
Is it possible?
No.
No, it's not.
You could have, you could have two numbers
and then two letters.
So you could have like 85BR or BR85.
When were you born?
You know.
'28?
Would you like to look at my plate?
Oh, you wouldn't work it out.
2025?
That's crazy.
Right over 25th.
No, what year?
2002.
You can't have that.
So you'd have O2 wouldn't work?
No.
I got that.
That's February 25th.
BOR.
Is that what I mean?
I didn't know that.
I thought it was a random assortment.
I don't care.
It feels a little bit random flex because I
don't even care about it.
I wanted some, I don't know.
I just wanted something that I want a plate
that was like my plate.
I point every day I had and then that came up
and I thought that's my niche.
I know a guy who says that there's not a
single private number plate on earth that he likes.
It's called Doug.
He just hates all of it.
There's not a single reason you'd ever put it in.
I've never seen one that looks good.
Never seen a private plate in my life.
I do feel like a penis when I consider private plates.
But I'm too far deep now.
I like it.
I'm the same.
I used to be the same.
Oh, I bought one.
You said the clear videos out?
Yeah.
Yeah.
You joked in the video.
the 125 Newton meters that we were supposed
to talk it to.
We were too scared.
Yeah.
So we talked it to 110.
And then I wanted a plate for my Clio.
And you can't have like Will has CL10 because
that is for a 2010 car or newer.
My Clio is from 2001.
But you can have C11, which is an old style
plate that's from the '80s.
So I bought C11 O and then you can have two letters.
So this is Clio two letters.
Can't have my initials.
Can't have anything else funny.
So I bought CL, sorry, CL11 O and M.
So it just says Clio and M or C
110 Newton meters.
So, and Will said off camera,
it's quite funny if it never goes wrong.
If it does blow up and eat itself,
then it's a bit stupid.
You're going to be on the hard shoulder and
you're going to be already annoyed and you're
going to finally come out the engine,
Ben, you're going to step back and look at
the car and you're going to look at that
plate and go, you're an idiot.
So now I'll just let, I'll do it,
but when the tuner does it on the dynast,
his fault, just keep a talk wrench.
You know, nearby.
Have it set to 110 and just always just buzz
it, just buzz it very hard.
I keep going up a new me every time you go
111, 112, and eventually, you know,
we might make that 125.
You haven't seen that part of it yet,
because you haven't, I haven't set it over a
drop of it a bit.
Because you haven't finished it.
I haven't finished it last week.
I haven't finished it, I just haven't done it over.
Some stuff to do to it.
But that's actually very funny.
I didn't realise when we were filming it,
just how scared you were.
There are points where Edwin,
he just doesn't know what to say,
so he just makes a noise.
One bit where he goes into the talk and then
just screams, it's in the video.
I'm looking at, I'm thinking,
did that happen?
Yeah, I was scared, man.
I didn't want, because if it broke,
that video wouldn't go out, that card still
be sitting on that, on that lift.
I know all of my other cards still be working.
Yeah, exactly.
So, you know, there was silver linings to all
clouds, I believe.
So that's private number of plates,
multiple plates.
Is it?
I thought before we end on a forum,
which Ben is currently searching for right
now, off the camera.
Yeah, he's definitely searching for it.
Yeah, it's probably all one of the week,
because we haven't done that for a while.
And there is always once of the week.
It's not because we don't do it every week,
not do it every week because we don't have
them, probably because we have too many of them.
Seeing as you brought it up,
run it.
I have to.
Okay.
I'm not really allowed.
You shouldn't really do that by him.
Focus on RS Mark 1.
It's still there.
I still want it.
If I don't end up buying one,
I'm going to regret it.
I'm going to be very upset.
I have a yearning for a Ford,
if I'm honest.
I have been looking at Mark 2s as well,
but it's slightly too much money.
But the Escort Cosweres and stuff still just
waiting for me.
is just in that perfect range at the moment.
I think you probably missed the boat on the
really good cheap ones, but I think you could
get a modified one or a slightly,
you know, higher owner or a high mile one and
sort it out yourself.
And you'd end up with a very solid,
solid car to own for future that will invest.
The other thing is an F10M5.
Yeah.
Are you all going to be back?
That's such a real car.
I don't know what it is.
I've never even knew Will when he had the F10M.
I found that he once when you had that.
No, you meet him every day, mate.
Unfortunately, that is the truth.
Wow.
Were you at what's that show called?
Was it cool?
Was it the first Matwood?
No.
No, you weren't there.
Okay.
Sorry.
That would have been the only possible time I
think they might have been crossover.
You just asked Ben if he'd come to a car show.
