0:00 Rule or Ruin: Edwin's Ferrari 550 Maranello
They signed off Red and Bodgers.
It's going from Barbados sent in a very concerned email.
Now it gets dark at what we're talking before five now.
Yeah, it's gone back in it.
So it means the riveting.
Sitting to my right is my Ferrari 550 Maranello.
Hello, and welcome back to the Cream podcast,
the Car's Rule Everything Around Me podcast
with Ben, to my left, which is very strange.
It's the only weird thing for the year of years today.
And even more strange than that,
Ben behind the camera has some comfy,
honest.
I have a role so for just to myself.
I did ask very kindly if Ben could lay down on it.
He refused to.
I can.
No, he just sends the wrong message,
doesn't it?
Far too many clothes on as well.
Anyway, at the beginning of every single one
of these podcasts, we ask ourselves if Car's
have ruined, ruined, ruined or ruled our
lives this week, and I think we kick off.
Ben, who do you think should start this?
I don't.
Or do you want us to do it?
No, I don't.
You've got lots to talk about.
I do.
I'm a rule.
Okay.
Cars are working.
Anyway, Edwin, what's yours?
Well, we've been up to.
We're still not next door because of the Joes.
You've now seen it.
That's being fixed next door.
I think that's basically it.
I think that's it.
Dory, just a normal week at the office.
Just a pretty standard, TDC.
I think there's something bigger.
There's something bigger.
I have been keeping a secret for quite a few
weeks now, and it started with a secret that
only I knew about.
Makes sense.
Which makes sense.
That's kind of how big you didn't know that.
It was a crazy one to just join.
And then I revealed it to Ben.
And I revealed it to my mate,
an X5 Will from Vestige Customs.
And then I revealed it to this Will.
And now I thought the only logical next
people to learn must be the creamers before
the TDC is because if you're a video viewer,
you've seen it, but if you're an audio
viewer, sitting to my right is my Ferrari 550 Maranello.
in, and it's not just that.
It's in Tour de France, blue over cream interior.
It's nearly the perfect spec that I've
always, always wanted.
I have been secretly making deals and things
happen for a while.
I started to get, as you probably know,
I've been talking about them for a great many years.
It is my ultimate dream car.
This is, this is the car since I was a child.
And I wanted a crashed one.
I still want a crashed one will get onto.
This is not going to be the one that we go
too mad on, I'll be honest, because they were
already worth a lot of money.
Now, and I was getting scared that the boat
would leave without me, and that I would
never have any one at all.
So when this one came up, there is an
incredibly good story with this car.
I'm not going to reveal too much because in
the coming weeks months, there will be a
reveal of it on the TDC channel that has both
Ben finding out, because Ben didn't know,
Will finding out, and my other mate MX-5
Will, him finding out, it's all very good.
Will is very upset.
I should have known.
I was away for two, two or a bit weeks.
And in the middle of that, we had fuel.
Yeah.
And it turned out you knew then.
So what, a crease?
It turns out everyone knew before.
In fact, my dad walked into the building,
what, into the room we were all standing in,
and said to Ben, how was the reveal?
And then said to my dad, "Shh,
shh, shh, shh, shh, shh."
What was the name
he said?
I had to, like, sort of maneuver him away
whilst I was saying, "No, yeah,
well, obviously someone doesn't know."
And luckily with that, I went,
"Oh, yeah, that's fair."
But I panicked.
So, yeah, there was a very good reveal all around.
But yeah, this car is annoyingly,
it has the potential to be very,
very nice.
It's a bit like your Gallardo,
where it's had a few, you know,
mods and it's a little bit tatty in some
places, but cleaned up, could be worth a lot of money.
And I think that money could then,
I could sell it and that money could go to
finding a crashed one one day and making that
into the real 550 bill.
But for now, it's very scary.
You know what, when you bought the Gallardo
in the most long, I was like,
"It can't be that bad.
I'm scared.
I'm very scared."
scared.
It's all, it's a great deal of anxiety.
Yeah, it's more, I was going to say it's all my money.
It's not my money.
It's more than my money.
But you know, it's quite tatty.
You will see around it in the video,
but we've also, we've already started modifying it.
First day we, they're up, up in the top left,
there are two back boxes.
I'll leave it there.
I don't know how much we want to go into.
We'll see.
We went to the reveal itself.
I was, I was, I was, I was none the wiser and
I was completely and utterly stunned by it.
But we were at SBR.
The Eagle.
Engine out stuff.
The eagle-eyed among you will find,
realize that this is actually the car that we
said that I showed.
I showed in the 2DC video, I lied to you all.
The best part is, is that the only way you
can ever know is that there is one shot where
Edwin opens the door and I put the camera in
and there's a pair of Rayban sunglasses.
Which are Barry's.
No, they're not.
And also in that video, Barry from SBR drove
it away and to test next, we just fitted some parts.
And that is my genuine reaction,
happy reaction to hearing the car from the outside.
for the very first time.
So yeah, this is, it's very weird to me.
I still just go into, into my garage and just
stare at it.
I've done it.
It's been every two weeks.
I'd say every, every single day I've gone to
the garage and just looked at it.
Like just gone in in the morning before I've
come to work and just looked at it for a
minute and gone.
(laughs) There it is.
I'll be honest, I showed it here when I,
when I drove it back.
The first night I drove it back,
I was, I had a little cry.
Yeah, there was a, there was a moment at SBR
where about seven and a half,
I sort of stood back.
situation.
I was, and I did feel a bit emotional because
I think this is, this is cool.
I mean, both cars were on ramps.
Yeah.
And there was bad news all around.
I'll be honest.
There was tough times where it were
everlasting by thought.
It's already, we're coming up for three years
into TDC to, to a, to a bit,
you know, three years in.
And there is our 550 and Merci Lago up on the
left and we're surrounded.
And also, there's no sound cheeses shit,
but like surrounded by good people.
Yeah, no, no, it is.
It's like, cause we had a recall lunch that,
that was, that was the thing.
It was, it was, I was sitting about lunch and
I, we, we got nambos with the gang.
And we were chatting shit about cars.
And there was, we just pulled an engine on a
Merci Lago and after lunch, we were going to
look at the 550.
I was like, this is, this is it.
This is the cool thing.
It's like Fast and Furious.
So, you know, just one, one clown to go.
Yes.
And we did, you know what?
I did wonder.
I've been away for two or a bit weeks.
I came back.
Alex has bought a Ferrari.
You've bought a Ferrari.
And then like, and I, there was a V12 on the downside.
And I thought, nah.
If I go away for two and a half weeks and
there's, Ben's also bought a drinker,
but that's never gonna happen.
I thought that you are.
I don't think that's true.
I can't afford it.
I think it's just because you have a dweeb.
I think, again, all you have to do is cut the
PJ one week and you're in.
I know, I can't.
I would love one.
I'm
absolutely loved one.
Save one month of what we pay you.
You can get two.
If you talk about that.
What about how
much we pay you?
Sure.
Get your tax return out.
For cream.
Yeah.
No, count it's listing right now going.
No, no, no, no, no.
It won't happen.
We were trying to work out if we could do a
business loan from cream to Ben and how that
would affect the business.
I was like, right.
If I give up the podcast, any money for the
podcast for like this much time,
can I have one now?
It was V12 one was tough.
It was 14 and a half years.
You'd have to work for us for free.
But do you don't play a penny for your Aston Martin?
Yeah.
That makes so much sense.
It was 14 years.
7:30 Dream Road Trips and Ben's Future Car Possibilities
It was, yeah.
I'll be 38.
But I don't have Aston Martin.
Same.
Pushing 40 with Aston Martin.
Cool.
No, you'd be mid-40s, 46.
Yeah.
But at least I'd know that you'd worked for free.
I can't have one just yet.
At some point, the dream road trip has to happen.
Just so you know, we'll go without you.
I'll either have to film it.
No.
No, it's like you can come with,
but you're going to have to watch.
You're going to be in the culture.
You're going to be in the cuck film camera car.
Do you know what?
Fine.
I'm so happy with my friends.
I'm happy to watch you have fun.
Yeah.
That is actual cuck.
Yeah.
It is a little bit.
That's really rough.
I don't like hearing that.
I love that you guys are enjoying this.
No, I've seen it.
You guys have got...
Hey, guys, let me film it.
No.
People are listening to the podcast.
Oh, it's not a really happy one.
Wow.
Two minutes later, right?
And we're back.
Now, I've achieved your dreams.
Now, surely the road trips it to me.
Yeah.
I mean, it would make sense to go to France or Sweden.
We're going to Canberra.
I don't know where it all started.
What does that mean?
Well, car throttle was was Kerberch always.
Oh, yeah.
It's true.
Yeah.
But at the Kerberch.
Where it all started, it's a stretch,
but still.
Right.
Yeah.
Thanks for that.
Yeah.
I don't know.
But Italy road trip.
Italy road trip.
I don't know.
I'm probably in Lamborghini within about 40
minutes of each other.
And I'm good.
You've never been.
Yeah.
No, I've never been.
You've never been.
I've been three times and I love it.
You'd be going to Gaidenen.
Is it Gaidenen?
No.
We're getting down to the channel total and
then goes, yeah, it's all done now.
Was it not the Newport Pagnol?
Yeah.
What?
I thought Newport Pagnol was.
I think Newport Pagnol
was.
I don't want it.
Sorry.
It's this Cardiff Airport.
Apologies, Carol.
Okay, there you go.
So you pop down there and then we'll,
for the next few days, be driving down to Italy.
Newport Pagnol's not near Cardiff Airport.
Is it up?
I think that's my family.
Just one of my kings.
Yeah.
Oh, well, no, there is SMI one down by
Newport Cardiff way.
No, it's a factory.
I swear they make those Aston Martin's.
No way.
Every day I see new ones come out.
That must be where they make them.
You might be right, Ben.
But I think, I don't know how often they stop it.
No, they were.
He took to his phone with so much speed,
hoping that he could prove more wrong.
No, they were Gaiden and then the engines
were in Cologne.
So we can start in Cologne.
So we can start, start in Gaiden,
stop off at Cologne, then off down to Italy.
That's a cool trip.
Or depending what car Ben buys,
he might be going to, I don't know,
not going to France with the Cayo 200.
Yeah, it's in Calbridge, which is near Landau.
There you go.
It's that way.
Yeah, very rough.
So there's one of them.
I'm not sure what location.
Let's carry them with a podcast show.
That will be a really cool trip.
For me, it is rule.
I also quick shout out to Car Vertical.
This car was off market.
In fact, actually, do you know what?
Thanks to a viewer.
I'll tease that a little bit.
Didn't a viewer see you in it?
A viewer did see me in it.
Before anything was revealed,
that was a good point.
I went to my brother.
I was in cars and he said, "Can you bring it?
I want to see it for my birthday lunch."
He lives not that far.
I was trying to be careful about driving it
because I didn't want someone to take a photo
or anything like that.
I got in the car and as I was driving through
a town, I got to a junction and there was a
modified Black Fiesta ST.
I was like, "Oh, no.
There's going to be anyone.
It's going to be this."
As I came around the corner,
I looked.
His eyes widened and he just pointed.
at me and I, in an instant, just went,
"Shh, I put my finger to my lips."
I went, "Don't say anything."
Thankfully, he didn't post it or say anything anywhere.
If that was you, shout out.
Shout out to you.
Because he's in a body bag.
