0:00 Introduction and Rule or Ruin
A million creamers would wreak havoc on the world.
That might be one of the smartest things
you've ever said.
He
said it in a really shocked way.
Do you not feel like you
have an internal compass?
That word is funny to me when you're
so like the compass.
Okay, great.
We're as grown up as we
always have feet.
More things later on, but obviously I am
joined by Edwin to my right.
Hello.
Ben was a man over there, buying the camera
in a lovely t-shirt.
Thank you.
I like your jumper.
I think we've got some very lovely t-shirts.
Stop plugging the merch.
We'll get to that.
Now, it is 100, but despite that,
we still must find out what our rules and ruins are.
If you don't know, at the beginning of every
podcast, we ask ourselves if cars have ruled
or ruined our lives in the last week,
Edwin, would you like to kick us off?
I'm going to say it's been a rule.
The cars, I have a car working again.
I did some things.
I did some work and I have my Clio 172.
It was slightly singed, but I fixed all the
things that were broken on it.
I've been driving it again recently.
I love it.
I love that car with my heart soul.
I remember, I remember why I like it so much
and why it's not going anywhere.
For a brief moment, I thought,
what am I doing with this car?
And then I drove it again and went,
yeah, little baguette vase.
You need to stay here.
So I'm very happy because of that.
And I've got there are other things are foot,
other cars are foot, other mods are foot.
Everything's looking great for Millhouse right now.
So it's a short succinct rule for me.
OK, I like that.
I don't know anything from you,
fella.
For me, it will be a ruin today.
You stupid.
And it's one hundred.
It's ruined for a while, but it is ruined,
unfortunately.
And that's because the old golf,
it's so happy.
I've been mashing miles and that thing.
I've done almost 20K in that since the start
of the year.
That's so weird because we just did a video
where you said it was all good.
Yeah, well, it's unfortunate timing.
has nothing to do with any.
Well, I don't think so.
Let's see alignment has messed up.
What's the issue is?
I was driving back from Tesco's,
I think.
Round of me.
Is the story interesting?
Integral part of the story?
I would have got to it by now if you hadn't interrupted.
Like just a casual normal drive.
And I looked down and I was like,
my engine oil light is on.
I didn't pay, no codes came up.
It just came on.
And I was like, I mean, it is a VW.
So I've probably done quite well to get this
far off the badger.
And went on with it on.
I was like, great, I need this car to get to
work tomorrow.
So I went to--
How did your panic manifest out of interest?
Like, what did that look like?
To be fair, I wasn't actually that panicked.
I don't know why I said it.
But I was sort of concerned.
Did you, did you gasp?
I went, happened, did you go,
my star.
Yeah, there was a sort of sting went off in your head.
That's why you went, it went,
it's not a good thing when that happens.
And that car to be fair has been pretty,
pretty good since I've had it.
So I was worried.
I thought that was on day before yesterday.
I was, I'm here today.
I haven't been here since that makes no sense.
I'm here today.
Yes, this is a day in between that happening
and me coming here.
But the, the anxiety of me was like,
I can't just let this code sit here.
And he's not what's wrong with the car.
Cause I've got drugs at Reading on Friday.
So I went to Argos.
Brose always dropping in locations.
Just ferrying in locations.
It's like you want to be found.
Yeah.
I'm going to, I'm going to guess stuff that.
So I was in Tesco Swindon just off the a file
three I was in looking for beans.
Wasn't mine beans.
What were you buying in Tesco?
I bought some deodorant.
I bought some hair wax.
And I bought some rice.
I was just putting.
Something you may not know is that Ben is an
avid rice pudding lover.
Yep, I've also started buying different types
of jams and making my own flavor.
I bought an uncurd last week.
Lemon curd.
Lemon curd one of the best things I've ever.
In a rice pudding, not too much.
It gets too zesty and tart.
Much like yourself.
You sound like you're buying for a sort of
nuclear bucket.
Yeah, we've got, we've got an Anthony
Bourdain out there.
There's some condensed milk,
some rice pudding and some air,
and some tinned sausages.
So that's what I was bought.
Anyway, I was like, I'm a bit anxious about
it, I can't have this day in between where I don't know.
So I went to Argos, I bought myself the
cheapest code reader I can find.
You might be the biggest whopper on earth.
Why?
We have so many code readers here.
I had.
And great ones.
I know that I wasn't here, then I had to have
a day in between.
So my plan is to return it, 'cause I've just
used it once, just to see what was wrong with it.
But I bought that.
It's dreadful, it literally is,
it's like from the 90s.
But it told me a code, I looked up,
that code is for the auxiliary,
the coolant pump.
So at the front of the car, there is this
very small pump, and it's, I thought,
uh-oh, overheating times.
It's not, it's for like, it helps the cabin
get warm quicker, if you have a little bit of
it, so it helps have efficiency,
and that's not happy.
But apparently it overheated,
but apparently they're very sensitive,
and yeah.
So have you tried just clearing the code?
I cleared the code, it went away for a little
bit, and it's whenever I stop and park up
afterwards, it comes back on.
Oh, so you've got to go to a shop.
So you've got to check engine light again.
I cleared it, before I got here today,
it hasn't come since I got here.
Here's my question to you.
Yeah.
Are you going to try and get it fixed?
Yes.
Or, I was going to say, "Are you going to be
an actual Volkswagen owner?"
And just live with it, and go,
"That's a change, take the lights out."
So in light of the 2DC video where you guys
are bullying me for not doing this,
that's my car, that car is going--
You're bullying, pressuring.
Yeah, sure, whether you call it,
it's the same thing.
Sorry, encouraging.
That car is going to go to a specialist next week.
I'm going to have the suspension looked over
to make sure that--
The what?
The suspension.
The suspension.
I'm going to have to get the suspension
looked over to make sure that basically there
isn't anything wrong with any bushes or arms
or anything, and it maybe is just alignment,
and then if that's all good,
new tires for alignment.
Don't tell me about this, just recently.
I genuinely almost fainted.
Will said his exact words were,
"That might be one of the smartest things
you've ever said."
He said it in a really shocked way.
Crazy.
I was like, I'm going to get all this looked
at, I was like that.
I don't know what's happened.
Perhaps he's pulled some money out of his company.
I don't know where these extra funds have come from.
He's starting to believe.
So I'm having that done, I'm going to have
that pump looked at.
A car?
And then also the long crank issue.
I want to look at that.
And a car?
Yeah.
A crank, I think I've mentioned before,
it cranks randomly too long before starting,
have that looked at, and then oil burning.
I told him about the oil burning,
and he went, "I mean they do just do that."
I was like, okay, but just, I said,
"Can you check to make sure there's nothing ridiculous?"
Like, okay, that's obvious.
Nothing is a rye.
Yeah, so as long as that car lasts me,
I'm a big hundred, you're a ruin.
I'm a ruin, yeah.
That is such a shame.
I can't believe it.
But think of how far you've come.
Yeah.
And also think about the podcast.
(laughs)
It'll be a role today.
Surely, can we
tease?
'Cause it won't be out.
It won't be out.
For a
couple of weeks, I don't think,
usually.
Yeah, the one, at least a week.
It'll be a week and a half.
A week on Monday when you're listening to things.
The enix to this thing has been in action for
the last, well not in action,
actually.
Just been in action today, but been being
worked on for the last sort of week and a
half, two weeks, and we fitted an exhaust
today and my, my God.
My.
You, I promise you haven't heard any '92 M3
like this before.
It is.
You think, right now you're thinking I've
heard one on a track, or you haven't heard
one like this.
It is the most disgusting, dirty,
horrid, not horrid, that's not the one.
It is a dirty noise.
It is disgusting.
Yeah, it's criminal, is what it is.
It is, John, I think it is criminal.
Is it really too loud?
No, no.
With the valve shut, with a little induction
kit, that's perfect.
Stop giving it away then.
But with the valves open.
Stop giving away.
What valves are you talking about?
With the in big mode.
Good save, I like that.
It is obscene.
One of the first times in a little,
it's the first time since I'd say the
Gallardo exhaust, where I've actually been
stunned by something, where I was like,
"Wowsers, trousers, Batman."
And now the Mercy Library needs to get to
that level, which needs to start,
that would be close to a ruin,
but that's fine.
That's going to SPR next month.
We get to that in the line.
That's coming.
But yeah, I'd say for just for that,
the noise today, huge rule.
Big rule.
You'll recall a few weeks ago,
Ben was challenging me to get a daily.
We've got that video coming as well.
I'd actually say bullying.
Yeah, I would say so.
I think for me, I think you've been horrible
to me, encouraging.
So I have been on my hunt for a daily,
and of course this week's sponsor,
Car Vertical, it makes sense for the 100th,
because they've been with us
8:25 Merchandise Launch and Car Vertical Sponsorship
from the start, well, near enough to start,
shout out to Car Vertical for sponsoring Cream.
is using the code "cream" for 20% off your
next Car Vertical report.
We use them on anything that we're looking at.
I've been looking at dailies.
Ben's been banned from the Car Vertical accounts.
We can't see what I'm looking at.
True, yeah.
Will knows of some of the cars I've looked at.
Yeah, Ben.
Good luck, man.
I do really don't understand this video,
but let's continue.
But either way, if you're looking at buying a
Carvan or motorbike, make sure you're on a
Car Vertical check.
It might save you from something that is
either deliberately hidden or just accidentally hidden.
People don't know that they buy a car,
the history gets lost.
It may end up being a crash damage car or
have assessments.
So shout out to Car Vertical for sponsoring
us the whole way through.
Shout out, Creamers.
Can I ask a question?
Nope.
For this video, why is it that the man that's
not gonna be here knows about the car?
But I'm filming it.
He doesn't know about the car.
But how do I film if not know about the car?
I've heard about one car.
Okay.
Now, hold on, I couldn't say much.
But I actually didn't end up bidding on it.
No, but so the fact that there was a
consideration, there was a consideration.
Look.
It was like, yeah, but it could be for something.
Like it was almost considered as like,
it's not the daily, but it's for something
else for another car.
So like, then, you know, the sickness went deeper.
If you don't buy a Toyota or a 19 PD or
something sensible, I might have to.
You don't get to tell me how to live my life.
I try, though.
And it's difficult.
You don't have to know yet because then it
ruins the video of what sort of cars I'm looking at.
That's fair.
Once we actually start the video properly,
you'll know.
Okay.
It's a Koenigsegga camera.
That's the one here where you're lending me
some money, aren't you?
You might, maybe.
Just what he's in, just what he's in in pocket.