Oh, sorry.
Yeah, I forgot that.
I've got these car shows.
No, no, no, no.
It's the ones that we've been.
Only if there's wads of cash involved.
It's not true.
It was a charity event, Ben.
Where was that?
I can't remember how long ago it was.
Was that during TDC?
Was it no TDC before?
No, no, no.
So, F10M5, F10M5, it's just,
I mean, an F19M5 is probably a better car.
That's the generation after its full drive.
The interior is way nicer.
But I just don't think they look as good.
And the sound is the same because the engine
is roughly there.
But that is just a very simple modifications
are just one of the best cars ever made.
I actually think after many years of people
avoiding them or just, you know,
not even thinking about them,
they might be thought of as possibly the best M5.
I agree.
I know people will say you're 39 because it's
the manual one and it's not too heavy and
it's still got good engine.
But that, in terms of doing what an M5 is
meant to do, does all of it unbelievably well.
I think better than any 39.
I've said it before that when I drove you,
you gave me your M5 for like a week.
I don't think I've ever been as happy driving
a car in my life.
And that was right around the time that a
good friend of mine lent me his E39 M5 for a week.
And I was in the E39.
I was like, this is cool.
I get it.
It's retro.
I like retro stuff.
I wasn't expecting to care about the F10 M5.
It's just the most fantastic car on earth
because also if you like doing a skid,
it's the best thing in the world.
It will just do the longest slides in the
most controllable manner you've ever seen.
And I had that at the same time alongside a 730D.
So an older car, but it's a seven series.
I would nine times out of 10,
choose the M5 just because it was,
it was seven series in nature in the way that
you could bomb up and down the motorway and
it was comfortable.
But then you could also do the ridiculous thing.
I do think, I suppose my dad about this
because he didn't like that car.
I bought, not didn't like it,
but he doesn't care about it as much.
But he didn't do the mods.
His, I bought the car from him.
He did a couple of mods, but not that much.
He's like, I'm not, I didn't really care about it.
But there's a couple of bits that just made
that car exciting, which was,
you know, the downpipes, lowering it spaces.
Oh, much, horrible.
But they're just, I look back at pictures of
it, I just think, ah, it's such a good car.
They do scare me now though,
because my mind was actually,
it was good, it was low miles and it was
actually quite expensive at the time.
So I never had any issues with it.
But now I see, I'm still in the group and you
can see them getting older, 100,000 miles
plus, they start needing rod bearings and
valve stem seals and little things,
age-related things that make them very scary buys.
Yeah, even more so in some ways,
the V10M5.
Like there's the, what's called the valve
stem seals thing.
Snokey.
He's our friend, Ooh, this from Ultimate Velocity.
He'll tear apart V10 like he doesn't care.
You could give him the biggest issue to do
with a V10 and I'll go, "That's fine."
You tell him about doing valve stem seals on
an S10, he goes, "Can you take that to someone else?"
Just grab it.
Also, it's the noise it makes.
It's not, it's a V8, but it's not like all other V8s.
It's not like the, even any other BMW V8.
It's not like MG V8.
It makes a very specific noise,
but I think it's related to the exhaust
manifold and the hot V in a few other bits,
but it has that almost McLaren,
sort of much higher end to the V8 noise where
it's not a deep grumble.
It's just got, oh, it's so good.
Hammer downpipes, the all big spools.
But that'd be lovely.
And they're getting cheap.
I have said, I've said the same,
moving on to mine, to be fair,
to both of Will's cars, cars that I've said I
would like to earn at some point in my life.
I think the prices are getting too much for
me on a mark on RS.
So I think I don't, I'm not sure I have a
Will, an F10 M5 I will own, an F10 M5 as well.
But this week, firstly, one that drove past
me yesterday, on the weekend yesterday,
and I was just out in town, and I heard a
noise, an unmistakable noise,
and what was behind me, but a TVR Tuscan.
And there aren't many cars, when we drive a
car, like the Corvette's S6,
I know you love it.
S6, S6, S6.
And I'd like to own one, but one can drive
past me and I'll go, yeah, it's those inner sixs.
Every time I see a Tuscan, I'm sad,
but I don't own one.
Like I'm legitimately like, man,
it's the same exact feeling,
all color.
It was the sword flesh blue,
it wasn't sword flesh blue blue,
it was like a silvery blue.
That was that, so many of today's money of
silver and blue, it was on getting onto the
A404, just coming off the M4.
Perhaps the same carbon, but yes,
that car, car, I have the same feeling with the Delta.
I'm sad that I don't have it,
that's my only feeling looking at it.
So that I have a really weird want for an Alpha GTV6.