Yeah.
He's dumb.
Well, there was one at Food and Fuel where
someone mistakenly thought that Alex's 4.5.6
was a 550.
And so they said, "While I was standing next
to Will, congratulations on your Ferrari,
by the way, and I panicked.
I immediately panicked."
I was like, "How does he know?"
So I went, "What, what?"
And he went, "The Ferrari, outside.
That's your one, right?"
And so I immediately went into defense mode
and insulted him and said, "That's a 4.5.6.
Do you not know anything about it?"
And his friends all made fun of him.
So sorry about that.
I was in ultra defense mode because I thought
you'd given up the ruse.
And then the final one is I went to a cousin
coffee thing, not for like 10 minutes away
from my house on Sunday.
Same day as the guy with the Fiesta.
Turn up in the TVR and when I left,
12:00 Car Vertical Check on New Ferrari Purchase
guys, I have to take the Ferrari past this
cars and coffee event.
There's people car spotting on the outside.
And I'd already met a few people who had
watched the podcast.
And I was like, I have no way of getting around.
I have to drive past this.
So I lined up with it, put the sun visor down
to the side of my face and sat up really high
so that you couldn't see my face and sped
through as quick as I could find my heart.
So I could get through before anybody took a photo.
But after you go past and sort of Godfather
wedding star goes Smasher here on the camera.
So none of this.
So yeah, between that and shout out to Car
Vertical, this car was off market.
So I managed to run a Car Vertical Check on it.
The only way I could find much information about it.
As we've always said, we always run a Car
Vertical Check before we buy one.
This was a perfect example.
Thankfully had no damage, no bad history,
all good on that front.
So I ran on that.
I left no stone unturned, as they like to say.
And you can get 20% off of your next Car
Vertical if you use our code CREAM.
And you can get a bundle of them,
a load of them together 50% off,
shell out Car Vertical, big up,
big up.
Ben, for me, I'll go to Rule.
What's that in?
Cars are working, cars are going.
So we've recovered from the Clio mishap from last week.
Oh yeah.
I haven't really seen it.
Can you tell us what your girlfriend said?
I don't think we'll heard it earlier about
reviewing the podcast.
A girlfriend likes to listen to the podcast
when she works.
She messes me up and gives me a review.
earlier, saying we should find it.
Now, this is about last week's podcast,
which I think is probably one of our more
prolific bullying weeks.
Well, sometimes I'll leave quite early in the morning.
So someone's sure she'll mess you me and go,
"I'll have a good day."
And that's nice.
They most recent podcasts bring me with laugh.
Never said that to me, really.
Never really left that out.
Why was that?
I said to her, I said, "Which bit?"
And she said the bit where you get bullied a
lot of it in your laugh.
"What about your knight in shining armor?"
What was that?
The person that came to your defense about
our bullying of you?
Oh yeah, I don't know much about that.
I just know that a man message Alex genuinely
concerned my well-being.
He said Ben will say it's fine because
they've convinced him that it's part of the process.
So just say no.
What do we do?
Was it you, Ben?
Was it you?
No, no.
I don't know who'd say that.
They signed off Renn Bodgers.
Let's go from Bob Bados to send them a very
concerned email.
But so just so you know, with the camera
stops, we do beat him.
I'd be you.
Physically.
No, we're all friends here.
I appreciate your concern, but we're all friends here.
It's just a bit of bullying.
I know my place.
I'll keep blinking at the camera.
That was the most code for giving me money.
It was actually our finest bit of Ben abuse.
Yeah, it happened today, actually.
It was up in a bag.
Oh, through a wall.
That's good.
Yeah.
Do you know what?
Maybe we can post that on the cars we're
living around me.
It was for a sponsor.
Well, it might be in the sponsor.
We're yet to know.
We're going to see if they say yes.
I have a feeling they say no.
It was a smidge dog.
We have to send our sponsorships for
approval, but from the sponsor and they get
to say, basically they're going to get any
feedback they want.
And that this sponsor particularly was like,
have fun with it.
So if you tell us to not have fun with it,
be a mess about.
So they told us to just go crazy.
Show me and will cuddling.
There's a shot of Ben.
It was for Emma Mattress, who did not even
sponsor segment.
Shout out Emma Mattress, actually very comfy.
But they sent a new mattress and that came in
a kind of big duffle bag.
So for the purposes of the video,
we zipped Ben in it and then got to a shot of
throwing the bag at the wall.
But off camera, I'm.
Will is especially.
I can't wait.
I've never been so excited to see a piece of
content we've made.
Also, I'm pretty good with that.
That's like something I have a Monty pie for this.
16:00 Edwin's M3 Clutch Issues and Oil Service Discussion
I'm pretty good at that sort of thing,
but the south isn't that bad.
I was like, Jesus, this is this is this is
this is what it felt like when you hit the wall.
Oh, I hit the wall.
But they couldn't fully get me in.
But you've lived to tell the sales.
I actually get out.
I was like, that's that's rough.
You seem pretty unscathed for a man who's
been launched at a wall this morning,
evening, afternoon.
All of them.
It's all over.
It's for you.
That was me.
God damn it.
What am I today?
Well, you didn't know last week about
something that had happened.
He's all no way.
Did we talk about that much?
We did.
Oh, we talked about that.
I think we know about my clutch.
Okay.
I'm pretty sure.
I feel like I've had the pain along enough.
You sent it off, right?
I've sent my clutch off.
Do you see?
This is all details for the video,
but there's a way I can make my clutch cheaper.
I don't know what I said.
Basically, the worst of all,
good.
Here's a clutch.
And that's not like an old car.
I know some of you get compared to,
oh, I don't know when you all talk about the
prices of supercar stuff.
I do not care.
I really don't care.
You're going to hear about it.
If I have to hear about it, you will have to
hear about it.
Also, you hear about, I want to defend wheel hair.
You hear about it from a relatable point of
view, which that Will is like,
I don't want to spend that.
I mean, it feels ridiculous.
If you went just by Chuck 10 grand at the old
mercy, you know, it cost 10 for the clutch.
No, you'll sing it from a point of pain.
But there is an alternative.
That is a fifth of the price almost.
Now, there is the other part,
which is a release bearing, which I think I
actually actually, I think I described this
before, but I have no way of doing that and
my car needs it.
And there's no way in not doing it.
If you know of a new Mercy Logger clutch
bearing, shout, because you're still in the garage.
You're still looking for one.
Yeah, I still need to get one.
So we're trying to, if there's not hope,
you can buy them new, but they're new to
order from the factory.
And do you want to think of something quite painful?
Is that back when they were new and they were
getting serviced, they probably took okay
ones that had life in them and threw them in
the bin and they were cheaper then.
Yeah.
I want to know.
Okay.
I just want to know.
Because the price of things,
I know it's partly to do with the fact that
they, there are less people buying them.
Yeah.
So obviously the price is coming up,
but it's so inflated.
Yeah.
They weren't that much money before.
I think it's like they more than double in
price, basically.
I think it's all a ploy.
They know the cars are worth money.
But it must have some, it has an effect on
the value of the car.
But I also think people, they know that the
people who are buying them now are buying
them from investments and therefore will put
the money into it.
But the price hasn't changed since then.
That price was like that when they were
similar to that, when they were 100 grand,
which is still a lot of money.
But that's part of the reason why cars like
that go into that depreciation curve is
because the maintenance cost is so high.
Everyone wants the new one.
Like the eventador is, you can still get an
event store with a warranty,
let's say, or it's not that expensive to run
in comparison.
But if you've suddenly got to do a Mashilaga
that you're looking at a 30 grand engine
output, you're going to go, "Well,
why would I do that on a car that's already
gone and dropped in money?"
That's often why cars depreciate to that
level is because no one is willing to pay.
It's why things like RS6s and it's not just supercars.
It's cheap Bentley, it's cheap Rolls Royces.
They have that point in their life when no
sane human being other than a YouTuber will
pay the money to keep them on the road.
Yeah.
So I just want to know, I want to know who's doing that.
But there will be some alternatives as I'm
hoping in the next sort of year or so that my
next club change should get a bit cheaper.
Yeah,
next year.
But there's been so many parts that I've
researched and bought and ordered that should
save a load
on that.
Release bearings, just the only thing.
Now with
the 550 here, I'm very excited to get to that.
I was actually buying something fun because
it scares me.
Look.
Is we say it a lot because of YouTube.
Exactly.
It is
interesting.
It is one of the most interesting aspects of
the whole ownership part of it.
But it's often not that bad.
There's a lot of it you can work on yourself.
There's a lot of it.
You're not necessarily going to get it all in one here.
People are like, "Oh, look, the headlight
lens on an Aston Martin is 25 grand.
Why do you need to?"
Unless you're rebuilding one.
it.
But you can find those big bills on loads of
cars realistically.
Also, the other thing to think about it is if
you work on an MX-5, for instance,
there are so many people out working on them
themselves that shortcuts and cheaper
versions are found very easily.
Whereas on a bigger car, on a more expensive
car, most people will take it to the dealer
and will just say yes to whatever's thrown at them.
They'll pay for the original parts.
They'll pay for the release bearing as it is standard.
But the more people you have DIYing them,
the more people work out, "Oh,
I can use a Kia Spark plug or what do you call it?
A coil pack that's a tenth of the price."
You'll find that on even asking Martin things
where I know they're at one of those because
I've helped my mate work on his and there are
things like that where there are cheaper
alternatives that you'll hear someone go,
"That cost me 10 grand to fix that."
When in reality, it will cost you 300 quid to
do yourself.
And even specialists as well,
speaking to Stuart SBR about there are things
they do at a fraction of a cost of what a
dealer can do because they're not always
going to, you know, they might find a quicker
way to do it, a better way to do it,
a better part, a more efficient part.
So yeah, there's always, there's always a way.
I'm not saying it's cheap.
Do you know what you mean?
You could say it doesn't have to be bad.
Where there is a will that there's a way.
There is.
And I'm here.
I think you're watching it.
You're laughing.
You're laughing a bit of will.
I see most days.
You're looking a bit of will.
You need a bit of will in you.
I don't want that.
Not this one.
Not today, please.
What should we start with?
I think I would, I don't even know if I said
Let's just call it a ruin.
Okay, you're ruined.
When you're.
I think I'm a rule.
I'm a rule.
I'm going to change it out.
I'm going to be a rule just because I don't
want to be a spoil sport.
Oh, I'm going to go for a ruin.
I put seats in the M3 rule.
You see that?
I'm going to go to a ruin then.
There you go.
This is this horrible.
I got to do an oil service on my car.
He's a little brother.
You're the one from recess.
Oh, you're Randall.
That's it.
I don't know that.
I've got to do an oil service on my car.
It's a big ruin for me.
We didn't talk about that.
Oh, no.
He's just signed his own death for him.
I was away.
I was joking.
It's a rule.
I was away for a couple of weeks.
Can we talk about this?
We did last week, but we didn't.
Not the small things revelations.
Because I forgot about it in time.
There was no revelation going away.
We're talking about, if anyone watches the
2DC channel, you would have seen that there
was a mention that your car was going to go
away and have some bits done.
Oh, you know, we did a lot.
We did some news suspension.
We bought some new tires.
You alignment.
You had an alignment.
I had a new alignment.
I need to look at my list.
I forgot.
You were chewing
through tires at a rate of, I think,
faster than not,
actually.
You were balding.