So, I'm looking at it all as much.
Whatever's done in the back of the sofa,
you can have.
So, it's episode 100.
That's the centennial.
Is that true?
Yes, sure, why not?
We thought we'd take a look back on a couple of things.
We thought we'd just go back through some old
stats because, shout out the creamers.
You guys, we started this with no intention
or no understanding of how big this would get
and how great of a cult you guys have become.
It's great.
We just set you out on pieces.
People and on things and you just go out
there and do it.
It is fantastic.
Again, I've said it before, I can't wait for
you to one day consume us and take us over
because we'll say something where the
creamers turn on us.
I'm willing to let it happen.
I'm not.
We'll look out to the crowd and they'll be
looking the way we're looking and then we'll
say something and then they'll all turn
around and look at us and then they'll be a swarm.
And that's it, we're done.
And then they'll be limbs flying everywhere.
But I'm fine with it.
My soul's cash going everywhere.
Ben would be on the floor and it'd be like,
do you?
Vice city, there's just like glowing money on the floor.
Sorry, we're off club.
Episode one, Ben, you were not involved in
this at all.
Somewhat, I spoke.
Well, I had no camera and I spoke a little
bit, but I wasn't meant to speak.
You weren't meant to speak.
You said to me beforehand, you said,
here's a microphone, if you have anything to add.
Yeah, don't.
Say something.
Feel free to keep with yourself.
It was very much, we're doing this.
In actual fact, we had two microphones and
Ben went out and bought himself microphone
and just inserted himself into it.
What about me, guys?
No, we borrowed all three.
I've got shit to your opinions to give you.
Also, that was the beginning,
this was all borrowed equipment.
We didn't have any of this equipment for
ourselves, but who spoke first on the first episode?
Ben?
Is it me?
It's Will.
You think it's Will?
Yes.
Sure, final answer.
Yeah.
It was Will.
I'm only cheating because it is behind us right now.
It is behind us on the TV right now.
It's the first thing.
So, the second episode, and what was the rule
of ruin on the first episode?
Oh, God.
Because Ben was not involved,
Ben did not get a rule of ruin.
What were we?
I can't remember what car I owned.
I think you were definitely one rule,
one ruin.
You two, okay.
Jesus, I don't know.
In fact, we were both through it.
Were you?
Which is, start as you mean to go on.
Yeah.
I think that's pretty perfect.
Episode two, Ben, your first appearance.
William said to me, "You know what?
If you're gonna speak, at least get a camera."
Yeah.
So, will we set another camera?
This is all Ben imaginable with.
I'll do this, I want to do this.
It's all about me.
That wasn't what happened at all actually,
I was quite resistant to it.
Episode four, the first instance of the screen.
The TV.
Which game was on the screen,
anyone?
It was a trailer, back when we were doing
just intro, like, trailers and things.
Any guesses on which game?
Grandma's Rizmo.
I have no idea.
Neither.
Underground two, surely.
So close, it was Underground one.
Balls.
Wow.
So very close.
Shh.
Number five, episode number five,
the beginning of all three of us,
rules and ruins.
Wow.
I was a rule, Will's a rule,
and Ben was a ruin.
Do you remember why?
I know what it is, I
knew exactly what it was.
Is it brown barge gearbox?
It was the brown barge sleeping.
Clutch E is gone.
Is that
as far away as that far goes now?
Yeah, that was the
brown barge Ben saying that he was driving at
home, and the clutch started slipping,
and then it would, and then it started
revving by itself.
It just, it did like a, almost like,
it slipped out of gear, like a manual,
just rev to the moon, and then I put it in
neutral, and it came up on the screen saying
a big red gear side that said gearbox fault,
go to dealer.
Oh God.
And I was just after we were at TRS,
and they'd be all looking at the,
these guys have been bullying them at the car
because it was brown and base model.
Hey, I wasn't but--
No, yes, you were, Will was but--
I like that car too.
I love that car too.
And I think Pisa wasn't just in recare.
Stinky brown barge.
And it was really smelly.
Yeah, I did.
And then a lot of the guys were like looking
at a guy, and you know what,
this actually, that engine in good condition,
like, yeah.
That was good.
Home gearbox gone.
Since HP added here.
After that episode six, we're not gonna go
through every episode, but just these are the
first 10 on have some interesting beginnings.
Episode number six, the first time we use the lights.
Now we know if you're a visual viewer,
you will know that we have brought back the
blue and pink lights that we had for a while
for this special episode, but episode six,
episode seven, me going to buy the C55 AMG.
That's rough.
You bought it then.
I had the head back half 93 episodes.
That's not good.
That's almost two years for the car.
And one of those years, it just hasn't been used.
I should really get that car fixed.
What cars did, what did you have at the beginning?
Well, number seven was also the introduction
of the soundboard and subsequently the end of
the soundboard.
Yeah, that was the end.
No more soundboard.
And also, then buying the X5 from you.
Wow.
So at the beginning of the podcast,
I would have had the X5.
The 350.
The 350.
Yeah, well, the Clio, the Clio,
there were Clio engine troubles later on.
Look how you changed over the end.
I only got a martial ago, a M3.
Well, that's...
Oh, chef, okay.
I don't know, that'll fall in front of me.
Thank you very much.
The next one, number eight, you weren't
there, but we called you and got a rule via foam.
It was on one of your many holidays.
Obviously, where were you that year?
What tropical island was it?
I think I was just editing.
Was that Bermuda?
'Cause that was back when I was still editing everything.
So I couldn't be in as much as much.
Sure, sure.
Okay, great.
Number nine, our first one away away from home.
Where was our first time we went away from home?
I know where this is.
I know where this is.
Say it at the same time with me.
Wait, no.
Yes.
Three, two, one.
Darkmore.
No, who was Darkmore?
Yeah, 'cause it was no shoes on.
It was no shoes.
We were in that cottage.
Which is also, incidentally,
I believe the first time I'm not wearing my
dirty vans, it takes like 12 episodes for me
to change shoes, which is never good.
I was just grabbing his hat.
He's been waiting since that episode,
like, ah, I was close once.
I see episodes ago.
I still have them, make me an offer.
No, okay, fine.
Episode 10, you weren't there,
so you didn't get a rule or a ruin.
You just weren't there at all.
Episode 11, the video of us doing the
forensics went out, which is the introduction
of Ben Kumsock.
Yep.
Still saved him.
Where I got stitched up by these guys.
Number 12 was Christmas Day.
Well, that went out on Christmas Day,
which was great, we love that.
We didn't do anything special,
did we?
I wanna, no.
Do we just release our podcast?
You're wearing Christmas jumpers,
we had the Zafir in the background,
with Tinsil hanging off.
Don't talk about the Zafir.
And a fire in the back, like a real fire
on-screen video views.
And then after that began many weeks of clear
182 engine bullshit.
That was why I've just got written it.
Oh yes, this was blue clear.
That was blue clear.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So, how was that then?
How was that then?
But that was, it feels like a genuine lifetime ago.
It was the whole podcast thing.
Even if you look at it visually,
I don't know how many of you watch it visually.
Actually watch it on YouTube or on Spotify,
but we've been going, we've had a look back
at like the original one here.
And it's mad, even like how the unit has
changed, how everything has changed,
then looks like a different human being.
Looking up here, there's no floor,
there's a few little bits and bobs up on the
top of what you call that, mementos.
The bottle of Josh, still very much there.
Don't be able to just pasta.
You shouldn't do that.
No, yeah, no parts, no Evo engine sitting on
the outside for many years.
A simple time for sure.
Yeah.
But it is, it is mad how much things have,
they're all the same really.
There's just sort of more of everything.
There's just more of it, there's just more and different.
TDC feels like, it feels like,
yes, they we started it, but also it feels
like most of my life has been TDC.
I can't think back further than that at this point.
I was gonna save this for the end.
Might as well do it now.
Forum question.
Most memorable moment from the first 100 cream episodes.
And I want this to be from the actual,
either from, well, let's start with just the episode.
So what you actually remember happening on an episode.
Goodness gracious.
I remember a few.
Grand Tour is, I know it's very recent,
but that felt a bit like a, holy shit,
like we're doing something with the podcast.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
We've had some great guests.
You know, I especially love the amount of people.
Yeah.
And who was there?
It was about who, it was who mattered.
We've done a lot of guests.
Yeah, we have.
Yeah, a lot of guests.
Yeah, we have done a lot of guests.
And we have, you know what, we have had a lot
of really good guests and we plan to get even
more, even more battery, I guess.
And also like we,
it's something I like that we do is that we
don't just go for like Grand Tour or the Lamborghini Sio.
Like I vividly remember how in much I enjoyed
doing the podcast with Tony.
Yeah.
From Tom Lenthel, like that was cool.
They're car people, if you're car people,
you're potentially on there.
So yeah, I like the guests.
For me, I vividly remember the first one that
we did with the Glaude.
When I was sitting here, I kept looking
behind and seeing Glaude and going,
this is crazy, man.
That was my next, that was my,
obviously partly because of the car,
but that was, that probably is the one that
in terms of that was like hit the hardest.
Yeah.
I was like, you know what, that's,
this is mad.
We're doing a podcast with the Lam.
Obviously the most Chicago is big,
but that was the first kind of like thing.
So yeah, that was the first one that felt a
bit emotional and what such.
Ben.
For me, it's either the first most lager,
well, I remember staring at that,
I couldn't stop looking at it.
But I think the one that I most remember,
I remember most of, it's probably the
Christmas special from last year,
which is tough because no one's seen that.
No one's seen that.
So good.
That's so good though.
But that happened in changing the gifts.
The door.
The door was a certain way to the door,
like I'm still visualized, Edwin walking with the door.
Yeah, that's good.
And then also the instant.
The incident?
Which one is the question?
The original incident?
The motorway.
The motorway.
Oh, fantastic.
Yeah.
Fantastic.
And reading the comments from that.
A fantastic series of podcasts in a row where
it developed.
Just amazing.
I don't know which number.
Doctors of Doc Block was big.
I don't know what episode it was,
but just that storyline, utterly fantastic.
It's just one of that and busing and edging.
It's busing and edging.
Anything where we've been in tears of
laughter, they're the best bit.
I also say the first Richard Porta song that
hearing it for the first time on the podcast
was very, very cool.
And the third one, when that happens.
When that happens.
Unfortunately, we don't have an exclusive to
reveal on this episode.
What I will, this is, you can maybe think,
but while I'll say it, the most memorable
moment for me of Cream outside of an actual
podcast was I think it was last It was last
year Bista, which kind of the first show that
we've done outside of a shed fest or something.