Now, when I say that, I'm talking about the
80s, late 70s and 80s, GTV6,
the James Bond, GTV6, not the 90s,
2000s one.
I think they call it a Type 116.
We've been talking the next series that we
do, two car series, we want to buy Italian
cars, spoiler, spoiler, and drive them to Italy.
And they're going to be cheap ones.
And Italian, of course, like Jack Harlow says.
And I, my dream is to buy a GTV6,
but it needs to be a V6, not,
you can get a fossil in there.
So a bit of a small shout out,
if anybody knows of a UK, what spins?
Can we get one?
I don't know how much they are.
Are they in the budget of what the video is?
It would need to be a rough one.
That's not good.
No, it's not.
It's not from my own.
So yeah, no, exactly.
The best ones are rough.
Yeah.
So if anybody in the UK, it doesn't actually
need to be in the UK.
If anybody just knows of a running driving
L4G TV6 or an LFET of GTV6, the same chassis.
Similar continent would be.
Yeah, just not like America or Australia.
If you can be mainland Europe within a couple
of hours drive.
Africa.
No, no, not Africa, not North Africa.
Yeah, maybe Morocco.
If you got a GT6 and Morocco,
but I just keep having dreams of that,
of this is okay tech.
They do these wheels and they make them look like that.
I want it.
That's buso V6.
Buso V6.
Two and a half is the most of them.
And then in South Africa and some other
country, they got three litre V6's,
which have a bit bigger bonnet scoop.
But that I just as something about that.
And I know it would happen.
We buy it for the channel and I buy it personally.
I'd buy it afterwards, because it's just cool.
So GTV6 for me, Benjamin, we've given you so much time.
So many thinkings.
would like a clear.
No way.
Not a, not a, not a, just a base model.
Yeah, just a cat, actually.
Yeah.
A 197 or a
200.
I don't know.
After all, it becomes numbers to me.
I
don't, I can't visualize them.
The front end like will has or the front end
like I have on my mates one.
I'll get photos off.
Yeah, I don't know.
I offered you one.
I had a man who offered me.
I have them after the clear.
video went out.
I've been offered a great many Renault's and
it's been, it has been deeply upsetting to
have to say no to many of them.
Otherwise, I would just become Renault,
man.
Yeah.
I saw them again that you got offered.
There was a McGann that someone said,
do you want to buy this McGann?
It was a liquid yellow R27 F1 edition,
which is a limited edition F1 in the same
color as my Clio.
And it was, it took a great deal of restraint
to say, not today.
Thank you.
Thank you.
But no, thank you.
What's this?
That is a Clio II, however, like a one nine seven.
You'd like the face.
So preface the flight, what Will has?
You can get him cheap, Ben.
You can get him very cheap.
I can't, I'm not fresh energy yellow.
No, eight grand, no more cars.
No, okay, we're just, we're just theorizing.
I can't even, I'm, I'm fixed in the 50,000
one side of move.
Then it's just, and then I will,
and then I will.
Let's just play make, make believe.
I can't buy more cars.
I have no more.
What color?
What color is it?
I would like, I like the blue.
Now you, there's two blue or French blue.
I don't know.
Here's the metallic blue.
Oh, that's fat.
Look at the fitment.
Although, don't DeMiro would hate that.
No, he'd, of course, have never seen one of
those disgusting automobile.
Or Ben, there is this guy, racing blue.
Or we're not, he's not technically racing blue.
Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
no, no, metallic metallic metallic.
Okay, now, that's a good reason.
So I put a photo on the screen of the racing
blue clear, which is the gloss blue,
which Ben famously said, actually,
actually my silver car's better.
I don't like it.
I just don't like it.
I just don't like it.
So you like this blue.
That's nice.
I think it's Albee.
If that had no, like, had normal color brake
colors that weren't red.
Now, the funny thing is those are like,
I see those going cheap all the time.
Nobody really cares about this blue.
So, yeah, Ben, we can find you.
You can get it cheaper without the Recaro's.
Yeah.
Actually, you know what?
The original seats are quite comfy.
You could have mine.
We get a nice sorted clear.
I reckon we get a little few bits done on it ourselves.
Now, two and a half grand all in.
And it can live here.
It can live here, mate.
I can't store it.
I can't run it.
All
1:04:36 Forum Question - Wheel and Bill Car
right.
Okay.
If it's not a Clio for the one of the week,
obviously we're uncommitted to it.
Have you got a funny one or like a silly one?
A silly one.
Can we do a funny one?
That's not available.
Okay.
The wheel and the bill.
Oh, boring.
What's a wheel and a bill?
I forget what his name is.
It's a wheel and a bill.