It was like 10,000 miles.
It
wasn't that quick.
They were balding on their edges.
It
wasn't right.
It wasn't right for sure.
So we did those new dampers and lowering
springs and car was sat beautifully.
You had it aligned and then it rode and drove
and now doesn't wear through tires.
Correct.
Correct.
Your other issues were a very long crank issue.
Some people bad, some people good,
they like that sort of thing.
I was good in a long time.
Cranking your hog.
And the other thing of being a starter was
through this service.
And the other one being the oil.
Excessive oil consumption.
Oil burning.
How many of those engine morning light?
Oh, the engine was a coolant pump.
And your battery.
Well, they're fixed apart from the long crank issue.
And the oil burning.
No, it's no, no, no.
So what did you do yesterday before you said?
You just top up your oil.
That's day.
Oh, you did that today.
Cool.
Okay.
You know, if we listen to the podcast that is
issues, because we mentioned them a lot.
I handle that stuff fixed.
Now, the oil burning issue, let's just look
at it head on here.
Right.
Right.
This is politician.
And then I just know you're about to interrupt.
So I'm going to try and go for this,
right?
I'm zipping it.
That car was going through.
Let's call it just to be just to be just to be easy.
Half a litre per thousand miles.
Roughly.
400 mil half a litre.
Right.
I was topping up.
I was doing, I'm topping it up realistically
every week, maybe two weeks if I'm lucky,
had the PCV valve fixed, which is built with
rock cover, how that stuff's done.
It hasn't come up.
It's been a month now.
It hasn't come up at all in that time.
I've done, I've done miles since then.
Right.
This morning, annoyingly, it came up saying,
I want some oil.
Fine.
So it's much reduced, but it is still burning oil.
Now, you know this because of that two litre
diesel in the GTDs and no burning oil,
but now it's burning oil like a sort of
normal rate, whereas before it was burning
quite a lot of oil.
So that's my first point.
Second point is the long crank.
Now, the specialist told me it was this battery.
I thought maybe not because it had a new one
this year, but they said, they said,
and this is what I said to you at the time,
they said you're doing so well.
They said it is the battery we think for the
long crank issue.
But even if it isn't, you need new battery
because your battery is like 50% capacity.
So it has pooped itself.
I did buy a somewhat cheap battery to put in the car.
So fine.
25:00 Porsche Mission S Manual Gearbox Patent News
How that done?
The long crank still persists in the same manner.
A lot of comments said it was a VBT solenoid.
I asked them specifically, as the rocker was
coming off, please check that.
They said we've tested it.
It's completely fine.
So I now have a mystery long crank issue.
Please.
The floor is yours.
So fine.
No, I think you've said all that needs to be said.
I think that's fine.
The only thing I would just like to pull you
up on a little bit is the battery issue.
Because when we were here, we suggested,
why don't we go get a battery?
And we'll replace it for Chifa.
And you said, no, they have to do it.
They told me, and it sounds like a bit of
bollocks, but I kind of believe them.
I don't know why.
No, they said to me that I did put a somewhat
cheap battery in the car.
They said maybe it could be that,
the reason it's dying.
It also could be not coded correctly.
I don't know.
I didn't even know you had to code a battery
when I did the battery in January.
So well, these are the things.
Yeah.
So that's what happened.
So the car now, and now I need an oil service.
I'm putting it in Bully 4.
Now that I issue with that, this is what
prompted the whole conversation,
because that's what reminded me.
You just had, let's say, quite a lot on when
I say the bill, heavy work.
You might as well buy it at the mine at the stage.
That's a couple of monthly payments.
You had a large bill, but you could have,
now some people will look at this the other
way and go, you could save the money by doing
the oil change.
But you could have just asked them to just sling.
To sling an oil service, then you get car back.
Well, freshly serviced, new fixes,
ready to bounce.
I'm going to give you three counterpoints very quickly.
Please, number one, being I want to save some
money because I just spent a lot of money.
A lot of money.
You could have said, "Grom."
Yeah.
A lot of money.
Penny's to a Milan-Magnino, but you know,
it was an expensive deal for a golf.
When you go back to Barbados.
I have no plans.
You're there next week.
You're literally not here next week.
I'm not here next week.
I'm not here next week.
I'm not here next to Barbados.
I'm
not
here next
week.
It wasn't the calculation.
No, no, it was with them.
A
thousand miles ago, correct?
No.
What would I say?
You said
to them, it was it's overdue by about two thousand miles.
It's over 200 miles.
It's over at least a thousand miles.
I
know that.
Okay.
How many miles ago was it with them?
It would have been a bath.
I'll pour in two thousand miles.
It's not, I don't know.
I'm just trying to give you your story.
I don't know.
I don't know.
Do you want me to walk out there and find out for you?
That's fine.
It wasn't, I'll buy you like,
it was like service to you in four miles.
It was not you.
Yeah.
It was not yet.
It wasn't you yet.
It wasn't you yet.
So too.
I know the bath.
It said it was due two thousand miles ago.
It was only with them.
Yes.
Yes.
In retrospect, I probably should have got
them to do at the same time.
My third point, which you're going to say is
woolly and stupid.
and bollocks and fine.
It probably is.
But the practicality of getting my car to and
from that was a little bit of a challenge.
I had to edit and I had a lot of stuff to do that week.
I also had to be here.
Let's say for the sake of the conversation,
it's not to complicated.
That car was there on the Thursday.
I had to come to here on the Friday.
I only have that car currently.
So I need that car back the same day.
So if I then said to them, oh,
can you do another service in this and that?
I don't know if it would have pushed them
over the edge, whereas like,
well, now I have to, I can't get the car
until the next day, creates an issue for.
So I'll sort of say to them,
just fix what needs fixing.
I'll sort of service in my own time.
Who was my thought?
That means you've got to do the oil filter
again, just so you know.
Yes, I know that.
I'm going to do it on Thursday evening.
So overall, Ben, is it a rule or a ruin?
It's a rule.
So that's the rules.
That's the rules.
Yes.
There we go.
Well, knackered.
But you're happy you got everything out.
Everything out?
Yeah.
Oh, no.
Okay, perfect.
Sure.
Is there more?
Hey, you guys are doing better.
You didn't interrupt at all then.
Well, I just wanted you to get all the facts out.
Yeah.
The facts that we could pick apart so easily.
And do you know what the best part was,
is that, is that, because you didn't
interrupt, you didn't have very many
questions afterwards.
You're like a slow-cooked piece of beef.
So easy.
The bone just slips out.
Rip your part.
Hey.
Rip me apart.
Yeah, you're like a piece of deli.
It's just, it's so lovely.
You're a piece of deli processed ham.
I love that.
I'd love that.
Which we found out, you can't have in the school anymore.
You can't have that anymore.
That was in the preamble.
Pink, jelly and tasty.
You saw that?
Yeah, deck was that.
It's just me shouting ham and egg at will.
Fried egg.
What?
Sausages and chicken nuggets have been
reduced once a week.
What am I supposed to eat?
Come with a side of a vegetable.
Here's your ham.
Ham and ham forts.
Right, shall we start with this actual podcast?
Yes, so this is a car podcast,
folks.
And we've just been talking about cars.
Let's talk about some things that have
happened in recent history.
What's that then?
Otherwise known as news.
Could you do that then?
Yeah.
All right.
Yeah.
You know that thing?
The one that Volkswagen made in the '70s was it?
The Porsche Mission S.
Mission S.
Mission S, which I thought was also a wrap
you can get from Tesco anyway.
Mission Burrito.
That's good.
They're actually very good.
I'm very good.
Anyway.
You know what we spoke about?
Is that true?
This one's really good.
Mission Burrito.
I think that is true, yeah.
Because they were giving out those crisps,
weren't they?
Yeah, I don't remember.
I do remember that.
They're the stand.
Yeah.
We can't remember.
We can't remember the crisps.
Anyway.
Do you remember it?
We said it looked like it had a manual gearbox.
Yes.
But it also had paddles.
Yes.
Bit of your own medicine was it there,
Benjamin.
Is he trying to chat into my conversation?
He was bringing this news million.
Just do it.
Porsche have patented a foam manual gearbox
and all of the sketches and drawings look
very similar to that shifter.
Interesting.
So I think that that's what they're doing,
because that's what they've said.
How similar is this to the 12th Slindry?
I think very.
The Dodecchi Slindry.
Which also, there have been reviews of that now.
I've seen that.
I've seen that.
People say that it's very good.
I watched only one, which was the Chris Aries one.
Mm-hmm.
And one thing he did say.
He said that it was basically the reason why
they didn't do it in the first place is I can
understand why they were all autos,
or why they were all panel shifts,
because it's incredibly hard to drive very fast.
Mm-hmm.
Because you've got 800 trillion million
horsepower, 900 million thousand revs,
and you have to change gears yourself.
I don't think I haven't seen that.
Why is that hard?
Well, because of how quickly you're going
through them, if you're sorry.
Oh, right.
You'd be going...
(laughs)
So it's a bit unchanging with you.
It's a bit knacker-y.
Yeah.
It's all hot potato-ing it through.
I've only watched the Chris Harris one.
To be fair.
So I haven't seen any others.
As anyone tested the stall thing.
Yeah, yeah.
I've seen that.
I wonder if...
Oh, you have?
Yeah, it stools.
You've done it?
It stools.
Whatever you've done.
Who said that?
I've watched multiple layers,
people stools.
Oh, cool.
And it stools right nice.
Yeah.
I'm sure it doesn't make the way that stools lovely.
Just like a course of B.
How bizarre is that?
Yeah.
Tell someone that 20 years...
Tell someone 20 years ago of that,
that in another 20 years time,
they're going to be like, "This one simulates stalling."
They go, "Why would you want that?
Why does anyone want that?"
But I mean, it's cool that they made it,
I guess.
I think it's great.
I don't understand how before,
in the early 2000s, we were in the heyday of
developing robotized manuals that nobody did
this, that no one did a stick that you can
still shift, but without a clutch pedal.
Why did I see this?
No, how's it going on down?
No, how's the clutch pedal?
The testerossa, what's called,
the Agnelly one was also that.
But wasn't there a clutchless manual?
The Al Spider or something?
It has a clutch pedal.
What?
Yeah, I know.
But I'm saying, in terms of when they were
developing this whole new age of gearbox
where it's like we're gonna do it for you,
surely it has to have been floated this idea
of having a shifter that doesn't have a clutch.
I think there was also a Porsche one.
I guess it was a Porsche one.
I guess it wasn't trendy though.
Yeah.
The actual act of changing a gear with your
hands like a shifter wasn't what we thought
of on a bit.
No, they haven't been on that.
People wanted the Formula One racing
experience where it's all on the wheel.
I don't like that, but I do like this,
this new thing.
It makes sense, it's like if you can't have a
conventional manual and they won't sell very
well, then how hard is it really to do this?
Once you set it up once, you can probably
translate it to most of their gearboxes.
I wonder how it would affect the travel population.
Well, of course.
Firstly, it was my first concern,
but also how it might affect people that
obviously it's only one car,
but how it affects, would that mean,
well, no, I don't wanna throw a 550 anymore
because I can get that, but I still don't
think it will.
The thing is you cannot get from a new car
that you won't get, and I have,
in the Chris Harris review, he did say it's
good, it's still not like the best manual
gearboxes, it's not amazing.
