0:00 Rule or Ruin: Edwin's Car Week

Atari Curry, a threatening newspaper,

and a biscuit to

round out the bay.

And for that 100 now, that's the next target

with myself, Will, Edwin to the right of me,

and then Benjamin to the camera,

who's very kindly come back again for a

second week of running after this.

You might become a regular after this.

Hopefully not.

At the beginning of every one of these

podcasts, we ask if cars rule or ruin

everything around us, Edwin,

what is it?

It's a ruin.

It's a ruin.

Because I haven't bought anything on the weekend.

That's what it's ruined.

On the weekend, I decided, right,

I want to get, I need to get going on some

cars and get some sold.

So I said, what I want to do,

I'm coming on my weekend here to the unit.

I'm going to quickly fix my driver's side

window regulator on the E36.

And then I'm going to get work to work on the

Evo two days of working on an E36,

well, both the E36 window regulators later.

No progress on the Evo, other than bleeding the brakes.

And I hate everything.

So I had to tape the window up because the

previous owner had been in there,

I don't know, maybe just put like a blender

in the window or something, just absolutely

mashed it all up.

So I thought that for a few days,

had to wait on parts.

So I drove the Mach 4 Golf that we bought at one point.

And then I took the RS6 home,

which is, I'm just, I'm on, I'm testing

everything out on press cars.

I'm on press cars, which we might have some

information on, but we may.

But yeah, so I've been annoyed by that,

but the E36 is back now, Kyle kindly came over today.

Well, I didn't have any time,

get a look at it, got it going through the runner.

And I think that's it.

I can't think that there's anything else I've

been on Sunday and I saw the E36 still here

and I sort of went, "Oh."

Yeah, no, it wasn't great.

I actually had to, Will's Range Rover was

here and I visited him on Saturday and said,

"Can I take your Range Rover home actually?"

And then I realized the golf was drivable.

So it's a ruin for that.

Yeah, no news on the 550 yet.

Jeremy's playing hot and cold with me again.

I'm waiting on him.

I mean, when everyone finds out it's Jeremy

Clarkson there, I'm going to be stunned.

Of course he would be, you know,

why wouldn't he be secretive?

Jezero, answer the phone.

Yeah, why are you in France,

mate?

I'll go with the rule.

Yes.

I think it will be a rule for a little while.

Not much can bring it down.

For those without eyes, I bet you said it's

on the edge of the screen, so not many people

can see it anyway.

You have a pipe next to you.

I've got a set of pipes.

There's a pipe behind the camera.

I have got a set of pipes, which I ordered

from a place called Top Speed.

There's an X-pipe for the Glardo,

so it should give me the exact nine I'm looking for.

It's just noise.

It's construction site going wrong,

where

it's just noise exceeding a sound limit.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

And then we took them out and afterwards,

I said, "Did I explain it right?"

And I was louder.

It's ridiculous.

It is officially loudest car I've ever experienced.

Can you hold just for the viewers,

can you just hold that up for people who are watching?

Ben, I'd like you to describe it for the

people not watching.

What does it look like?

Okay, imagine, it looks a bit like the...

Actually, Edwin's wearing a Jamericoi jumper,

a bit like his head of the logo.

Oh, it does, it does, it does.

I'd imagine an X in the middle,

and then the X, the top of the X,

the two bits curve around and come down.

like a downwards line.

I think it looks like it goes out.

I think it looks like an exotic metal insect.

Or perhaps, in the one that's been stamped on.

Yeah, exactly, squashed.

Like a far the long legs that has been squashed.

Imagine the future when we have robot like,

bulls and cows, and you go, ah,

trophy hunting, then you have it on your wall.

Why would you have robot bulls and cows?

What would you gain from them?

'Cause we mainly grow cows, as it were,

from the height.

Okay, you wouldn't want to say a robot cow.

Just decorative cows, is it?

Yeah, sure, I guess.

That'd be cool, wouldn't they?

decorative, like, everlasting long-life cows.

Imagine polishing your cow.

Will's the salesman.

Imagine everlasting cows.

God, how would we need it most to derail it

with one minute?

No, I think, I don't know why you'd have a

cow, but it'd be cool.

You know what?

I have one reason to ruin.

Here we go, sports cars.

I did bid on a new daily, and lost today.

Yeah, that was interesting.

It was, it's silly.

Yeah.

It was a

4:55 Ben's Failed CoPart Bid on Focus RS

Focus RS for sale, and it was green.

Which, if you don't know the green of a Focus

RS, it's green.

Now the reserve was exceedingly cheap.

You went below the...

I went three grand under reserve.

Yeah.

And then it sold for five grand,

more than reserve.

So I think the world balanced itself out in the end.

So I don't think it was going to happen.

But worth a pump.

I was willing to sell a Range Rover for that,

but very upset.

You can't have a Glado and a Focus RS in one week.

Obviously not.

Ultimate green Focus RS, a yellow

Lamborghini, and then a red clear trophy.

You've got the full traffic light.

I don't think you're in the color.

Everyone would hate you.

You're in your driveway.

You're the least liked human.

You simply can't leave your house inconspicuously.

Benjamin.

Hi.

What is it?

For me, it's a rule because my clear is back.

He is living.

Tell us about it.

Is it?

Does it drive how you wish it would?

No, I had his alignment, but it will.

Okay.

But no more overheating.

No, the heating.

New thermostat.

It was just a thermostat.

I don't know.

Okay.

He believes it's a thermostat.

He had it in over here once.

Great.

So that's always worrying.

But he had an issue where also the inside

would get hot.

There's inside the heater matrix as I can

issue that they have that's common.

Thought was that, which was an L,

because it's annoying.

Turns out it's just a little

climate control thing.

So it literally just unscrew that.

I'm sorry to put that back in.

What you're saying is you could have brought

it to a food and fuel.

No, absolutely not.

Okay.

And it didn't need a thermostat though.

Okay.

So that's back.

And now it needs an alignment.

Did you have a funny story about the alignment?

Yeah.

So you can tell it.

It's funny.

Yeah.

Okay.

Well, I went, I

booked an alignment for first thing on Saturday morning.

From a really reputable alignment shop,

right?

Like a

specialist.

But yeah, I felt like road racing.

I just needed to get, because it was set,

it was set up fairly recently,

like properly.

It's like a French sport name.

It's like a French sport name.

It was like "queak feet" or something.

Who knows?

I went down there just to get the toe into out sorted.

And actually it was a check to be fair.

It was to check.

I don't know.

I just wanted to get it done.

So I was

driving because I was excited.

So I drew it back on Friday

night from the place that had it being fixed.

And I was

like, I'm going to sell it and I drove it.

I was like, hmm, this thing's really good.

Anyway, I still don't sell it.

That's a side to point.

Went down to this unnamed place and it's like

a crossroads.

Emotionally or just a little bit.

Well, it became that way.

chaos.

There's cars pulling into other lanes.

I was like, what's going on?

Sounds like I've been a big old crash.

Okay.

Everyone was fine.

But there was two cars that were very clearly

written off.

Two people there that were quite shaken up,

quite upset.

I was like, this is crazy.

I'm just driving into this area.

Part of my car at this place went in.

The guy was like, mate, I can't do your alignment.

I was like, why is that?

I can't swap that out.

I was the crash.

Yeah.

Yeah.

I'm an on-call insurance adjuster.

I don't know whether they would work to do.

I don't know whether they were,

I don't know whether they were helping the people.

Everyone looked fine, but I couldn't work out

what he meant.

But for a minute, I just looked around and

went, that looked fine.

No, I wasn't, I wasn't going to argue.

I was like, all right, cool.

I'll leave.

But I don't know if he's going to rebuild the

car in the middle of the road.

He checked it.

He walked over to a completely messed route

and went, that's like two degrees of toe-out,

mate.

You don't want that.

Yes.

We've checked it.

It's out.

You know what?

Did that half a degree on the back spun out

straight away?

Yeah, I don't make a lot of it because it was

obviously a crash.

But no one did though.

I don't know the details.

It looked like it looked like a somewhat,

you know, it's a write off.

Am I allowed to tell the fact that you told

me on the phone?

You said the quite distraught young woman

that was crying about her car that was

crashed had sat in front of the door of the

unnamed organization and you had to step over her.

Well, it wasn't, he wasn't in front of the

door like where I had to step over her,

but it was, it was the point where I sort of

had to, I'll pull up my Clio,

which isn't that loud, but you know,

in that situation, you know,

look at it.

Did you get a bang down the shift?

I pulled up kind of somewhat looking like a

bit of a knob and I was like,

oh, I got out of the car, kind of confused.

And then yeah, they were like,

oh, by the door.

So I had sort of like squeezed past them and

just scooped shot in to get my alignment done.