It's good.
The man's name is usually goes in front of it.
Or a duck boat.
There you go.
Now, Will, you mustn't laugh at this.
Listeners, Will's going to describe what it is.
I've seen this photo a million times.
It's Oscar Meyer.
That's the one.
It's sort of a Frankfurter aboard a wedge of cheese.
I think it's a pothole bun.
It's supposed to look like a hot dog bun with
a Frankfurter inside.
Well, they failed.
That looks like I don't want that.
No, I was like as an actual car.
Has there anything you've seen recently?
You thought, oh, I can see myself in one of
those in my lifetime.
Now, sorry, just a quick one.
Well, doing Wienermobile research,
I found this and you mustn't laugh.
That is a mini Cooper miniature Wienermobile.
That's a Cooper S.
That's a Cooper S.
That is a supercharged-- That's quite nice.
That's googling cars right now.
Ben, Ben, you have to go.
It's now-- It's your own.
It's Joyce.
It's Esther Martin Vanquish again.
Ooh, a second generation vanquish.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
yeah.
Was you driven?
No, 312 vintage.
I've taken pictures of a vanquish,
an ultimate edition or something.
I don't care.
That's what you know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
No, I've been there one.
Sorry.
Okay.
Anyway, V12 V12-- I don't know why I'm saying it.
Now, we've asked-- We've asked this before.
You will give us the answer.
Let's do it.
Vanquish or V12 vintage?
It's going to-- Well.
There it is.
Now, I actually like the vanquish where it looks more.
Okay.
Proportions.
It's nice.
It's a proper cheap-- Long.
Grand Tour-a, if you will.
I will.
But you can't get manual.
No manual.
True, hard.
And also, I think the-- You need to row the gears.
I want to row through gears in my suit.
And I will say, as I think the vantage will
age better long-term.
10 years down the line.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't
know.
I think that second-gen vanquish still looks
very modern to me.
Whereas the V12 vintage-- I think we talked
about this a little bit earlier about something.
The V12 vintage will-- age, but well,
if that makes sense.
It looks like it's from the 2010s.
That's but the vanquish nicely.
Also, the interior is a little bit--
it's a little bit more dated-looking.
Or is I think that next-gen vanquish.
The kind of-- The kind of-- Yeah.
No.
Wow.
No.
He said no.
No.
No, Ben says no.
No, V12 answers.
I think I've done all the actual details of
it, but I know that the later ones have that
new interior.
Because I remember thinking this when the
current-- not current generation,
but the late 2010s, Aston Martin redesigned
and where they did all the stuff with Mercedes.
That interior, I remember when it came out
thinking, that looks way better.
But now, when they've aged, the older ones look better.
Can I look-- Can I look at you--
I think.
No.
I'd like to pitch you a thing.
Oh.
And I like you to-- I just--
I don't think I just need to answer it.
Sure.
Can you put a timeline on Aston Martin
ownership, please, for your life?
I want-- I want-- The creamers need to know.
We need to know.
Because then in 10 years' time,
when we make-- Oh, my God.
Ben bought his dream car at all two years'
time, or six months' time-- And then it's
time when you open the door and reveal your
new V12 on it.
It's not-- It's not.
Now, the issue I'm going to have is that the
bread's going to go up on them.
They're going to be more-- You don't know that.
Yeah.
They will be more.
Why is that?
Because they are a manual V12.
So-- Yeah, it knows.
They've got-- People have said that about me.
You know what people have said that about?
The Ferrari 550 Maranello, and then they
dropped to £25,000.
But-- Well, no.
But that was then another 10 years later.
Yes.
OK.
So where are we?
Bruce Logic fell off.
And I don't know age.
How old am I?
30.
I'm not 30.
No, you're not 30.
I'm saying by 30.
By 30, I'd like to have that.
By 30, Aston Martin ownership.
You could broaden your horizons a bit and
just say any assets.
30 would be-- Give it up for 57.
Yeah, but it's turning up in in line 6,
DV7.
No, it's 18 manual, V12 vintage,
and it's black.
And that's it.
So there are no other options.
I would like-- I don't think you actually get
this, but I would like one with a tan leather interior.
I'm sure you can.
Yeah, I'm sure there is.
So you're saying by 30, Aston.
Six years.
By 30, at 30.
Come on, we can make this happen.
It's all about, you know what?
I feel like if I go in the attitude that I
won't have on by 30, then that's a losing mentality.
I agree.
I need to-- Here's my question.
Go on.
What about a little crashed one?
I feel like you're not-- That's not--
No, I don't.
You want a nice one.
Ben would hate a shonky Aston.
It would need to be cheap.