And the majority of people that came up that
day, say it didn't say anything about TDC,
they said Cream first.
And that felt mega, mega special that you
guys love it that much.
That your first thing is not about the
frankly decently sized YouTube channel that
we make our living from.
It's the stupid podcast that we do in an
evening, when everyone else has gone home to
their families, that thank you for listening
is the main thing.
The other way I'd say it is perhaps shell out
the creamers, shell out the creamers,
it's a classic.
It's Taylor's office.
And then look, we weren't clean on it.
And you pushed and you pushed.
Yeah.
And we've been forced to stick with it.
And where was the first time that was said?
That was in Bedford.
It's actually quite like Airbnb,
but on a train track in the middle of three train tracks.
Yeah.
That was how it's so quite nice.
For something we still can't show you,
but Evo still that was part of the Evo as well.
I was dropping it off, right?
Yeah.
That was Ice Boss.
Yeah.
But even the amount of people that sort of
met him outside of events as well,
just in public, where they come up and they
say they listen to the podcast or someone who
shouts that they're a creamer.
And I can't verify.
I mentioned that the man in Ford KA shouted
being a creamer at me.
And I just held my horn on it.
I don't know if I mentioned that on here.
There was a man in a red Ford KA and he
shouted I'm a creamer or something along
those, it was a creamer.
A creamer related to Jay Perick,
let's put it that way.
And my response to him was a thumbs up and
then I just held the horn down as if I was annoyed.
And I thought I actually quite liked that interaction.
That's a very TDC interaction.
That's good.
And then some of the odd fan interactions
that we've had where it's weird messing
around in public and then we get an email
saying, "Was that you?"
They're good ones.
Maybe the cash crime hour was a creamer.
I don't think so.
The guy who got me in a van,
down here.
That was good.
The guy who got me in a van and hit me with a
phone sign and the confused me and got us at
our own game.
That was good.
Little interactions like that.
And I just think they're small.
And you kind of forget it and then remember
it in a moment like this.
But it's a great community to have.
It genuinely is.
You guys, and we talked about it not even
that long ago that creamers,
meat and creamers is the thing that people
have bonded over that.
And I hope there are many friendships that
have started because of the stupid podcast.
And the more cream love.
But the people who work in not necessarily
high up places, but like interesting places.
We've been in Monterey Car Week and someone
was like, "I work at GMA, or I work at DK,
or I'm a submarine.
I'm a pilot, all these random jobs."
I'm like, "What are you, what are you guys doing?"
Listening to us busing and edging and
spinning out and blocking doctors and doing
all of this bullshit.
And they're doing actual jobs,
like real life jobs, sort of parents are
proud of and what such.
So we won't get too gushy, but thank you very
much for 100 episodes.
That's it.
That's the end.
There's no more.
Also, there's something we keep meaning to
ask is to actually subscribe.
Because we got, we transitioned,
some of you may or may not know this,
but we were on the 2DC channel,
which was the second channel for TDC.
We moved it to this sort of,
to its dedicated podcast channel.
And we need some of those numbers.
Yeah.
We need some of those selfish numbers that we
can look at.
But we have 35,000 subscribers now.
It's crazy.
For no other reason than just because we like it.
Yeah, it's just a nice number.
To have a nice little plaque for cream.
Dentists be like...
To have a nice plaque is not great,
if I want to.
But to have a nice 100k plaque eventually on
cream, that would be familiar,
or whatever it is, would be lovely.
A million.
A million creams.
Imagine a million creams.
You think there's currently nine hundred?
I actually do not think the world can handle
a million creams.
A million creams would wreak havoc on the world.
Do you know in like a late end game,
Fast and Furious movie, or like an early
2000s movie where they take over an army and
it's like they can overrun people and do
whatever they want?
That'll be us.
Us going.
Swarming.
Prime Minister.
You're going to want to listen to this,
or else we're setting
these people on London.
We have a private militia with Gold Aks.
But the next thing we want to say is that the
thing we probably get asked the most about,
also as a quick tangent, if this is your
first cream podcast, I would recommend going
to a different one first.
This is making it every week.
No, this is a bit of fan service.
The question that we probably get the most
every single week, hundreds and hundreds of
people, is when will there be cream merch?
And by Jove, have we done it?
It's only, it's a first small like little run.
We wanted to get it right.
That's why it's been so long.
But Benjamin, how about let's start with you
for the audio listeners?
What are you wearing?
My voice.
I would wear the camera.
Yeah.
For the audio listeners, I'm wearing a sort
of dark gray, maybe charcoal colored t-shirt
on it on the front of it is the new cream
logo.
A new cream logo.
With a sort of beach theme, a surfboard,
some palm trees.
What sort of beach?
I'd say a bit, well,
listen, I've been, so I'd say it's very much
like Barbados.
Oh, interesting.
A bit of a bit of a Bayesian.
Now, if you'd like to turn around,
I will describe.
Now, this was a design I made as a joke on a
weekend that I thought would be funny.
(laughing) If you could just stand up a
little bit, if you could just like stand up,
but like crouch down.
I need to look at what the camera can say.
Oh, my God.
Oh, look at that.
That's awful.
The back of it is a, you could,
oh my God, that is a horrible sight,
I'm sick.
It's called a bootleg, you call it a bootleg
wrap tee is what it is.
Okay.
And it says, instead of the name of the band,
it says, I am the event with a private jet
flying over on the left and various photos.
Those have been a sorted around the photo.
Definitely been.
They're all been.
For legal purposes, please remember they're all been.
They're all me.
Now, we will tell you about the shop,
the link, you can go and look at these
yourselves if you're an audio listener.
But Ben, I showed this to Ben kind of as a
joke and said, can we sell this?
And Ben, you said?
I just said, yeah, why not?
I kind of believe that if I see someone in
public wearing this, I'm going to be baffled
because all the other designs are actually
genuinely really cool and they're like in
jokes and they're like really well,
like really well designed.
of my face on the back of a t-shirt.
If I'm at an event, I see you in this.
I'm going to be just quite shocked.
Yeah, but I love it.
So all of these, all of the designs that
we're wearing today are like first proofs.
So there are some different changes,
but Ben's design will be much bigger on the back.
I'm wearing, I love this one.
This is my favorite.
It's a box logo on the front of the cream of
cream, but as the Hollywood sign.
Can we for the for visuals properly?
Should we throw up some photos?
We'll do that for sure.
There will be overlays.
I was going to say on our list of first overlays.
Never.
Just not happening.
Still waiting.
But so we have on the front a box logo of the
Hollywood sign, but it's cream.
But on the back, we thought as a shout out to
the creamers, we do some shout outs to the
biggest names in cream.
Behind you.
So behind me, we've got the credits for our
Hollywood movie, which is what cream is.
We've got the lead actor, Ben Rogers.
We have to do that.
We have to do that.
And then we've got support actor one and two
being William Chandler and Edward and
Klinkerberg, the director, Debbie Bingles.
There she is.
Shout out, Debbie Bingles.
Now she's got a lot of skin in the game.
Exactly.
The producer is Barry Bradmore.
We've got the editor and VFX.
Shout out to C.U.
Laser, which I have a very quick tangent.
He sent me a message the other day that said,
we read it out here.
I'm currently away at a conference in Canada.
And one of the head speakers just
complimented my Renault Clio watch.
I love your watch.
They were not British, so I'm confident it
was genuine and not a roast.
Best five pounds I've ever spent.
I said, I was probably said,
they had no idea.
They were a very nice middle-aged lady.
When I said it was a Renault Clio watch,
they said, oh, as if it was a fashion brand
she wasn't aware of.
I didn't know what else to say,
so I just, they said, thank you,
my wife hates it.
A few days later, he sent me the WAV file
from when she was miked up with her
complimenting the watch.
So we've got, should we have proof?
You're the first person to say that.
Really?
What's the book kind of watch?
I'm saying, a Renault Clio watch.
It's a long story.
Oh, interesting.
No, I like it.
No, it's a cool watch.
Did you see it?
Oh, it's cool.
I've never seen a watch like that.
Shout out to C.
Laser, AKA Mr.
Lava, who does all of our clips.
We have to immortalize him on a shirt as
well, because he's one of the creams of all time.
Yeah.
Oh gee, Law.
Then we've got Transport, Mr.
Fager.
Yeah, he's got to be in there somehow.
Funding from Teepa Fetus, no idea who he is.
We've got the costume designer,
brackets, no shoes, Deedamuro.
We might get a cease and desist,
unless he knows.
We've got Catering, The Thinking Man's Catering Company.
I wear a PPE from Barry, security from PC
Rogers, brackets trainee, and support the creams.
Hello, we've got Special Thanks to Bristol
City Council, the City of Monterey,
California, Barbados Nationov,
and then the music used in the production,
which is Lorees and Tractors at night by ADO88.
Fantastic soundtrack to go along with a fantastic movie.
So that, I think, is one of our favourite
shirts that we've done.
It's an all-star cast, it really is.
It really is.
And then we've got some general cream merch
just front and back.
Good, thank you very much.
We've got, sorry, I had to describe it.
We've got a T-shirts with little cream logos
on the breast of it.
hoodie, which I love.
It's a little meat and two hoodie cream on it.
But it's a very high-weight hoodie,
don't you say?
And it's sort of oversized, a bit street wear.
And it's got a little cream on the breast again.
And then on the back, it's got a big cream.
And that's clean.
I don't want to hear cream on the breast every day.
Thank you very much.
And then finally, this one's just a little
bit of fan service.
It's just a shirt that says on the back,
I am a creamer.
And then in very small font underneath it,
I listen to the Car's Rule Everything Around Me,
podcast.
Feel free to wear that at your own risk in public.
And just so you know, all of you who made
your own ones, they're all dead.
They've all been seen to.
If you listen to the podcast and you made
anything, don't open your door next time you
hear a knock.
They're not around no more.
And go and check out the website.
Because website, not only, obviously,
can you get this stuff, you'll be in the description.
The design of it.
I was a part of it.
You guys weren't really hard on the design of it.
Oh, the website itself.
Yeah.
Oh, it's cool.
The concept of it is really cool.
It's like the set and it's interactive.
So it's an idea that's been there for a long time.
So it came from it, Alfred Evian,
Evian, we worked out.
Who gave me the k-watch?
The beginning, you know, the puppet master of
inflating the watch market.
Yeah, he's the original.
So we worked with them at a car throttle and
also Martin as well.
Martin has been doing some of the website stuff.
So they've been involved for the last
probably last year, 18 months,
maybe slowly chipping away at this.