And then, and then, and then to scooch back

out and leave.

But yeah, so I did get done.

But apart from that, I just drove it anyway.

So this week, I just didn't do it.

I'm not fused.

No, he said it would be like an hour or two

before we could do it.

And I was like, oh, time is my new year.

So next week, the Clio is back.

We're driving it.

It's going to be good.

I've already driven it.

But is in what once aligned you're gonna,

you're going to report back.

Oh, it should be like, it should be back to

how it was before the track day.

In June.

Okay.

So wait, it only took three months to put the back.

I should pray better because it's had the

engine sorted now.

So then it's for sale.

And then that's, yeah, that's my rule.

All right.

So that's two rules.

Two rules are going to ruin a classic.

You know what, a cream, a cream tail as old as time.

I like that.

I was just forgotten what I was going to say.

So let's just carry on to the anecdotes and news.

I love that.

No, that's what I was going to say is that

you are doing the classic.

You spend all the money on it and then selling it.

Yeah.

I was like, best conditioner.

Yeah.

I could have sworn we know

10:06 Forza Horizon 6 Confirmed for Japan

something that was not mine.

Wouldn't have, wouldn't have bloody thought so.

Also, I have worked out over the weekend.

I have a spreadsheet and I am losing money on that now.

Yeah.

So how's that possible?

We gave you so much free stuff.

Because not so not that much though.

No, it's not eight grand.

Tough.

That's, you know, Ben loves to twist the knife.

Yeah.

You've got a Lamborghini now.

You've got a Lamborghini.

I can be, I can believe you as much as I like that.

You're brokey.

Okay.

First on the list is completely out of date

and everyone's going to know about it.

Forza 6.

Hey is confirmed to Japan.

To

celebrate, we've got Forza Horizon 1 on the

screen, which I feel like we may have already

had gameplay off.

But yes, we have got there is a teaser of

Forza Horizon 6.

Quite cool.

If you aren't aware, if you're under a rock

or you're just not letting into gaming,

Horizon is a, is a Forza franchise.

A gaming franchise where you get put out into

the open world.

You can go do what you want,

your street race, you race on like mini

tracks type things.

And there's a good car list usually.

And everyone has always been asking,

when's, when's Japan coming?

And they go, it's soon.

And then they go, we're in Qatar.

And they just pull up with the most random like Mexico.

I was never expecting Mexico.

I wasn't expecting England.

I wasn't watching the trade of England.

They're going, what?

Why is it?

But alas, we're finally in Japan.

So is it?

Next year?

It's amazing.

Well, they said early next year they're going

to give like, I guess, game playing.

Because it wasn't a trailer.

It was basically just an announcement of

where it is.

But because basically it got leaked,

it got leaked that it was going to be in Japan.

So I think they kind of scrabbled something together.

But they have said that, oh,

no, I haven't forgotten what I'm going to say.

Sorry.

They've, one of the people high up has said

that they obviously can't give details,

but it is the biggest map yet.

And the city, I assume Tokyo will be very big.

So I do think the one thing that falls is

missing is the map is kind of average.

It's an evolution of the same map each time.

Yeah, that's the thing.

I want big differences.

I think from like one and two,

one and two were very different.

And then three was different,

but three, four and five are all versions of

the same map.

You see, that's all.

I've only played three, four and five.

So they're very, very similar.

Yeah.

But the maps aren't very big either.

Sorry, the cities aren't, they've never

traditionally been that big.

You can fly through the city in 15 seconds.

So it'd be cool if there is a bigger city.

Am I correct in saying that's Mount Fuji?

In the, in the, what's called the teaser of it?

Yeah, it would be.

I want to know is a kin to Mount Fuji.

If they're going to include a race track.

I've always thought that would be a little

bit like, I think the crew did that.

Yes, they had Luke and a Saker in there.

Yeah.

Well, you could, that's just cool.

Yeah.

Because obviously it's the whole thing is

it's free roam and it's street racing,

blah, blah, blah.

But if you could then go, right,

I'm going to an actual track.

Yeah.

Like an actual track.

If they can have like an official track for

Jimmy Kaido and then like, Sakuba.

Yeah.

Perfect.

That would be cool.

Literally perfect.

I still, I still think the crew as a concept

for a racing game is sick.

It's great.

It just, I still believe it was never

executed well enough.

You need to at least have the handling of Borsa.

I think, I found that I said this on the podcast before.

Need to speed mods for the car.

Forza, physics and driving and that sort of thing.

And then the crew map.

I'm there.

That's the best game.

Borsa is not great.

The handling is not great.

It's not simulation.

But it's better than fun.

It's not break to drift.

Yeah, exactly.

It's a lot, a lot of games like this are

normally arguments.

Acadias as hell.

The mods are not powered on Forza.

Yeah, but they're just, it needs more creativity.

I still stand by the crew in Europe would be great.

Because it's a similar size area.

And you could have, you know,

you could have.

You could have like, you could have the

Stelvio Pass, you could have it a

mountainous, you could have Gertwebs,

Monaco.

I don't really know what I even want from

Forza 6 in terms of like every now and then

pull up Forza.

Horizon 5, but I have everything was given to

me in that game.

So I am nowhere in terms of like the story,

I guess, like the actual leveling up.

I don't need to.

Because I have millions and I have every car.

The only thing I do now see,

there's lots of cars I really want,

but it is too much to do to get that car.

I recently bought Horizon, and I don't worry,

this whole podcast won't be about gaming.

I know a lot of you don't like gaming stuff,

but I bought the new Horizon,

and I was playing it, and I was overwhelmed.

I know I'm getting old, but I still play

enough games regularly to be pretty on it with stuff.

I've

got no clue what's going on.

What are these cards doing?

It's

also because I skipped through everything

that tries to teach me something.

I have to flip a card, and then I get a card,

and then I can go to a place,

and I can go within that place,

and then I can do a race, and that race will

give me a card that gives me a spin of a

wheel that lets me, what are we doing?

Is explaining a bullshit card game?

Right, we're going to play Horizon the card game.

I'm going to give you five cards.

I'm going to use one of those cards.

But one of them's a joker.

If you get a joker, you have to run around.

If you joker, you quit the game.

Yes, it's relevant to the listeners because

Edwin has famously to us off camera set many times.

The one thing that makes him angry in the

world is having a card game explained to him.

Did you say that you actually want to start

punching people when it happened?

I'll kill a man if they try and explain.

It just annoys me so much.

And then I'll snap, keep it.

Yeah, exactly.

If a card game doesn't just involve a simple

explanation this card does this.

If there's some sort of level where it's

like, but once you have six cards,

you may no longer speak to the minister.

You've become shut up, shut up,

play the game.

There was a time when there wasn't an office

conversation asked me to explain the game go

fish, which is very simple.

And I was fearful the whole time,

looking just

shag at me.

But to get back to this, Horizon One,

which is playing behind us, it's the least complex game.

It's turn up, have a shit car,

work, do load races, buy a little bit better

of a car, carry on, and what such.

I bought it, finished it.

I bought 360 recently.

Ferrari 360 and the Glaubre.

And the R8.

And the R8.

Well, have you convinced money just throwing

the cash around the currently?

No, this was 49 pounds, the 360.

I bought an Xbox 360 Elite because I was

like, I want to play test trial and limit it again.

'Cause there is all manner of good things in there.

But mainly Glaubre.

And also Merci Lago.

One of the worst Merci Lago models I've ever seen.

But it's too long, it's appalling,

it's just really bad.

But, and I also got, 'cause it actually came

with the Xbox was Forza 4.

So I think we've spoken about it a few times,

but I thought, 'cause test driver loaded up

and I was like, okay, it still looks okay,

but I'm not sure I could play it for that long.

It's a bit nostalgia.

I loaded up Forza 4.

It's still, I think that is peak car game.

It holds up, it always holds up.

The graphics are still good,

all the sounds are really good,

the physics are really good,

the car list is unbelievable.

And it's just perfectly playable.

Today, and also I went because obviously I

don't have an account and stuff and I started

a new one.

First cars you start with, it's like a Peugeot 107.

Yeah, and I go, like real crap.

Yeah, real crap.

And you can go and do like free play and

drive all the stuff you want.

Exactly.

But you start from the bottom.

And if you go, like in career,

work, go ahead and work.

Yeah.

And I remember that getting abuse at the time

for being like, this is way too easy.

You get to have a go in a car like 20 minutes

in, you get to go in a Ferrari.

Try now.

You're ridiculous.

Can I answer?

Start your starter car.

Would you like the P1 or the 918?

Can I say something controversial about Forza?

Here we go.

I actually, I prefer to not have seasons.

I prefer to have areas of the map that are like that.