Not to say that all old manual gearboxes are
the best, there are bad manual gearboxes,
but I guess it's nice that it's not looking
enough clutches wearing out or that sort of gunk.
You can't money shift.
You can't.
It does something though, doesn't it?
It just doesn't let you into gear.
It just flashes on the screen.
Idiot.
It's all your valves and then it looks fine.
It has a someone that means that say you are
on a shift from fifth to sixth,
you couldn't accidentally shift into fourth,
that's where you'd be into third or whatever.
You can't actually do that because it just
physically limits the gear.
Although my thought is like you could just
program it out,
so you just put it to third and it would just
say no, which I mean.
It wouldn't be a bit weird if they programmed
in a digital thing that money shifts for you.
Or if you had a random eyes on it,
so you've no idea what the next gear's gonna be.
And it doesn't have, well, maybe they're
setting for it, but it's far from where it
doesn't do automatic, at all,
blip, shift.
Okay, it does.
But you can't, as a setting.
Apparently you can.
But 'cause when Christopher Harris was
driving it, he was healing and towing.
Yeah, they said that they recommend I believe
that you should do that, but I think you can.
I wanna feel it.
Yeah.
I'm not saying that Ferrari should give us one.
Hey, now Ferrari, look, Lamborghini gave Will
a Revuelto, he was Lamborghini owner.
Hey, now I've got the cheapest one.
Is it for us?
Is it a Doday-Chay-Cilindre Manuel?
Is that not just a 550 in them all that day?
Oh, so that's a Ferrari 550 was the final
ever solely manual sold GT car that they made.
And also, technically, it was the car that
kind of started off that.
It was that.
This goes back further, but the Big V12,
more modern Big V12 started there.
Is the rebirth of 812, all of those,
all of those man come from this guy,
right here.
And Edwin's a customer, so.
Because the customer is always right.
Them?
I don't care.
But I'd like to try it.
I'd want to know, what does the clutch pedal fit?
'Cause I don't know if you will describe it,
but you can't.
No, yeah.
Until you feel it, how do you know?
What's the bike like?
Can you, like, map in electronically,
a little bit of a dodgy clutch where it
hasn't been bled that recently,
so it just feels a little bit,
you know, stiff.
And it's the one you've--
You know, when you brush slip after,
like, 5,000 miles.
Yeah, it gets higher.
So it's worse and worse as you go.
When you rest your foot on it,
you just got a little dead zone before--
You just insert 10 grand into the dash,
and it goes, "No clutch."
Okay, there you go.
You can carry on now.
You can make it.
Well, they wouldn't you clutch at some point,
'cause it's a DCT right.
Yeah, but they're not as, yeah,
they're not gonna need it, really.
DCTs do scare me.
Why?
I've done a day that I have to get a new
clutch in my golf.
I don't know if this is bad as you do.
Just sell it.
With just slipping clutches.
Yeah, yeah.
'Cause that's why I also wrote recently,
is that DCTs are basically just SMG
gearboxes, but they just have two clutches.
They're still physically changing gears of a clutch.
It's very similar.
The DCTs are manual box, but everything's
like, they're designed to do it,
rather than adapting a manual,
like there is no equivalent manual gearbox of
most DCTs, at least in my mind anyway,
whereas like the SMGs, it was just a manual
gearbox with stuff on the side that's like,
well, this is how we're gonna actuate it,
whereas the DCTs are designed to be an auto.
Also, I like how we started on the Porsche
and went, oh, so let's talk about Ferrari.
But Ferrari is more interesting,
to be honest.
This is similar, it's gonna be patented at
their own manual thing.
Crazy.
Oh, no, Lamborghini mate.
Why not we doing that?
I thought about this the other day.
Steph, you know, when we saw him on the
weekend, he didn't say much about that.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Or maybe we're withholding details we know about.
Yeah, true, maybe we don't know anything.
We don't know anything.
You know, on that, you left briskly after all.
That par four, where Ben's cream crack of it,
straight up center.
Obviously, it's just talking about it.
Because I haven't heard.
Absolutely pure it.
But Lamborghini won't be interesting,
but again, it would be the Revuelto.
Yeah.
This is 1100 horsepower manual gearbox.
It feels almost like it would be actual tough work.
Yeah.
You'd get in and go, all right,
Jesus Christ, there we go.
Imagine if they got rid of the,
whoa.
Okay, we'll see.
If they got rid of, got rid of the hybrid
system, which would get rid of the front
wheel drive, well not front wheel drive,
but the front wheels being driven.
So you'd have V12, probably still like 800
horsepower, but it'd be very similar to the
Ferrari, but it would be a manual.
You're crazy.
The manual events still then.
I see, but the thing is, that car is now so,
it's life has always been automatic,
but it doesn't make sense.
It's the same thing that I feel with people
who are swapping E55 AMGs.
It doesn't suit a manual, it's not for that.
That's not the car for it.
But if you bring out a new car,
or like a relatively new one that hasn't yet
got that, what would you call it?
The legend status of it being having that
wack into next gear, same thing it would suit.
I actually love SMGs.
I'm going to say that.
I really like them.
They're a gum in the future.
There we go.
In other quadripleau, it doesn't make so much sense.
But when, I mean, Will took Benedict Fowers,
then stored down like that.
Crazy sentence to say.
Yeah, down a sat-apod.
God, that was really...
I was, yeah, that did give me.
I think, again, though, it's that thing where
you are, it's a nice balance between a manual
and a auto.
You can drive it auto, but it's clunky.
and annoying and horrible, but it's not as
bad as having to drive a manual in traffic.
I know they're bad, but it's not as annoying
to drive as a manual is in traffic and whatever.
It's funny, though, isn't it,
M3, for example, they go, "Yeah,
SMG, yeah, no, I can't get a manual,
so I've got ISNG, yeah, I know it's bad."
But the event's still, everyone goes,
"I'm defending him."
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
He deserves that, 'cause he's just so good.
People were saying, "I don't want it to go to a DCT."
Yeah.
And after go, the Revuelto is very cool,
but it was missing.
It was missing that.
It is...
40:00 Bentley Logo Asymmetry Fact and Discovery 2 Encounter
Yeah.
So anyway, there was something else manual rated.
I've just remembered it in my head.
I don't know if I read it wrong,
but DK post-op about F-Cars,
Ferrari's F-5000s, yeah.
And there was what I believed to be a tease
towards an Enzo
manual, which is so cool, if so.
Now, I think if Trump in the video mentioned
that Enzo's was delivered with another pedal,
I don't know what that means.
You know about that?
I don't know.
I feel like I remember seeing something about
F50s having variable size brake pedals that
you could have
different types for.
So maybe they continued that into Enzo,
I don't know.
Just an extra pedal.
Just have an extra one, mate.
I just wouldn't want that.
But a manual doesn't...
Things I wouldn't expect to know a few years
ago, supposedly Enzo's gearboxes are not good
at all like they're not.
It's not a great drive, not that we'll ever
feel it
ourselves.
But I can imagine them that it's not a great drive.
It makes sense.
Also, if you have...
There's a guy in America that has the one
that has the targetops.
It has the highest amount of miles.
Why not don't one of those cars?
It's not worth as much, still going to be
worth a lot.
I was thinking, you know, he talks about the
Revenant about that there was technically
there was an option for that to be a manual.
It's just that no one chose it.
But I thought with all that styling and it
would have just used the gated shifter.
It would have been like fighter jet,
fighter jet, mura shifter.
I wonder if they did something.
If they were making it like matte black,
if someone chose it, would they have had to
do something crazy else with it.
So that's probably why when he said about
people were discouraging them,
it's because they were like,
we don't know what we're going to do.
We do not want to put that shift knob in our event.
And how many, how many of those would have
then found themselves in Shonky,
Miami, Mercy of Argos?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
10 years later.
God, that would have been horrible.
What we got next?
I have a fact.
There we go.
I just have to read it a bit.
Is it?
It's a shadow.
Okay.
For one moment, Ben.
Look, look, if you're going to keep interrupting me.
Yes, sir.
There's about Bentley logo.
I saw a reel about this.
Yes.
Someone told me.
Someone showed me.
It was the internet.
Someone on Instagram said, "Fair enough."
But the Bentley logo is not symmetrical.
Now, this is, some of you will go,
"I do not care."
But some of you, like us, like us,
will have this as your little fact that you
can go, "Did you know the Bentley logo is not
symmetrical?"
Ben's on his phone because he doesn't care.
So it's asymmetrical.
I'm looking at...
Now, B, obviously not.
But it's more the actual sort of...
The wings.
The wings on it itself.
What a different amount of feathers left and right.
What's heavier?
Pound feathers or a pound of steel,
pound of penalties.
And that's because apparently it's sort of
1900s, or I think it was 1920s,
1930s, Bentley was a big deal.
And there were a lot of people counterfeiting
and copying and taking that badge,
basically.
So in order to stop that, they secretly changed.
I think it was like 10 feathers on one side,
11 on the other, so that they would know that
all the counterfeits would have an even
amount that they did before.
I thought it was just an interesting bit of fact.
It's cool.
And I'm going to go around counting Bentley feathers.
And it turns out they changed it in the early 2000s.
You're walking around.
It's going wrong.
You have a fake.
You have a Chinese copy.
1919.
Yeah.
World War I ends.
Not true.
Yeah, before.
Okay.
The original badge featured unequal numbers of feathers.
Rolls Royce bought Bentley in 1931 and
changed the badge to 10 feathers on each side.
Rolls Royce said, absolutely.
not bloody hell.
In 2002, Bentley restored the asymmetry using
10 feathers on the left and 11 on the right.
Oh, cool.
2025, Bentley introduced a new sharper logo
that still retains deliberate asymmetry.
Oh, that's cool.
I like that.
I like that they've kept that.
Also goes back to our point of you don't need
to do big changes on things.
You should have some, some, some vibes of originality.
What do we think the 10 and 11 signifies?
That's because of the 10 cylinders that you
find in the Bentley blower.
No, sorry, the 12 cylinders,
but if you put the spark plugs in wrong,
it will drop to 11 and then to 10.
And that'd be in the middle is for the
bollocks noise you make when it happens.
They made me thoughts.
I won't comment.
You won't comment.
Does it make sense?
Well, we saw in the SBR video as well that
the Gallardo has, you know, the one with the slats.
That was 10.
Yeah, kind of.
So, you know, all of these design languages
that are just made up a share coincidence.
What have we got next?
You've put inheritance, strangers and freaks,
real world.
This was the only way I could think to describe it.
I went to pick up the ML from MOT on the weekend.
And what I saw was something I could only
describe as it would be in a game and you
think it's a little bit too on the nose.
I was pulling out of the MOT center and there
was a shonky, imagine a discovery too,
right?
I don't have to say much more,
but it was one lifelive, it's thicker.
General grabbers on it.
Some mud up the side looking shonky,
sweaty driver.
But this is what I noticed.
I immediately saw it, because I think
Discovery 2s are quite horrible,
that's the newberry inside of me.
Did I say horrible?
I think they're quite cool.
Oh, right.
Did I say horrible?
No, you said horrible.
Sorry, I didn't mean that.
I think they're quite cool sometimes.
That's the horrible newberry inside of me.
But I immediately saw the driver and the
driver looked worried.
I was like, what's going on here?
And I noticed he was towing another Discovery
2, but this one was bobtailed,
this one was full off-road.
It had plates on it, but it was full.