They also have their own jobs as well.
So we're all trying to get to this whenever
we can, really.
And it's kind of come to it now.
very, very cool.
I love it.
And that is Cars Rule Dot Shop.
Apologies for a long merch plug,
but we also just want to explain our thoughts
behind our absolutely mental designs.
But yeah, Cars Rule Dot Shop,
you can go into the link in the description.
Hopefully we're hoping it should be ready for
you to order now.
But at the very least, you can go and have a
look at the designs and it will be live in
the coming days.
Shout out the creamers.
I'm excited to see some merch at the next event.
Big tings ahead on that.
That was my voice.
That was a voiceover.
I'll see you on.
I have a slight tickle in my throat.
So we might do some normal podcast things in this.
So stick around if you do.
We don't know.
We don't know yet.
So stick around or don't.
It's really, it's really your two choices.
There's 99 other podcasts to go and listen to
if you haven't listened to others.
Actually, on that, there are more than 100
podcasts because we don't count or we started
to not count the guest ones.
We don't number them.
Because we wanted the bullshit of us three
needed to be the sort of, they were your
Thursday mornings.
They're your base.
We didn't want to replace it.
They, with a guest, even though the guests
are great, the guests are a slightly
different vibe often.
So the guests are always a separate one and
that's probably how it will remain for the
going for the future.
And then recently, we've had loads.
If you've been feeling creamed out recently,
don't worry.
It was slow.
It's just, we had a lot of cool guests recently.
Usually we'd put a guest on like a Tuesday.
We'd put the Grand Tour on on the Friday
because it was going out on the Friday and we
wanted to get it out to you guys and whatever else.
So normal service will resume,
but we hope to get more and more big guests.
I've got Charles Langdon.
Yeah, average size guests too.
Yeah, like small ones.
We've got rich and very small ones.
That's not true.
That's not true.
It's a good one though.
It doesn't matter what size the guest is really.
No, I do, I care.
As long as they're cream, then we're cool with it.
Like James May, who'd be a great one.
34:18 Guest Suggestions for Future Episodes
Gordon Murray.
And Gordon Ramsay, J.K.
Yep.
And Gordon Ramsay.
Ben, give me three guests you'd like to see,
brackets, you won't be there,
so it doesn't matter.
Yep, fair.
And they can't be like, like what we all
know, but you can't have Gordon Murray in there.
What, so I've got three obscure guests.
The three guests that you'd like personally
like to do a podcast with.
Okay.
I think so.
Like, Jamaica, we can't have that,
we know that.
Can you say it, we've done Rimek,
I've said that, I can't say that.
Listen, up to you, but maybe you want to mind.
I'd like Christian Mancone, Exegg.
Okay, big egg.
Where'd you laugh?
I'd like, maybe some American YouTubers,
we're quite cool.
It's fantastically precise this man here.
I don't know who, but some American YouTubers
would be quite cool.
I'd like America, the country off.
And I'd like, I'd like just a normal mechanic
on the podcast.
Okay.
Bit of a personality day, like a little bit of a.
Greg James, I would love Greg James.
Tom Hardy.
Tom Hardy.
Okay, nice.
Tom Hardy.
He likes cars.
Howdy.
These are all, we'd all love to get this.
We're trying to figure out how we get these guests.
You've got two, where's your third?
Oh, he's third.
I think I left the one.
I'd like to get Dame EdnaEvridge.
Is she dead?
Quick factoring from that, but anyway,
Rimac is well up there, but they're guests
we'd like to get, but we can't spoil you all.
We were endeavoring to get some really cool
people on the podcast, so you can get some
cool ass stories.
She passed away in April 23rd.
Oh shit.
Oh shit.
Balantino Balboni.
Okay.
Should have asked him in Monterey Ridge.
I think he'd have certainly baffled at the question.
I think he's got some cool stories though.
Yeah.
I don't, maybe, you know what?
I think he would be up for a little bit of banter.
Yeah.
He'd be, he'd be, he'd be banced with us.
We were mates.
So yeah, that would be a good one.
I'd like Blake Sandberg.
Oh, actually could have bled up.
Oh, that's a fair one.
Shout out Blake Sandberg.
Yeah.
I'd like Gordon Ramsay, because I just want
to put you and him next to each other.
I wouldn't be there though, would I?
And they're bolding.
They've never seen you two in a room together.
True.
And finally, I'd like the Sultan of Brunei himself.
Okay.
Okay, it would be a good one.
That's a terrible one.
That's a good one.
But that's it.
So those are the confirmed line up for next week's.
The President of the FIA.
Yes.
That's my last one.
Absolutely, yes.
It's evil.
He's big into cars and into car content.
There we go.
I think nothing is too far for a creamer.
For a creamer.
Shoot for the cream and end up somewhere.
Oh, don't do
that.
That's not great.
Shoot for cream and it would milk.
End up somewhere in the milk.
Yeah, okay, all right, fine.
But you have some stats.
So we're going to go for some numbers,
folks.
We are going to do the analytics from you.
Guys, we need to pump Q3.
Creamers aren't pulling your weight.
Those numbers don't matter because of that
man over there.
As I said, like these lights,
they might flick out if they begin to waver.
You know why.
Well, the TDC unit we're currently in.
I'm only going to go off of the cream.
I can't remember how
37:28 Podcast Analytics and Listener Statistics
many podcasts were on TDC, but this is just a
cream channel.
But in that last 100-ish, I'm not going to
include other podcasts.
I'm not going to include any others,
such as not saying any others,
because they don't matter.
How many views do you think we've had?
On this channel.
On this channel, I think-
It's quite a
cool number.
I think we've had, I think we've had 2
million, 5 million views.
Wow.
5.2 million.
That's because it's a V10.
It's a V10.
That's how I work out for that.
FSI, lovely.
Wow, that's cool.
Yeah, it might be cooked up vowels.
Okay, so countries as well, that's interesting.
So we are-
He hit that quite hard.
He hit that quite hard.
That was kind of great.
Because somebody kept these countries.
So we have the United Kingdom leading the way.
Yeah.
It was 65%.
Ooh.
I thought it might be more.
I thought it would be even more than that.
We have lots of, we have lots of abroad creamers.
Dutch.
I'm going to see Dutch.
You want Dutch?
So if we look at top-bed center,
it's the second biggest.
Our next one, Germany.
United States.
Is it American?
5.5% they have contributed to 286,000 of those views.
How about the American creamers?
And who do we think is in third place?
That's going to be Dutch.
Germany.
Are there a field?
Ooh.
South Africa.
I think right hand drive.
Japan.
Japan.
Am I wrong?
No, I'm not wrong, Australia.
Oh, cool.
We've got Australia and then Ireland.
That's 2%.
We've got lots of 2%.
We like to do, we still like to do an Ireland
trip at some point.
You guys have got very cool car culture.
Sure.
Irish and Dutch creamers are cool.
We have similar numbers of Irish and Dutch creamers.
Australia will be cool.
Fight it out in the comments.
Because there's so much car culture there
that is very different.
What's that there?
Australia.
Yeah.
Be really cool.
0.2% in Eastonia.
Eastonia?
Eastonia?
Eastonia.
Eastonia.
This place in Westonia, what else we got?
Brazil.
0.1%.
Brazil.
Come to Brazil.
From Brazil.
All the way at the bottom, we've got Ukraine,
1,300 views.
Also, Argentina.
Argentina?
Argentina is also 1,300 views.
We've got lots of little ones there,
where maybe they clicked on it by accident.
Yeah, I think they did.
They was running in the background.
They heard it and went, "No,
I don't."
I don't know, why are they busing and edging
and creaming?
These English people are very,
very odd.
But yeah, for the most part,
our top five, we've got UK, US,
Australia, Ireland, Netherlands,
and then in the sixth place,
we have Canada, Germany, and then South
Africa are on there, but they only make up a percent.
It's always actually cool that you manage to
stumble across this, this pokey little garage
somewhere near Reading and go,
"Yep, that one's for me."
I'll listen to that.
I've got another fact.
Okay.
How many of us have we done?
100.
I actually don't know how many it is.
109.
I think something like that.
I'm gonna say 107.
What about our audio people?
I bet audio is different.
What's our most viewed podcast?
Grand Tour.
It is the Grand Tour.
I don't think that counts though.
Okay.
Because of YouTube stat stuff.
You hate James, he hates James James James
James James James James James James.
No, I don't hate James James.
You hate like James James.
He specifically said, "If Francis is there,
I'm not going."
Yeah.
I didn't say any of this.
I just wasn't there.
What is that?
I know what it is.
What is it?
I think it's doctor.
Oh no, is it?
No.
Wow, it's so vain.
You believe it or not?
Other time that one was.
Everything's around you, is it?
No, it's not.
By the time I remember you saying that that
one did big numbers.
Our first podcast has 130.
Oh yeah, true.
Oh wow, cool.
It was on 2DC, but also Richard Porter.
Oh cool, that was very good.
So if we're talking like, once we're in the
actual line of things, Richard Porter was
coming up for 100,000 views and audio was
very, very popular as well.
Hell yeah.
Is that our most popular one?
Shout out Richard Porter.
Richard Porter, we have to get back on.
Should we extend that invitation once more to him?
Yeah.
Yeah.
So Richard, get back on here.
Run it again.
There's a seat here for you.
We'll keep it.
The holiday romance is over,
but we'd like to link up.
Ben will not be there.
I will be.
Would you be there for the next one?
I will be.
Pinkie promise.
You will not be there.
Where will you sit?
Okay.
Here?
Oh, yeah.
Will you all put Richard in my seat?
Right, producer, please.
You guys share.
I don't know where I was going with that.
Shall we go on to some actual podcast?
Yeah, let's talk about some actual things,
shall we?
I'd like to talk about Will's sense of direction.
Yeah, I saw his come in.
I knew it would be good.
I made a mistake of telling everyone a story
and he said, "Wait, tell that on the podcast."
He's fantastic.
Please just tell it like you told me.
Well, look, I don't really know where I'm
going at the best of times.
And I had navigation to help me and it still
messed me up.
So you wanted to go to dinner?
So I was going to dinner and I was separated
from my, I wasn't separated from my girlfriend.
I rang her and said that, "Let's have dinner,
go somewhere.
Let's go to this place."
And she was like, "Call your kitchen."
It was like, "Will's in the bedroom."
It's this place.
We're going to call it McDonald's.
It wasn't, but let's call it that.
What kind of thing was KFC?
It was Italian McDonald's.
What does that mean?
What does that mean?