So for example, Japan, now I don't know much

about Japan, but as far as I'm aware,

the very north of Japan is actually very cold

all the time, then you want Tokyo and that in

the middle, and then the South is very

beachy, and there's islands and stuff.

But if you had that as a map on Forza,

that'd be great.

If you guys should drive up into the snowy

area and then come down to the city and then

go to the top area.

It made sense.

The England, like perfectly,

because we have four very distinct seasons.

So you can play into it, you can have snow in

the winter, that sort of stuff.

Again, it gets long after a while.

Like the Mexico thing.

Oh man.

That's what I like.

When I load up TDU, and it just has a vibe.

The vibe never changes.

Even this, like this is Colorado in Horizon

One, and it has this like sun-soaked desert-y

feeling orange backing that's just perfect.

It always feels good.

Well, let me choose a season.

Mm.

'Cause I want autumn.

But I think we talked about this before.

If I choose winter and I'm in the snow,

you're much quicker if you're in summer.

No, but I mean, if you're offline,

you can just choose a season.

'Cause I don't want winter's fun for a bit,

then obviously it changes how you drive a car

and it's been annoying.

And then like, you know, if it's raining,

I can only skids.

I want to maybe I want to do quick bits.

I'd like to be in raining, please.

Give me the rain all the time.

We'll do some more news.

Ben, you've put in a Rivian or coming to the UK.

Yeah, which couldn't excite me.

No, but we saw all these in the US as well.

I put it in there.

These are for the listeners.

These are electric SUVs, but they're just

SUVs that look kind of futuristic.

I really like how they look.

I actually do like how they look.

The interior is actually pretty good.

Here's a photo of a human on the back of it.

Okay.

I think I like how they it's almost like a

cyberpunk Ranger of a classic is how I feel

like it looks in my head a little bit.

But yeah, it doesn't interest me very much.

the UK apparently and we saw it in the US and

the interiors are nice on those.

It's like Tesla if it actually had some

substance to it.

I have a feeling there will not be a very

high uptake in them.

I don't think so, especially because it'll

probably be expensive as any Chinese equivalent.

140 grand for something, you know,

they're a mirror.

Yeah, but nice to see a new car brand come

from the country that isn't,

you know, just like the Chinese SUV.

Because they have a pickup truck as well.

We're not getting those.

It's the R2, which is the smaller SUV.

So we're just getting the R2,

okay.

Yeah, 'cause R1 is based on the pickup truck.

Which I actually think looks a bit weird,

the pickup truck's cool.

Bama, we're getting off topic.

Is the Hutt?

Is the...

Are they homicides?

I think smaller.

I don't know.

I think, like, Range Rover stuff.

Yes.

I think that is probably range of sports.

Yeah, it might even be a little bit smaller than that.

Oh, okay.

Which is why I don't mind them.

They're not...

It's not the worst.

It's not...

I like it 'cause it's quite simple.

I don't like those front lights.

They do have.

Those are actually shocked front lights.

The only thing that I like a lot on them is

their colorways tend to be quite good.

They have like some nice deep purple,

some nice deep reds and some greens.

You could get, when they first came out,

I can figure out one, you can get a...

You can figure it.

Is that a word?

You can figure it out.

That's a disco five.

Yeah, there's a

dark green leather standard,

which for a new electric car company that

isn't happening.

You're getting black again gray and you're getting black.

The dark green interior, this one,

here's one I made earlier.

It would.

Yeah, cool.

That's, I mean, it's quite interesting.

Is it that one?

Yeah, yeah.

With a nice, a walnut wood.

That's a nice interior.

That person kicked up on the back of it.

It's chilling.

The car, this is the color I really like.

It's like a super deep dark green metallic.

That, I think, is a cool color.

But so, hey, new electric car on the map.

But quite nice.

Another one from you, Ben.

Ben, I was sessioning

21:23 Koenigsegg's Potential New Entry-Level Model

you.

Really, really taking his place.

I'm trying to start as part of this in place.

That was pretty good so far.

Yeah, I like that.

I didn't see anything bad on the brilliant

one or hear anything.

Can I start considering a higher volume?

Attainable car.

Yes, this is interesting.

So, Christian Von Koenigsegg has said,

now, this is the media.

So, he said basically, they quite like to

say, they quite like to do a Lamborghini spec.

So, it's not attainable to the actual car.

Life goes in a hurricane.

Maybe more than that.

I'm talking.

Or like a Euro.

Or like a real life road.

Oh, okay.

Yeah.

So, now, was that not what the Gomera was

supposed to

be?

No, the Gomera was just a four-seater one.

I thought it was still like,

ridiculously expensive.

Oh, because I always thought that was aimed

as like a, right, here's our entry-level thing.

Well, they originally, the Gomera was meant

to be a, because they have that

three-cylinder engine that can produce with

Dick's horsepower.

So, the, I don't remember if he said it or

the person was asking about it,

but that drivetrain, they obviously have

developed, would be quite good.

I mean, it's a three-cylinder,

electrified, but in terms of performance,

that, in, she was to make, in like a smaller car.

But yeah, he was saying the issue for them is

that, obviously, they are set up to

hand-build, like, 10 cars a year,

15 cars a year.

So, to shift to them, hundreds a year is a massive shift.

But if there's, if there's anyone that's

gonna do it, it's gonna be him.

He's gonna work out how to do it.

Now, I don't like it.

He should just sell the trees.

I don't, I think that when you have all the

heritage of Koenigsegg and having all of

these, all of these amazing hypercars,

then suddenly become a supercar brand that's

like, sort of fits in.

I get a commercial in this, my sense.

To me, it feels less special.

Yeah, it's like if Pagani came out with it.

But equally, you might say that about,

granted there was the jalper and there was

some smaller Lamborghinis, but like,

you could say that about the Gallardo.

Like, I get that, that's watering it down.

But when I don't think Lamborghini were ever

as, I don't think they were a hypercar.

No, exactly.

You'd never see Bugatti coming out with,

yo, we're coming out with a,

well, they did it in small quantities.

They tried to, they have the EB-12,

which EB-12, which was the four-door,

I mean, modern, modern Bugatti is more,

'cause old Bugatti, I think it was probably

more on the level with like a Lamborghini or

Ferrari, that kind of thing.

Whereas now they are above that,

where they're, they're the top speed guys,

there's a multi-million pound hypercar stuff.

I don't know how a, a more attainable,

I feel like like Bugatti or Koenigsegg,

or I don't know, even Pagani would actually go down.

I don't also think that,

Probably be popular.

Hypercars didn't really exist back in the day.

It was, you had your supercars and you had

like one above that, which was basically,

a more powerful supercar, but hypercars are

just ridiculous.

And also the, the playing field was now been

leveled in terms of power.

Like if you look at the average supercar now,

it's a thousand power.

So if you're bringing out, it doesn't,

it's not really, realistically,

I can only say, isn't realistically that much

quicker in the real world than any other supercar.

So what you have, you have your brand and

you've got, and they're making it mental.

Yeah.

So like, I can, if you look historically,

the, if you look at it from a business

aspect, the way any hyper, any luxury car

manufacturer has ever made money,

is to sell a cheap version of your premium car.

That is how Porsche survived by making a client.

It's a Gucci t-shirt.

Exactly.

It's the t-shirt that just says Gucci across it.

So that a normal person can buy it and go,

I have one of these rare things.

Yeah.

It's the exact same thing.

They will probably do big time numbers off

it, if they make a car at Hurricane or like

GT3 RS money, or let's even say,

Revuelto money.

Yeah.

'Cause enough people will go,

I've got a Koenigsegg.

Yeah, I've got a Koenigsegg.

I just don't like it.

I agree.

I'm the same.

I'm more tangled.

That dilutes the brand.

Yes, unless they come out with something,

I always think that brands like that might

eventually come out with more like driver focus things.

Like if they come out and said,

"This is your kind of watered down Koenigsegg."

Or it was VA or three cylinder,

whatever, but it's a manual and it's a bit

more old school type supercar.

Here's one for you.

Koenigsegg make a sister brand of Koenigsegg,

which is--

Which is called Egg's, called Egg.

Yeah.

The Koenigsegg is just Egg.

It's just Egg.

And that would be a, that could be those cars.

To me, that's--

Oh no, sorry.

No, I'm saying that's what they should do.

That's what I prefer.

Because granted, right, you don't have

initially the--

It's a car.

No one's gonna go, it's a Koenigsegg.

Yeah.

But you could go, everyone who is in the cars

and would buy one.

From a team that brought you Koenigsegg.

Yeah, it's 2DC.

It's 2DC.

That would be cool.

Yeah.

Yeah, hopefully we get Koenigsegg 2DC.

Mm-hmm.

We got Koenigsegg 2 before GTA 6.

Crazy.