And what was behind that, but just a police
car going down down down a high street,
following him quite closely.
I was thinking that that is a perfect,
there is essence of there's that man is scared.
Yeah, I know why this man is the most scared.
He couldn't be more pull overable if he tried.
Yeah, that's that's the equivalent being in
Birmingham with a 4D gel plate on a thus far.
That's our boxer equivalent.
Please would run all the checks and go,
it's insured, it's taxed.
The guy on the system looks like the guy
driving the guy, but we should probably still come over.
I think there's red diesel in there.
Probably something's not right.
Yeah, there's going to be something that's
not the right plates or something else,
but perhaps it's just an honest chap.
But I saw it.
I was like, this is a random world occurrence
in a game where it's just something for me to
see it going.
That's funny.
Speaking of that, I think disco,
is that disco too?
Is that disco too?
bit like the Rover people where they do tend
to have to.
Oh, yeah.
There's like the Daily Smoker,
which has, it's lifted.
It's got like, oh.
It probably have General Grab,
but it's a bit more roady.
And then there is the bobtail thing.
And the Rover V.
They're main one.
They're somewhere.
Their
main one is always got a ripped striber's bonster.
Always.
Always does.
It's got a roof, like not a roof box,
but like the sort of tray on the top.
Exactly.
They keep copper pipe banners and shovel.
Yeah.
Shovels.
Shovels that don't really get used.
Shovel, in case I need to dig whole.
Yeah, exactly.
But then there is that they'll be the
modified one, which is like wide arch,
it's probably a bobtail.
It's got lots of those.
It's really shonky.
It's bad.
It gets rougher.
And I think the crossover there is the Rover V.A.
As soon as you start anyone that starts to
mess by putting Rover V.A.s and things,
you end up with two.
They're out there looking for a discovery one
that has the Rover V.A.
in it already.
This is the perfect starting point for me.
This was a project.
You did it yourself.
The only thing they're upset about is that
they can't put a TD5 inside sticker on it.
It's the one bound full.
Has this ever run?
It hasn't.
Fantastic.
I
mean, I'll come and pick it up with my other one.
We have a
new bullshit tire brand.
We did.
This was sent in by Sam's
car valeting who did lots of the car valeting
and cleaning
and what's so crazy.
In actual fact, it's too good.
I actually don't like seeing that car clean
because it should live dirty and covered in bugs.
I saw it.
I was like, "What cool?
I can call them eggs."
That's my lovely little fella there.
The buck and bullet, Ben's car looks fantastic.
Like, for a car, it doesn't go backwards.
It looks amazing.
Yep.
Awful as well.
Anything.
He sent me a photo of a tire he saw,
which was called the vigorous HP 801.
Now, you know what?
That's the top I've got a lovely set of vigorouses.
Normal.
I thought it should be off-road.
Yeah.
I'm going to wonder if the HP is high performance.
That would be all source here.
How is the Parliament?
You know what?
Rest source these days.
Can't remember the last time I saw an HP
source out in the world.
Only in pubs.
Yeah.
You can get it in five, guys.
I don't like it.
What?
Oh, I might have to sample it.
Do you like it?
I like it a bit of HP's.
In moderation.
Is it brown sauce?
Yeah.
No, it's HP's sauce.
But it's different.
It is brown sauce.
What's daddy's?
Daddy's favorite sauce bottles.
Is it the same?
Yeah, daddy's favorite.
Wow.
That is crazy.
What a deep cut.
We can't explain.
That's just barbecue for me.
Ben.
Hi.
Are
you putting it here?
I can feel something brewing in this.
Oh, here we go.
Are you putting heated seats?
Yeah, I want
to ask the cream as a question.
Oh, I thought you were
going to be angry about them.
No, I like them a lot.
I miss
them.
That's where it comes from.
I don't have heat seats now.
Wow.
It's actually one of the options in that car
that most of them do have in mind,
doesn't it?
And someone just, someone straight up cold asked.
I'd like to know, anyone who,
who listens, who owns a Golf GTD or a Mark 7 Golf.
Can I have it?
Can you retrofit heated seats?
Bro, we're asked creepers instead of just
looking on the internet.
I've looked it up.
I can't work out.
There's, you can buy a button panel,
you know, look, the clamp control button panel.
I have two blank spots where the heated seats
are, and you, you can buy that panel like the
one that heated seats.
Just buy it and put it in, click it.
That's what I mean.
For like 30 quid, you can buy it,
but are they all set up for it?
That's my question.
I don't know if the seats have the heat
elements in them and I'm missing the wiring.
They're just the price for lots of that stuff.
Lots of it is, some of it's really easy,
some of it might just be that you need a heated seat.
Yeah.
And the button panel.
Well, I've read, well, what,
I have done some research.
These are my research that shows that I
shouldn't have asked the question.
Basically, it's, I worked out,
it's unclear whether the seat has heat
elements in it already and whether they just
don't allow you to use them or whether the
seat is a different seat and whether it has
the wiring or anything.
Because it has no wiring to the bottom of the seat.
And it's just, it's a non-starter.
Whereas if it, I can get new seats and just a
button panel, but possibly will depends on the loom.
Where's the loom end?
I had this with the alpha is the alpha is I
have heated seats in the car.
I even have, because the switch on that is on
the seat itself, but it's, it's,
it's blue balling me.
I look down and I go, I could put the heat
on, but I can't.
It doesn't do anything.
So you're missing the wiring for the site.
Yeah.
The wiring underneath is different heat seats
and non heat seat, but it might not be the
same with yours.
I had it with my Focus ST, where I had an
ST2, which didn't have heat seats,
and you could put in ST3 levers,
which I think they're all heated,
I can't remember, but the ones I bought were heated.
And then you just put in the button panel,
the heated seats, because there's the wiring
is just behind all the same.
You plug it in, away you go.
So I'm willing to bet it's probably some
stupid VW thing where it's like,
you need the actual heated seat.
You need a car panel and you need to probably
tell the car it has it, i.e.
programmed in.
Yeah.
So if it's that, I can't
51:30 Heated Seats Debate on Volkswagen Golf GTD
vast, but if it's a thing of like,
has anyone done it?
It's my question.
But programming is not the end of the world.
No, that's, yeah, that can be done.
People, there are people who know things.
It's just, if it's going to be some sort of
massive thing, it's not worth it.
But if it was like a case of that,
now, what, what is your backup in case that can't work?
Cold, you're not going to like,
I'm going to put a shirt in the microwave and
then just sit on that.
I got some heating pads I bring with me to work.
And actually, feel my hands.
My back back.
Of course, your ankle.
I get very, I have a hurt and clear,
but all right, stop believing for it.
Edward, you've been doing this all day.
I'm really off a pallet the other day.
Okay, I'll step to my pallet.
Will was there.
How high was the pallet?
Was it?
Not high.
Was it like stacked super high?
Three inches, four inches.
Yeah.
And what was the pallet?
And I stepped off of it and I rolled my ankle
in a 90 degree way and it made a big pop and
I've had a swollen ankle.
It did make a pop.
It did.
I thought it was you who made the pop.
You were the weasel.
I said it was a divot and I rolled it and how
long ago was that?
I was so long ago.
But if it was a spray in it,
it can last a while, but my ankle's been
swollen for like a long time.
Old person with that.
All day has been as mentioned as ankle yet today.
If you did, though, because it hurts.
But things that hurt you, they just tend to
go on for longer.
I'm massive, massive, massive.
You know how you hear old people?
They're just a bit more weak.
It's like they get a cold, a die or not even a cold.
No, I just.
That is kind of feasible, but it's like,
Arlie just had a bit of a sniffle.
Spat and there's died.
Bumped his elbow.
But what have I done?
Right.
Hang on.
This is not fair.
You know, to tweak to your leg in bed.
Dead.
You call me weak all the time.
Which is possibly true, but I hurt my ankle,
which is a one off.
Yeah.
I've had a back thing for years.
No, that's, but we don't make fun of
the back thing.
But you do.
You say that I'm already in
Bendy.
You say you're Bendy.
You're eight out of nine Bendy.
I am matched on the scale of Bendiness.
If you know what that means,
then you do.
I can't explain.
I'm very Bendy and I have a bad back and you
always make fun of me for that.
No, we'd make fun of you being Bendy,
not for the back.
The back I have.
The back is your...
I've said that you will die early.
Why?
I have a bad back.
Which is why you should buy an Aston Martin sooner.
Exactly.
Realistically, you're running a bar of time.
So you should be looking at life with a
different outlook.
Yeah.
You should be looking at...
Tomorrow, more could be my last day.
Today is the first day of the rest of your life.
We'll particularly just laugh at my any
medical condition I have.
It's quite funny.
No, because it's just strange.
I'll say I had to take some medication in my back.
I'm allergic to it.
I told Will he'd just laugh.
You can't fix.
You can't be fixed.
I don't know.
It's an unlucky one off.
You got to call him Ben Long Crank Rogers.
It's a mystery.
I had no one send him into a specialist and
they go, "I've got no idea."
I had no idea about that.
And I told Will, thinking he'd be like,
"Oh, you're all right.
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
Did you die?
No.
Okay.
You're good."
And he just laughed at me.
He literally said, "You've got a problem."
He said, "Here's the fix."
I'm probably going, "I can't do that.
No, kill me."
"That'll kill me."
No.
I have one issue.
I have one issue for you.
Five.
We move on.
So, Wendy, Ben can't be fixed.
We start.
Eight out of nine, Ben.
It is eight out of nine on the scale.
But you wanted to see it.
I loved it.
I thought that was going to be a rant from Ben.
No, I know.
I tried to work it out.
I can't.
And if I wonder if anyone's done it,
there's this.
I think you'll have some creamers that have sorted this.
Oh, in EVW as well would be helpful.
I've gone off.
Mine is a Scirocco.
What?
What?
They're the best thing in the world.
Yeah.
You think that?
I do.
That's my thing.
I respect that.
No, but since not having it,
I don't have it in anything.
Yeah, but OK.
The M3 has it, but I don't use it.
But here's my thing.
Have you, when was the last time you actually used it?
Because I think that I'm like,
I'm fine without it.
And I've turned them on.
I go, oh, my girlfriend's got it.
That's nice.
And I used it recently.
And I thought, I haven't missed this.
What sort of day was it?
Was it a cold?
A 45 degree.
The weather has turned recently.
I could go without these.
The weather has turned recently.
And that's why I thought, why don't I give that go?
And I thought, I don't need that.
Wow.
Well, I know you're wrong.
You know what?
Here's what I believe.
Heated seats off the mornings.
In the afternoon.
Completely fair point.
No, but if it's cold in the afternoon,
if I'm leaving the unit, I don't want heat
seat on then.
You're wrong.
I'll just, I'll just firm it.
But in the morning, it really warms the cockles.
There was a winter when I had decks five and
those seats were talking like peasants.
There was a cold winter.
Yeah.
Many moons ago.
had the X5 and we used to podcast late in the
evening, which we are currently doing.
And now it gets dark at what we're talking
before five now.
We're at that time.
It's gone back in it.
So it means the riveting.
It means now
that tonight I'm going to leave old man then.
I'm going to get in my car.
I can't, I can't turn my heat seat on.
I haven't got one.
And it's sad.
I used to feel so good.
You like that.
I'd love that.
Also, I would say one thing.
It's cold keeps your Greg pizza slice that
you used to get.