Creamer works at this Italian McDonald's.
That's not called McDonald's.
I took him out in the Revuelto.
Oh.
His name's Lewis.
I think.
(laughs) But anyway, so she said,
"I'll meet you
there."
I was like, "Cool."
And I know I'll be there in X amount of time.
She put it in the sat-nav.
So I was actually using my girlfriend's
freaster at the time because we've recently
got her another car.
So I've been using that car 'cause I need to sell it.
And it's got Android Auto and all that stuff.
It's much better than the 159.
So I did a little voice-ting.
I said, "Yo."
at car, "Take me to this restaurant."
And it came up.
And it came up.
It said, "You're like 45 minutes away."
And the miles looked fine.
I was like, "It's so great.
It's so fantastic."
Now, I will preface this.
It was dark.
Oh, okay.
So I think that makes things much harder.
It was dark and it was lots of back roads.
But all the back roads seemed very familiar.
Also, it's not that far from my house.
So it should have been a familiar route.
And let's...
Yeah, you've been there many times.
I've been there many times.
Okay.
I remember the routes.
I have to be guided by a robot.
Anyway, I'm driving back roads.
I was like, "This is a slightly odd route,
but I recognize it.
I know I'm going in the right direction."
And then I started to get a bit more like,
"I don't really know where I am,
but I still trusted it.
So I still know where I'm going."
And I got to the destination and it was a
completely different place.
And then I called my girlfriend.
I said, "I don't know what's happened here."
And she's like, "Where are you?"
And I looked at a sign and it said,
"Rice-lip."
and then I put the actual place I was meant
to go in.
I was 45 minutes away again,
didn't know where I needed to be.
So I just drove for 45 minutes,
got to my destination and I was still 45
minutes away from my destination.
So your girlfriend was just sat there and she
was just sat there, she was like,
"Wait, wait, wait."
And I said, I actually called her before.
I said, "I'll be there in eight minutes."
And then eight minutes passed.
And then she would have got another call
saying, "Yeah, I'm 45 minutes away."
I mean, right slip.
How fast were you going?
I was shot it, sorry.
And genuinely, I just drove in disbelief.
I was like, "Am I that stupid?
I have to be a fool."
So I think if I
did, you would never let me live that.
A couple of tiny moments in the trip where I
thought, "I don't recognize this place."
It was your driveway.
But I still thought, nah, it must be like
taking me this man route.
If it's nearest to where you live,
then surely it's a somewhat similar direction.
I don't know if it signs.
No, it's same.
Much.
But do you not feel like you have an internal compass?
I don't know why you said that.
That word is funny to me, it's so like a compass.
Okay, great.
We're as grown up as we always have feet.
But yeah, no, I do.
But here's the problem.
I have to have done a journey,
perhaps 20, 30 times, to memorize it.
I can get home from here.
Well, that's good to know.
So I can get home from here,
no navigation required, not a problem at all.
But there has been a few points where we've
gone to go either to your house or something,
you've got to the gate and gone.
But I got left to the right half here.
Yeah, there are different routes.
But I have to do a route over and over again.
Like where I grew up, if I mean slough,
I know what's going on.
Because I've got like 10 years in the game and slough.
I know where everything is.
But as soon as I get to a new area,
my shop, I don't know where anything is.
You're an interesting little critter,
aren't you?
And I use Waze as an excuse,
I used to say it for police.
Yeah, I have no idea where I am.
I need you to tell me where I am.
And it let me down and it was all because of
voice control.
But I said to it, but I said to it,
this is the place I wanna go.
I wanna go to Italian McDonald's HQ.
This place.
And it said, cool, let's go rice slip bro.
But then it popped up and you went,
yep.
No, I promise you, it did not say rice slip.
It said the name of it.
And then it just said like X amount of miles
away this many minutes.
And I just put two and two together.
Seven.
Yeah.
But it has a map.
No.
Do you wanna show you on the map?
No, it does.
Does it show you on the map?
Well, I don't know where that is.
Surely you look at it and you go,
that's not the same part of the country.
Well, obviously no, I didn't see it.
I drove.
I
was just like angry I was.
Where is rice slip?
It's
like, it's completely the wrong direction to
where I needed to go.
Stupid.
There have been many instances of Will's lack
of direction, but that might be one of my
favorite ones because it has nothing to do with work.
That's London.
Yes.
That's in M25.
Yes.
So you went over the M25.
Yes.
You went down the M4, wrong direction,
over the M25.
I didn't go down the M4.
This is my problem, it was back roads.
It was, it was, I was through London.
When I saw Matt, he came out of the hedge and
it was a London bike.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
(laughing)
I was a cow walking past Big Ben,
he's like, what?
I feel like I know my local back roads and
there was a back road I drove down and I just
went, I've never been down there in my life.
And when that happened, you didn't think,
oh, I checked out and you thought,
ah, you know what?
I'll get to my destination first.
I was.
In the center of London.
I was tired and I was searching for a day,
a shin of beef pasta.
Wow, was that good?
That sounds great.
I didn't, I didn't get to it.
I never made it.
I never made it.
Nice shot.
(laughing)
You went home.
No, I had to go somewhere else.
Oh, where'd you go?
I can't remember now.
But so you met, I got lost again.
But I was so late because it was already
relatively late anyway and it turned out that
by the time I would have got there,
after my double time, it would have been like
15 minutes till it closed.
Your poor girlfriend sat there,
they're gonna think that she got stood up for
a date or something.
Yeah.
Said, "No, he was away."
No, he'll be here.
We're gonna have to shut.
He accidentally went to rice-lit.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
When I called her and told her,
like she wasn't even angry, it was just like,
"But this is normal."
(laughing) I'm used to this now.
So yeah, no, that was annoying.
So I think I should do the Cabi test.
I don't know what make me learn.
I've learned about London.
Nice, you doing the knowledge to be fantastic.
That would be amazing.
I consider myself an intelligent human being.
Okay.
Except for that.
That's my one downfall.
Okay.
Yeah.
You're an odd one, aren't you?
Yeah, I know.
What we got next?
Well.
What else have we got?
No, I'm
here.
Would you like to save it for the end?
Would you like to save the one to the week at the end?
I think that'd be a lovely way of ending the
podcast, Edwin.
I don't remember asking.
(laughing)
Like, Benjamin, you put in here Tesla,
Cyber Cab Breaks or sort of,
I don't remember.
Yes.
They're running now, right?
The Tesla Cyber Cab, as of last weekend.
What is that?
An autonomous taxi.
That's their new--
Autonomous taxi.
Well, allegedly, you will be able to buy them.
So your own car, basically you should get in
it, take you somewhere.
Which would be kind of cool of a concept.
I believe everyone would die.
Is it like a Waymo?
But Waymo, the better.
The podcast or the taxi?
Both, shout out Waymo.
The difference in this in a Waymo is a waymo
is usually like a Jaguar I-Pace,
right?
This is just, it's a custom built car by
them, but it has no steering wheel.
It just has a screen, that's it.
Can I still, if someone buys a cab,
a cyber cab, can I still take it?
If my neighbor has one, can I go get,
can I bagsy it in the morning and then go off to it?
Yes, you can lend it out.
That's what I mean, but like without them
knowing, there are a cyber cab.
I thought that's, not yet, but I thought that
was what their plan was.
But anyway, they're now, they're on the road
in the US, in Austin, Texas,
they have launched them last week.
They launched them and the, I don't know
what, Department of US, DOT.
The Department of Transport?
Yes, possibly.
Would make sense.
They went, yo, those cars you just launched,
I know they're technically legal,
but let's have a little look at the pay for
that, 'cause this feels not right,
'cause it has no way of you taking your
controls, nothing like that.
People will be taking them, and apparently
they work fine, but I don't trust that myself.
But the thing I want to talk about is that
the brakes, right?
The brakes have no brake lines.
They're not brake by wire.
They are fully electric actuators,
but the brakes, fully electric.
There is no, as far as I'm aware,
they're claiming that, oh, it's more,
more, it's a bare response, some of the sort
of thing, but that means that if electrical
issue happens, you're dead.
Imagine someone hacking your brakes.
Yeah.
You're just in traffic and suddenly no more
brakes for you, big cheese.
They're literally electrical actuators,
and there's no brake lines.
Because there's brake by wire on someone,
I think like the new M3s and M4s are brake by
wire, but I think it's still a hydraulic system.
like the pedal's not connected to anything.
It's just that there's no physical connection
if you like between brake pedal and what the
brakes do, but the brakes are,
I think they're still hydraulic.
There'll be far more clever people out there
that know this thing.
That means that if my computer crashes,
I die effectively.
And like there's nowhere, it's just electrics.
You look at the dash and you just see like a
circle going around.
And you're great, there's that wall coming through.
There's a red ring, you go, no,
no, no, no, no, going into the disk drive.
Oh, so it's just start lagging.
Stop braking, but it's just occasionally just
grabbing the brakes.
The thing that I don't understand is that
their justification was, well,
you haven't got to do brake fluid changes,
do you?
Well, I will die though, so--
Here's my question, 'cause what's the fail
say for that, but they can't be one?
You die.
Here's my question for you.
You fail.
What would you prefer in a cab?
A cyber cab where it drives reliably and
smoothly and it gets to your destination,
but there's a small chance it might crash and
die, but kind of the same like an aeroplane
where it's unlikely to happen,
but if it does happen, it's tough.
Yeah, it's bad.
Or your average Uber driver that treats the
throttle and brake like it's one of those
fairground bop-it things where they have to
whack it as hard as possible.
I would rather have a person,
'cause I still trust it possible.
Can we quickly mention what happened the way to Monterey?
You can.
Mm-hmm.
Me and Edwin got an Uber from,
I said, Edmund's house, not before Monterey.
We got an Uber from his house,
sir, Heathrow.
We had this, this, this dude in a,
ID7 or something, a new electric VW thing.
Brand new, I was gonna open a drink in the
back, and he told me, I cracked it,
and he went, no drinks in here.
But you know when you open a can,
and it's just, and it's like,
funny open, but not fully open.
So you can't, you can't store it anymore,
it will spill.
Yeah, so I had to hold it.
And he then proceeded to spend the next sort
of 40 minutes, just, almost,
it was a mixture of the fact he had regen
braking on, so he was hitting the accelerator
and lifting off, or constantly,
but it was just hitting the brake.
So the point where me and Edwin kept looking,
each other like, what is happening right now?
It was some of the worst driving I've felt in my life.
It was actually horrendous, like it was just,
also, at like four in the morning,
just being jawked around, like he would not
believe taxi driving was bad too.