Crazy.

That's crazy.

It's not a wild.

And more news from you, Ben.

I think that all the news might be you.

I'm just gonna say all the news is Ben.

Newsweek, Ben.

Here's what I do now.

I have a new system.

I see it come off my Instagram feed.

I then, I then somewhat research it.

You know research.

And then put a link in the chat with it.

Lovely.

Ben, next week, I'm going to transfer this

news bit to you.

You're gonna take over the news,

Ben.

You will just give us the news.

Wow, I've come so far from my life.

I will do the anecdotes after your news section.

All that time ago from Volvo,

we'll be making Square Boys.

I still buy that.

That was a good AI image.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Not much has come of it.

Next G.R.

86 and MX-5 will be the same car.

Now, I don't understand this.

What the hell?

Apparently, they're joint developing it.

So when you say that, so what I assume that

means is that it is GT86 and BRZ,

it's a joint car that is pattern engineered.

I'm gonna pull the article up so I don't get

it wrong because this is the one that--

Ooh, it's all I could get wrong.

It's crumbling down.

The pressure I've laid upon these shoulders

is already ever bearing.

Part two informative, this podcast.

People are switching off going,

look, I didn't come in for a car podcast.

Look, I did come in for facts.

I came in for eggs and bullying.

I came in for eggs and I'm one of the best

misinformation.

(laughing)

You're locked in here with Ben.

(laughing) Here we go, Ben's on a big read right now.

So it is a rumor, as the pressure said that.

(laughing) But apparently they are both being

developed currently and they may share the

same platform, same engine, who knows.

But apparently the rumor is that they will be

basically the same car joint developed.

But I also read that they will be they will

be developing their own engines,

is it just a platform thing.

But I don't think it will be a case of just

bad engineering where, like a Fiat 124 Spider.

That's why I thought it might be.

I don't think it will be that,

I can't imagine that.

Okay.

Because they're also so different.

You've got a boxer engine and just a four-cylinder.

Well, and also a coupe versus a convertible,

'cause then it makes five beats a little.

Who gives on that one, is it?

I guess it's a Z4 Supra.

Yeah, there's so many.

Where the Z4s are a very handful.

That's a good point.

But commercially, surely, commercially,

gonna go on master side, because they're

gonna sell more MX-5 from the RGR-86s.

I don't, is that true?

I think so.

In my brain, I see as many new GR86s as I see.

Oh, no, I see way more MX-5s.

I think I do as well.

I see new ones.

I'm talking brand spanking new,

25, 24, whereas I've seen quite a lot of GR86s.

I feel like it's my mumble.

But that's all from the MX-5s.

She's not gonna go out and look at a GR86,

because that's, I think the average punter

feels a bit more like a sports car,

whereas MX-5 is like, I don't get the roof

down and, you know, I enjoy it.

Yeah, I think you do it.

And MX-5 still has the, the mass appeal of,

I want cheap sports car, brackets,

it's not sports car.

I wanna see the numbers.

Let's have a look.

Any of our people's.

Please, if you speak of the numbers.

We need to speak with, to fill time.

What I was just reading about is that,

you know, obviously the, I guess it's the

previous or the current generation of MX-5

was built with the Fiat-124 was built on

that, basically, is that it was meant,

it was gonna be an alpha.

Really?

Yeah, wow.

Like an alpha spider, that I would have liked

to have seen, like, quite nice chassis.

There's so much alpha making an engine.

Little V6 in there?

Yeah.

Yeah, we could.

'Cause I always thought the,

what was it, that a bath, 124,

was quite interesting.

But I never see them.

They must be one of the rarest cars of one time.

There's one guy near where I live,

who I think has one, 'cause I think he has one.

Well, sorry, he has one.

What I'd say is, I think he lives near me

'cause I've seen him a lot, but I see that

thing, and apart from the weird parts that

are like wrapped in mat, I quite like it.

Yeah, 'cause it's meant to be old school,

a bath.

Bath type stuff, we'll like the black bonnet

and whatever else, but I always think they,

'cause they got the 1.4, I think,

turbo engine, so they sound quite,

well, here's a

29:40 GR86 and MX-5 Joint Development Rumors

journalist word.

Parpee.

And they have some very classic,

ridiculous exhaust, for no reason.

Now, GR86 was discontinued in 2025,

and the end of '24, so there were 855 sold in

'24, but 23, there were 4,000.

Oh, well.

On the flip side, supposedly in the UK,

5 sold 25,000.

Jesus Christ.

So, I think they're made, they're making

Arnold 2 more.

Mazda got the bargaining power there.

Yeah.

What's that, MX-5, that generation's been out

since, what, 2015?

Yeah.

Just 10 years and no facelift,

just they're going, yeah, keep buying these.

Japan.

But that's, hey, that is the classic way.

Yeah.

I'll say 5, look at that going.

Andy, you're only halfway there.

Andy started in model year 2016,

until present.

So, we're coming up on 10 years now.

That's crazy.

I do quite them.

I don't know, they can't even be that different.

I'm sure they are, I'm sure they've got more

screens and stuff, I don't know if they've

actually, we think over 10 years,

you think--

I think the GTR went from like,

I don't know, like 480 horsepower,

you've got like a 600 and whatever.

And now it's like, no, you have,

is it gonna make five?

That's it.

I think they are nearly identical inside.

I don't think they've really changed at all.

The next five?

Yeah.

Yeah, my stepmom had one for a few years,

but that's when he's 17, and her one is the

same as the current generation one.

I think maybe the screen's a bit different

apart from that.

Yeah, but it's nice though.

It hasn't changed the layout.

No, it's got a new screen in it.

But I'll notice you, it doesn't really need it.

It looks quite modal still.

Yeah, I drove an orange one.

And that's it?

That's the end of the news.

I can't remember, it was a special one.

Did you have a screen of rails?

A Recaro, it's usually the orange ones.

And the MX-5 Recaro.

He had special wheels that are apparently

exceptionally expensive, and he was very,

very protective of them.

And it still had all the stickers on the

sales, which really made me feel quite uncomfortable.

And he also instructed, this guy may well be a listener.

Sorry, 30th anniversary edition.

I'm right to you.

Yeah, a bit like that.

One of those, yeah.

And it was good, the engine was great.

And the

chassis was wonderful.

But this guy was so protective of it,

that he taught me how to get in to avoid the

bolsters on the seats, which I thought was a

static stream.

Was it a convertible?

As in a soft top.

Or as an RF?

Did it have flying buttresses?

I think it was a convertible.

I didn't see any buttresses.

Behind me, any buttress buttross?

I didn't see them.

For your next piece of news,

Ben.

Hi, welcome back to the Ben's News Corner.

Welcome back.

BNC, the BNC, BBC.

That probably has a brilliant coverage.

Ben's brilliant

coverage.

You knew Cayenne interior.

Here's what I've

been, have you?

I saw this today, it's got an ounce today.

And I kind of thought, if you're gonna put

screens everywhere, it's quite an interesting

way of doing it.

I like how that middle screen curves around.

No, as in this screen.

Yeah, the middle screen, you know,

like most cars I go, take the old layout and

we'll just put iPad in middle.

And then they went, no, that's looking,

it's looking to old fashioned,

right, make it portrait, make it longer.

Whereas that, they've gone, I'm gonna go

longer, I think the cloud control is now in

part of that, which is not hateful.

But in terms of the angle of it,

I like how curves range.

I don't know what you mean, do you mean like this spot?

So for those of you listening,

we've got screen, a curved screen in front of the driver.

Then, in front of the passenger,

where your glove box would be,

we've got a wide screen there for the passenger.

And then in the middle, where your normal

screen would be, you've got an iPad.

But then going down from that,

it curves 45 degrees down with another

screen, which is your climate control,

so does you?

I would imagine so.

Yeah, it looks like climate control.

But you know, I think that's a smart way of doing it.

No, I think you should just put bats in.

I'm very surprised at car.

Maybe there is data to suggest the majority

don't mind it, but I think for the most of

the people I've spoken to, they hate it.

May I suggest something in a touch screen?

I know you can fit more into a touch screen.

I thought we were about to get a witch,

a witch's, a child to go to.

Two screens, two screens, just another image.

Can you, can you screen just such up the new

Mercedes GLA interior?

Because this is why I thought of this.

It's just one long, wide screen,

that's it.

That to me is better, 'cause it's at least,

I really hate.

I don't know, I hate when a touch screen is,

it looks like a big touch screen,

but it's actually three different ones.

At least, it requires some innovation to have

made a screen.

A big old screen.

I don't like it.

Do you know what, we have a complete opposite

opinion, so I think that's a thousand times

worse than the Porsche one.

The Porsche one, I don't like the passenger

screen, that's weird, but, pardon that,

I thought it was all right.