Well, that's the issue I'm--
Even then it's going to be--
Ben wants a cheap one and goes,
"Why is this one cheap?"
I'm broken.
I know what's going to happen.
He's going to get the budget.
Be probably 40% short.
We're going to have to go out.
I've got-- Yeah.
Speak to-- Speak to people.
Sorry.
If I'm 40% short, I'm like 35 grand down.
[LAUGHTER]
Well, I'll go by once day then.
Shall I owe you 35 grand?
[LAUGHTER] That's Ben right now going,
"Right, I haven't read it yet."
He's just going to send us out into the world
and go, "Just find me one."
Yeah.
"Just find me one."
30 grand shorts go.
That is not what happens.
We're going to come back with an MGTF and go,
"Here you go, mate."
Here is your DB7 automatic.
By 30.
All right, let's, I compare the same game for you.
Six years time, you're going to be,
what?
17?
Yeah.
Well, you're going to be in six years time.
It's not true for you, bro.
I'll be pushing, bro.
Is it the big M?
It has to be, yeah.
In six years, it's the big M.
I have said to my brain, I have said to my
brain that's inside me in my head that by 40,
there will be a V12 Lamborghini in my life.
By 40.
acceptable.
I have to set that's a long amount of time.
Now, here's my question to you.
That's a long amount of time.
Eight and a half years.
Here's my question.
Will a normal
event at all cut it?
I do believe it might.
I am 100% sure to tell you it may do,
but it would not make me feel what a mercy
longer would make me feel like.
An event to do.
Mm.
Are you Northern Ben for a second then?
An event to do.
An event to do.
You got to be an event to do that.
An event to do isn't a million miles away
from your glottal.
I can't.
There's one part when actually events doors
are for a good one as well.
Really?
What we're looking at?
100 and off the top of my head,
the last time I looked, you're looking at 175k plus.
Plus I was thinking 100.
You're looking at like a 10 to 12 year old
car with potential.
You might need to do a clutch,
which is big.
That is the other thing with those cars.
Even if they become affordable,
they may not be affordable to do because
you're looking at 10, 15 red clutch jobs.
Whereas the glardo from what I'm looking at
and working on it recently, I'm not saying
it's affordable, but there's enough stuff
that's from Volkswagen and Audi that you can
actually maintain it yourself and it's not that bad.
Whereas that, when you get into the big M or
the big A, yo, it's mad for you.
So 40.
Yeah, by 40, that's why.
That is the goal I've set.
The doors must be going up.
The doors have to go up.
And in six to sort of seven years,
you're going to be dead.
35?
No, by the end of this year,
I want to earn a 550.
No, but that's not you're thinking,
you're thinking, you're
thinking, Elardo and Will thinking much Largo.
What's the next guy?
There isn't really one for me.
It's, you know what it is.
It's quite sad.
It's more tap.
It's, it's, it's more and more tap.
Is it a bar?
550 feet.
550 for me is I'm there.
I'm happy.
I'm bummed.
Is it a barn to keep in?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
No, that actually that's it.
There you go.
A barn.
So a barn by 35.
A barn by 35.
A bed-to-door V12 vintage.
Yeah.
A bed-to-door and, and some,
and a Cosworth of some sort.
Oh, okay.
You know what?
I'd be the unplaceable man.
The man with an eventador and a Cosworth,
and I know it'd be, it'd be Larry.
Yeah.
Someone would be like, so, so you're,
what, what are you?
What are you into?
What do you want here?
If I had, most of all go.
And then I like, maybe, actually,
no, you know what, an M3 in there somewhere.
Okay.
A couple of RS's, Mark I and Mark II,
Cosworth of the early early.
Oh yeah.
And then I got my score, Vayron,
and I've got the Olympic-sized swimming pool.
(laughing) It's a difficult brain to have.
Yeah, I heard.
Yeah, we've reached the end of the game video.
Yeah.
Which is, you know, it's about time we wrap up.
I think it's about time we wrap up.
Should we wrap it up?
Thank you very much for listening to this
episode of Cars Rule Everything Around Me podcast.
A little bit delirious, mainly brought on by
Ben's late ability to work on cars.
Do we all put back next week?
Oh, no, we'll be back on Tuesday.
No, sorry.
We'll be back.
We will be back next week.
And then you will also have a bonus episode
soon, potentially next Tuesday or when you're
listening to this.
Yeah, this coming Tuesday.
Sorry.
My brain doesn't work.
With Al Clark, a very cool man,
you'll see that soon.
And
even better, because Ben's not there.
I wouldn't be there.
Cream it.
Cream it.
Oh, that's horrible.