(laughing)
Well, Ben had a hand for him for the drink.
The worst part was that I was holding this
can and everything did it.
I was holding this can.
He's doing a motion of holding a can.
Ain't nobody taking it from you bro.
I was holding this can and every time he did
that, it would just spell a little bit more
to end up with this top section of the can,
just full of liquid.
And it got to the point where it was going to
overflow, so I thought, right.
Not allowed to drink it.
I got to take a sip.
What drink was it?
It was a Red Bull.
It was a 4 A.M.
Red Bull percentage.
Well, 'cause we had a little on the tools,
try it away, naughty.
But I was like, all right, so I spell over
onto the car, so I have to drink it.
But then I thought, if he sees me drinking,
he's gonna have a garden.
It's gonna be very upset.
So I had to subtly just sip the top of it
until he's like three milliliters of Red Bull gone.
Anyway, what did you say Tim?
I said, wow, what a smoothish ride.
'Cause I was annoyed.
It was four in the morning, and I'm being
thrown down the car.
We paid good money for that Uber.
It was a pretty booking one.
But why is it that every taxi driver,
apart from taxi drivers in London,
it's always just the jerkiest thing.
I know they're not chauffeurs,
but surely there should be some level of
training to make sure that your customers or
whatever you call it, are like comfortable in
the car, that you're not getting yanked.
Imagine if a funeral service was like that.
Or you watch this, donuts.
So you're in a funeral on it,
everyone's sad in the car.
You can just see everyone's head going like that.
That's unfortunate.
'Cause everyone's, 'cause you keep slamming
on the brakes.
But also silly.
It's worse for your car.
You're going through brake pads and things quicker.
You rely on your car to do your service.
Surely you, as a driver who is also sitting
there, can feel that happening.
Surely you're like, this is uncomfortable to
be moving around like this.
I'm trying to be at work right now.
I'm just getting absolutely thrown around the cabin.
Maybe it's the only fun they get.
Maybe.
He's just messing with people.
He was, maybe we're just looking at each
other like, what is going on.
But I was still able to have him in a robot.
Okay, interesting.
At this stage, I haven't, I haven't.
I think I'll take a robot, I'm honest.
I prefer it as a human to keep jobs so that
people actually can work, but fix up or I'm
going to that robot cabin.
Okay, but you can't be in London,
that is, they don't tend to drive like that.
No, yeah.
You get angry.
Oh yeah.
But that's part of the fun.
You got a genuinely, it's part of the experience.
But because you're in a city,
there's less opportunity for that braking,
but like anything that's outside of like
London where you've got the,
there's motorways and whatever.
The amount of times I've been in a cab like
that and I start middle lane hogging and I'm like.
He was doing, he was just sad.
He was like, please, please,
please.
And they get, they're bibbed at by someone
and it's like, I'm CCTV now,
I'm seeing what I'm getting angry at,
but from inside the car I'm angry with,
I'm like, this is what it's like.
'Cause sometimes you see it and the cabter,
it doesn't even respond.
The guy sat in a little lane,
drifting into a lane and someone bibbed at
him and he's like, this guy,
he was sitting in the middle lane and someone
undertook him and then did flash their
hazards at him.
And I watched him look up at around us if he
was like, what happened there?
I don't know what's, what's going on there?
What an absolutely yob.
Ridiculous.
What have we got next?
There's a video I have discovered.
I'm pretty sure I've seen every single
Mashlogger video on the internet.
Sometimes my dad will send me videos and I'm
like, I've seen it.
Don't you do not need to worry.
If it's Mashlogger,
I have seen it.
Then recently a, someone I've spoken to
recently who also has Mashlogger,
a chap named Ollie, who's a lovely green one,
sent me the video of the original
56:46 Lamborghini Murcielago Reveal Video
reveal.
So the car was revealed at the factory at
Santa Garter and it's very different to how
cars are revealed today.
And actually, as it goes further on,
it's quite funny.
It becomes like a sort of, like a sort of
sixth form talent show type thing.
So if you, so there's the, if you skip a bit
forward, you'll see it on the stage.
So there's tables, it feels like a work do or something.
Okay.
And there's a band playing, but then if you keep going.
Man in a line shirt, he introduces him.
And there we are.
And he got the car will eventually drive onto the stage.
Hold on, hold on.
In Ithaca.
Ithaca, great color.
So here we are.
He's the band's playing.
The band is playing in the background.
It looks like a wedding.
Yeah.
I'll be honest, is what this looks like.
And here we are.
The car comes onto the stage.
Kind of dramatic, but also sort of amateurish
in nature as well, cars there.
But if we can just skip a bit further forward
until we get to the real party,
the band is now going.
There's lights going on.
What is going on?
I've never seen this video.
It's great because I think it's 2001,
I want to say this video.
But like Lamborghini was still fairly big.
Obviously, it was like the beginning of Audi
really sort of getting into it there,
but compared to like the Revuelto being
revealed at the SV, sorry, being revealed at
the Quail and like how big and grand that was
in all the videos.
And this is like in the corner of the
factory, there is a there is a there is a
smoke machine going off in the back.
Well, lights gently strode.
They chose a year six discos.
Everyone's got sort of clipos and J2S on it.
But I found it was kind of endearing.
I was like, you know, I like I like it when
car companies are at that kind of level.
Yeah.
Whereas like this is, it's not as,
it's not as big and grand as doing a proper
reveal, but I like that.
My favorite, one of my favorite videos on the
internet we've talked about it before is was
at the launch of the Zonda.
And what they did to launch the Zonda was get
a load of clients over.
This was the F.
Yeah.
To stand in the middle of the road and
someone would belt down a commercial like a
back road lined with cars on each side,
just hurtling down back and forth doing pulls.
Hey, that would have worked on me.
I would have said that gone.
Right.
So when can I get mine then?
When's that coming up?
Because if you hear it, you'd be like,
if you've got the money to buy it,
you could, I have to spend that money.
Yeah.
Now I've heard that.
We spoke about it a few times when,
when we were at the auction and like a car
would, obviously at those auctions,
they drive a car onto the stage.
Unlike when I got the money,
I'd go, there's nothing like that.
It's just a picture on the screen.
But if the car was to drive on,
then you hear it.
Yeah.
That would sell me a million times over.
Like if the, if the car was to drive on,
then you hear it.
Yeah.
That would sell me a million times over.
Like if the,
if the car was to drive on, then you hear it.
Yeah.
It's mostly like a drove onto the stage and
started revving.
I'm like, I probably would have lost.
Yeah.
The other people would have gone by that.
That sounds incredible.
So yeah, sometimes the theater of things
seems to have been lost a little bit.
Yeah.
I think I think that feels, and it's not,
not really a marketing type thing,
but it's sort of being a little bit more
amateur is sometimes a bit better with that
kind of stuff.
But yeah, I've never seen that video.
Never even seen a clip from it because it
came about because it's 25 years since the
martial arts revealed on the eighth of September.
September 2001.
Three days ago.
Yeah, crazy.
If you want to watch that video,
it's Bhagani's on the F passing by at factory
is one of the, one of the videos there's lots.
I think Harry Menkoff was there.
Yeah, I think that was.
Yeah, very cool.
On the podcast.
Harry Menkoff was really good.
Not sure he would deal with the bullshit.
No, that would be a more professional one.
But we'll see.
We'll see if we can get him.
He'd be a very, very good one.
Ben, you've got another thing on here.
Torbjorn rear-ended bipolar.
Yeah, if you go into the Slack channel and
you look at the replies that I just put a
link into the video.
A prototype Bugatti Torbjorn was rear-ended
by a polo.
Okay, here we go.
A link.
Okay, that's not, that's not so nice.
That's a real tough one.
So for audio listeners, can you explain?
So it's Bugatti Torbjorn going through like a
mountain pass type thing and it just comes to
a sort of relatively slow stop and then just
a polo, just absolutely careed.
I imagine the call to your interior.
Yeah.
Because
1:00:56 Bugatti Torbjorn Rear-Ended by Polo
also that's not, that's a prototype car.
That's not a car.
It's probably like, it's probably insured with Bugatti.
Yeah.
How going?
I don't know what I've hit.
I'll be honest.
They're insurance going, right,
you hit a Bugatti.
If that's really bad news, then go to the
next drop down and model and going,
Torbjorn, we do not have that one.
That's not out yet.
That is an on this list.
So what the hell have you just hit?
You've managed to crash something before it's
available to crash.
Yeah.
Like not, it's not available around.
Tough day for whoever that is.
It's a curricula.
Some great crash testing, though.
Yeah.
Just submit that and go, look,
we've already done a rear end.
How will that hit me?
This is fine.
Oh, is it?
What's happening with that car?
That's one.
Yeah.
That's my home from right now.
Come on, then.
Let's get that good.
Another spaghetti for the collection.
Will, you've got on here, Wu Tang Wheels.
Wu Tang Wheels.
Now, this feels perfect for the podcast.
Close to us.
Now, Cream.
Yeah.
It's there.
It's in the name, obviously.
Well, I don't know how this will work with
copyright, but, you know, it means cars are
all everything around me.
That's what it means.
But there are alternatives out there.
Yeah.
Of course.
If you're into your sort of hip hop,
rap stuff.
But it turns out that Wu Tang Clan had their
own wheels at some point.
So here it is.
Ben, I don't know if you understand the
reason for this.
That's the logo for the-- I know my logo.
Okay.
So their wheels built in the kind of shape of
the Wu Tang Clan logo.
But I was doing-- you put this in.
It reminded me of it.
And I remember seeing a few different ones
back in the day.
Some of them were like six lugs.
They have truck fitment for American cars.
But then I happened to see a photo.
Now this is just a general photo.
But Ben, what car is that?
That's an E53X5 in white.
Right.
Now that's firstly kind of cool.
It said that it's an X5 with Wu Tang wheels.
But what does that mean?
That means there are Wu Tang wheels out there
in 5x120 fitment.
Wow.
Wow.
Which means-- You could fit 20 inches.
Yeah, I'm going to say they're 20 or 20 ones,
which is a bit too big for any 36 or something.
But you could put that on an F80.
Could make that work.
Run a set of Wu Tangs.
Running Wu Tangs?
What would your Wu Tangs be shodding,
though?
Ling Long.
Wu Tangs shodding Ling Longs is--
I know that.
It's just like rolls off the tongue.
Yeah, I'm promising as well.
But you know what?
If a set of a car up sale, if you see a set
for sale, do last no.
Yeah, do that.
I mean, I don't know how many of this is
going to be out.