No, I think between those, I agree with Will.

That's just nicer, it's long bore.

For for listeners, sorry, this is a,

this is a, imagine from your left air vents,

air vent is just screen.

One big screen?

It's one large, long wide, boy.

That's yeah.

If you're gonna have it, I would like it to

at least be one unit.

I don't want 70 different, I don't want Iron

Man's Jarvis, you know, I don't want 40

different things blinking at me.

It's like a multi-screen, like a laptop,

you have to drag things into it.

Yeah, I don't want what I'm doing right now,

I'm pulling things from one screen to the other.

But it's, I can live with screens for like,

nav and stuff, but if you're doing it for

every day, day to day, yo, you've got even

this, the XFR that we have behind us,

we haven't actually mentioned yet,

that 2010, this car is, that has heated

seats, you can do the temperature on the

button, and you can do fan speed on the buttons.

But there are.

But things like heated seats and a couple of

other bits, I think like sitting auto,

and actually, you know, auto might be about as well.

But there are feeders in there that are only

on the touchscreen.

And the touchscreen has a little bit of a touchscreen.

Yeah.

Sometimes the touchscreen has issues,

which means you can't get to it.

Men, you're just left with nothing.

Yeah.

Final piece of news that I don't think you

know about Ben.

No, it's sad.

It's always been there.

Yeah.

There's always been a

focus ST.

I was gonna, I'm the same.

This is a Mark IV.

That is a.

It's not Mark III, it's the next year.

It's

a Mark IV, yeah.

It's a Mark IV.

So the last focus ST is

gonna be the Mark IV, and I feel nothing to

the three or four.

Mark II ST, I love it.

Mark I ST 170 and RS, I love.

But I felt nothing to this until I went to

pull this image up.

And this is the image of the last ever focus

ST on the production line.

But in the window is a, like a printed out

thing, I think clearly saying the last ones

here, but they have got the original focus logo.

And the moment I saw that, I was sad.

I was like, oh man, that's my whole childhood.

It's just focuses.

The amount of times I got carted to a leisure

center or to the cinema in the back of

someone's mom's focus.

That's really sad.

It made me write like literally in terms of...

My mom has always had folds.

My girlfriend currently has a Ford Fiesta and

has always had folds.

And now I feel like I need a Ford again or

some sort, not just a run of the mill,

just or something.

Funnily enough, we may actually have some soon.

We got contacted by a very cool person at

Ford who said, "Hey, I like your podcast.

I like your videos.

Would you perhaps want A to have a look

through our heritage fleet?"

Will, I think we will come do that.

But you also said, "Look, if there's a

long-term loan car, we might be able to swing

one for you."

So we're very excited.

We may finally have a reliable mode of

transportation for trailering cars.

Or two.

Or two.

So very excited about that.

We'll explain more if anything comes of it.

Because in the meantime, no more Fiesta,

no more Focus.

Sad.

Very, very sad.

We may have to buy it at some point,

a mark one or mark two Fiesta and get

37:27 Last Focus ST Mark IV Announcement

it going and try and drive it to Cologne.

They're right still.

It's not ST.

No, yeah, there's a normal Focus.

I mean, like performance ones that we care about.

Realistically, he's probably is signing

things to come maybe.

They're all one liter EcoBoost stuff,

as far as I'm aware.

But anyway, quite sad.

But I mean, although you cancel by a Mustang,

which I was surprised at.

True.

Obviously you've thought of getting rid of

all the sort of STs and this kind of stuff,

but you can still buy from them a five liter,

naturally aspirated V8.

Which when I think about that,

it feels like it's not, no one else is doing

that, not in this country.

But at the same time, you can't get rid of

them from America.

So they have to stay.

Does that mean the PUBRESTE is going to stop?

Because they have a different engine.

They have like this engine, I believe.

They have, this is a four cylinder.

Where they have 1.53?

They have the 1.53 cylinder,

which was in the Fiesta ST.

But yeah, I've been looking at the Mark

sevens, because they're coming down to a,

Mark seven Fiesta to me is still new.

I see someone in Mark seven Fiesta,

I think surely he's got that on a 800 pound a

month finance deal.

And he's 17 years old.

But we're looking at like 11 year old cars now.

Yeah, it's crazy.

It's ridiculous.

And they're like three grand.

Some of them.

But I think possibly the Pima logically would

stay, right?

Because the issue is no one's buying Fiesta's

because they're not crossing.

No, I just meant the Pima ST.

I didn't know if that engine crossed over to

this, but no, it doesn't go into Fiesta.

Yeah, that's a four, that's like a two,

two, three.

I don't know, someone is going to know more

than me about new cars.

And what's up?

These are supposed to be very good to drive.

This podcast has been very car nerdy.

Yeah, we don't have to dial it back for this last half.

You can also get one of those with a limited script.

Oh, that's quite kind of a version of this,

with the limited script.

I've never had any tags in the corners.

Did they still offer the Moundtune packages

in this Moundtune would do something?

Interesting.

I'm sure they would.

Oh, that was what we saw in the,

as soon as we got contacted by Ford,

we've had a chat with the guy from Ford.

It's funny because you make for yourself that

it has to go into there.

We immediately started thinking about the heritage fleet.

and the heritage center.

We might have even been researching it while

we were on the phone with him.

Yeah.

There was actually Alex did a video at Car

Throttle where he drove the new RS at the

time, which I think was 2015,

2016.

And the RS 500.

And then an RS 500, which is the limited

edition, five still in the version,

but he also got to have a look around the

heritage center, if you like,

which is, I love it because it's not,

most are like heritage fleets are very keen.

The best of the best.

Everything's very shiny.

And though these are like, these are low

mileage, clean, clean ones, they're under,

they're under top.

And it's in this really old looking world

shop and there's transits everywhere.

There's Model T's over there,

but there's Escort Cosworths,

there's Mark 1 Escort Rally Cars,

they're a Ford GT.

It's one of the coolest.

It's like a made up movie scene.

Yeah, it is.

It's like make up old workshop in movies.

It's, you'd walk in and there would be an old

guy that goes, ha, she's taking a fancy to

that one, huh?

There's a guy just wrenching up on it.

He's not doing anything.

He's near the noise going, he's got overalls

that are seemingly covered in oil,

but from nowhere.

No idea where it came from.

But there's also one in Cologne.

Yeah, so that's what we really want to go there.

Yeah.

So there's a Mark II ST just posted up,

preface.

Just an orange, Yobospec, Mountune tuned,

Focusista and many things.

I just want, we just want to have a look around.

So if you haven't got back to us for yet,

let's come on.

Let's get it going.

We'll buy a Ford especially for it.

Anyway, goodbye, Focus ST mate.

It's been good.

So I think that's all for news.

counter anecdotes, things and stuff.

And we'll kick off with the funny one.

Is this the Toyota 3M R2 itself?

It's a

41:08 Toyota MR2 for Sale with Curious Photos

good price.

So we've been sent another car for sale.

Kyle Berryman.

Thank you.

It's a 1997 Toyota MR2 2.0-litre GT.

Now that's a GT.

That's one of the nicest specifications.

That should in theory have T-tops.

We're talking about an SW20 car enthusiast's favorite.

It's not really nice.

Can we see a photo there?

We can see a photo.

I'll just pull it right off here.

(laughing) Now, we talked about what it might

be and you think it's a basically a red tire.

I think it's a tire-red curry,

because you can see the peppers in there.

You can see the peppers.

We'll reckon it's butter chicken,

but I just-- I think you're possibly wrong.

I think you're right.

I think it's a tire-red curry.

So for those of you that aren't aware,

there is just simply a photo,

it's same as before, of someone's countertop

of a curry that they have been cooking.

We've got bits of chicken.

We've got some red peppers.

We've got some green peppers in there,

lovely.

Maybe an onion.

Are these sweet corn just off camera hair?

We've got some sweet, yeah, which is a

classic ingredient of a tire-red curry.

Are these weird little corn guys?

Oh, so a baby corn.

Baby corn.

Not a sweet corn.

Now, I'd like to say another favorite.

There is one more.

Sorry, just looking at us.

We've just got a pen that we've got some

bananas, which are looking like...

Now, bananas were also in the back.

No, possibly not.

Well, bananas in the background are the other one.

No, eggs.

That was just the eggs.

But they're now originally the Saab that we

laughed about.

They just had one photo of steak eggs with nothing else.

There was no other context.

Whereas this person has been kind enough to

give us a bit more context.

We've got one photo of the Tiger and Curry,

and the other photo is of a circled

newspaper, which feels a little bit serial killer-y.

Yeah.

It feels like you're a victim and you're

trying to send a message, you know what I mean?

And the bit circled, I'll read it for you.