I used to always do that.
I have something.
Sorry.
It's kind of related.
The alpha is with Bob at the machine shop
cutting the front end off it.
That's a little teaser for what you'll see in
the next episode.
But do you know what car Bob drives?
Bob has a car.
Makes sense.
Like a daily.
A daily.
What is it?
I'll give you one guess.
An X5.
It's not a sheer on.
It's close.
Not a put.
What?
Is it?
You've got one guess each.
I'm an X5.
is going to be an ML63.
It is a denser.
No way.
A denser.
He's got a press car denser.
And I was asking about it because he said
he's like, I'm not actually that into cars.
I like bikes.
He's actually a very funny man.
We want to have him on the podcast at some point.
And it's a denser, man, something we should know.
It's a denser four by four.
Yeah, which is my first thought that we can
get a denser.
I
want a denser.
Well, but hold on.
It would mess with our existing contract
where they, you know, pay us for the promotion.
Yeah.
So we, they'd have to up.
We'd have to up it.
Yeah.
So this model that I obviously know a lot
about with denser ambassadors.
Yes.
He said it has a fridge in it,
which, okay, normal.
It will go to like six degrees or something.
It also has an oven in it.
Oven.
And it heats to, I want to say it was 60
something degrees.
So you can get a, it's in the car somewhere.
But he said, I will buy things like something
warm, chuck it in there.
It's hot when it comes out.
And it's not bad, I dare.
In the oven.
If I got a car, I could, Greg's like,
that's what I'm saying.
It's a pizza.
You can get that, stick it in there.
You don't have to eat it, you know,
instantly because of the fact that it's getting cold.
You just have that guy.
And that way, when you got there,
chicken would still be warm.
Ben's a, hold on.
Let's go.
That would have legit helped me a lot.
Yeah.
Because I used to have Greg's pizzas a lot.
Would it have helped you?
Which one, Ben, Pepperoni or was?
I'd go actually margarine a lot of time.
I believe that a tel of a good pizza place is
how good their margarine is.
It's not a pizza place.
The integrated, warm, cool compartment in
denser vehicles such as the B5,
B8, D9 and Z9GT can heat up to 50 degrees Celsius.
That's hot.
But that would have been fantastic.
Because where is it?
It's
in the cooling function.
In the fridge and hot box.
And how
long was this?
They are combined things.
I think, I think you can't have--
You can't take something out of your fridge
and put it in the oven.
If you leave a Coca-Cola in there while
you're on also for you, it's tough time for you.
So Coke at 60 degrees is crazy.
I'll just do my chocolate bar in there.
Oh, shit.
Does it say how long you can have it on for?
I would assume as long as the car's on.
As soon as you turn it on.
Because that was my issue.
How long can you have your oven on for?
As long as you want.
But my issue was, is that I go to Greg's at a
service station, put a get a Greg's pizza.
But I wouldn't want to eat it straight away.
I want to get home and eat it.
But I have to eat it because we're cold.
And we sat in a dark car seat in a Greg's.
I get some sort of sad life.
I'm so mad at it.
Where's all your range gone?
I can't go anywhere.
I've got the oven on.
What an odd existence that we live in now.
You walk into pay for your phone and go,
don't I eat the oven on?
And they have to run back to your car.
They think you think you're going back home
and you go, no, it's all good.
Just checked it.
Can I get one food that you would both put in the oven?
What would you use it for?
I would put in the oven.
That's a good question.
I'd like to have a full beef bologna in the denser.
I'm thinking of slow cooking and a piece of gammon.
Actually, on a long journey,
that would be quite good.
I think soup.
Soup rolls.
1:00:00 Denza D90's Unique Features and Cooking Capabilities
I love soup.
I had soup just yesterday.
Sorry, the cooling temperature range is minus
six to 15 degrees.
It's a freezer.
It's you can freeze it.
So what would you to freeze in your car?
Ice.
Yeah, if you have an ice cream with you.
That's actually, no, that's a great point
because you know in the summer,
we'll do it.
We'll go and get a bit of lunch and then on
the way to the cold, we'll pop into a little
shop and get an ice cream.
Then you want to eat your hot food first.
That's true.
That's true.
You could whack the ice cream in the freezer
or half an hour or so.
Why should you try to whack?
Or vice versa.
You could do it whichever way round you like
because you've got both functions,
but only independently of one another.
So if I've got a cold drink,
oh, I'm sorry, if I've got a warm soup and
you've got an ice cream, we're going to fight.
But how often do you make too much soup or we
get a denser each?
Regulate.
So what you do is you eat, if you can't
finish your soup, you can freeze your soup.
That's a great point.
That's a great point.
You can freeze things that aren't,
but it's just loose.
And also.
block of frozen soup.
But also you can, you can meal prep via your car.
So if you're at home, you're like,
right, we don't have anything in the fridge,
flexing the freezer.
Someone go, what's in the denser?
Running the denser?
Cool.
We've got some chicken casserole from last
week frozen in the denser.
I wonder, pop that in.
I'd start putting, I actually would start
putting meal because you could then heat it up.
That's what I mean.
In the car.
On your trip, you could have a frozen chicken
casserole in the denser, getting in the
morning, drive across.
It might have been warm.
Yeah, or like I could park at the unit,
and I go right, switching from frozen to hot,
he can cook all day like a slow cooker,
and I've got like Trini Concani,
ready when I get out of the unit.
I want to know dimensions.
I can get you that because I think that could
be a limiting kind of thing.
Because you know, you get like a mini fridge.
It's like, can't really fit much in there.
The idea is novel, but actually fit one can.
Yeah, but how much?
It features a four liter capacity in the
front center console, which can hold up to
six soda cans or a standard 2D to carton and
up to 10 liter capacity in the rear center armrest.
2D to cart.
The four liters of soup is quite a lot.
Well, you don't know who you're talking to,
bro.
I can get that done.
The four liters of soup is...
That's four liters of soup.
Oh my God.
Four liters of soup.
Let me get the maths on this.
Ben's going to look up the average soup size.
Is that what you've...
What have you typed in verbatim?
How much is a standard serving of soup?
How much is my soup?
I'm going to assume it's a main course.
You're asking, hey,
if there is a regulation soup size that
someone could walk
in the restaurant and go, I've been undersold my soup.
Because what I would do is I'd have a cup,
which is separate.
And what I would do is I'd fill the entire
center console with soup and I'd have a ladle
and I'd just start serving.
People, like Oliver Twist.
Right.
If you're using it as a main course,
we're talking about 350 to 480 milliliters.
That's good.
So that's like 10 servings of soup.
You're coming off on 10 soups.
That's a whole week meal prep,
bum.
A lot of soup.
I like it.
Denza, look, Will, do you know,
Will test this theory?
You think we won't?
I'll pour soup
into the center console with your car.
Now comes to like leek and potato.
Yeah.
It sounded like a ham soup.
Pian ham.
Yeah.
It was.
It was.
It was.
It was.
It was.
It was.
It was.
It tasted.
That's like.
Pian ham.
Yeah.
Well, they like blend up the ham.
That's what school dinners are now.
What is it?
How?
What is P's and ham?
Yeah.
Well, but the ham is blended up into the soup.
Uh, no, they're like chunks of ham,
surely.
Trunks of ham.
Yeah.
Like a sort of.
You had this.
No, I'm just imagining what it would be.
You don't eat soup.
You don't take a sort of like a eat soup.
That's not food.
I think.
Sweet.
A lot of food.
Great.
No, yeah.
I like drinking it.
That's like a drink.
I like having a nice bit of crusty bread.
Yeah.
What happened to this car podcast?
Well, I have no idea, but I really want this man.
Anyway, shout out Bob and your denser night.
Yeah, Bob and the denser.
And if denser is listening, what is going on?
That's what we need to be doing.
How many times do you see denser related media?
And the creamers are in the comments saying or something.
I do.
Why?
I was going to say that's what I was about to set.
The creamers on the denser page asking about soup.
But don't do that because maybe we'll get one
and then we'll test the theory.
How many people also genuinely in their on
their podcast in their content,
organically talk about soup,
not soup?
No, yeah, no.
Okay.
Sure.
Have a taste of the sandwich.
If context that is out.
So a creamer was listening to the podcast and
got interrupted with an advert that will say,
do you say, is it you, you go?
It's me.
It's a random advert.
It comes in, if you're listening as an audio
viewer, it sounds like I'm speaking like I am right now.
And then it just cuts to.
But you say, it's like my voice sounds like,
have you ever smelled a sandwich?
But it was you teed it up, essentially,
in the end, that you go, hold on,
I've got something for you.
And then it pauses and goes,
have you ever smelled a sandwich?
I don't mean to say how many people,
how many influencers and stuff genuinely on
their content talk about denser organically?
I know.
And how many people that are paid to?
Well, well, there you go.
Us.
We do it.
We're not.
We are doing it for the love.
Of the game.
True.
Yeah.
And Daniel Craig.
Just like Renault, mate, we're still waiting on you.
Oh, wait.
There is an update on the Renault says that eBay thing.
The eBay thing.
So you don't know about this,
Ben.
I don't know.
So
House of Frog.
I talked about this brand.
We want it.
We
need it.
Yeah.
After that, and this was a creamer that sent
us in.
It seems that after that went out,
Renault UK have an eBay page where they sell
old Clios and things.
(both laugh) Oh, it's dark.
They sell like official accessories and I
think they will sell parts as well as on there.
They started listing House of Frog merch on there.
And a lot of them are awaiting item photos.
So I wonder if they heard us when us,
we got angry and they went, all right,
all right.
And so they started listing them on eBay.
So if you type House of Frog on eBay,
we haven't ordered anything yet.
We probably now need to before Thursday.
Otherwise they're gone.
Also, Renault, we just need to sit back and
wait for them to talk about this and we print money.
Wow, you actually, yeah, there's a few on there.
That's that out and see what happens.
So you need some of that.
House of Frog is just cool.
Renault, still waiting for you.
Head us up.
And then there's still none.
Renault or Denza, whoever gets to us first.
Why do brands hate us?
Is it 'cause we're a bit odd?
Is it 'cause we're talking about a P.M.
Ham soup?
No invite to the 12-cylindery manual.
No house of frog.
No.
No Denza long-term press car.
No hosts of Grand Tour.
No, what's going on?
What is the fuck?
You threw that one in there,
didn't you?
It's been brewing for a while.
We could talk about that at some point.
Go on, talk about it now.
Why not?
Many moons ago, we got into into the Grand Tour.
Yeah.
And do you know what?
The reason, and I will hold this with me for
the rest of my life, the reason they said
they like that they just even wanted to talk
to us is 'cause they saw the intro to the
Crossfire in Zafira video where Will's in the
boot of the Crossfire and I jump over the
bonnet of the Zafira.
But do you know what?
I said to Will after we talked to them,
I do not care if they don't really our number after this.
The fact that they saw that and went,
that's kind of funny.
It was like early days, it was pretty,
I'd say it was like six months,
six or eight months.
This was Zafira and Crossfire.
Yeah, so maybe even for a few months,
it was very early days and I got an email,
we got an email through to like the,
I can't remember what email,
just the general email.
And I was at home at the time,
we were both on a call.
We were both at home, we were both at home
living together.
No, we were on a call together and this email
came through and I was like,
Edwin, hang on.
I looked at it for a moment without saying anything.
I was like, that's a scam.