I don't think there'll be many.
I think there's probably a few prototypes at least four.
But also, I think as the cream podcast,
we do-- We need one.
No, we need it.
One for the background.
Even like a damaged one, a damaged,
a curbed one, one that's been repainted will
take any level of Wu-Tang Wheel possible.
There is, so the reason I think it's come up
to light is that there is a prototype one for sale.
It's on an auction right now.
And as of right now at the recording of this
podcast, there's 12 days left.
The reserve price hasn't been met,
so we could get in early.
Current bid, it's $52,000.
$52,000.
is fine.
We should up the merch prices.
They are a 20 inch hour wheel.
Wait, this is the X5 one.
I've only just seen that.
There is one.
So it's always going to set up a 50
grand thing going, I've got three more of these.
That's a 200 grand set of wheels.
That is crazy.
So that is there is 11 signatures.
Ray Korn is a Ghostface killer,
Method Man, Inspector Deck, U-Godd,
Master Killer, Cappadonna, Mathematics,
Divine Digs and Steve Ruffkind.
That's cool.
That's the whole gang on there.
They've got a lot of paper salanto,
though.
A company by a one of one promotional poster
of Ray Korn and U-Godd with the X5 never distributed.
Cream, you know what?
Cream's not doing that well yet.
No, no, we're not there.
Couple of years down the line,
we spitched some pennies.
Maybe one day, we can get one.
If you all buy 10 shirts, 10 hoodies,
10, whatever, we've got for sales.
Just a small ask, guys.
But that's very cool.
So maybe one day, one day, we get
Wutangwheels on something.
and then we get Ben's old X5 back and put it on there.
We know where that is.
We do know where that is.
We've got X.
Next up, I've put this in.
And as a free warning, I haven't done much
research until I've been.
I know some things.
Oh, I know this.
This is V12 Vantage RS.
No, it was Salon Prevey, really,
honestly.
I think there might have been two Salon Prevey.
I don't know anything.
I don't know.
We didn't get
invited.
We didn't get invited these things.
This is a V12 Vantage RS there.
Now, it all looked very
official.
Now, from what I have briefly memorized from
the description is that it was a kind of
one-of-one prototype thing or like sort of
developed for a client or whatever.
But it has the proper plaque on it.
It says V12 Vantage RS,
but it has a DBR9.
So it sounds unbelievable.
Yeah, it sounds ridiculous.
And it like the body, it looks roughly like a
V12 Vantage just with a few little changes.
I thought, why have I never made that?
So I guess it would compete,
maybe it competes too close to what would
have been then what the DBS or vanquish,
whatever it would have been.
But what cool last thing?
So I did a quickly pulled up an article,
there is an article on it.
V12 lifted straight from the DBRS9 GT racing
car, which is very similar to the one in the
Le Mans winning DBR9.
Pretty much unchanged.
changed, meaning it runs about 600
horsepower, and it's going through a DBS six
speed manual gearbox.
Wow.
Wow.
So six speed manual, around about 1500 kilos,
and it's only 30 kilos heavier than the 4.3 road car.
Yeah.
So not how much heavier.
So it's got really cool seats,
and it's a wild and taro.
20 inch wheels.
So I think it's got big, big brakes in it,
and that's what stuff as well.
But that, that's very cool.
It says also on here.
Ritiser 305's on it.
So that's some big, that's some chunky ones.
I love it when cars like that come on.
out of the woodwork.
Cars that, I mean, I get, there's probably
people who know about it on the internet or
whatever, but when a car like that just comes
out of nowhere.
And I'm like, I've never seen that before.
Yeah.
I'm like that.
This is a new, it's an old car,
but it's a new car to me.
There's this new information I can store in
my brain and tell people about.
That was very cool.
There was lots of really cool things that
sound pretty great to be fair,
but again, we were not there.
No, sorry.
I was just reading it said, it sounds the
noise, the only noise I can compare it to is
a 5.99 or an LP640 Merci Lago.
I think there was a possibility in this video
there was a there was a small one.
Hopefully there's not music.
Let me play it.
It didn't sound that good in the clip I heard.
It sounded a bit muffled.
Kind of the end of that.
Very good induction noise.
Yeah, I'd be it has like some sort of like
carbon intakes and stuff.
That is exceptionally cool.
I like that a lot.
Do you remember we used to play a game that
we used to see what cars we spotted that week?
What are the best spots a week?
Now it didn't really work because you'd have
to know beforehand, but I win this week.
A car that I never expected to see ever.
I was just in five guys.
No, this was, what car was that?
We were sat in five guys.
No, this is a different car.
I'm sorry, I don't know.
I've been waiting.
I thought it was that.
That was the Mercedes thing.
What?
What's the one that all the year had?
A W124?
Yeah.
What?
All the year had one, right?
Brother, that doesn't, that pales in
comparison to what I'm going to show you.
We saw one and you said, Oh,
look at that.
And in that mad spot that you put in the.
No, I put two together again and got eight.
No.
Wow.
This I was in.
I
was sitting at a red light and what came in
front of me.
But that.
That is a BMW M1.
Just driving on the road.
I don't
remember seeing what I've ever seen.
I mean, this is a very, I've cherished this
moment forever.
Ben and I, when we were working at Car
Throttle, we did a BMW show,
I think I might have mentioned it before,
where they brought, it wasn't even for Car
Throttle, I think it was Evo,
it was Auto Express.
Auto Express.
And we came down because there was social
content to do.
And they basically brought every single BMW,
cool BMW M car from the last 50 or 60 year on
how many, however many years,
and put it on a track.
And at the end of the day, the journalist was
like, I can't really be bothered to move them.
move the cars back off the track.
And I said, yeah, no, I can do that.
No, I said, give me those keys now.
And I got to drive every, I got to drive an
M1, I got to drive an E46 M3.
So not particularly hard, but I did get to
move it around mobile.
I'll remember that forever.
But seeing that in the moment,
I was gobsmacked, I was mid conversation with
my girlfriend, I just went silent and pulled
my phone out.
She's like, what is that?
What's that weird wedge look like?
Oh, white one.
It just so cool.
who don't understand that that is a BMW.
I'm not some, like, wild Italian thing or a
spree or something.
What a crazy thing.
It's just driving on the road,
just normally.
But just crazy, crazy mad spot to see this week.
I mix with a BYD.
Don't talk about that.
They're not paying us.
There he is.
Ben in the second episode.
But the first time ever, on the screen.
Look at the state of that guy there.
Tell you listeners, could you describe him?
Imagine me a bit more red in the face,
a bit of fatter, worse haircut,
arguably.
Time's been kind to you.
Well, it's intentional, but yeah.
Ben, talk to me about a Lamborghini police car,
too.
The sequel.
There is a famous Lamborghini Huracan police
car, which we've mentioned on the podcast.
Actually, it's for the Italian police.
Hey, isn't that then three?
'Cause there was a Galada, wasn't there?
There was a Galada, yeah.
So how dare you?
I don't know anything.
The...
Here we go.
It's happening, folks.
We're getting close to it.
The one that we mentioned on the podcast was
the Huracan One.
It's an LP 610.
It's original Huracan.
Super high mileage.
200,000 kilometres allegedly.
And now, the Huracan is dead.
And we're now on Temerario seasons.
And Lamborghini have just announced there is.
There's our boy on the left there.
There we go.
Oh, Steph.
Yeah, Steve.
Steph, Steph, Steph, Steph, Steph.
Guys, oh, I'm sorry, I got to go.
I got to go see some guys in the factory
about police car.
Got to go see the pigs on that.
Go see the cream podcast.
Feds are outside.
Shit.
That's the Lamborghini factory.
And they've now got a Temerario one in the
same livery, which is pretty cool.
I'd love to see all three together.
Yeah, that'd be really cool.
The other one's cool.
It's a facelift.
It's a facelift.
Sorry.
I want to say there are more then because I
think there might be a facelift and a pre facelift.
Oh, because the facelift is the one I know is
the one I can see.
The one I picked on my head is a five liter.
Oh, is it?
The I can find, yes, you're correct.
There is both a five liter and a five point two.
I believe there was also, well,
there was definitely UK police livery.
Yes.
L.P.
640, which had Yevil on it, YV1L,
and there was also the Glardo,
yeah.
Which possibly had the Yevil on it,
I can't remember, but L.J.O.
for Mum.
But they are-- Well, that looks weird,
with the back of us.
Yeah, that's similar to yours.
This one is my plate.
You're an ex.
I know it's G.K.O.4.
But, yeah, these were never used.
They were kind of like a promotional thing.
They were like a HRO and car and they'd
livery it up.
But there was an LP640 and the Glardo and--
Where is the Italian ones?
The Italian ones are.
The Italian ones, as we found out,
as you guys kindly, organs used for organ transplants.
Crazy.
Just cool, just fire up it.
You know what, it's a scenario.
There's gonna be no organ left.
It's a mince.
Flattered against it.
900 horsepower, just flying down the motorway.
What have we got to actually end on something?
We've got a once of the week prompted by our
little boy Benjamin.
Hello.
We have our cream chat where we can see what
we're each kind of putting in for the week.
And I saw it come in, that was on,
hold on.
That was on Saturday and I saw it being up on
my phone
1:13:03 Ben's Desire for a Honda Acty Truck
three in the afternoon and I just looked down
and I went, here he is.
What's he thinking about?
What's he looking at?
Right.
Now, this is a car I've wanted for actually
quite a while and it came back to me in a big way.
But like a week, you say, I'd say for multiple years.
Well, well, well, it was just funny.
Can you give us a vibe and we guess it?
We get one guess.
You don't know what it is though.
Okay, great.
I'll preface it.
I watched the Grand Tour.
Let me guess it in my mind.
I watched the Grand Tour, the new Grand Tour.
I watched most of it on Saturday and I got to
the episode in America in Colorado with the K cars.
K cars are cool.
Like the AZ one is cool.
I like Edwin, your beat, that sort of thing.
But there's something about a little Honda
Acti truck, which I just love.
I bet there'll be quite a few creamers
listening who have them.
Really?
Because I would love one.
The issue I have is I have no idea to keep it
and absolutely no use for it.
Yeah, you have no use for it.
Like no use for it.
Edwin started very kindly looking for them
for me this week when I mentioned it and I
was like, oh, I worked out.
I could probably buy one.
I could probably get one from Japan for not
having much money and I realized I don't know
where I do it.
But that's a little taster of what we are.
That's how we know that we've been rubbing
off on you and also, you know,
influencing you.