You're much more innovative if you think

you're about to be shot, he said.

Now that is sending a message there.

Who did the shooting?

That's my question.

Well, my question is, have you seen the third photo?

No.

Did you send us in?

I did.

I didn't see it.

I didn't know what the same person sent us to me.

I had the sent me as well.

Mr.

President.

I sent you.

There has been a

third photo.

Sorry, I should've done this before.

Now,

this is a live cream reaction.

I only saw these two photos,

which are so different.

What is that?

(laughs)

Shout-out!

No, you're so cute.

Are they biscuits in a jar?

Those are wafer biscuits with chocolate on top.

Now, what's the brand of those?

Those are the ones that make the,

what they're called?

Chocolate biscuits.

I believe that's possibly like a millionaire

shortbread type biscuit.

No, no, I've had these, it's wafer.

But what's the spit in the middle here?

It's a triple layer.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Like a new gar type, please.

No, it's chocolatey.

Like a praline.

It's a, what is it, lemon, is they make?

A chocolate lebniz.

Oh, it's called, it's called,

it's called a balsen.

A balsen.

A balsen, that's a chocolate lebniz.

You know what, cream got there.

Fantastic.

Don't test us on our biscuits,

'cause we're gonna get that.

But these are good at these,

and they're good, and that's just for just 2,995 pounds.

You could have yours too, along with the newspaper.

Now, and along with, what was it they want?

If it, Tyra Curry.

A Tyra Curry, a threatening newspaper,

and a biscuit to round out the day.

Now, if there isn't anything better than

that, I don't know.

So, these photos are in the middle of the end.

Oh, they are in this, so they were just...

They were, that was the car as well,

yeah.

It's a, you know, it's a, you know,

James Bond, goes to like a random phone box.

I mean, like a button that it's a secret door into level.

That's what these are here for.

It's a secret code.

Someone goes through the toilet,

GT and goes, "Hey, so hold on,

Tyra Curry is the newspaper."

And then the chocolate biscuit,

he's in Berlin.

We must go to Berlin.

So, that's good.

Anyone, also again, if you find this ad,

please do not go and abuse them.

These are likely old people.

Yeah.

Now, use it to your advantage.

I'm not, you know, I'm saying don't abuse

them, but, this person may be more willing to

take an offer because they might not be that inclined.

They may not have that many people.

I mean, look at it.

You know, perhaps you don't have to be the

most ethical person.

And a little lowball.

But let's not be a clown.

Yeah, don't abuse.

You may be an ethical, you may lowball all

you want, but no clown activities.

And to be fair, I guess if you do negotiate a

deal, you might be able to get some biscuits

in a deal with it.

Oh, man, if I could negotiate a Tyra Curry

into my car buying deal, I'd be exceedingly happy.

I'd bless you, Benjamin.

Bless you again.

Let's keep it down.

I shouldn't sit on camera.

We don't sneeze it?

Okay.

No.

Okay.

Okay.

Now for another thing I've put on here is Galardo bagged.

Yes.

Now not bagging my Galardo, but I believe,

I can't actually remember mentioning it,

but apparently I did, is there was a yellow

manual Galardo that is bagged,

and I spoke to the owner a couple of months

ago,

45:53 Facilitated Yellow Lamborghini Purchase

I think actually now, about potentially buying it.

And it just couldn't, it wasn't for me.

I'm quite the two modified, it's on bags,

it's had like a splitter on it,

and a few other bits, it just wasn't for me.

And after I mentioned that I bought my one,

which I've just recently bought,

I got, I haven't told anyone that.

I got a message from a guy that said hello.

I am also collecting a Lamborghini Galardo in

yellow manual this weekend.

Now, not only my first thought was where the

bloody hell was that for sale,

because I know every single Galardo manual for sale.

Will I do it when?

Has he found one?

I didn't know that.

When he said yellow, I was like,

that is no way.

I know, I know, I know.

When one of these comes up for sale,

I know.

And then he said, no, I was listening to the

podcast, and you mentioned a Galardo on bags.

I didn't mention any names.

So he went into detective mode.

He found this man on Instagram,

who is fairly active on Instagram to be fair,

started chatting to him because this guy also

wants a Galardo.

He thought his budget would be more than an e-gear car.

He gives the firepower automatic one,

which tend to be a bit less desirable,

more common, but really wanted a manual one

in that color.

And he has bought it.

So we can just say right now,

Cream has facilitated another yellow

Lamborghini purchase.

Sorry.

So if you are looking to buy Lamborghini,

listen to the podcast on the Cream podcast,

and we can make it happen.

Of course, we can make your dreams come true.

What was the guy's name?

His name is Max.

I think his name is Max.

Creamer of the week, buddy.

Congratulations on your Lamborghini Gallardo.

It's quite strange.

We've been chatting for the last week or so

about Lamborghinis.

And again, he's in a similar position.

This guy's changed.

He really has.

Lamborghinis bidding just randomly on a,

what is it?

Tuesday?

On an RS?

To be fair, that's actually my fault,

because I saw it come off on the D-Roxel.

I went, "Will, what if I told you there was a

green focus RS?"

Will's got a side hustle going somewhere.

And then Will was like, "No,

I can't."

I looked on our email that we share last

night and it said, "Covertical report has

been running for a few seconds."

I was like, "Okay, okay, he's looking at it.

He's looking at it."

I sat in bed staring at it going,

"I don't, I shouldn't, but I could."

But yeah, very, very cool.

He is turning it back to stock.

So I think he's got original wheels now on

it or are going on it, original suspension to

go on it.

I think he mentioned it's also basically as

loud or almost as loud as my one.

And it's also a real drive.

That's cool.

Which is, the video is a full drive.

Somewhere on his, on, this is Luke,

right?

There's a video on his Instagram of doing

some donuts in it.

And that's cool.

Yeah, that's cool.

Real drive, Glado in manual.

So hopefully, maybe when we do a little cream

meetup at some point.

Which we're going to do.

I would quite like to get my one side by side

with that one.

And many, if any other people have Glado.

You know, Ben, will, you know,

we'll, we'll, we'll, we'll park our coding

sex together mate.

We'll, you know, the other one's the new cheap ones.

No, no, the expense we're buying,

we're picking those up next week.

That's Christian.

Sure.

You both go in the Gamera.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Yeah.

All four of us in the Gamera.

Now, I'm going to assume this is a want of

the week this car you've put in here,

Ben.

Oh.

Is that, is that what you wanted me to tee up here?

I don't know.

It's a, it's a, it's a Z4.

Yeah, I want a Z4.

All right.

And that one's the next one.

I think I like that.

That's good.

I like one.

I've been looking at them, but.

Now, we've been, you know, for lack of a

better term, we'd never use,

you know, with a colleague this,

this time in real life.

But yeah, bullying.

Ben, about what?

by next.

And it keeps saying it's an S2000.

No, it is an S2000.

Nothing could possibly, I like a Cayman.

Do like a Cayman.

We go, is it Cayman or S2000?

He goes, nah, it's an S2000.

Now, let me tell you what really is.

I will only ever have an, I actually quite like Z4's.

Tetel's nice.

Yeah.

Maybe the N54 one.

Maybe not.

Maybe not.

Well, I didn't know I had to be a one trick

pony for you guys.

No, I like, for me right now,

what I really, really, really want is a Cayman.

Okay.

That's why my new has a lot of dreams.

Well famously, I don't, we had that car.

But that's what I'm saying.

It's like, this is my dream car.

And it goes, no, my dream car's changed.

No, my dream car is a.

That's why.

Because he never has the dream.

He can't dream about it.

How come I have dream cars without dreams?

At my current stage in life,

these are the cars that I really want.

Okay.

But are somewhat attainable.

Yeah.

The Cayman, I can't afford the one I want.

So you want a 3.4?

I want a Cayman S, which is 3.4,

but they're also a bit blowy up.

The maintenance you're still buying Porsche

parts, no matter how cheap the car is.

Of course.

S2000 is the one that I think I probably

could get at the minute as the next car.

But you want a very specific spec.

I want a specific spec for it to be perfect.

And also, I want a nice one.

I've said many times, I don't want a deal

with lots of issues.

I don't mind a few small bits,

but when it breaks, it annoys me.

So to get into an S2000, I could probably do.

To get into a nice S2000, I can't currently do.

Right.

So for me, I was on his M4s because I was,

what was M4?

It tickles your pickle.

A ropey S2000.

I could get a pretty nice S2000.

So I'm thinking possibly, possibly,

I'm just thinking about the Z4.

Well, what kind of Z4?

I was looking at it as a Z4 as the next

stepping stone, and then maybe we'll get a S2000.

I'll just enjoy the Z4 for a bit.

I'm going to say something.

You don't want.