I vividly remember Will's tone because we've
worked together for long enough that I can
tell and it was, you went, the hang on.
And I immediately was like, oh,
what's this?
What's going on here?
And yeah, it was an email from them.
I thought it was a scam.
I was like, I heard it was an intel because
it was like, Grand Tour.
It was quite, it wasn't very secretive.
It was like, this is what we're doing.
Yeah.
Can you do it?
And then I googled the studio and I was like,
okay, and I googled the guy's email.
I was like, okay, this is all legit.
Yeah.
Welling, isn't that a person?
And again, none of this was like final.
Do you want like full, full details of stuff?
Freddy Tavares just did a Vinwiki story and
it turns out his process was exactly the same.
There were many, many people in the morning.
Lots of people.
We went into London and had a chat with them
and they seemed to be very pleased with the then.
And then we had to go and do like a chemistry test thing.
And we knew, we knew going to the chemistry
test that we were, we were in the,
we were in the bottom, the drags,
the drags of the soup in the denser,
like a center console.
was very fun.
We even then met a few of the people who work
on the Grand Tour and they were very cool and very funny.
It was actually, that was part of the reason
how you
managed to get the interview with the guys.
Well, that and
partly because James kind of pushed for it as
well, but the contact, they actually make contact.
as I went through those guys.
But look, you know, thanks for not choosing us.
But as a bare minimum, come and get an
interview with the guys, which is really good.
But I think we both know it was not the right time.
No, we were in a few hours in it.
There was the process was we played Skai
Electric, play Skai Electric.
We did a sort of Top Gear Grand Tour news segment.
Yeah.
We had to build a tricycle that didn't go well.
That was not good.
We had to like a walk around.
We call it a review type thing of a car.
That was the bit I was going to talk about,
because that was the bit that when Tavares
talked about it in his video,
it brought back a trade.
A memory I didn't want to remember.
It was the worst day of my life ever.
I messed so up so unbelievably,
because we had to do it individually.
The rest of the day was us together doing
stuff because we were like one,
but together, essentially.
And then that part of it was,
it's going to review a car, but you need to
do it on your own.
And it's like two minutes or something.
Yeah, two minutes or something.
interior.
Yeah.
And I don't even remember.
I think I might have done exterior.
And I remember rehearsing.
Yeah.
The night before I was stood in the,
in my, this is around about when I was
building the Clio engine, I think I was just
stood in the garage rehearsing stuff.
And then now I'm thinking, why was I not to do that?
Yeah.
Well, because I was then on the day,
I'm not trying to remember lines.
I'm not an actor.
No, yeah.
That's all.
Exactly.
I'm doing it now.
You do it completely different,
but that's the point.
So that was just amazing to be considered at that time.
Genuinely.
And even watching, watching it now,
all.
Not that I think we'd do any worse of it.
I love the fact that we got,
we get to watch it now with the grand,
uh, with, uh, the throttle house guys in Francis now.
Like it's very cool seeing other YouTubers.
It's cool that they considered YouTubers for that.
That's the coolest thing to me.
That there were people that we heard of
getting audition that we were like,
that's cool.
Yeah.
That's cool.
We're all kind of randomly, yeah.
There were lots of, obviously,
they don't want to say names until they
actually want to talk about it,
but the, obviously we knew it was happening.
I think we'd had our little London chat and I
can't, I think we was coming up for that
little chemistry test, which was also in London.
And then we were at Drive Tribe Live.
Yeah.
And the throttle house guys happened to be
there and I was like, they do come to the UK,
but not that regularly.
Yeah.
And we looked at the thought,
they're there for this, aren't they?
And then obviously months and months later it came back.
But yeah, well, we got an email based on
saying that, thanks, but no thanks.
But it was, yeah, just a mad experience really.
It was so cool.
It was almost like an affirmation of like,
you know, a TDC is kind of on the right path.
We're doing something right for people to
have noticed it, but it was just,
it was
1:12:00 Grand Tour Auditions Experience and Future Video Ideas
on the right timing.
And actually, TDC has gone incredibly well since then.
Yeah.
Who knows?
Maybe the podcast might not have happened,
had that happened.
This is true.
That was all pre-podcast.
And then, you know, we don't feel scornful
that you didn't, you know, employ us for the
Grand Tour, obviously seeing as you're the
puppet master for it.
Okay, listen, it was me and James.
Who does listen to podcast?
Shout out, James.
Shout out, James.
All shout out, all three of them.
We'd like to get, perhaps we could get all
three individually at some point,
because I think they'd all be very,
very interesting.
I think you and Thomas all will talk about watches.
I'd love to, I listened to podcasts of Thomas
and about his watches, because I wanted to
know what he was, I was watching the Grand
Tour going, I see that on your wrist.
Ben, the watch guy.
Yeah, I'd love that.
But, hey, this is Canada, don't we?
That's that story, we've put off talking.
It just feels a bit like, you know,
saying, oh, we're interviewed for the Grand
Tour, but that's not how we see it,
it's kind of just, hey, that was nice.
Yeah, it would have been nice though,
wouldn't it?
(laughing) You've really been hiding that one for years.
That might be your longest secret.
It would have just paid for the most of the
while going one or something.
There's a 5/5 Ferrari, 5/5, yeah.
(laughing)
And there's also the, actually it's not
longer, but it is deposed, your video,
I guess.
Yeah.
Do you want a quick one, right off the bat?
I don't know if I have one.
Is that still happening?
Yeah, not this year.
Why's not still happening, but I mean,
it's a tough one.
Just go, give us one off the top of the day.
I don't know, 'cause it was--
I'll explain it then, yeah, and then you can
think, start thinking.
Oh, okay, sassy, are we?
For those that don't know, we told Ben,
many months ago, that he could we each had an
idea for a video when I separately,
we had an external third party confirm that
it was essentially, in some way or another,
the same video idea, that we want to try and
do at some point, but Ben has no idea he
needs to guess.
So Ben, please have a guess right now of what
the video is.
Also for some reference.
Reference?
Reference is that Ben was incredibly close at one point.
Yeah.
And it's been communicated to Ben.
Closer to the time.
Look at this.
He was close.
Right, I don't know.
I thought I got, I don't remember anything
that's happened last year.
For audio listeners.
For audio listeners.
Will was just explaining that he got close.
And Ben looked at me like he has never heard that fact.
I don't know, I don't know.
I don't know what's wrong with it.
I think I'm just, I don't know.
It's the Gary Neville thing.
(both laughing)
Ben, this year, get something.
Here's something.
Oh my God, stop stalling for time.
Can we give you an eye?
I'll give you anything.
Can I have a clue?
It's a video.
Oh, no, give me a clue.
Right, there you go, Car.
But I'm so far now, I don't need a clue.
Get us a clue.
What would you like?
One question you get to ask.
Can I give you something?
Go ahead.
What is the video?
Oh, no.
Okay, in what way does it involve me?
See, now that's difficult because actually we
have different ideas.
We have different ideas for that.
In my video, you are an integral part of it.
Thanks, man.
And the experience that it's had,
you aren't having that experience as well.
That is what I can do.
You're not just there as a videographer,
you're there doing the thing that we're doing.
Okay, have that.
Now you go.
For me, he isn't.
So I'm not going to pretend that the idea is similar.
You don't really require it.
(laughing)
Put it this way, all three of us can be involved.
It's
not buying a car because that would be difficult.
I think
that's a nice little--
I think it's some sort of road
trip.
Okay.
Driving a car somewhere.
Well, let's get what cars it is and where's it going.
Well, I would assume it would be,
well, my thought would be, my thought would
be, you guys are being your dream car,
but I don't know what I would be in.
So--
Because I won't be in an Aston Martin.
Tell us.
Unless it's--
Let's stop being around this bush,
eh?
Plus I get to rent an Aston Martin for it,
but it feels--
Just remember that our ideas are very
similar, but I've just said you're not really needed.
Yeah, that's what I mean.
It would be a dream.
So in Will's idea, you stay home.
Time by me, nice, quiet week.
Well, that would make sense,
then, 'cause it's like, you guys,
it's like your thing, obviously.
I might just be there.
That's happening.
We're gonna do this at some point.
1:16:00 Clarkson's New Car Show
The road trip anyway, but that's not it.
Okay, then I have no idea.
Okay, so you're getting further away.
Yeah, I'm not sure.
I think you need to go back to your homework.
Yeah.
Just listen to your old ideas.
It won't happen.
I don't have no pockets down.
And then it correlates with when we said you
were close there.
Let them look in the creamers,
comment, the creamers will mention it.
Creamers, yeah.
Comment below.
Let us know when that was my last guest.
And then we'll not have looked at it by the next podcast.
I can't, I'll try and read exactly,
but I'm afraid you were close.
You were close.
It was like a differentiation of location,
car, whatever.
It was, well, the idea was wrong.
But overall, you were relatively close in
comparisons where you are now.
Next up, we have, there's Clarkson's back
doing a car thing.
So I know very little about this.
I've seen a photo of the car,
and I've heard that it's something to do with
growing a car.
Yeah, 'cause I saw it announced where it was
like, cut it was just one of those bullshit ass titles.
It was like, top gear returns with jamming Clarkson.
It's not, it's something else.
Clarkson is doing some form of car show in
relation to, I think, Clarkson's farm.
Like, how to grow a car, or something.
I thought, well, how are you gonna grow a car?
Like, that's not, that's the title I'm gonna answer.
That's not as well as it.
Well, actually give us a watch.
But by the looks of it, it looks like he's
built a car, right.
But like a resto, well, I say resto,
well, it's an F type.
Yeah, but this is what I, I'm quite happy for
resto mod to be a very loose term.
There's no, there's no hard and fast,
like it starts from this year,
it goes to this year.
None of that matters.
But I don't think A, you can't do an F type yet.
An F type is too new yet, but B,
if you are going to do an F type,
it has to be radically different.
From what I've seen, it just appears to be a
front bumper, some wheels and an interior region.
That I would class as a modified car.
And it's a V6, which I know he says is,
That's his whole thing, is supercharged V6,
is the guy.
So is that any other photo?
Because it was that some filler of power of,
I don't know what it's called.
I mean, it does look quite cool.
It's interesting, the front bumper looks
quite nice, but it's brown over brown.
It's like a greeny.
Is it the Grand Tour?
Is it green?
It's like a sort of greeny gray.
Oh, look, an Ollie V.
Yeah, I cannot live cool.
Is it the Grand Tour?
What's that?
Yes, it is the one from the Grand Tour.
Is that, no, no, sorry, it's not the off-roading one.
The plate is the same though.
Is it the off-roading one?
We look it up.
I thought it was the other one that he owned.
It's like a standard normal one.
The white one was G.J.
something, the white one.
Oh, you know that.
I can't see that.
I thought you knew off the top of your head,
I was like, jeez.
So we just looked it up.
It's not the car from Grand Tour,
but it is the one that he showed stock that
he showed to Harry's garage.
So he did a video with him on with the
Project A, where he says, look at this photograph.
This is my, you know, I love F-types,
I like the V6.
So it's that car that he's turned into this modified one.
So I'm reporting to you from carscoops.com.
That's, you know, ice cream.
Clarkson Grown Flax was used to build this custom Jaguar.
Is that one experience?
Flax seed.
Yeah.
They put it in the garage.
How do you make that into a Jaguar?
I guess you use it as a seed.