Because usually you're a functional over four
man, you are going for, look,
if I don't need the car, I don't want the car.
Yeah, exactly.
It's not for me.
And I've got a rule where I only ever have two.
But you would literally admit it.
You were like, I don't need this,
but I want it.
That's what we have every day for every car ever.
I wouldn't be able to do that.
That's tough.
But all of them.
But I've been thinking a week,
like, I'm trying to justify myself,
like, what can I use it for?
And I concluded that there's nothing.
No, there's nothing.
I thought maybe if I move house at some
point, I could strap a sofa to it,
maybe.
Now Ben, do you know the fact that they made an "Acty"?
What does it call, it's called an "Acty Road"
or an "Acty Street" where it's a minivan.
Yeah.
You don't like that.
The truck is so funny.
It's, I don't, they're relatable.
I find oddly shaped, but charming things quite
funny.
That's what you are.
That's what, no, that's why you're friends with that.
Yeah.
You're not charming.
That's cool.
But, so for example...
What was stupid looking joke?
That is, I've put up a photo of the minivan version.
For example, Edwin, what is the dog that I want?
I want a corgi, you want a corgi?
Corgi's to me are the funniest things.
I love a corgi.
I love a corgi in the back of your act.
I would love to do that.
And I like a corgi because it's the same vibe.
It's just odd, but like in a really endearing way.
Odds, but cool.
Yeah.
And long, which is my main thing with a
corgi, but look at that.
That's people listening, don't know what I'm looking at.
That's a Honda Acti, but they're just so charming.
You look Ben.
I see.
I think we could make it happen.
I think we could get, we could import one.
They are so, so many going for Sochi.
I'd love one.
You could have it as your sort of local,
your unit vehicle.
I did think, I thought you could leave it
here or leave it in the car park or a storage
or whatever and then you just pick it up.
The issue is that I can't, like with the Clio.
We can go to London.
I've been keeping, I've been keeping the Clio
here 'cause we're doing some sort of work for it.
And the Clio, I will drive here in the golf
and then I'll go, all right,
it's a Friday night, I'm gonna bring the Clio
over the weekend.
Friday night, get the idea.
But that means I have, that was up to the acting.
I've got a very small plate.
75 miles home on the M4, just sat at like a
55 mile an hour.
I will say it's someone who used to commute
in the beat about an hour on the motor every day.
You don't like it, it's not nice.
You just sit there going, ah.
But imagine if you said, oh,
can you run down to GSF and get these parts?
Oh yeah, acting.
But at the same time, anything we buy from
GSF could go in the passenger floor well.
Yeah, but that's not the point is that you
could use it, couldn't you?
It's just so cool.
I guess so excited to think about it,
so I might have to.
I think we need to do a TDC where Ben drives
one for a day.
And build a build.
Perhaps we should make you live with one for a week.
No, I'll do that.
I will legit do that.
You have to commute with it.
Yeah, fine.
Okay, fine.
I'll do it for a week.
If I actually get to use one for a week,
I will commute it.
Okay, you're doing 60 Macs.
Do they sell new ones?
They're on you.
They're on you.
They're on you.
I found this in 2016.
2017 one?
That's not really new.
But the interior was like, it was still very
basic, but it was...
But you can get a brand like a 20/20 side.
No, I don't even get any 20/20.
Okay, but there are more modern ones.
What do you want?
Is there a difference?
You want a 90s one.
I want the one that was like on the round
tour with you.
Yeah, that face, but I mean,
listen, it's just funny.
Also, if you hit the brakes hard enough,
they almost don't end though,
because there's no weight over the rear.
Yeah, that's funny.
If you upgrade the front brakes,
you can do full end though.
That's great.
You've got cool wheels on it.
Yeah, you can.
And it's full drive.
You can have, I feel like they might all be
full drive, but I think maybe there are some on there.
Also, I want it in the winter.
Imagine like a crispy, frosty morning,
you're in the active.
Just full drive.
Just full drive.
Crispy morning.
That's frosty morning as well.
Yeah, watch out for that.
I'm acting by then.
But it would just be a beautiful,
crisp English morning, shattered by...
Yeah, I love it.
It's so cool.
What's the, what's the holy truck?
Why is that?
Is that a similar little?
That is, but it is, I think that might even
be an actie.
But it's one of the facelift,
more flat nose ones, right?
Potentially.
But I said flat nose.
Are we talking about trucks again?
I said flat nose like, the other actie hasn't
got a complete.
I mean, the one--
I think it's a pizza bill.
It's more square, it's less curvaceous.
'Cause that was like sitting in that,
for me.
It was, it's one of those.
It's small.
Yeah.
Yeah, but it's cool.
And the engine's under your ass.
Yeah.
Yeah, okay.
But it's so funny.
Look, have you seen it?
It's so charming.
I wanna see it if your, if your,
if these are some stays after it.
Oh, I was seeing you drive at one for a week.
So what's the rule?
I'm predicting two days in, on the second
day, but the first drive in,
you have to--
But you have to, and you wanna change it.
You have to vlog your commute.
Okay, so any form of transport--
From your house.
So I go, okay, so in the evening,
I go to Tesco's--
To be your address.
Go Tesco's by some dinner.
You have to drive it.
Oh, no, I'm up for that.
Okay, fine.
That's why I don't know.
Now we just need to find an owner who will
let us use it for a week with unlimited miles.
Oh yeah, bearing mind that, that's gonna be--
Realistically seven to 800 miles.
Ben, we might have--
We're in Bristol just for a night.
Just like where I live.
Okay, yeah, yeah.
I'll get your house.
And the address, let me pull this address up.
My address is--
Will you owe shoes in that car?
In my house, I don't, in my car.
In the car, I do.
Well--
Okay, fantastic.
Hopefully someone's gone active for you.
Oh, I'd love an activity.
Will, what's your one with the week?
What's my one with the week?
Shit.
How about I'll go then.
How about you go then?
I've been talking, ever since I moved,
we got E55 working in, I so desperately
wanted E55 of my own.
And you know what, that's how you know it's
bad, that car torturous.
Yeah.
Like horrible to work on, lots of potential
issues, electrical gromlins,
all that sort of stuff.
Man, I just want my own, I love it so much.
'Cause there's been a few, a few around,
that quite cool.
It is, but I wanna hold off,
I'm holding off until young Ben,
we do the daily thing, because Ben is,
otherwise, I'll get shouted out by Mum over there.
Yeah.
You combine E55?
All right, cool.
Let's go say about open.
They're not reliable.
I wanna wait, I wanna wait.
There is also, I'm not gonna jinx it,
but there's something else with it.
There's something with it.
Shit.
And it's not Jezza.
Ah, wait, wait.
Yeah, don't worry about it, Ben.
Oh, I know this.
Yeah, you do know about it.
You do know about it.
It's a very distant pipe dream,
so I'm not saying anything about it,
1:20:18 E55 Ferrari and Future Plans
but there's another, Jezza's not the only boy
in the block.
Let's just say that.
There's an Acti on the way.
It could easily be forgotten about.
It's not careful.
Look, you know what?
He's had his time.
There's plenty more fish in the sand.
Jezza, we know what we've got.
Jezza knows what he's got.
Oh, yeah.
Shall we, shall we, shall we,
shall we, to use Smith and Sifter and bring
it into the amp?
Shall we, shall we finish up the weekend?
Oh, God, I'm sorry, sorry to do that.
It's very rude.
It's very rude.
It's very
rude.
Something we also say in public,
quite loudly to
other people.
(laughing)
My one of the week, and this will shock all
of you, it is a Mazarati crotch and photo.
(laughing) It is an affliction.
It is actually tough.
To the point where, and I'm fully aware that
my girlfriend will hear this for the first
time, and this will be her first knowledge of it.
(laughing) That I bid on a Crupto Forte on
co-part the other day.
And one, but it was below the reserve and it
got rejected.
Also, I've meant to say this in the moment,
you bid on it and no one else bid against
you, so it never hit the reserve.
No.
No one else was willing to be that stupid as well.
In the live auction there was,
I think, one other person 'cause he kept
bidding me out, well, whoever it was bidding
me, I'm like, "Why do you want this?"
No one wants these.
You don't need one.
No, I don't, but needs must.
Needs not must.
Well, here's my thought, right?
The Quatch Porte, I keep looking at that car.
It's not one of the first, but it's one of
the strongest I've felt about one of the TDC
cars we've had.
I keep looking at it and going,
"That is so cool."
I think it's because it's like the Ferrari
link and everything.
Yeah.
But the car costs that much.
Yeah, massive headache.
But if you get one with the gearbox that our
one doesn't have, more reliable gearbox,
probably shouldn't be my house.
Yeah, a much better one.
Then I thought, "What could possibly go wrong?"
Couple sticky buttons, who cares?
That'd be fine, but I see what for the money.
Sorry, begging my pardon.
They're just a ridiculously cool car for the money.
And not that I think they'll just go up in
money, but I think they will come to be
appreciated in the future where someone will
look at it.
And I'm as a artist, he's tend to sit in the
doldrums, even if you look at old,
old ones, but if you look at a four-door
quachporte with a Ferrari-derived V8,
there isn't actually another similar one.
Nothing else has that.
I think they're really cool.
And the generation after was NAF.
So I think there's something in that.
I just like, and the way they look,
they look a bit odd, but cool,
the mod, the cool.
And they're part of what was limited.
The odd one was limited by just a moment.
Just over the long one was limited.
So there it is, episode 100.
Thank you very, very much.
very, very much for listening to any,
if you've listened to one or you've listened
to all 100, or if you want of those weirdos
that's listened over and over again,
get some help mainly.
But thank you very much for all of your support.
We have no intention of stopping any time
soon and less Ben leads us dry.
So we will return.
And also we meant to mention,
we mentioned it before on the podcast,
but Ben gets a cut of any of his shirts.
So what's called, what's called the event?
Or the, what's the other one?
What was the other one?
even talk about the other good shirt.
What's that?
The redacted shirt.
Oh, the redacted shirt is fantastic.
That's Ben's other shirt.
We'll let you, you can go and explore that on
carsrule.shop, go and have a look at that.
It's that's our other favorite one that we've made.
You buy the shirts, Ben then goes and buys
and molds and I owe Ben money.
Yep.
That's fair.
It's a lovely little cycle.
Maybe it's the Honda Acti Fund.
Thank you very much for listening to this episode.
Thank you very much for listening to this podcast.
We will see you next week with the 101 big dog.
Bye!
Goodbye!
Goodbye!
I couldn't get the money.
Give me those weak tongue wheels.