No, if you buy a Z4, you won't buy an S2000.

Why?

Because you'll go, it's too similar.

It's the equivalent to right now swapping the

Clio for A 206 GTI.

You wouldn't do it.

That's a good point, and it's fair.

But at the same time, they're in a similar

playing field issue.

Because the worst here, I could buy a Z4.

What's Z4?

I will ask for, I think, the final.

A three liter.

Yeah.

So you have, okay, good.

But there is another point here,

which we can get to after this.

But I can get a decent Z4 with some nice mods

all in, and I'll have a nice working,

happy car.

Whereas for an S2000, I'd have to be in

somewhat sad town for a while.

Of course, to make, you know,

they'll be rust.

They will be definitely rust.

No, no, that is not necessarily true,

because that is where you're looking at the

market right now.

The beauty of cars is that every day,

another person gets fed up with their car and

puts up self.

Yes.

So right now, the other thing is that most of

the S2000 that are listed right now aren't moving.

They're not selling because that's not,

they're not actually worth people putting

them up for more than they're worth.

I

don't think it will, but it will.

That's my point.

That's

the thing with cars.

Yeah, but if that does happen,

it will

have an issue.

Because they don't

sell at 15 grand.

Because a smart person

who actually wants to sell their car goes on

and looks and sees, that car's been for sale

for two months at 15 grand.

Clearly, it's not worth it.

Realistically, I think in S2000 right now,

an average OK one is going to be 10 to 12 grand.

Not true.

It's not because I've been watching them.

Because I like S2000.

Yeah.

And a good working car that needs no rust

work, you can find for seven and a half to eight grand.

Why have I not got one on my driveway?

Because we send them to you and you go,

no, that's too much.

No, that's not true.

That can open the wallet.

No, it's glued shut.

No, you've been sending me ones that allow on

Copa and crashed.

No.

Well, yeah, that for from a channel

perspective, but we found ones the other day.

We found ones on auto trader that were for a good price.

What about the Cayman?

I see far too many Cayman's on the road for

them to be like all of them dying.

Yeah.

So it's a rare start that it's also it's the whole thing.

For me, right now, I'm still 23,

ensuring one running one.

But what I'm thinking is you're thinking of a

three litre Z4.

Yeah.

Now, although this is an older car,

I believe, than the Cayman.

I don't know if the running costs would be

that different.

But in terms of fixing it would be.

How often do you think can be fixed?

Unless it's an engine blow, it's going to be similar-ish.

I think your like design 911,

they have very good support for or like

aftermarket discs that don't cost too much.

Like I'm going to have a look at now at the carry-on.

Perhaps there are some, perhaps there are

some listeners out there who've been in a

similar situation because they are.

That is a perfectly normal question that

someone might have.

They're looking for a two-seat sports car or similar.

They're looking at S2000 Cayman Z4.

That makes five.

But I think if the Cayman is the one you

want, I know it's probably more expensive

though, right, than an S2K or a Z4.

3.4 would be a less would be.

I think your path should be this.

The Z4 right now, maybe.

The little Z4, to get you in the 6L of the two.

And you want a coupe or not?

I want a coupe, but then you get into the

thing of it not really being my logic of it

being a nice one for the price of a bad S2000.

It doesn't make sense because the coupe is

more expensive.

So it'd be a convertible in this situation.

And then make your way to the Cayman afterwards.

Because the Cayman, I think going from Z4 to

the Cayman should feel different because it's

mid-engine and it's Porsche.

all drive a little bit more,

a little bit different compared to an S2K and a Z4.

That's a fair point.

But also such is life.

That's why.

What is variety?

The spice of life is the spice.

Now you could always try them all.

But the thing, then Z4, the pre-faced if one

has a less good engine, they're the same,

they're both three liters, but it has less

good engine, but it has less issues.

But that appeals to me because Rory had one

for a while.

56:00 Ben's Z4 vs. Cayman Decision Discussion

Was his, Evan, was his a face lift one?

Who's this?

Rory's Z4.

His was a, I think it was an SI because it

was a coupon.

Yes, 'cause it was, yeah, 'cause I got my

mate from MX5 Will to buy the SI from work.

No, please ignore me, it's

the other way around.

Yeah, no, I think Rory's is an SI.

Okay.

Okay.

I think that would be a cool car for you,

I believe.

I would like to handle it.

And then if you really, once you get tired of

that or whatever you wanna move on,

it's the same, so I'm seeing.

Brembo front discs for a Cayman 3.4 S are 64

pounds a disc.

What costs worry are you gonna spend that

just as much?

It's gonna be-- No, I'm joking,

that's actually-- No, no, but I'm saying

like, it's the same as Z4.

Yeah, that's fine.

What costs worry you wanna Cayman?

Is it the engine?

It's, well, there's two things.

The first thing is that anywhere you go,

they go Porsche.

Yeah, I'll fix the Porsche.

Yeah, it's a Porsche, which makes it more

expensive that labor rate, I think,

will be more.

Also, the location of and layout of the

engine makes it, I think, so doing stuff is

harder, they're formal expensive.

They are harder, yeah.

And the second point is that,

for me, I can't do anything to a Cayman,

realistically.

Of course, Cayman.

And if I can, though, I'm not gonna enjoy

doing it because it is where the engine is.

But why do you wanna do engine stuff?

Well, if I had a Z4 that was more a project,

not, I'm not saying bad, but if it was a car

that I could service, I could do an intake too.

The stuff like that, whereas on a Cayman,

that all thing feels, if I don't spark plugs,

it feels more daunting to me.

No, they are designed to still be,

it's bigger engine work that is,

you know, difficult, but that's the stuff

that you don't really wanna do anyway.

You don't wanna do that on a Z4.

But to me, I can't, it feels,

the layout of it feels to me like,

I feel, it feels daunting to me to do.

What does the ideal Cayman look like to you?

Like in terms of like, this is the car I've

bought and this is what I wanna do to it.

It would be, do what I want.

Cayman, a 987 Cayman, which is that generation like.

Correct.

So first generation Cayman.

What are the wheels, Edwin?

Go to your happy place.

Peter from America, his E60 M5.

Those, that style, those sort of big spoke

boys, Mottie piece guys, Cayman look great.

Yeah, that will be some low spaces and then

some, probably exhaust and some induction noise.

Now these mods don't sound terrible.

No, I think they'd be, you'd have the same,

maybe some things maybe like the exhaust and

stuff might be more expensive because it's

Porsche, but I don't know.

There might be cheap options out there.

But we'll be able to gundamod them,

which is a bypass pipe that you can put in

that makes them sound.

So here are some options for you.

Yeah, that would be very easy for you.

There you go, Ben.

Oh, that is so good.

Yeah.

So those are LMs, that's a similar sort of style.

That is so good.

But we found you, we specked out your perfect

S2000 the other day, Enki RPF ones.

And is the basic white girl of the Ugg boots

and starbucks.

I don't know wheels at all when I said to

you, I didn't say Enki RPF, RPF one that I

said, those wheels from, and I described it correctly.

Exactly, because they're universally good.

If you hate on RPF ones, it's 'cause you're a

hype beast who's like, man, it's 'cause it's

too trendy, too many people have them,

they good wheels.

But looking at that, Cayman and that S2000 in

your head, what does Morphe?

Oh, the Cayman's off.

The Cayman's off you.

Which one are you looking back at?

Both, but the Cayman, Cayman belonged.

In that case, keep saving for the Cayman.

That's the choice.

All.

Yeah, but is that not a good stepping stone?

No, I know, there will be people in the

comments, people on the internet going,

"Well, the Cayman 7 is the thinking man's

Cayman, because it is more reliable."

And actually, the engine is more heavy and

more eager to rev out to the red line,

but what they really want is a 3.4.

If you give them a choice in a vacuum,

they will choose the 3.4.

But will I be able to, 'cause I'm not a driver?

Or you are.

But it's very different.

Talky, like just day to day driving around,

you'll get far more enjoyment from like

little blasts from a 3.4 than you will

revving the tips out.

1:00:08 Choosing Between Z4 and Cayman

I would prefer it.

It's just, if it was a case for me,

this is so, this is so, no one will agree,

'cause this is so boring.

But if it's a case of, you know,

there's 10% more fun from that one,

but then obviously you have to deal with all

the other issues with them.

And for me, I'm like, it's not worth it.

I think the majority of people would agree with you.

We are, Will and I, the outliers with,

most people are not willing to potentially

bankrupt themselves for, you know,

the sort of thing that we're looking at.

That's what, I mean, if the whole car is just

universally, insanely better,

then obviously worth it.

My vote is, I had four firsts for time being,

'cause I don't think that you will lose,

'cause you can donate for six months for a

year, however long you like,

use that.