As you may have guessed from the title,
the materials used for the conversion were
cultivated on Clarkson's Thousand Acre Dilly Squat Farm.
Donor vehicle is a pre-faced lifted F-type
supercharged three V6, real-wheel drive,
bloody, bloody, bloody, bloody,
blah.
Visually the model custom body kit with
lightweight composite panels manufactured from Flax.
Oh, interesting.
So he's turned.
Things were penned by Incom.
So okay, so in that case, it makes more sense
then that it's not about the body kit.
It's about what the body kit is made out of.
Leather of House D derived from Clarkson's
livestock, carpets woven from farm-reared
sheep's wool, and tweed inserts.
A cool touch is the tractor logo in bust on
the headrests, finished in Tonga Green.
Oh, wow, that's cool.
That is a land Rover color.
Yeah, I missed the sandwich.
Okay, so that makes a lot more sense then.
So a seed body kit.
1:20:00 Jaguar F-Type Custom Build
I can respect the idea of it more.
I still wouldn't call it a restomold.
Is it a digestion?
Is it?
I think it's got a lot of fiber and flax seed.
Okay, so you can just have a munch on this body kit.
Yeah, with the paint one, do you see this?
When the souvenir is gone, turn to the
F-type, the flax type.
Is it missing someone, interesting,
I guess it's something different,
but yeah, we'll see what that comes out like
as a TV program.
I still--
I'm gonna be honest, I still haven't watched
lots of farm.
It's very good, I know a lot of people are
not that keen on it, but it is just--
They're not?
Well, I thought it was exceptionally popular.
I think it is, for the most part,
it's unbelievably popular.
Yeah.
Because it is very, very good.
And then you scroll through reviews,
it's normally from some newspaper where they
go, same old clocks.
Oh yeah, I've seen that.
But I never get that, 'cause it's like,
they go--
Will you ever change?
Well, the most recent season,
they were like, all the reviews were like,
"Oh, it's the same old thing again,
isn't it?"
The same old thing that made it really
successful and popular as I know it's popular
TV show on Amazon, I don't know whether
they're just making it again.
I'm watching Spot going, "You're still
kicking in though, so got the same goals,
are you?"
Yeah, boring.
They changed it up and for you were doing in the 1900s.
Kick it out, mate, make it interesting.
(laughing)
I'm sure like kicking it up in the air or something.
No, but it's just a very good spot.
He's incredibly good at doing that.
It's informative, funny.
There's all the things that you want from entertainment.
There's no boring bits, either makes you
incredibly emotional or makes you laugh,
or you learn something.
That's what he's really good at.
And a little bit of controversy in there as
well, every now and then.
As always.
And he speaks through a Dutch farmer.
Yeah, so crazy man.
And it's got drones and stuff.
And it's got drones and some of the baddest
things you'll ever see.
Oh yeah, that's fine.
They're on that big stuff.
They're from the different planet.
It's everywhere, so flat, isn't it?
Yeah.
Don't know.
The whole thing's that made out of farm.
Should we end with the Forum Benjamin?
Let's do it.
I have one from Dan Farrow.
Hello, Dan Neal.
Who DM me, I believe.
Forum question.
Ben, can I ask something quickly?
Do you like people DMing you or would you
like it to just be in the comments?
What do you like looking through?
I don't mind.
I think you like to have the friends.
I'm all like to see it with a DM.
I don't know if it's a comment,
'cause I don't really look at comments.
Okay, fair.
There you go.
Please carry on.
What does Dan have to say?
Forum question.
What cars would you be happy with if you had
to keep them standard from factory?
Especially since we're okay,
such as an E46 M3 CSL, for example.
Tough one, as you guys like modified cars and
Edwin especially, can't leave anything alone.
This is a great point.
And I've said there's something that I would
leave, I would leave alone before,
and I can't remember what it is.
But you got nothing.
Yeah, no, I've said before.
Oh, the Tuscan.
The Tuscan I could have a Tuscan completely sound.
Yeah, the noise is a lot better,
but I could still, because how larry it is,
I'd love that car.
You know what it is, because the Tuscan is
the most modified, not modified car.
Yeah, it's not really a car though,
isn't it?
It's not basically a chassis.
It's not a production car, it's an idiot in a
shed that's built a car.
Did you get your hands stuck?
Exactly, you were the overlay,
we were having his hands stuck in the cup of
his--
It's a Tuscan, or do you know what,
a Ranger of a classic?
A standard.
Completely standard.
I don't need to do anything to that.
It would be better if I did things.
Let's have it.
No, no, it's a daily, well you just said it actually.
You're daily in your weekend car unmodified.
Oh, interesting, I think I go for a landing.
But the thing is, it lends itself to going
more like super-carish,
because yeah, I'm not gonna modify an Enzo.
But you're in
a 50.
Yeah, I bet you would.
You were right.
You're not true enough, you were right.
But what I'm saying is that it would be
perfectly enjoyable as it is without anything.
There's less you can do as well.
It's realistically looking at wheels of exhaust.
Yeah, ends what?
Whoa.
Do you know what?
I don't know that you first,
because I think you'll have an instant.
I'm gonna do one daily and one weekend.
Sure, you don't
modify anything anyway, so it's just a goal
from the clear.
Very funny.
Well, that winter's frost is closing.
It is.
I mean, yeah.
It is.
I am gonna say, I actually have like an L4 of
five, maybe an L4 six,
16 lovely.
Because there's no need to, just a waft about it.
Or even a three, two, two.
Does that include spec, as if you were
expecting it new, right?
Yeah, you could buy it new, but you can't modify it.
Okay, yeah, then that's fine,
I would agree.
And then my weekend car, to be fair,
what would you do to, well, you want an
exhaust on a V12 vintage?
I would.
Would you want an exhaust on
an event, a door?
Yes.
Okay, so it could be that?
Yes.
Okay, silly here.
A Veyron.
A Veyron's going,
I think he would not.
I'm actually pretty happy with a V8 vintage
just standard.
Huh?
No, they need learning sports cats,
all day they need sports cats.
Yeah, they do need that, but I'd be happy with it.
The standard, they sound okay though,
right?
Yeah, 'cause I don't like them
standard.
I'm not there for noise as much on that,
I am,
but that's what the V12 is for.
So I'd probably do that.
I don't understand it.
V12 would be better standard,
noise-wise, and everything.
But the V12 for me, that's what I want out of a car.
Whereas the V8, I want an experience.
I want a waft about all James Bond in it.
'Cause he's not putting a big exhaust on his
car, is he?
He's also on a V8, isn't he?
He's on VBS really, isn't he?
But still, he's going on, I would have a V8
Vantage, I'd wear a suit and I'd just putt the places.
What about a second-gen vanquish?
Actually, you wouldn't want to do anything to.
V12 though still, so it could be loud,
couldn't it?
But no, to be fair, I could do that too.
Okay.
Do that too.
What about Will?
No, I was going to say in this NGTI,
you couldn't.
Well, I don't know what this is.
What?
What?
Yeah.
They still sound, they sound,
they have a good noise.
I don't know what their noise is.
Are they, yeah, I could probably do that standard.
Very muted.
Yeah.
But you still get the stuff.
I do want them.
The Zest, realistically, the GTI you want is
an excessively mod, not exactly,
but like one of the big set of pipes on him.
A 4.25 kit.
It's exhaust, is the thing.
Every time I think of something,
I'm like, dude, with some exhaust.
Give me a car.
Give me a car.
I could also do a Carlton.
A Carlton.
A completely styled Carlton I could be happy with.
Do you think?
I would like to, I'd like to do.
Yeah, now we're, yeah, yeah.
We're holding that.
But then, what about, does the High Downforce
kit, which is a kit from McLaren,
but you have to go to them afterwards.
Does that count?
Because I'd say that's, I could get into like
insurance levels there.
What about this sticker?
I think insurance will say optional extras
can be mods.
Well, then it's, then it, yeah,
an F1 HDK.
That's the kit.
Sure, an F1, a road car, F1.
Perfect.
A Zonda.
Yeah.
Now Will's thinking.
A Zonda F.
Yeah.
What would you, what a moment to do to that.
1:26:30 Supercars and Modifying
Am I supposed to do?
I'm not supposed to do it.
Am I supposed to do it?
Well, my answer should be Merci Lago,
but I actually, a six, two, my answer was
gonna be an RP640 'cause they sound okay
standard and it's still a Merci Lago,
but six, two's don't, they don't sound good
standard, they sound horrible.
What about something like a C6 RS6,
C7 RS6?
'Cause realistically, I know there's cool
things to do, but you'd be perfectly happy driving that.
I'd be perfectly happy with that standard,
but I would still have an itching feeling.
A set of downpipes would go well on it.
Yeah.
(laughs)
And spacers and lowering it.
Yeah it would make--
Having an RS6 and not being able to have it
sat angry, like a Range Rover that you wouldn't care.
You don't care, yeah, yeah.
My answer for the daily thing would have been
Range Rover.
I'd say it was a radio.
I'd say it was a 3D2 or a 405 because there's
nothing you need to do to that.
Part of me was gonna say a Land Cruiser,
and like what they, I forget the generation,
it's bad, but the, like an Amazon,
a Land Cruiser Amazon V8, but then I'd want
something a little bit, some tires,
or I'd want something to make.
I think it looked a bit cooler,
so Range Rover could just go.
Go, here is your right, and a 405 means you
haven't got a mess about with like modifying
car player, whatever, it's just a modern car.
It's just car.
You can use every day.
And Zondos are good answers on the F.
Now, in theory, does that not,
those cars surely that explains that those
are the best cars?
Yeah.
If they don't need anything,
like anything at all, surely that makes them best car.
What's a non-supercar though?
'Cause that's when it gets really hard,
like CSL I think is not bad answer.
CSL's not, again it's, then you've got like
SMB, G and it's, ooh.
I could like a G80.
G80?
Really?
As what though?
As your weekend thing?
As a car.
Yeah, I'd be looking at that thinking all the specs.
I actually don't think I could go near a BMW
in that sense, which is why the CSL would be
off, 'cause I'd look at it and go,
would look great with those spaces on it.
Yeah, Alpina, Alpina V3s, 'cause they're
already a little bit lower, a little bit
wider, but again, there's probably always
some more to do to them.
Mark, two folks are asking, do that,
need pipes.
Mark, do you know what, a Mark IRS?
Again, I'd want to, but I could look at that
and, 'cause I, that is, still believe a Mark
IRS is my favorite hot hatch of all time.
Clearly.
I love Clio's, but a Mark IRS looks,
I never get tired of seeing them,
they're so cool.
I reckon I could deal with a standard clear.
A trophy, maybe?
Like a white or a trophy.
They make an okay noise standard,
it wouldn't be super loud, it'd be fine.
I think you'd be happy with that standard,
a clear V6, maybe.
200, 200's got my mates, 200 was completely standard.
200 with the Recaros, nothing,
nothing done on that car.
I think there's quite a few cars.
I still would struggle big time.
I would do mods, even if it was a crime.
Wow, all crime is illegal, just like normal.
There we go.
What a great place to wrap up,
I think that is 105, 106.
106, we made a mistake last time,
that's why we'll start the other one.
Thank you very much for listening,
thank you very much for supporting,
I have this guy in the middle of me to thank you with.
Sure, thank you very much for listening,
we'll be back next week, you'll see this in a
while, on the main TDC channel,

it to you first, the loyal creamers.