And then when the time is right,

when the bread is up, when the peas are full,

when they move on to the Cayman.

Now, here's what I'd say first as well.

Drive a 2.7, drive a 3.4, see how you like 'em.

And I have a man who offered a Cayman to you.

And you said no.

What?

Ben's been offered more cars than--

I didn't know you mentioned this,

I didn't know this.

Oh yeah, I didn't tell you.

Oh, okay, that's not helpful.

Okay, so that's not my fault anyway.

No, but other cars anyway.

What other cars?

The GTR.

Yeah, but I don't know how many people say it

to be nice, but don't actually have it,

it's not that just gonna pop out.

Oh, what about spring quickly?

Just gonna have, could Ben, could you

describe what I've just pulled onto the screen?

Everyone's just gone on Copart as he does

every eight minutes.

I've found a 2009 Porsche Cayman S.

And it's what category?

Cayenne.

Which means non-structural.

What's the damage?

The damage is front end, he's got a little

bit of a bumper, screeve.

And that's a, I like that, really.

That's a facelift, and it's a manual,

and it's nice, and that's good.

He's got a bit of a flat tie,

he's had a bit of, I think he's had an

incident, an inchodont with a ditch.

Now, I'm gonna just remind you,

our kind of day-to-day work.

What do we do at the end of the day?

I think, can we do this podcast?

What's that, what's that?

That thing you've got in front of you,

is that camera?

Is that camera?

And then there's like this thing,

which is like a copark crashed car that we've rebuilt.

What are you doing tomorrow,

Ben?

What are we up to?

We're dropping a model T on the road.

That's actually true, we are doing that.

We were filming.

I'm looking at this.

I'm looking at this video.

This is tempting me.

Now, Ben, I'll keep it real.

You're probably gonna sell for around about

six or seven.

So, 'cause this is a facelift,

this is a nice one.

It's gonna go for good money.

But, undercarriage secondary damage.

Because it's, it clearly has hit on to something.

But, you know, Ben, Ben, you know--

Should we check a little bit,

isn't it?

Hey, that's a question for you.

We're not picking, Ben, you're not picking me a bit.

We?

There is no we.

We're all together on live on the podcast.

It's tempting me a lot.

Hey, Ben, here's what I'm gonna do.

I'm just gonna go ahead and just,

I'm just gonna click sign in.

I'm just gonna pull this back over onto my

screen and sign in for you, Ben.

Now, you won't do a live bid on the podcast.

You won't--

It feels a little bit, it feels a little bit bit.

Now, if I'm like, let's share our numbers,

it feels a little bit.

If you were to bid for four grand that's

there, look, you're just taking part.

There we go, we're signed in.

We're in it for now.

We've got the bid number.

We've got the box that can be ticked.

We've got two days left on it.

It's up to you.

1:03:13 Live Bid on Cayman S

I mean, it's the viewer's time as well,

really.

Someone's driving to work right now.

They're going, is he gonna bid?

So just for context, this is TDC day in and day out.

It's you will not bid on this car.

I've just run a quick MOT check on it.

It's got 220 days of MOT left.

It was previously for sale in,

may of this year, at 20,000 pounds.

It was listed, oh, and then someone's bought

it, put it straight in a hedge.

We've got quite a lot of advisories,

but minor defects.

We've got nearside outer rear drive shaft,

CV boot deteriorated a little bit.

Same offside, same for the offside.

So, you know, you just need some rear drive shafts.

The previous one has advisories for,

I mean, quite a few, got nearside front,

break this one, offside, nearside rear,

offside rear, front shock was all a little bit converted.

This is a strict M.A.T.

tester.

Yeah, but it needs a set of breaks and a CV boot.

Sounds like work to do on the channel.

A coilovers.

And wheels.

And wheels that aren't black.

Oh, 100%.

So, yeah, for those, yeah, we didn't really

explain it fully, but it is,

K&S, facelift, K&S, which is very nice.

83,000 miles.

83,000 miles back.

Which means it crashed just 1,000 miles after

its last M.A.T.

Go down on the car.

Does it tell you about history of it?

No, they have nothing on with it.

No, so Copart, you are more often than not,

you will get nothing with it,

but that is why the price will tend to stay

low on it.

Because even when they come to sell it,

even when they've bought it and they've done

it up, it won't have history.

But a lot of hiring manufacturers,

you can go to Porsche, if it's been serviced

with Porsche, and say, can I please have all

my service history if the car was serviced with it?

If it was for sale for 20 grand,

it's got to have service history.

That's logic.

No, but it doesn't come with the car.

But I'm saying it has to have service.

It must be, because it might be at a

specialist, in which case, you can't

necessarily find that.

Like this, the Jag, this was from Copart,

we have nothing.

Nothing from it.

Nothing from it.

My beat had nothing until I tracked down the

previous-- I know what I'm saying,

though, is logically to me, if it was for

sale for that much money.

Oh, I believe it's probably in.

It probably has history.

You know what?

Here we go, Ben.

Now, here we go, Ben.

Chuck a little bit.

a little bit.

But what does a little bit--

I don't really want to do-- I don't really

want to set-- I don't want to buy numbers on

the podcast if it was a little bit.

Well, I mean, right now, the current bid is Β£3,950.

You said realistically, it's not going for that anyway.

But what would you be willing to pay on that car?

You don't have to have your full number yet.

But would you go to fault?

Nah, give him more than fault on that.

Oh, all right.

I'm not going to go 50 quid at the moment.

It's currently got all over the chamber in

the reserve as a market.

The reserve is not met.

I would say the reserve is probably going to

be about six and a half to seven.

But we'll see.

You don't need to go to that yet.

This is just a starter.

It's not even a starter.

It's nibbles on the menu.

When you just sit down and they've got a

little bit of bread and some treacle butter.

You're just putting your hat in the ring.

You've sat down and they said,

"Can I get you starved with some drinks?"

That's where we're at right now.

And you said, "I'm still at the menu."

Please.

No, I'm saying this.

Can I have a water?

If you put a bit on Copa, he's like eBay

where you can't take it off.

Correct.

Okay.

Okay.

Okay.

Okay.

Okay.

I'll put you in there.

Just put you in there.

So what's the number then?

I'll give you 50 quid.

I'll put 50 quid on it.

So let's end the podcast on a cliffhanger and off-camera.

I'll put a bit on it.

Oh, this Ben is the most anti climactic thing ever.

Everyone's going to be very upset at you.

What would you like, Ben?

Like a little 4-1?

You can't say it away from them.

I'm like, it doesn't work like that.

I'll privately put it on there and it will

show what the

bid is.

I'm taking it off.

But I put a little, Ben, you send it to me on Slack.

I just have it in the podcast,

check it.

But put a little, I feel a bit like a penis,

just sitting here, but I put a bit of,

it's literally the car

that you've been after.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

I just don't want to look like an op.

So, but Ben, I'll give you a number.

I've put the number in.

I've checked the bid now.

Your bid is not within the increments.

Hold on.

Okay, we'll

1:07:29 Winning the Cayman Auction

just put that in.

Right now, and as it was done.

It's been nine grand for me.

Confirm your bid.

Check this bid.

No.

Go ahead, immediately.

It feels sick.

It goes.

I've never in the current line.

Congratulations.

You've actually put in the perfect number and

you've won the Cayman straight off the bat.

Right, I have put in a number that Ben has requested.

And I'm pleased to show it on here right now.

Ben is winning.

Yeah, but it's not going to happen to us.

Now, Ben's request, we don't want to show the numbers.

That's fine.

I don't mind that.

It feels a little bit, in case one of you two

weeks in the future are outbid him.

Yeah, exactly.

In the next two days.

Any of you have a, what's it called?

You've got my time travel machine.

Yeah, you've got minus 12 days to outbid Ben.

So we all see this is quite interesting.

It's a very good, I like the spec as well.

It's black on black, which is quite nice.

But it's a facelift.

Very cool.

The next podcast that you'd be driving

around, it'll be on the back,

in the background and on the left,

getting fixed.

This is where we go through and find

something glaringly obvious.

We're going to run a cover, we'll run a cover

off screen for it to check it.

But hey, also what happens?

Should we end on that note?

This is quite a big deal, actually.

For not for anybody listening,

they'll probably care.

But for the cream podcast, because I get

bullied all week about it, I can't buy a car.

Well, thank you very much for listening.

We're going to end it there.

Apologies if this has been all over the place

for audio listeners.

We will try our best to make it less

informative, more bullying next week.

We will be back.

I want you guys to love.

But thank you very much for listening to this episode.

for everything around me podcast.

We'll see you next week.

Remember, crashed cars rule everything around me.

Oh, God.

Cream get the money.

Bids.

Can't believe you bid 15 grand.
